Last week we covered the
embracing of Islam

because of certain values that they had. And these values ran deep in their society, in that jaggedy society. And that was tribalism,

we're not going to hand them over to you.

now there was an individual

such and such Muslim country,
the Muslims will do it,
as they are doing today, for example,
to our brothers and sisters in the USA,
look at how they're under siege,
a complete economic embargo, and look at how they're suffering. Now.
They say that, you know,
the people of Gaza are evil, and this what they deserve, etc. And they did it before as well, the US did it before to Iraq, under Saddam.
Now, if oppression happens from an ally of the US
let's say Israel, for example.
And people were to call for
an embargo against Israel. Would the US agree?
It's a yes, you know, they're, they're evil. They're doing oppression. Let's join in this embargo. No, never.
Never the double standards. Likewise, Hashem is reminding you here of the double standards of Abuja.
That if it was his own uncle, he wouldn't do the same. So why do we have to abide by his rules?
And so

He said in the name of God, if I had another person beside me I would go and I would tear down that document

that sometimes we become
so deeply involved in our own internal differences.
And we fight among one another, Muslims fighting one another.
And we forget our bigger enemy.
And so we become happy if our greater enemy is causing
some group of the Muslims to suffer.
Not realizing that today it's them.
And tomorrow it will be us.
So Hashem said, or a lot and he responded, he said, Well, what am I able to do? I am just one person. Hashem said, there is another person with you.
And when he asked who it was, Hashem said, myself.
So one more time, he said, How about you find a third person? Hashem said, we already have a third person, and that is Zuhair even every omega.
So then Elmo time, he wasn't satisfied with that. He said, Let us find a fourth person.
So he,
he went to find a fourth person.
Now what do we find Hashem doing? He's lobbying.
He's active.

But they said let us do it in a very organized
and very planned way. Such that it does not seem that we had pre planned it.
And so, the next morning

ceremonial clothing, and he goes and he makes to walk around the cab.
After finishing,
he goes to where Quraysh had assembled, you know, their their assembly where they meet in a network, which was close to the cabinet.
And he went and stood
right above them. And he said,

And he says, By God, you are the real liar. I never agreed to that document from the day it was written.
Then the third one gets up the third of the five. He gets up and he says, I swear that I have nothing to do with such a document. And I don't want to be part of such an agreement.
Then the fourth person stood up and
And he showed his opposition to the embargo. Finally Hashem Himself, He stood up and he spoke
showing his opposition.
And so these five they cause
ruckus now
and he sham
he got ready to go to the cabin
but before he did Abuja who stood up
and he said
that this is something that you planned at night.
We mentioned previously that Abu Jahan was a very intelligent person
obviously his intelligence did not lead him to Islam
and

But now it was too late. Things had already gotten out of control. And more people joined in
to show their opposition to this embargo. And so a lot more time. In it, he goes into the cabin,
to grab that document.
But to his surprise,
when he sees it, he finds that the document had already been eaten up by termites,
the small insects
and it is mentioned in books of Syrah
that it was all torn up except for two words.
And they were Bismillah, whom
Miss McCullough whom that they wrote in the beginning of the document,
in the name of Allah, Miss McCullough.
And so this was a story of how
this unjust
economic sanction and social boycott
of the Muslims came to an end.
And it came to an end after two to three years.
This embargo lasted two to three years.
So what are the lessons that we learn
from this event in the Syrah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
The first lesson that we learned
is that
the enemies of Islam
have always used this weapon
in fighting the Muslims, and in particular, the two
who preach the truth.
And that is in order to silence them.
When they see
that Islam is spreading
like wildfire.
They have to try to put it to an end. And if it is individuals, they target they target their finances.
They close down their bank accounts.
They put sanctions on them.
If it is society's countries,
they do the same economic sanctions.
And so this is because they know very well
that without funding without funding you cannot carry
On being influential
in spreading
and spreading the deen of Islam.
And so
this weapon is a very old weapon. If we see it being used today,
then we should realize it's nothing new.
It's nothing new. And we have seen in recent history, especially after 911, how,
how they have used this tool and this weapon
to target
to target the Dow
and how so many
successful Dow projects came to an end
because of this, labeling those people as being terrorists,
or sympathizing with terrorists, and so on and so forth.
The second lesson that we learn
is
to benefit from the values that non that non Muslims may have values and principles like that of justice, that are upheld
by
by non Muslims. And so, here we saw how
they were individuals from kurush. They happen to be non Muslims, but they stood with the Muslims because
because of this value that they had,
of justice, that we are going to uphold justice.
And so likewise, today, we Muslims, we need to utilize whatever we can
from these values that are upheld by the kuffar
and use it to our advantage.
And so if they value
human rights,
and freedom, according to their interpretation of human rights, and their interpretation of freedom, fine. We don't agree with their interpretation of it, but we can utilize it
to our advantage. And so for example, we have Muslims who are suffering
in different parts of the world.
We need to get up and lobby those organizations that stand up for human rights and say, look, there are Muslims who are suffering in China, for no other reason, then
their Deen that they decided to hold on to where is freedom of religion? Where are their human rights?
The Muslims are suffering in Gaza in other parts of the world.
Where are their human rights, and so there are people out there
in this society,
who have these values. And so we should take advantage of that and approach her and even their organizations and utilize them
to end the suffering of our Muslim brothers and sisters wherever they b&b.
As we see in the story,
and how it was,
it was non Muslims from Croatia who stood up and came to the aid and to bring an end to the suffering that the Muslims were going through.
The third lesson that we learned
is the importance of working together in an organized fashion.
We saw in this event that five people made a difference.
And so the whole embargo
came to an end due to the efforts of only five people.
And it started with one person
one night,
he had an idea in his mind that he set out to implement it.
And he recruited a few people who were around him
finally bringing an end to this oppressive boycott. So what this shows us
is the value of working together in an organized
and United Way.
So this Dean, it needs, it needs men who will stand up
and will act
and
the first step needs to be taken by us.
The first step it needs to be taken by us. We can't

