Salam alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. Brothers and sisters Welcome to another segment of Hadith of the day where we take a quote of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and we understand it in our current context. So in my last video, if you remember I talked about time the importance of managing our time, and today I want to take a hadith as also related to time. However, this time there's not a hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa salam but this is a Hadith of Bootsy, which means that this is something that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, that Allah subhanho wa Taala said, so this is a Hadith that is found, even in Bihari, where Allah subhanho wa Taala

first of all, the Hadith narrated is by Ebola or the Allah to dawn, and that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala said and what did he say? Jalla wa Ala. Now, first of all, what exactly does this mean? When a lot of time I'm sure you've heard this hadith before? And you've tried to

make sense that what does it mean that when Allah says, I am time, see a long time ago, when you talk about the Arabs, one of the things that they were, they would most pride themselves about is strength, power, resources, status value, these were things that they used to highly value. Now, as they will get old in life, they will begin to lose all these things, they will begin to lose strength, they begin to lose position in society, they will begin to lose power and wealth and status. So because of this, they will eventually curse time. And they will say that because of the passage of time, because the time has gone by so quickly, as gone by time has made us old and tired

has made time has made us fragile. So therefore they will begin to curse time. And Allah subhanho wa Taala is saying that when you curse time, first of all, he's saying and Adar Iam time. Now, of course, we cannot take this literally, that when ALLAH SubhanA says I am time. But what that means is that I am in control of time, that if there is one thing that no one can have any control over, it is time that you can own everything in life. The most richest man in history can own whatever he wants, whatever she wants. But if there's one thing that no one can own, it is time. Everyone has 24 hours in a day. And this is why Allah subhanho wa Taala and this hadith could say what do you say,

is in my control the changing of the day in the night. Now what does that mean? It means that when a day in a night passes 24 hours has passed by a day has gone by days make up weeks, weeks, make up months, months, make up years, and eventually so many years, it leads a person to getting old and so forth. So this is why this is the meaning of this hadith that ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada is saying do not curse time. Now of course you may ask Is that what is this mean? What is the meaning of this hadith in our context? Like how do we understand it and our times and the orlimar have explained that the way we can understand it in our times is that we would generally ask Is that why do I have such and

such a day, like when we have a really bad day, or especially in this current situation that we all are in this pandemic and the fact that we have to go through this pandemic and we're being isolated at home and Ramadan is in jeopardy. Then the question that meantime we will ask

Is that why did Allah make this happen? Or why is this happening and many orlimar they say that this is also a form of cursing time. Because we are saying because time is all this has happened because of time Allah Subhan, Allah had already destined that this pandemic will take place. And all this time has passed by and we have come to this point in life, the fact that when we ask these kind of questions, it is a one way cursing and is a one way criticizing time. This is why our alumni have always said that in a situation like this that we are going through right now, instead of saying that, Why did Allah bring this upon us? Rather, we should first of all think that this is all this

is a punishment from Allah subhanho wa taala, what sins have you and I we have committed at the same time, we should always look at the fact that this is also a mercy from Allah subhanho wa taala. And how we can understand it as a mercy. So this is why it's very important that we understand that first of all, Allah subhanaw taala is time. And with time, there are certain situations, certain events that come upon us. And we cannot be very critical of those. Because becoming critical of those is as if we are being critical of Allah subhanho wa taala. Now, of course, there's many things that we can learn from this number one is, as I mentioned last time, the importance of taking care

of our time. You also Hala I was reading an article not long ago, that doing this pandemic people, especially when it comes to companies and big companies, they are saying that if there's one thing that especially adults that they can do during this time, is to make sure that they learned some certain new skill sets during this time. While you're at home, try to take some online courses, try to use your time wisely, try to learn something online that can benefit you once we come out of this pandemic. And subhanAllah. One thing that was written very beautifully and very profound in that article is that many of us we complain about time, we usually complain that had a hard time, I will

take care of such and such, there is something that I've been wanting to do for the last two or three years for because I don't have time, I cannot I cannot get to it. But now we have time. Now we're all at home. Now we have minimum responsibilities. And so that's why if a person comes out of this pandemic, and we don't use our time wisely, and we don't learn some new things during this time, then these researchers are saying that then after this, we can never complain that we don't have time. If there's one thing that we should be complaining is the lack that we is the lack of discipline is not a lack of time, it is a lack of discipline, that because I lacked discipline in my

