Surah Yusuf 09 Dream Of The King

Bismillah al Rahman al Rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa sallahu wa sallim ala Nabina Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi wa seldom at the Sleeman kathira Allah Medina Ummah back, dear listeners Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakato. It gives me great pleasure to be with you once again, today is Monday, the 14th of August 2006. Yesterday, we covered the important lessons that we learned from the surah was use of adding salatu salam was in the prison, the important lessons for those who invite towards Allah subhanho wa Taala important lessons for parents important lessons for teachers or those who find themselves in a position of authority. And we spoke about the

important ways that you do that or that you should, you know, be sure to the point you should invite to that which is the most important to tawheed obviously, for those who are inviting towards Allah subhanho wa Taala and the different methodologies that you can use the different ways to draw those that you are speaking to into you. We did say at the beginning and I'll say it again. So the use of is nothing but a madressa a school in itself a lesson for a believer in every walk of his or her life. Now before continuing today. You know, there's a hadith program that is done every morning after fudger and the Hadith that we mentioned and I thought I shared it with you a beautiful Hadith

Then Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says wacol been shocking and a heart that is thankful. A heart that is thankful is a heart that always recognizes the blessings

of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And remember from Surah Yusuf he was saying how he said well I can see like Quran that most people do not think Allah subhanho wa Taala and when did he say this? He said this after telling the two inmates of his belief in Allah subhanho wa Taala that he doesn't associate partners with Allah subhanho wa Taala. So he is thankful to Allah subhana wa Taala for the fact that our last panel has guided him. And also the same applies to us that we should have a heart that is thankful firstly of the blessings of Allah subhanho wa Taala upon us that we are from the followers of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and if we are guided followers of Rasulullah

sallallahu alayhi wasallam we need to thank Allah subhanho wa Taala even more and we need to thank him for the bounties and blessings that he has declared over us and granted us in the good homes we live in the good families we come from the children that we have the financial standing and material well being that Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us good health, you know free time, all these blessings that Allah subhanho wa Taala gives us we should not take it for granted. We should think Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah and Allah Subhana Allah Allah says Allah insha Allah as you know, that if you think Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah is that he will gentle will increase for you His bounty,

then Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said well balloon, lol Bella is a body that is patient in times of difficulty. In times when Allah subhanho wa Taala is testing it, you this body is patient, it understands that he or she is a slave of Allah subhanho wa Taala and this is part of life. I have to be patient. They understand the hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam whereby he said that he believes if Allah subhanaw taala grants him he thinks Allah subhanho wa Taala or she thinks Allah subhanho wa Taala and Allah subhana wa Taala or by thanking Allah subhanho wa Taala

This is good for them. And also, if Allah subhanho wa Taala tests this person, then this person, he or she is patient is patient in that which Allah subhanho wa Taala is testing them with. And as a result that is also good for them. So when it comes to them, they think and it's good for them and when a leftist them they are patient and it is also good for them. So a body that is patient in times of difficulty accepting all what Allah subhanho wa Taala decrees upon us, then Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ends it and says, a wife, who is honest or is trustworthy in herself, and in her ability to deal with his finances, meaning the husband's finance that she doesn't cheat

him. She is not deceiving. She doesn't have this quality of one who is deceptive and of being a person who cheats. So she is honest in herself in that she's loyal to her husband and that she is honest and loyal in the husband's belonging, and it is not rocket science. We don't need a lot of speech in making one understand the importance of having a pious wife Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said adunni akula mata, so had Allah that the world is full of metal, meaning things which are just there to enjoy.