The situation of our own need to change overnight, or to change unless we do something about it.
Until no miracle is gonna happen
no supernatural force is going to come and settings are right.
We need to take the first step. And we need to go about it in an organized way.
You know, imagine these five individuals
decided
that you know what,
let's just go with the status quo.
They're suffering, okay, what can we do about it? No, there was one man he had to determination. He was going to do something about it. And he got these other men involved. And they went about doing things in an organized way.
The fourth lesson that we learned is
that oppression and injustice
eventually has an end to it.
It's not a matter of if it will end.
It may be a matter of when.
And so it's a matter of when and not if.
When will it end? Not if it will end or not.
So Allah subhanahu wa Tada says in clear words.
When at day seven, the law her law feed an amnio metal anymore.
Do not think that Allah is unaware of what the oppressors are doing.
When we see the oppression that Muslims are going through
and we see how it's prolonging and it's not coming to an end. Does it mean Allah is unaware? Nope.
Allah lot is fully aware, but Allah allows it to prolong
for reasons that he knows.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and the companions went through the suffering for two to three years.

Isn't the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam the most beloved of Allah's creation to him and the Companions

And so when it comes to an end, it comes to an end in the lease have expected of ways,

did any of the companions or the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself imagine that the that the embargo would end in this way?
No.
Did anyone imagine from the Muslims? That it would be people of Quraysh who would come and step in and do something about it? No.
So this should make us to stand firm and patiently through tough times and are given

is
from how
the document was destroyed.

