Zahir Mahmood – Maid in Hell

Zahir Mahmood
AI: Summary ©
The negative impact of human behavior on children and their parents can lead to loss of pampelonne gifts. People should trust their employer and not let anyone else judge their behavior. The message of Islam is that everyone should be strong and strong in the face of the beast, with the exception of strong people in poor countries. The similarities between the Middle East and Africa, where people go from the outside to the inside, and the similarities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Lebanon are discussed.

Allah says on that day when it's my court, when it will be only me, when Allah will be the judge. When Allah will be the jury. Allah says on that day you employ somebody

00:00:14 --> 00:00:15

and you do not pay them.

00:00:17 --> 00:00:18

smilla rahmanir rahim

00:00:19 --> 00:00:21

al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen

00:00:22 --> 00:00:27

wa salatu salam ala ZD mursaleen Maulana Muhammad

00:00:28 --> 00:00:38

wa ala alihi wa sahbihi woman sebelumnya signing Illa yo Medina about brothers, elders, sisters llamada de la Rahmatullah.

00:00:42 --> 00:00:43

Some rubber.

00:00:44 --> 00:00:51

Last week sent me a clip, a link for a documentary,

00:00:52 --> 00:01:00

which the BBC played, which was called, made in *, but made like the word Meads.

00:01:01 --> 00:01:08

And I watched it and some harmala it was really a Jeep, that how

00:01:09 --> 00:01:31

people could actually cheat other human beings in this manner. And law have it documented the polite of maids from poor countries, like Africa, like the sub Indian subcontinent, and who had traveled to the Middle East to get a better way of life.

00:01:32 --> 00:01:38

And I watched this documentary in all honesty, and I was thinking, how is it possible

00:01:40 --> 00:01:45

that a human being could treat another human being in this manner?

00:01:47 --> 00:02:13

And worse than that, how is it possible for a Muslim to treat another human being in this manner? Well, I am and I know and I got shocked. Because when you look at the teaching of the deen, they are so far away. The teachings of how to deal with ones employees are so removed from this. See in this dunya

00:02:14 --> 00:02:23

you generally have those, you know, the haves and those who are the have nots, those who are well to do and those who are not so well to do.

00:02:25 --> 00:02:33

Those who have lost pampelonne gifts, in a short period in the short life he gives them so he can test.

00:02:35 --> 00:02:39

What will they do with that? Well, what will that wealth do to them?

00:02:41 --> 00:02:57

And then he is those who are the have nots. And Allah subhanho wa Taala, often they have, they don't have much. And Allah subhanaw taala puts them in this state. Because Allah subhana wa Taala wants to see

00:02:58 --> 00:03:05

how they will deal with their trials and tribulations. So for the rich and the poor, there are trials and tribulations.

00:03:07 --> 00:03:09

But when I watched this documentary,

00:03:11 --> 00:03:33

you know, what really struck me was that these were people who were leaving their homes to go 1000s of miles away, leaving their children leaving their husbands leaving their mother, their fathers, why? To get a better life for the children. Now, the scope for this talk is not the rights and wrongs of them leaving their children.

00:03:34 --> 00:03:52

Because I, one of the brother said al Bashir, how could they leave without a Muharram? Somewhere Muslims or non Muslims? How could they leave with a Muslim without a Muslim? I said, Listen, we are not in their shoes to judge what kind of poverty those people were going through.

00:03:54 --> 00:03:55

Let me bring it home.

00:03:57 --> 00:04:07

Our parents made that journey once upon a time, so you and I, in their minds could have a better life.

00:04:08 --> 00:04:15

So we are the last people who should be judging other people who want a better life for themselves and for their children.

00:04:17 --> 00:04:20

And when I look into the life of the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam, on this issue,

00:04:22 --> 00:04:26

the Messenger of Allah Subhan Allah Allah sort of even before the Buddha,

00:04:27 --> 00:04:34

even before he became an abbey, was a man who cared for those who nobody else cared for.

