So, he is the EverLiving. And so the life of Allah is complete and perfect in every way from every perspective

in fact, there is no life that exists, except that he is the one who granted it.

Or someone who is dead, and in their grave,

or something that has no life to begin with,

do any of these three deserve worship?

None of them deserve worship because they're missing this essential attribute

of life.

someone who is living, but dies, let's take the example

Sleep is

a minor form of death. So when you sleep

and you see the dreams that you do, it's because your soul has left your body and is wandering around and seeing those things. Then when you wake up, the soul comes back

So it's a minor form of death.

And so Allah subhanho wa Taala negated from himself. Not only

that he cannot die, but also that

he cannot sleep and he doesn't need sleep.

And so Allah affirmed for himself

00:15:22--> 00:15:24

perfectness from every angle

and that's what we believe in, whenever we affirm a name or an attribute of Allah, we are negating its exact opposite.

So for example, when we say that a lot is a high, every living what are we negating?

That Allah cannot

that cannot work, he cannot die. We are negating the exact opposite. When we affirm for example, that Allah is Aladdin, the most just

what are we negating?

We are negating from Allah injustice.

So every name or attribute of Allah that we affirm for Allah,

from Allah, death, drowsiness and sleep.

And so that further shows the perfectness of ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada.

I'll tell you has been mentioned in the Quran only three times.

And these three times

are the ones we've already mentioned.

There are three meanings of I'll tell you.

There are three meanings of I'll tell you. The first is that I'll tell you is the one who is perfectly established without any support.

Secondly, he is the one who is independent

and self sustaining,

meaning that he does not depend on any of his creation, to exist.

So Allah subhanho wa Taala is independent in every way.

He is self sustaining,

00:19:02--> 00:19:04

he sustains himself.

00:19:06--> 00:19:11

He does not depend on any of his creation, for his existence

00:19:12--> 00:19:14

and his sustenance.

00:19:15--> 00:19:18

And the third thing is that he is the one who

00:19:20--> 00:19:22

sustains everyone else.

00:19:26--> 00:19:30

He is the sustainer of all of existence.

00:19:32--> 00:19:37

So he is the self sustainer and the all Sustainer.

00:19:40--> 00:19:43

He is completely independent,

00:19:44--> 00:19:49

on his own, not in need of any support

00:19:50--> 00:19:53

in order to exist, and at the same time.

00:19:55--> 00:19:59

Everything besides Him is in need of Him in order to exist

00:20:02--> 00:20:04

We'll look at how powerful the meaning of

00:20:05--> 00:20:06

the union is.

Look at how powerful the meaning of a union is. And so Allah subhanho wa Taala sustains us and the entire creation

He provides for us.

Every single creation of a lot is dependent upon Allah, in order to exist, not only it's coming into existence, not only its creation, but even after that,

no creation of a walk in exists after Allah has created it, and just, you know, take care of itself.

Every single creation of Allah is in need of Allah in order to take care of it to sustain it.

Whether it be the living or the nonliving

whether it be things here on Earth, were the planets, the stars, the galaxies.

If they did not have the support of a lot of sustenance of Allah, Allah taking care of them.

The universe would be in chaos

and life on Earth would not be possible.

So we need Allah support and cannot be independent in our existence. So while Allah is completely independent, and self sustaining, we are the opposite. We are fully dependent upon him and this is what Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions

when he calls upon mankind

to turn to him.

00:21:45--> 00:21:47

And then he tells us that he is not in need of anyone.

So these two names of Allah and Haley and I'll tell you

what do these two names teach us? First of all,

that Allah subhana wa Tada is a high ever living

and everything else will perish will die.

the life of his creation,

as opposed to the life of his creation. The second thing that these two names teach us is that Allah subhanho wa Taala is to you,

the one whom all things exist, and all of his creation depend upon him. So none of them can exist

as we mentioned, or stay alive without him, even for the blink of an eye.

00:24:33--> 00:24:40

Even for the blink of an eye, while he does not need any of them even for a blink of an eye.

00:24:44--> 00:24:46

None of Allah's creation

00:24:47--> 00:24:49

can stay alive

00:24:51--> 00:24:54

without him for the blink of an eye

00:24:57--> 00:24:59

and he subhanho wa Taala does not need

00:25:00--> 00:25:04

Have you any of his creation, for even the blink of an eye?

00:25:06--> 00:25:13

He is the one upon whom all of creation exists. And they are in need of Him to manage

00:25:15--> 00:25:16

their affairs.

00:25:17--> 00:25:21

We are all in need of ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada. And here a question comes

when people hear that Allah subhanho wa Taala He created us

00:25:32--> 00:25:32

to worship Him.

00:25:34--> 00:25:36

And so that is the purpose of our life. It's all they ask.

Does that then mean that Allah is in need of our worship? If He created us to worship Him for that purpose, then that means he needs our worship.

And so their answer to that is that No.

Allah subhanahu wa Tada He created us to worship Him, not because he is in need of that

00:26:04--> 00:26:08

but rather because we are the ones who are in need of that

00:26:09--> 00:26:12

we are the ones who are in need of that worship.

The third

00:26:18--> 00:26:32

the third lesson that we learned from these two names is the importance of calling upon Allah subhanahu wa Tada by these two names combined, as they have been mentioned in the Quran and high end tell you

and that's because there's a hadith in which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

If we were to divide the attributes of Allah into two kinds,

attributes related to his essence and who he is
