Alhamdulillah

00:00:04--> 00:00:06

wa Salatu was Salam ala rasulillah Allah

00:00:10--> 00:00:11

regime.

00:00:15--> 00:00:16

Rubbish.

00:00:19--> 00:00:31

Sania Coco Lee is picking up one that is very special elders and my dear brothers and sisters I welcome all of you with Islamic greetings salam wa Alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

00:00:34--> 00:00:38

me peace, mercy and blessings of Allah subhana wa Taala be on all of you.

00:00:41--> 00:00:43

It's my pleasure and an honor

00:00:44--> 00:00:48

to be in the STM University UI team.

00:00:50--> 00:00:50

And the topic

00:00:52--> 00:01:00

for this evening's talk of mine is, what is the purpose of our life?

00:01:03--> 00:01:05

This is a question

00:01:08--> 00:01:18

which very few people really think that what is the purpose of our life? What is the purpose of our existence?

00:01:19--> 00:01:23

What are we doing here? What are we here for?

00:01:27--> 00:01:33

Let us start analyzing from here itself. And I would like to ask the audience this question

00:01:34--> 00:01:48

that how many from here have ever thought the reply? The answer to this question, what is the purpose of our life? Please raise your hand.

00:01:50--> 00:01:54

How many from the audience have ever thought at least once in our life?

00:01:55--> 00:02:00

The reply to the question, what is the purpose of our life? Please raise your hand.

00:02:09--> 00:02:16

Okay, maybe 50 hands raised, or 6070? out of maybe a few 1000?

00:02:18--> 00:02:23

Not bad a couple of percentage Alhamdulillah. At least three 4%. from us I've

00:02:25--> 00:02:26

tried to think,

00:02:28--> 00:02:33

to this query, what is the purpose of our life? One may ask me

00:02:34--> 00:02:42

the doctors are killed? Is it really required? To answer this question? Do we really have to think what is the purpose of our life?

00:02:43--> 00:02:50

Let me give you some examples. Then you realize what is the importance to know what is the purpose of life?

00:02:52--> 00:02:53

What is there was a traveler

00:02:55--> 00:03:12

who comes at a crossroad. And he asks the passerby, where does this road lead to? The passerby asked him the question, Where do you want to go? He said, I don't know. So the passerby replies, then it makes no difference which road you choose.

00:03:16--> 00:03:17

If you want to go anywhere,

00:03:18--> 00:03:24

you don't know that it makes no difference which road you choose. Because you have no goal.

00:03:26--> 00:03:40

Imagine there is a builder who lays the foundation of a building. And when you asked him, How many stories building Do you want to build? And he says, I don't know. What is the area of the building which you want to build? He says I don't know.

00:03:41--> 00:03:43

That means he has no goal.

00:03:49--> 00:03:51

I'd like to give you some few more examples.

00:03:52--> 00:04:00

Once a man asks his neighbor, your dog keeps on Chasing Cars and vehicles.

00:04:01--> 00:04:02

I wonder,

00:04:03--> 00:04:06

Will he ever be able to catch up with the car?

00:04:08--> 00:04:18

So the neighbor replies, I'm not so much concerned whether he'll be able to catch up with the car or not. I'm thinking what will the dog do once he catches up with the car?

00:04:20--> 00:04:22

That means the neighbor was

00:04:23--> 00:04:32

thinking that even if he catch up with the car, if the dog catches up with the car, what will he do? That means the dog has a

00:04:33--> 00:04:38

purposeless goal. Goal is there to catch up with the purposeless goal.

00:04:40--> 00:04:48

And many of us human beings, we have purposeless goals. When we asked most of the human beings, what are you doing?

00:04:49--> 00:04:55

There is a say we are doing graduation. What will you do after finishing a graduation? This I don't know.

00:04:57--> 00:04:59

Their goal is to become a graduate

00:05:00--> 00:05:08

Why you want to become a graduate? The goal is the goal. And many of our students,

00:05:09--> 00:05:15

they want to copy their friends. Why do you want to become a graduate? Because my friend wants to become a graduate.

00:05:16--> 00:05:19

What will you do after becoming graduate? I don't know.

00:05:22--> 00:05:36

You have chosen commerce, why have you chosen commerce? Because my friend has chosen commerce. What will you do after after become a become bachlin commerce? I don't know. What will your friend do after she becomes a bachelors in commerce, I don't know.

00:05:38--> 00:05:39

purposeless goal.

00:05:41--> 00:05:46

Sometimes, many human beings want to just copy without reason.

00:05:48--> 00:05:53

Some of us human being we want to copy celebrities,

00:05:54--> 00:06:07

film stars actors. And I am born in the city of Mumbai, it is known as Bollywood. You may have heard of Mumbai. It produces the maximum number of films in the world more than even Hollywood.

00:06:09--> 00:06:12

I was born in the city called as Mumbai which is Bollywood

00:06:14--> 00:06:23

and we find in Mumbai, many people coming from villages all over India, coming to Mumbai. When you ask them why

00:06:24--> 00:06:42

they have seen the Hindi movie with actor Amitabh Bachchan comes to Bombay overnight he becomes a multimillionaire within a few days you become a multi millionaire. So these poor people are coming from all the villages of India they think that if they come to Bombay, they too will become a multi millionaire overnight, just copying actors and actresses.

00:06:45--> 00:06:46

Some of us human beings,

00:06:47--> 00:06:49

we copy models

00:06:50--> 00:06:57

and when you ask someone Why did you buy this central I 10 car so he will tell you

00:06:58--> 00:07:10

because Shahrukh Khan comes in that ad Shahrukh Khan drives central item. Shahrukh Khan is one of the famous actors. I think he's famous, even famous in Malaysia. Mashallah

00:07:12--> 00:07:18

Shahrukh Khan means everyone knows Shahrukh Khan and I did not know that Shahrukh Khan Amitabh Bachchan are so famous here.

00:07:23--> 00:07:27

They want to buy santro it in because shadow can drive that car.

00:07:28--> 00:07:37

Let me tell you, I doubt whether shadow can own the central item. He may be owning a BMW, or a Mercedes

00:07:39--> 00:07:40

or a Rolls Royce.

00:07:42--> 00:07:47

I think the only time who might have sat in the central item was maybe for doing the advertisement. That's it.

00:07:51--> 00:07:59

Many of us we just follow models. And when we ask why have you bought the tiger watch Shahrukh Khan which Tiger watch

00:08:01--> 00:08:08

doubt whether he would tag or watch before he became an actor. What has Tiger watch got to do with his acting?

00:08:10--> 00:08:12

We are just copying

00:08:13--> 00:08:15

the celebrities, the actors,

00:08:16--> 00:08:22

the models, without realizing whether it's a fact or not and this is how

00:08:23--> 00:08:25

the ad industry it flourishes.

00:08:27--> 00:08:29

It is more of an artificial world.

00:08:36--> 00:08:38

Let me give an example of a businessman,

00:08:39--> 00:08:40

a very rich businessman.

00:08:41--> 00:08:43

He buys a textile company.

00:08:44--> 00:08:53

And when you ask that businessman, why have you bought a textile company? He says because a textile company makes a lot of profit.

00:08:55--> 00:09:04

So he has a goal. His goal is to make profit. But when we asked him the question, what profit do you make in textile industry? He said I don't know.

00:09:06--> 00:09:21

Do you have a feasibility report of this textile company? He says I don't know. Have you hired the CEO? Who's exporting textile? He says no. Do you know where to buy this textile raw materials? I don't know whether you sell the textile? I don't know.

00:09:22--> 00:09:25

So he has a goal to make profit, but no planning.

00:09:27--> 00:09:31

This is an example of a businessman who has a goal. He wants to make a profit but no planning.

00:09:34--> 00:09:35

Let me give you another example.

00:09:38--> 00:09:38

There is a student

00:09:40--> 00:09:42

in the Science University.

00:09:43--> 00:09:52

And his goal is to become the best scientist of the world. So he does the research, who is the best scientist that will be born in human history.

00:09:53--> 00:09:55

And he gets the answer Isaac Newton.

00:09:56--> 00:09:59

He has a goal to become the best scientist in the world.

00:10:00--> 00:10:04

Researchers collect the best scientist is Isaac Newton.

00:10:06--> 00:10:20

Then he studies the lifestyle of Isaac Newton. And each time he tries to imitate, he tries, then he starts keeping long curly hair, like Isaac Newton, he wears clothes like Isaac Newton, he makes shoes like Isaac Newton.

00:10:22--> 00:10:36

This person has a goal, he has a planning, but wrong planning, do you think the head will make him a good scientist, the clothes will make him a good scientist, the shoes will make him a good scientist has a goal has the planning but wrong planning.

00:10:40--> 00:10:44

So with these examples, you come to know how important it is.

00:10:47--> 00:10:53

To have a goal and correct planning. Most of us human beings.

00:10:55--> 00:10:56

We are like that traveler

00:10:57--> 00:11:01

traveling in a road without knowing where to go anywhere.

00:11:02--> 00:11:14

Or like the builder who's building a building without knowing how tall the building is, what is the area of the building, or the dog which is chasing car chasing a goal with with with a purposeless goal,

00:11:15--> 00:11:18

or the friend copying or a man copying the friend

00:11:20--> 00:11:24

or imitating the celebrity actor or a model.

