The Coming of Allah and Seeing Him on Judgment Day
Alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. We begin by praising Allah subhanho wa Taala who is worthy of unlimited unconditional praise? We praise Allah subhana wa tada for every blessing that we recognize and for the blessings we do not recognize. We praise Allah subhanho wa Taala for having guided us to Islam were it not for Allah's guidance, we would not be guided. We praise Allah subhana wa Taala for the blessings of the Quran for Allah azza wa jal chose us to reveal the best of all of his books. We praise Allah subhanho wa Taala for making us the oma of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and that is the greatest honor because it is the greatest oma, we praise Allah subhana wa tada for the
blessings of health, the blessings of wealth for the blessings of safety and security. We praise Allah subhana wa tada for each and every blessing that we do not even recognize and know as a lot. So it just says in the Quran, what is behind a company imma move on to lighten your belt in a he has immersed you in his blessings. Some of them are apparent and you know them and others, others of them are hidden and you do not recognize them as to what follows. We are continuing our series of the Day of Judgment. And to be honest, I am very sad, having entered the masjid which is totally empty and speaking to you from an empty room and seeing this this magnificent house of Allah
subhanho wa Taala the way that it is, it is very troubling. And we ask Allah azza wa jal to lift the Weber and the Bella that has come down because of our own sins. Truly, it is a very sad time that we are witnessing now. And we ask Allah azza wa jal for for for afia.
Nonetheless, we must continue regardless of what happens we must continue and persevere in our worship of Allah, and in increasing our knowledge, and of the aspects of knowledge that we were busy with. Before all of this began, I was doing a series about the Day of Judgment. And I had reached the concept of Shiva and I had done a number of lectures about the shift out of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And then that allowed us to go into the tangent about the types of Shiva and we wanted to do all of them. But what began all of that before the tangents would began, all of that was the shafa of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to begin the day of judgment. Remember
that right? Then we said, since we're doing Shiva, we might as well discuss all types of Shiva. So I went into chronologically attention because the shift out of the people of gender, the shift out at the end of times they are at the very end of the bubble of jahannam. That's not going to happen on the Day of Judgment, it's going to happen aeons later it's going to happen, a timeframe we don't even know about, but I went into all of that. And we have discussed basically the categories of shefa and the controversies over them. Now we're going to come back and we go back to that Hadith where our Prophet sallallahu wasallam was bowing down in front of the throne of Allah subhana wa
tada and Allah subhana wa tada says, Yeah, Mohammed arafat sec says toto is far too short fact that all prophets was a mere Mohammed raise up your head Old Testament speak you shall be listened to ask you shall be granted what you want and then give the shofar. So Allah subhana wa tada will ask the prophets Assam to lift up his head, and that will be the beginning of the day of judgment meaning the judgment of the Day of Judgment. Obviously, judgment day has begun as a concept and what is going to happen well, the next concept or the next issue that the Quran and Sunnah mentions and the Quran is very explicit about this. And it is something that the believers hearts should tremble at,
and the man should quiver when they hear about the next aspect and that is that Allah subhana wa tada himself is going to come to the plains of the Day of Judgment, and Allah azza wa jal will descend down and he will come in a large gathering of angels. And the Quran mentions in a number of verses that Allah azza wa jal will come on the day of judgment to begin the judgment itself. And some of them we understand without any problem who Allah is hey mku we all understand what Hey, mku means Allah is Samir and Allah is Basia. And Allah is ID and Allah is Habib, and Allah is that a man and Rahim we all understand what these attributes mean. And then some of them, some of us we don't really think too deeply about them. And perhaps that's a good thing as we're going to come to but other scholars
have thought deeply about them. What do we do when Allah azzawajal says in the Quran, when he is speaking to a police when he's speaking to a police? Allah says, ma'am, and I can attest to the maharlika to be a day Yeah. Or at least Why did you not prostrate to this being? Who am I created with my two hands yet a year? My two hands? advanced theology, we go into this in a lot of detail in those classes. But to summarize, you do have a spectrum of, you know, schools and interpretations. And if you go to any advanced seminary, if you teach, if you study with any scholar, advanced theology, frankly, even intermediate, frankly, even very basic theology, if you do any textbook that is written in the last, you know, 1400 years of Islam, to be honest, 1300 years, excuse me.
