00:00:19--> 00:00:20

Greetings Somalia.

00:00:23--> 00:00:24

Today we are fortunate enough to have

00:00:25--> 00:00:33

with us. He's come from South Africa and spent time here in have two lectures, one of them being today and tomorrow at 930.

00:00:34--> 00:00:35

After the hacking quick,

00:00:36--> 00:00:49

has the distinction of being one of the first American to go to the University of Medina. He did his bachelor's from there. And then he continued on with his Master's and PhD from the University of Toronto, and

00:00:51--> 00:00:55

he did in African history. So he's basically more of a historian also.

00:00:57--> 00:01:01

He's traveled wide and far to over 50 countries lecturing.

00:01:02--> 00:01:06

Now without further delay, sisters ladies gentlemen,

00:01:08--> 00:01:12

rock Manor Rahim. Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen

00:01:13--> 00:02:00

wa Shah, Russia ilaha illallah wa Sallim wa Chateau under Mohammed Abdul Allah solo. Fatima NBR. He will mostly Allahumma salli wa salam ala Abdi kavala seleka Muhammad Ali he will be as my robot. All praises are due to Allah, Lord of the worlds and surely Allah is the friend and protector of the righteous. And I've been witnessing, Allah has one and has no partners that Mohammed the son of Abdullah is a servant and his last messenger. May Allah always and constantly send peace and blessings to Mohammed to his family and his companions and all those who call to his way and establish his Sunnah to the day of judgments as to what follows my beloved brothers and sisters, our

00:02:00--> 00:02:06

guests, our friends, I begin with the greeting words of the righteous. Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullah.

00:02:08--> 00:02:59

And these are the words of peace, and to our non Muslim friends and visitors who are here tonight, I pray that this would be a source of peace, and also a source of understanding. And I want to also bring to you greetings from the southern hemisphere, on the southern part of Africa, from the people who are living in that region. This is an area where there is great opportunity, there is great hope, because people of different religions, and different nationalities and different colors are speaking to each other, they are dialoguing with each other. And so there is great opportunity for the society to overcome violence and hatred in building in the world. But at the same time, it is

00:02:59--> 00:03:13

also a place where there is great despair. It is the epicenter of the HIV AIDS pandemic. Also there is a great imbalance between the rich and the poor.

00:03:15--> 00:04:08

And so, the people who are entering into Islam, and are now understanding the message of Islam, looking to the Muslim world, looking at the sources of Islam, for guidance, and I want to seek refuge in the words of Allah azza wa jal inserts the Tanakh and especially in the times that we are living in today, when the Muslim world finds itself in great crisis, and there is great pressure apply to us. But Allah tells us will Mija tequila ah Allahu Maharaja Zhu min highschooler yassa, who may have Romania to work at a law firm for her husband, in the law, how badly for somebody pachala who liquidly Shea in Petra. Allah tells us that whoever keeps his duty to Allah has the

00:04:08--> 00:04:16

consciousness of Allah, that Allah will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he knows not.

00:04:17--> 00:04:20

And wherever depends upon a lot of Allah is sufficient for him.

00:04:21--> 00:04:30

Surely Allah will reach his purpose, and he has made a limit for everything. So there is a limit to oppression.

00:04:32--> 00:04:34

There is a limit to exploitation.

00:04:35--> 00:04:54

And we have to continue to pray that Allah would bless this world, even though we are going through very dangerous changes now, but that allow it bless us to come out of this century of strife that the world could return to a state of peace.

00:04:55--> 00:04:59

Recently, I was asked to go to a set of

00:05:00--> 00:05:37

islands off the coast of East Africa. These are known as the Seychelles chains. They're in the Seychelles, a group of Muslims were having an exhibition. They wanted to display to the people of the Seychelles. What Islam really was to open up doors that had been hidden to the population for many years. And while we were there, on this island chain, we came across a very strange place. And this is called logic, the islands of logic.

00:05:38--> 00:05:51

And what is strange about it is that the makeup of this island, the rock formations are very strange, once it combined with the vegetation

00:05:52--> 00:05:57

gives you the feeling that you've actually gone back in time.

00:05:58--> 00:06:15

And the Seychelles chain are the only islands in the world that are made from granite. Most islands are made either from coral, or from volcanoes. These are granite islands. And according to scientists,

00:06:17--> 00:06:18

many years ago,

00:06:20--> 00:07:18

over 200 million years ago, approximately the continents that we know as Africa, and Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Antarctica, South America will all combine together, it was one landmass with a major change in the earth. It split up this Gondwana continent split up into the continents that we know. But somehow, the Seychelles was in the middle. And it didn't go to either of the continents, it stayed by itself in the middle of the granite formations. So it's a unique place. And when you are there, you feel as though you are going back in time, you feel as though you are 100,000 years back in time. And it reminded me of a very important project that took place in South

00:07:18--> 00:07:34

Africa, where a group of scientists came together and studied the geology, archaeology, history of the planet. And they came to the conclusion that we are living in the sixth extinction.

00:07:35--> 00:08:10

That over the past 500 million years, there have been a number of major planetary changes on Earth, that every 100 million years or so, the depth of the dominant species on the planet disappeared, became extinct, whether it was asteroid impact, or temperature change, carbon dioxide increase, whatever the reason was, for some reason, for some reason only known known by Allah subhanaw taala,

00:08:11--> 00:08:14

the dominant species disappeared.

00:08:16--> 00:08:20

But this extinction, which is the sixth major extinction,

00:08:21--> 00:08:23

this is a different one.

00:08:24--> 00:08:45

Because the major factor behind the extinction of mammal life, and bird life, are human beings. In the past, it was events, big events that happen to the earth. But this time, it is because of human beings.

00:08:46--> 00:08:46

And

00:08:48--> 00:09:01

what is happening around us is that because of what we as a human race have done, we are literally destroying the natural world that has been set out as a place of

00:09:02--> 00:09:06

relaxation for the existence

00:09:07--> 00:09:08

of our race.

00:09:09--> 00:09:12

According to the historians in this project,

00:09:13--> 00:09:31

they looked at human life over the past 100,000 years. And they looked at the waves of humans going out first out of Africa, into Europe and Asia. And then the second major wave from out of Asia into the Americas and into the Pacific region.

00:09:33--> 00:09:37

But the third way, which is the best studied way.

00:09:38--> 00:09:41

This according to historians and scientists

00:09:42--> 00:09:53

took place after what is known as the European Renaissance. This is somewhere around the 15th century, and human beings came out of Europe

00:09:55--> 00:09:59

and then spread around the planet, colonizing territory

00:10:00--> 00:10:18

exploiting the land, burning crops ravaging the surface of the earth. Planting cash crops, also decimating the Aboriginal populations until it reached the point where we see the planet today.

00:10:20--> 00:10:35

And now that things are happening on the planet, people are starting to wake up, and to look around and try to understand what is really happening, because the earth is no longer being a place of nourishment,

00:10:36--> 00:10:39

it is actually becoming a punishment to us.

00:10:40--> 00:11:40

And it is now estimated that somewhere around 70 to 90% of the tropical rain forests on earth have been destroyed. It is also estimated that of the earth species, different species, half of the species on Earth are gone. This is the sixth extinction, and especially mammals and bird life, over half of the known species have disappeared without any ability to cut back. And so, with this type of destruction going on, and with a massive amount of carbon dioxide, that is being released into the atmosphere, we have entered into what is known as a green house effect the greenhouse period where the ozone layer surrounding the earth, which was created by Allah subhanaw taala, in order to

00:11:40--> 00:11:47

protect us actually is allowing the ultraviolet rays of the sun to penetrate.

00:11:48--> 00:12:09

And so it is like a greenhouse with stuck inside. And the heat is not heat is being stuck. And we are literally seeing massive changes in the environment happening around us. And so the recent floods, temperature changes, hurricanes,

00:12:10--> 00:12:27

earthquakes, the language being spoken now, is the extremes. It is said that the recent floods in Bangladesh and India that took place, they say it is the largest floods in living memories.

00:12:28--> 00:12:30

That's the terminology being used.

00:12:32--> 00:12:40

The temperature rise in the 2000s, the 21st century, it is the hottest years

00:12:41--> 00:12:49

on written record, since people have been recording information, these are the hottest times that has ever existed.

00:12:51--> 00:13:42

And so, what is happening is that we are reaching extremes. And because of this heat, the polar ice caps are melting in the north, and in the south. And recently Now, you may have seen the news coming out that far in the north, and where I am coming from Canada from that region, they are farther north. There are islands which are appearing in in the ocean landmass that is appearing that nobody ever knew about before. It was covered with ice. And now it is appearing. And they're fighting over is it Russia? Or is it Canada, they're fighting over it as to who actually owns it when we know it is owned by the Creator of the heavens in the earth. But what is important is the level that this is

00:13:42--> 00:14:05

reaching now, today, extreme levels. And it is interesting to note that Allah subhanaw taala has revealed in the last book, revealed a message that was not only relevant in the time of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, but will be relevant until the Day of Resurrection.

00:14:06--> 00:14:46

And so the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, who saw himself not as the first prophet of Islam. But he saw Islam and his role as the seal as the last of a series of prophets and messages that included Ibrahim, Abraham, alehissalaam, Moses, Jesus, all of the great prophets of monotheism. May Allah be pleased with them and said peace to them, that the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and his message is the factor of the Seal of these messages. And an interesting verse 41 in Serato, wrote the chapter of Rome.

00:14:47--> 00:14:59

It says to us, or even the shape of the regime, the hotel facade to fill battery, well baja PMR kassapa ins Levy, the levy abbulu la la viaggio

00:15:00--> 00:15:24

corruption has appeared on the land and the sea, because of what people's hands have earned. And we will make them taste something of what they have done in order that they would return to the path. So this verse is saying, corruption has appeared on the land and the sea, the huddle, facade,

00:15:25--> 00:15:26

mischief

00:15:28--> 00:16:28

and the great scholars of Islam, in looking at this verse, especially Raghavan, as for honey in his book, very well forgotten port, and when he looked at some of the strange words in the port, and he found that this word for sad means actually, Kuru, just shake it down talyllyn oka theory, it is when something goes away from balance, when it becomes unbalanced, a little bit or a lot, that this is a corruption, it is for sad. So it is a corruption of the present of the air it down the balance that Allah subhanaw taala has set up in the universe, there is a balance outside of the planetary world, there is a balance in the vegetation, on the earth and animal life and human life all types

00:16:28--> 00:17:14

of life, there is a certain balance. And whenever we go outside of that balance, that it becomes corruption. The opposite of this balance is solid. That is something that is sound, or something repaired something online, which is balanced. This is the opposite of the corruption. And it's interesting that the companions of the Prophet peace be upon him, some of the great Sahaba, when they looked at this verse, They discussed this verse, but other of the liability must root Abdullah, even Dr. bass and many people commented on this person, they said, what could allow have meant by corruption on the earth and facade from birth.

