Ramadan is over and many ask, What next? The following are a few important pieces of advice to keep in mind for after Ramadan.

We had to fast because fasting is a pillar of Islam.

But we also prayed Salatu tarawih pmla we gave more in terms of our sadhaka than we would outside of the motto Ramadan.

We recited the Quran

in the month of Ramadan after having abandoned it

after dust had covered it

over the rest of the month of the year.

And so we turn to Allah subhanahu wa tada with clear with clean hearts.

And we did a lot of good the month of Ramadan came to an end.

And now we ask what next? There is no better piece of advice that I could give or that anyone could ever give to you.

With regards to after Ramadan, then to continue in that good to continue and persist in that good that you became used to. And that's because Allah subhanho wa Taala in the Quran whenever he mentioned the believers.

For example, Allah subhanho wa Taala says God could mean

and then Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions there are many characteristics, but the mean Allah, Allah team hace rune

It means that what Allah subhanahu wa tada wants from us,

And as a prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,

a humble family in a law he

the most beloved

Those that are great, going for Hajj?

sacrificing for the sake of Allah going for Jihad? No. A humble family Elahi dwama

the most beloved of deeds and acts to Allah subhanho wa Taala which ones are they? Those that are continuous.

Those that we persistently do

on a continuous basis, and Professor Sallam said, What if,

even if they are small, even if they are insignificant in the eyes of the people

and so continue after the motto Ramadan.

Continue fasting. Who said that fasting

should be restricted to the month of Ramadan? Yes, it is obligatory in the month of Ramadan.

But we gain a lot of reward for fasting

Outside of the month of Ramadan,

at certain times of the year,

who said that pm lady should be restricted to the month of Ramadan. For some, it was only restricted to the last 10 days. For some it was only restricted to the 27th night. But the reality is that the prophet SAW Selim said, off de la sala teabagger mokuba, clear solidly, that the best Allah after

the obligatory Salah is which one, so latterly the night for the night prayer.

And so we should continue, continue being generous, continue reciting the Quran. For many people, they put the Quran back onto the shelf after the month of Ramadan.

When do they come back to it

after a year

when somebody dies on certain occasions

and the reality is that this is abandonment of the Quran that Allah has warned from and that the prophecy sort of has worn off.

And so abandoning the Quran is of two types,

abandoning its reputation and this is the kind that we're talking about. And the second kind abandoning

implementing the Quran in our lives.

And so, the point is, that there is no better piece of advice that can be given

for you regarding after Ramadan then to continue in the good that you had started in the month of Ramadan.

That's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he said,

mon sama Sita mon sama Seaton minchah mon sama Ramadan

the prophets of Salaam said that

the one who fasts the month of Ramadan, then he follows that up with fasting six days of show while

it is as if he has fasted

the entire year or as if he has fasted a lifetime

00:07:23--> 00:07:25

as if he has facet a lifetime.

How is that? In other narrations we have different wordings and basically what the scholars say is

first of all, show well is the month that comes after Ramadan we are currently in the month of chawan.

Now fasting the motto Ramadan, an entire month.

Allah subhana wa tada has told us in the Quran

and the Prophet also has also mentioned that for every good deed that we do,

our reward is multiplied how many times

10 times our reward that we are given for one good deed is multiplied by 10 times.

An example as a process Allah mentioned reciting the Quran

for each herb that we recite we get

10 rewards, we get 10 rewards. So for each good deed that we do, we get 10 rewards.

So how much reward should you have

Yeah, so what we did is we said for Ramadan, this is 10 months. Let's put this to the side. Now we're talking about fasting six days of Shabbat.

So what do we get for six days of Chahal?

Two months? Two plus 10 is

Yeah, the 10 is for the month of Ramadan. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said mana

sama Ramadan, whoever fasts Ramadan, then follows it up with six days of show, well, then he gets the reward of fasting an entire lifetime.

So 10 months, or the month Ramadan equals 10 months.

Now we add to that six days of chawan. Six days multiply by 10 gives us 60 days or two months.

We add that to the 10 months, and we get 12 How many do we get 1212 months? And that's why in another narration, the prophet also explained it in this way. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam What did he say?

He said

siyam Lucia hurry Ramadan. The ashati ashore

He mentioned makes explicit terms, whoever fast the month of Ramadan, it is equal to 10 months. And then whoever fast six days of chawan then that is two months. And this is how he has fasted an entire year.

