My first year in Medina was moved to Mohammed manures. Last one. And regretfully, I didn't get to spend more time with him. But I've benefited one major thing we were, I was taken
to a
sending away party of some sort for somebody. I think they were, they were leaving their job or they retired. I think it was a retirement party or something like that. And moved. He was there. And I was still in the language institute. I was still in the masthead. And so I asked him if he said, I want your advice as to what,
what field I should go into what discipline, you have the choice, you can go to Hadith, you can go to court, and you can go to fic, or Sharia, or the Arabic language. I said, What do you think, and I'll never forget the advice he gave me it was great advice. He said, Whatever you choose, you have to make sure you have the passion for it. And the ability, two things, the passion and the ability. He said, If you have just one of them, it's not going to work. If you have the passion, but no ability, it's going to be super, super difficult. And if you have the ability, but not the passion, and it's going to be really boring for you, and you're not going to be able to see it through. So
whatever you have whatever you decide on make sure that you've got both a passion and an ability for it. And I tried to to follow his advice when it came time I chose Cydia because you know, the legal aspect of Islam has always intrigued me. And so I went with that. And I never looked back and I don't have any regrets and I really appreciate that advice.