00:17:15--> 00:18:08

And one of the meanings very interesting is that this would be a decrease in animal life and vegetation on the earth, because of the sins of human beings, the children of Adam and Eve, because of this, a decrease in animal life, vegetation. Also, there would be a decrease in the ocean, in the seas, and we see it coming to pass now, literally, that on Earth, we are literally losing different species in the oceans, we find that fish are being destroyed, pollution has spread around the world, our rivers are polluted. lakes are polluted parts of the ocean being polluted, especially along the coastlines. And the first continues, corruption has appeared on the land in the sea, because of what

00:18:08--> 00:18:09

people have done.

00:18:10--> 00:18:19

We will make them taste something of what they have heard that they will return to the past. So we taste it now. We taste acid rain,

00:18:20--> 00:18:23

we taste pollution in the water.

00:18:24--> 00:18:27

In the UK, they have this mad cow disease,

00:18:28--> 00:18:58

right viruses in their cows. So they taste the corruption. Why do they taste it? The Allahu biagio in order they will return to the path. And so it is so not a law that is coming to pass. It is something happening in front of us. And we have to be aware of what is happening. And recently the president of the Maldives islands, which is off the coast of India in the Indian Ocean.

00:19:00--> 00:19:05

Check up delta u he addressed a gathering of the nations and he said

00:19:06--> 00:19:22

the Maldives is one of the smallest states we are not in a position to change the course of events in the world. But what you do or do not do will greatly influence the fate of my people.

00:19:23--> 00:19:38

It can also change the course of history. What was he talking about? Now only in recent months, it is becoming clearer and clearer. the Greenland ice shelf

00:19:39--> 00:19:59

which have frozen which was a frozen, a huge formation of ice in the northern part of the world is melting down. And if this continues to melt, the ocean could be rising by meters, and this would be catastrophic. It would be catastrophic.

00:20:00--> 00:20:14

For the island states, and it is possible last summer holla May Allah forbid, that island states like the Maldives, or the other Comoros, or the Seychelles could be literally underwater.

00:20:15--> 00:20:16

It also means

00:20:18--> 00:20:27

that cities on coastlines with reclaimed land could also find their reclaimed land underwater.

00:20:28--> 00:20:30

And I'm not just talking about here.

00:20:32--> 00:20:45

But that's obvious. I'm talking even about Cape Town, where I'm living now that a whole section of the waterfront area with the highest real estate is on reclaimed land.

00:20:46--> 00:20:56

And if the ocean rises, all of this would be underwater, and the coastline would be at a famous place called the Table Mountain, this would become the coastline.

00:20:57--> 00:21:02

And so it is coming to pass. And unfortunately, recent

00:21:03--> 00:21:07

calculations have found that from 1750,

00:21:09--> 00:21:23

from 1750, we have released more carbon dioxide and methane at any time, at any time, in the past 650,000 years.

00:21:24--> 00:21:26

This is how crazy it is.

00:21:27--> 00:21:40

And so it has reached the point where human beings will have to come together. And I believe seriously that within the next 10 to 20 years, that the present world that we know.

00:21:41--> 00:22:03

And the borders that we know and the countries that we know is going to change. And we will be forced to come together as a human race, we will be forced to re analyze how we organize our countries, how we organize our families, what is the intention how we deal with technology,

00:22:04--> 00:22:28

we will have to analyze this to look at where we stand. And it is crucial for our people of our conscious consciousness. And for Muslims to come together to try to deal with this reality that we are facing on the earth. The United Nations has recently released interesting information.

00:22:29--> 00:22:43

This is another point to consider as I go into the final part of this topic. And that is that we are living in the largest generation of young people that has ever existed

00:22:45--> 00:22:46

in human history.

00:22:47--> 00:23:06

It's the largest generation of young people. And they estimate and usually the United Nations has not done us well, actually. But when it comes to international information, gathering information, they have an excellent system of gathering this information to help us understand what is happening globally.

00:23:07--> 00:23:30

Their estimate is 48% of the world population is under 24 years old 48% of people on earth in Africa 60% of the population of Africa, under 25 years old 60% of the people.

00:23:32--> 00:24:07

And this is very serious, especially when we look at the activities within our communities. For the Muslims, especially how many programs do we have for young people within our communities? Do we have recreation? Do we have a way for a young person to grow up and then come and find themselves in a state of Islam as an adult. And so because of this is very interesting. They have focused on certain points as the major crisis issues. These are major crisis issues for the world.

00:24:08--> 00:24:13

And you see it played out in different societies, not all of them everywhere.

00:24:14--> 00:24:21

But you will see these points. Number one, one of the greatest crises of the younger generation

00:24:22--> 00:25:00

of people on this earth is violence. It is violence, state violence, occupation of countries, and also criminal violence that takes place within the societies where people are struggling over materials and fighting over things in their cities. Secondly, the erosion of traditional values, the erosion of traditional values, and you'll see in most of societies, people living in China, people living in the Arab world, living in India, living in all parts of the world in Africa.

00:25:00--> 00:25:11

You say to the younger generation, and they're becoming the majority, you take your food. And then you say, what would you like for dinner? And they tell you, I want to go to McDonald's. I

00:25:12--> 00:25:15

want to go to McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken.

00:25:17--> 00:25:23

I like pizza. This is Italian food. Everybody's eating Italian food all over the world.

00:25:24--> 00:25:31

Why is it just as we were coming now, I saw an interesting site. It said McDonald's has date pies.

00:25:32--> 00:26:21

With a crescent. It's made for dates, especially for Muslims fasting, right? So you can break your fast with McDonald's and be sued now. You see, this is the mcdonaldization of culture. That's literally what it is. What does it do? It erodes traditional values, the systems that we have developed in our countries, that young people respect their parents, right the culture, especially the Muslims who have sundown, which is something that affects the way we eat, the way we dress, the way we relate to each other. It gets eroded. And it gets confused. And another type of global culture takes over. That causes confusion in the minds of the younger generation, and then turns

00:26:21--> 00:26:59

people into consumers who only care about making money and buying things, and then adding and putting their material things up. And then judging another person, not by their taqwa, not by their piety or their character, but judging them by the materials, they have the shoes that they are wearing, the cell phone, what kind of cell phone are you talking on? What kind of car you're driving, judging people by this, so erodes traditional values. The third point brought up by the United Nations is that one of the great crises facing the young, the younger generation today is poverty.

00:27:00--> 00:27:29

And this part of the world has been blessed with wealth, but in southern part of Africa, and in Asia, in many parts of the world, you will find malnutrition. And you will find 1000s of people living in shacks, light conditions, and conditions you would never believe could actually be set up for human life. But this is the reality that is happening in the world. And the overwhelming majority of the people today are actually starving, and have malnutrition.

00:27:31--> 00:28:02

The next point brought up by the United Nations. And it's interesting to compare, as we look at our own understanding, is disease, that disease would become one of the great crises in the world today. And we see this in southern Africa, maybe more than anybody else, because HIV AIDS has reached the point where there are some places in southern Africa, where 36% of the population are HIV positive 36% of the people.

00:28:03--> 00:28:57

The most active thing going on in many of the communities is genocide, its funerals. This is the biggest event that is happening in many of the township areas in southern Africa. Now, it's funerals of people who are literally dying from the HIV AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other diseases that are spreading through the land. The fifth point of the major crises that are facing the world today is drugs. It is the abuse of substances, like alcohol, and other drugs. And don't think that alcohol is not a drug. Because alcohol is drugs in liquid form. That's all it is. And it destroys the body, it destroys the mind. And you will see in the world today, as we go, a culture, a global culture

00:28:57--> 00:29:07

that is being pushed upon our societies, we have people who feel bad about themselves or depressed, they instead of turning to the Creator, they take a drink.

00:29:08--> 00:29:28

They turn to alcohol for comfort. They turn to drugs in order to escape the world. And what happens dependency, where the person becomes dependent on the drugs and then loses their values, loses their morals loses their their consciousness, and they are capable of doing almost anything.

00:29:30--> 00:29:59

We in southern Africa and South Africa, in particular, we are living in the epicenter of the drug crisis. Every known drug in the world has to pass through our country in between Colombia and Asia, where the drugs are coming through all the different forms of heroin, of cocaine, of LSD, of all the different types of drugs are passing through our country and having an impact on the society that we are living in.

00:30:00--> 00:30:05

And so in looking at this, we have to understand

00:30:06--> 00:30:42

that the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Last the long line of prophets, he did not speak from himself. But he spoke from above seven heavens. And this revelation this way of life is the last of the revealed major religions of monotheism, the last one to come to humanity, to help take us to a different plane of understanding, to take our responsibilities on earth, and to help us in all ways of life. And it is reported that the Prophet peace be upon him

00:30:43--> 00:30:44

that he,

00:30:45--> 00:30:57

in his last major sermon, called the mount arafat sermon, that he said to his followers, take this message, which is focusing on the oneness of God,

00:30:58--> 00:31:08

on the fact that we should not be exploiting each other. The fact that there is no preference of Arabs over non Arabs, or white over black or vice versa.

00:31:09--> 00:31:31

The fact that women should be protected and respected. It focused on this, and bringing society together in goodness. And he said to his followers, those who are present should take this to those who are upset, over 120,000 people, and they traveled to the four corners of the earth.

00:31:32--> 00:31:37

And this message, affected society in all types of ways.

