We move on to the next metal, the next parable
in Surah Al Baqarah.
And this is in verse number 264.
And in the last
session that we had, we went through
the first parable
concerning a sadhaka.
And we mentioned that the next several parables are going to be on this theme of a sadhaka.
And there is no other place in the Quran where Allah subhanho wa Taala talks about giving and encouraging us to spend feasibility law in his path, then here in Surah, Baqarah towards the end of sort of tillbaka.
And so in the last parable, we looked at
of how our sadhaka is multiplied.
And then here in verse 264, a loss of Hannah who Allah gives us
the parable of the one who gives his soda and then he nullifies it.
his Sankar he invalidate it, he nullifies it.
And this is the first
of two parables that Allah gives us concerning this same,
the same point
of a person who gives his sadaqa and then he knows it.
He wastes it.
This is the first of two.
And so here in sorta tillbaka in verse 264, Allah says, Yeah, you have lady
Oh, you will believe
and this address
of your Latina or you believe is one of the greatest.
It's as if Allah subhanahu wa tada is calling us. He's calling upon us, to encourage us to do something
as if to say
oh, you who have claimed to believe
if you truly believe then do such and such.
Because whenever Allah addresses us with this address, yeah, I do handle it in Amman.
What follows it is always either a command or a prohibition.
That's why it was given your basketball the long run.
We said if you hear Yeah, you already know.

an example of this is
if you want to encourage someone to do something or

you want to encourage them to do it.
Then you would say,

And so here are a lot of saying if you are truly believers then then do such and such, if you are truly believers do such and such.
And so here Allah says, Yeah, are you Latina, Amanullah taquitos are the party can be many when
all you who believe do not nullify,
do not nullify your charity.
by two things, all men will adapt.
And men is to remind,
to remind of your generosity
to remind those who gave them
to remind them
that you gave them
which basically refers to hurtful words.

So you give
you give your sadhaka to a poor person.
And then let's say a few years passed by
and see that Mashallah he's become rich.
He's wearing fine clothes. He's driving a nice car.
So you go to him and you say,
what do you think you are?
Did you forget that day, when you were in need, and you were begging people, and I gave you such and such.
So this is what we call an event.
to remind others of your generosity.
And so this is a no your your
it wastes your charity, as if you had never given
The reward that you're expecting from that sort of in the alpha, it's all gone.
It's been canceled.
And then Allah subhanho wa Taala gives us an example of this.
Allah subhanho wa Taala says

who spent his wealth
in what appears to be sort of God.
But he does it,
only to show off.
And he does not believe in a law nor the last day.
And so this
it refers to the munafo, the hypocrites and all those who
come under this category
where the only purpose behind them giving and doing any good deed for that matter,
is solely to show off.
Look at who I am.
This is what we refer to as react,
to do your good deeds that are supposed to be done sincerely for the sake of a law, but you do it not for the sake of a law but rather for the people to show off to the people to gain the prayers of the people.
And so here in this parable, actually what we have here are two parables in one.
What we have here are two parables. So the first one is the charity of the one who knows it by giving him reminders by reminding people of their generosity of luck.
Compared to her hypocrite who does not believe in a lot in the last day
and so the hypocrites
they don't give
unless they're being seen
because what is the definition of a fit?
Obviously we're talking about the when I feel
that a woman she's in grad
school or those who
are actually disbelievers.
They're actually disbelievers, but they hide, they hide in their heart. In front of the people, they act as if they are believers. They act as if they are Muslims.
That is the definition of a hypocrite.
And that's why how does a lot end and conclude this is like caffeine, Allah does not guide but disbelieving people, Allah referred to them as Kovach.
So the reality of the kunafa thinks that he is a coffee inside.
So these hypocrites, why on earth would they give charity,
they would never do such a thing. Unless
it's in front of the eyes of the people.
Because when you give your wealth,
giving a wealth is something precious, you're giving something precious. You're giving something that you consider to be belonging to you.
And it's precious and you're giving it
to others. Why on earth would a moon happen? a Catholic? Who doesn't believe in a law doesn't believe in the last day? Why on earth would they want to give?
It's a when do them graph your own? When do they give only
when they're being seen by others?
when they're in front of the cameras, on social media,
in the presence of important figures in society.
When they're in a gathering
and important gathering,
people are giving
as they want to be included. And they want the people to think that you know what? Look at this generous Muslim.
It's all they give only for last.
But not for the sake of a loss of Hannah, who, what?
Aliyah is something very, very dangerous.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said in a Hadith, Pudsey,
whoever associates others with me in a good deed.
Allah subhanho wa Taala says,
Whoever associates others with me in a good deed, I have left him and his ship.
So here, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam refers to react as being shipped associated partners with a lot. And so it is a minor form of shift a subtle form of ship
because the one who doesn't he doesn't realize that he's actually committed ship
and others as well don't realize
that this person is associating partners with a lot.
And so it is very, very dangerous. We need to be aware of it. Because
it was so our good deeds.
So this is the first
parable here and then the second parable,
a lot compares.
A lot compares the one who gives his sadaqa and then or knows it first, a lot comparison to a hypocrite.
Who only does that to show off and then secondly, the loss of Hannah who Allah says fenetre Lu, who can I tell you software and in return

