The Strangers: Episode 13 – Reconnecting With the First Strangers

Welcome to another episode of the strangers we want to do in today's episode. And the episodes that are gonna follow this episode is we want to basically mentioned a few pieces of advice

that will help the strangers today to tread that path of strangeness, to tread that path, and remain patient and steadfast upon it. Until the day they meet a loss of Hannah who went ahead. And so the first piece of advice that I have, for every stranger out there is to reconnect back with the first strangers. Today you are a stranger in this world. And as a prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that Islam began as something strange. And so in the time of the Prophet sallallahu, Alayhi, wasallam, they were strangers, when Islam first started to spread. And so, what we need more than anything today is to reconnect ourselves, our families, our children, our own at large, to the

first strangers who were when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and see how they live their lives. See how they dealt with the strangeness of Islam when it first appeared among their people. And if we were to do that, if we were to reconnect ourselves back to those strangers, read about their biographies, listen to lectures about them, investigate, read, examine their lives, if we were to do that, that would be sufficient for us, in remaining strangers, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam spoke about, in which he said give glad tidings to the strangers, those will come later. How is that not the case when a loss of Hannah who went to Allah mentioned these strangers in

the Quran? And he mentioned the companions in general in the Quran. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala said, wa sahbihi una una manera mahadji. Do you know what ansara one lady in

law says about the early strangers, he says was sabya Kunal a Walloon. The first ones, those who accepted Islam first among the mahadji rune, and the unsolved one levena turbo boom, BSN. Allah subhanho wa Taala says that among the believers are those who are honest with their word, their pledge, what they have promised along with. And so among them are those who have fulfilled what they were required to do until death, meaning they fought for the sake of a loss of Hannah, who was Anna until they were murdered for the sake of a loss of Hannah who went to Ohio.

A woman whom a young toddler, and among them are those who are waiting for that promise. They are waiting. And in another verse, Allah Subhana. Allah describes the companions as being truthful in their Eman. And so in this verse that we have recited, here we see that Allah subhanho wa Taala describe the companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as being those who are truthful to Allah subhana wa Tada. truthful in there he man in times of sacrifice. And then we look at where Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions the other companions later on in the social media, when the Treaty of Libya took place, local Ravi Allahu Mina, in

Sha, Allah subhanho wa Taala says that he has become pleased with those believers, who give you pledge of allegiance under the tree. Friday, Matthew Kirby him to Angela Sakina de la him.

Fat ham kariba and so Allah subhanho wa Taala says that he knew what is in their hearts of a man. And so he revealed he caused Sakina tranquility, to descend upon their hearts. And he rewarded them with a very near victory. And many, many other verses in the Quran, where Allah subhanahu wa Tada. He describes to us the companions, how he is pleased with them, after they had become pleased with him, and the many rewards and virtues that Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions of these great companions, and among them are the strangers, the first companions to have accepted Islam. The sad reality is today

that our children and our youth have abandoned these great personalities. And so they have taken as their role models, those who they look up to who they respect the disbelievers, the evil and corrupt amongst society, singers, pop stars, football players, and the list goes on and on.

And that is because they have lost touch with their true Islamic identity. If their Islamic identity was in their hearts, then it would have been on the rest of their actions. And they would never glorified. any individual who opposes a lot in the way of a lot. Rather, the only ones that they would glorify, are those personalities, those companions who sacrifice for Allah and His messenger and to establish this Deen

and so we must inculcate within ourselves and in our children, a sense of pride for this religion, what Allah subhana wa tada has given to us, this religion, that was Hannah, who went to Hana has become pleased as being the religion for us. And so it is this sense of pride that is missing, unfortunately, among many of the youth, the Muslim youth today, and so they feel embarrassed to show their Islamic identity.

And so they don't show it. And so they'll take names of the kuffar. Don't dress like the disbelievers. And they'll act in their manners in their ways, like the disbelievers. And so we have to return to the example of the companions, especially those early companions, who accepted Islam when Islam was something strange. And so they had become strangers. Let us look at their lives and take them as role models when they accepted Islam. How did they feel about this new religion? How did they feel about the strangeness that they had to experience? Did they feel inferior? Did they feel that they should hide this Islam and they shouldn't show it to anyone? No, they felt proud for

it. They felt proud of this religion that they had accepted. And so we have the example of a Buddha and believe it or the Allahu Allah

And how when he had accepted Islam, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told him to go back to his people. He said, No. First, I'm going to go and announce my Islam publicly among your people. And so he went to the Kava,

and announced publicly, that there is none deserving of worship besides a lot. And that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. What happened? Naturally, the enemies of Islam, the people of Quraysh, they attacked him, they jumped him until he was knocked out. And the uncle of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam bass had to come and intervene and save him from his own people.

But that wasn't enough. The next day, a Buddha came again, and did the same thing. What does this show us? It shows us the pride that he had in his heart for this religion, he valued it. He didn't care about anything that others had to say.