00:11:25--> 00:11:29

Or a businessman buying a textile company has the goal but no plan.

00:11:31--> 00:11:35

Or a student wanting to become the best scientist has a goal has a plan but wrong planning.

00:11:36--> 00:11:46

Coming back to the question, Who is the person who can reply to this question? What is the purpose of life?

00:11:48--> 00:11:49

Who is it?

00:11:51--> 00:11:52

Do you think it is doctors?

00:11:53--> 00:11:54

And the answer is no.

00:11:55--> 00:12:03

Do you think the scientists can give answer to this question? And the answer is no. Do you think the psychologist can give the answer to this question? What is the purpose of a life?

00:12:04--> 00:12:05

And the answer is no.

00:12:07--> 00:12:15

The best who can give the reply to the question What is the purpose of our life is the creator of the human beings.

00:12:18--> 00:12:26

The Creator Allah subhanho wa Taala is the best who can give a reply to this question, what is the purpose of life?

00:12:28--> 00:12:40

And Allah says in his last and final revelation, the Glorious Quran in surah Daria chapter number 51 was the I started my talk with Allah says, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah Allah.

00:12:42--> 00:12:45

That I have only created

00:12:46--> 00:12:47

the gym and the men

00:12:48--> 00:12:49

to worship me.

00:12:52--> 00:12:53

That epic word used here is

00:12:54--> 00:13:05

coming from the root word up, which means a slave. A servant. ibadah means servitude, means obedience, meaning worship.

00:13:08--> 00:13:14

When we follow the commandments of Allah subhanho wa Taala of Almighty God our Creator, we are doing ibadah

00:13:19--> 00:13:34

if we follow the five pillars of Islam, what Allah subhana wa Taala is prescribed for us God bada if you believe in one God and believe there is no other God worthy of worship, and Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah subhanho wa Taala peace be upon him, yada yada.

00:13:36--> 00:13:36

If

00:13:37--> 00:14:05

you're doing if you're in Nevada, if you fast in the month of Ramadan, yada yada, if you follow the guidance of the Quran, by loving your neighbors as Allah says in Surah, Chapter 107 you are doing your Baba. If you abstain from the primary thing which Allah said in the Quran, you're doing a bother if you abstain from having alcohol, as mentioned the Quran in surah chapter five verse 90, then you're doing a bother if you abstain from having pork.

00:14:07--> 00:14:23

As mentioned in chapter five, verse number three, you're doing a bother if abstain from stealing from lying from robbing your dinner Botha In short, if you follow the commandments of Allah subhanho wa Taala and abstain from things that yes prohibited you're doing about

00:14:26--> 00:14:39

any human being can convert each and every action of us into a Baba into worship. If he or she fulfills only two criteria.

00:14:41--> 00:14:49

Number one, that action should only and only be done for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala

00:14:50--> 00:14:59

and number two, it should be done according to the Sunnah of the last and final messenger Prophet Musa masala. So every action of us if you fulfill this

00:15:00--> 00:15:02

condition, do it for the sake of Allah alone

00:15:03--> 00:15:16

and do it according to the phenomenal masala Salam you're doing. So worshipping Allah subhanho wa Taala is so easy every action of ours. If you convert and fulfill these two criteria you're doing you Baba.

00:15:24--> 00:15:27

If you allow me to call the human beings a machine,

00:15:28--> 00:15:36

I would say that the human being is the most complicated machine on the face of the earth, it is more complicated

00:15:37--> 00:15:42

than the most powerful computer in the world. Now whenever we buy a machine

00:15:43--> 00:15:47

along with the machine, we get an instruction manual.

00:15:48--> 00:15:52

More complicated the machine, more requirement of an instruction manual.

00:15:55--> 00:15:56

If you buy

00:15:58--> 00:15:59

a DVD player,

00:16:00--> 00:16:10

it tells you that if you want to play the DVD, insert the DVD, press the play button. If you want fast forward, press the fast forward. Don't drop it from high that will get damaged. Don't immerse it in what it will get spoiled.

00:16:12--> 00:16:26

The instruction manual tells you the do's and don'ts of the machine. If human being is the most complicated machine, don't you think it required the instruction manual? The instruction manual for the human being?

00:16:28--> 00:16:40

Is the last and final revelation, the Glorious Qur'an, the Glorious Quran is the last and final instruction manual for the human beings. The do's and don'ts for a human being is mentioned in this Glorious Quran.

00:16:43--> 00:16:47

what is good and what is bad for the human you mentioned your and it is

00:16:48--> 00:16:51

revealed by the Creator Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:16:55--> 00:16:56

Someone may ask me

00:16:57--> 00:16:58

with this action.

00:16:59--> 00:17:03

Why should we worship Allah? What benefit will Allah get by worshiping Him?

00:17:06--> 00:17:09

Does the law require worship? Why should we praise Him?

00:17:10--> 00:17:12

Does the law require a place?

00:17:13--> 00:17:23

And that's a very good question. But unfortunately, very few people reply to this question. Why does Allah require our worship?

00:17:25--> 00:17:30

Allah plays in Surah Fatiha chapter number 35, verse number 15. Or even

00:17:31--> 00:17:44

you who are in need of Allah, Allah is free of all warns worthy of all praises. Allah is very clear that Allah subhanho wa Taala does not require anyone is independent of everything in this world.

00:17:46--> 00:17:54

Everything is dependent on him. He is independent of everything Allah is free of all warns worthy of all praises.

00:17:55--> 00:17:56

Why should we praise Allah?

00:17:57--> 00:17:59

When we say Allahu Akbar,

00:18:01--> 00:18:23

Allah is the Greatest, do you think Allah becomes greater? Allah is already the greatest, whether you say Allah Akbar one time, then time 110,000 times Allah is already the greatest, he will not he cannot become mogul, it is already the greatest, irrespective whether you say or not, it makes no difference to Allah subhanho wa Taala. So the question is, why do we praise Allah?

00:18:26--> 00:18:27

It is human nature,

00:18:28--> 00:18:30

that whoever we praise

00:18:32--> 00:18:36

and we think someone who's great of your worship, we tend to follow his advice.

00:18:37--> 00:18:41

Let me give you an example. That if your mother has a heart attack,

00:18:43--> 00:18:48

and the lay man on the road comes and tells you that why don't you treat your mother with so and so.

00:18:50--> 00:19:02

Later on, you are aware that there is a very famous cardiologist, the most famous heart specialist in the world, he comes and gives you the treatment, whose treatment Will you follow the layman or the cardiologist?

00:19:03--> 00:19:07

Because, you know, he's famous for number one in the world.

00:19:09--> 00:19:26

So the moment you know that he's famous, and well known for that it is human nature, that you will follow his advice. So the reason Allah subhana wa Taala wants us to praise him. We allow our allies, the greatest allies, the most wise allies, the most knowledgeable.

00:19:29--> 00:19:30

When we say this,

00:19:31--> 00:19:45

and when Allah gives us advice, it becomes human nature that when we say the greatest, we have to follow the advice of the greatest when we say he's the most knowledgeable, we have to follow the advice of the most knowledgeable when we say he's the most wise. We have to follow the advice of the most wise

00:19:46--> 00:19:51

allies asking us to praise him not to benefit him, but to benefit us.

00:19:53--> 00:19:54

When we praise Allah

00:19:55--> 00:20:00

and when Allah is the device in the Quran and through our profit mode.

00:20:00--> 00:20:11

masala salam, we tend to follow the advice, who doesn't benefit the human beings, not Allah. And when Allah sees that his creation of benefiting, he gets happy.

00:20:13--> 00:20:18

So we praise Allah for the benefit of the human being not for the benefit of Allah.

00:20:19--> 00:20:31

This is the basic logic by Allah asked us to worship Him, and to praise him so that it benefits us so that we follow the guidance of the Quran and the Hadith, so that we are successful in this world.

00:20:39--> 00:20:41

Let me give you another example.

00:20:42--> 00:20:45

That there is a couple who has no children.

00:20:46--> 00:20:49

And that couple is sad. Because they have no children.

00:20:50--> 00:20:52

We have an example of a couple

00:20:53--> 00:21:00

who have a child. And after growing, when he reaches the age of teen 1516,

00:21:02--> 00:21:16

the child dies. This couple is more sad than the first couple. first couple is sad because there are no children. Second couple is sad because they're the child, but the child died at the age of 16. We have a third couple

00:21:19--> 00:21:32

who has a son, where the child there, bring the child with love affection, give them all love care, all the luxuries of the world, it becomes 20 years 30 years when he becomes a adult, he starts disrespecting the parents,

00:21:33--> 00:21:49

he starts disobeying the parents, he does not take care of the parents. He treats the parent with harsh does the third parent, the turmoil for the third parent, the pain for the third parent is much more than the first and the second.

00:21:53--> 00:21:54

Any human being

00:21:55--> 00:22:04

whichever religion he belongs to whatever ideology belongs to, he has to agree that every children should love and respect the parent.

00:22:06--> 00:22:13

Whichever philosophy belongs to it is basic. Why? Because our parent gave us birth. Mother gave us birth.

00:22:15--> 00:22:20

They took care of us when we were kids, when we were infants. They cherished us.