And so the point here is for us to be continuous, whatever deeds that we did in the month of Ramadan to continue it.

Why because of the rewards that are involved in that if you want to keep your Eman high after the month of Ramadan, then continue in the good that you started in the month of Ramadan. I guarantee you that your Eman will remain strong. Why is it that many people complain of weak Eman after the month of Ramadan.

They say in the month of Ramadan. Our hearts were very soft.

The Imam used to recite

00:11:54--> 00:11:55

and we used to cry.

Our hearts were very soft to the poor, the needy we used to give in a lot of cards. The month of Ramadan came and went.

And now here we are after Ramadan.

Our hearts are not the same. Yet the Imam is the same Imam. The Quran is the same Quran that is being recited.

Our wealth is the same perhaps even more than it was in the month of Ramadan. Yet we don't give why what's the reason for that? The reason is because we turn back after the month of Ramadan.

The more you give to a loss of Hannah who added the more Allah will give to you. This is a cylinder of a loss of Hannah who attacked it in his creation.

This is a lesson This is a last deal with you. The more you get to Allah subhanho wa Taala the more Allah will give to you. The more you obey Allah, the more Eman Allah will give you to charge yourself up with.

And so what is it like? It's like a tug of war

it's like a tug of war

the month of Ramadan who give many many hours of your day

in the worship of Allah outside of the month of Ramadan, let's say you only give an hour, two hours of your time to a bad

so what do you expect?

How can you expect your email not to go down?

So like I said, What is it like it's like a tug of war. If you have 24 people

and you have let's say 23 on one side and one on the other, who's gonna win

and so this is our situation after the month of Ramadan.

The after the month of Ramadan, we only give to allow one hour of our day or two hours or three hours and then we complain

of our week.

And then we complain of our week.

And so like I said there is no better piece of advice that I could give or that anyone can give to you.

after Ramadan then to keep up what you have started in the month of Ramadan.

And there's one very very important point to remember here.

And that is Allah subhanho wa Taala says in Surah medacta

while our term non destructive

when our time noon,

just sector.

Basically what this means is don't consider your deeds and what you do as a favor to Allah subhanho wa Taala

don't think that what you're doing is a favor to Allah subhanho wa Taala that you are giving

00:15:00--> 00:15:04

Back to Allah subhanho wa Taala. So you're doing a favor to Allah.

And so the people, they will not enter agenda.

Because of their deeds, this is something very, very important for us to realize, in the motto, Ramadan, and after the motto, Ramadan, that when we're, you know, doing many, many good deeds don't think

that these good deeds are a favor that we are giving to a loss of Hannah who with Allah, and also don't think that you're going to enter agenda because of your good deeds.

Or that you know, these good deeds

00:15:43--> 00:15:44

were

what you put forth, and as a result, Allah gave you agenda.

What we mean by that is

00:15:55--> 00:15:56

the entering gender

00:15:57--> 00:16:03

is not because of this rather, it is because of the favor of Allah subhana wa, Tada.

00:16:04--> 00:16:11

Allah favored you and chose you among all of mankind, that he would enter you into gender.

00:16:12--> 00:16:22

And so you entering into gender is not because of the many, many good deeds that you did, but rather, because of the favor of a lot of parties, nothing else, the deeds,

or the result.

00:16:27--> 00:16:28

The end result

of you entering gender, they are the means by which you enter gender,

00:16:35--> 00:16:40

but not the very essence of the reason why a lot introduced into gender.

And this is something that many, many people forget. And so they do a lot of good deeds in the month of Ramadan, thinking that, you know, that's it, I'm going to gender.

And then they forget about the rest of the year.

00:16:54--> 00:17:06

And so as I said, the most important thing for us to remember after the month of Ramadan is to persist and continue the good that we have started in the month of Ramadan.

This brings us to another very, very important point.

And this is the sixth piece of advice.

And that is that our situation after the month of Ramadan

will never be like it was in the month of Ramadan. What I mean by that is that no matter what we do, no matter how much we try,

we won't get that feeling that we got in the month of Ramadan. Why? Because Allah has favored certain days of the year over others, certain months of the year, over others, certain places over others.

