I ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that just
as he has gathered us here today on
this day of Jum'ah,
in this month, in this blessed month of,
the month of Dhul Hijjah. May Allah, subhanahu
wa ta'ala, gather us along with our families
in Jad Al Firdaus Al A'ala, and the
companionship of Rasulullah, he salallahu alayhi wasalam, and
his Sahaba,
Amin You Rabbil Alamin.
Brothers and sisters,
these 10 days of the of the month
of Dhul Hijjah
are the best 10 days of the year.
The last 10 nights of Ramadan are the
best nights of the year, but these days
are the best days of the year.
And out of these blessed days of the
month of Dhul Hijjah,
the best day of all of them
is tomorrow, the day of Arafah.
It is a day where Allah
he forgives sins.
It is a day where Allah
he releases
people and souls
from the fire of Jahannam.
And this is a day where duas are
accepted.
Brothers and sisters,
Allah
within
his own infinite wisdom and knowledge,
He does not swear upon something unless it
is absolutely
important.
Allah
he swears first of all upon these 10
days.
But that was not enough.
Allah
wants us to understand the value
of the day of Arafah.
The day of Friday,
and the yawmul qiyama. And Allah Subhanahu wa
ta'ala, he swears upon them in 2 verses
in the Quran.
Quran. The ulema and the scholars they say,
that this day, this promised day,
is in reference to the day of judgment.
A day where you and I, and every
single soul
on the face of this earth,
no matter what they believe in, no matter
if they believe in the idea of reincarnation
and so forth,
every single soul will be brought forth on
the day of judgment, and they will stand
before Allah
And then Allah says,
The ulema they say that the shahid
here, the one that is witnessing,
is in reference to the day of Jum'ah.
What day is that? That is the day
of Arafah, as many ulema they say.
So we see that subhanAllah in our current
context.
Today is the day of Jum'ah.
Tomorrow is the day of Arafah. They both
are coming right at right next to each
other. So this is a reminder for us
that these are days that Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala He has sworn upon them. And why
else has He sworn upon them? Look at
the hadith of Rasulullah
He says,
And then he says
There is no day
that the sun has risen or has set
it upon a better day than this day.
And then he says,
On this day, there is an hour. There
is a time. Just like on the day
of jum'ah, there is a time, an hour.
Likewise, on the day of Arafah, there is
a time, and there is an hour.
That a person will ask Allah for something,
and Allah
will inshallah grant it to him. And he
will seek protection
and refuge from something, and Allah
will protect him from that. So brothers and
sisters, first of all is, let this be
a reminder for us. That if you and
I, we think that what is the value
of this day, Allah he swears upon this
day. And the fact that Allah swears upon
it shows that it is it shows its
utter importance.
This brings me to the next point of
this khutba, regarding the day of Arafa.
Brothers and sisters, today we are here in
Dallas, Texas.
Tomorrow is the day of Arafah.
It will probably be hot.
But if you witness the hujaj,
first of all, may Allah
accept the Hajj of everyone who has gone
this year. And may Allah
return them to their families safely and sound.
And may Allah
take us next year, insha'Allah.
But the day of Arafah, if you witness
what goes on in the plains of Arafah,
it is a precursor.
It show It gives you a glimpse
of what the day of judgement looks like.
Think about it for a moment.
On the day of judgement,
the sun will be so close, it will
be beating down upon the people.
When you look at the plains of Arafa,
and you see people standing out there, They're
standing under the sun. And their sun is
beating down on them.
On the way On the day of judgement,
no person will care how the other person
looks like.
They will might You know, as the prophet
he says in a hadith, that people will
be naked on the day of judgement.
And right away our mother, our dear mother
Aisha
she asked, You Rasulullah, won't people look at
each other? And he said,
You Aisha,
the situation will be so horrific,
that no one will care to look at
anyone else.