life. That's why even during a time like this, I was never able to learn anything new. A second thing else. Another thing that we learned from this hadith Cozzi is when you talk about time and so forth, you know, I was just thinking about this the other day, that when we talk about our mahadi thing, when we talk about our Mo Hadith that the people who came in, in our history, who were experts in Hadith amongst the men and the women, did we do we ever really think that they did not have any responsibilities? The answer is yes, they did have responsibilities. They had a family, they had children, and then not have resources like we have today. You know, subhanAllah Have we

ever thought about that we are going through this pandemic. But one of the most beautiful things about this pandemic is that we have something called the Internet, we have something called you under something called online. There's something that going online and learning and, you know, watching videos and enhancing our knowledge, you know, staying connected to Allah subhanho wa taala. And just imagine for a moment, like if we don't have internet, like if I did not have access to going online, think about the people of the past. And if they had to go through pandemics like we are going through today, and they never had the internet, they had they never had any idea of what

is going on around the world. They never had an idea how to remain connected, they never had the opportunity to learn from scholars, online and so forth. So we are truly blessed by Allah subhanho wa Taala yet we find that they were able to contribute so much to Islam, while taking care of the other responsibilities. But today on the other hand, no matter how much technology we have, we find the complete opposite. I mean, technology was supposed to come and help us it was supposed to kind of make our life easy, and know that it has made our life easy. But at the same time we have seen that we have gone down way down in terms of productivity. So that's why it's very important that we

use our time wisely. And this leads me to something else which is regarding Ramadan. You know when it comes to Ramadan to especially the Madonna coming in schools

Time. And you know, we have to go to work every day, especially if you're living like in, in, in a country that is not governed by Islamic ethics and so forth. And you know, you have to go to work and everything is still a status quo, and you're fasting, the one thing that many people would say is that, you know, if I did not have work, or if I did not have school, I couldn't do so much. And I remember one thing, Brother and Sisters is that the way things are looking right now is it seems to us that Ramadan is going to be you know, spent at home. And there's a very, very big chance that Eid will also be spent at home. But here's the thing I really want to focus on. Allah is giving us a

chance. Yes, we don't have to actually go to work. And work may have gone down in some cases. I mean, in some cases, for some people work has even gone up. But there also are brothers and sisters, many of them who have lost their jobs and I pray to Allah replaces that last job was something even better amenable Alameen. But think about your situation on Milan. I mean, the one thing that we used to always complain about, for many of us, Allah is giving us that opportunity. Now think about this, Allah, Allah is saying to us, you kept on complaining that you don't have time, I'm going to give you time, you complained about not having an opportunity. I'm creating an opportunity for you. Let's

see how much now you do. You keep on criticizing your responsibilities. Let's see how disciplined you are. And this is a test from Allah subhanho wa Taala to all of us here. So this is why it is very important that especially during this time that Ramadan is coming, let us not waste some of on. I know that, you know when it comes to our being productive, and when it comes to our spirituality, it is going to be tough, I'm not saying it's going to be easy, it is going to be tough, is easy that when you come to the masjid in your own community, or locality, and you're able to see everyone fast and you're able to see everyone pray that all we're and so forth, and that becomes easy for you to

push yourself. But same time now this is a test from Allah subhanaw taala let's see this can this is this is a way for us to show Allah subhanaw taala that do I really lack the opportunity? Or do I like discipline? So this is why I ask Allah subhana wa Taala that in every aspect of our life, may Allah subhanaw taala give us the ability to manage our time wisely. Because once again, it is very important that we use our time wisely and in sha Allah. What I want to do in the next upcoming videos, when it comes to the Hadith of the day is that I may not necessarily share a hadith with you, but I want to go through something about the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam and just in the

next few three or four videos, what was the daily routine of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam penance when we're talking about time, then the first thing that comes to our mind is that okay, I understand that the Prophet saw some was very productive in his life, but then we don't even know what was the daily routine of the Prophet sallallahu it was set up.