Who would imagine that tiny insects, termites would be soldiers of Allah, destroying that oppressive document.
Likewise, we have seen
from the Stories of the Prophets,
how small creatures
were the soldiers of Allah.
It was birds that destroyed the army of the elephant.
Water which is a source of life.
Allah used it as one of his soldiers,
destroying the people of New in that flood,
drowning Pharaoh Hound and his troops. Anything can be the soldier of Allah.
The point is that
the entire creation of Allah,
every creature is subservient to Allah is a servant and a slave of Allah. And when Allah calls upon His creation,
and He mobilizes them,
they readily abide, and they act as his soldiers.
Now,
since we are on the topic of miracles,
we can
mention here two important events that happened in the Sierra.
That were, in fact, miracles of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
And both of these events occurred
around this time,
you in this era,
so between the seventh
and the 10th, year of the prophethood. Because the embargo took place in this time, from the seventh to the 10th year,
the Islam of
Hamza, and Rama was prior to this.
The Hijra to Abyssinia was prior to this in the fifth year. So now we are in approximately the seventh to the 10th year of the prophet hood.
And so before moving on to the events of the 10th year,
which we're going to come to next week in sha Allah, the events of the 10th year Before moving on, we can mention two very important incidents,
both of which were miracles of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
And so the first of these miracles
was the splitting of the moon,
the splitting of the moon
and so the people of Quraysh were always asking the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for assign an area
a miracle. And we spoke about this before. And we mentioned how them demanding such miracles did not mean that they were seeking the truth and seeking to actually embrace Islam.
But rather it was just their arrogance.
As if the Quran itself was not sufficient.
The Quran itself was the greatest miracle that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam came with
putting an end to their competitions that they used to have in poetry.
The Quran itself was a miracle. It was the best miracle that the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam brought
anyways,
Allah subhanahu Attallah decided to give them a miracle.
And so
Gibreel came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and said, if they are asking for a sign for a miracle, then we will split the moon for them.
And so Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam called the kuffaar and the machete cone and said, the moon will be split into two halves.
And so they gathered at night and right before their eyes, they saw the moon split into two into two halves and then it was rejoined, came back together.
And so this is it.
A very unique miracle.
And it is an event that is firmly established.
It's mentioned in Bihari, in Muslim, there's no doubt that this event occurred.
In fact, Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions in the Quran
and Sunnah to cover the moon.
Allah subhanho wa Taala says right in the beginning of the surah Katara that is sir to one shot called Kumar,
the Hour has drawn near, the day of judgment has come near, and the moon has split into two.
So, the splitting of the moon, we can include it as one of the signs of the Day of Judgment.
And then Allah subhanahu Attallah says, we're in euro area 10 Euro real do ya are cool to see rooster
yet, whenever they see a sign, and if
so, after they saw the moon splitting into two,
they left and they said, Allah says whenever they see a sign, they turn away
saying this is the same old magic.
This is the same old magic. So they accused the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam of performing magic
but it was not an optical illusion.
It really did happen.
And so the moon did split into two.
However
critics, they may criticize and cast doubt on this particular event.
And so for example, they may say,
How come other people in other parts of the world do not see?
Or why don't we have such an important event documented recorded.
And so to respond to this,
we can say firstly,
the world is in different time zones.
Half of the world at that time, it was daytime for them right?
In Mecca, it was nighttime, then for half of the world it was it was daytime. So how could How could they see it.
So now we can rule out half of the world.
Within the other half of the world, it was probably very late at night that people were sleeping.
So many people did not see it.
Second,
it could be that the moon
was not apparent to the people in that time zone.
So in other parts of the world
at that time,
perhaps because of the weather, they weren't able to see the one.
So now we have eliminated
many other parts of the world. So now we have most of the world. We've ruled out
them having seen this miracle.
Thirdly,
in the remaining part where it was possible, the moon was visible.
It was possible for the people to have seen it. We can say
how many people actually go about looking up at the sky and looking up at the moon.
Most people don't do that.
People tend to ignore the sky above them
unless they're lying down and they're looking above.
So when it was split, it is possible that they didn't see it because they simply were not paying attention to it.
And remember that this miracle didn't last for that long.
It was perhaps for a few seconds, maybe a minute at the most.
Fourthly,
in those days,
documentation was very weak.
Many events
have occurred in history
in the past,
without people bothering to record it to write it down.
You know, it's a new phenomenon. In this day and age where we record everything every event is record
worded and it's now put on the internet, etc.
You know, even a small event,
if you were to search it, you'll find information about it. But in those days
first of all, the majority of people were illiterate, not everyone knew how to read or write.
And so those who could actually have recorded it were few.
But even those few, maybe they didn't see it, or,
or they didn't bother to record it.
So now, there remains the possibility that some people did see it, and they did record it.
And there is evidence of that.
We actually do have evidence of that. And so
even cathedra actually mentions
that
it has been recorded in India and in China.
And so they say that, in China, there are some old writings,
where they say that a certain event happened
on the year that the moon was split.
So they use it as reference
to document history.
Also, it is mentioned
that there was a king in Southern India,
in the state of Madiba, who saw it.
And he recorded it, and there is a document, it's in one of the museum's where this is mentioned.
Finally,
it is mentioned by some astronomers
that there appears to be a long divide a line
that goes around the moon.
And so it is possible
that this indicates that the moon was split and then joined back together.
And this line, if you were to look at different images of the moon, you could see it.
But nonetheless, we don't rely on this.
Because it could turn out
that they discover that this is something else.
And it's not really a line going around the entire moon for example. The point is that this information needs to be verified before we actually use it. The point is that
the other points are sufficient. The points that we have mentioned are sufficient to refute anyone who tries to object
to this miracle that did indeed happen. The splitting of the moon, we come now to the second miracle.
And that is
the victory
of the Romans, the victory of the Romans.
Throughout history,
even before the coming of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam. There used to be continuous rivalry between two superpowers of the world.
The Romans, or the Byzantines
and the Persians. They always used to fight against each other.
And so
the Persian Empire, it included parts of Iran, Iraq,
Afghanistan.
As for the Byzantine Empire, the Roman Empire.
It included Turkey,
parts of Eastern Europe, Greece, the Balkans,
Azerbaijan, Armenia, etc.
Now in one critical battle
between these two empires,
the Persians had defeated the Romans.
The Persians had defeated the Romans.
This happened
in the time of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam around this time between the seventh and the 10th year of prophethood.
So news reached Mecca
and the machete cone of Quraysh we're extremely happy to hear this news. While the Muslims were sad.
Why?
What does this have to do with the Muslims and the machico?
Because at that time
it was either worshiper and Rome was Christian. So most of them disappointed like the closer religion. Yeah. So that was really cool and they felt more closer to the Persians.
Because the Persians used to worship fire, they were pagans.
Whereas the Romans were Christians, they were added to keytab. And obviously, Al Kitab are closer to the Muslims, then pagans, then fire worshippers.
Anyhow.
The moose raccoon, were going around rejoicing
and they were saying to the Muslims, that just like the Persians,
just like the Persians have defeated the Romans, we too will defeat you.
Your time is coming as well.
And
that victory was very defeated, decisive
for the Persians, because after that, they were they were gaining
and they were winning victory after victory. It seemed inevitable that they would bring the Roman Empire to its feet and bring it down.
And that's why the mushy, cool rejoicing, they were saying finally,
the Persians are going to completely destroy the Romans. And we to tomorrow, one day, we will also defeat you.
And so this is when Allah subhanho wa Taala revealed Surah Toro

