And I know that when you listen to that, and you hear that title, all of us could relate to that in a very personal way. My name is Muslim Khan. And what we're going to do today in sha Allah huhtala is we're going to talk to you about how we live with the sense of hope. Whenever we are faced with trials, hardship, and pain, hope is the thing that keeps us alive. It's the thing that keeps us going, makes us feel like there's always light at the end of the tunnel. And so in the quarter end, at least from an Islamic perspective, there are tons of examples

of how prophets and messengers and generations of the past how they coped with this sense of hope, that when they were put in the most difficult, unreal, unimaginable circumstances, they still persevered, they were still able to overcome the challenges that they faced. But how did they do that? Was it something personal? Was it something that only prophets and messengers had that you and I we can't have? So what I want to do in sha Allah huhtala is jumped straight into the story, one of the greatest prophets ever, the Prophet Musa alayhis salam, I want you to just think for a moment very briefly of what his life was and what his story is. Taala, after Musa alayhis salam accidentally took the life of someone, and he was afraid he didn't intend to do that. As a matter of fact, he intervened when somebody an oppressor was oppressing and torturing someone else. And he couldn't see that. So he intervened, and he accidentally took the life of the oppressor. So he ran away, and he ran away by himself and was confused, lost and alone. And at some point, Allah subhanho wa Taala says to Musa alayhis salaam is lfu around in the hotel Hall, go back to fit around who is the leader who was the tyrant at that time, and at the same token, who claimed that he was God himself, so he was the most powerful human being at that time.

And so musala his salon, he has no power, he has no authority. He's just a slave. He's got no army, he's got no resources, no strength, no money, nothing. Now he's being told by Allah subhanho wa Taala gold

Back to the most powerful human being at that time and confront him. And oh, by the way, say to his face that he's a tyrant in the hotel Hall. Now just imagine this predicament at this moment for musala Islam. If you were in his shoes, what would you do? How would you cope with that? Now, when you're confronted with that, what's your initial reaction? How do you embrace that, especially when you

have no choice? For a lot of people, they take it as it comes. And they literally convinced themselves and they say things like, I don't know what the outcome is going to be. I don't know how I'm going to handle things, but I'm just gonna get through it and see what happens. For others, we like to pre plan things, okay, this is my situation, here's what I need to do in order to get certain things done. And then there are others that are lost, confused, even scared, and Musa alayhis salam, he was scared, as a matter of fact, in the corner, and he even tells Allah subhanho wa Taala, that he's scared for a half a year to learn. I'm afraid if I confront the people in Egypt,

the followers of fear around that they're going to kill me as a result of this crime that I've committed, they're going to look after me, they're gonna take me and even they may campaign against me and magnify and create a totally different story than what really happened. So he even says in another part of the quarter and a half where you cut the bone, I'm afraid that they're going to tell lies about me. So so many things are going against Musa alayhis salam, but still alive. So Adele tells him go to fit around, he's a tyrant. So here's the first lesson my brothers and sisters, whenever we are faced with any kind of tragedy or hardship, we must find strength to confront that

pain or hardship, we have to confront it. And we've been seeing this on the news with this COVID outbreak that a lot of the leaders, politicians and so

So Musa alayhis salam is getting the same instruction from Allah subhanho wa Taala. And he says, No, no, I need you to go and confront him. And that's really important because at the end of the day, we all live together on this planet. Why? Because we need each other for survival. And so this area, amongst many other stories tell us that we can't solve everything on our own. Even the greatest prophet, one of the greatest prophets mentioned in the poor and Mussolini's selam. teachings of Allah subhana wa Tada, this is the third lesson. third lesson is, we will never be able to find true success and hope in anything in our life. And if you feel like you need that, go and get it, sit down with a professional sit down with a doctor, a psychiatrist, what have you, and get advice and direction from them. But part of that journey, Allah subhanho wa Taala has to be there with you. And so Musa alayhis salam it, Allah tells him you and your brother, take my

faith, have that be a Tina, take our signs, take our instructions, take the poor and take all of this with you when you confront the most difficult and powerful human being at that time. And listen to the reassurance Allah subhanho wa Taala gives Moosa and his brother

And then you say to them, yeah, you don't get it. You don't understand how I feel. You don't really know what's in my home. You don't know when nighttime comes how much I cry.

So in other words, they don't get truly what your problem is, what's your struggle is, this a is saying to you and I in reminding us, Allah subhanho wa Taala is always here to listen and understand your problem better than you do. So don't forget him. Don't stop turning to him. This is all happening before Musa alayhis salaam even confronts fear around. This is just a lot encouraging him giving him simple instructions, but giving him reassurance you're not going to be there alone. So my brothers and sisters in the midst of this plague, we're not alone. It might seem that way. We're not going to work the way we used to. We're not going to school, we're not able to visit families, we're

not able to spend time with one another as long as we used to say, Okay, what Allah subhanho wa Taala is saying, I know what I'm doing. I'm with you, and I'm listening to everything. I'm monitoring everything for you. Don't forget about me. So then the AI continues. And here's the last verse that I want to share with you to filter out for Pula in the Surah bailarina mean. It means that if one person is telling you to do a, you can't have seven other people telling you to do B, C, D, and F, because what's going to happen, you're going to get confused, you're going to lose direction all over again. It's it sounds like when we say to one another, I've talked to so many people, but I'm so confused, I still don't know what to do. So the fact that Allah tells Musa alayhis salam and his brother I want both of you to go to fit around, and both of you to say this shows that they have to be unified. So whatever advice and support you get my brothers and sisters during these difficult

times, just ensure that it's consistent that it's something you can actually understand and work with, so that you can get forward that you can get over the pain and the struggle. Musa alayhis, Salam in his brother, they're told to say to fit our own and his people. We are in Rasulullah, Villa alameen, we are the messengers of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So what has happened here, when all is said and done, our brothers and sisters, everything that we do to find peace, strength, security, cure medicine, at the end of the day, never forget who we are, we are truly slaves of our Creator. And in times like this, this is how Allah subhanho wa Taala reinforces our faith, to rely on him to trust him. Because at the end of the day, he is a little boy, I mean, he's the master. He is the Sustainer. He's the guardian of all

of mankind.

At some point, as we see today, we will have medicines, antibiotics, we can have different ways to cure different things. This is a stark reminder for you and I, that there will come a time where you won't find that cure. And that cure will ultimately be left with Allah subhanho wa Taala. And the only way that we can discover that cure, discover that relief is turned back to him. And so this is what the story is all about. That at the end of the day, Musa alayhis salam and his brother found hope, strength, security, stability, that they relied on lies, so a gel for everything. that's enough. And so with that being said, we pray that Allah subhanho wa Taala stay by our side through these difficult times. You can't even tell your children. You can't even tell your parents it's just with you. And you're going through this pain and it's eating away at you day after day after day. May Allah subhanho wa Taala keep you close to him heal you and give you the security and peace that you all need and deserve inshallah Tada. So May Allah and soldier bless us, give us