00:04:35 --> 00:04:59

When the first revelation descended, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam hurry to his wife and he said to me, loonies me Luna Cover me cover me and she asked him what happened? And he told her and then he said Hershey to Allah Nazi I fear for my life. What did she say? This is she's depicting the messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, before Prophethood

00:05:00 --> 00:05:16

She said de la ilaha illa de colo Abba in Nicoletta. So Ryan, what? What? taxable madam. What are no Elena was a bill Hawk. She said, By Allah, Allah will never forsake command like

00:05:17 --> 00:06:00

you're the one who reconciles ties. That middle color means you carry people's burdens. You take that burden from their shoulders and you place it on your shoulders. What taxable makhdoom mydoom come from the word Adam, which means nobody's in societies, those people who are nobody in society, you are the one who cares and works and earns for those people, those who nobody wants to look at society, you are the one who cares. And you are the one who always there to stand up for the truth and help other people. This was the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam before the Buddha.

00:06:02 --> 00:06:11

Before Prophethood, can you imagine how you know how great these cifar these qualities became when he became a Navy?

00:06:12 --> 00:06:24

And this is why, you know this issue about how you deal with your workers, and how you deal with those underneath you what law he, you know, there are so many variations out there.

00:06:25 --> 00:06:40

How can I Muslim, Ill treat another human being and believe in the ark era, and believe in the Day of Judgment, and think he could get away with it for in this short dimia we look into the Quran is a beautiful example

00:06:42 --> 00:06:56

of how a man treated another man as an employee. And that's the story of Musa la Salatu, salam, masala salatu salam leaves runs away from Phil town. And he comes to a certain area and he sees a group of people around the world.

00:06:57 --> 00:07:06

And they have their flock there and they're watering and they're giving the sheep and the flock water. And then he sees two girls waiting.

00:07:07 --> 00:07:36

And these girls are waiting their turn, and they need all the men to finish. So he approaches them. And he asked him, Why are you not giving water to your flock? And they say, look, our fathers are old men and old man. And these are all men standing here and we can't go any further. We need them to finish and then we can you know feed. We're not strong enough to compete with the men. So what he does, is that he does the honorable thing. He takes out water and he gives it to their flock.

00:07:37 --> 00:07:45

So these girls go home and they tell their father who was their father their father was showing off to Salaam and Nairobi as well.

00:07:47 --> 00:08:12

So he sends one of his daughters back and his daughters come to Busan, a salatu salam. And she says to Moosa, my father, one is calling you because he wants to repay you. He wants to pay you for that little good deed that you did. So he goes through no show but he left us alone. And he tells Chevrolet salatu salam his story. And so overlay this lots of Salaam said don't worry Allah subhanaw taala saved you from this evil code.

00:08:14 --> 00:08:18

And then he says to him, says listen, I will give you a home.

00:08:20 --> 00:08:25

I will give you payment. I will even marry one of my two daughters to you.

00:08:27 --> 00:08:37

And I want you to do one of two things either work for me eight years, I need your help. Stay with me for eight years or 10 years, but you choose.

00:08:38 --> 00:08:46

And then he says Margarita and Lake said but I don't want to overburden you whatever is easy for you.

00:08:47 --> 00:08:54

And then he says that he did it in Sharla Mina slowly heat. And you will see that when I deal with you.

00:08:55 --> 00:09:03

As an employer and you as an employee, you will see that I will read from the past I will never ever transgress any of your rights.

00:09:05 --> 00:09:07

Even Allah

00:09:08 --> 00:09:12

there's no burden a soul passes or below calphalon often Illa

00:09:13 --> 00:09:17

Allah lot is not bird, a soul passes ability.

00:09:19 --> 00:09:27

And you will have some harmala. Today, people who treat other human beings like their animals.

