hamdulillahi Rabbil alameen wa Salatu was Salam ala rasulillah where Allah Allah he was, he was a limiter, a limiter Sleeman, kathira Elijah Medina, my bad Allah whom Allah is Melina Illa alum tena in the current earlywood Hakeem Allahumma aluminum and founder of the Madeleine tena Tana, was it was it in their element watermelon? Yeah, Kareem, my dear brothers and sisters in Islam Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. It gives me great pleasure, first and foremost, to be back with you all, in this particular season with the new Muslim Academy. And I would like from the outset to thank the new Muslim Academy for this particular initiative. And ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to
accept all efforts. And I'd like to thank you for choosing to invest your time to attend such lessons in which insha Allah we will add some value to our lives in this world before the hereafter. I mean,
ask Allah subhanho wa Taala as well from the outset, to bless our gathering, to make us a gathering that is a good word and follows it and ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to make us a gathering forgiven upon our departure, as well as ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to gather us in genma in the same way he has gathered us here today, I'm just running through the list of attendees here, Mashallah. And looking at some of your names, because it's a clear indication for myself, and it's really heartwarming and once again, I'd like to share with you all my sincere thanks and express my gratitude. It is the coolness of my heart to be involved in sessions such as these and ask Allah
subhanho wa Taala to make me worthy of your listenership. Indeed Allah subhanho wa Taala is upon all Eva. And my dear brothers and sisters, the topic for this particular session is Salah, and matches surrounding its importance. And the only way to begin a topic such as this one is to focus in on the blessings that Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us for without doubt, Allah Subhana who has Allah has blessed us with blessings. In fact, countless blessings, countless blessings, if we look at our life, at our abilities, at our faculties, our sustenance, our financial standing material well being and so many other worldly attributes, and even greater than all of this is the fact that Allah has
blessed us with guidance to Islam, or illa hemd. And not only guidance to Islam, but a guidance to Islam with a guidance towards learning the way of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Right, and that is an increased blessing, whereby we are Muslims, and we are inspired to learn the best way to worship. Allah subhanho wa Taala. And the best gift we can give ourselves is to develop ourselves and upskill our abilities with knowledge. And this is the reality of the institute that you are studying in currently in and the reality of the live session that we are conducting currently. So Allah subhanahu Allah has blessed us with countless blessings. And when anybody gifts us for
something, then it is upon us to thank them.
And if Allah subhanho wa Taala gifts us with something, then he's even more deserving of a thanks and not just anything but a greater hand. And Allah subhanho wa Taala God Almighty, is so merciful, is so merciful, that when we thank Him, He rewards us. So our thinking becomes a means of building our paradise. And our thinking becomes a means of making our scales of good deeds heavier on the deal.
Right now that's absolutely amazing. That here we are thanking, and in our thanking we stand to benefit because Allah subhanahu wa, ala God Almighty doesn't need our time. He is what in need of Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah is independent. Right Allah subhanho wa Taala does not need us to show gratitude for his gift to be complete Lau Allah, Allah subhanho wa Taala doesn't need that. But when we thank Him, then Allah subhanho wa Taala uses that as a means of allowing our benefits, our blessings to become compounded, meaning the blessing becomes an even greater blessing and an even greater blessing and an even greater blessing.
