Channel: Omar Suleiman
In Episode #10 respected Imam Omar Suleiman teaches us what to do when we are faced with insults against the prophet s.a.w.
To defend the prophet s.a.w. is one of the most beautiful acts. Jibri’il a.s. once asked the prophet s.a.w. about the position of the sahabahs who fought in the battle of Badr. Prophet said they are the best of us. Jibr’il a.s. responded the angels who fought in the battle of Badr are also the best of us.
Can you then imagine the reward of a person who defends the prophet s.a.w. intelligently and intellectually? The answer lies within this brief talk of our beloved Imam.

No person who loves a lot in the messenger sallallahu wasallam can be completely unaffected by the insults towards the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam by the way that the prophets ISIS has been drawn, ridiculed, portrayed, particularly in the western image to look like what the Muslim men is being molded to be barbaric, angry, regressive violence. And so the idea is that our Prophet Alayhi, salaatu wa Salaam is this way, and therefore all Muslims are like that, especially the Muslim men. And the way we're going to prove it is by insulting the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and causing people to come out with their emotion to respond in a way that allows them to submit to the
very image that they've cast on the Prophet sallallahu it was.
And so you find yourself in this predicament as someone who loves a little less aloha Islam, who loves the messenger slice on them, that when he's being insulted, your raw emotion tells you to respond in a certain way. But at the same time, you want to defend the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam while being like the prophets lie Selim and defending him, right, you don't want to defend him in a way to where you might make the substantive arguments that are needed to be made to cast away those suspicions, or those those aspersions that have been cast upon him Salallahu Islam, but you also don't want to give them the image because that's what they're trying to do is portray him
in a certain way. Now, I want you to think about this with the previous Hadeeth. If defending your brother in his absence, is that rewardable? What then is the reward of defending the profit slice element, his absence, right? What good is it then when a person defends the Prophet, slice alum and does something that would actually cause him to be further insult? So we have to think about this in a holistic way. Number one, to defend the prophets lie Selim is of the most beautiful acts of worship, and one that the angels cling towards. And that's why the angels of bed that are so special, because they were with those special companions that defended the Prophet slice them
physically, when no one else would. And Jabra has said I'm asked the Prophet, slice Allah, how do you view the veterans of bed that amongst you, meaning human beings and the prophets license that they're the best of us, and God in it, his salon responded, that the melodica the angels who served on that day of bed that are also considered the best of us, meaning you have the veterans have benefited from the Sahaba, from the companions, the human companions, and the veterans of bed that from the angels that served Allah and His Messenger slice on that protected him in the midst of all of the turmoil when very few people would you also have someone who defended the honor of the
Prophet sly sound like Hassan and the Sabbath or the Allahu taala. And, and his side of the Sabbath was a poet, and he was sent by the enemies of the Prophet slice of them to insult him to lampoon him and instead when he saw the Prophet slice alone, he could say nothing but words of beauty about his appearance and his character and who he was and he ended up becoming a Muslim and responding to the enemies of the prophets. I saw them on his behalf and Hassan was so talented that they built a men but they built a pulpit for him in the message of the prophets lie some that he would stand up and he would respond on behalf of the profit slice and um, since the profit slice on would not respond
on his own behalf to insult and when he would do that the profit slice on looked at him in a certain way, and on more than one occasion, the prophets lie Selim said that gibreel at his salon is with his son, not any Angel. gibreel is with Hassan, so long as he defends the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he would even tell him Oh, God, mushrikeen fitna, jabril, amok, go ahead and lampoon them because jabril is with you respond to them. gibreel is with you. Some of the scholars connected that to the verse insert that hashtag where a lot talks about the believers who love the Prophet slicin more than themselves, what other way other home bureau had been, and Allah subhanaw taala supports
them with a spirit from him. The majority of the scholar said roshen Minh refers to the spirit of the power of Allah subhana wa nobrow hell, kudos being Jubilee, rally Islam, the Holy Spirit, but some of the scholars said that it could possibly mean that as well that when a person defends the prophets lie Selim, not just any Angel would come and support them, but maybe to bleed it his Salaam as well because that's what caused gibreel to come in the life of Hassan of metabones, or the Allahu taala. And so again, if defending your brother, in his absence, with his honor, causes an angel to defend you and protect you. What then, does that mean when we defend the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wasallam intelligently, intellectually, emotionally without becoming who they want us to become, and demonstrating in the process of defending the Prophet slice alum, the character of the Prophet slice of them even in that defense so that we don't submit to that horrific image that they've painted of himself.
