The Real Meaning of Being Religious

And so Islam becomes just like how the Christians view Christianity and how other religions view their religion of what it means to be religious.

The second group are those

who believe

that being a religious person means

to have faith in your heart. But more than that,

to actually perform

some of the very fundamental and important aspects of the theme, such as praying five times a day

and performing the other Pillars of Islam. However, this group,

they say that because of the times that we're living in,

because of this society that we're living in,

that we can then do some of the rules of Islam.

Some of the very fundamental and basic rules of the deen we can bend them and there is room for flexibility

and this second group

based their understanding

on an attempt to

conform between Islam

and between Western

the third group are those

they are those who practice many of the fundamentals of the deen.

However, this is only outward.

And so they show the people that they are religious

by growing their beards by wearing certain clothing,

but yet they neglect and forget about many more important aspects of the deed.

And so you find some of these people

when they are secluded from the eyes of the people,

they don't care about the commands of the law and above is permission.

My dear brothers and sisters,

the reason why we have these very understanding

of what it means to be a religious Muslim is for many reasons.

But the main reason that we can

conclude

is that Firstly,

many Muslims are ignorant

of the deen of Allah Subhana. Who would deny that and what a loss of Hannah who would try to watch from us? They are ignorant of

the deen from its true sources, from the, from the Sunnah. And from the correct understanding of the Quran? And what is the correct understanding of the Quran and the Sunnah? It is the understanding that the prophet SAW the log where it was left behind with his companion,

and those who followed the companions of the Prophet sallallahu How do you ascend up until the last day,

among the reasons why

we have

these wrong understandings and perception of what it means to be religious, is because many Muslims suffice with the understanding of the deen that they were brought up with,

that their parents taught them, that their society

rallied to them.

And so even though true religiosity is for from what they understand, but because this is what they were taught about the deed, and about what it means to be religious, they accept it, and who accept anything else.

Among the reasons why many Muslims have the wrong understanding, and perception of what it means to be religious,

is because the environment that they live in.

And so those who live in these societies, these Western non Muslim societies that we live in, it is understandable that their customs and their practices and their understandings of religion will rub off on many Muslims who live in such an environment.

My dear brothers and sisters,

many of you are wondering, then what does it mean

to be a religious Muslim?

What does it mean to truly be religious?

From the Islamic perspective,

being religious from the Islamic perspective, is what the loss of Hannah who

They show their religious adherence overtly, and yet they have the worst of hearts.

that in the human body there is a piece of flesh.

And if this piece of flesh is rectified is clean, and is upright, then the rest of the body, it will remain clean and upright.

And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Allah,

indeed, it is the heart. And so if you want to claim to truly be religious, then you have to make sure that you have an upgraded heart. And so if you show that you're religious, but deep down inside, you have a corrupt heart, then know that you are not truly truly religious, and who are closer to being a hypocrite, then being a religious Muslim, my dear brothers and sisters,

true religiosity, and truly claiming to be religious.

It means that you have a heart

that is not attached to the duty.

It means that you have a heart that is content with what it has.

And so there are some siblings who claim to be religious. And yet, you find that they are not content with what they have of the dunya

you find their hearts attached to this dunya they see what the people have of luxury, and they want to see

some of them have this. They live a luxurious life. And yet they claim to be, they claim to be religious. You find them living in the most luxurious of homes, you find them driving the most luxurious car.

And so their hearts are attached to the dunya. This My dear brothers and sisters is a sign that one is not truly religious. And so many Muslims claiming to be religious, they prefer the length of history

over the life of the athlete,

they prefer to follow the whims and desires of their egos and they're nuts. over what a loss of Hannah with added desires, and what a loss of Hannah, who went ahead and look

true religiosity

and truly being religious mean.

Among the things that it means it means having a religious

and ideological sense of belonging,

loyalty, allegiance

to Allah subhanho wa Taala to the messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and to the Lord.

It means rejection of all religions, ideologies, concepts that undermine the authority of Allah, His Messenger and the entire room.

There are many Muslims out there

who do not have this sense of belonging and allegiance in their hearts, and yet they claim to be religious Muslims.

They accept

ideas, ideologies and concepts

that run in direct opposition

to the law of a loss of Hannah who without accepting such ideologies as secularism, liberalism, etc, claiming that these ideologies do not oppose do not oppose the very fundamentals of Islam. My dear brothers and sisters,

true religiosity

truly being religious, among the things that it means is, that one follows the deen of Allah Subhana, who would data in its entirety?

Not taking certain aspects, and neglecting other aspects for a loss of Hannah, who would that has commanded us

my dear brothers and sisters, I conclude with perhaps the most important aspect of truly, really, truly being religious.

And that is that a person

who claim to be religious
