Taqwa In Islam

I don't think anybody doesn't know him Mashallah. He is a well known personality in Toronto. Dr. Abdullah Hakim quick, is an international scholar, speaker, dour worker, and historian. He has traveled to more than 51 countries in his quest for knowledge and in order to spread the knowledge about Islam and issues affecting this society in general.

He has a BA degree from the Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia, and his history background is shaped by Ma and a PhD from the history department of the University of Toronto for over 10 years. Dr. Quick was the director of Islam, Islamic social services, and resources Association, one of the Canada's first recognized Islamic social services agencies. Presently Shaykh Abdullah is residing in Toronto and he is the head of the history department of Alma grip Institute and a Director of Outreach for the Canadian Council of imams. As to what follows my beloved brothers and sisters. I begin by cautioning myself and you to have Taqwa, allow for a job that we fear Allah azza wa jal, and we hope in the mercy of Allah.

And this creates a type of consciousness around us, our consciousness of Allah, which will protect us not only inside of the masjid, but outside of the mustard.

taqwa Allah gives us that shield

that protects us spiritually, not only on Juma but all throughout the week.

And it is of critical importance for Muslims today.

To be constantly focusing on the Creator of the heavens in the earth, we have to hold on to the rope of Allah.

And as we move toward the Day of Resurrection,

as we move toward the Yama,

we will find strange events happening.

We will find humanity going into

a strange phase of existence, like that which never happened before.

Like a form of insanity. And as we get closer and closer to the hour, and the prophet SAW Selim did not speak from himself, he spoke from above seven heavens.

And we see what is happening today.

On the ground,

we see the Muslim world rising. We see over 26% of the earth's population,

the majority of Muslims young people.

We see Muslims in key strategic positions, especially in the Western countries, in educational systems in technical positions in it positions, doctors, lawyers, accountants, people in key strategic positions, openly practicing their Islam.

We also see and it is not hidden anymore. Clear teachings of peace and tolerance.

Clear teachings of justice.

We see within our writings,

clear discussions against unwanted violence or terrorism.

But yet despite this, and despite the fact that Muslim blood right now is shedding, probably more than anybody else on earth,

and the recent situation in Bangladesh,

where you see now over 1000 people killed in this factory, this is just the tip of the iceberg as to what is happening within our lands. And yes, Alhamdulillah there are some very enlightened people in these lands, there are some people amongst the writers and leaders who have consciousness. But my question is, where is the outcry?

Where is the outcry? When Muslim blood is spilled? We have a full page articles on this.

Where is the focus of the armies of the world's

people dying in Syria 1000s of people were the nations of the world who have the the ability to end the fighting.

And still, as we travel in the different parts of the Muslim community, we find a general feeling of paranoia like Islamophobia. We find a tension on the street, even though we clearly stand for what is right.

We must not forget that the prophet SAW seldom did not speak from himself. In this Hadith, the prophet SAW Selim is reported to have said they will come upon the people years of deceit, in which the liar will be believed and the truthful will be considered a liar.

And through the example of the prophet SAW Selim, it will make clear to us how much Allah azza wa jal has has blessed us. It is crucial for us holding on to the rope of Allah. Following the example in the Sunnah of the prophet SAW Salah

in times of darkness, and as it gets more and more difficult, we should grab on to the rope of Allah stronger.

As times get stranger in front of us as people start to do strange things in front of us. Then we should cling on to the Sunnah of the Prophet a subtle Salaam even more

We have to let people know who wants to divide up the community. We don't want to be divided anymore. Yes, I might pray slightly different than you. But there are different forms of prayer in the Sunnah.

We are all united we are Qibla the people of the Qibla

and that should bring love in your heart. If you see a brother and sister praying to Allah azza wa jal fasting, giving the cat regardless of their nationality, regardless of the language that they speak.

We also have to change the way we spend our money.

Some of our money has to go to the most vulnerable people in our community, the refugees who are suffering in the Muslim world and hungry here in Toronto.

Also, some of our leaders, if they speak out, they will be put into jail,

who will come who will come to their rescue, who will be in back of them, homeless people, handicapped people, some of our wealth will have to now go in order to protect ourselves in this very critical phase of existence. We will also have to focus on the youth. The youth are the majority of the Muslims, but many of the youth are not in the in the massage.

So we will need to go out to the youth.

Bring them into neutral programs, encourage them with Islam, as the prophet SAW Selim

Stir encourages his his companions. also people who embrace Islam, every community needs to have a strong program for the new Muslims Alhamdulillah this Masjid has excellent work for the new Muslim, but it needs to be all over the city. And we need to cooperate with each other. And finally, we need to see ultimately as our goal and our main mission, to reach out to this society. But if we don't speak to them, if we don't communicate with them and show them what Islam is, how can you expect them to come to our defense within this