00:22:24--> 00:22:25

And

00:22:28--> 00:22:31

isn't it required that when we have to

00:22:32--> 00:22:51

respect our parent? What about respect to our Creator, Allah subhana wa Taala, who has not only created us, but has also created a parents? Don't you think our Creator requires multiple times more in finite time more respect than our parents? And the answer is yes.

00:22:55--> 00:22:56

Allah says in the Quran

00:22:58--> 00:23:05

in Surah Surah, chapter number 17, verse number 23 and 24 that we have ordained for you that you worship men but Allah,

00:23:06--> 00:23:17

that to be kind to the parents. And if one of them or both of them reach old age, don't say off to them. Don't say a word of contempt.

00:23:18--> 00:23:43

and address them with honor. And load them your wing of humility and pray to the Lord. That bless them as they cherish me in childhood. Yeah, Allah subhanaw taala says that after worshiping Allah subhana wa Taala you have to love and respect your parents. And if any one of the parents or both of them reach old age, you know when a person becomes old, they tend to be a bit bigger.

00:23:45--> 00:23:45

That in

00:23:47--> 00:24:01

the nature changes. They may be a little bit irritating. Your Allah tells you that if one of them or both of them reach old age, don't even say off to them. Don't say a word of contempt.

00:24:03--> 00:24:05

But lower to them your being of humility

00:24:06--> 00:24:07

and address them with honor.

00:24:09--> 00:24:15

And pray to Allah that bless them as they cherish me childhood. So imagine our Creator Allah subhana wa Taala

00:24:17--> 00:24:20

deserves, in finite time more

00:24:21--> 00:24:23

love and respect than our parents.

00:24:26--> 00:24:35

How many times do we human beings? thank our Creator Allah subhanho wa Taala for all the things he has given us.

00:24:37--> 00:24:47

How many times do we thank the house that we live in? That has provided us with the clothes that we wear? How many times do we thank him the food that we eat?

00:24:48--> 00:24:50

How many times do we tangle

00:24:51--> 00:24:52

the water that we drink?

00:24:53--> 00:24:56

If you don't get water for a couple of weeks

00:24:57--> 00:24:59

you'll die. How many of us thank Allah

00:25:00--> 00:25:01

For the water

00:25:03--> 00:25:10

Let me ask this question. From here. How many of us have ever thank Allah for the air we breathe? Please raise your hand.

00:25:12--> 00:25:17

The air that we breathe, how many of you thank Allah Mashallah to people here

00:25:18--> 00:25:22

the air that we breathe for four people one to four four people

00:25:24--> 00:25:24

out of 2000

00:25:28--> 00:25:35

air if we do not get for few minutes for about half an hour you will die. We take it for granted.

00:25:37--> 00:25:38

What did they think about it?

00:25:40--> 00:25:45

If someone pinches your nose and closes your mouth, for few minutes, a half an hour you will die.

00:25:49--> 00:25:50

All these near molars given

00:25:58--> 00:26:08

Allah says in the Quran in surah Ibrahim, chapter number 14 verse number 34 or Amen, if you count the favors of Allah, you will not be able to number them.

00:26:10--> 00:26:13

Man is most unjust and ungrateful.

00:26:15--> 00:26:18

Allah says in Surah Daria chapter number 100, verse number six.

00:26:21--> 00:26:22

In in Sunnah

00:26:24--> 00:26:28

that verily man is most ungrateful to his Lord.

00:26:30--> 00:26:41

Allah has given us so many gifts, multiple 100,000 you cannot count millions. If you start counting, you will not be able to number them in finite

00:26:44--> 00:26:52

but Allah says man is very leave most ungrateful and unjust to his Lord. Yet

00:26:53--> 00:26:57

when you ask for forgiveness, Allah forgives you.

00:26:59--> 00:27:35

When we human beings amount of sin as we do, when we ask for forgiveness, Allah forgives you. Allah says, Allah However, for Rahim and Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful. In Surah Nisa, chapter number four was number 25. Instead of chapter number five was number 74. Answer Egypt number 15 verse number 49. In the Health app number 16 verse 219, in Surah zomer chapter number 39 was number 63. And for the bootstrap number 85 was number 14 wala hoga for Rahim, and Allah is a forgiving, Most Merciful.

00:27:39--> 00:27:46

And a beloved prophet masala Salim said that all the sins that we do in the full day, if you ask for forgiveness in the night, Allah forgives you.

00:27:48--> 00:27:57

All the thing that you do in the night, it may be more than a mountain. You ask for forgiveness in the day and Allah forgive Allah for him. Allah is

00:27:59--> 00:28:01

Forgiving, most gracious.

00:28:05--> 00:28:08

And Allah says in the Quran, that the biggest sin

00:28:09--> 00:28:13

that any human being can do, the corner the owner Kabira number one.

00:28:15--> 00:28:15

It is

00:28:16--> 00:28:28

associating partners with Allah worshiping anyone besides Allah is the biggest thing. Allah says in Surah Nisa, chapter number four was number 48. And four in the search app number four was 116. That

00:28:30--> 00:28:49

if anyone commits should associating partners with Allah, He will not forgive any other sin. If he pleases. He may forgive you. But anyone who associate partner with Allah, he has strayed far away and the other one says he has committed a grievous sin.

00:28:50--> 00:28:56

That means according the Quran, any other sin if you do Allah may forgive you if he pleases.

00:28:57--> 00:29:06

But the sin of schilke associating partners with Allah, if you die the mushrik without asking for forgiveness, you will never be forgiven and the deal

00:29:07--> 00:29:25

is before dying. If you ask for forgiveness, Allah will live in forgive the ship. But if you die as a mushrik, associated partner with Allah worshipping anyone besides our Creator, Allah subhanho wa Taala that sin will never ever been forgiven. It is more than any other sin in the world.

00:29:32--> 00:29:34

V human beings

00:29:35--> 00:29:43

we are one of the best creation of Allah subhanaw taala. Allah says in Surah 18 chapter number 95 verse number four

00:29:45--> 00:29:59

laka calakmul insana fifth, as we were leaving we have created human beings in the best of molds, we human beings, we have been created in the best of molds, we human being Allah subhana wa tada

00:30:00--> 00:30:02

It is one of the best creation because

00:30:04--> 00:30:21

all the creation except the men and the jinn, Allah has given us a free will. All the creation of Allah subhana wa Taala they do not have a free will, but the men and the jinn, they have free will that they can either obey Allah subhana wa Taala or they can disobey

00:30:22--> 00:30:23

the engines.

00:30:24--> 00:30:35

They always obey Allah subhanaw taala they have no choice, but we as human beings. If we follow our last commandments after choices given to us, we become higher than the ages.

00:30:37--> 00:30:40

But if you disobey Bella, then we become like the city.

00:30:43--> 00:30:58

Allah says in the Quran in surah, chapter number 67 verse number two, I love the khaliqul mata Malhotra. It is Allah who has given death and life It is Allah who has created that a life to test which of you is good indeed.

00:31:01--> 00:31:02

Allah the color,

00:31:04--> 00:31:17

the blue ayoko asanoyama Allah, Allah has created that a life to test which of you is good indeed. So this life for the human being is a test for the hereafter.

00:31:24--> 00:31:27

Allah says in the Quran in surah, Anfal chapter number eight, was number 28.

00:31:29--> 00:31:33

That your wealth and your children are a test for you.

00:31:35--> 00:31:40

Allah repeats the message in the last chapter number 65 was number 15. That

00:31:42--> 00:31:46

will add to your wealth and your children are a fitna or a test for you.

00:31:48--> 00:31:54

Allah says in the Quran in surah baqarah chapter number two was the 155 that surely we will test you

00:31:55--> 00:31:57

with fear or hunger,

00:31:58--> 00:32:22

or with loss of goods or lives, or the fruits of which you have toiled, but did but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, alleged telling that surely we will test each and every human being either with fear or hunger, or with loss of lives, your relatives, your children, your parents,

00:32:24--> 00:32:25

or loss of goods,

00:32:26--> 00:32:29

or loss of the fruits that you have earned in your life.

00:32:30--> 00:32:39

And Allah says, Give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, those who have suffered this life is a test for the hereafter.

00:32:40--> 00:33:01

Allah says in the Quran in surah embrun chapter number three was the 185 Cologne, Lufthansa katamon. Every thought shall have a taste of that. And the final recompense will be on the Day of Judgment. And anyone who saves himself from the Hellfire and enters the garden has achieved the objective of this world.

00:33:02--> 00:33:08

For this life is nothing but mere goods and charges of deception.

00:33:09--> 00:33:10

Alleged telling

00:33:12--> 00:33:20

that every fool shall have a taste of that. And the final recumbents the final accountability,

00:33:21--> 00:33:26

robot etc. would be on the Day of Judgment. And on that day,

00:33:27--> 00:33:31

the person who saved from the Hellfire and enters Jenna

00:33:32--> 00:33:37

has achieved the objective of this world has really passed the test of this world.

00:33:38--> 00:33:50

For this world, is nothing but mere goods and chapters of deception. To this world that we're living in Allah says, is nothing but mere goods and cattle of deception. Our main goal

00:33:52--> 00:33:57

is the Hara. And who passes the test. One went is Jenna, and they say from the hellfire.