Depending on how much we thank Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the Quran, he says, Let in Shackleton as he didn't know that if you are thankful, and you show gratitude, then Allah subhanho wa Taala will increase for you, La Ilaha Illa he will increase for you to Panama, Panama, Allah subhanho wa Taala make us from the Grateful Now, the reason why I started off the topic talking about magnanimous blessings that Allah subhanho wa Taala has shared with us is because this topic is a topic of sutra and follow my dear brothers and sisters is a gift. Yes, a gift and not a burden as some people feel today and that's very unfortunate. It is actually a
gift from Allah subhanho wa Taala upon us. Thus we consider the salah and act of worship, even though it is for Allah subhanho wa Taala it is a gift upon us for when we observe the prayer, we stand to benefit both from a method a metaphysical Avenue as well as a physical Avenue and inshallah I will try and touch upon that in the course of today's session. So Salah is a gift and not just any gift, it is a great gift and for so many reasons from them, is that Salah was given to us on a special night. And after a verse of Hannah who Allah called his beloved prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam to him, La ilaha illa Allah, all the laws of the Sharia were revealed to Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam whilst he was a minister, while he was amongst the Sahaba but Salah was given to Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam after Allah Subhana who else had called him Mohammed sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, our beloved prophet to the heavens, on a special night, known as the night of Israel Ah, and mirage. Esra refers to a person who travels at night. So the travel by night was referred to as law because the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was made to travel from Mecca to Jerusalem. Right and this was known as the travel by night and from Jerusalem, he ascended to the heavens and this Ascension in the Arabic language is known as El Mirage. So, on this special night,
and after Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam attending to the heavens, it was here that Allah subhanho wa Taala gifted him with this gift of a Salah with this gift of salah and there's so many lessons that we can benefit from the night of Israel Mirage and maybe that can be a topic for another day but related to the actual Salah, one of the lessons we can actually extrapolate and derive from the advent of the salah and Mirage, this travel by night and an ascension to the heaven was that this Salah, this gift which Allah Subhana Allah has given us It wasn't specific to this oma to us to the followers of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Rather, it was something that was
given to the nations before us. And on the night of Israel mirage. When the prophets of Allah Allah, He will tell them passed by Musa alayhis salam, who we may know as Moses, when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed him. Musa alayhis salam asked him that what was given to you, and Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said I was given the Salah, and when you Sally solemn peace and blessings be upon him, when musar peace and blessings be upon him. I heard this gift that Allah subhanho wa Taala gave Mohammed Salah la hora de wasallam. He immediately said, How many was given to you? And when he heard that it was given to him. And yes, my dear brothers and sisters, we know
the prayer as five times a day. But initially, the initial gift was 50 prayers a day. 500 am Allah. So when he told who's adding Salah, and he said that 50 was given to me mousseline Salaam said, No, this will be too much for your people, you must go back and get a reduction. And we also learn from this great love that the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him had for us all. He had such a great love for us all that he took Musa alayhis salaam Musa peace be upon him advice, you know, as we say, above his head, meaning he gave it the utmost importance, the utmost importance, he said to Pamela. Well, if you felt that this was difficult for your own mother, I'm going to take your advice and I'm
going to go back to Allah Almighty and ask him to reduce it. And this is what happened. It was reduced to a certain number, but it wasn't enough. musallam said you have to go back and get it reduced was reduced again, but it wasn't enough. So musasa
said no even this will be too much. So please go back and ask for a reduction. And he went back mass production, all to make our lives easier to handle law until the number was reduced from 50 to five. And when our beloved prophet peace be upon him, went to Moses Musa alayhis salam. And I told him that okay, it's been reduced to five, Moses said, peace and blessings be upon him that go back and get a deduction from five because even five is too much. But our beloved prophet peace be upon him said no, inshallah five will be okay. And it was such a blessing from Allah Almighty, that when this five, when the number was reduced from 50 to five, we were promised on that night the reward of 50,
which means each prayer is equivalent to 10. So you have five prayers times 10, which equals 50. And this is a gift from Allah subhanho wa Taala against a gift within a gift, that ilaha illa Allah, how amazing is that? How God Almighty is gifting us. So this is a gift within a gift, because the Salah was a gift and the reduction of Salah from 50 to five, to make it easier for us was a gift. And then the multiplication of the rewards of the prayers. In an instance where a prayer is equivalent to 10 prayers so that when we observe five prayers a day, we get the rewards of observing, thirsty, this is yet another gift and this is the reality. My brothers and sisters have the gifts that God
Almighty gives us. So this is the first point that teaches us What a great gift Salah is that it was given to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam on a very special night number one, number two, after the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was caused to ascend to the heavens. Number three, it was reduced five, with the rewards of 50 that is yet another gift. And then we have a fourth reason that teaches us What a great gift Salah is. And that is that in the Salah, my dear brothers and sisters, we have a golden opportunity to stand in front of a lot of mighty at least five times a day as a minimum, we know that there's many other voluntary prayers that we can observe. But in terms of
the obligatory prayers, then there's a minimum of five. So it's a gift in that it causes us to stand in front of God Almighty five times a day that causes us to come into the presence of God Almighty, if I can use that as an explanation even though God Almighty is ever aware of what we do. But this is a grand opportunity that Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us and we know how happy and proud and amazed we would be and how excited we will we would be if we were given the opportunity to come into the presence of a president of a country or a king of a country or some special Prince, and so on and so forth. We would be amazed we would have sleepless nights dreaming of how amazing it would be
the day our appointment arrives. Right? But here Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us a golden opportunity to stand in front of the King of kings, the creator of everything in creation 205 times a day. Right? That is a great gift. I think this alone is enough and suffices to make us understand what a great gift the Salah is May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant is the understanding. I mean, another reason my dear brothers and sisters that we can appreciate the great gift that the Salah is, is that the Salah is an opportunity to become closer to God Almighty, in fact to become closest to God Almighty. And this is because our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam taught us in a
narration, which is authentic, that a person is closest to God Almighty, when he or she is in frustration when he or she is in frustration. When you are frustrating, you are the closest to God Almighty.