You will find this attribute this issue of the attributes of Allah to be a very central concept of Islamic theology at the texture
Will level meaning when you study a book that a theologian has written trying to teach you Islamic theology, no matter what, no matter what group you go to, this will be a very main portion of that classical textbook or even modern textbook and that is how do we understand the divine attributes and you have so many different formulated creeds, this is a been there done that deal, meaning that you already have the Creed's and the methods and the fibrox already formed. So you have the 30 Creed, you have the Ashanti creed, you have the maturity creed, you have the more ethnicity creed, you have a decree, you have the older code, you have the ethnicity, creed, you have all and you have
others, by the way, you have all of these been there done that this is a discussion that no exaggeration, hundreds of 1000s, not hundreds and 1000s, hundreds of 1000s of treatises and counter treatises and refutations and counter refutations have been written. And you find that generally speaking, those theologians who study many years in the sciences, they become very passionate about their schools interpretation. And they view their schools interpretation as being not just the only valid one. But to the point that if somebody disagrees with that interpretation, they are incorrectly guided, they are heretical, or they are deviant. They are bad muslims for holding this
theology. And it is all too common to find people who criticize in a very harsh manner, other movements and groups that have alternative opinions. And I would say that, and I speak as somebody who used to be like that a decade ago or so, I would say that this type of misguided
enthusiasm is simply not useful for the oma for many reasons. Now is not the sculpting time to go into all of them. But I think the most obvious one is that those people who dive deep into these issues, and they spend many years studying these issues of how we understand the attributes of a law, what does it mean, when a law says what, or a book or a rockmount or Alicia Stella or Bella Docomo Soltani? What do all of these mean? And they learn and they read and they listen to their teachers. What happens is after a while, they become disconnected from the average Muslim who comes and prays and reads the Quran and wants to come closer to Allah subhana wa Tada. And they surround
themselves with people of one like minded nature. And they forget the average Muslim outside of that bubble that they have created in their seminaries and amongst their peers. The average Muslim really is not troubled or bothered or concerned with the deeper implications and the ramifications of what exactly does this mean, if we do this, then that the average Muslim is reading the Quran, wanting to enter agenda, wanting to worship Allah subhana wa Tada. So when the advanced student of knowledge who has studied these textbooks with his or her, you know, teacher now goes out of the seminary and starts lambasting and criticizing other Muslims for this and that the average Muslim has never heard
of these controversies, the average person is clueless as to what this group and that group says, and frankly, brutally honest, it's not going to increase their Eman to learn the deviations of other groups. So it is a mistake, in my humble opinion. And this is what I have been doing for the last decade or so it is a mistake to bring these classical debates that took place between various theologians of various schools, it is a mistake to bring them to the member or the pulpit of the question. It is a mistake to introduce your average Muslim to these issues, and it is best to gloss over them. And even if you hold a position, and obviously every theologian and every advanced
student is going to hold the position, there is a time and a place and an audience and the language I repeat, there is a time and a place and an audience and a language to bring up these very difficult topics of what does it mean that Allah is coming down on the day of judgment? What does it mean that the senator, really no matter what position you follow, feel free to you know, defend it in a legitimate manner, but in the audience that is going to be affected by it. And it is not my philosophy, to nitpick and find the mistakes of other people. And frankly, we have Far Far, far bigger issues facing our oma then the inter Sunni an interest Sunni because even within Sunni Islam,
you have various strands, even within Sunni Islam, you have various interpretations and of course, outside of Sunni Islam, you also have various interpretations and the average Muslim and that is like 90 to 95% of the time I would say the issues that are troubling them that are problematic to them have nothing