00:09:29 --> 00:09:57

The teaching of the dean will lie her soul removed. When a mother called Bilaal, he insulted him through his mother. The professor Larson called him below was a Muslim, but he used to be asleep. He called him and he said, Did you actually say that to build and then he said you are a man of ignorance and then the rest of the generation. Let me tell you the rest of the generation, then I've always had lots of move towards slaves.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:07

bilad is a Muslim, he's free to let me tell you about slaves. He says one of them whoa lucam

00:10:08 --> 00:10:13

He says, you brothers are those who are underneath you those slaves.

00:10:14 --> 00:10:48

In the Arabic language, generally you would say Hola, como cuando? Come those slaves of yours are your brothers. But the brothers are Muslim Brothers before the slaves, because he's saying that the greatest relationship that you have with those slaves are that they are your brothers. Your brotherhood overrides everything else. Then he said to him, You spoke like that to below let me tell you how I expect you to treat other slaves. He said you feed them the same food that you eat.

00:10:51 --> 00:10:54

You give him the same clothing as the clothes that you wear.

00:10:55 --> 00:10:59

And then he says never overburden your sleeps.

00:11:00 --> 00:11:06

And if you give them a difficult duty, the promise colossal mistake, then you assist them on that duty.

00:11:07 --> 00:11:15

You assist them on that duty. This is the teaching of the message of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam when it was regarding to slaves.

00:11:16 --> 00:11:18

And this is why they say

00:11:19 --> 00:11:24

in many parts of the world today, what they have today is modern day slavery.

00:11:26 --> 00:11:35

They leave their homes and there was a lady who left her home Sri Lankan lady went to Saudi Arabia 17 years

00:11:36 --> 00:11:47

17 years she lived in Saudi never got paid a penny was kept as a slave for years. She never even spoke to her family.

00:11:48 --> 00:11:53

17 years that's a life sentence. That's what you get for murder.

00:11:54 --> 00:11:58

Muslims do that to other human beings.

00:11:59 --> 00:12:01

Every year,

00:12:02 --> 00:12:16

every year 10,000 maids run away from Saudi Arabia, just from Bangladesh. 1000 run away every single year from Saudi Arabia because the way they abused

00:12:17 --> 00:12:18

beaten

00:12:19 --> 00:12:25

and this isn't me Look, this doesn't mean that all all the Middle East is like this, the vast majority of Mashallah very good.

00:12:26 --> 00:12:31

The vast majority obviously, treat them well. That's why they are so many people there.

00:12:32 --> 00:12:37

But there are some people who can't even believe that these people are actually human beings.

00:12:38 --> 00:12:40

They get raped, beaten,

00:12:42 --> 00:12:45

psychological torture, physical torture,

00:12:47 --> 00:12:53

at times, that this story that there's so many stories, that they actually even get burnt.

00:12:54 --> 00:13:11

They throw pets on not just scorch by ions and cigarettes. They throw petrol over them. I just reading the other day just last few weeks ago, where a lady from Bangladesh she came back. She said I could feel them pouring the petrol on my back. How could you do that?

00:13:13 --> 00:13:19

Now how is that humanly possible that you could do that to another human being?

00:13:21 --> 00:13:26

This is what listen. This is what Abu Jamal did to Bilaal.

00:13:29 --> 00:13:30

This is what

00:13:32 --> 00:13:33

he did to Bilaal.

00:13:35 --> 00:13:40

This is what Abu Jamal did to zanella that's the things that they did.

00:13:41 --> 00:13:51

And and it's one light, it's unbelievable. That today that you have people who can still do the same things you have, you know, in Kuwait,

00:13:52 --> 00:14:03

some of some Arab countries have tried to, you know, improve the situation Kuwait, they decided to give their workers their maids one day off in a week. There was an outcry

00:14:04 --> 00:14:12

one day in a week and this is not where he worked and you go home, you live in the same place often. One day off

00:14:14 --> 00:14:27

after the football, the stadiums, how many people die, how many workers die every single year because of you know, the situation? No health and safety.

00:14:29 --> 00:14:37

And then this this, how far this is from, you know, the teachings of a dean in the time are mortal no Cotabato the Allahu anhu

00:14:38 --> 00:14:53

there was a person he burnt his slave girl almost was the man to be said I swear by Allah. If it wasn't for the fact that Allah made it haram to burn other people I would have burnt you like you burnt her. This was asleep.