Amazing, amazing. And I promise you the most peaceful place you can find when you are amidst chaos is to put your head in humility on the ground. For God Almighty, It's so peaceful, It's so peaceful, spiritually it is. And the reality of it is that we are actually closest to God Almighty as we are taught by the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. And even some medical practitioners have mentioned diligence about this in terms of how how easy this is on the heart, meaning when you actually bow down in that particular way, when your heart sits in the center of its equilibrium, in terms of pressure, and so on and so forth. So it's even easier on the heart in terms
of its beating and so on and so forth. This is some research that I came across. But even if we don't have all these medical facts, it's enough for us to know that we are closest to God Almighty when we are in
This position and this again magnifies the great gift that the stroller is the Sarah Oh sevens of Allah. And we are all servants of God Almighty, and our children of Adam, and we are all children of Adam. Peace and blessings be upon him is so great, and we understand the greatness of it, which entails teaches us What a great gift it is, in the fact that in Islam, it is the greatest pillar, after
the article of faith after the pillar of faith, after the pillar that brings you into the fold of Islam. The greatest pillar that holds up Islam is the seller
is the seller of hanabi. Allah Allah, the greatest pillar that holds up our Islam is this fella. And this teaches us What a great gift it is. In fact, we can add in say, we learn further What a great gift it is, and how it is a grand pillar, and the greatest of pillars after we entered the fold of Islam, in that the first question that God Almighty will ask yourself and myself about on the Day of Judgment, when we stand in front of him, the first thing he will ask us about is the seller
is the seller, not about our fasting, not about our charity, or about how good we were two people thought about our Hajj, and Amara and all the other wonderful acts of worship. He will ask us to panda who has data about salah
and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went as far as saying that if your Salah is in order, meaning when you get asked the question about Salah, and everything about your Salah checks out, then only will all your other deeds stand up right and benefits Subhan Allah, meaning a person who did Hajj and does and fast and does charity and so on and so forth, if they neglect this a lot and miss the Salah, which is a great gift which God Almighty has given us all those acts of worship and all those good deeds that they do will cease to benefit them, it will cease to benefit them the key towards benefiting from all those other acts of worship is in looking after your Salah. And this
entails the importance of the Salah teaches us how important it is. Right? So we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to grant us this understanding. So this again teaches us how amazing this fella is that Salah is the first thing that Allah subhanho wa Taala will ask about on the day of judgment and ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to make us from amongst those that pass the test of Salah on the diazepam. And as I'm telling you this, I was just thinking of a point which I want to share with you. And that is that early I said we will stand in front of Allah Subhana who has had on the doorstep on the day of karma you and I will stand in front of Allah and he will ask us about our deeds. And the first
deed he will ask about is the sutra. And the point to note is that we will stand in front of God Almighty. And the next point to note is that we do stand in front of God Almighty in Salah whilst we are in this world to Panama. So when we stand in front of God Almighty in the Hereafter, the first thing he will ask about is the correctness and punctuality and love for our standing before him whilst we were in this world. Absolutely amazing, absolutely amazing. So panorama, he will ask us about the reality of our standing in this world.
How beloved standing in front of him in this world was to us. We will be asked about it when we stand in front of him in the hereafter and ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to make our standing in front of him the most beloved thing to us in this world, so that it is also the most beloved thing to us in the hereafter that we pass from the question regarding Salah greatly, and all our deeds stand to benefit us and we are afforded the greatest of all paradises. Indeed, God Almighty is upon all evil. I mean, another great point, my dear brothers and sisters, that really makes manifest importance of this particular Salah is that there is never a time in our life. After we attained the age of
puberty, and we remain upon sanity, there is never a time when we are excused from the Salah. As long as our mental state is with us, and we have attained the age of puberty. This Salah is compulsory and is a part of our lives. If we look at fasting, fasting is lifted for the one who travels, fasting is lifted for the one who is ill. If we look at hedge hedge is only compulsory if you have financial and bodily ability. If we look at Zika, which is another pillar of Islam, it's only called free if we if we actually hold a certain amount of wealth.