Metallica and the best of all things that you can enjoy are the best of all the things that this dunya has to offer, is a pious wife, a soldier to suddenly have a wife who is pious. So we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala, to grant us the acceptance or to grant us the understanding of this hadith and accept us to be from amongst those who he reveal who He grants to us, the best of all things that he can give us in this world and they are after a tank which is moist with the remembrance of Allah subhanho wa Taala a heart which is thankful a body which is patient with Allah subhanho wa Taala tested and a wife who is honest in herself, and in her husband's belongings May Allah subhanho wa

Taala accept and grant us this near Ma and these blessings and we also ask Allah subhana wa times to make us thankful for when he does grant us these neoma and these bounties and blessings. Moving on with the Tafseer yesterday, again, we stopped at an important aspect of the surah where we said this ayah we can take a lot of lessons from an infected Allah after I've spoken a lot about it. Before going into that we spoke about Yusuf alayhi salatu salam inviting these people to the heat.

Did these to accept his message? This is the question that is put out, did they actually accept the message of Yusuf alayhi salaatu wa sallam that okay, we've heard what you have to say you are a honest man, you are a learned person, you this person who is a contributor to this, to me to the environment that you are in, we've seen good in you, you have invited us to this thing to this aspect of the heat and believing in the oneness of Allah subhanho wa Taala did they accept his message? Well, let me not use the word convinced not to force the people into guidance. That's not our responsibility. We can't make somebody practicing and make somebody not practicing that is from the guidance that Allah subhanho wa Taala grants upon a person, our or the duty that we have to fulfill is actually passing on the message. So this is a lesson that we are taught that whether the person accepts the message or whether they don't accept it that is not in your hands so and invited towards Allah subhanho wa Taala should never feel disappointed and depressed and in a state of low optimism when he or she carries on inviting towards Allah subhanho wa Taala and nobody listens and accepts

the message. And Allah subhanho wa Taala confirms this for us when he said in mechelen Tajima when I came to LA yada yada that you will not guide anybody that you wish but Allah subhana wa Taala guides those who he wishes. This is a question which somebody may ask that why isn't he asking Allah subhanho wa Taala since he is or he was always taking guidance from Allah subhanho wa Taala Why is he telling this person that he listened helped me out here when you get out there tell your king about me. So we learn from this the permissibility and doing so this falls under the category of above and I did discuss it the other day that you use all those means that Allah subhanho wa Taala has made available to you. You use as a means that which Allah subhana wa Taala made a means

then you put your trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala just as a person locks his home switches on the alarm system, informed the neighbors that he's leaving, make sure they look out for his home and then he puts his trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala so he uses all the means that Allah subhana wa tada has made available to him instead of just leaving the house open, not switching on the alarm system, not informing anybody who's going and then saying you know what, if Allah subhanaw taala once the house will be broken into and if Allah subhanaw taala doesn't want then no one will break into my house. Allah subhanho wa Taala does what he wants he questions no one questions him however

it is from tawheed Allah as well as from the aspect of the hidden your relationship with Allah subhanho wa Taala that you do all those things that you are capable of doing that Allah subhana wa tada has made a means for you. And then you place your trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala.

So shavon here made this person forget. And just as a recap, so what Yusuf alayhi salatu salam did was totally correct and if you listen for us, it is from Allah, as verb, which is using as a means which Allah subhana wa Taala has made a means this is from the completeness of the heat. So Yusuf alayhi salatu wa sallam was in no error seeking assistance from somebody that Allah subhanho wa Taala made a means of assistance, and Allah subhana wa knows best. So shaytan here made Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us that shavon here made this person forget. And as a result, use of La salatu salam spent so many more years in the prison. And without doubt, mankind is weak and mankind

And in a hadith of Rasulullah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said, roofie, Armijo Madhava when we see and that Allah subhanho wa Taala has lifted from the oma Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the aspect of them forgetting and of them making mistakes, not that they won't forget, and they won't make mistakes, but he's lifted from them the aspect of meaning that Allah subhanho wa Taala will not hold responsible, those who forgets and

those who actually make mistakes. We you know, you may have studied a lot you may have put in all the hard work, however you need to turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala you use the means the means is to study, make sure you know all your material, don't just go into the exam and say look, whatever is meant to happen will happen. You need to study hard. Use all the material available to you, you know, whatever you don't understand, go back to your teachers make sure you understand properly, then turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala and seek his assistance from shavon making you forget and asking Allah subhanho wa Taala to protect the knowledge that you have

