And we're still talking about the first opening parables in the Quran that have to do with two images, one of them that we started talking about, which is somebody starting a fire in the middle of the night, I'm going to add some things to that. And then I'm going to hopefully try and cover and complete our discussion on the second parable also, which has to do with a dark night and somebody's passing through it in the middle of the rain in the middle of very heavy rain. And we'll see what we can learn from both of those examples. The reason I think this is significant to spend more time on is because both of these are extremely crucial concepts in the
Quran. The conflict between light and darkness is actually something repeated throughout the Quran. And it's this same imagery, that's the first time it's being brought up. But this imagery is then used all over the Quran multiple times in multiple contexts, and I'm going to walk you through how it's used in the Quran. Yesterday, I told you that a methyl in the Arabic language is like a saying it's not just an example. It's like a saying, and what is in common speech, what do you do with a saying, different situation comes up and it reminds you of that same and another situation comes up and it applies and the same comes to your mind. So when Allah has given us this image, the method
which is supposed to come to mind over and over again, that's its purpose. Then across the Quran, as Allah talks about light and darkness, it's almost as if it should all trace back to this image every time it comes up. That's kind of the educational method of the Quran using light and darkness throughout the Sutras of the Quran in this strategic kind of way. And we'll dive into that in a second. The second thing in sha Allah that because I'm talking about what's used across the Quran, the other image that is used across the Quran to describe Allah's guidance, meaning Quran itself, one constant image is light, and the other constant image is actually rain. example of rain to describe the Quran and the effect of the Quran and the origin of the Quran. Quran comes from the sky, the rain comes from the sky, the Quran gives life to the dead hearts, the rain gives life to the dead Earth, the Quran, the, the, you know, the water is pure, and it's a purifier and the Quran is pure, and it's a purifier, right so there are these connections between water, especially rainwater and the word of Allah and how it's received. And of course, the water comes and if the soil is good, and there's a healthy seed inside, it will grow. But if the soil is filthy, and there's no life inside it is just dried up dirt or it's just stumbled and you know, rocks and