For a certain amount of time, there's a specific a specific raava threshold that we suppose to attain, and then attain that threshold for a certain amount of time before the car becomes compulsory. But when we look at Salah is always compulsory in our life, always. I mean, there's no excuse to leave if we ill, we can observe the prayer while sitting. If we can't observe the prayer while sitting there, we can observe the prayer while laying down and this is if we ill, or if we're in a situation that prevents us from praying, and the time of Salah will depart, and we have to observe the Salah in its fixed in prescribed time. Right. So if we can't stand, we can sit if we can
sit, we can lie. And if you can't lie, then you move with us head movements, right? Observe your your Salah, and if you so de capacitated that you can't even move any part of your body then you do it with your heart. But there's never a time when you are, you are given a ticket to leave the salon in totality as long as you are sanity, and you are above the age of puberty. So Pamela, if you can't use water, then there's a concept known as Tambo, right? To observe this to ensure that you observe the Salah. So even in the means, or the conditions of the prayer, such as purity, we have a substitute that if you can't use water, then you use dust. And this teaches us how important the
Salah is for Allah subhanho wa Taala has covered all the angles for us, never left us in a situation or was the idea that we can leave the Salah or for any period of time. And obviously this is the general rule there are specific exceptions like for example a female who is experiencing post birth bleeding, or a female who is experiencing her monthly cycle and so on and so forth. But these are acute exceptions to the general rule. However, the general rule is vast and stems and teaches us the importance of this particular Salah. Now, what I say to my dear brothers and sisters is after we've heard all these great elements that really focus in on how great a gift Salah is, What do you feel?
I mean, just speaking about it, I feel elated. I feel the need to scream out and say Alhamdulillah and Subhan Allah and Allah whom Allah can command but really Jalali Avi misophonic, I feel the need to praise Allah subhanho wa Taala that Yama you blessed us with so many things, and even the worship you've given us is a great blessing in and of itself. And in the blessing are many, many more blessings and how can I ever be in a loss and I feel so happy so happy you all should be to that Allah has chosen us to be from amongst those that have accepted the message of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam peace be upon him for the only way to really did use an extract and squeeze the
benefits and blessings from all these gifts that Allah subhanho wa Taala has showered us is to be a believer, and to be a believer, one has to believe in the fact that God Almighty is the only one worthy of worship and accept the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam who is Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as the final messenger. Yes, it entails all the other important aspects and tenants, such as believing in all the prophets that God Almighty sent, and all the books that God Almighty revealed, and all the angels that God Almighty created, as well as the last day and the good and bad faith from God Almighty and so on and so forth. And all these together, make us from
amongst those that can benefit greatly from these gifts. I imagine if a person didn't have access to Islam in the sense that they haven't been from amongst those whose hearts have been opened up to this religion. How then could they benefit from these great gifts? Oh, surely. And truly, we really, really, really need to be grateful to Allah subhanho wa Taala. And thank you, man, thank you, man. Thank you, Allah. Not only have you taught us the greatness of those gifts, but you've made us from among those that stand to benefit from it. There was a panda who has had to make us from amongst those that benefited greatly from this particular gift. I mean, it brothers and sisters before our
time comes to an end. I also want to share with you some other elements that make us understand how important the Salah is, and what great a gift it is. We don't have time to delve into everything. But there are so many other elements from both the physical and metaphysical context that we can look at, that really manifests the importance of the Salah. It really teaches us the importance of the Salah. And I'd like to start with the spiritual benefits, the spiritual benefits because the spiritual aspect of our lives is very important to us. Right. And we live in a world that is very bodily oriented, and the world which is very bodily oriented, where we
Always look at physical benefits, and so on and so forth, sort of, de humanizes us if I can use that particular term. And it's the presence of spirituality that makes us human beings. Right. And and this is the essence of the human being. And we really appreciate this further, when we look at a person who passes away when a person passes away, before they buried, if we look at the body, we see that they have their eyes, their nose, their mouth, that he their hands, the heart is in there, the blood is in there, the lungs are in there, the body is as it was when we used to visit them when they were alive. But the only thing missing missing is the spirituality is the is the soul, right?