00:31:38--> 00:31:43

The Prophet peace be upon him said al hikma dolla, under my watch, and

00:31:45--> 00:32:01

he said hikma wisdom, knowledge is the last property of a believer, anywhere he finds it, he is most deserving of this. And so the Muslims took the knowledge of the ancient ones, the knowledge of the ancient

00:32:02--> 00:32:29

Chinese, Indian, Middle East, Africa, the Greeks, the Romans, they took the wisdom of the Ancient Ones, and put it together with a Quranic understanding the last message, put it together in a new modern form, that could be used by society, to the Day of Resurrection. And so during this period of time,

00:32:31--> 00:33:07

and especially if we focus on the seventh century, between that and the 15th 16th century, this is the golden age of Islam. And this is called, by many historians, as the dark ages of Europe. And no doubt the lights went off. When the Roman Empire fell, knowledge was being held by monks in monasteries. But what is not recorded is that during that time, Muslims of all colors, all nationalities came together in Muslim spade, Al Andalus,

00:33:08--> 00:34:02

in North Africa, in the Middle East, in Asia, and they developed most of the modern sciences, the systems of science that we know in the world today. And so zero cifa, this is an Arabic word 012345, you're counting in Arabic numbers, algebra, trigonometry, calculus. He's all developed by the Muslims during this period of time, the basic scientific method alchimia, which is the basis of alchemy, from which comes chemistry, history, the systems of recording history, and objective way. And you can continue on and find that in most of the disciplines in the present university system, that Muslims during this period of time, were able to take this knowledge from around the world and

00:34:02--> 00:34:13

put it in a new form, based upon the revelation that had come to them. And so this society impacted the world. But remember,

00:34:14--> 00:34:59

the understanding of the waves of human culture. It is in the Renaissance period, which is not actually a renaissance of Europe. It was the Islamic Renaissance that was translated. Because the places in Europe where knowledge sprang up, were actually translation centers. And they translated the documents from the golden age of Islam, and were able to set the systems for the modern system for the modern world. But remember, this last wave of human life that goes out, it colonizes the earth. It decimates the Aboriginal populations, it exploits it burns the forests. It

00:35:00--> 00:35:43

controls the populations, and then it slaves, millions of people, takes them out of their homes and sends them around the world. It causes mass migrations. And so what happens is the world goes into a series of crisis. And Muslims have to remember who they are. We forget, sometimes we are, we forget that we are actually carrying with us the last message of the Prophet alayhi salatu salam, the last message that came from the Creator of the heavens in the earth. And so you find in the world today, there is a spiritual crisis. And people around the world

00:35:44--> 00:36:33

are now turning to magicians, fortune tellers, all over the world. Even in the industrialized countries, they turn to magicians, they are turning to people to tell their fortunes and even in America, there's a person named Edwards, john edwards, and he will stand you there on a stage. And then they say he has the power to talk to your dead ancestors. So as you stand there, he talks to your grandfather. And he says, Yes, this is your grandfather has come. He died about 20 years ago, and I'm talking to him now. Right? He's dead, right? But he contacts the spirit world. And so he says, I'm talking to your grandfather, he has a yellow sweater on. And he died from cancer. He died

00:36:33--> 00:37:18

from cancer. That's a good guess, because maybe half the population died of cancer. Do that 20 years ago, anyway, right? So he makes a good Yes. If you nod your head like yes, he continues. And this is watched on television by millions of people, millions of people. And you find in many countries now the magician's are coming forward, what is known in the Quran as a Sahara, the Sahara, the time of their own, they are coming forward with these types of Shahada of this magic, Voodoo obeah shango, which is coming forward in southern Africa, we have a terrible form of magic will not protect us from us, they do what is called moochie

00:37:19--> 00:37:55

and moochie, if they want power, in order to protect themselves from evil, or give you some benefit, they take a human being and they cut off one of his lips. And the more he screams is, the better it's gonna be. And they take that and they mix it up in the drink. Right? They make a strange potion, and then they make you drink it in order to get power from demonic forces. This is one of the most cruel forms of this magic, but it is a reality in the world. Muslims have what we would call a North America the Declaration of Independence. And that is

00:37:56--> 00:38:16

that is the opening chapter of the Quran, and especially in the spiritual crisis, yaka Naboo. Stein. This is the Declaration of Independence. Why? Because when we say that he aka Naboo, you alone, Allah, we worship, and from you alone, do we seek help

00:38:17--> 00:38:33

you then change your relationship with every other creature on earth, when we focus directly on the Creator of the heavens and the earth. And so we forget sometimes what we are carrying with us a message of straight spirituality.

00:38:34--> 00:39:28

The world also is going through economic crisis, because we are living in a time where people are printing paper notes. And the notes are supposed to equal the gold and silver in the bank, those notes that you have Dr. hamdeen out dollar pound euro, it's a promissory note. And it was developed in parts of Europe, from Venice, where if you traveled and you wanted to, you know, buy something 1000 miles away, instead of carrying the gold with you, if you're a businessman knew somebody in the place, he gives you a promissory note that said this note, I will pay back 500 pounds of gold. And that's on the note. Right? So this is a promise to pay it back. So when the bank gave you this, it's

00:39:28--> 00:39:33

a promise that the bank has got the gold to back up the note that you have.

00:39:34--> 00:39:59

The problem is today that people print more notes than they have gold and silver in the bank. And so it becomes it overflows. Right and then interest in usury comes in. And implosion happens, where it explodes within itself. And we see it coming about in America today. Because many people wanted US dollars. Some people still want US dollars.

00:40:01--> 00:40:03

But the dollar is going down What is happening?

00:40:05--> 00:40:07

America owes $7 trillion

00:40:08--> 00:40:15

to the bank $7 trillion in debt. But we all want US dollars.

00:40:16--> 00:40:25

What is happening? Why do you want this dollar when there's 7 trillion in debt, why? It's a trick, it's an illusion, or deception.

00:40:27--> 00:40:55

Put in front of your eyes, it doesn't equal the gold and silver. And so now it is coming back. And it's exploding from the inside, in what is called a recession, and it is coming to pass, we have the cure. In the Islamic system, we have an interest free economy, where people would not exploit each other economically, they would buy and sell with goods, with with gold and with

00:40:57--> 00:41:00

different types of things that have value in itself.

00:41:01--> 00:41:04

It has value in itself, we would buy and sell with this.

00:41:05--> 00:41:45

And not exploiting each other, for borrowing money from the bank, this interest free system, if it is developed on Earth, which changed the relationship of human beings with each other, it would change profoundly if it happened. And so within our system, there is hope for the future. The world also today is in a spirit is in a social crisis, a social crisis in terms of the family, family systems are breaking down. In many countries, marriage isn't a dangerous institution.

00:41:46--> 00:42:31

You're like endangered species, it's about to disappear. In some countries like Canada, more people have what they call common law marriages, than the regular marriage. You see somebody you like her, she likes you. So you live, you live together, let's go. You don't have to get married. You don't need to take any vows. You live together for five years. And then you say I'll see you later. And if you have children, they have to fend for themselves. This is causing confusion in societies and exploding also, on the inside. Also, people are confused about their own sexuality, confused who they are. And in some countries, the man he's john during the day, and he's j that night.

00:42:32--> 00:42:47

He changes. And sometimes you don't know who he is it just based on what kind of clothes he has on. So he's unsure of himself. And when he has that, I'm sure today will say no, you are a woman trapped in a man's body.

00:42:49--> 00:43:14

Come out of yourself. Be yourself. You're really a woman, right? But you just happened to have too much testosterone. So your beard is growing. But come out of yourself. This is causing confusion in the in the societies. And it is causing marriages to shut the breakdown, which is the building block of the society. So the whole society is then in a state of confusion.

00:43:16--> 00:43:48

And so Muslims have the last hope for you that the last hope is what the Muslim families and I heard this, I traveled far north into the Scandinavian countries. And farther north in the countries called Norway and Denmark and Sweden. Especially in Norway, the Norwegian people who are fishing people, country people, right, who have tradition of families. They respect the family type families.

00:43:49--> 00:44:06

This globalization that hits their society has caused such a confusion, the identity of the men being confused when Muslim men came. And I heard it from the lips of the women. Nine out of 10 people accepting Islam in Scandinavia are women.

00:44:07--> 00:44:43

And we say how is this when Islam has got a bad reputation for women, right? They propagandize mostly, they beat their wives. They oppress their women. And many Muslims do oppress, but Islam does not oppress. So when the Norwegian woman saw what Islam really was, and saw Muslim men practicing Islam, they entered Islam, and they said, You Muslim men. If you practice Islam, you are the last hope for the family. After this, there is no more.

00:44:44--> 00:44:59

And so it has come to pass. That Islam that we are blessed with a system of life that needs to be practiced. It needs somebody to implement this. We need some

00:45:00--> 00:45:07

Look into ourselves, to make the changes inside of ourselves and to be able to take the responsibility on Earth.

00:45:09--> 00:45:17

As we are told in the end, in the beginning of creation of humanity, Allah tells us in Ninja in one fell out the Khalifa.

00:45:18--> 00:46:00

I am creating I will create in the earth, a Khalifa representative. And people look at this term only in a political sense, as the head of state but no, the essence of the Philippines is the responsibility on Earth, to represent the Creator of the heavens in yours. So if the environment is in trouble, if society is a job, then it is the duty of humanity and especially those who are carrying the last message, it is our duty to go forward. And to spread this message and to hold hands with people of other religions, other nationalities, people of consciousness,

00:46:01--> 00:46:50

make alliances come together, before it is too late in the next 10 to 20 years, and Allah knows best the present earth that we know, the borderlines the countries, it is about to change radically, and never go back again. Those who want to really know what is happening, read in the words of the Prophet Muhammad SAW some of them and what the mo had to think of Allah Mata saw the signs of the last days reading this, then you will see more what is happening on the face of the planet. And so I pray that Almighty Allah azza wa jal would help us Muslims who are practicing Islam, to come together with people of consciousness of other faiths, other nationalities to dialogue with each

00:46:50--> 00:47:04

other, to be able to deal with the real responsibilities on Earth, taking our role as the halifa calling to the good and forbidding evil and a little bit morose. What nahi uninvent comes

00:47:05--> 00:47:24

at dealing with our responsibility, the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. He did not speak for himself. And some people say oh, well, this, this talk about environment. This is Greenpeace, the greener people. You're the Prophet peace be upon him said he said if the day of judgment is coming,

00:47:25--> 00:48:15

Koba tokuyama judgment is coming. And one of you has a seedling in his hand, he should plant that seed, plant it. The Day of Judgment is here. But you have a plant in your head, plant the seeds. Take care of the earth, even in the most extreme circumstances, take care of your role as the halifa on this earth. I leave you with these these words. I asked a lot to have mercy on me and you to accept the prayers of the believers in the month of Ramadan, to accept our fasting, our good deeds, that this month would be a source of peace and comfort to those who are in occupied zones. Those who are suffering may live mercy upon them. And this oma Apolo Polly has stopped for lolly walakum wa

00:48:15--> 00:48:18

salaamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

00:48:29--> 00:48:29

Yeah,

00:48:30--> 00:48:32

I was serving in Toronto.

00:48:33--> 00:49:20

As the mom of a big Moscow, the Jami mosque. That time in Toronto was only two mosques in the city. Now, it's a huge community, maybe the largest in all of North America. But that time it was two mosques. And I was expecting actually a lot of questions about arcada about faith and fit, but most of the problems coming with social problems. And from there, I went behind the veil into the Muslim families. And I found that there was a lot of oppression where men were exploiting women, where people are calling divorce talaq talaq, talaq de la, they say Tilak like water coming out of their mouth, not understanding the seriousness of divorce within Islam. Also physical abuse.

00:49:22--> 00:49:59

You know, the children and parents estranged children running away from homes and usually coming about because the lack of tequila and also a misunderstanding about what Islam really is. Because in many cases, we follow our culture. And we don't follow the Sunnah of the prophet SAW Selim, but we follow our culture, but people do around us. Okay. And so, this was about we opened up a social service sits at about 70% of our cases where social problems, family problems, and this was manifested. Part of the reason not all of the reason, but in many cases

00:50:00--> 00:50:14

Is it was men abusing their authority and abusing their physical strength? Or in dealing with differently? Now, the other general questions are coming up floors open for any questions than anybody else

00:50:22--> 00:50:23

get

00:50:28--> 00:50:29

in the back.

