Heart Therapy: Episode 4 – Characteristics of the Healthy Heart

Welcome to this latest episode of heart therapy.

In the previous episode, we discussed the different kinds of hearts. And that is because not everyone's heart is the same.

We have different kinds of hearts. And so we have the sound heart. And we have the dead heart, and we have the diseased heart.

In this episode,

we're going to focus on one of those hearts, and that is the sound heart or the healthy heart. And we want to know, what are the distinguishing features of this heart? What are the characteristics of this heart? What are the signs that perhaps you have this heart or that you don't have it?

And so, as we mentioned previously, this heart is mentioned in the Quran, where Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned upon the tongue of His Messenger, Ibrahim alayhis salaam. When he said voila, to Houdini oma you Basu praying to Allah He said,

Oh Allah do not disgrace me on the day that they are all resurrected. Yama lion for melon wala by noon

on the day when there will not be any benefit

to anyone from their wealth or their children. In a law her be kerbin Saleem, except the one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.

And Allah subhanho wa Taala also mentioned

in the very beginning of surah tool and fal, when he said,

describing to us some of the characteristics of the believers.

Allah subhanho wa Taala says in nem, moon and larina era Zoo Kira Allahu wa Jalla

that the believers are only those, who when a lot is mentioned, their hearts become fearful.

Their hearts shake

at the remembrance of Allah,

what either totally, utterly him to who is that who he man and when a lot of Verses are recited to them, it increases them in ina.

Why now Bohemia to work alone, and they are those upon there are those who rely upon Allah upon their Lord. And then Allah says Allah Dena Yuki Muna salata, huami, Melrose acuna home, Yun goon

and they are those who establish a Salah they establish their prayers, and from that which we have given them, they spent meaning in charity.

And so these are some of the characteristics of the believers who have sound hearts. here Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned to us several descriptions

of the believers.

And Allah mentions here that

the believers are only those who have the descriptions

and if you notice

These characteristics that are mentioned here that Allah mentioned here,

combined between

both interactions and outward physical actions. And so Allah mentions that the believers are those who, when they hear the remembrance of Allah, their hearts become fearful, this is an action of the heart. And when a lot of Verses are recited to them, it increases them in a man where in their hearts why, because

he man, where, where is it located, it is located in the heart, and it appears upon the rest of the body parts.

And they are those who put their reliance upon a lot a token, this is an action of the heart. But this is not the only set of descriptions that Allah mentioned. A lot also mentioned that the believers are those who pray, they establish their solo act. And there are those who give Zakat, and they spend of what Allah has given to them, proving that the description of a man, a woman who is a workman, a believer, it is not one who simply says I believe it is not one who simply says a man is in my heart. And you don't have to judge me based on based on what I'm doing. No, Eman is a combination of belief in the heart, seeing professing that belief on your tongue. And then not just

that, but also,

but also

doing the actions that are required for a person to be called a woman or a believer.

And so the believer, he is alive,

and

the disbeliever he is dead.

Now, the dead, he is not commanded to pray. He is not commanded to fast. He is not commanded to give in charity. He's not commanded to do anything. Why? Because he's dead.

Until the spirit of a man is blown into him, and he does becomes he does comes to life. And now he is ready to take on the commandments and the prohibitions. So while he is dead, there is no use in him praying, there is no use in him fasting, he's not even required to do that he's dead, how can someone who is dead do anything.

And so, we say that this is the state of the disbeliever. This is the state of the disbeliever.

And so, when this disbeliever

if Allah wills for him to be guided, and his heart comes to life with a man, then it is ready to receive the commandments and the prohibitions. However, just to point out, this does not mean that the disbelievers will not be brought to account on the Day of Judgment for abandoning Eman and also for abandoning the legislations of a law.

Rather, the disbelievers even though they are not within the fold of Islam, they will be held to account before Allah on the Day of Judgment, for not having prayed for not having fasted for not having done all of the commandments of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And this is the

more correct scholarly view on this particular issue and the one who's best

and so, the believer he is alive, but every single person who is alive, He is either healthy, or he is ill.