So even if we tried our best, and we did everything we can to continue, we won't get that same feeling. And this is something that we have to realize, don't think that you know, I'm going to continue, and I'm going to get that same feeling. And it's going to continue for the rest of the year. No, Allah has chosen the motto Ramadan, would certain virtues that he has not given to other months of the year. And so for example, the motto Ramadan is the month in which

the gates have general open the gates of Hellfire close, the shades of green are chained.

And so we feel this in the month of Ramadan, we will never be able to feel it outside of the month of Ramadan. So we have to remember this.

Try your best Yes, we're not saying give up hope. And you know, don't persist, don't continue. But keep this in your mind.

The after Ramadan is not going to be the same. It's not going to be that same feeling.

And it's the same like

it's the same like those who go and visit Mecca and Medina.

And they pray there in the harem and they get this different feeling that you cannot get anywhere else.

Even if you were to perform the same ibadat elsewhere, you won't get that same feeling Why? Because certain places Allah has made more virtuous and has blessed more than he has other places.

The next point

and piece of advice that I wanted to share

is

regarding those who entered into the month of Ramadan

with sins

with bad deeds,

00:19:50--> 00:19:57

and then they left the exited the month of Ramadan and returned back to those deeds. They returned back to those sin

00:20:00--> 00:20:03

And so, for those who are not blessed,

00:20:04--> 00:20:28

they took advantage of the month of Ramadan to stay away from certain sin, certain bad habits that they got used to, over time, due to various reasons, due to the inclinations of their knifes due to the temptations of shaitan due to their peers and their friends, due to the society they live in, etc.

But the month of Ramadan came and they made a very determined effort to stay away from the sin

00:20:37--> 00:20:41

they stayed away from the sins and Allah bless them to be from among those

00:20:43--> 00:20:50

who took advantage of the month and you know, they change themselves. But then after the month of Ramadan left,

00:20:52--> 00:20:55

they ended up returning to those same

00:20:56--> 00:21:03

they ended up returning to their old ways. We need to be where

00:21:04--> 00:21:09

we need to be extremely aware that you know we are not from Mongols

00:21:11--> 00:21:14

and the loss of Hannah who attalla has described to us

00:21:17--> 00:21:18

the state of demography,

00:21:19--> 00:21:20

the hypocrites

00:21:22--> 00:21:31

in the Quran, Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned them with so many different characteristics, so many different descriptions. Why What's the reason for that?

Because as Allah subhanahu wa tada said, Who moolah do

00:21:38--> 00:21:46

they are the true enemy, so be aware of them. And so Allah subhanahu wa tada has given us charming descriptions of them

so that we be aware that you know, we don't end up being among them.

00:21:53--> 00:21:57

And so one of the descriptions Allah subhanahu wa tada gives us of the monastic rule.

Allah subhanho wa Taala says, Why Elijah? Oh, come call Amanda. When they come to you. They say we believe they say what their mounts while in their hearts is nothing but Cooper.

These people they come

soon, they say we believe

Allah subhanho wa Taala says waka de Hulu they enter what Allah means by this is that they enter upon you Oh Mohammed, they come to your gatherings

Then even Kathy says

then they leave you

after having listened to what you had to say,

after having listened to the IR, the verses that were recited,

and they left with that same cover

the words entered from one ear and left the other.

And so they entered in the state of California and they left in a state of California.

So why am I mentioning this verse?

Because the danger is that those

who entered the month of Ramadan with certain sins,

if they leave after the month of Ramadan,

returning back to those sins, then it is feared

that they may end up being among these individuals

00:24:27--> 00:24:28

who have

00:24:30--> 00:24:31

nothing in their hearts.

00:24:32--> 00:24:36

They are hypocrites showing off to the people

00:24:39--> 00:24:46

that they don't commit certain sins. This is what they show the people in the month of Ramadan. But outside of the month of Ramadan, nobody knows

00:24:48--> 00:25:00

about their state of affairs. Why because they come only in the month of Ramadan. They come to the masjid and show their faces only in the month of Ramadan. So the people they look at them and they see that

Good state and think that you know these are good people. They don't know what goes on outside of them.

So this is the fear, my dear brothers and sisters, that

if you are among those who used to commit certain sins outside of the month of Ramadan, then when Ramadan came, you abandoned committing those sins and then you return to those sins once again it is feared that you may end up being among them without whom We ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to save us from such a description.
