Channel: Mufti Menk
Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu My beloved brothers and sisters, I am very, very saddened by what has happened in Beirut in Lebanon. Not to say that I'm not saddened by what's going on in other places on earth. But this was unprecedented. This was Subhanallah a blast that in my almost 50 years of my life, I promise you, it has been so, so huge. I cannot remember ever witnessing something like this. As soon as I saw these videos and images on that day, I couldn't believe that this happened. And obviously we didn't know exactly what was going on. And I have so many Lebanese friends so many in their 1000s across the globe in Australia, I've met so many
Lebanese and I know for a fact that Subhana Allah, they would be having family members and there are so many people within Beirut. I've got people in Canada, in Ghana, so many people from
all over the world who are originally Lebanese, they are Lebanese and SubhanAllah. Horrible. I mean, I was just shocked. I was just shocked. But we say in the law here we're in LA Hara Joan indeed we belong to Allah. And ultimately we return we will all be returning to Allah subhanho wa Taala we don't want to say anything that is displeasing to Allah subhanho wa Taala my brothers and sisters, it was just so devastating. Nearly everyone in Beirut is affected so many have perished. perished meaning not just lost their lives but there is no trace of them Subhanallah that's how big it was. And we don't know what exactly has happened there are still investigations the primary statements
said by some of those in authority was that it was the negligence of some were 2750 tons of ammonium nitrate was being stored in a way that was not safe. And that is very very sad my brothers my sisters
it's our duty to reach out to these people. That doesn't mean we should never reach out or we should not have been reaching out to others who are struggling across the globe but this is the latest
I it's just shocking Subhanallah What should we reach out to them with the first thing is pray for them do our O Allah make it easy forgive those who perished random gem that will fit those wherever they are right now in Brazil, in you know in the afterlife, make it easy for them, have mercy on them, etc. That's number one. Number two, those who are affected injured, make it easy for them. Yeah, Allah grant them comfort be there for them. Yeah, Allah, you know, give them strength. They need the strength of Allah
They need the strength of Allah and we make dua for them, or cure them help them to recover. There are people who are injured who are taking care of others who are injured, depending on the degree of the injury. There are doctors there are nurses, medical staff. There are so many others who they were dealing with the Coronavirus, and now they're dealing with something beyond that as well. Imagine the people in Yemen imagine the people in so many other places our brothers, our sisters in Kashmir, those in Palestine, those in so many other countries, the list goes on. I cannot even mention all of them because there are just too many across the globe. We need to reach out to them.
Oh Allah make it easy. Oh Allah make it easy. Protect them, give them goodness, those who are sick and Ill grant and cure. Those who are homeless Grantham homes. Those who have
lost their loved ones make it easy for them. It's not a joke. My brothers and sisters, it's something serious.
So Subhanallah horrible and I mean
might be brothers, my sisters. We're supposed to be reaching out to them by providing them with some form of shelter. Something you know they can sleep at night. They could perhaps find a decent living you know, a decent place to spend the night some food, some warm, some blankets, perhaps mattresses, pillows, clothing, fresh water medication. That's the first things that come to mind. SubhanAllah
May Allah make it easy. So I know that there are charities who are working flat out to do that. And I know that there are people who have reached there, I have been a part of the effort with Abdullah aid UK to reach the people in Beirut, and we started our work on the ground already. And Alhamdulillah it's going very, very well. But no matter how much we do, trust me, the devastation is so big, it's worse than anything that we've witnessed. Even the man made wars have not seen such a magnitude of a blast. In my lifetime, Subhana Allah, and I think in the lifetimes of most of us.
So we're working. But
as much as we reach out to those who've been affected, and we want to help them, I must say that, sadly, there are some people who seize the opportunity of the need of others, to engage in fraud at the moment in the name of the Lord. That's why I entitled this fraud in the name of the Lord. Because some people are bogus, and they are collecting for their pockets. Be careful when you're donating. Make sure you know who you're donating to. They need to be a legitimate
organization, a legitimate foundation or legitimate people whom you know, you can trust. There are those who are trustworthy doing a lot of good work, we will not undermine them. But I want to tell you, please verify for a moment before you just donate because you see a name you might see the name Mufti mink, for example. And it might not be me make sure that it's me. I have Yes, I've gone against what I usually do, I usually don't get involved directly in fundraising, but Subhan Allah, I have promoted certain charities. We have human appeal Australia, we have Abdullah aid UK, and I've worked with them in the sense that I know what they're doing Abdullah at UK, and these guys are
doing tremendous work, but I was sad to come to learn about people who've created fan pages of Mufti menk. They've created other pages calling themselves Mufti menk, and whatever beat on Instagram or elsewhere, do not donate, when you don't know who it is, do a little bit of research. Whatever I have said, was through a legitimate charity, if you were to click on it, you would end up on the page of Abdullah ad UK, for example. So somehow, and Allah Be careful, my brothers and sisters, during these times, the last thing you want is to donate to the wrong cause. The last thing you want is to donate to a cause where your wealth is actually going to be taken by people fraudulently.
That's why I say fraud in the name of your Lord lo Akbar. May Allah safeguard us, my brothers and sisters, I pray that we can all reach out to those who are in need. I have had sleepless nights because of what has happened and because of what is happening. I think of my brothers and sisters in war zones. I think of my brothers and sisters in Beirut in Lebanon, and what their family members must be going through when they don't know whether their loved one is alive or not. And chances are they probably may not be if they haven't yet found them. But May Allah make it easy for everyone. We are here we are one huge human family. That's what we are. When it comes to that which affects
humanity. All of us are in it together. Look at the Coronavirus May Allah subhanho wa Taala make it easy for us. So I thought, let me spare a moment to speak about the issue of Lebanon. And the issue of fraud when it comes to some people collecting funds. Be careful, I encourage you to donate generously, indeed, but to those whom you know, or those who have been recommended directly by those whom you know, so I've told you, I would recommend Abdullah aid UK that's not the only organization you may know others personally, please make sure you donate make sure that you give. For example, human appeal Australia. The brothers in Australia that I've worked with are tremendous brothers and
sisters. They are doing a beautiful job. And Subhan Allah, I asked Allah to make it easy for one and all. And if we help those during their time of need, Allah will definitely be there for us in our time of need. inshallah, tomorrow, Friday, the E hookah will be on this topic, the topic of what's happened in Lebanon and how we should be helping. And I pray that we can benefit from that for now. I will just leave you by saying a kulu Kohli has
Hassan Allahu Allah Nabina Muhammad was Salam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
