I said I want a call to law, he will put a call to welcome to another segment of Hadith of the day, where we take a quote of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam expand upon it and understand it in our current context. One of the biggest challenges that we are facing today as this pandemic is going on, is that we're having this struggle, that while we are at home, we cannot be productive.
One of the things that many people have told me is that when they knew that they're going to be at home, they thought that they can actually take care of a lot of things that were on their to do list. But it just so happens a while we're at home, we have kids at home, we have other responsibilities at home, you know, daily things to do at home, that we're not able to really become productive. People are sleeping at different odd times. People are waking at all times, people are eating at different times, and we're not able to really get a grip of life. I want to share with you hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and hopefully we will understand this hadith and
apply it in our life, in value to things that we all have in our life. This is a Hadith narrated by Ebro Abasa, the ultra on Houma, where the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, and this is found in Behati, he only has some says near mutton, there are two blessings, meaning that these are two blessings given by Allah subhanho wa taala. To every one of us for the most part, Mo Boone and fie fi America thi Dominus. But at the same time, when it comes to these two blessings, most people will feel sad, they will feel regret, and they will feel that they have lost out on these two blessings. Where those two blessings are. So ha, well, for all it is health and free time. So what
the Prophet salallahu audio someone's actually saying over here is that if a person is going to raise their health mean that they have a certain time in their life, that they are healthy, they can move around, they can do a lot of the things that people who don't have how they're unable to do, or you have free time. And so the problem is, is I'm saying that if you if we misuse our time, and we misuse our health, down the road when we don't have the health and we may not have time, we will be in the state of loss, we will feel regretful or we will either waste our health or waste our time so either wasting or misusing either way if we choose our health in our time this way down the road at
some point in our life or some time in our life, we will have immense amount of regret. This is why brothers sisters, it is so important that this time that Allah has given us we that we use it very wisely. This is why Imam Shafi are you talking with Allah Allah He said the time is like a sword. Either if you miss use it, it will cut you meaning that if you miss use times he try one last stop for anyone. If you use your time wisely, Time keeps on going on. If he miss use your time, time keeps on going on time will never stop for anyone. Like have you seen a soccer match, okay, or a football match. In that you'll see that the clock never stops. If the if the ball is out of bounds,
the clock keeps on running. If the ball is in play, the ball keeps on running. If there's an injury on the field, the clock keeps on running no matter what it is. So likewise, this are what our life is. Second thing is that what we learned in the Quran is Allah subhanho wa Taala he only swears upon things that are extremely important, or something that Allah subhanaw taala really wants to gain our attention. Here in the Quran, Allah subhanho wa Taala He says, When the apostle that Allah subhanaw taala swears upon time. And then he says in an in Santa Luffy hustle. The majority of the people are in the state of Hassan, they're in the state of loss. What are some of the other explain some
explanations that are given for this idea is that people are going to be wasting so much of their time or they will miss you so much of their time that this will put them in a state of Cassara and this is why Subhanallah if you think about the Quran and the surah that is mentioned the Quran as surah Taha when you don't go back to the Hadith Magoun Hoyne by noon these three letters, we find those same three rule letters
In the word Pelabuhan Why is the day of judgment call yo with a goblin? Because that day, there will be a lot of hustle. On that day there will be a lot of regret, Oh Allah, I wish I would have used my time in the right way. Because when a person who goes to Jannah when they see that if I had read one more time Subhanallah had I done one more good deed, I would have another elevated position in Jannah. This is why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he says, they say at the hustle, Jana, that a person who goes into Jannah if there's one thing that they will have regret for one thing that they have regret for is what, Sir, our 10 Lamb youth Chris Malloy, Sophia, is that they will
have regret over that hour or that time or those seconds that they had spent without the vicar of Allah subhanho wa taala. This will be a means of their loss or their regret. So this is why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is telling us that we all have a Sahaba. Well, for all we have health, and we have time, and we should use them wisely. Now the question is that someone may ask is okay, I understand that we should use time wisely. But can you give us some tips? Can I give you some tips? Absolutely. Let me share with you some things that we find in our deen and from Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam. The very first thing is that waking up early, the one thing that we
learned from the life of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that made him such a productive human being is that he would wake up early. See, where we don't realize is that when we wake up, like 12 o'clock in the afternoon, 11 o'clock in the afternoon, one o'clock, two o'clock, and Subhanallah I talked to some people that when there's no school, there's nothing going on. People are asleep, people are awake during the night and they're sleeping during the day that will take away baraka from your that will take away baraka from your day. I want to give all of you this experiment. And there are people that they will tell you people who are early risers, people who
wake up early and they get things done. They can even tell you that if you wake up at 12 o'clock, one o'clock, three o'clock, and then you try to take care of things, versus waking up early in the morning, and then you try to take care of things Subhanallah in the beginning part of the day, Allah put so much Baraka in that time, you can take care of so many different things, and it will probably just be around nine o'clock, 10 o'clock. Why? Because Allah puts a lot of Baraka in that time, you're able to take care of a lot of different things. Why do you think Subhanallah look at the world that we live in? What time does everyone go to work to the goal in the morning, right? Because
this is the time when everything, all the hustle and bustle is taking place. And this is the best time to be productive. The second thing that we learned from the Prophet sallallahu, ala he was sending him was learning how to prioritize. See there is nothing. There is no doubt in the fact that everyone is busy. But there's also no doubt in the fact that no one was more busier, and no one had more on their plate. Then Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam the Prophet SAW Selim was not just an ordinary man, he was a prophet of Allah, he had a responsibility, he had a mission. So part of that mission is that you have to entertain and take care of delegates, you have to take care of your