The electricity of this body, right, those innate elements, they're missing, and that has rendered this body useless and dead. SubhanAllah. And this teaches us that when we visit people, we actually visit this they spiritualities, we visit their souls which are embodied in these bodies, right, because when they pass away, we can visit their bodies, but it's not the same as when we visit them when they are alive. So our spiritual sides really need to be looked after, really need to be checked, especially in a world that is very bodily infested. When I say infested, I mean, everything around us is there to serve this body, whether it's exercise equipment, whether it's diet, whether
it's consumerization, whether it's everything, it's all about us and this world, and we need to be people that that managed to head the line of balance, and never, ever close the door to feed our soul. And this fella, my dear brothers and sisters feed the soul. And this is what makes it important if that avenue towards nurturing and quenching the thirst of the soul, because the most important part of our bodies is our heart, our heart, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam explained this when he said that there's nothing about our bodies, except our heart. And when our hearts are in order, then the entire entity of ourselves will be in order. And when this heart is
corrupted, the entire entity of ourselves will be corrupt. And many of us on this call might be able to even explain this better than myself. Right? Because for those who have accepted Islam, right, you still who you are. But what changed? Did your ears change? Did your eyes change? Your mouth change? Anybody? Did any physical features change? No, the heart changed. It was the heart that changed. Right? You know, some new people actually say that they come from a time of, of really bad music, and alcohol and so on and so forth. And, and a time when that was most beloved to them. But all of a sudden is the most hated thing to them. They can't stand the sound of music, for example,
they can't stand alcohol, for example, they can't stand the smell of it, for example, the house that it's the same nose, it's the same air, what's changed the hot change, right. And this again, should teach us how important is Heart Is that the same year that loved music only loved music, not because of some element of the air rather, it was because of the heart. Right that love to listen to it. When the heart was given guidance, and it changed. It gave way to the entire body changing so panoro be alive. Absolutely amazing, the hottest, and the ceram idea brothers and sisters really revise this heart because it allows us to come in touch, or into touch with the here after amidst chaos of
the world, the life that we live in. So we wake up in the morning, it's all about breakfast and then work and we slogging it at work. And then there's traffic on the way to work. And then back from work, there's chores and errands that we have to run, and those errands are all specific to the life that we live in. And it's all about this world, world, world world world. And we have five times daily Salawat that forces us to take a break from the world and enter into the sphere of the hereafter. Right? So we enter into the sphere of the of the year after and we say or we start off by saying Allahu Akbar, and Allahu Akbar means Allah is greater. Allah is greater the correct
translation of Allahu Akbar is Allah is greater. Many translations say Allah is the Greatest Yes, Allah is the Greatest, but the translation of Allahu Akbar is Allah is greater. Now someone might ask that why would we start off the prayer by saying Allah is greater, greater? Well, there is great wisdom in that and that is that when we start the prayer, we saying Allah is greater than the work that I've been doing for the past few hours. Then the errands I have to run or I did run before answering the phone
is greater than the bills I have to pay
is greater than the food I have to put on the table is greater than the obligations I have to my family is greater than the monotonous life that I have in this world. Allah is greater and more deserving. So I'm putting all this aside, and I'm entering into the presence of God Almighty. And immediately you feel peace, and you feel contentment, and you feel replenishment of this heart, you feel an eternal peace. And I promise you that this is the reality of feeding the soul. Because you asked the rich man, the man who has been given the greatest financial standing, and the material well being to give his he has billions sitting with him.