learned and ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to make you remember it and recall it when the when there is need for you to recall it. So if you're sitting in the exam, and you forget, remember Allah subhanho wa Taala so this is Allah subhanho wa Taala teaching us the shape and ability to make one forget and then what happens so this person forgot to mention use of Allah He salatu salam to his king phalaborwa precision, Yusuf alayhi salatu salam remained in the prison visa as he Nene for several years now with obviously means a number between three and 10 as taught to us by those who specialized in the Arabic language so Yusuf alayhi salatu salam spent several years between three

For example, let's take an easy example that which is closer to our mind, you need to pick up something which is heavy, Allah subhana wa Taala has placed as a means in somebody else assisting you to carry this thing if you seek assistance from the next person.

And your friend you say, listen, please help me carry this up the stairs and he assists you. There's no problem in that Why? Allah subhanho wa Taala has placed the means of him assisting you in him, so you can seek assistance from that person. However, if it is something solely from Allah subhanho wa Taala if you are seeking something that nobody can give you except Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah subhanho wa Taala hasn't placed this assistance in anybody except Him. And then you turn to somebody else and look for this help you are damaging your relationship of Allah subhanho wa Taala This is not from Allah, from using that which Allah subhana wa Taala has made as a means and you are

affecting your belief in Allah subhanho wa Taala. And you need to ask Allah subhanaw taala forgiveness and correct your ways immediately.

So we need to understand this, the reason why I'm speaking about it more than once is because this got to do with to heat, and many of us today actually lack when it comes to our relationship with Allah subhanho wa Taala you know, so many times, and this is just a point that comes to mind, not from what we're speaking about here. But even the aspect of somebody saying touchwood

We need to make sure that we die as Muslims May Allah subhanho wa Taala protect us from all the aspects of ship, Al Akbar and Alaska the lesser Sheikh and the major ship We ask Allah subhanho wa Taala for guidance, we asked him to protect us and guide us on to the right path. We asked him to grant us true realization

whereby we sit with the trilemma on a daily basis if it if the need requires it, and learn from them exactly what is required from us in the Avenue of the heat. May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us the understanding.

So Yusuf Ali salatu salam had full trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala. He knew that listen, Allah subhanho wa Taala whatever he decrees will happen if I'm meant to stay here, I will stay here if it's meant for me to go out, I will go out. But he used that which Allah subhanho wa Taala had made a means for him. And this again is a lesson for us because look, shavon made this person forget, and Yusuf Ali salat wa salam was stuck in the prison. prison. You know, he didn't lose hope in Allah subhanho wa Taala. He was content with the decree of Allah subhanho wa Taala. He did everything that Allah subhanho wa Taala said, is from you to do, he used this person as a means. He said, Go, Go tell your king about me. That person forgot he didn't sit and question Why did he forget why he didn't forget? Why did you do this? Why you didn't do this. And this you'll see later because this wind pora is going to remember Yusuf alayhi salatu salam later on,

and he's going to come back to you so Valley salatu salam, he was totally content that Listen, I've done everything that I could. The rest is from Allah subhanho wa Taala and Allah subhanho wa Taala prefers that I stay here he has decreed and declared that I will remain here he is content here he has accepted that the period and other of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And thus he is content with the decision of Allah subhanho wa Taala not in a state of depression and anxiety and intense sadness. So again, the patients of Yusuf Ali salatu salam stands out. Now there's another interpretation to this verse and I'm just mentioning it for benefit. In all essence, it seems like a weak interpretation.