00:50:46--> 00:50:47

Climate change

00:50:57--> 00:50:58

how is it

00:51:06--> 00:51:06

for

00:51:08--> 00:51:09

industries

00:51:26--> 00:51:26

Okay,

00:51:27--> 00:51:46

in verse 41, from sorta room chapter of Rome, right? That's the verse that I read, where it's saying dot alpha, sad, Phil bodily well, Baja be Marcus upon idleness. So it said, corruption has appeared on the land in the sea, because of what people's hands have done.

00:51:47--> 00:52:13

Right. And literally, it is not technology, it is the use of technology. That's what the problem is. Now the words a person can exploit, can can can use technology, but if they think it is environmentally friendly, in other words, they are not destroying the environment, instead of fighting the stream and controlling it, they let the stream

00:52:14--> 00:52:40

move, and they build aqueducts and use the power of the mountain, right, or the power of gravity, and the water flows nice. Or you can fight against the mountain, right, or you can develop the type of chemicals that literally destroys living things. So it is not the fact that we have technology. But in in the industrial age, there was more emphasis placed on materialism, than there was on

00:52:41--> 00:52:49

balance keeping our relationship with the natural world, you will find, especially in what is known as Aboriginal culture,

00:52:51--> 00:53:24

the original people, you'll find a respect for you are living things in America, we have people call the native people that Columbus called Indians, right? But he was lost. He thought he was in India, and he bumped into America, right wasn't an Indian. But the point is, that amongst the natives, whenever they would build buildings, or make a city, they would plan five generations. How is this this structure? How is this community affecting five generations? That's how they think.

00:53:26--> 00:54:15

Like, whenever they slaughter an animal, right, they make it a prayer. Right? Whenever they did anything, they thought about the relationship of that act, to the living things around them. What happened in the past 500 years, is a lack of respect for the living things. It is just consumerism, materials, build, develop structure, with no regard for the things around us. And so we are reaping this, we are literally tasting the effect from this reckless use of technology and knowledge. What I'm talking about now is a holistic approach to science, where the scientist is actually believes in God, many of the scientists in the past 500 years, they become atheists, they say God is dead.

00:54:17--> 00:54:59

There's no God. So I just do what I wanted to some of them have a god complex, they think their god okay, but the scientist who is honest, should actually see when he looks at the complexity and nature, when he looks at the system setup, he knows there has to be a divine being in backup this there has to be. And with that in mind, he would structure his technology and his systems in order to enhance life, to purify the earth had to protect other living things. That is part of the Islamic system in the golden age of Islam, that Muslims were developing. And when we lost it right out of arrogance, tribalism and greed

00:55:00--> 00:55:34

When we lost our authority, we became part of this global globalization swallowed up by a secular materialistic society. Right? So we need to return now. And people are all over the world are trying to look for the holistic systems now, in the way they live trying to restructure how they function. And we are blessed to have the poor and in its original form, and the son of the Prophet Muhammad SAW seldom authenticated, and we can put this into practice into effect in the way that we live in society and in the world today.

00:55:35--> 00:55:38

Other questions floors open for any questions at the frontier.

00:55:40--> 00:55:40

Okay.

00:55:44--> 00:55:48

Regarding racism amongst Muslims, right?

00:55:52--> 00:55:58

Arabs and Muslims from Asian origin. Right? Okay, well, racism,

00:56:00--> 00:56:43

one group thinking that better, because of the color of their skin, or because of their language or their body structure. This is something which has been with human beings from early times, actually, you go back to the creation of Adam, with the beliefs with the shaytaan because what Allah created Adam, he said, you know, to, you know, to he said, bow down to the angels, at least, was a Jitney. And he was there, right with the angels. He refused. The law said, why he said, You created me from fire, and you created him from clay. So he's a racist, face beginning right there. And then other people, everybody has this, you look into yourself, and you say, I like somebody, I think that's the

00:56:43--> 00:57:08

most beautiful thing in the world, by color, my nose structure, by the by the texture of my hair, I think that's better. And the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW seldom, there was a number of cases, it happened amongst this companions. And it's a famous case of saying that a Buddha, rather long one who called Seder below, where the law and he said to below you, the son of a black woman, called him a racial thing.

00:57:09--> 00:57:30

And when this came to the Prophet, moments of some of his face got red. And he said, in words to Buddha, you have john India in you, your ignorant person, and how Buddha who was a pious person, but he had, like everybody has, he had this nationalism, he went to below and put his head on the ground and said to below, step on my head, step

00:57:31--> 00:57:42

below forgiving. But the point is, it existed even back in those times. So today, we need to begin to respect each other's culture,

00:57:43--> 00:58:29

to respect each other's culture. Okay. But one of the things of racism, you see, there's three levels. One there is verbal, this ideological racism, where you actually think that you're better because of history. And you write history, according to yourself, right? to theirs, verbal is an action part of racism, you call somebody a name, right. But the third one is what is called institutionalized racism. That is where people have certain colors or nationalities, they get certain jobs, and other people, they get lower jobs. Okay, the worst form of this may be the caste system of India, where people are actually untouchables and different caste, you're born into a

00:58:29--> 00:58:48

caste and you stay like that for the rest of your life. That may be the most extreme form of this, you know, levels based upon race and caste, you know, in Sanskrit, Hindi is actually is referred to it's color, something to do with your race and your color. Okay, so

00:58:49--> 00:58:55

we first have to look into ourselves, right? And try to understand why does a person think that they're better?

00:58:56--> 00:59:16

Some people think that they're better because of their families, right their language. But if you think you're better because of your family, then look at the uncle of the prophets of Salaam, Abu lahab. He was Hashimi he wasn't the noble family of the prophet SAW Selim. But according to the court, and he's burning in hell,

00:59:18--> 00:59:19

even though he was shoddy.

00:59:21--> 00:59:59

So family is not enough. We respect the family of the prophets are solid, but your lineage is not really enough. Okay. And the scholars say if you think you're better than look at your creation, look at yourself. In a short time we get older, we get weak, and eventually we die. And when you die and they put you in the ground, nobody wants to go down in that hole with you. I don't care how rich and famous you are, right how much property you own. Nobody's going down there with you. We come from a humble place and we shall return inshallah to a humble place. So we need to go to the roots of racism.

01:00:00--> 01:00:10

See, ideologically, right, deconstruct history, history has to be rewritten according to everybody's stories, right, and not just the story of the conqueror.

01:00:11--> 01:00:12

But everybody's story,

01:00:13--> 01:00:42

the ideological racism that has to be dealt with racial names he had given. And in society, institutionalized racism has to be dealt with where every group, according to their abilities would have upward mobility, and not be stopped, because there are certain nationalities. This is how it has to be played out. as Muslims today, we have a very serious road in front of us, because tribalism, or media

01:00:44--> 01:00:53

exists as a process of upset is a filthy thing. And it does exist amongst us. And we can never expect to get the help of a lot.

01:00:54--> 01:01:37

If we are discriminating one against another. That's one of the reasons why after the golden age at Muslims actually went down is because of this. So now what is happening is that more and more people are coming together and starting to appreciate each other, not based on color, but based upon the action of the person, the piety of the person. This is what the court actually teaches, oh, granites, all the other islands are made of volcanic rock of corals. But this is about this is granite formation. And they claim they are the only island chain like that in the world. Okay, when the when the Gondwana when when the massive continent broke up, that made the present day South

01:01:37--> 01:02:03

America, you know, Middle East, Asia, Africa, you know, Australia, when that broke up, they were in the middle, and they didn't go to either side, they got stuck in the middle. Right. So it's literally like a mountain under the water sticking up. And the top of it is a set of these islands, you know, these granite formations. So it's like, what they would call in the West like Jurassic Park. It's like when you're walking, there's like you're in the age of the dinosaurs,

01:02:04--> 01:02:42

because of the formations, and they're in the vegetation. And the grant is really strange. Some of the rocks look like alien rocks or something, something from a meteorite or something. So this is what is really strange about, you know, the islands there. And they usually talk about Seychelles, they say the rich and the famous and all that. But actually, the majority of the people in the Seychelles are poor people. It's a creole population. And they have drug problems. And just like other problems, like anywhere else in the world, and Islam is spreading there. Now, Islamic information center is open a public exhibition, and there's a big anti drug program going on. And

01:02:42--> 01:02:53

Muslims are taking a leading role there in the Seychelles. So it's very interesting possibility for the future, in that region, but it's a granite for information. Now, the brother here in the front has got a question.

01:03:02--> 01:03:17

as Muslims, we are sure that Allah is the Creator, and he controls everything. And also we know experts in life, about the healing powers of Quran. Now I understand that the people or the religion,

01:03:18--> 01:03:19

he may be a Christian or

01:03:21--> 01:03:27

people are so convinced about their healing powers and give importance to them.

01:03:28--> 01:03:30

And how they, how it happens?

01:03:32--> 01:03:33

or How

01:03:34--> 01:03:34

much

01:03:36--> 01:03:37

is it psychological?

01:03:42--> 01:03:50

Okay, I'm not exactly sure which group you're talking about, but science and medicine, healing, using natural

01:03:52--> 01:04:19

herbs and different things like that, this is something which is shared by all all nations, it's not only for Muslims. So, within Hinduism, within Christianity, native religions, you will find people who develop systems of healing using natural products and other things which are very effective. So, they are able to use these and they have charisma, and they are able to attract people to these groups, but

01:04:20--> 01:04:59

in terms of the the spiritual things, this is the weakness of human beings, that human beings they will follow a charismatic leader you know, and they get caught up in you know, the sounds and the sights of the group feeling which is developed, right this type of group bomb you know, propaganda even the Nazis Goebbels was the Nazis propaganda experts. You know, Hitler was it was a was a tremendous speaker, and they could brainwashing using propaganda. This is what is being used today. You know, and BBC and CNN, right and all these programs right, the man standing in front of you

01:05:00--> 01:05:03

He sounds so correct. He's lying 100%.

01:05:05--> 01:05:15

But he's so professional about it, you believe him that you might be standing right in the place, right? And the opposite is happening. But he says that. So effectively, you look around and say, ah, is he right or wrong?

01:05:17--> 01:05:52

Right? This is magic, like the south, like the magicians in the time of fit out, they had the ability to create illusions, right? So they would throw this sticks and it turned it look like snakes. But what Mussolini's Salaam had, when he threw his I saw, he threw the stuff, and it ate up all this snakes. So when the truth really comes, it will consume all of the false ideologies, you know, that exists all around, but it needs people who are sincere and serious about putting it into practice, and putting it into their lives.

01:05:58--> 01:06:03

Return to the level of United Nations. What is an individual?