00:34:06--> 00:34:08

The main objective of this world

00:34:10--> 00:34:11

is to achieve genma

00:34:12--> 00:34:22

Allah says in the Quran in surah held up number 16, verse number 71. That Verily, We give gifts of sustaining to some people more than others.

00:34:24--> 00:34:29

Allah says in Surah Nam chapter number six verse two 165 that we raise some people higher in ranks

00:34:31--> 00:34:33

and test them with the gifts we have given.

00:34:38--> 00:34:50

And as I mentioned earlier, Allah says in Surah chapter eight verse 28, that your wealth and your children are test for you, unless testing you with gifts, unless testing you with the wealth, LS testing with your children.

00:34:53--> 00:34:59

Allah says in Surah, Moon African chap number 63 verse number nine that do not let your wealth

00:35:00--> 00:35:14

Your riches and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. Allah is telling you that the Nehemiah has given you the wealth and your children. Don't let your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:35:20--> 00:35:37

Allah says in the Quran in Surah Al Imran Chapter number three was the 110 condom Cara mattina Filipinas. Only Muslims, he are the best of peoples of all for mankind. Allah has given us Muslims and honor that we are the Haida Ummah, the best of people.

00:35:38--> 00:35:45

Whenever there is honor, it is always followed up with responsibility. There is no honor without responsibility.

00:35:46--> 00:35:52

In an organization, the CEO has got more honor than a manager.

00:35:53--> 00:36:16

A manager has got more honor than a clerk in the same fashion. The CEO, chief executive officer has got more responsibility than a manager. A manager has got more responsibility than a clerk. There is no honor without responsibility. And this was of the Quran also named Ron chapter three was the Mandarin 10 Allah think kuntum Cara mattina

00:36:18--> 00:36:28

Oh, he Muslims, he the best of people's evolved for mankind. He is giving us an honor and Allah is calling us the Kira oma

00:36:30--> 00:36:34

the best of people evil for mankind. Don't you think we have responsibility?

00:36:35--> 00:36:40

The answer is given the same person Allah continues that neurona bill Murphy better known

00:36:41--> 00:37:16

because we enjoy what is good and we forbid what is on and we believe in Allah. Allah is calling us the Kira oma because we are supposed to enjoy what is good and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If we do not enjoy what is good, and if we do not forbid what is wrong, if we don't do Dawa, we aren't fit to be called as Hydra oma. We are unfit to be called as Muslim. It is compulsory that every Muslim when we feed a Muslim who's doing something wrong, he should do a flat, we should correct it. When he meets a non Muslim he should do dava we should call him towards the religion of Allah, Islam. compensator.

00:37:20--> 00:37:45

Allah says in the Quran surah chapter three, verse 104. That lead they arise out of you a band of people, a group of people that enjoined people towards the good and forbidding them from doing wrong. deeds are the ones that shall attain Felicity. You're talking about full time dies, how we are full time doctor full time engineer full time lawyers. How many fulltime dials Do we have, you can count them on your fingertips.

00:37:49--> 00:37:51

The criteria for entering Jannah

00:37:53--> 00:38:05

the criteria for achieving our goal is given in Surah Al Azhar chapter number 103, was number 123, where Allah subhanaw taala says, while us

00:38:06--> 00:38:37

by the token of time, in sanella ficos wearily, man is in Los Enlil Lavina amanu Aminu, solly hottie water, wasabi, wasabi soft except those who have faith, those who have righteous deed those words that people the truth and those words got people to patience and perseverance. Ally Sterling in this tutorial assert that man is in cassara man is in loss, total loss accept those four criteria number one

00:38:40--> 00:38:41

Those were the man

00:38:42--> 00:38:50

number two those are malice all those are righteous deed number three. Those are

00:38:51--> 00:39:00

inviting people to doing Dawa, and Islam and the fourth, but also the subject. Those who enjoy people was patience and perseverance.

00:39:06--> 00:39:33

These are the minimum four criteria according to for Al Azhar for any human me to go to China. If any one of these four are missing. Under normal circumstances you shall not enter Jannah you may be a very good Muslim you may be praying five times a day you may be giving Zakat fasting in the month of Ramadan. But if you don't do that, according to Surah Al Azhar under normal circumstances you shall not go to jail now. If Allah wants to forgive you and put you in jail now that's our last prerogative.

00:39:35--> 00:39:41

But under normal circumstances, all four things are equally important. Eman righteous de

00:39:42--> 00:39:46

dava and whatever so by inviting people to patients and receiving

00:39:49--> 00:39:49

this

00:39:52--> 00:39:56

are the these are the four criteria and Imam Shafi

00:39:57--> 00:39:59

Rahim Allah may Allah have mercy on him. He's

00:40:00--> 00:40:16

said that if this fura alone Surah Al Azhar was revealed, it would have been sufficient for the hedaya for the guidance of humankind means this food is so powerful that only if this surah was revealed from the Quran alone,

00:40:18--> 00:40:29

it would have been sufficient for the guidance of humanity. Any verse of the Quran you pick up, invariably it will fall under the four criterias. Either a man righteous deed

00:40:38--> 00:40:40

a beloved prophet masala Sallam said,

00:40:43--> 00:40:44

number 2517

00:40:45--> 00:40:46

that one of the Sahaba was the Prophet

00:40:48--> 00:40:56

that should I tie my camel and then trust in God, I should I leave my camel and then trust in God The Prophet said, tire camel, and then trust in God.

00:40:57--> 00:41:08

That means we have faith in Allah but that doesn't mean that we leave the camel. We leave the door open and say the robber will not come. You don't do planning and they're alive they you trust in Allah.

00:41:10--> 00:41:12

But tie your camel. camel means

00:41:13--> 00:41:14

you do planning.

00:41:15--> 00:41:16

You do goal setting.

00:41:19--> 00:41:27

Just by saying I have faith in Allah I will not work I sit at home. I will get all the food everything Allah is there. That is not part of Islam.

00:41:30--> 00:41:31

Tustin God, but

00:41:32--> 00:41:34

to the best of your ability.

00:41:36--> 00:41:39

Dustin Allah tie your camel means they should be goal setting.

00:41:41--> 00:41:42

They should be planning

00:41:44--> 00:41:46

and we find various

00:41:49--> 00:41:51

management gurus.

00:41:52--> 00:42:03

We have goal setting and you might have heard of the famous ghost meeting smart FM ELT, you know, Stephen Coe and others I don't agree with many of the points will not go to that.

00:42:04--> 00:42:26

Our goal setting is Islamic I S L A m ic IFLM there are seven points. Number one of our goal setting of a Muslim is number one Islamic it should be as per the guidelines of the glorious Koran and the authentic hadith of masala Salah number one in a goal setting in Islamic AI

00:42:30--> 00:42:39

our goal setting should be as per the guidelines of Allah that the Glorious Quran and the thing that will masala solemn and authentic hadith

00:42:41--> 00:42:43

number two s.

00:42:44--> 00:42:45

It should be specific

00:42:47--> 00:42:51

ones there was a teacher who was teaching archery.

00:42:52--> 00:42:55

And he told his students that aim your arrow

00:42:57--> 00:43:00

Exactly. At the eye of the bird.

00:43:02--> 00:43:18

Then he asks the first student, have you seen all of them said yes, we aim. What do you see? The first who didn't see, the first student said I see the forest. I see the tree. I see the bird sitting on the tree and I see the eye of the word.

00:43:21--> 00:43:52

The teacher as the second student, what do you see? He said I see the tree. I see the bird and I see the eye of the bird. The teacher has the third one What do you see? The third student said I see the bird and the eye of the bird. The teacher as the first student, what do you see? The student said I can only see the eye of the word and the teacher says let the arrow go and the student lets the arrow go and it exactly hits at the eye of the bird.

00:43:54--> 00:43:59

The moral of the story is that your goal setting should be specific.

00:44:01--> 00:44:02

Not vague,

00:44:03--> 00:44:05

yet the target was I have the bird

00:44:09--> 00:44:10

bullseye.

00:44:12--> 00:44:18

Third, lucrative I FL l for lucrative profitable

00:44:21--> 00:44:23

and most of the Muslims know

00:44:24--> 00:44:35

that one of the best ways you can do to Allah subhanaw taala is the bana atina fifth dunya has netofa La Crosse Oh Lord give us the best in this world

00:44:36--> 00:44:40

and in the Akira and favours from the torment of the hellfire.

00:44:41--> 00:44:47

This was his then the Quran in surah baqarah chapter number two verse number 201.

00:44:50--> 00:44:52

Who knows this door who knows this door

00:44:53--> 00:44:54

davian

00:44:55--> 00:44:56

who knows the door open Athena

00:45:00--> 00:45:06

Why you're so lazy? Mashallah almost most of the Muslim no Mashallah

00:45:09--> 00:45:09

you should know this

00:45:12--> 00:45:13

one of the most common

00:45:14--> 00:45:16

Latina oh my lord.

00:45:19--> 00:45:26

Oh my Lord, give me the best in this world and, and save me from the torment of hellfire.

00:45:27--> 00:45:32

Now my simple question to you is Marshall I think 100% knew, and they know that

00:45:33--> 00:45:44

maybe one or two didn't is done, but I'm sure even they know that. Now my simple question to you is, who knows the verse before these two are Surah Baqarah chapter number two was number 200. Raise your hand.