And subhanallah, when you look at the plains
of Arafah, when people are raising their hands,
and they're pleading to Allah. They don't care
how sweaty they are. They don't care where
their haram is. They're only pleading to Allah
And this is exactly what will happen on
the day of judgement.
That people will be pleading and they'll be
asking for Allah's mercy, Allah's forgiveness.
And this is exactly what you see on
the plains of Arafah.
On the day of judgment, brothers and sisters,
it will not be differentiated. Not everyone is
gonna be in the play In in front
of Allah
There is no differentiation between man or woman.
There is no differentiation
between the rich and the poor.
Everyone is an equal status in the eyes
of Allah
It doesn't matter if they're young or they're
old, or who has a status in the
society, and who does not have a status
in the society.
Everyone's gonna be equal in the eyes of
Allah
And this is exactly what you see in
the plains of Arafah.
Everyone.
You cannot differentiate between the young or the
old, or the rich or the poor, or
the one who has a status. A person
could be worth $50,000,000,000
or a person could be worth only 1
dollar, and they all are equal on the
plains of Arafa.
If anything, brothers and sisters, even in Arafa,
this is a precursor, a glimpse
of what will happen on the day of
judgement.
This is why
Arafa is so important for us. This is
why Arafa is important
for us to reflect on.
At the at the same time, the day
of Arafa, brother and sisters, is a time
for us
to remind ourselves of our commitment to Allah
To rekindle
that relationship with Allah
We were observant of our deen in the
month of Ramadan.
Then comes the month of Shawwal, and shaitan
is released. And many of us we have
gone back to our old ways.
Missing our salawat.
Not reading Quran.
Not taking our time for dhikr.
Not observing the akhlaq of the prophet
committing zulum against others. We went back to
our old ways, but the day of Arafah
is a day where we remind ourselves
of our commitment to Allah
First of all is,
this is the day where Allah
he perfected his religion.
We have all heard the story of Umar
al Khattab
and
his encounter with that Jewish man, and what
he said to Umar al Khattab
But more than this, brother and sisters, this
is a time for us to be thankful
to Allah
that he made us a Muslim.
Many of us here, 99%
of us here in this masjid today,
we were born in Muslim families.
What good did we do?
Did we do anything that Allah said?
That, yes, because of his hard work, or
her hard work, or because of theirs They
did something that is good. I'm going to
bring them up, and I'm gonna give them
birth in a Muslim family.
That is not the case. Allah This is
Allah's
mercy
upon us that we were born in Muslim
families. And we believe in
And if you look at people outside, they
are the ones who are deprived
from This is a moment for us to,
brothers and sisters, to be truly thankful to
Allah
Because if you observe other religions,
there is no other religion on the face
of this earth
that is more logical,
that is more balanced,
that is more spiritual,
and a complete way of life than Islam.
There is no other religion. Go and study
every other religion,
And there's gonna be things that are gonna
that are mind boggling. That how is this
right? How is this even allowed?
But there is no other deen like Islam
on the face of this earth.
And wallahi we should be thankful about this.
There are people who say that Islam is
the one that is depriving me from having
fun in life. There are people who say
that Islam is the one that's taking out
the excite the excitement of life. And this
deen has come from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Allah knows better. Allah knows more than you
and I brothers and sisters. That what's good
for us and what's bad for us. Rather,
we should be thankful to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala that he made us a Muslim.
On this day of Arafah, brothers and sisters,
it is a time to remind us of
our covenant with Allah
When we stood all together, every
single soul
was in front of Allah
when Allah asked
one simple question.
Am I not your Lord?
Rab When Allah says, Rab. Rab does not
mean He's our Lord, that we we worship
Him. But no, Rab means
that everything that we do,
we do it for Allah's sake.
Everything that we do and we stay away
from, it is based on the wishes of
the law giver himself, jallahu
a'ala.
This is our commitment to Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala. And we all said, bala
Yes, indeed.
Yes, indeed.
We are your We we said this to
Allah, that we are his slaves.