01:06:07--> 01:06:53

Okay, this is a very, very good question, in terms of what we can actually do. And I believe, honestly, that we can do something as individuals, that if people start to change their own lives, that it can actually eventually work up. It doesn't have to be from top down, it can come from the bottom up, and we the common people, the lowly people who have no political power, who do not have millions of dollars, or other currencies, right, we can do something, even just by reusing things, recycling things, right? Not just throwing cans around and poisoning our bodies and poisoned the environment, right, start to try to live a more natural way, right, have a smaller carbon imprint on

01:06:53--> 01:07:37

the earth, right, try in the best following sooner, right, and stay away from chemical things, right and destroying the environment. And when it starts to to work, it starts to move, you know, it eventually grows in an expense. Also, we can pressure our leaders, you know, to to be more involved in this struggle to protect the environment, because it is for the good of the leaders and our community because our societies are going to be destroyed. But pressure needs to be applied. articles can be written into the papers, pressures applied to the leader, look at the situation, right, so we don't have such a terrible carbon imprint, and destroy the environment, so much around

01:07:37--> 01:08:17

us. So we can start. And we whatever we do, at least on the Day of Judgment, we can face a loss of $1. And say, I tried to do something, I did something on my own, even if I didn't have the power, but I tried to do something. So every individual needs to learn what it is to reuse things, recycled things, you know, to start looking at more natural type of products to avoid chemicals and their food and their lifestyle. And it will actually help us in our own lives, the more that we are able to live in this natural way. It's really closer to the sooner you really look at the sun of the prophets of Allah, how he ate and how he lived, you will see that it's very environmentally

01:08:17--> 01:08:22

friendly, actually the way they used to live in in a similar way. And we can still be modern

01:08:23--> 01:08:32

and follow the sun. We don't have to go back all the way 1400 years, but we can take the principles of the sun and then apply them to the world we are living in today.

01:08:40--> 01:08:49

Do you feel that Omar is getting stronger outside the Middle East? in areas of Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, North America

01:08:51--> 01:09:30

is weakening. Okay, I can't comment on what is happening in the Middle East because I don't live in the Middle East. I'm living in the southern hemisphere. And it's very confusing what is happening here. You can't believe the papers. Right? But I what I have found in traveling is that there is a rise in consciousness all over the world. All over the Muslim world. There are more and more people returning to the masjid. Going going back to the Sunnah. There are people accepting Islam, many Aboriginal people around the world are actually accepting Islam. Even in the United States, when you think that Islam is under attack, it's still the fastest growing religion a

01:09:31--> 01:09:59

lot of people accepting Islam. So this is the reality of the world we're living today. You know, no, they will not be able to put out the light of Allah. Right? It's like a fool trying to blow out the sun. He thinks the sun is too hot. So he gathers all his friends around and they blow up the sun. Right? They'll never put it out. Right and that is the reality. But we have to look at ourselves. Are we practicing Islam? Are we part of the problem or part of the solution as some people would say?

01:10:00--> 01:10:06

Right, where do we stand? That's what we have to look at now, and deal with what is in ourselves. Our first

01:10:12--> 01:10:13

question about this

01:10:16--> 01:10:18

as a Muslim, you're not supposed to believe.

01:10:21--> 01:10:22

Usually most of the things

01:10:24--> 01:10:26

I, myself I had an encounter with,

01:10:28--> 01:10:37

like my friend was showing him his hand and I was like, it's nothing. So, actually, he told me many things about myself.

01:10:47--> 01:10:48

Okay, well, you know,

01:10:49--> 01:11:29

there's different opinions in terms of magic. Some people take a position magic does not exist, right? It's all superstition and whatever. Other people believe in magic, as though it is revelation. Right. But our position is, is that magic does exist, it is a reality. Right? And within our sources that the Cana, the wizards, at the time of the prophet SAW Selim, and many of these people, they contact the gym, and the gym made from smokeless fire, and they live in a parallel world. And so these gin would steal into the atmosphere, and then get messages as they're coming down. They'd actually get certain informations. Okay, so this cabinet, this cabinet, would actually,

01:11:30--> 01:12:10

he tells you, you know, 100 things, most of them are wrong, but a few of them are right. You got something right. And we as human beings, we forget what he said, That's wrong. And we only remember what is right. Okay. That's how they work. And they watch you right? As soon as you come in the door, they read you. He's a worker, look how he walks, look at his shoes, look how he holds his hand, and then read you. And then they'll start saying things about you, as soon as you come inside, right? And so they'll get certain things about you. And they can even look at you, when they say something and you start nodding like that, the neck combo. If you start to go like this, then they

01:12:10--> 01:12:20

go the other way. Right, so they know how to read you, right? And that's what you got to realize a lot of it is trickery, but there are some of them, actually have contact with the gym.

01:12:22--> 01:13:09

And they will know certain things about you because of their contact with the gym. It is the evil jinn By the way, and it's dangerous. That's why we have to seek refuge in this, right and stay away from it and seek refuge from it. Because it does have some power. And if it hits a believer, then it's for a test is for purification or a test. Right. But, you know, the best way is just not to be involved. If you live a halau life, right? You're fasting, eating halau food, making your prayers. You're okay. A person called me up in Toronto, and they said, you know, he said my wife, every every, sometimes a big black object comes at the bottom of the bed.

01:13:10--> 01:13:42

Right? She sees it. I don't see it, but she sees. Okay, and what should we do, brother Abdullah? So I said, Okay, we're in Canada. I said, Brother, do you eat halau food? And he said, Well, we're in Canada, you know, and we're far away. And sometimes I try to eat a lot. So okay. I said, Do you make a lot regular? He said, Well, you know, it's cold in Canada. And I can't always make my salop I try, you know, sometimes, right? Okay. Right. So then he said,

01:13:43--> 01:13:45

you know, and she's on the other line.

01:13:46--> 01:13:49

Then she said, I'm seeing it now it's coming.

01:13:50--> 01:13:56

Right? And they said, do something up to I said, What am I supposed to do? Am I the pope? Like what am I supposed to do?

01:13:57--> 01:14:42

If you are practicing Islam, if you eat halau and you're making your salad and you have to huddle, you have purity, these things, most cases are going to leave you alone. If you're not making a lot, you're eating haram foods, right? in your in your living this lifestyle, then you open yourself up for evil forces to touch you sort of way to really deal with this is to practice Islam. That's the basis of the thing. Then if you have a problem, there are certain people, you know, a few amount of the Lamas some of them have this understanding of how to deal with this, Jim. I don't myself, only a few people have disability. Right. So So the best way is to you know, focus on Almanack focus on the

01:14:42--> 01:14:49

angels. Okay, Monica here, right, it's Ramadan, the gyms are locked up. So forget about.

01:14:50--> 01:14:58

Okay, focus on magnetic. That's what we're supposed to do. That's what Ramadan does for us. Okay, but we focus on the gyms too much

01:15:00--> 01:15:30

They said the gym is here and they walk backwards with their feet backwards. And they do this and they say, further ability comes to me and he said, I got a headache. The gym is in my head, man, it's a gym, get him out. I said, Brother, how many jobs do you have? He said, I have two jobs. I said you so you're working like 16 hours a day? He said, Yeah, I looked at him. He has I said, Brother, there's a word called word called stress. Right? It's stress, you need to get rid of one of your jobs. Right? It's no gene in your head.

01:15:31--> 01:16:15

Right? You're working too much. Okay, so but we still we tend to use these things as excuses. Right? And we need to focus on the Creator of the heavens and the earth and the angels instead of focusing on the superstitions, and other things like this. Okay, so we want to end here on now. And thank you for your attendance here tonight. And for those visitors here is information in the back and you can always get at the canonical customer information. And we want to say to the Muslims, we will mail accept your prayers and your fasting in Ramadan and all the good deeds that you are doing. May Allah have mercy on us and Unitas support Allah who will be home to heat so how long will be home deca

01:16:15--> 01:16:20

Chateau en la Ilaha. illa Anta stuff for to relate for Salaam Alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

01:16:22--> 01:16:42

a gathering of the nations and he said the Maldives is one of the smaller states, we are not in a position to change the course of events in the world. But what you do or do not do will greatly influence the fate of my people.

01:16:43--> 01:16:46

It can also change the course of history.

01:16:47--> 01:16:57

What was he talking about? Now, only in recent months, it is coming clearer and clearer. the Greenland ice shelf

01:16:58--> 01:17:33

which have frozen which was a frozen, a huge formation of ice in the northern part of the world is melting down. And if this continues to melt, the ocean could be rising by meters. And this would be catastrophic. It would be catastrophic for the island states. And it is possible last summer holla May Allah forbid that island states like the Maldives, or the other Comoros or the Seychelles could be literally underwater.

01:17:34--> 01:17:36

It also means

01:17:37--> 01:17:46

that cities on coastlines with reclaimed land could also find their reclaimed land underwater.

01:17:47--> 01:17:49

And I'm not just talking about here.

01:17:51--> 01:18:04

But that's obvious. I'm talking even about Cape Town, where I'm living now that a whole section of the waterfront area with the highest real estate is on reclaimed land.

01:18:05--> 01:18:15

And if the ocean rises, all of this would be underwater, and the coastline would be at a famous place called the Table Mountain, this would become the coastline.

01:18:17--> 01:18:21

And so it is coming to pass. And unfortunately, recent

01:18:22--> 01:18:27

calculations have found that from 1750,

01:18:28--> 01:18:42

from 1750, we have released more carbon dioxide and methane at any than any time in the past 650,000 years.

01:18:44--> 01:18:45

This is how crazy it is.

01:18:47--> 01:18:59

And so it has reached the point where human beings will have to come together. And I believe seriously that within the next 10 to 20 years, that the present world that we know

01:19:00--> 01:19:22

and the borders that we know and the countries that we know is going to change and we will be forced to come together as a human race, we will be forced to re analyze how we organize our country's how we organize our families. What is the intention how we deal with technology,

01:19:23--> 01:19:47

we will have to analyze this to look at where we stand. And it is crucial for our people have conscious consciousness and for Muslims to come together to try to deal with this reality that we are facing on the earth. The United Nations has recently released interesting information.

01:19:48--> 01:20:00

This is another point to consider as I go into the final part of this topic, and that is that we are living in the largest generation of young people

01:20:01--> 01:20:03

that has ever existed

01:20:04--> 01:20:05

in human history.

01:20:06--> 01:20:49

It's the largest generation of young people. And they estimate and usually the United Nations has not done us well, actually. But when it comes to international information, gathering information, they have an excellent system of gathering this information to help us understand what is happening globally. Their estimate is 48% of the world population is under 24 years old 48% of people on earth in Africa 60% of the population of Africa, under 25 years old 60% of the people.

01:20:51--> 01:21:26

And this is very serious, especially when we look at the activities within our communities, for the Muslims, especially, how many programs do we have for young people within our communities? Do we have recreation? Do we have a way for a young person to grow up, and then come and find themselves in a state of Islam as an adult. And so because of this, it's very interesting. They have focused on certain points as the major crisis issues. These are major crisis issues for the world.