00:45:47--> 00:45:57

Who knows the verse before the dua, Robin Athena Surah Baqarah chapter two verse 201. Who knows to repack law chapter number two verse number 200. Raise your hand,

00:45:58--> 00:45:59

not a single

00:46:00--> 00:46:06

if you know chapter two, verse number 200, your 201 will be better

00:46:09--> 00:46:21

Mashallah, all of us know, the banana Tina. But unfortunately, hardly very few know the verse before, because if you know the verse before, you will know the value of this.

00:46:22--> 00:46:34

Verse one was before a monotonous Surah Baqarah chapter number two was number 200 faith. There are those people who say, oh, Lord, give me the best in this world.

00:46:35--> 00:46:40

Allah replies, Allah will give him the best of the world, but will not give our Hara.

00:46:41--> 00:47:01

Then Allah continues and say, there are those people who say Robin Athena cydonia has not to give us the best in this world. And in the Hereafter, and favor from the torment of hellfire. That means Allah says, If you ask this dunya Allah will give you the dunya but will not give you a Hara. That dua is useless.

00:47:02--> 00:47:04

But there are good people like as Masha Allah,

00:47:05--> 00:47:19

we set up an Athena fit dunya Oh Lord, give us the best in this world and the Hara. And save us from the torment of the hellfire. Now when you know the previous verse, which of the two is more important than your Hara?

00:47:22--> 00:47:23

Which is more important,

00:47:25--> 00:47:27

not which is important, which is more important.

00:47:29--> 00:47:40

Allah says in Surah, chapter number 11, that if you if you ask this dunya I will give you the dunya but will not give you a chapter 11 verse 1415. Next verse says that if you ask for

00:47:42--> 00:47:43

dunya also

00:47:44--> 00:47:49

for those who ask only for Kira, I will give you this also

00:47:50--> 00:47:52

to between the two which is more important

00:47:54--> 00:47:56

for this unit also, but more important is

00:47:58--> 00:48:03

more often what we ask Allah give me the give me a degree, give me they give me so much money.

00:48:04--> 00:48:05

All these things We ask Allah.

00:48:06--> 00:48:14

You can ask, it is allowed. It's not Haram. You can even ask for a shoelace to Allah. No problem. It's permitted.

00:48:15--> 00:48:16

But the best is,

00:48:17--> 00:48:21

if you Asakura Allah will give you the dunya also.

00:48:27--> 00:48:28

And here we find

00:48:33--> 00:48:33

that

00:48:35--> 00:48:47

when you ask me Allah subhanho wa Taala The best is to ask, you can also ask for dunya The best thing you can ask for both no problem. The good in this world as well as the Akira

00:48:50--> 00:48:51

and

00:48:54--> 00:48:56

a beloved padmasana Sallam said

00:49:00--> 00:49:05

that our goal setting l come to lucrative profitable

00:49:06--> 00:49:08

in dunya and akhira both

00:49:10--> 00:49:16

so goal setting is L third goal is lucrative profitability for this a

00:49:18--> 00:49:18

appropriate

00:49:19--> 00:49:21

app achievable.

00:49:24--> 00:49:29

But whatever you're asking for, it should be within the purview of Quran and Sunnah.

00:49:31--> 00:49:32

measurable?

00:49:34--> 00:49:34

Can you measure

00:49:36--> 00:49:38

the goal you're asking for?

00:49:39--> 00:49:39

Then you measure it.

00:49:41--> 00:49:41

For example,

00:49:43--> 00:49:53

if you want to make the tallest building in the world, is it measurable? If today is the tallest building in the world is Butch halifa in Dubai? Previously it was PETRONAS

00:49:54--> 00:49:55

many years back.

00:49:56--> 00:49:59

Today yet it is the tallest Twin Tower but not the tallest building.

00:50:00--> 00:50:09

So we know bush Khalifa is 824 meters tall. So if you want to make a taller building than that you have to make a building taller than 824 meters it's measurable

00:50:13--> 00:50:19

intention the goal you're setting, the intention should only be to please Allah,

00:50:21--> 00:50:28

our Creator and follow the guidelines of who masala Salah intention should be only to please Allah alone and nothing else.

00:50:30--> 00:50:32

If your intention is

00:50:34--> 00:50:37

to please your family members, to please the people

00:50:39--> 00:50:49

then that is not Islamic goal setting. Your main goal should be to please Allah and while pleasing Allah if you're pleasing other people no problem number one should be to please Allah.

00:50:50--> 00:50:54

The last is see consistent, whatever you do,

00:50:55--> 00:50:56

do consistently.

00:50:58--> 00:51:20

For example, you say I want to complete reading of the Quran good. You want to read Quran every day. So make a target. I want to read every day when Jews or I want to read the Quran every day half Jews or maybe quarter just five pages, no problem but be consistent. Our beloved prophet masala Salam said, Allah loves those things which are done consistently, even if it's more

00:51:21--> 00:51:34

with things which are done consistently our beloved Prophet Musa, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, those things, then you do one time and even a great deal. The things which are done consistently, even if it is small is beloved to Allah.

00:51:35--> 00:51:36

consistency.

00:51:37--> 00:51:41

But this is the goal setting of a Muslim, Islamic.

00:51:42--> 00:51:46

Now let me give you an example, which is very often

00:51:47--> 00:51:48

given by many management gurus.

00:51:50--> 00:51:55

And some of you may have heard, most of you may not have heard the name of the lady

00:51:57--> 00:51:58

Wilma Rudolph,

00:52:00--> 00:52:05

Wilma Rudolph, she was born, her legs are paralyzed because of polio.

00:52:07--> 00:52:14

And from childhood, she had polio, the doctor said that she would never be able to set foot on the earth.

00:52:15--> 00:52:16

Her mother

00:52:17--> 00:52:18

was

00:52:19--> 00:52:22

a lady of strong willpower. She told her daughter Wilma.

00:52:24--> 00:52:28

You think what do you want to do? You dream? What do you want to do and you will be able to do it.

00:52:30--> 00:52:45

So Wilma said I want to become the fastest woman on the face of the earth. Imagine a girl who has polio, who can put her feet on the ground. She dreams to become the fastest woman

00:52:46--> 00:52:50

on the face of the earth. At the age of nine, she gives away braces

00:52:53--> 00:52:58

and the age of 13. She takes part in a running race and comes out last.

00:53:00--> 00:53:02

But she was consistent.

00:53:03--> 00:53:31

So much for that in the year 1960. In Olympics, she gets three gold medal, gold medal for woman, 100 meters, gold medal for woman 200 meters, and gold medal for foreign 200 meter relay. And you can go on the net and Google her name Wilma Rudolph, and you'll get she was the first woman on the face of the earth in 1960, who was paralyzed at polio, and she become the fastest woman on the face of the earth.

00:53:34--> 00:53:42

Now this example is given memory management gurus. And as I mentioned management guru, their goal setting is smart. As ma RT.

00:53:46--> 00:53:50

Vilma had a specific goal she wanted to become the fastest woman in the world.

00:53:51--> 00:54:04

And measurable Can she measure? Yes, the fastest. Remember that time maybe 10 seconds, nine seconds or maybe between nine and 11 second measurable share to do a timing of better than 10 or nine seconds. Possible. measurable?

00:54:06--> 00:54:08

achievable. She thought Yes, she can.

00:54:11--> 00:54:12

realistic.

00:54:13--> 00:54:31

She thought Yes, time time bound if she has to do it, you know, in the teens or the 20s if she becomes tall then she cannot be the fastest woman. This is a SMART goal. Let us check what was Bill Maher's goal as quick as compared to Islamic goal setting Islamic goal setting number one is

00:54:32--> 00:54:33

that is

00:54:34--> 00:54:38

Islamic the guidelines of Quran and

00:54:39--> 00:54:40

I doubt whether

00:54:42--> 00:54:45

it was as per the Quran

00:54:49--> 00:54:49

especially

00:54:51--> 00:54:52

Do you want to become the fastest,

00:54:55--> 00:54:59

profitable, profitable, fastest woman in the world. She gets up

00:55:00--> 00:55:03

She got three gold medal fame in this world.

00:55:10--> 00:55:12

So islamically while she may have benefited,

00:55:14--> 00:55:14

no

00:55:19--> 00:55:20

appropriate

00:55:21--> 00:55:23

achievable Yes, she thought she could.

00:55:25--> 00:55:29

And measurable Yes, she can measure the time less than 10 seconds or nine seconds.

00:55:30--> 00:55:35

intention, intention should be followed, I doubt whether the intention was followed

00:55:37--> 00:55:43

sequence consistently she was consistent till she became the fastest woman. So some things benefiting overall

00:55:44--> 00:56:00

in the Schlumberger setting, not successful, but given examples by most of the management gurus, Bill Maher was to type on the Google, you will get the reply. But if you compare with Islamic goal setting, unfortunately, in this world, possible akhira

00:56:03--> 00:56:21

Allah says in Surah, Chapter 385, that kulu Nussenzweig, every soul shall have a taste of the final decomposition on the Day of Judgment. And the person who's famed from the Hellfire and enters Jana has achieved the objective of this life.

00:56:23--> 00:56:25

I doubt whether Wilma would have achieved the objective of this life.

00:56:26--> 00:56:31

Maybe her name is gone the internet. But whether is David angels in Genoa

00:56:33--> 00:56:33

alone.