So this is a time for us, brother
and sisters, to We need to ask ourselves.
And Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam, he has mentioned
the hadith,
found in Mus'ud
Ahmad, where the prophet
he said exactly this. That on That this
is the day where The day of Arafah,
where this pledge took place. So brothers and
sisters, tomorrow when the time comes,
when we are sitting, let's reconnect with our
purpose of life. Our purpose of life is
to serve
Allah
Our wishes and our desires
are based on the wishes and the desires
of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala. Not that what
we do, what we like to do, but
we will do exactly what Allah Subhanahu wa
ta'ala wants. I will stay away from something
wherever Allah
he wants me to stay away from.
Another way to revive our commitment to Allah
is to reflect on
the khutbah, the very well known khutbah that
Rasulullah
gave On this day of Arafah, in the
plains of Arafah, and this is the only
hajj. The prophet alaihis salam performed 1 hajj
in his life, and this is that hajj.
He performed 4 umras and 1 hajj in
his life. This is the only hajj. And
on this day, he stood up, and he
gave many words of advice to the entire
Muslim community.
First of all, he says that your lives,
your wealth,
and everything that you have is sacred in
the eyes of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
That everything that we have, it is forbidden,
and they are sacred in the eyes of
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Just like the sacredness of this day, and
the sacredness of this month. The prophet alayhi
wasalam, he also reminded us that it is
not allowed for anyone to do dulm against
anyone.
Wallahi.
Forget about the dulm. Today we talk about
the genocide that is taking place in Gaza
against our brothers and sisters. And may Allah
give them fatt, and may Allah give them
nusrah, and may Allah give them victory, and
may Allah subhanahu
destroy the enemies. May Allah destroy them in
a way that it is a it is
a reflection for everyone else to come in
the future.
But the point is, the brothers and sisters,
we talk about their zulum. But do you
know how much zulum takes place in our
own community?
When it comes to the relationship of a
husband and wife, how many relationships, how many
families where the husband is doing zulum against
the wife? Or how many marriages where the
wife is doing zulum against the husband? Or
the children are being used in marriages? How
many times we see that zulum is taking
place when people are taking loans from each
other, and not returning them on time? People
are making promises with each other, and not
fulfilling their promises and their commitment. And there
is so much that
is taking place.
There's so much dulm that is taking place.
Rasulullah
on this day of Arafah, he reminded us
that no one is allowed to do zulm
against anyone else. No one is to hurt
you, and you are to hurt no one.
Rasulullah reminded us on this day of Arafah,
concerning the rights of the husband and the
wife.
He mentioned
that you are
He mentioned to the husband that you have
rights towards your wife, and your wife has
rights to the others. And he also emphasized
that I enjoin you to treat the woman
with kindness.
This is a time where the Prophet
he reminded us that in our deen, compared
to other religions, the most beautiful thing about
our deen is, there is no superiority
based on our color, based on our language,
based on our ethnicity.
There is no superiority
one compared to other. We all here, we
come from different backgrounds, different ethnicities,
different cultures, different languages.
We all have different colors. But the thing
is, what unites us is,
And this unity
is our greatest strength. This unity is our
greatest asset. And as long as we are
standing together,
unified as a ummah, wallahi, there is no
enemy on the face of this earth that
can break the spirit of Islam.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, he also reminded
them making sure that after the prophet alaihi
wasallam, there is no other deen.
There is no other deen that is acceptable
in the eyes of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala
except for Islam. There is no other deen
that is acceptable. So these are times, brother
and sisters,
that we revive our commitment, and remind ourselves
what we are responsible to do. I ask
Allah
that he gives us the tawfiq
to capitalize
on this day of Arafah, and to value
this day the way it is to be
valued. And may Allah
forgive our sins, and may Allah
make us from amongst those
What are we supposed to do coming tomorrow
inshallah?
