One of the early Muslims a righteous man by the name of Ibrahim, Ibrahim Allah, and a man approached him and it was said that this man used to constantly sin against Allah azza wa jal. So this man comes to Abraham at a time complaining and he needs a reminder or something to help him stop sinning against Allah. So Ibrahim of the Adhan tells him I will give you five pieces of advice. He said, the first one, if you're going to sin against Allah subhanaw taala, then at least do not use any of His provision, do not eat of His food, or use any of his drink. And the man said, that is greater than the first one, because all the land belongs to Allah azza wa jal. So Abraham, Abraham, Allah tells him, does it make sense to sin against Allah on his land, while you're eating of his food and using his provision? So the man said, Give me the third piece of advice. He said, If you insist upon doing the first two, then at least if

you're going to sin against Allah azza wa jal, and then go where he can't see you. And the man said that was greater than the first two. He said, does it make sense to disobey Allah azza wa jal on his land while you're eating of his food, and while he's looking at you. So the man said, Give me the fourth piece of advice. Abraham that hombre mo Allah said, if you if none of this will stop you, then at least do what you're doing. But when the angel of death comes to take your soul, tell him to give you a few minutes, so that you can repent. So the man said he won't allow me to then I'll give you the fifth piece of advice. And we go to school and we go to work, but few days of the year we call in sick? How can we think Allah azza wa jal for all the possible harm that he is pushing away from us? What is sad brothers and sisters is that Allah subhanaw taala gave every single one of us the ingredients to live a happy life, a study that was conducted by one of the universities, they wanted to test people's level of happiness, and if there's a relationship to their level of income, so they tested people who are low to middle class income, they tested their level of happiness, then they tested the level of happiness of people who are multimillionaires. And then they did something interesting. They tested the level of happiness of people who were low income and won the lottery suddenly came into millions, to see if there's any increase in level of happiness. And the study

concluded, there was zero to little increase in levels of happiness. What they concluded was that if you have the basics of any type of shelter does not have to be extravagant, and you can eat, it doesn't have to be fancy food, and you have your loved ones around you, then you actually have the ingredients to live a happy life. And what is sad is that every single one, Allah subhanaw taala has given these basic ingredients, but we push them aside, and we assume that our happiness lies in something that is distant, something that is unattainable in the future in a career and we live a miserable life even though right here Allah azza wa jal gave us the ingredients to having a happy

life. So we should always remember the blessings Allah Subhana Allah has given us and the scholars say that you always look at those who have less than you in the dunya so that way, you feel more thankful for what you have. So if you have an old car, you look at those who are taking transportation don't have a car, you don't look at it.

Driving to get million dollar vehicles. If you have a small, humble home, you look at those who have homes of lesser quality than yours, not those who have far more. And the problem is rather than sisters, that most people always look at what they don't have. And by doing so they forget what they have. This coming Thursday, we have another event called the foster parenting program as you know that there are a lot of Muslim kids who are going through the foster care system and there are no Muslim families to take up the responsibility to provide them a home.
