and serving the deen of Allah azza wa jal is something that is required of me.

And it is required of everyone here.

And so I'm speaking to myself, and I'm speaking to you. Yes, you.

You, too.

Everyone here.

And so I'm going to revolve around five main points. And the first is that serving the religion of Allah azza wa jal, it goes hand in hand with being part of it. And this was something that all of the Sahaba they understood immediately, as soon as one of their hands touched the hand of Rasulullah sallallahu Sallam and pledged allegiance to him.

I said the Chateau a La Ilaha illa Allah wa shahada and Mohammed Abdullah Rasool, you found that they felt a desire without being instructed without being taught for 10 years, they felt a desire to go and serve this religion that they had just entered into. And so you see someone like Abu Bakr Siddiq or the Allahu Anhu way, very early on,

They felt this immediate obligation. And so the first part is that every single one of us, we have an obligation. We have a service that we need to offer for this religion.

We have to think about that and we have to be concerned about serving the deen of Allah azza wa jal with what we know. We have been listening to many of us for our entire lives. Is this a question that we think about? Number two, it is a lifelong endeavor, service of the religion of Allah azza wa jal, it does not end at any point in time. It does not end according to the response. If people aren't listening to what you have to say that doesn't stop your service. No idea he said, and he says, God Allah be in need now to call me later on when I hold up. My Lord, I have called upon my people in the day and the night. For them yes, it home to Isla Ferrara. The only thing that my

He presents them to heat. And then finally after they've done listening, and he's presented everything that he wants to share with them, he says, As for one of you,

he's not going to make it and as for the other, he is going to

he says, As for one, he's not going to make it and as for the other than he's going to serve wine for his master. So use if it is synonymous presenting the Dawa, even though his circumstances has has has changed so drastically, and so, that is the second part. The second part is is that it does not change at any parts of your life. It is something that continues, I want to give an example because you may say those are prophets. What about people Jaffery may be positive companion of Rasulullah sallallahu Sana, Jaffa had moved to Abyssinia he had emigrated to Abyssinia to to to protect himself and to rescue himself from the persecution of polish. And he stays in Abyssinia for

11 years. And it's very hard to live in that foreign state.

Which brings me to my third point, which is that serving is not something that is for some, and not for others. Well, I didn't study for 10 years somewhere, so I can't really serve. I can't give lectures so I can't really serve. I don't have this particular skill or that particular skill. No, every single one of us has to serve.

But the challenge is figuring out in what capacity can I serve?

And that's something that you have to figure out and that is a concern that you have to have, how can I serve the religion of Allah azza wa jal, what talents have Allah has given me what concerns have Allah has given me and that I facilitate and I mobilize those to serve the religion of Allah azza wa jal. You know what Shavon does? Is shaytaan casts into a person's heart and he says, no, no serving. Islam is not for you. It's for them. Yes, but it's not for you. You with everything that you've done you with what you did last weekend. And what you did this morning and what you did last night and what you did last year, did you forget who you are?

And now you want to serve the religion of Allah azza wa jal.

You know, what, could you have any other Hapa

Oh, well you don't put that in a toe level the prophets of Allah Islam says every single one of us is a sinner and the best of sinners are those who repent by.

A person should not add to their sins, the sin of forsaking the religion of Allah azza wa jal.

A person should not add to their mistakes, the mistake of never showing up where Allah azza wa jal desired for them to show up because they were so overburdened by their mistakes. There was a man by the name of Abu Musa Jenna Sufi, at Abu Mazen Asaka, he was a poet. And he was a person who was addicted to alcohol. And he was lashed. And he drank again. And he was lashed. And he drank a gun and he was lashed. And he drank together. And he wanted to participate in the campaign of Allah DC against the Persian Empire. Under the great general side, the evening it will cost the companion of Rasulullah sallallahu.

An Abu Mahajan goes with this blessed army.

And imagine even then, is carrying with him some alcohol.

And when the two armies meet up, and there's a delay before the beginning of the battle side, they have a new Casa roster, and they're both sending messengers between each other,

I would imagine gets a little bit bored.

And he remembers that he has this alcohol that stowed away.

And so shaytaan gets the better of him and he drinks

and he gets caught. And sadly, never will class gets furious. How is this person in this moment, this day of the days of Allah coming with that sin.

And so he bans him from participating, and he has him shackled, he is not going to join this battle, I cannot afford to have this person amongst the ranks of the Muslims. And I will imagine, here's the clashing of the sorts and He's shackled. And he's sober. He's upset that he is missing out in this moment that he thinks to himself, well, I'm a sinner, if I go, I'm going to cause the Muslims to lose. If I go, I'm going to do this. And I'm going to do that he's reciting poetry, but I can't share it now. And he's saying he's yelling at the top of his lungs hoping that the wife of Saudi no class, here's him, and he says, free me letting me go, if you free me, I'm going to show you I'm not

going to return again, I'm going to show you something special. And so she lets him go. And he takes the horse of size and the Spear of size. And he goes into battle inside the of number of classes watching the battle. And he says that looks like my horse. And that style of fighting looks like imagined style. But your engine is shackled. And my horse is in the stable, what is going on? And after the Battle of imagined goes back, and he shackles himself again. And he waits for side the new US. And so when the news had come, that side of new cars, hears that, imagine had participated in the battle and he had done what he did. He released him and he said, I am never going to last you

ever again for alcohol? And I would imagine says no, you are lashing me to purify me if you're not going to purify me anymore. I'm gonna stop drinking.