00:56:34--> 00:56:36

Let me give you another example

00:56:37--> 00:56:49

of a man this small means the person who changed my life, who changed me from a doctor of a body to doctor of a soul. And that is our late shamatha.

00:56:51--> 00:56:52

And if you know his life history,

00:56:54--> 00:57:02

he was born in Sudan, in the village Turkish over in India, at a very young age, maybe at the age of six, he migrates to South Africa,

00:57:04--> 00:57:27

coming from a very poor background, poor family, so much so that he had to leave school at the age of six, to earn his living. And it becomes a salesman. And in South Africa, he used to sell furniture, and also driving the car, driving the van. And very often when he used to go to work, the Christian missionaries used to come

00:57:28--> 00:57:29

and hammer in

00:57:30--> 00:57:39

these two poles verses of the Quran, attacking Islam and saying how come you are a Muslim? What reply do you have for this verse of the Quran and he could not apply?

00:57:40--> 00:57:43

Imagine a person who's only passed 106.

00:57:44--> 00:57:50

His goal at that time was to reply to these Christian missionaries who are attacking Islam.

00:57:51--> 00:57:56

But Allah of grace, he comes across a very old book filled with dust.

00:57:57--> 00:57:58

by the name of

00:57:59--> 00:58:02

the truth revealed by Milan amatola runway,

00:58:04--> 00:58:09

which has the reply to many of these allegations, Christian missionaries do. He read the book and he started his mission.

00:58:11--> 00:58:14

So much so that after 40 years

00:58:16--> 00:58:22

shake the that alone was sufficient for the full Christianity who were attacking Islam.

00:58:23--> 00:58:32

Alone single handedly, six standard paths. They have Institute in humor in Institute only studying how does that give lectures

00:58:33--> 00:58:45

alone single handedly at a time when Muslims were hammered? We were used as doormats. When Christian missionaries came at the Muslim door, they used the Quran to attack us and we didn't answer.

00:58:47--> 00:58:51

This person have small means check empathy that only 600 Pass.

00:58:53--> 00:58:55

His mission was to reply to the Christian missionary

00:58:57--> 00:59:03

in the 1980s 70s 80s became famous.

00:59:04--> 00:59:14

And before he had the debate with Reverend Jimmy Swaggart, at that time in the mid 80s. Reverend Jimmy Swaggart was number one missionary in the world.

00:59:16--> 00:59:17

Christian missionary in the world.

00:59:18--> 00:59:49

before having the debate with Reverend Jimmy's forget in USA. He goes to Pakistan for lecture to war, and one of his fans tells him that I'm your fan. But my advice to you is, I'm warning you don't have a debate with Jimmy's forget the eloquence that he has in his speech. Jimmy forgot he could muster as people. He told me that I be a fan, but if you have debate with Jimmy Swaggart, he will chew you up and spit you out. Who's telling me that this fan

00:59:51--> 00:59:54

Jimmy cigarette was one of the best orators of the world.

00:59:56--> 00:59:59

He had a budget of $400 million a year.

01:00:00--> 01:00:06

His daily expenditure was more than a million dollar to keep his head above water. $400 million.

01:00:08--> 01:00:21

That is more than 600 million drink it every day more than 4 million drink it and Bay high don't have any organization Muslim organs in the world, which even has 10% budget of this.

01:00:27--> 01:00:36

And she did that with Allah help the goals and have the debate with Jimmy Swaggart, and we know the outcome in 1984. Mashallah.

01:00:38--> 01:00:48

Alhamdulillah the topic of the debate was this the Bible, God's word, and Alhamdulillah It was a thumping success. For our Buddha chick, I'ma do that.

01:00:50--> 01:00:51

So much so that

01:00:52--> 01:00:54

in 1986,

01:00:55--> 01:01:03

he gets the highest Islamic award of the world, King Faisal prize for service of Islam. Imagine a sixth standard pass.

01:01:05--> 01:01:14

King Faisal International Prize for service of Islam is the highest Islamic award in the world is equivalent to the Nobel Prize of the world.

01:01:16--> 01:01:22

Any Islamic personality if you want to get the highest award, it is King Faisal award. He didn't he didn't want to get it.

01:01:23--> 01:01:36

He did for the sake of Allah he got the highest award in the world. Now let us see the goal setting. We compared the goal setting of Wilma Rudolph with Islamic goal setting. Let's compare shake Emma de de samygo setting number one I

01:01:38--> 01:01:44

Islamic was it for the sake of Allah and His rule was that according to the guidelines of Quran and Hadith, and unsaved, yes.

01:01:46--> 01:01:57

Specific, was his goal setting specific Yes, it was very specific. His main purpose only was to reply to the allegations of the Christian missionaries against Islam, give a fitting reply

01:01:59--> 01:02:02

to the attacks done by the Christian missionary against Islam against Quran.

01:02:03--> 01:02:07

It was specific, lucrative wasn't lucrative. He did.

01:02:08--> 01:02:12

He did Allah. Allah gave him the highest award in this world The King Faisal price

01:02:15--> 01:02:18

profitable did Allah give him

01:02:20--> 01:02:23

he was it was it appropriate hamdulillah

01:02:25--> 01:02:35

missionary measurable, measurable. This thing was whatever attacks they made, whether it was 1020 100,000 he wanted to reply to all and he did it.

01:02:37--> 01:02:39

intention, his intention was mainly to

01:02:41--> 01:02:42

his intention wasn't to get fit.

01:02:43--> 01:02:45

You wanted to please Allah

01:02:46--> 01:02:48

and Allah subhanho wa Taala gave him famous one this one.

01:02:49--> 01:02:56

See, was he consistent? Yes. With small means he was consistently did for 40 years.

01:02:57--> 01:03:02

And Allah gave him success. So when you compare the goal setting of Wilma Rudolph

01:03:04--> 01:03:07

and shake Emma D that there is a difference of chalk and cheese.

01:03:10--> 01:03:12

The difference of chalk and cheese

01:03:13--> 01:03:20

shake Emma D does goal setting was Islamic. Wilmers, goal setting was smart, like the management gurus.

01:03:21--> 01:03:23

Smart, okay for this world, maybe, but not.

01:03:28--> 01:03:34

So all of us should realize that our goal setting should be on Islamic the acronym is Islamic guidelines.

01:03:37--> 01:03:39

You know, most of us most of the human beings

01:03:40--> 01:03:44

we plan how to earn a living, but we do not plan how to live.

01:03:47--> 01:04:10

Let me repeat that. Most of us human being we plan how to earn a living. We do not plan how to live and based on the earnings that we do. We have our lifestyle, depending on how much we earn that type of house we have that type of flows via the type of car we keep, how much we earn that type of education we give to our children.

01:04:12--> 01:04:29

As the main goal of life is earning a living and based on the earning the lead the lifestyle most most of us are very happy. Okay, I'm earning for maturing it. By 10,000 Indian I'm having a lifestyle and they're very happy. It's like shooting,

01:04:30--> 01:04:42

shooting an arrow and drawing the bull's eye around it. You should There you are. And then you start living according to your needs. So you shoot once you shoot anywhere blindly, then you draw the bullseye around it.

01:04:46--> 01:04:47

Most of us

01:04:48--> 01:04:59

we plan to earn the living but we don't plan on living. The rider to do it today is that we should plan on living in what we earn infrastructure.

01:05:00--> 01:05:02

About what we earn this is how we plan on living.

01:05:03--> 01:05:06

If you plan according to the lifestyle of vamos a la Salaam,

01:05:09--> 01:05:12

the need was so small, the requirement was so less

01:05:15--> 01:05:18

that irrespective of what you earn you will be happy.

01:05:21--> 01:05:31

Most of us human beings, our life are centered around something or the other. Some of us we are self centered, self centered means everything selfish.

01:05:33--> 01:05:48

am only bothered about myself I'm not bothered about others self centered. A Beloved Prophet masala Sallam said mentioned SIBO highly volume number one and Hadith number 13. That he is not a true believer until he wishes for his brother, the same thing what he wishes for himself

01:05:49--> 01:05:57

that made a true Muslim, a true moment will wish for his better the same thing will wish for himself. That means you cannot be self centered.

01:05:58--> 01:06:20

Some of us we are family centered. We want to please our family. Our main goal in life is to please our family, and to please our family, we will change our values, we will change our model we will do anything as long as we please our family. Some of us want to please our parents, then do anything for the parents.

01:06:22--> 01:06:22

It is good

01:06:24--> 01:07:06

to please your parents. And I give the verse of the Quran of Surah Surah chapter 17 verse 2324, talking about the respect to parents, but Allah subhanaw taala also says in chapter number 31, verse number 14, that we have enjoined the human beings to be kind to the parents, in travel upon travels with the mother boo and India's twin was revealing their lifestyle in respect to a parent, especially your mother. And she gave you birth, and for two years she gave you winning, praising, praising immediately next was Surah lukeman, Chapter 31, verse number 15. But if your parents strive and struggle to jihad, strive and struggle to make you worship somebody else besides Allah, then do

01:07:06--> 01:07:13

not obey them. But live with them with love and companionship. That means if your parents tell you to do something against Allah, and

01:07:14--> 01:07:32

at that time you don't obey them, you love them, you respect them, okay? But if they go against Allah and His rule, do not obey them, but yet, live with them with love and companionship. So these are guidelines, you can be parent centered to limit not more than a lion is.