The one with a sound heart. He is healthy, and the one with a diseased heart. He is the one who is sick and illnesses of the heart diseases of the heart. They all can be brought back to two things either a shampoo hat or a shower. And so should we had are the doubts

the uncertainties that shaitan whispers into our minds regarding a loss of Hannah who attacked it

Regarding the legislation's of Allah subhanho wa Taala he throws doubts into our minds regarding this Deen.

As for a Shabbat, then they are the lustful desires, the bodily desires, that Allah has forbidden us, from fulfilling them in this

particular forbidden way, fulfilling our lustful desires. And so all diseases of the hearts and all sicknesses over the hearts, they can be brought back to these two things.

And so it is the heart that has submitted itself to Allah subhana wa tada submitted to His commandments, it is this heart, that is the sound heart. And there is no longer any opposition, there is no longer any opposition to the commandments of Allah. And so it does not fall into the Shahada. Nor is there any opposition to what Allah has informed us. And this goes against the shubo hat. And so a person he simply submits to what Allah has mentioned, he doesn't argue he doesn't oppose, so he has saved from Shabbat.

And so this sound heart, the person who possesses it.

A law alone is his only goal. He does not want anything besides a law and submitting to the obedience of Allah and His commandments. Also, there is no should be hacked there. There are absolutely no doubts that come between him and believing in what Allah has informed us. Nor are there any shallotte that come between him and pursuing the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And so, when this happens, when this happens, the heart becomes free of shear.

And it becomes free of innovations. And it becomes free of indulging in sins and it becomes free of ignorance and it becomes free of heedlessness. And so once the heart reaches this level of healthiness, Allah subhanho wa Taala rewards it in this life before the next with five rewards. Once the heart it reaches this high level of servitude to Allah subhana wa tada

where nothing comes in its way between its relationship with Allah subhanahu wa tada Allah subhana wa tada rewards this heart with five rewards.

And so we'll mention these rewards after we take a very quick break.

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh welcome back to this episode of Hart therapy.

Before the break, we had mentioned some of the attributes or some of the characteristics of the sound heart. And so we mentioned that the sound heart It is the heart that does not allow anything to come in between it and Allah subhanho wa Taala

and so, there are two things that all diseased hearts fall into one of these two things, either should we had doubts and uncertainties or shahadat base desires lustful desires and so the sound heart is completely free of falling into these two danger zones.

And so, when this happens when the heart it becomes sound like this, it becomes healthy like this. It becomes free of shift associate

partners with a lot, it becomes free of all kinds of innovations in this religion, it becomes free from indulging in sins, it becomes free of wandering in ignorance, and it becomes free of heedlessness.

And so, the heart once it reaches such a high level,

Allah subhanho wa Taala rewards it in this life with five things. The heart itself is rewarded with five things. What are these five things? Allah subhanahu wa has mentioned them in different places in the corner.

The first is the law grants this hard to life. And the second is that Allah grants this heart a cure.

And the third is that Allah grants this heart and guidance. And the fourth is the alog grants, this heart tranquility. And the fifth is that a law grants this heart, a love for email.

And so Allah subhanho wa Taala says regarding the first regarding life,

a woman can have eaten for now, why jalna Allah who ruled on him, she believes in us, and is one who was dead, and we gave him life and made for him light by with what by which he walks among the people come and matter who feel volumetrics or Bihari demeanor is he like the one who is in darkness, never to emerge from that darkness. And so a lot of describes that He grants such a heart with life. The second

thing that Allah rewards this heart with is a cure a Shi fat. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala says

regarding the believers,

who, when they fight against the disbelievers, among the things that they gain,

among the rewards that they gain Allah subhanho wa Taala says, while yes feel Surah COVID meaning

and healing, curing the breasts of the believing people. And so here a lot of mentions that the believers, their hearts, and their chests, whatever disease it may have, it is cured of that disease.

And as for guidance or loss of Hannah, who without us there's a woman named Bella he the callback whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart. So here Allah mentions that the heart is guided.