01:21:27--> 01:21:32

And you see it played out in different societies, not all of them everywhere.

01:21:33--> 01:21:40

But you will see these points. Number one, one of the greatest crises of the younger generation

01:21:41--> 01:22:30

of people on this earth is violence. It is violence, state violence, occupation of countries, and also criminal violence that takes place within the societies where people are struggling over materials, and fighting over things in their cities. Secondly, the erosion of traditional values, the erosion of traditional values. And you'll see in most of societies, people living in China, people living in the Arab world, living in India, living in all parts of the world in Africa. You say to the younger generation, and they're becoming the majority. You take your food, and then you say, what would you like for dinner? And they tell you, I want to go to McDonald's. I

01:22:31--> 01:22:34

want to go to McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken.

01:22:36--> 01:22:42

I like pizza. This is Italian food. Everybody's eating Italian food all over the world.

01:22:43--> 01:22:50

Why is it just as we were coming now, I saw an interesting site. It said McDonald's has date pies.

01:22:51--> 01:23:40

With a crescent. It's made for dates, especially for Muslims fasting, right? So you can break your fast with McDonald's and be sooner.

01:23:40--> 01:24:19

people into consumers who only care about making money and buying things and then adding and putting their material things up. And then judging another person, not by their taqwa, not by their piety or their character, but judging them by the materials. They have the shoes that they are wearing, the cell phone, what kind of cell phone are you talking on? What kind of car you're driving, judging people by this, so erodes traditional values. The third point brought up by the United Nations is that one of the great crises facing the young, the younger generation today is poverty.

01:24:20--> 01:24:49

And this part of the world has been blessed with wealth, but in southern part of Africa, and in Asia, in many parts of the world, you will find malnutrition. And you will find 1000s of people living in shock light conditions and conditions you would never believe could actually be set up for human life. But this is the reality that is happening in the world. And the overwhelming majority of the people today are actually starving and have malnutrition.

01:24:50--> 01:24:59

The next point brought up by the United Nations. And it's interesting to compare, as we look at our own understanding is disease that

01:25:00--> 01:25:21

Z's would become one of the great crises in the world today. And we see this in southern Africa, maybe more than anybody else. Because HIV AIDS has reached the point where there are some places in southern Africa, where 36% of the population are HIV positive 36% of the people.

01:25:23--> 01:26:17

The most active thing going on in many of the communities is genocide, its funerals. This is the biggest event that is happening in many of the township areas in southern Africa. Now, it's funerals of people who are literally dying from HIV AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and other diseases that are spreading to the man. The fifth point of the major crises that are facing the world today is drugs. It is the abuse of substances, like alcohol, and other drugs, and don't think that alcohol is not a drug. Because alcohol is drugs in liquid form. That's all it is. And it destroys the body, it destroys the mind. And you will see in the world today, as we go, a culture, a global culture that

01:26:17--> 01:26:26

is being pushed upon our societies, we have people who feel bad about themselves or depressed, they instead of turning to the Creator, they take a drink,

01:26:27--> 01:26:47

they turn to alcohol for company, they turn to drugs in order to escape the world. And what happens dependency, where the person becomes dependent on the drugs, and then loses their values, loses their morals loses their their consciousness, and they are capable of doing almost anything.

01:26:49--> 01:27:19

We in southern Africa and South Africa, in particular, we are living in the epicenter of the drug crisis, every known drug in the world has to pass through our country, in between Colombia, and Asia, where the drugs are coming through all the different forms of heroin, of cocaine, of LSD, of all the different types of drugs are passing through our country, and having an impact on the society that we are living.

01:27:20--> 01:27:24

And so in looking at this, we have to understand

01:27:25--> 01:28:01

that the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Last the long line of prophets, he did not speak from himself. But he spoke from above seven habits. And this revelation this way of life is the last of the revealed major religions of monotheism, the last one to come to humanity, to help take us to a different plane of understanding, to take our responsibilities on earth, and to help us in all ways of life. And it is reported that the Prophet peace be upon him

01:28:02--> 01:28:03

that he,

01:28:04--> 01:28:16

in his last major sermon, called the mount arafat sermon, that he said to his followers, take this message, which is focusing on the oneness of God

01:28:18--> 01:28:27

on the fact that we should not be exploiting each other. The fact that there is no preference of Arabs over non Arabs, or white over black or vice versa.

01:28:28--> 01:28:50

The fact that women should be protected and respected. It focused on this and brings society together in goodness. And he said to his followers, those who are present should take this to those who are upset, over 120,000 people. And they traveled to the four corners of the earth.

01:28:51--> 01:28:57

And this message, affected society in all types of ways.

01:28:58--> 01:29:00

The Prophet peace be upon him said al hikma

01:29:01--> 01:29:02

under my watch, and

01:29:04--> 01:29:20

he said hikma wisdom, knowledge is the last property of a believer, anywhere he finds it, he is most deserving of this. And so the Muslims took the knowledge of the ancient ones, the knowledge of the ancient

01:29:21--> 01:29:49

Chinese, Indian, Middle East, Africa, the Greeks, the Romans, they took the wisdom of the Ancient Ones, and put it together with a Quranic understanding the last message, put it together in a new modern form, that could be used by society, to the Day of Resurrection. And so during this period of time,

01:29:50--> 01:30:00

and especially if we focus on the seventh century, between that and the 15th 16th century, this is the golden age of

01:30:00--> 01:30:26

Islam. And this is called, by many historians as the dark ages of Europe. And no doubt the lights went off. When the Roman Empire fell, knowledge was being held by monks in monasteries. But what is not recorded is that during that time, Muslims of all colors, all nationalities came together in Muslim Spain, Al Andalus,

01:30:28--> 01:31:21

in North Africa, in the Middle East, in Asia, and they developed most of the modern sciences, the systems of science that we know in the world today. And so zero cifa this is an Arabic word 012345, you're counting in Arabic numbers, algebra, trigonometry, calculus.

01:31:21--> 01:31:32

put it in a new form, based upon the revelation that had come to them. And so this society impacted the world. But remember,

01:31:34--> 01:32:28

the understanding of the waves of human culture, it is in the Renaissance period, which is not actually a renaissance of Europe. It was the Islamic Renaissance that was translated. Because the places in Europe where knowledge sprang up, were actually translation centers. And they translated the documents from the golden age of Islam. And were able to set the systems for the modern system for the modern world. But remember, this last wave of human life that goes out, it colonizes the earth, it decimates the Aboriginal populations, it exploits, it burns the forests, it controls the populations, and then it slaves, millions of people, takes them out of their homes and sends them

01:32:28--> 01:33:02

around the world. It causes mass migrations. And so what happens is, the world goes into a series of crisis. And Muslims have to remember who they are, we forget, sometimes we are, we forget that we are actually carrying with us the last message of the Prophet alayhi salatu salam, the last message that came from the Creator of the heavens of the earth. And so you find in the world today, there is a spiritual crisis. And people around the world

01:33:03--> 01:33:52

are now turning to magicians, fortune tellers, all over the world. Even in the industrialized countries, they turn to magicians, they are turning to people to tell their fortunes. And even in America, there's a person named Edwards, john edwards, and he will stand you there on a stage. He died

01:33:52--> 01:34:37

from cancer. That's a good guests because maybe half the population died of cancer. God that 20 years ago anyway, right? So he makes a good guess if you nod your head like yes, he continues. And this is watched on television by millions of people, millions of people. And you find in many countries now the magicians are coming forward, what is known in the Paradis Sahara, the Sahara, the time of their own, they are coming forward with these types of Shahada of this magic Voodoo obeah shango, which is coming forward in southern Africa, we have a terrible form of magic. We a lot protect us from us. They do what is called moochie

01:34:38--> 01:34:59

and moochie. If they want power, in order to protect themselves for evil or give you some benefit. They take a human being and they cut off one of his lips. And the more he screams is, the better it's going to be and they take that and they mix it up in the drink. Right they make a strange potion and then they make you drink it in order to

01:35:00--> 01:35:14

power from demonic forces. This is one of the most cruel forms of this magic, but it is a reality in the world. Muslims have what we would call a North America, the Declaration of Independence. And that is,

01:35:15--> 01:35:35

that is the opening chapter of the Quran, and especially in the spiritual crisis, yaka Naboo. Stein. This is the Declaration of Independence. Why? Because when we say that he aka Naboo, you alone, or Allah, we worship, and from you alone, do we seek help

01:35:36--> 01:35:53

you then change your relationship with every other creature on earth, when we focus directly on the Creator of the heavens and the earth. And so we forget sometimes what we are carrying with us a message of straight spirituality.

01:35:54--> 01:36:47

The world also is going through economic crisis, because we are living in a time where people are printing paper notes. And the notes are supposed to equal the gold and silver in the bank, those notes that you have Dr. hamdeen, out dollar pound euro, it's a promissory note.

01:36:47--> 01:36:52

a promise that the bank has got the gold to back up the note that you have.

01:36:54--> 01:37:19

The problem is today that people print more notes than they have gold and silver in the bank. And so it becomes it overflows, right, and then interest in usury comes in. And implosion happens, where it explodes within itself. And we see it coming about in America today. Because many people wanted US dollars. Some people still want US dollars.

01:37:21--> 01:37:23

But the dollar is going down what is happening.

01:37:24--> 01:37:26

America owes $7 trillion

01:37:28--> 01:37:34

to the bank $7 trillion in debt. But we all want US dollars.

01:37:35--> 01:37:45

What is happening? Why do you want this dollar when they 7 trillion in debt, why? It's a trick. It's an illusion, or deception.

01:37:46--> 01:38:15

Put in front of your eyes, it doesn't equal the golden silver. And so now it is coming back. And it's exploding from the inside, in what is called a recession. And it is coming to pass we have the cure. In the Islamic system, we have an interest free economy, where people would not exploit each other economically, they would buy and sell with goods with with with gold and with

01:38:16--> 01:38:24

different types of things that have value in itself. It has value in itself, we would buy and sell with this

01:38:25--> 01:38:44

and not exploiting each other for borrowing money from the bank. This interest free system, if it is developed on Earth, would change the relationship of human beings with each other. It would change profoundly if it happened. And so within our system,

01:38:45--> 01:39:04

there is hope for the future. The world also today is in a spirit is in a social crisis, a social crisis in terms of the family, family systems are breaking down. In many countries. Marriage is an endangered institution.

01:39:05--> 01:39:50

You're like endangered species. It's about to disappear. In some countries like Canada, more people have what they call common law marriages than the regular marriage. You see somebody you like her, she likes you. So you live you live to get let's go. You don't have to get married. You don't need to take any vows. You live together for five years. And then you say I'll see you later. And if you have children, they have to fend for themselves. This is causing confusion in societies and exploding also on the inside. Also people are confused about their own sexuality confused who they are. And in some countries, the man he's john during the day and he's chained at night.