own Sahaba you have to teach you have to preach. And not only that, but he had family. And there's other our family where we till we have only one spouse, here, the problem is that we had multiple wives. That means that giving all their all them time, the problem is, Oh, someone had multiple children giving all them time. How did the person do that he prioritized? And how do you prioritize? This is where a lot of times we think that it is cliche to say this, but I always say this, it is very important that we make a list of things that we have to do. And then we prioritize this is high priority. This is medium priority. And this is low priority. You know, I was reading a book one time
about how to be productive. And in that book, the author, he gives a very good suggestion. Or he gives an example actually, he says, imagine if you had a bucket, and you had to fill in rocks, what's the very first thing that you would do is that before you put in the small rocks, or the small pebbles, you're put in the big rocks and you're trying to fit, try to find a way to fit in the big rocks. Once you have fit in those big rocks into the bucket, then you're able to fit all those pebbles and all the empty space between those big rocks is able to be covered by those small pebbles. Likewise, when it comes to our daily routine, and the things that we have take care of, we
have to create a list. These are our items of priority and the other things will be taken care of in the middle. So
This is something that we really need to do had the pulse on now prioritize. The Prophet SAW somewhere, I've never been able to achieve what he was able to achieve in the span of 23 years. Today, we spent 23 years 23 years go by 30 years go by, and where we have what have we achieved, not so much. So this is why we have to understand the importance of prioritizing. So the very first thing is, to be wise our time and to use our time wisely is, number one, try to wake up early, and try to do most of your things in the beginning of the day. Number two is prioritize. Number three, very important, especially for our youth, keeping yourself busy. See, they say in English, an empty
mind is a devil's workshop. If you have absolutely nothing to do Shavon will make you come and he will destroy your time. And not only that, but he will make you misuse your time. See, if you misuse your time, then not only will you have regret in this dunya but you will have a regret in the hereafter too. So this is why it is so important that you keep yourself occupied. Otherwise you will misuse your time and you will indulge yourself and things that are not pleasing to Allah subhanho wa taala. You know, this is why I honestly say this, I'm not making this up. I have honestly given this advice before. I've had people come to me, I've had a youth who have come to me before and they said
that, you know, I have been indulging in wrong company and so forth. What should I do? Do you have any solution? Now one solution, I can just sit there and say, you know, sit there have Taqwa you know, praise the Lord. And these are all good things. But what I did with a youngster is I asked him that, can you please tell me? What is your daily schedule like? Now when I told this youngster that told me what your daily schedule is like, like this youngster was shocked, that he's telling me that I hear I have a problem. And you're asking me my daily schedule. And I told him, I said, you know, tell me your daily schedule. So he shared with me his daily schedule, you know, was the first advice
I gave him. I said, you need to take more courses in school, and you need to get a job. So he took more, he picked up a few more courses in school. And then he got a job. But he comes to me after a while and he says, I'm still you know, I'm still hanging out with the wrong crowd. You know, I had suggested that person get a second job. And after he got a second job, he came back to me some time and he says, Now I don't have time to do anything wrong. Like all my time is being occupied, whether I'm studying, or I have two jobs. Now I'm occupied with that. And that's the key thing. Keeping yourself busy is so important. This is why Imam No, we're not meant to lay the author of the other
side of your hand, he said, If I have to give out a task, or I have to give a responsibility to someone, I would rather give the responsibility to someone who is busy in their life. Because if I come across someone who has free time, or someone who is busy, I can enlarge quickly, what we would we would do is that we will say that you know what, this person is too busy. Let me give it to this person who is who has free time on his hands. But you might know. He says, I would rather give it to the person who's busy. You know why? Because the person who's busy, knows how to get work done. They know how to be productive in their life for the most part, and the person who is free? How can you
be free? Like this an email? No, no, he's logic, like, how can you be free, there are so many things that we can do in our life to stay occupied. So this is why in times like these, that where we have to be at home, how many of our kids are saying, Oh, I'm so bored, or how many of our youngsters have absolutely nothing to do. And how many people in general are spending so much time on Netflix and Hulu and Amazon Prime and so forth. I'm not saying that not spending time at all on those things, at times we do need a break. But at the same time I am saying that try to prioritize things, try to do things that can be productive to yourself and Shala and that will be productive to you in this dunya
and akhira. And the last thing I would suggest is and this is where we need to ask ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala for Baraka in our time. See, Baraka does not necessarily mean more. Like you know, when we say baraka and wealth, it doesn't mean that I want more wealth. It means that oh Allah give me such blessings in my world or make my wealth so blessed it that whatever a person is able to achieve in so much money, Allah is able to take care of my needs in the money that we have. When I say Baraka in time, it doesn't mean that we have more time, like other people are gonna get 24 hours I'm gonna get 30 hours during the day. We'll all have 24 hours in a day. But Baraka in time means that Allah
gives us the ability
to achieve our goals in the time that we have, and other people are not able to achieve those goals, if they don't have Baraka in their time, so bircham in time means that we're able to achieve our goals in the time that has given been given to us by Allah subhanho wa taala. And not only that, but we're able to take care of other things in the same 24 hours. So this is why we should ask ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala for Baraka, once again, I conclude the segment by saying that once again, there are two blessings as the Prophet SAW Allah Allah was telling us that many people will have regret some time in their life about one is free time and one is health. I ask Allah subhana wa Taala to give
all of us the ability to use these two things very wisely. And if we're not you we're not using them wisely. Ask Allah subhanaw taala to protect us from doing any kind of haram in the midst in when the free time that we have or the health that we have we ask Allah subhana wa Taala to give us ability to use them wisely and properly.