01:07:35--> 01:07:42

a beloved partner masala Sallam said a believer is not a true believer unless he loves the fool more than any condition in this world.

01:07:44--> 01:07:51

Unless you don't love Allah and more than yourself more than your parents more than your brother more than a children you cannot be a true Muslim.

01:07:52--> 01:07:58

Your limits are there you can be you cannot be parent centered completely taking your parents

01:07:59--> 01:08:08

and sometimes the parent is getting with a slamming Oh my daughter don't have a job, okay? And parents don't have a job. Okay, my son, don't pay salaries don't pay Salah.

01:08:09--> 01:08:12

Love them, respect them. limit.

01:08:13--> 01:08:16

If they go into teaching the Quran and say God,

01:08:17--> 01:08:19

love them, but don't obey them.

01:08:21--> 01:08:33

Some people, they are by center of call center, I will do anything for my wife. If my wife wants a diamond necklace, I can't afford it. I will beg borrow steal, but give her the diamond necklace.

01:08:36--> 01:08:36

Life Center.

01:08:39--> 01:08:42

loving your wife is good, but not to the extent of doing things which are

01:08:43--> 01:08:45

silly. Some people are children centered.

01:08:46--> 01:08:53

They want to please their children. And many a time your son will tell

01:08:54--> 01:09:12

other I want to go to America first. And you know the course in America will not get him any benefit. But yet what do you do? You beg borrow steal, to take loan, you keep your house on mortgage and get money and you send them to America for a course which will not make any benefit. And then you say my son is studying in America USA.

01:09:17--> 01:09:18

In Indonesia, both gone.

01:09:21--> 01:09:26

Children centered everything his children are very proud. My son is starting in America.

01:09:33--> 01:09:34

These are talking about

01:09:35--> 01:09:36

family centered.

01:09:38--> 01:09:43

You have some people who are society centered. They're more bothered about the society around them

01:09:46--> 01:09:52

around what do they think about him? They want to make the society think that I'm a very good person. So the society center.

01:09:53--> 01:09:57

Some people are bothered about the neighbor. And let me give you an anecdote

01:09:58--> 01:09:59

about how people and neighbors and

01:10:01--> 01:10:03

Once an angel comes and asks

01:10:05--> 01:10:11

a man whatever you ask I will give you but I will give you the bill to your neighbor

01:10:12--> 01:10:26

man is very happy okay whatever ask engine will give him when you say what you want so the man says give me an expensive Rolex watch the engine give the man will export to his neighbor he gets to Rolex watch

01:10:28--> 01:10:35

then he says give me a Rolls Royce car to the engine give them a Rolls Royce but gives the neighbor two Rolls Royce I get one

01:10:37--> 01:10:53

then he says give me a very big Villa with Intel give them one Villa and give the neighbor to Villa man whose neighbor centered he said What is this? What I'm getting getting double precision okay Angel fulfill my last wish, what is it? Please, please,

01:10:55--> 01:10:58

please break my one eye so that I cannot see with that

01:11:04--> 01:11:31

is the angel fulfill my last wish? Break my one I saw that I cannot see that one. I know many people cannot see that the neighbor a flourishing they don't mind what's happening. Whether they are good or bad. They want to be better than the neighbor. So when you get one watch, the neighbor gets to watch when you get one rolls Viacom neighbor gets to Rosica he gets a big Villa neighbor gets to villa. So now to defeat the neighbor. He's telling you break my one eye so the neighbor both as I would be broken

01:11:34--> 01:11:34

layperson

01:11:38--> 01:11:49

you know, suppose someone you say okay, fine, you will come second in the race in the full world. And they will come first very good. Is it? No, no, I don't mind coming second last as long as my neighbor come last in the world.

01:11:50--> 01:12:01

Imagine the difference between second last and second. He would prefer coming second last in the world. And the neighbor coming last rather than coming second in the world and neighbor coming first, which is better.

01:12:04--> 01:12:19

Coming second in the world. And neighbor coming first is better than second last but the neighbor centered manual said no. I don't want second in the world. out of seven and a half billion people or prefer me second last. As long as my neighbor comes last. This is neighbor centered people.

01:12:21--> 01:12:25

Society center. Some people our friend centered, they want to please different

01:12:26--> 01:12:47

as long as the friends they will do anything to make the friends. Some people are enemy centered. They keep on thinking how is the enemy planning about me? How is he trying to attack me? So I'll defend myself? How is he criticizing me? So I'll give the reply. The full life is revolving around what is the enemy thinking about him? enemies and

01:12:48--> 01:12:55

these people our society center for life they spend in trying to make the society happy. Are they becoming better in society?

01:12:57--> 01:13:01

We have another category of people who a material center.

01:13:03--> 01:13:04

They are materialistic.

01:13:07--> 01:13:12

And those who are materialistic rich people. They normally discuss things about materials.

01:13:14--> 01:13:23

For example, in the meat, they say oh, I have a tiger watch. Oh yeah, we go watch Rolex, or Patek Phillipe.

01:13:26--> 01:13:35

What type of bezel do you have? What is the dial? Is it a limited edition? Is it gold plated? Is it Platinum plated? Is the diamond studded

01:13:36--> 01:13:56

So people don't see the same watch the full life is planned and

01:13:58--> 01:14:03

how to wear the watch or when to wear what and they are very happy they are material centered.

01:14:04--> 01:14:16

When you go on a high level people are discussing about cars I've got a BMW car I've got Mercedes car I've got my back rolls right if it's sports model than Ferrari, Lamborghini mirak

01:14:17--> 01:14:20

Bugatti nobody who knows karate

01:14:22--> 01:14:26

Oh my shall all sports loving people who would like to own a Bugatti

01:14:58--> 01:14:59

Is it going to the Airbus

01:15:01--> 01:15:05

There is no end to it. There is no limit to it.

01:15:08--> 01:15:17

As far as materialism is concerned, you can categorize in four different categories that they get even people who can't afford it yet they

01:15:18--> 01:15:23

buy, buy, beg, borrow, steal, taking loan. This is haram is rough.

01:15:24--> 01:15:33

Allah says in the Quran in Surah Surah chapter 17 verse number 2527, that do not be a spendthrift for villages. The spendthrift is the brother of the devil,

01:15:34--> 01:15:38

your second Guardian you can afford it, but they are dependent on that.

01:15:39--> 01:15:58

I cannot leave without having members city that people won't recognize because they recognize the mother is not him. So when he goes with almost no one will give him respect. There's so much conscious that if I do not go into a big luxury car, people won't respect me. Then dependent on those luxury. This is also her

01:15:59--> 01:16:08

third category, he can afford it, but he's not dependent. It is mobile optional, but it is dangerous. It's kowtow to shaytan it can lead you towards mcru. And

01:16:10--> 01:16:23

the highest category is the person who can afford it, and yet does not have the example of profit muscle salon. He could have the luxury of the world, he could have had the wealth of the world as a footstep.

01:16:24--> 01:16:26

He did not. That is the highest level.

01:16:28--> 01:16:34

And a beloved prophet who was Allah Salam said it sadly since I Buhari number eight, number 6384.

01:16:35--> 01:16:50

That Allah says, if he gives a value of gold to man, he would desire for a second. If he give him the second value of gold, he would desire for the third for only a handful of dust is required.

01:16:51--> 01:16:52

For the belly of the human being.

01:16:54--> 01:16:57

You know, no one in the world owns the value of gold even Bill Gates doesn't own.

01:16:59--> 01:17:15

A Beloved Prophet masala Salim said Allah says if he gives a value of gold, the person would want a second one. If I like if the second one he would want the third one, a man will never get satisfied. materialistic a man can never get satisfied it will keep on wanting more and more. There is no limit.

01:17:19--> 01:17:23

Some people are fame centered. I want to be famous.

01:17:24--> 01:17:34

from people have power centered around to be powerful manager, General Manager to minister our center. Some people are pleasure center around to get pleasure That's it, nothing else in life.

01:17:35--> 01:17:36

Some people

01:17:39--> 01:17:41

they are workaholic, workaholic, they want to work.

01:17:43--> 01:17:45

All these different categories of people

01:17:47--> 01:17:48

are not the right type.

01:17:49--> 01:17:53

The best center is the center. The best center is Allah center.

01:17:56--> 01:18:33

And when you speak about Allah centered, it doesn't mean you're neglecting other things. Allah center includes everything in the right proportion, following the goals of Islamic when you're Allah centered doesn't mean that you're selfless, that we don't take care of yourself. The body of homosassa didn't say body volume 300 number 1975. The Prophet told Abdullah, that I've heard that you fast every day, and that you pray the full night. He said jasola Yes, oh prophet of Allah. The Prophet told him fast one day, do not fast the other,

01:18:34--> 01:18:49

pray some part of the night, sleep the other part of the night, your body has right over you. Your wife has right over you. Your guests have arrived over you. That means, yes, you should take care of you cannot say that I am selfless completely.

01:18:52--> 01:19:00

Fast, don't fast. Play some part of the night shift. Because your body as I told you, that means you should take care of your body.

01:19:01--> 01:19:07

You should take care of yourself. Don't be self centered, but take care of yourself. Take care of your wife. Take care of your guests.