to do with the classical controversies between the Shai era and Mr to read these in the Morteza and the 30s and the body, this is all gone, we have to worry about far bigger issues. So, I do not advise any of the advanced students or the even the scholars with my utmost respect to all of them to bring these issues and start causing fitna amongst the Muslim masses. Yes, teach it in the right audiences amongst advanced students of knowledge that are studying full time and in those audiences, you can explain the back and the forth nonetheless, because we have come to this issue. And because I do know that a lot of people are watching these videos and there will be some, some generic
confusion I need to be somewhat you know, generic, I'm not going to go into a lot of detail. Just realize that these types of ahaadeeth and versus what for example, what job or a book your Lord is going to come or what Yeah, yeah, tiara book that are they waiting for Elijah to come? These types of verses and a Hadith, we find two camps if you like, there's more than two, but for our purposes, we'll keep the two. And the first of them is to basically take what the Quran and Sunnah says, and say that look, Allah and His Messenger, they know the Arabic language, obviously, you know, they are the ones who speak it, and they're the ones that are really revealing the Koran in it. And so we
shouldn't try to reinterpret what Allah himself says. And they say, that if Allah azza wa jal uses any word that is an attribute of his, or the Prophet system, ascribes In a word, an attribute to Allah subhanho wa Taala, it's not our position to negate that word. Rather, we accept this word, and we leave its reality to Allah subhana wa Tada. And I'll give you a simple example. We all understand that Allah is high, we all understand what the meaning of Hey, is, that the one who has life we all understand Allah is a semir that a lot of xojo can hear and Allah is able see that a lot of xojo can see we all understand that a lot is admittedly a hobby and I learned well, who you that he knows
everything. Does anybody think too deeply about how does the law here and how does the law say no, we're not supposed to think about it. In fact, even if we try to think our minds would fall short, and to try to imagine Allah subhana wa tada is itself a problem and a sin because our minds can never comprehend Allah subhana wa Tada. And that is why Allah says LASIK, admittedly he she, there is nothing like Allah subhana wa Tada. There is nothing like a love we cannot imagine a law we cannot understand the attributes of Allah. So when Allah is communicating to us, in the Arabic language, the Quran is in Arabic, as soon as in Arabic, when Allah is communicating to us in the
Arabic language, we understand the word, but we will never understand how that concept exists in Allah subhanho wa Taala. nor are we required to understand that concept. And this is the position of many of the early scholars of Hadith especially, and the earliest scholars of the tab, determine tab, the tab here, only a medic was very explicit on this point, a mom and Bahati as well, a mama didn't humble many of the books that his students wrote, it is very clear that this was his understanding. And it is an undeniable fact that this is the interpretation of a large group from very, very early Islam. And just to give you one example, I have a book over here that is written by
one of the famous scholars of Islam by the name of Abu Saeed Earth mindedness, identidad. Me who died in the year 282 at hedgerow, this is of the timeframe remember Bahati, that's a very early timeframe. And he has in this book, the chapter bable, newzoo, the rugby yarmulke material, his sub, the chapter of Allah azza wa jal, coming down on the day of judgment in order to judge the creation, and he brings a number of Hadith and a number of verses, including the verse of Bukhara that Elijah is going to come for you let me know Hi, Mommy will melodica in groups of clouds and angels that a Lars was gonna come down. And then a didomi says that, and I quote directly from the book and my
version is page 93. And I brought this book so that you to illustrate to you that this is actually a very interesting, a very safe, a very nice methodology that goes back to very, very early Islam, and it is found in some of the, the most ancient books of theology ever written. So a didomi says, all of these texts and a hadith that mentioned that Allah azza wa jal is going to come down in the day of judgment and are going to come down to these timeframes that he is saying, I have found all of my teachers
Accepting and believing in these traditions, and I have not found any of them rejecting them until he's talking about another group called the Jamia, they came and they negated it. And they rejected what the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, and they began to question listen to this, they began to question How does the law come down on the day of judgment? obligatory, and none shall ask Allah about what Allah does. And we will be asked about what we do, and allies which is going to ask us and so in this very, very beautiful phrase that the cave or how it happens, we do not think about and one other interesting book as well, you've all heard of Yamamoto, but he already mentioned the name of Imam authority as well. And Amanda Tolbert, he wrote many, many books, he wrote the book of Tafseer, which is one of the earliest books of Tafseer he wrote a very big book of history as well. And he else also has a book on Islamic theology. Very interesting. He has a book on Islamic theology and it is called top seed only know how