00:14:55 --> 00:15:00

And the time on the road was a massive look at how the Messenger of Allah dealt with people. There was a person it

00:15:00 --> 00:15:28

Jewish young boy who should just do the hymn of the message of Allah Azza wa sallam, only do the hymn of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and the province of Milan it was heard that he was ill. And the father of this young boy was a man who was to put thrown in the path of the Prophet sallallahu sallam. So when the Messenger of Allah would go out to relieve himself, he would hope that one of these thorns would pick the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And the message of Allah heard that this young Jewish boy is ill.

00:15:29 --> 00:15:49

What did he used to do? He should do? The headman of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi Salaam, the varicella sort of ran to his house, he knocked on the door. His father, when he opened his door, he saw the man you know, his greatest agitate his greatest enemy, but his heart melted when he told him I've come to see your son.

00:15:50 --> 00:15:54

And the room is a Los Alamos set by the SAT by the bed of the young boy.

00:15:55 --> 00:16:03

And he said to this young boy, he said, bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I will intercede for you on the Day of Judgment.

00:16:06 --> 00:16:25

And this boy said, This boy began to look at his father and his father whose life mission it was to harm the Prophet sallallahu sallam. When he saw the concern of the Messenger of Allah the heart melted, and he said it Abella Qasim is that whatever abou Qasim tells you do it.

00:16:28 --> 00:16:34

And he recited the Shahada, and the profits or loss seldom left. And he was elated.

00:16:35 --> 00:16:49

Because shortly after this little boy passed away, and the professor Lawson was elated, and he left the room and he slept in his thigh. And he said, All Praise be to Allah, who made me a source of removing one person from eternal Doom into a terminal success.

00:16:50 --> 00:16:58

This was a young boy who did the hikma of the mercy of Allah Azza wa sallam. Look how the Messenger of Allah treated this young boy.

00:16:59 --> 00:17:18

And this in America, the Allahu anhu was 10 years old. When he came into the middle of the province of La Silla. He says, for nine years, I stayed in the hidden of the prophets, Allah sallam, he said, Never once did he say to me, never once did he say, oh, why did you not do that? Why did you do that?

00:17:19 --> 00:17:24

Nine years. So one day, the Messenger of Allah told me to do go on a chore.

00:17:25 --> 00:17:53

Said I went out. And I got busy playing with children, because young. He said, the former Salah Salem came behind me, and he touched my shoulders. And he said, I looked around, and the Messenger of Allah was smiling. And he said, Yeah, or nice or nice or small *. And the US is an affection in Arabic. Oh, nice. Is it go and do what I told you to do? Now this is how the message of Allah, this is the teachings of our Deen.

00:17:54 --> 00:18:03

And you look at what we see in the world today. And let me make this clear. It's not exclusive to the Middle East.

00:18:04 --> 00:18:18

The same happens in Pakistan. The same happens in Bangladesh. The same happens in Africa. It's only because in the Middle East, people go into that country from the outside. And that's why it's recorded to the degrees recorded.

00:18:20 --> 00:18:26

Be happens, let me tell you let me go a step further. It happens in many homes around us today.

00:18:27 --> 00:18:32

You tell me tell me you don't have slave labor, the way many who treat a daughter in laws

00:18:34 --> 00:18:48

when you treat their son in laws, because somebody happened to come from a different foreign country, and now you got him locked down slave labor. And then you will then you will say you're Muslims. And then you will quote these things.

00:18:50 --> 00:19:03

18 hours people work in these countries. locked down. Lebanon, let me tell you about Lebanon. Lebanon is regarded as one of the more liberal Arab countries, Middle Eastern countries.

00:19:04 --> 00:19:07

67%

00:19:08 --> 00:19:17

of the domestic workers died by committing suicide in Lebanon. Do you believe that 67%

00:19:18 --> 00:19:23

of the domestic maids who come from other countries, vast majority African poor countries,

00:19:25 --> 00:19:31

you know, who have nothing to try who leave leave the children.

