As it was a sunnah of the prophet

00:00:01 --> 00:00:03

salallahu alaihi wasallam, I would just like to

00:00:03 --> 00:00:05

take a minute or 2

00:00:05 --> 00:00:08

to address my my sisters in Islam. My

00:00:08 --> 00:00:08

dear sisters,

00:00:09 --> 00:00:09

as

00:00:10 --> 00:00:10

Allahu

00:00:11 --> 00:00:11

tests

00:00:12 --> 00:00:13

us and tries us and as we hold

00:00:13 --> 00:00:14

on to our iman,

00:00:15 --> 00:00:17

likewise, my sisters, Allahu

00:00:18 --> 00:00:21

will test you and try you. But Allah

00:00:22 --> 00:00:25

has honored you my dear sister in Islam.

00:00:25 --> 00:00:26

You know, we hear

00:00:27 --> 00:00:29

of the wife of Imran mentioned in the

00:00:29 --> 00:00:29

Quran

00:00:30 --> 00:00:33

and that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us

00:00:33 --> 00:00:35

that she had vowed that her child in

00:00:35 --> 00:00:36

her womb

00:00:36 --> 00:00:37

would worship Allah.

00:00:38 --> 00:00:39

And so when she made this vow,

00:00:40 --> 00:00:42

she assumed that Allah will grant her a

00:00:42 --> 00:00:43

boy, a male child.

00:00:44 --> 00:00:45

But when she gave birth,

00:00:46 --> 00:00:49

she gave birth to a female. Allahu, Subhanahu

00:00:49 --> 00:00:50

Wa Ta'ala, tells us,

00:00:54 --> 00:00:56

When she gave birth, she said, my lord,

00:00:56 --> 00:00:58

I have given birth to a female.

00:01:00 --> 00:01:00

Meaning what?

00:01:01 --> 00:01:04

Meaning even though her expectation was a male,

00:01:04 --> 00:01:07

Allahu, subhanahu wa ta'ala, gave her a female.

00:01:07 --> 00:01:08

Now, did she say why?

00:01:09 --> 00:01:10

Did she say, no, I wish I had

00:01:10 --> 00:01:12

a male? No. She

00:01:15 --> 00:01:16

said, or in one recitation,

00:01:19 --> 00:01:20

that Allah is most aware

00:01:21 --> 00:01:23

of what I have given birth to, meaning

00:01:23 --> 00:01:26

this happened by the divine decree of Allah

00:01:27 --> 00:01:29

There is wisdom in Allah that my child

00:01:29 --> 00:01:31

was not born a male, my child was

00:01:31 --> 00:01:32

born a female.

00:01:32 --> 00:01:35

And then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala reminds us

00:01:38 --> 00:01:40

that a male is not like a female.

00:01:40 --> 00:01:41

What is the message here?

00:01:42 --> 00:01:44

The message here is that Allahu

00:01:44 --> 00:01:47

my dear sister has made you a female,

00:01:47 --> 00:01:48

and the female

00:01:49 --> 00:01:51

has a has an honour

00:01:51 --> 00:01:53

and a way of worshipping Allahu

00:01:54 --> 00:01:56

that men do not. This is why we

00:01:56 --> 00:01:59

find who was this daughter that was born

00:01:59 --> 00:02:01

to the wife of Imran, it was none

00:02:01 --> 00:02:02

other than Mariam

00:02:05 --> 00:02:06

She says, I have named her Mariam. And

00:02:06 --> 00:02:07

today, Mariam

00:02:09 --> 00:02:10

stands as an example

00:02:10 --> 00:02:13

for all women across the world, even non

00:02:13 --> 00:02:14

Muslims recognize

00:02:14 --> 00:02:16

Maryam alayhis salam.

00:02:16 --> 00:02:19

My dear sisters, yes, your challenges may be

00:02:19 --> 00:02:20

different and yes,

00:02:20 --> 00:02:22

women and men have a lot in common,

00:02:22 --> 00:02:24

but we are not the same. We are

00:02:24 --> 00:02:25

equal with Allahu

00:02:26 --> 00:02:28

but we are not the same. We have

00:02:28 --> 00:02:30

many differences, and you will find people telling

00:02:30 --> 00:02:30

you

00:02:31 --> 00:02:33

that differences make you bad.

00:02:33 --> 00:02:35

But our deen teaches us that Allah has

00:02:35 --> 00:02:38

made us different so that we may strengthen

00:02:38 --> 00:02:39

one another

00:02:39 --> 00:02:42

The way you, my sister, can worship Allah

00:02:42 --> 00:02:44

and submit to Allah and sacrifice for Allah

00:02:44 --> 00:02:46

is different than the way I can submit

00:02:46 --> 00:02:49

and sacrifice to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. But

00:02:49 --> 00:02:50

it is only when we come together.

00:02:51 --> 00:02:53

It is only when we uplift one another.

00:02:53 --> 00:02:55

When the men uplift the women and the

00:02:55 --> 00:02:58

women uplift the men that our ummah becomes

00:02:58 --> 00:02:58

strong.

00:02:58 --> 00:02:59

Who is persevering

00:03:00 --> 00:03:03

in Gaza? Is it just the men? Or

00:03:03 --> 00:03:05

is it our dear sisters who are holding

00:03:05 --> 00:03:06

the fort?

00:03:06 --> 00:03:09

Our sisters and our brothers working together. Allahu,

00:03:09 --> 00:03:10

subhanahu wa ta'ala, says,

00:03:15 --> 00:03:15

that the believing

00:03:16 --> 00:03:19

men and the believing women, they are allies

00:03:19 --> 00:03:20

and protectors of one another.

00:03:21 --> 00:03:22

That is the strength of our ummah, my

00:03:22 --> 00:03:24

dear sisters, and this message is from our

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27

brothers as well. That as we look at

00:03:27 --> 00:03:27

our ummah

00:03:28 --> 00:03:30

being divided, we have to stand together.

00:03:30 --> 00:03:32

We have to be there to support one

00:03:32 --> 00:03:35

another, and our differences is what makes us

00:03:35 --> 00:03:36

great.