Are you going to believe or are you going to accept and then he goes on and he says, of course, we will accept what Allah azza wa jal is saying. And then he interestingly says, some people said that what is meant is that Allah will not come, but rather the command of a law will come without a book, the command of Allah, not Allah Himself. But then he says, look at the verse wotja, or buka, well, melaku sufferance of Allah, and the angels are going to come in ranks. So he asks, in this verse, When Allah is saying, the angels are going to come, are
you saying, No, it's not the angels, it is the command of the angels? If you say that it is the angels, then why can you not affirm that Allah Himself is going to come down? So this is an interesting narration from automaty himself where he is basically also affirming that No, of course, when Allah is saying, What job or book this means Allah Himself is going to come. Now, this is one interpretation. It is the interpretation of one school of Satanism, and it is definitely found in many, many early treatises of of Islam. And it is defended by later scholars as well of the likes of Amanda Hubby, and it'd been Tamia. And even though I am and many of the scholars who followed that
interpretation, it is not the only interpretation. There are other interpretations as well. And we find these interpretations, they go back to schools that are now called the mortality school, and other schools as well. And eventually, some of these interpretations are adopted by later schools like the shadow school or the majority school. And they said that look, when a law is saying words are a book, we cannot affirm that Allah Himself comes. And we have, for example, the book written by the great scholar, a woman saw Alma, Ed, the founder of the school and actually the wrote another very early commentary of the Quran and it is called
commentary that is written around the same time as buddy's commentary and materially died around 310 100 or so it is the same timeframe as Imam automaty. An email remark to add, when he comes to this verse, word job or book your LORD shall come. He says that, and I quote you from the seed that we cannot understand this to mean that Allah Himself comes, no we cannot understand what Jara book does not mean your Lord comes. Why? Because he says that a lot exists without a place. So we say that the commandment of Allah comes or the judgment of a law comes or the reward and punishment of Allah azza wa jal comes. And so he said, Allah Himself does not come. And of course, this
interpretation, it is the hallmark of the other strand of Satanism, which is the maturity school or the shoddy school, and this is defended by later scholars like your mama Khazali, emammal, Joanie, imahara, Dean, or Rosie availbale, and other you know, great earlimart, who followed that interpretation. And,
frankly, my sympathies are with the first school. But in the end of the day, the other school has existed. And we should not make this an issue where we should show any hatred or any animosity. If you want to follow the other school then, either way, I think we make a mistake, by the way we can mistake when we delve into this issue so deeply. And we forget the purpose of the verse itself. And this is a huge problem that both sides fall into both of these sides going back and forth. They forget the spirit of the Quran. Allah did not reveal these verses, so that we debate over the reality of what does it mean what job or a book well, yet tiara book widow, allegedly revealed?
Allah revealed it so that we feel a sense of fear of genuine terror that Allah Himself is coming down. Are we prepared to meet? It wasn't revealed that you start debating and bickering what is the reality? And what is this? And what does that? So I think that sometimes sometimes, both of these interpretations and their defenders do a disservice to the oma when they start debating the advanced technicalities, and they lose the purpose of why Allah revealed this verse in the first place. And so my point is, let's just gloss over that classical controversy. And I say this as somebody who clearly has an opinion, and who clearly teaches advanced classes in this regard. But when it comes
to now we're talking about the Day of Judgment, let's ignore the technicalities. And let us understand that the Quran is saying we're jarabacoa melaku suffer and suffer. And Allah is saying Haryana Luna Illa and yet to whom Allah, what are they waiting for? are they waiting for Allah Himself to come down in a surrounded by the angels? So the point of these verses, are you prepared to meet a lot on the day of judgment? That's the point, let's concentrate on that point, rather than the technicalities of what does it mean here and there. So, the coming of Allah azza wa jal, and however you want to interpret it, it is something that is very clear in the Quran and in the Sunnah.
