is to bring in the consciousness of your maker.

In Arabic, it is known as Taqwa.

Allah says in the Quran in the little muda Cana Mufasa. Indeed for the people of Taqwa is Mufasa ie victory in this world as well as the hereafter. So for a believer, this is the bedrock This is the foundation that we build our chapters upon. So Taqwa is the foundation. You place this foundation and whatever you build, so long as it is good, you will succeed with the permission of Allah subhanho wa taala.

So marriage

Just beautiful. Marriage is a blessing. And if it is built upon the bedrock of taqwa, then the two spouses are blessed by Allah, their home is blessed by Allah. And as you can see, it is just not two individuals coming together two families coming together, the two families are going to be blessed by Allah. And it doesn't end there. The progeny the children that come through that union, they're going to be blessed by Allah generations are going to be blessed by Allah subhanho wa taala. To illustrate this, I want to share a story with you all and with that will conclude because I don't want to keep Ahmed waiting too long. He wants to sign and you know, share Hi, I want to sell off

There was a young boy

his name was Thabeet.

He was a student of knowledge. He was seeking knowledge. He was learning Hadith, a hadith he was learning the Quran, he was a student of knowledge. Now, he was not from an affluent background. He was not from an affluent background. He came from a poverty stricken background. So he was finding it very difficult to make ends meet one day.

Hunger, hunger, acute hunger drives him out of his house. Not the type of hunger that drives you and me out in the middle of the night to perhaps grab a cup or two or something like that. No, we're talking about acute hunger. When he has no food at home. So hungry. He comes out because he's so hungry. He comes out and he's walking, thinking what am I to do? I'm so hungry. And then what happens? He passes by your garden. He passes by what? A garden and orchard and there is this overhanging branch with juicy apples hanging.

Hunger clouds is judgment. He grabs an apple, he bites into it because he's so hungry. No sooner he baked into the apple. And now to a certain extent his hunger has been satiated. His mind clears up and he realizes Allahu Akbar, what have I done? What have I done? I have literally consumed something that is not permitted. It is not mine.

And this is where you realize how conscious he is. I mean, you and I, we take it lightly. Right. How many mangoes have we taken from the neighbor's gardens? Yeah, when we were young.

But here he is. He's bitten into an apple. And he's realized the gravity, the seriousness of it, this does not belong to me even this single morsel. I don't want something haram to go into my body. I will have to answer for this in front of Allah. And now he's struggling. And then he realizes the only way to make this right is I have to go to the owner of the garden and take permission. So he finds out who the owner of the orchard is. And he goes to this owners house and he knocks on the door. The owner comes and he sees the young boy he asks him What do you want young man? Then the young boy generates the entire story. He tells him how hungry he was. And he was passing the garden.

He took an apple and he ate.

And now he wants to make it right. He wants to seek permission for it. Please make it halal for me, this man was an intelligent man. He looks at the young boy. And he says,

No, I can't.

No, I'm not going to make it halal for you. And he goes back into his house that this was a test by the man. He wanted to see how far this boy would go with this. He goes back into his house and he comes back after a while after a few hours. The boys still stay seated at the doorstep says young man Have you not gotten the boy please? He says do you want me to beg? Please make it halal for me, I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it halal. The man asks the boy are you willing to do whatever it takes? The boy says yes I am to make it halal because this temporary discomfort in this world is better than permanent discomfort in the hereafter.

Then the man says Fine.

I will make it halal for you. Now listen to me

Now young men like Achmed, mashallah young boy, his eyes lit up.

But then he puts everything straight by getting his priorities straight. He's thinks to himself, If this is the price I have to pay to make it halal. So be it I'm going to do it. He says I agree. I agree to accept your daughter's hand in marriage. The man smiles and he says okay, fine. Come the following Thursday. The date is set. The Thursday comes

and one can only imagine this young man must have been dragging his feet because he doesn't know what he's going to get himself into. He comes and mashallah it is a gathering the Nikka has done everything is done. The father of the girl now takes the groom to his girl his daughter's

bedroom and drops him off there.

The young man now with a lot of hesitancy with a lot of anxiety goes into the room. He goes into the room. And you know, involuntarily he says a Salam o alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu. And then only then he realizes perhaps she cannot speak so she may not be able to response. Lo and behold,

he can see the silhouette of a young girl. She responds in the most beautiful of voices while it comes Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakato

he's blown away. She turns around and she starts walking towards him. And his eyes fall on the most beautiful woman. Beautiful hair cascading down her shoulders, and she comes towards him. And as a mark of respect, she kisses his hand.

And he's surprised she sees the shock on his face. And she asks him, Oh, my husband, why are you looking so shocked and surprised?

Then he starts blurting out he says, But your father said that you cannot speak your father said that you cannot see their father said that you cannot hear your father said that you cannot walk.

Then the girl smiles and she says My father has spoken the truth.

He said I cannot see. Because I cannot see and I have not seen anything that would displease Allah subhanahu wa taala. He said that I cannot speak because my tongue will not utter and has not uttered anything that would displease Allah subhanho wa taala. He said I cannot hear because I cannot hear and I have not heard anything that would displease ALLAH SubhanA Jota and he said I cannot walk because my legs have never ever walked towards anything that would displease Allah subhanho wa Taala My dear brothers and sisters, this union this Nikka this marriage Subhanallah

Do you know

of the child that was born through this wedlock? This blessed union, this beautiful marriage, built on Taqwa built on piety think about it, the boy trying to make that apple that little bit of apple halal. Getting married to this girl who has literally almost never done anything that would displease Allah from the time of coming age coming of age.

The child that was born through this wedlock was none other than the legend.

The great Imam who filled this entire world with his knowledge, his madhhab is one of the most followed must haves in the entire world. Al Imam Abu Hanifa Rahim Allah.

Allahu Akbar. So my dear brothers and sisters, I leave you all with this reminder. Whatever you do in your lives, be it marriage, be it a business, be it a new initiative, whatever it may be, every single chapter of your lives every single second of your life, ensure that it is infused with taqwa, the consciousness of Allah subhanho wa taala. And if you do that, no doubt you will be successful in this world as well as the hereafter.