01:19:11--> 01:19:14

A beloved promise Allah Salam said, say, number

01:19:15--> 01:19:21

7396. The best believer is that who's the best to suddenly taking care of your family.

01:19:23--> 01:19:29

Not that they have to be parents centered that to tell you to go against Allah and take care of your parents. You have to

01:19:31--> 01:19:36

take care of your wife, the best believers that was the best to his life.

01:19:40--> 01:19:44

The most happy person the Beloved Prophet said is the one who has a good wife.

01:19:47--> 01:19:59

That means when you are Law Center, you should take care of your parents. Take care of your wife, love your wife. Take care of your children. Children are a test for you. Take care of a neighbor in Fremont chapter seven. That take care of

01:20:00--> 01:20:00

neighbor

01:20:01--> 01:20:09

and happy person is that who also has a good neighbor? It is including everything Allah centered.

01:20:10--> 01:20:12

Have good friends who will take you close to Allah and

01:20:16--> 01:20:17

talking about society.

01:20:20--> 01:20:22

material things spend in the way of Allah.

01:20:24--> 01:20:59

Allah centered, it is the best. And the best example of a human being who's the best Allah centered is the last and final messenger vamos a la sala, a beloved Prophet homosassa Allah. Allah says in the Quran surah chapter 21 verse 107, Mama at Sun La ilaha illa Allah means that we have tended not but at the mercy to all the words at the mercy to all the creatures at the mercy to all the human beings and not only the respected by the Muslims, even the non Muslims agree, and you can give a talk on what the non Muslims speak about masala Salam.

01:21:00--> 01:21:03

And we know if you read the writings of lamartine

01:21:04--> 01:21:08

was the famous French historian who wrote on the history of the Turks.

01:21:09--> 01:21:13

And he writes, that if smallness of means

01:21:14--> 01:21:18

smallness of Miss, greatness of purpose,

01:21:19--> 01:21:25

and astounding results are the three criteria to judge a human being, there is no one who can come close to profit.

01:21:27--> 01:22:07

Small list of mean would mean that you have the greatness of purpose, changing all of humanity and astounding results. The maximum the most famous person in the world is masala Salah lamattina non Muslim says there is no human being who can come close to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. If you read the book, The 100 most influential people in the world by Michael H. Hart, a non Muslim, he gives examples and in his list of under dimensions what is total about Africa, about Christ about Buddha about Confucius about arrestor and number one he places his Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. He says many would be surprised at my choice. many would argue with me at my decision. But

01:22:07--> 01:22:16

there is no man who's closed and successful. There is no man who has been so successful in the religious and secular life as Prophet Muhammad peace be awarded.

01:22:17--> 01:22:22

George Bernard Shaw he writes that I studied this man Muhammad more

01:22:24--> 01:22:28

more than he been called an antichrist. I would say He is the Savior for humanity.

01:22:30--> 01:22:35

If you read the book by Thomas Carlyle, hero and hero worship, he writes an essay on

01:22:36--> 01:22:46

hero as the prophet and he doesn't choose David Moses, Jesus peace be upon him. He chose his mum masala Salama, the zero prophet.

01:22:47--> 01:22:57

And the list can go on. Allah says clearly insert a column check number 68 verse number four, that very early in the Prophet you will find a sublime

01:22:58--> 01:23:01

and exalted character. Allah says in Surah

01:23:03--> 01:23:12

as up and so resumo chapter number 33 was number 21. That whether in the Prophet you will find the most beautiful pattern of conduct.

01:23:14--> 01:23:20

Here's the best example. We have several example Islamic history. We have the example of the machine

01:23:22--> 01:23:23

I will walk arrested the

01:23:26--> 01:23:42

Malawi president Omar Al Khattab, mela bit visit him in a fun may Allah be pleased with him. How does Allah Allah be pleased with him the focal ferocity Dasha machinery besides the machine, we have the other six Savas

01:23:44--> 01:23:54

after boubakeur study, among others, this man has a dilemma. You have the Sava, the six hour batalha, you have debate? You have

01:23:56--> 01:23:57

the amendment of

01:23:58--> 01:24:03

the Assad notice. You have said Minh said, you have a Buddha?

01:24:05--> 01:24:20

Buddha Jarrah, may Allah be pleased with them all. These 10 Asha mobile children if you see the lifestyle, then example for the Muslims. You have the example of the field of the fourth grade woman. Allah says in Surah embrun chapter three, verse 42,

01:24:22--> 01:24:26

Allah says was kalamalka to mariemont. Behold, the Indian said of Mary in Allah,

01:24:29--> 01:24:36

that Allah has chosen D and purified D and chosen the above domain of all nation, LS calling Mother Mary.

01:24:38--> 01:24:59

May Allah be pleased with her as the woman above all nation. Allah talks about the wife of the Prophet insert Irene chapter number six, six verse number 11, that she prays to Allah that I want to mention close to Allah in Jana, and save me from Pharaoh. That means she's asking In exchange, she was the wife of the most powerful man in the world, the pharaoh

01:25:00--> 01:25:08

The most wealthiest man she prays to ally want a house, a mansion in Jana close to you, in exchange for the wealth and the power of the world.

01:25:10--> 01:25:17

You have the example wife of the Prophet Khadija mela, you have the example of Fatima, the daughter of masala salam, the example of

01:25:18--> 01:25:21

eyeshadow Anna, say every woman

01:25:22--> 01:25:31

all these examples for us, if you see the lifestyle, and you see the goal setting in the lifestyle, they are exemplary.

01:25:34--> 01:25:37

And we pray to Allah subhanho wa Taala that may

01:25:38--> 01:25:48

make us close to these exemplary people. These are our heroes. These are our heroes. Not what do you see in the film industry? These are artificial.

01:25:50--> 01:25:51

And before I end my talk,

01:25:52--> 01:25:53

I like to ask you a question.

01:25:56--> 01:26:00

That whenever I think interview of parents when they get admission into a school,

01:26:01--> 01:26:06

ask them the question and ask me that question to yours. When you want to bring your children

01:26:07--> 01:26:23

when you want to bring your children when islamically When is the latest that you think about the future? latest? Not earliest? When is the latest? Will you think oh this is the time that I have to think about the future of my child well.

01:26:26--> 01:26:29

What age when? Can anyone just literally stand on the earliest?

01:26:31--> 01:26:31

When

01:26:34--> 01:26:36

when you want to bring your child when with the latest you think

01:26:39--> 01:26:39

when

01:26:41--> 01:26:42

don't think at all,

01:26:43--> 01:26:44

when they die?

01:26:45--> 01:26:46

When will you think the latest?

01:26:48--> 01:26:57

any answers? About when you want to think about the future of your child? When is the latest you will think islamically Okay, this is the last time as to

01:27:02--> 01:27:02

when

01:27:07--> 01:27:08

you don't want to think about your children.

01:27:10--> 01:27:11

When

01:27:12--> 01:27:14

when you put them in university.

01:27:19--> 01:27:22

after they finish their studies, you think about the future. Can anyone improve on that?

01:27:25--> 01:27:28

after they finish their studies, you'll think about the future of the child.

01:27:29--> 01:27:30

When

01:27:34--> 01:27:39

amongst the ladies, among the sisters, when would you want to think about the future of our children

01:27:41--> 01:27:43

when they passed the university before they passed the university?

01:27:50--> 01:27:51

Yes, Anyone?

01:27:54--> 01:27:54

Anyone.

01:27:56--> 01:28:19

Sometimes that when they pass the university, some say before they enter the university. Some say that before they pass their standard 10 before they finish the school, some say when we want to admit them in school. That's the latest we have to think about the future. One person told me before I give this lecture after I gave the lecture many people have heard on the net.

01:28:21--> 01:28:33

They told me when the when my child is born, that is the time I'll think of his future. The right Islamic answer is the latest you think about the bringing of children is when you choose your life partner.

01:28:35--> 01:28:39

When you choose your life partner is the time that latest we have to think

01:28:41--> 01:28:44

because the mother of this child is the best teacher.

01:28:46--> 01:28:52

If you want your child to be Islamic, the news to the Islamic life partner. If you want them to be an actor, then you will try and marry an actor.

01:28:55--> 01:29:00

The latest you have to think you can think earlier. The latest is when you choose your life partner.

01:29:02--> 01:29:14

They have to plan about the children with school after that, because when you marry that time you know what type of children you want to bring if the tuning of you and your wife are the same.

01:29:15--> 01:29:34

You know, Allah says in the Quran, that the woman are masana there are they are a fortress against the devil for you. For the men, the woman is a masana a fortress against the devil, they will keep you against away from the evil thing they will keep your children away from the evil thing if they are a true Muslim.

01:29:36--> 01:29:44

And you have to see to it that to give them a good education. Put them in a school which has education for both the world for the mangonia both not only do

01:29:48--> 01:29:57

they have good friends see that the joint good Islamic organization. She took that they have good companions see to see to it that they have got good role models.

01:29:58--> 01:29:59

All this is very important for NGOs.

01:30:00--> 01:30:17

I'd like to end my speech with the voice of the Glorious Qur'an from sort of an amped up number six was the 160 degree save in Salah tiva new Tsukuba, Maja multilabel Allah mean that readily, my life, my sacrifice and my prayers are for Allah alone, the cherish of the world.