01:39:51--> 01:39:59

He changes and sometimes you don't know who he is just based on what kind of clothes he has on. So he's unsure

01:40:00--> 01:40:07

for himself, and when he has that, I'm sure today will say, No, you are a woman trapped in a man's body.

01:40:08--> 01:40:33

Come out of yourself, be yourself. You're really a woman, right? But you just happen to have too much testosterone. So your beard is growing. But come out of yourself. This is causing confusion in the in the societies. And it is causing the marriages to shut the breakdown, which is the building block of the society. So the whole society is then in a state of confusion.

01:40:35--> 01:41:07

And so Muslims have the last hope for you that the last hope is with the Muslim family. And I heard this I traveled far north into the Scandinavian countries. And farther north in the countries called Norway, and Denmark and Sweden, especially in Norway, the Norwegian people who are fishing people, country people, right, who have tradition of families, they respect the family type families.

01:41:08--> 01:41:25

This globalization that hits this society has caused such a confusion, the identity of the men being confused when Muslim men came, and I heard it from the lips of the women, nine out of 10 people accepting Islam in Scandinavia are women.

01:41:27--> 01:42:02

And we said how is this when Islam has got a bad reputation for women, right? They propagandize mostly say they beat their wives. They oppress their women. And many Muslims do oppress, but Islam does not oppress. So when the Norwegian woman saw what Islam really was, and saw Muslim men practicing Islam, they entered Islam. And they said, You Muslim men, if you practice Islam, you are the last hope for the family. After this, there is no more.

01:42:04--> 01:42:27

And so it has come to pass, that Islam that we are blessed with a system of life that needs to be practiced. It needs somebody to implement this. We need to look into ourselves, to make the changes inside of ourselves, and to be able to take the responsibility on Earth.

01:42:28--> 01:42:36

As we are told in the end, in the beginning of creation of humanity, Allah tells us in the jar alone, fill out the Khalifa.

01:42:37--> 01:43:20

I am creating I will create in the earth, a Khalifa representative. And people look at this term only in a political sense, as the head of state but no, the essence of the Philippines is the responsibility on Earth, to represent the Creator of the heavens and the earth. So if the environment is in trouble, if society is in trouble, and it is the duty of humanity, and especially those who are carrying the last message, it is our duty to go forward. And to spread this message and to hold hands with people of other religions, other nationalities, people of consciousness,

01:43:21--> 01:44:09

make alliances come together, before it is too late in the next 10 to 20 years, and Allah knows best the present earth that we know, the borderlines the countries, it is about to change radically, and never go back again. And those who want to really know what is happening, read in the words of the Prophet Muhammad SAW some of them and what the mo had to think of Allah madrasah, the signs of the last days reading this, then you will see more what is happening on the face of the planet. And so I pray that Almighty Allah azza wa jal would help us Muslims who are practicing Islam, to come together with people of consciousness of other faiths, other nationalities to dialogue with each

01:44:09--> 01:44:23

other, to be able to deal with the real responsibilities on Earth, taking our role as the halifa calling to the good and forbidding evil and a little bit morose. What now he uninvent cars

01:44:24--> 01:44:43

and dealing with our responsibility. The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. He did not speak for himself. And some people say oh, well, this, this talk about environment. This is Greenpeace, the greener people. You're the Prophet peace be upon him said he said if the day of judgment is coming,

01:44:45--> 01:44:59

cognitive kiama judgment is coming. And one of you has a seedling in his hand. He should plant that seed, plant it. The Day of Judgment is here. But you have a plant in your hand.

01:45:00--> 01:45:37

Clap the seat, take care of the earth, even in the most extreme circumstances, take care of your role as the halifa on this earth. I leave you with these these words, I asked a lot to have mercy on me and you to accept the prayers of the believers in the month of Ramadan, to accept our fasting, our good deeds, that this month would be a source of peace and comfort to those who are in occupied zones. Those who are suffering may live mercy upon them. And this oma Apolo Polly has stopped for lolly walakum wa salaamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

01:45:50--> 01:45:52

I was serving in Toronto

01:45:53--> 01:46:39

as the mom of a big mosque or Jami mosque. That time in Toronto, there's only two mosques in the city. Now, it's a huge community, maybe the largest in all of North America. But that time it was two mosques. And I was expecting actually a lot of questions about aqeedah about faith and fit, but most of the problems coming with social problems. And from there, I went behind the veil into the Muslim families. And I found that there was a lot of oppression where men were exploiting women, where people are calling divorce Turlock, Turlock, Turlock, Turlock, they say to look like water coming out of their mouth, not understanding the seriousness of divorce within Islam, also physical

01:46:39--> 01:46:40

abuse.

01:46:41--> 01:47:27

You know, the children and parents estranged children running away from homes, and usually coming about because the lack of taqwa and also a misunderstanding about what Islam really is, because in many cases, we follow our culture. And we don't follow the Sunnah of the prophet SAW Selim, but we follow our culture, but people do around us. Okay. And so this was about, we opened up a social service center, and about 70% of our cases were social problems, family problems, and this was manifested, part of the reason not all of the reason, but in many cases, it was men abusing their authority and abusing their physical strength, or in dealing with differently.

01:47:29--> 01:47:33

Yeah, there are general questions are coming up floors open for any questions than anybody else.

01:47:48--> 01:47:48

In the back.

01:48:05--> 01:48:06

Climate change

01:48:16--> 01:48:17

how is it?

01:48:27--> 01:48:28

industries?

01:48:34--> 01:48:37

This is something we do with word of mouth.

01:48:45--> 01:48:45

Okay,

01:48:47--> 01:49:05

in verse 41, from sorta room chapter of Rome, right? That's the verse that I read, where it's saying go hot, alpha, sad, Phil, bodily well, Baja be Marcus upon idleness. So it said, corruption has appeared on the land in the sea, because of what people's hands have done.

01:49:07--> 01:49:33

Right. And literally, it is not technology, it is the use of technology. That's what the problem is. Now the words a person can exploit, can can can use technology, but if they think it is environmentally friendly, in other words, they are not destroying the environment, instead of fighting the stream and controlling it. They let the stream

01:49:34--> 01:49:59

move, and they build aqueducts and use the power of the mountain, right, or the power of gravity and the water flows nicely. Or you can fight against the mountain, right, or you can develop the type of chemicals that literally destroys living things. So it is not the fact that we have technology. But in in the industrial age, there was more emphasis placed on materialism than there was on

01:50:01--> 01:50:09

Balance keeping our relationship with the natural world, you will find, especially in what is known as AB, original culture,

01:50:10--> 01:50:44

the original people, you'll find a respect for you living things in America, we have people call the native people that Columbus called Indians, right? But he was lost, he thought he was in India, and he bumped into America, right wasn't an Indian. But the point is that amongst the natives, whenever they would build buildings, or make a city, they would plan five generations. How is this this structure? How is this community affecting five generations, that's how they think.

01:50:45--> 01:51:34

Like, whenever they slaughter an animal, right, they make it a prayer. But whenever they did anything, they thought about the relationship of that act, to the living things around them. What happened in the past 500 years, is a lack of respect for the living things. It is just consumerism, materials, build, develop structure, with no regard for the things around us. And so we are reaping this, we are literally tasting the effect from our this reckless use of technology and knowledge. What I'm talking about now is a holistic approach to science, where the scientist is actually believes in God, many of the scientists in the past 500 years, they become atheists, they say God is

01:51:34--> 01:51:35

dead.

01:51:36--> 01:52:23

There's no God. So I just do what I wanted to some of them have a god complex, they think their God, okay, but the scientist who is honest, should actually see when he looks at the complexity in nature, when he looks at the system setup, he knows there has to be a divine being in backup this there has to be. And with that in mind, he would structure his technology and his systems in order to enhance life, to purify the earth, and to protect other living things. That is part of the Islamic system in the golden age of Islam, that Muslims were developing. And when we lost it right out of arrogance, tribalism, and greed, when we lost our authority, we became part of this global

01:52:23--> 01:52:53

globalization swallowed up by a secular materialistic society, right. So we need to return now. And people are all over the world are trying to look for the holistic systems not in the way they live, trying to restructure how they function. And we are blessed to have the Koran in its original form. And the student of the Prophet Muhammad SAW seldom authenticated, and we can put this into practice into effect in the way that we live in society and in the world today.

01:52:55--> 01:52:57

Other questions floor is open for any questions at the frontier.

01:52:59--> 01:53:00

Okay, go ahead.

01:53:03--> 01:53:05

Regarding racism,

01:53:07--> 01:53:07

right,

01:53:08--> 01:53:17

in regards to racism from Arabs, and Muslims from Asian origin, right? Okay, well, racism,

01:53:19--> 01:54:02

one group thinking that better, because of the color of their skin, or because of their language or their body structure. This is something which has been with human beings from early times. Actually, you go back to the creation of Adam, with the beliefs with the shaytaan because when Allah created Adam, he said, you know, to, you know, to to, he said, bow down to the angels, at least was a Jitney. And he was there. Right with the angels. He refused. Allah said, Why? He said, You created me from fire, and you created him from clay. So he's a racist. Face beginning right there. And then other people, everybody has this, you look into yourself, and you say, I like somebody. I think

01:54:02--> 01:54:27

that's the most beautiful thing in the world, by color, my nose structure, by the by the texture of my hair, I think that's better. And the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW Selim, there's a number of cases, it happened amongst this companions. And it's a famous case of saying that a Buddha, rather long one who called Seder below the law, and he said to Bill, are you the son of a black woman, he called him a racial name.

01:54:28--> 01:54:59

And when this came to the Prophet, moments of some of his face got red. And he said, in words to two apples, you have john India in you, your ignorant person, and a Buddha who was a pious person, but he had, like everybody has he had this nationalism. He went to below and put his hand on the ground and said to below, step on my head, step on it, a bit of forgiving, but the point is that existed even back in those times. So today, we need to begin to respect

01:55:00--> 01:55:01

each other's culture

01:55:02--> 01:55:48

to respect each other's culture. Okay? But one of the things of racism, you see, there's three levels. One, there is verbal, though this ideological racism, where you actually think that you're better because of history, and you write history according to yourself, right? to theirs verbal is an action part of racism, you call somebody a name, right. But the third one is what is called institutionalized racism. That is where people have certain colors or nationalities, they get certain jobs and other people, they get lower jobs. Okay, the worst form of this may be the caste system of India, where people are actually untouchables and different caste, you're born into a

01:55:48--> 01:56:07

caste, and you stay like that for the rest of your life. That may be the most extreme form of this, you know, levels based upon race and caste, you know, in Sanskrit, Hindi is actually is referred to it's color, something to do with your race and your color. Okay, so

01:56:08--> 01:56:14

we first have to look into ourselves, right? And try to understand why does a person think that they're better?

