The Catastrophe of Karbala

grandchildren of the Prophet sallallahu sallam. So they were very, very special. So after the Prophet sallallahu Sallam passed away, these children had a very special place in the prophets heart, and they were respected for that reason. Right? So they were known as the children of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. They were also known as the family of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam Ahlul Bayt, okay. ahlulbayt is an Arabic term, which means the family, right? ahlulbayt means family. So, when we use the term ahlulbayt in Islam, we mean the family, the immediate family of the Prophet sallallahu sallam. So, the children of Fatima rhodiola ohana and Ali bin Vitaly rhodiola.

One, their children were called the ahlulbayt. Okay, primarily children who came from Hassan and Hussein. So Hassan and Hussein radi Allahu wa, both very, very special people, for the reasons I have already explained. So, before I go to the incident of Karbala, I want to tell the story of what happened before Karbala, or what caused the incident of Karbala. Karbala is a place in Iraq, where a great catastrophe took place. were killed in this place called Karbala in Iraq. And this happened in 61 Hijri. Okay, this happened almost 50 years after the prophets that sallallahu alayhi wasallam prophet died in 11 Hijri. And this incident happened in 61 Hijri. So remember that this incident took place 50 years after the prophets, death sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Right. So why did this incident happen? Okay, and why is it a great catastrophe? I will quickly tell the story, how things got so bad that one of the grandsons of the Prophet, one of the most beloved persons to the Prophet sallallahu Sallam was killed by so called Muslims in a place called Karbala, which is in current day Iraq. Okay, so

firstly, let me explain the history very quickly after the Prophet

Abu Bakar Allah one, he came to power for two years. children of his cousins. So this was a large number of one family, maybe 70 to 80 people, right. And most males, most male members of the family were killed in this battle, is called the Battle of Karbala. When these 5000 people from Kufa, led by a few men from below the Sham from Syria, who were sent by xid. When these people collectively they killed the most beloved people to the Prophet salallahu salam, they killed some of the most noble people alive in the world. At the time, some of the most pious, some of the most upright, some of the most moral people in the world, some of the most islamically important people in the world, and before they kill the Hussein for the lajuan. before they fought him for saying, he asked, he asked them, he asked them, Do you know who I am? And they all said, Yes, we know who you are.

He asked him, Do you not know I am the same person that Prophet used to lift on his shoulders. I am the same person about whom the Prophet said that he is one of the leaders of the youth of paradise. He is one of the leaders of the youngsters of Jana.

And they said yes, we know you are that person. And then he asked them and yet you want to kill me you want to attack me? Despite all these reminders, these unfortunate people of Iraq, and some of them from below the sham. They collectively killed Hussain radula. Warren, and his cousin's his children, and his male relatives, and the only male survivor of this battle was zainul. So these people of Iraq, predominantly, and some of them from Syria, they will face Allah's wrath. On the day of judgment, also, they they already faced Allah's wrath, Allah anger in this life, as I already clarified, okay. So this was the Battle of Karbala, which took place in 61. He and the killing took place on the 10th of Muharram. The 10th of Muharram was the day when all of these blessing people were massacred, killed by these unfortunate creatures from Iraq, these treacherous people, these hypocritical

And those who were sincere followers of Ali, so those people still exist today, unfortunately, and the differences are still very much alive. And that battle

still affects the Muslims to this day, right? So this was a very, very