But ask him why he can't sleep at night. Ask him why he has high levels of stress. Ask him why he can't pay even a billion to get one second more, to live one second longer. So halala he can't do that. Right? And that's because money cannot buy up money can Mike do a justice to a portion of happiness, a very minute portion of happiness, but it can never be the real deal. Money can never buy you happiness, it can't, it has no way of feeding the soul. Right? And that is why we have this amazing seller in his amazing presence. And in his amazing context and timetable that really makes us spiritual beings, which makes us become considered as real human beings. When we have a balance
in our day, we have peace in our hearts, our heart is fed, our soul is fed as well as our bodies. So when we stand in Salah, we say Allahu Akbar, we say Allah Akbar, Allah is greater. So in effect, when we observe Salah, we are training our hearts against that which this world headed by our desires, right, causes our bodies to because it trains us against that. it humanizes us, after we are dehumanised if I can use that particular term. So this is really a real amazing point that that really can resonate with each and every one of us, right, because it's a practical point. And we all live in this world and we all have lived real life examples. This particular point can really make
teach us the importance of the Salah. So my dear brothers and sisters,
this fella assists us in reviving this particular heart. Now, another way that Salah revives our hearts is in the concept of it being a means towards putting an end to evil and immorality. This is what the Salah does, the Salah puts an end to evil and immorality. Now, it only can do that is if we observe the Salah with a present heart meaning when we enter the Salah, we are really in touch with ourselves in our prayer, our minds are bouncing around this world, right that's another problem. But we need another topic for that maybe we can name it the importance of serenity in our Salah. Right? That could be the topic inshallah for another day, the importance of
contentment and serenity in our Salah. But when we observe our Salah, the way it should observe them this Salah is a means of putting an end to evil and immorality and even an immorality, my dear brothers and sisters affects the heart. Because whenever one signal, then a.is placed over the heart a black dots, and the more they listen, then the more black dots cause to be placed on the heart. And as these black dots increase, then the light of guidance that this heart has teases to the south. And then the sins increase and more black dots come until a point when the light of guidance ceases to be seen. Right. And that's what we know people go through the stages, people don't just
become evil people overnight. They go through stages, they might have been good people, then they took on a few bad habits, but they didn't hide the ugly. Then they started doing those bad bad habits openly. And they didn't feel bad about that. Then they took on some more, some more some more until they just became outright bad people. And that's because the transcendence from from guidance to learn guidance happens in stages, it doesn't happen overnight because the Constitution of guidance. being removed from our lives also happens in stages based on the concept that I've just explained, which is that as we send these black dots affect our heart and when the light of guidance
is buried underneath these black dots, then you find the ear becoming something else and the mouth becoming something else the person can speak and be vulgar and it doesn't even matter and they can hear the most obscene words but it won't even matter to them and so on and so forth. The Salah helps you
I have the heart from the angle that it puts an end to alpha and alpha income, which is that which is immoral and disliked and Allah Subhana Allah says in his book in Surah, uncovered in the Salah to tell her I didn't even write in the chapter of a spider alarm Kabuto Allah subhanho wa Taala says that indeed, Farah puts an end to everything which is immoral, and everything which is disliked, which God Almighty dislikes. So this is a great, great great benefit from observing our Salawat which teaches us how important the Salah is in our lives. So replenishing the heart of is of utmost importance, and the Salah helps us become replenished and helps the heart against hardening, which
keeps us sensitized human beings. Those who stand a great chance of benefit in the hereafter ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to forgive us for our mistakes, and to continuously forgive us should we earn and to guide us towards being upright human beings indeed, God Almighty is upon all Eva. I mean, I just before ending my dear brothers and sisters, we spoke about a drop in the ocean of the metaphysical benefits of Salah, but there are physical benefits, the physical benefits, okay? in observing the prayer, things that we can take out, firsthand, from the Salah that we observe if we ponder and deliberate, right because we are human beings and we are Muslims and thus, we should be
human beings of substance. Substance means we're not shallow people, right? We don't just do things without contemplation, we really and truly contemplate over the Salah. We find that it teaches us many, many physical attributes from them first and foremost is cleanliness is cleanliness. We discussed the metaphysical cleanliness, but let's look at the physical cleanliness, right? Because to observe Salah, one has to observe the ablution Alhamdulillah, right. And we wash ourselves that many times in a day that we attain physical cleanliness. And by observing Salah we attain spiritual cleanliness as well in that our sins are forgiven, right? We know that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam told us that the minor sins that might occur between the prayers are forgiven from prayer to prayer to Allah, what a great blessing from Allah subhanho wa Taala. So it teaches us cleanliness, I wonder how many of us took that as a lesson. And for those leadership trainers out there, you might want to be jotting these points down, okay. So now also teaches us the importance of a timetable and time management, because the follower have been placed at fixed and prescribed times, at fixed and prescribed times. They have to be observed in these times. It's not when I'm free when I finished playing when I finished working, so on and so forth. No, it's a fixed and