01:56:16--> 01:56:36

Some people think that they're better because of their families, right their language. But if you think you're better because of your family, then look at the uncle of the prophets of Salaam, Abu lahab. He was Hashimi he wasn't the noble family of the prophet SAW Selim. But according to the court, and he's burning in hell,

01:56:37--> 01:56:39

even though he was shady.

01:56:40--> 01:57:24

So family is not enough. We respect the family of the prophets are solid, but your lineage is not really enough. Okay. And the scholars say if you think you're better than look at your creation, look at yourself. In a short time, we get older, we get weak, and eventually we die. And when you die, and they put you in the ground, nobody wants to go down in that hole with you. I don't care how rich and famous you are, right how much property you own. Nobody's going down there with you. We come from a humble place, and we shall return inshallah, to a humble place. So we need to go to the roots of racism and see ideologically right, deconstruct history, history has to be rewritten

01:57:24--> 01:57:29

according to everybody's stories, right, and not just the story of the conqueror.

01:57:30--> 01:57:31

But everybody's story,

01:57:32--> 01:58:02

the ideological racism that has to be dealt with racial names he had given, and in society, institutionalized racism has to be dealt with, where every group, according to their abilities, would have upward mobility, and not be stopped, because there are certain nationalities. This is how it has to be played out. But Muslims today, we have a very serious road in front of us. Because tribalism phobia

01:58:03--> 01:58:12

exists as a process of upset, there's a filthy thing. And it does exist amongst us. And we can never expect to get the help of a lot.

01:58:13--> 01:58:56

If we are discriminating one against another. That's one of the reasons why after the golden age at Muslims actually went down is because of this. So now, what is happening is that more and more people are coming together and starting to appreciate each other, not based on color, but based upon the action of the person, the piety of the person. This is what the court ad actually teaches, or granites, all the other islands are made of volcanic rock of corals. But this is about this is granite formation. And they claim they are the only island chain like that in the world. Okay, and when that when the Gondwana when when the massive continent broke up, that made the present day

01:58:56--> 01:59:22

South America, you know, Middle East, Asia, Africa, you know, Australia, when that broke up, they were in the middle. And they didn't go to either side, they got stuck in the middle. Right. So it's literally like a mountain under the water sticking up. And the top of it is the set of these islands, you know, these granite formations. So it's like, what they would call in the West like Jurassic Park. It's like when you're walking there is like you're in the age of the dinosaurs.

01:59:23--> 02:00:00

Because the formations and they're in the vegetation, and the gret is really strange. And some of the rocks look like alien rocks are something something from a meteorite. Awesome. So this is what is really strange about, you know, the islands there. And they usually talk about Seychelles, they say the rich and the famous and all that. But actually the majority of the people in the Seychelles are poor people. It's a creole population. And they have drug problems and just like other problems like anywhere else in the world, and Islam is spreading there now, Islamic information center is open a public exhibition and there's a big anti

02:00:00--> 02:00:12

drug program going on. And Muslims are taking a leading role there in the Seychelles. So it's very interesting possibility for the future in that region, but it's a granite for information. Now, the brother here in the front has got a question.

02:00:21--> 02:00:36

as Muslims, we are sure that Allah is the Creator, and he controls everything. And also we know experts in life, about the healing powers of Quran. Now I understand that the people are the religion

02:00:37--> 02:00:39

may be a Christian or

02:00:40--> 02:00:46

people are so convinced about their unique powers and give importance to them.

02:00:47--> 02:00:49

And how they can be how it happens,

02:00:51--> 02:00:54

or how it is so much.

02:01:01--> 02:01:10

Okay, I'm not exactly sure which group you're talking about, but science and medicine, healing, using natural

02:01:11--> 02:01:38

herbs and different things like that, this is something which is shared by all all nations, it's not only for Muslims. So, within Hinduism, within Christianity, native religions, you will find people who develop systems of healing using natural products and other things which are very effective. So, they are able to use these and they have charisma, and they are able to attract people to these groups. But

02:01:39--> 02:02:23

in terms of the the spiritual things, this is the weakness of human beings, that human beings they will follow a charismatic leader, you know, and they get caught up in you know, the sounds and the sights of the group feeling which is developed, right, this is a type of group bomb, you know, propaganda. Even the Nazis, Goebbels was the Nazis propaganda experts. You know, Hitler was I was, I was a tremendous speaker, and they could brainwashing using propaganda. This is what is being used today. You know, and BBC and CNN, right, and all these programs, right? The man standing in front of you, he sounds so correct. He's lying 100%.

02:02:24--> 02:02:34

But he's so professional about it, you believe him? You might be standing right in the place, right? And the opposite is happening, but he says it. So effectively, you look around and say, is he right or wrong?

02:02:36--> 02:03:12

Right? This is magic, like the Sahaba. Like the magicians and the time of fit out, they had the ability to create illusions, right? So they would throw this sticks and it turned, it looked like snakes. But what Mussolini's Salaam had, when he threw his I saw, he threw the staff, and it ate up all this snakes. So when the truth really comes, it will consume all of the false ideologies that exist all around, but it needs people who are sincere and serious about putting it into practice, and putting it into their lives.

02:03:18--> 02:03:19

To the level of United Nations.

02:03:26--> 02:04:12

Okay, this is a very, very good question, in terms of what we can actually do. And I believe, honestly, that we can do something as individuals, that if people start to change their own lives, that it can actually eventually work up. It doesn't have to be from top down, it can come from the bottom up, and we that the common people, the lowly people, who have no political power, who do not have millions of dollars, or other currencies, right, we can do something, even just by reusing things, recycling things, right? Not just throwing cans around and poisoning our bodies and poison the environment. Right stop to try to live a more natural way, right, have a smaller carbon imprint

02:04:12--> 02:04:56

on the earth, right? Try in the best following sooner, right and stay away from chemical things, right and destroying the environment. And when it starts to to work, it starts to move, you know, it eventually grows in an expense. Also, we can pressure our leaders, you know, to be more involved in this struggle to protect the environment, because it is for the good of the leaders and our community because our societies are going to be destroyed. But pressure needs to be applied. articles can be written into the papers, pressures applied to the leader, look at the situation. Right? So we don't have such a terrible carbon imprint and destroy the environment, so much around

02:04:56--> 02:04:59

us. So we can start and we whatever we do.

02:05:00--> 02:05:39

At least on the Day of Judgment, we will, we can face a loss of $1. And say I tried to do something, I did something on my own, even if I didn't have the power, but I tried to do something. So every individual needs to learn what it is to reuse things, recycle things, you know, to start looking at more natural type of products to avoid chemicals in their food, and their lifestyle. And it will actually help us in our own lives, the more that we are able to live in this natural way, it's really closer to the sooner you really look at the sun of the premises on how he ate and how he lived, you will see that it's very environmentally friendly, actually the way they used to live in

02:05:39--> 02:05:41

in a similar way. And we can still be modern

02:05:43--> 02:05:51

and follow the sun don't have to go back all the way 1400 years, but we can take the principles of the sun, and then apply them to the world we are living in today

02:05:57--> 02:05:58

is another question.

02:06:00--> 02:06:43

Do you feel that Omar is getting stronger outside the Middle East? in areas of Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, in North America, but the array here is weakening? Okay, I can't comment on what is happening in the Middle East, because I don't live in the Middle East. There are people accepting Islam, many Aboriginal people around the world are actually

02:06:43--> 02:07:21

accepting Islam. Even in the United States, when you think that Islam is under attack, it's still the fastest growing religion, a lot of people accepting Islam. So this is the reality of the world we're living today. You know, no, they will not be able to put out the light of Allah. Right? It's like a fool trying to blow out the sun. He thinks the sun is too hot. So he gathers all his friends around, and they blow up the sun. Right? They'll never put it out. Right? And that is the reality. But we have to look at ourselves. Are we practicing Islam? Are we part of the problem? or part of the solution? as some people would say? Right? Where do we stand? That's what we have to look at

02:07:21--> 02:07:26

now, and deal with what is in ourselves. First? Not

02:07:31--> 02:07:32

a question about this.

02:07:35--> 02:07:38

As a Muslim, you're not supposed to believe what

02:07:40--> 02:07:42

you told most of the things.

02:07:44--> 02:07:46

I myself I had an encounter with.

02:07:47--> 02:07:59

Like, my friend was showing him his hand and I was like, it's nothing. So actually, he told me many things about myself. So I think one of the biggest.

02:08:06--> 02:08:07

Okay, well, you know,

02:08:09--> 02:08:50

there's different opinions in terms of magic. Some people take a position magic does not exist, right? It's all superstition and whatever. Other people believe in magic, as though it is revelation. Right? But our position is, is that magic does exist, it is a reality. Right? And within our sources that the Canada wizards, at the time of the prophet SAW Selim, and many of these people, they contact the jinn and the genome made from smokeless fire, and they live in a parallel world. And so these Jin would steal into the atmosphere, and then get messages as they're coming down, that actually get certain informations. Okay, so this car had this car had would actually, he tells you,

02:08:50--> 02:09:30

you know, 100 things, most of them are wrong, but a few of them are right. You got something right. And we as human beings, we forget what he said, That's wrong. And we only remember what is right. Okay. That's how they work. And they watch you right? As soon as you come in the door, they read you. He's a worker, look how we walked, look at his shoes, look how he holds his hand, and then read you and then they'll start saying things about you as soon as you come inside, right? And so they'll get certain things about you. And they can even look at you, when they say something and you start nodding like that, then they come off. If you start to go like this, then they go the other way.

02:09:31--> 02:09:40

Right, so they know how to read you, right? And that's what you got to realize a lot of it is trickery, but there are some of them, actually have contact with the gym.

02:09:41--> 02:09:59

And they will know certain things about you because of their contact with the gym. And it is the evil gin By the way, and it's dangerous. That's why we have to seek refuge in this right and stay away from it and seek refuge from it. Because it does have some power and if it hits a believer

02:10:00--> 02:10:28

Then now it's for a test. It's for purification or a test. Right? But, you know, the best way is just not to be involved. If you live a halau life, right? You're fasting, eating halau food, making your prayers. You're okay. A person called me up in Toronto and they said, you know, he said, my wife, every every, sometimes a big black object comes at the bottom of the bed.

02:10:29--> 02:11:01

Right? She sees it. I don't see it, but she sees. Okay, and what should we do brother Abdullah? So I said, Okay, we're in Canada. I said, Brother, do you eat halau food? And he said, Well, we're in Canada, you know, and we're far away. And sometimes I tried to eat a lot. Okay. I said, Do you make a lot regular? He said, Well, you know, it's cold in Canada. And I can't always make my salop I try, you know, sometimes, right? So okay. Right. So then he said,

02:11:02--> 02:11:04

you know, and she's on the other line.