As for tranquility, Allah subhanho wa Taala says, Who a lady Angela Sakina toughie. kulu meanie Leah's dad, he man and Leah's dad. He man and na Imani him, Allah subhanho wa Taala says that it is he who sat down tranquility into the hearts of the believers so that they would increase in Eman along with their present.

And so here, Allah subhanho wa Taala says that he sends a Sakina or tranquility upon the hearts of the believers. And finally,

a law granting love for a man to these hearts. Allah subhanho wa Taala says, When I came to la de la cama de man was a Yahoo few kulu become macabre la Coco for all four sakala Sha. Allah says, Allah has made a man beloved to you. He has caused it to become beloved to your hearts, and he has made he has made a man pleasing in your hearts. And then Allah says, and he has made disbelief, Kovac and defiance and disobedience, hateful to you. And so, here a lot mentions that he has made a man beloved to our hearts, and he has made the opposite of a man which is cofre to be dis to be disliked to our hearts.

And so these are the rewards for those who have trained their hearts until they become completely sound. Allah subhanho wa Taala rewards them with these rewards in this life before the next

finally

before we

conclude this episode, I wanted to mention

that a broker, may Allah have mercy upon him, he mentioned eight signs of a healthy heart. He mentioned eight signs of a healthy heart. And so I want you to pay attention to these signs. And I want you to ask yourself,

are you characterized as having this kind of heart. The first is that you consider yourself as belonging to the next world, and not to this world. And so you are a stranger in this world, anxious to reach your abode, in the hereafter. Secondly, you continue to be upset with yourself. Anytime that you commit a sin, until you finally and completely repent to Allah subhanho wa Taala.

Thirdly,

you are more upset and unhappy if you miss your daily recitation of the Quran, and your physical remembrance of a lot

more than if you had lost your wealth.

Fourthly,

fourthly, that you find greater pleasure

worshipping Allah than any pleasure in eating and drinking

fifthly that your worries, and your concerns about this world leave you whenever you get up, and stand before a lot. And you say Allahu Akbar, entering into a Salah.

sixthly that your only concern, and worries are about a lot and doing deeds only for his sake.

Seventh Lee

that

you are more concerned

and stingy about wasting time than a greedy person is with respect to his money.

And eight Lee. And lastly, that you are more concerned about the correctness of your deeds rather than the performance of the deeds themselves. And so these are some of the characteristics of a sound heart, I want you to ask yourself,

do you fit any one of these eight descriptions? If you do, then perhaps it is a sign that you have a sound part.

Finally, on one last note,

we should remember that there are many doors that lead to our hearts.

If we want to have pure sound hearts, we should make sure that we know

what we are allowing into our hearts.

And so there are four mean doors, or gateways to our hearts,

our tongue,

our ears, our eyes, and our minds.

And so the tongue

whatever it odors, whatever it says that affects the heart. And so

if you use your tongue, to say good things, to remind people about Allah, to recite the Quran, to say the vicar of Allah,

that will affect your heart and your Eman will increase.

As for your ears, then whatever your ear listens to

it affects your heart. And so

if you listen to that, which is beneficial to your heart, and so, if you listen to the Quran, if you listen to admonition,

if you listen to anything that is good, and reminds you of the zero, this will directly affect your heart and it will increase your in

your eyes. Whatever you look at

the heart, it absorbs it. And so the heart becomes affected. And so if you were to look

at the great creation of Allah subhanho wa Taala use your eyes as Allah has commanded

To do in the Quran, to use our eyes and observe the great enormous creation of Allah subhanho wa Taala. Look at this universe around you use your eyes and contemplate looking at that it will affect your heart and your Eman will increase. And finally,

your mind whatever you busy your mind with, regardless of what it is, it directly affects your heart. And so if you busy your mind, thinking about Allah subhanho wa Taala thinking about his greatness, thinking about the many blessings that Allah has showered you with your heart will become affected, and it will increase your image. And so, if you were to do this, then it will lead to a sound heart. And so these in summary are some of the characteristics of that sound heart that I asked Allah subhanho wa Taala to grant each and every single one of us with this heart so that we bring it before him on that day.