Allah subhanho wa Taala says Elif la mean
the Romans have been defeated
in the nearest land, referring to the Middle East, this is where the battle took place
around Syria around Dinesh

after the Romans defeat here, they will overcome and they will be victorious. Allah says soon they will be victorious fie builder. So you need when,
in a few years build see mean means three to nine years.
Within three to nine years, the Romans will defeat the Persians. And then Allah subhanho wa Taala says, Why you will not be the fool me mula Dino's Rila.
He also Romania shabu Allah Aziz or Rahim.
And on that day,
on that day, the Muslims, the believers will rejoice over the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whomever he wills and He is the Exalted in Might, the Most Merciful.
And so here,
Allah subhanahu wa Tada promised
that the Romans will win within 10 years.
And so, Abubakar robiola, who,
when he learned of these ayat,
he went to Abuja,
and he said,
I want to bet with you
that the Romans will eventually win.
So Abuja Hill said, Give me a timeframe.
So Abu Bakr said, less than 10 years
and so they had a bid on 100 camels, because Elijah Hill was certainly, I mean, look.
The Persians are, you know, they're completely crushing the Romans. It wasn't just that victory, but successive victories after that.
He was certain that no, it's impossible that the Romans can pick up
and come back.
And so they had this bet. Obviously, this is before
this is before betting became haram.
Bearing along with drinking alcohol, etc. Allah subhanho wa Taala revealed
the prohibition of that in the years of Medina
So, Abu Bakr Radi Allahu Han was obviously willing to bet on anything why?
Because of his email.
He believed with certainty in the words of Allah.
And what does Allah say right after these ayat
word Allah,
the Promise of Allah.
Lay your holy for Allah who idea who well our kin axon se la Allah.
And Allah does not go back on his promise. He fulfills His promise but most people they don't know.
But here
is a question
what do we understand from these words of Allah?

And on that day, the believers will rejoice at the victory of Allah.
What do we understand from this, what victory is being referred to here?
In the context of these ayat, What victory is being referred to here?
Okay, but don't you said, anyone else.
Allah says in a few years, the Romans will be victorious.
And then Allah says, On that day, the believers will be will rejoice will be happy.
So is this referring to the Roman, the Romans defeating the Persians? That's what comes to our mind right? Based on what Allah is saying here.
These verses were revealed,
as I said, around the seventh or the eighth year.
Now let us fast forward
eight years.
We come to the second year of the Hijra.
And eight years have passed by and the Romans now have defeated the Persians.
The Promise of Allah has been fulfilled.
In a few years, the Romans will defeat the Persians. Yes, it happened.
And the news now reaches the Muslims.
But
did they rejoice over that victory of the Romans? No. Why? Because on that same day, the Muslims had defeated the machinery cool on the day of battle.
So yes, they were rejoicing.
But over the victory of Allah, Allah gave to them.
Over the victory of Allah, Allah, Allah subhanho wa Taala gave to them. And so they received the news of this day, and the victory
of Al better overshadowed everything else. So that was indeed
something to rejoice over. This is what most of the scholars of Tafseer mentioned,
regarding these words of Allah, or Yeoman Vineya, for a whole mean would have been Australia and on that day, the believers will rejoice over the victory of Allah. Now, the mutually cool news to say that they will defeat the Muslims like the Persians defeated the Romans.
But what ended up happening?
Didn't the mushy Kuhn in Makkah Didn't they say, when they heard the news of the Persians defeating the Romans didn't they say, today the Persians have won, and we too, will defeat you or Muslims.
But what ended up happening on that day, eight years later,
the exact opposite. And so, the Romans one, and the Muslims also, they won, and they defeated, they defeated the machinery cool.
And what a defeat is was and what a victory it was for the Muslims as we will come to Inshallah, to Allah, when we come to that stage of the spirit of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
And so with that we come to the end of