00:19:32 --> 00:19:40

In this documentary made in *, there was a woman from Africa from Kenya. She left her four children, her husband, they lived in a shack.

00:19:42 --> 00:19:56

And she went there for a year. And then she got burnt. And she she was still alive when she got back to Kenya. And she said when I was burned, I call for the madam and all I could hear somebody. All I could feed was somebody kicking me.

00:19:58 --> 00:19:59

Somebody kicking

00:20:00 --> 00:20:28

And then they still and then her husband telling the story. He's a Christian. She's a Christian. And he's saying that I got a phone call. 41 days she stayed in hospital. They didn't tell the family right before the day she was about to be sent home. 100% burned on her hands. 47% burns on her body. And the husband is a Christian. He's telling the story. He said, The lady rang me and she said, Your wife is alright, she's walking, she's talking. She's coming tomorrow. inshallah.

00:20:29 --> 00:20:35

inshallah, that's what really hit me. Because the vast majority of these countries are Muslim.

00:20:37 --> 00:20:46

Insha, Allah, your wife, your wife is coming tomorrow. She reached and he saw his wife, she lived a little while and she passed away.

00:20:47 --> 00:20:50

This year. This is a state of the Muslims.

00:20:51 --> 00:21:04

This is how you and she wasn't paid a penny. All the time that she lived, he wasn't paid a penny should see the state of the guy's house. He lives in. He lives in a mud really worse than a mud hut.

00:21:07 --> 00:21:10

And you look at the teaching of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,

00:21:11 --> 00:21:20

a certain person's camel bolted away. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said what's wrong with your camel is a messenger of Allah, the camels bolted away.

00:21:21 --> 00:21:28

And it's and it's attacking people. And the Messenger of Allah said, let me go and he said, Oh, no messenger of Allah is too dangerous. Don't go

00:21:29 --> 00:21:48

and attack you. And the province of Muslim said, Where is it? I said it's in that garden. So the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went into the garden. He entered into the garden, and the camel saw rim and the camel walks of the progress Allah Solomon Rita says, it placed his head on the shoulder of the prophets, Allah, Allah.

00:21:49 --> 00:21:52

And then I saw a tear flow from the camels eye.

00:21:53 --> 00:21:59

And the prophets, Allah Sallam said, Who is the owner of this camel? They said, as a young and sorry kid to call him.

00:22:01 --> 00:22:03

He said, Your camel is complaining

00:22:04 --> 00:22:13

that you overwork it, and you don't feed it enough. The message of a lot is Dean gave animals their rights.

00:22:14 --> 00:22:18

They gave animals their rights, there was a man who had a camel

00:22:20 --> 00:22:24

and he would mystery we would make this camel work very hard

00:22:25 --> 00:22:29

until it became old, and it could no longer work.

00:22:30 --> 00:23:00

And they told him so in the end, he intended to slaughter and he told the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam call this young call this man. And look at the words of Allah when he was infuriated. It was a camel. He should make it work hard. It became old. Now he wanted to slaughter it, and the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam called him. And he said, a cow, Tasha Baba Who? Either Ibiza or what the antihero.

00:23:01 --> 00:23:04

Counter Shabaab, look at the word he said, You ate its youth.

00:23:06 --> 00:23:12

What now is no longer has the ability and capacity to work. You want to slaughter it.

00:23:14 --> 00:23:16

This was an animal.

00:23:17 --> 00:23:31

And the Messenger of Allah said you abused it when it had the power. Now he no longer has the power, you don't want to sustain it. You don't want to support you want to slaughter it. Then Rachel mentioned it had an impact on the man and he decided not to, not to slaughter it.