What are we supposed to do? How do
we need to approach spiritually the day of
Arafah? The very first thing is, brother and
sisters,
is that as we all know, the tabbiraat
that began at that start,
it starts on the day of Arafah,
after every single salah al mafruda, after every
single obligatory salah,
as a congregation,
or even if you're at home, you're praying
with your own family in jama'ah, we will
recite the takbiraat
after each salat. This will begin tomorrow, the
day of Arafah, and it will continue all
the way to 13th of the Al Hijjah.
In our current context, that means that tomorrow,
Saturday,
Sunday,
Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesday,
all the way to the asr on Wednesday.
Asr Wednesday will be the last salat that
we will recite at birat. So this is
starting tomorrow insha'Allah. And not only that, but
in these days, we try to recite and
glorify Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in these days.
Number 2, brother and sisters, tonight,
try to go to sleep early
and try to wake up early tomorrow. Fajr
comes in very early nowadays. It comes in
around like a 4:55.
That is the last time that that Frederick
comes in according to the, to the 15
degree methodology.
So the thing is that you try to
wake up a little early. Make dua. Pray
your tahajjud,
not in a rush, but pray your tahajjud
in a very calm manner. Make dua to
Allah brother and sisters. Do not go to
sleep at 1 AM or 2 AM, and
then expect to wake up. But no, you
need to wake up. We need to go
to sleep early tonight, wake up early tomorrow
morning, and then, of course, we're gonna partake
in suhoor inshaAllah.
But at the same time, we take our
time to pray our tahajjud and make a
lot of du'a for yourself. And this is
the day, as the prophet
he mentions, the importance of dua on this
day is enormous, brother and sisters. It is
so important that the prophet he has emphasized
upon it. We hear it every single year,
but we need to make sure that we
make dua on this day. We all have
problems in our life. We all have struggles.
We all have situations in our family that
no one knows about. Allah knows about those
situations.
And never for a moment do we doubt
the power of Allah and the strength of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. I had a man
who came to me just few days ago.
He said, I made du'a to Allah. Allah
does not answer me. And I told this
man, Allah is not on our time. We
are on the time of Allah.
Allah decides when to accept our duas. But
Allah is telling us, Rasulullah
alayhi wasalam is telling us, this is the
day to make du'a.
Whatever problems you have, make du'a to Allah.
Make du'a in Arabic, make du'a in English,
make du'a in Urdu, or Hindi, or Bangla,
whatever language you know. Whatever in whatever language,
you can express yourself.
And remember brother and sisters,
whatever you are sharing with Allah,
is between you and Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Allah knows our pain. Allah knows our struggles.
Allah knows our challenges.
Ask whatever you want to Allah
This is the day of Arafah where we
need to ask Allah
Also brothers and sisters, this is also the
day that we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
for his mercy.
This is the day that we ask Allah
for his mercy in this duniya, and we
ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for his mercy
in the akhirah.
Most importantly,
we ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala for deliverance
and safety from the fire of Jahannam. As
Rasulullah
salallahu alayhi wasalam he says, in the hadith
narrated by aish There
is no day in which Allah, he frees
more souls from the fire of Jahannam, than
the day of Arafa.
Then the day of Arafa. And not only
that, but there is no day
where shaitan is humiliated
as much as on the day of Arafa.
Why? Because Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala he has
immense amount of mercy.
And Allah
He forgives abundantly.
All the hard work that shaitan has done
to ensure that we are destroyed.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is coming, and he's
undoing all the work of shaitan.
This is why brothers and sisters, tomorrow on
the day of Arafah, we need to ask
Allah for His mercy. We need to ask
Allah for His forgiveness.
We need to make du'a for whatever we
want. And not only that, but we ask
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for deliverance,
and safety, and protection from the fire jahannam.
And I remind myself and all of you,
the very well known dua, the prophet alaihis
salam has taught us to be recited on
the day of Arafah.