But some have mentioned that actually shavon made use of Allahu salatu salam forget to remember Allah subhanho wa Taala. So here in the ayah when we discussing

salam, when the king had this dream and will come to you just now he had this dream, and he asked those around him to interpret the dream for him, and they couldn't. Then what happened? This wine Porter remember Yusuf alayhi salatu salam. So the fact that Allah subhanho wa Taala said that he remembered his strong argument in showing that the person who actually forgot was the wine poorer, he forgot to mention Yusuf alayhi salatu was salam to the king, and thus use of state for a longer period in the prison, not the other way around the use of forgot to remember Allah and Allah punished him by keeping him in the prison. And also another point that we can say, is Allah subhanho

wa Taala does it take from you that which you forgot? So if you severely serratos and I'm actually forgot to remember Allah subhanho wa Taala? Why would Allah subhanho wa Taala punish him? Then he sees seven healthy crops of grain being overtaken by seven dry ones. Obviously, grain which is dry falls to the ground immediately and doesn't have or doesn't have the ability to take over grain which is healthy and green, which is full of of life, which is undergoing the processes of photosynthesis, which is full

of chlorophyll etc. as science teaches us. So he is in shock. He wakes up and he's thinking to himself that there's definitely a message in this dream. I need this dream interpretation. So what does he say? He says, Yeah, you Hello.

Yeah, you know? Best advisors in the land cannot assist here.

Now, what do you think of a person who can solve the problem?

The highest authority sees at the highest advisors in the land can't solve the problem. What would you say? Or what would you title the person who now comes and solves the problem for the king? Obviously, we would say he is more qualified and more competent. And he has more right to be an advisor to this king. So now what happens? What quality May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us the character of use of salat wa salam. So Yusuf alayhi salatu salam immediately interprets the dream for this person. Because Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said yes, you want to assume that facilitate things for one another, and don't make things difficult for one another here use of Allah salatu salam teaches us this again, where he says that listen, immediately, I will solve the dream interpreted for you. And I will on top of that give you a solution to your dream. So Yusuf alayhi salatu salam says, or interprets the dream and give them the

Now, once again, speaking about occupations and problems, do our problems and depressions even come close to that of use. And time and time again, look at this Subhanallah he comes out with flying colors. No matter what. You know, today people might have a problem in the home a little bit and they walk out the home with a gloomy face, and they might meet their friends or on the street or at the workplace or in the masjid and you can see it on the faces this gloominess, it's affecting them. They don't know how to deal with people. They take the bed animosity from the home which they had and use it on everybody that they might see during the day.

And we're talking about minor petty issues. Look at the problems that use the valet so that the cinema is complete.

But do our D patients and pity issues come close to this? And I'm saying pity because in reality, if we even try to compare what we go through to what Yusuf alayhi salatu salam went through, we can't even compare. It is our problems are a drop in the ocean. So this also teaches us that no matter what, don't hold grudges, you know, don't hold grudges be in acceptance of the codon of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And then when the seven difficulty has come, total drought, no rain, no crops, no agriculture, we will use the food that you preserve to feed your people. Now, we learn from this the following, first and foremost, that it is not against the aspect of tawakkol to plan

and forecast and prepare. Meaning you have your trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala it is not against the aspect of you having trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala to plan for the future, you plan for the future like use of value. So that's what I'm here is advising them, how to plan for the future, how to use the seven years of good rainfall and good harvest and how to conduct themselves in the seven difficult years that will come afterwards. We also learn from this. And this is especially for leaders for parents for those of authority, the aspect of tackling problems and not just sweeping them under the carpet. And also this is a message to to those parents who when some well wishes in society come to them and advise them that listen, your son or your daughter is engaged in this evil, or in this in this avenue, which is disliked and not correct. You know, which affects the smooth balance of society, parents should not be oblivious, and be stubborn and say not my child, that can never happen to my child, and then just carry on. like as if there is no problem.

You know, this person visited us she peed underneath the carpet, low investigation, pretend that it doesn't exist, because by pretending that it doesn't exist, we'll all be happy, and we all won't feel the depressions that we may feel if it does exist, so you suffer. So that's a sort of teaches you the aspect of addressing and tackling problems as soon as they arise. So it is important that we have those who actually are those who are intellectual and those who have the ability to intelligently advise us in the different aspects that we may be going through. We learn from this again as the last