prescribed time that this teaches us the concept of time management, and how to look after our time, and how to plan our day around our prayer table, which teaches us the importance of a timetable. Right? So this is pretty amazing, right? So it teaches us time management. We also learn from Salah, the importance of unity. And this is manifest in the prayer in congregation in the masjid, right. In the place of prayer. It teaches us the importance of unity that strangers come together and stand together irrespective of how rich or poor they are. You can have the poorest person standing next to the richest person, but they stand the same and they observe the same actions. So it teaches us
unity, that we are united. And it brings together the different segments of society, the upper class and the lower class and the middle class, and so on and so forth. It's absolutely amazing. So it teaches us the importance of unity brings us together five times a day, and makes us overlook our colors, our race, our languages, our backgrounds, our financial standings, and so on and so forth. Right? It allows us to overlook all of this from the law. Right? And this is great training for ourselves. It also teaches us to be humble, because as I said, the rich person stands next to the poor person, nobody can say no, I need to stand that this part of the of the line on that part of
the line? Absolutely not. Absolutely not. In fact, you could have a case where the poorest of the poorest is the leader in the prayer of the rich people behind him. So Panama, right? How amazing is that? But we need to ponder and contemplate these things. So we really appreciate the reality of what we're doing. Also, we learn from the Salah how to be a leader, because the leader leads the Imam stands in front of the rest of the congregation. And everybody is commanded to follow the leader. So the leader has to lead at this qualities to be an Imam, and conditions and so on and so forth, which teaches us the essence and elements of being a leader. And in the same breath. It
teaches us how to be a good team player and follower. It teaches us because in the prayer, we're not allowed to do any action before
What the leader does it before the leader bows we're not allowed to bow and so on and so forth. Right? So this teaches us how to be a good team player and, and a follower. And in terms of being a team player, that's because we all do things in sync. Absolutely amazing, isn't it? that everybody is in sync. Everybody is in, in sync in the prayer. When the man bows down, everybody bows down together and stands up together and prostrates together and so on and so forth. Everybody's in sync. The other thing he teaches us, my dear brothers and sisters, if we think about Salah is it teaches us when to speak, that we shouldn't be people who just blabber out every time and anytime, right? We
know how to listen. And we know how to speak when the Imam is reciting. We listen. We pay attention, we don't speak. And then a time comes when we are permitted to say, mean, and we speak. Right? So there's a time for speaking and there's a time for listening. And it teaches us that we should listen more than we speak. Because how much do we speak in Salah in comparison to how many times we listen, right? So Isn't that amazing? And we always get told that we have two ears and one mouth means we should listen more and speak less. So even in the cellar, we are taught how to listen more and how to speak less and that even when the Imam is reciting we are not commanded just to be silent
other we are commanded to be silent and to pay attention. So hon Allah to be silent and to pay attention. Absolutely amazing. Allahu
Allah subhanho wa Taala is so great. Okay, so we learn all these things from from from Salah, we also learn my dear brothers and sisters, the importance of being diverse in our daily activities, that we shouldn't just do one thing, the same way for so long, like we sit for so long, or we sleep for so long, or we stand for so long. Because in Salah, we have moments where we stand, and then we have a change in posture, we worship Allah through the bowing. And then we worship Allah through prostration. Right? Is that just a standing worship, for example. So it teaches us in our daily lives, how to be diverse in our applications as well. Right? The Salah also teaches us how to take
breaks, we should take a break in our lives, in our daily lives and in our activities. Right How? Well the orlimar explained that he is standing after the bowing. Just before we prostrate there's a short period where we stand, that standing is a standing of rest.
And then we prostrate. And then we sit up for a little while and prostate again, that sitting between the two prostrations is a period of rest as well, La ilaha illAllah, La ilaha illa Allah, so we learned the importance of resting as well as the complete balance, right? And we take it further, then this Salah also teaches us the importance of the Islamic greeting and how to greet people we know and people we don't know, and so on and so forth. Because the Salah ends with the Islamic greeting where we greet to our right and we articulate the greeting whilst turning our heads towards the left. These are some of the points I wanted to share with you all I have a message from our
admin, that our time has suddenly come to an end. I pray that Allah subhanho wa Taala makes everything said beneficial, something that we can take on and teach to others.