00:23:32 --> 00:23:47

So brothers, let me ask you a question. Well, I did this, this, these teachings in our deed, have been there for 1400 years. What makes and I want to bring this home now, what makes a person

00:23:49 --> 00:24:25

what makes a person abuser, the people they are generally there's a two reasons because people like to be dominant. And evil people will take their dominance out on other individuals, because it makes them feel powerful. And the second thing is, that they like to humiliate the nature of people who are abused, see, a person will not abuse an animal generally, as to the degree he will abuse another human being you know why? Because you cannot humiliate another, an animal to this way you can humiliate another human being.

00:24:26 --> 00:24:41

And every abuser, every single abuse in history may be may be the leaders may be a husband may be an employer. Everyone justifies it. You know how they justify it? Because they do humanize the other person.

00:24:43 --> 00:24:51

And they justify it because now that person deserves it. And that's the only way it happens. And let me tell you let me finish off here.

00:24:53 --> 00:24:59

If you have anybody working for you, then the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said

00:25:00 --> 00:25:06

He said pay that person before the sweat dries up from their forehead.

00:25:08 --> 00:25:23

Pray that person before the sweat dries up from their forehead. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, I have the greatest right over the believers. Fifth dunya will Akira, meaning that in this dunya I am the bully and the

00:25:24 --> 00:26:04

bully, you abused any believer or you abused anybody, anybody in this dunya on the Day of Judgment, you will have to stand in front of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam. But let me tell you another narration related by Buhari so how DC Pudsey Allah subhanho wa Taala says, says thalassa to Anna hosmer homeobox Yama is it three people. I Allah says maginnis it's a last court, the day of judgment when Allah say limited bukal young. On that day, when Allah will say who this kingdom belong to the end, nobody will speak Allah subhanaw taala says, three people,

00:26:05 --> 00:26:12

I will be their representative against their oppressors on that day. Firstly,

00:26:13 --> 00:26:14

that person

00:26:16 --> 00:26:17

who employ somebody,

00:26:19 --> 00:26:22

and then they do the job and he does not pay them.

00:26:23 --> 00:26:36

Allah says on that day when it's my court, when they will be only me, when Allah will be the judge, when Allah will be the jury. Allah says on that day, you employ somebody

00:26:37 --> 00:26:38

and you do not pay them.

00:26:39 --> 00:26:41

Then you're dealing with me.

00:26:42 --> 00:26:52

You think these things are light? Can you imagine? This is a person who employs somebody and doesn't pay them? What about the trustees we find in the Muslim countries?

00:26:53 --> 00:26:55

What will that be on the Day of Judgment

00:26:56 --> 00:27:06

18 hours you make them work, you make them sleep on the floor, you don't pay him for months, maybe in the vast majority of the Muslim countries.

00:27:07 --> 00:27:08

And therefore brothers

00:27:10 --> 00:27:16

even if it's in your home is back home, let me tell you, you get away with in this dunya

00:27:17 --> 00:27:21

but there be a day one law here You and I will not be able to run

00:27:22 --> 00:27:35

and therefore fulfill people's rights in this dunya before it's too late May Allah Subhana Allah make us amongst those who fulfill the rights of others. May Allah subhanaw taala may alleviate the suffering

00:27:36 --> 00:27:44

of those who are poor. May Allah subhanho wa Taala elevate their status because the people who are poor on the Day of Judgment

00:27:45 --> 00:27:50

we'll go 500 years into gender before those who are rich.

00:27:54 --> 00:28:03

On that day, when each day will be equivalent to hundreds of years of this dunya they will go into general before us.

00:28:04 --> 00:28:10

May Allah Subhana Allah give us the ability to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet Allah Salaam keepers united in this dunya reunited in general

A few days back a friend sent me a link to a recent BBC documentary called “Maids in Hell”. The brother mentioned that I should watch it as it was very disturbing. The documentary details the plight of maids who travel to the Middle East to find a better life, but many are treated worse than slaves.

I honestly could not believe that a human would treat another human in this way, let alone a Muslim.

Sharing my thoughts on the issue in the Jummah Khutbah. Detailing the amazing rights that Islam has granted an employee.

The Sermon was delivered at As-Suffa Institute on 9 November 2018