And when Eliza is going to come down, obviously, the narrations both in the Quran and the Sunnah, they mentioned another issue. And of course, this issue will have the same spectrum of interpretation as the previous one does. So I'm not going to go into too much detail because now you understand the two paradigms. I explained to you that one group will affirm any word and they're going to say, we don't know how and we're not supposed to think about how and the other group will problematize the meaning of this word and say, No, no, it doesn't really mean this, it means that and my point is whichever one you want to follow, let's concentrate on the purpose of why this verse
and this hadith exists. And that's more important, frankly, than this advanced discussion, leave the advanced discussion to advanced classes, leave that debate to the students. And you will see a lot the day that Allah that Allah met gathers all of mankind on the Day of Judgment. And it will be said, and this is of course, a very deep idea. So I'm going to go on now, it will be said that let everybody follow the icon they used to worship. So whoever used to worship the sun will go to the sun, whoever you
worship, the moon will go to the moon. Whoever used to worship the false gods will go to the false gods. And this oma shall remain because there is no place to go. Any Ulla will say, or maybe the angel will say it's not clear, Allah will say or the angel will say, every group should follow the God that they worshipped. And so every single group is going to go to its God. Every single group will find, you know, whether it was across whether it was this whether they're going to go to that direction, and this oma shall be left. If I give you this, will you be happy? You're not going to ask for anything more are you? But then, when he turns away from jahannam what do you think he's going to see in the distance far, far away, he will see Jenna itself. And didn't you make an assumption that if I gave it to you, you're not going to ask me I got you out of jahannam. I took your face away from it. I kept you coming closer, closer, closer, and now you are wanting to enter gender. And the man will say, oh my lord, don't make me your most unfortunate creature that I'm at the gates of gender, and I'm not
inside gender. And you don't make me at that level that I'm so close and right outside it and I can see and I can hear and I can smell and yet I am not in it. And so the Prophet system said Jaco law who mean who Allah subhana wa Taala will laugh at this impetuous man, after 15 times is giving us some to Allah.
And the purpose here of course is to demonstrate dear human, dear mortal, never say to Allah, that you're never going to ask for anything more. Because we need a law. Every single instance one breath we take, we cannot expel it without the blessings of Allah and we cannot inhale another without the blessings of Allah never ever feel that Oh Allah, I just want this one thing and then nothing else Subhana Allah you and your existence you and your breath of air, you and your food and water you and your morsel of food and sip of water, every item you take, it is from Allah subhana wa tada Do not be so arrogant as to say, I just want this and nothing else. On the contrary, say Oh Allah, give me
and give me and give me because none can give other than you. And Allah I want everything that you can give me because you are adorable. And I am dived in to talk to you, you are the honey and I am the future you or Allah. That's the attitude the person should have. But this person, this miskeen he obviously does not have that knowledge. And he thinks I'm just going to ask this and I don't want anything else from Allah. And then he says Oh Allah, please just cause me to enter agenda. And so Allah will laugh. Our Prophet system said, as soon as a law laughs the man shall enter Allah laughs at those whom he loves. So this man, whatever he did, he deserved Johanna, but he still had some good in him and our process and said, this is the last person exiting gender, entering gender. And so he
will enter gender. And once he enters it, once he enters it, Allah will say to him to Amanda, go ahead and wish and so he will ask Allah and ask Allah and ask Allah and then Allah will remind him of other things to ask until when he has given all that he can possibly imagine. The Prophet system said, Allah will say, you have all that you asked for, and 10 times this much. And the man will say, oh, a law? Are you making fun of me? Are you being sarcastic? That I asked an answer that I got out of things to ask you told me what to ask. I asked those things. Then you say to me, I will give you this and 10 times this? Are you making fun of me? Oh, a lot. And when the prophecies have narrated
this, he himself began to laugh at this same poor miskeen person, that Luke where he was and look at his whole journey.