Right but imagine was someone who did not let their sin stop them from serving the religion of Allah azza wa jal. The fourth is recognizing that in serving Islam, we all play different roles. You have to find yours. Every single one of us has different talents. Every single one of us has different things that we can do. Even if that thing is for me to just make the microphone of those who teach louder.

You guys know the story of in Surah trc, Allah azza wa jal as well

as how the courier is almost certain Allah says, given them the example of the people of the city, the messengers came to it. If I'm suddenly in a room with names we sent to them to messengers. For caribou masa isn't happy Friday. Allah says They belied the two messengers so we sent them a third messenger. Now, that's really rare. You're talking about a single city that has three messengers of Allah in that city.

And they said, We are to you messengers. The people rejected them as well. They still rejected them and the conversations recorded in surah. Yaseen and then Allah as Dogen mentioned a man he says, What Yeah, I mean, upset Medina to let you down? Yes.

From the outer periphery of the city, from the furthest end of the city, a man came running. Now what is this person going to say, you know, when there's a shift here, you don't feel like you have I can't even speak what am I going to say the shift is here. What am I going to do there to shoot here? What am I going to say? There are three shields here, what am I going to do? There's nothing for me to do right?

Now, this person has three messengers in the city and they are all giving Dawa to their people. And this man, if the only thing that he can say is Yeah, follow me. Tiberian will study.

All my people listen to what they have to say.

The first is that serving the religion goes hand in hand with being a part of it. The second is remembering that it's a lifelong endeavor. It's not something that you simply do when you're in high school, or when you're in college, or when you're single, or before you have kids or before you became a professional. It's something that you do all of your life. The third is that serving the deen is not for some and it is not, it's not just for some at the expense of others. No, it is for every single

one of us. Fourth is that in serving Islam, recognizing that we all play different roles, and that we all have to find ours. And the last is, the last point is I wanted to just give some practical examples. But I don't want to I didn't want to give them but because I didn't want people to limit themselves to this to say, okay, these are the ones and I can't do any of them. No, you can find something that you can do. You can find something that you can do. And that's that in and of itself for me to sit and think, What can I do to serve the religion of Allah that thought and that process and that mental exercise in and of itself is serving the religion of Allah? Just for me to sit there

and think and be concerned about that, that in and of itself is serving the religion of Allah azza wa jal? So the first is to simply have concern. How do I feel about the state of the Muslims? How is the state of Islam here? Is it something that's growing? Is it something that's listening? Is that something that I consider to be a concern of mine? Does it have a share in my dua? When I feel like Islam is being misused or misrepresented? Does that harm me? Does that upset me? When I feel like the boundaries of Allah azza wa jal are transgress? Is that something that bothers me? Or do I somehow think that that's the responsibility of the people who run the masjid or that's the

responsibility of people who have this organization or that organization, I have nothing to do with that.

It's something that should be a concern of mine. Number two, is sharing goodness. If I'm if there's an event, somewhere, if there is knowledge that's being shared, I don't come by myself. Yes, I can come by myself. But What's better is for me to have the mentality of a data Yeah, I'm going to bring somebody with me, I'm going to bring that brother I haven't seen him in a long time. I'm going to call this person I'm going to bring them I'm gonna I'm going to just come to you my by myself, there's a person who could have came to gym if I had simply called them and told them I'll pick you up. Who is that person?

I don't do that by myself. I always look to bring more and more people to I'm like a woodworker. I'm gonna, I'm not just going to show up again, and hoard it. I'm going to bring five people with me next time.

Right, I'm gonna change people's lives. Number three, commanding the good and forbidding the evil and I know that seems old fashioned. I'm gonna put them out overnight and I'm gonna now if you command the good and forbid the evil people say, Don't judge me. People say Oh, well, you're restricting me people are. We are an own mother, Allah. Allah says, is the best OMA to ever arise from mankind why time would only been referred to known Andy monka, meno Nebula, you command the good, and you forbid the evil and you believe in Allah azza wa jal. And so when I see something that is wrong, I still show that this is wrong, this is not something that we should condone

that I change it with my hand if I can, if not, I speak out against it. And at the very least, I dislike it in my heart.

The fourth is going out to where people are doing programs in the midst of this great, but if people are gathered outside of the masjid, wherever they are, then I go to where they are. I go to wherever they are, and I talk to them, them, I engage them, then I teach them, then I bring goodness to them then. And there are some people, and there are some places where the best the idea is you

there are some people that you know, and there are some places that you go to where there's no one who's going to remind them about Allah azza wa jal better than you. And so be that person and don't shy away from it.

The last thing I want to share is just there's a book that I read.

years ago was called Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Some of you have probably heard of it's a very famous book in the financial sector. It's called Rich Dad, Poor Dad. And he talks about lessons that he learned from his dad who is rich. And so one of the things that stuck with me is he said, My rich dad, he would never tell me, he would never allow me to say I can't afford something. He would never allow me to use that language. $500,000 car, I can't afford it. He wouldn't allow me to say that. He would always make me change the question and say, How can I afford it? So if it's a $500,000 car, I don't just say how I can't afford it, because then I'm turning off my mind. But if I say how can I afford

it? Then I'm building up a muscle that's looking for opportunities, right? And if I

I always think like that, that I'm going to see opportunities eventually where people don't because I've developed that skill to always look to see how can I accomplish something? And so that was in that context but in the end for me, I wanted to share that with you because it's the same question not just I can't serve the religion of Allah, I can't do anything how can I bring benefit? I can't you just turn off your mind. But if you ask yourself, How can I do it? Then inshallah Tada you'll find the answer I ask Allah azza wa jal to allow us to hear the speech and to follow the best of it. Ask Allah as we get to make us guided guiding of others.