Tomorrow, take out time, brothers and sisters. After
sata'il Asar, especially before sata'ilmaglib,
take out time for with your family. If
you're at home, make sure your kids are
sitting along with you. Make sure you're making
a collective dua. Remind them the importance of
this day, But this is a time that
if you don't have your family with you,
but then this is a time if you
wanna come to the masjid, isolate yourself. Turn
off your phone.
Turn off your phone. If we turn off
our phone for half an hour, 45 minutes,
it is not the end of the world.
Wallahi is not the end of the world.
But these are crucial moments.
Moments that you and I, we don't know
if they're gonna come back again. They will
come back again, but there's no guarantee where
you and I, we'll probably be alive. So
that is why brothers and sisters, we put
aside our phones, put aside anything that can
distract us, and we make dua. If I
get tired of making dua, then make the
athkar. If I get tired of making athkar,
go back to the dua. We always go
back, but these are the things that we
need to busy ourselves, and occupy ourselves tomorrow
on this day of Arafah. I ask Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala once again that may Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala grant us many more Dhul
Hijjah. Many more months of Dhul Hijjah. Many
more days of Arafah. May Allah Subhanahu wa
ta'ala accept our duas on the day of
Arafah. May Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala make us
from amongst those who will enter into jannah
without any accountability,
without any gisab. May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
put keep us and our families united in
this dunya. And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
keep us along with our families in jatul
firdhus al a'ala. And may Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala forgive our sins, and have mercy upon
us, and guide us in every single step
in our life. Ameerabaalameen.
Allahumma

Straighten lines, fill in the gaps.
Brothers in the back, 2 rooms, please make
sure you come inside the main hall. Sisters,
please make sure the rows are straight. Sisters,
please make sure there are no gaps in
the middle.
Please make sure the rows are straight, sisters.
Brothers, please make sure the rows are straight
in the back. The rows are filled.
Please make sure there are no, vacant spots
in the row.
Often, I've seen that there are many spaces
in the row and people are starting new
rows. So please make sure the rows are
straight and the rows are filled.
Brothers,
in the lobby area, please make sure you
look around you, and please make sure the
rows are straight.
Brothers in the back two rooms, please make
sure the rows are complete.
If there's anyone in the, in the multi
purpose hall, please make sure the row is
complete. Often, there are multiple rows and the
rows, all of them are incomplete.
If I can ask the brothers to please
make some space so we can bring the
Janaza forward.
There was just one redoah,
one request for duaah, brother,
Dawood. Okay. He's a member of our community.
His wife is extremely sick, so please keeping
your dua. May Allah Subhanahu give her.
Bring this way.
If there's any family members here, if they
wanna come to their front Inshallah.
The brothers can just squeeze in
little piece. So this is the sultan janaza
of an adult sister,
sister.
May Allah
have mercy upon her, and may Allah
give her a place.
The prophet
he has mentioned hadith that when 40 people
come together and they do not come in
ship with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, then Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will accept their dua on
behalf of the deceased. So, alhamdulillah, we have
fulfilled that criteria.
But this let this be also a reminder
for all of us here as I was
just referring to in the that people are
leaving this duniya, and there's no guarantee when
we when we leave when we will leave
this duniya. So tomorrow, while we have inshallah,
may Allah
even help us witness the day of Arafat
tomorrow inshallah,
because there's no guarantee if we will even
make it by tomorrow.
So but if we get this opportunity, then
do not waste this opportunity inshallah.
Is
a 4th.
After the first takbir, we will recite or
after
the second takbir, we will send our peace
and blessings upon
the. After the
3rd,
we will recite any dua of mercy,
from the Quran or from the sunnah of
for the deceased. And after the 4th,
we will make some on both sides.
I do request everyone that whoever is planning
to go to the graveyard, please do head
right away to the graveyard. Do not sit,
do not stay back here, but let's try
to move, straight straight away and leave from
here, directly as soon as possible. Sha
Allah.
Burial is gonna be in Farmersville.
You do not have to follow the procession.
If you get there early, then do observe
the sunnah
of at the graveyard.