And so we see many examples of this. And so we see when Omar and accepted Islam, he marched with the believers, who are only 40 at that time, in redcap, in March with them with Hans Otto viola, who happen to show the strength of the Muslims, he didn't care. And this was a personality of Omar, he wouldn't care about anyone. Rather, he only cared about a loss of data, who would data and so we see how they valued Islam. If we were to reconnect with these early companions, with these first strangers, we'll be able to cope with the strangeness of Islam today. Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh Welcome back to our program the strangers

So before the break, we mentioned how we as Muslims today who are strangers in the world today, were the first pieces of advice that I could give you is to reconnect with the first strangers of Islam. Those few Muslims who accepted Islam, at the hands of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we need to reconnect ourselves with them. We need to reconnect our children, our youth with them, and the oma needs to reconnect with those first strangers. And so we gave examples of some of the early companions of louzada, probably Allahu Allah, we had,

probably Allahu Allah. And the list can go on and on. Read the stories of those strangers, read about them, read their biographies. teach those biographies to your children, read about Khadija being tweeted. The very first person to accept Islam at the hands of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came with the first revelation, she believed in him, and did not disbelieve in him. The two of them were the only strangers in the world, read about Halle, even

the young man, the cousin of the Prophet, sallAllahu, alayhi wasallam, the next individual to accept Islam. Once he did, he, too, became a stranger, read about the inheritor, that young companion, who was very beloved to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And so he was very close to him, he to accepted Islam, so he became a stranger. He is the only one who has been mentioned in the Quran by name, we're allowed mentions him in Surah, to read about Abu Bakr, Mr. De Rosa, who I'm one of the first to accept Islam. And when he did, he became a stranger. And he went on to become the best individual, after our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, the best companion to walk the face of

this earth, the one who sacrificed everything for the sake of Allah and His Messenger, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he went on to become the halifa of the Muslims. And as a result, the strangeness of Islam had vanished. Read about Yes, sir Abraham, you're

one of the first to accept Islam. And he was the second martyr, the second Muslim to die for the sake of his religion, after his wife, and other one of the strangers sumiya been taught that both of them were tortured and persecuted by their people by Quraysh, and eventually died as a result of that torture. Read about their son, Mr. Ebenezer, that young man who was also persecuted, tortured in those early days in Mecca, but he remained patient. He remained firm and steadfast. He had that young energy in him. And so he lasted whenever the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would come and see their suffering, their torture, he couldn't do anything. But he would say to them sobre la

And so we need to reconnect with these first strangers, teach our children about them. teach our young ones about them, so that they feel proud of their religion so that they could practice this religion and also feel like strangers, read about sad a bit who costs one of the early companions, whose mother opposed his Islam.

Once he came, and she had found out about his Islam, she told him to leave Islam. She told him not to abandon the religion of his forefathers. But he did not obey her.

And so she had threatened him. She said, If you do not leave your Islam, I'm going to stop eating. I'm going to stop drinking.

And so

sad because he would come to his mother and say, Please have some food have some drink. She went on a hunger

Strike, wish she would refuse, she would refuse and not eat anything. And so sad, because he said, My Mother, please understand, now I will never leave my religion. Although I love you, my love for the Messenger of Allah in my heart is greater than it is for you. He went on to say Biola if you had 1000 souls, and each one departs, one after the other, I would never abandon this religion for anything. And so when she saw his determination, she started eating and drinking, as a result of loss of Hannah who attended revealed those verses, which are recited until the day of judgment, were a loss of Hannah who without a said about the relationship of a man with his mother. And so a loss

And yet still, he will not abandon his religion. He still pointed upward and said, I had to look ahead, there is none except one, one deity, one God who deserves to be worshipped, redouble Abdullah bin Massoud, radi Allahu Allah, this Greek companion, who accepted Islam, who accepted

Islam in those early days. He went on to become one of the greatest scholars of Islam

the cousin of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, one of the early strangers who was among those who migrated in the first hedgerows to Abba Sr. and how he was the one who was the delegate who gave dour to the Emperor, the joshy in Abyssinia, and as a result, he had accepted Islam read about Abdul Rahman in the house. And so there is no greater advice that I could give to every single Muslim stranger out there in the world today. Ignorant Alright, read about Musab in Romania. readable Hamza bin Abdul muttalib, read about a snap didn't a debugger, read about their lives, become well acquainted with these early strangers. If we were to do so, we would no longer feel that strangeness. And that is because when we become acquainted with those URLs,

strangers, whatever happens to us in these times that we're living in today becomes easy. Why? Because we're not getting tortured. We're not getting persecuted like they did. We're not facing any economic boycotts. We're not being prevented from our food and our drink. Yes, we're facing other difficulties, but nothing compared to what they went through. And so if we were to reconnect ourselves with those early companions, with those strangers, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam spoke of when he said that Islam horiba that Islam began as something strange. And so what that means is that when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came with Islam, Islam was looked at

in that society as being something strange if we were to do this, if we were to reconnect ourselves and our children and our future generations with those early Muslims, those first strangers this will be the greatest step in jumping that hurdle of feeling strange for our Islam. I asked Allah subhanho wa Taala to help us and to help this oma reconnect itself back to those strangers, especially our young ones.