His example is like that, of a large, smooth stone upon which there is a layer of dust or a thin layer of soil.
And then it is hit by a downpour of rain.
That wipes away that

that their charity went to waste. they're unable to preserve, and to maintain and to keep the reward of their charity. And so here a lot compare is the charity of the one who knows it by giving reminders a lot compares him
to this large stone,
And so this large smooth stone is like the heart of this person
who gives in charity and then announce it.
And so his heart is as hard as this stone.
because of a lack of ease,
and a lack of Islamic
people who don't have enough and Islam
and their disobedience.
They have hardened hearts.
And his deed which was for other than Allah is like that dust, that layer of dust that is covering the stove.
So his deed
is like that leader of
And so what happens
when all of a sudden it starts to rain. And it's not just any rain, but it's a downpour of rain.
For our Sahaba who were
very hard downpour of rain, what happens to that rock that is covered with this layer of dust. What happens is that obviously that layer of dust gets washed away
as opposed to
a downpour of rain on fertile ground.
Where you know the the ground is soft and moist.
And the soil is rich. What happens when the rain falls on it?
It absorbs it the ground the soil absorbs that rain.
It doesn't wash the soil away.
It allows whatever is upon it. Whatever dust whatever soil is upon that land. When the waterfalls, the rain falls, it allows it to absorb
it absorbs it.
In that is basically the heart of the woman, the believer who has a man and a cross,
His heart is soft.
And that's why he man is able to easily come into his heart
and He retains that man and he retains and preserves the reward of his good deeds because he does it sincerely for the sake of Allah subhana wa Tada. Unlike the heart of this
the Mirage, he the one who does his good deeds out of rehab, or the one who
he gives inside the car, and then he announced it
by reminding others of his generosity.
Allah compares his heart to this smooth stone, it's a stone, it's hard.
And it has this layer of dust or thin layer of soil. When the when the rain comes, hitting on it hard. It washes away that it can't absorb it. And not only that,
but that heart it becomes exposed for everyone to see.
And so this is the reality of such people that their hearts become exposed when their deeds are washed away, leaving their heart and hearts
beer for everyone to see.
And this is also how Allah subhanho wa Taala will wash away their deeds
that they had done for other than his sake, on the day of judgment.
And so this is their state in the dunya but also their state in the ACA is similar to Watson Hannah who in turn will wash away
Their rewards for their good news.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala says elsewhere, well Kadena Ilana, ami luminometer
for jalna, who have a mentor, and we will turn to what they have done of good deeds, and we will make them to become as dust dispersed. This refers to the deeds of the fact
that they had done in this life.
What they share in common with a person of rehab and the effect the hypocrite is,
what they share in common is
that their deed that they had done was not sincerely for the sake of
the good deed that they had done. It was not with a loss.
And so, Allah subhanho wa Taala says la Yoko de Rouen Amina Casablanca,
they are unable to keep anything of what they are.
Whether it be the hypocrite, whether it be the person who does his deeds, for the sake of showing off, whether it be
the person who knows his charity,
by reminding people of his generosity and, you know, speaking to those who they gave him charity, speaking to them with hurtful words, and men will other
all of these examples.
Allah says la Jaco de Runa and
cassava, they are unable to keep anything of what they earn.
In this dunya Anna
this is, as they say, there's this
there's this phrase, this idiom, in, in Arabic Allah Zhu Min Jin Salah general
whatever you are recompensed with
whatever you are punished with.
It is like what you did.
It is similar in nature to the crime that you committed.
You reap as you sow.
Because in the dunya, these hypocrites, they thought that they could outwit the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And the believers hiding their cover
and showing their good deeds to the public.
that they could be smart.
on that day, on the day of judgment,
they will be dealt with similar
they will be out with
they will be shown their good deeds before their very eyes, and then all of a sudden it will disappear.
They will look at their good deeds, the reward on the Day of Judgment, they will see it before their eyes.
Thinking that Yeah.
Remember those good deeds that we did?
Here is a reward for that.
But all of a sudden, it will disappear disappear before they're very high.
And we will come across other parables where Allah subhanho wa Taala gives us examples of,
of this, of how the reward the reward of the good deeds of the kuffaar how they will vanish.
And they will disappear at a time when they will be most in need of those rewards.
And so this is the reality of those who
I know they're sort of
with elmen and other
reminding others of their generosity
and using hurtful words injury and other with those who they gave him, they gave their charity.
Among the lessons that we learned from this parable is first of all,
a warning a clear warning for those who give in charity
that they should not unknown. There's
a clear warning to us. Be careful.
Whatever we give for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala
Do not unknown, this sort of, don't let it go to waste. Don't let it to get cancelled.
Be aware of reminders and injury. And then we'll add.
And remember, remind yourself
that you are merely giving
what has been entrusted to you.
When you look at that poor person who you gave,
and you feel like reminding him,
that that money that you had given to him,
never belonged to you to begin with.
So, who are you
to act arrogantly
to him as if it was your money
and were bountiful to this person, as if you did
such a huge favor to this person.
That can't be compared
when it wasn't even yours to begin with.
What do we notice in many of the many of the verses where a lot talks about in fact,
spending, FISA lead in
what we notice
is Allah subhanho wa Taala usually
associates an in fact
to give out of what
out of what we have given to you.
What unfi who Mima, Rosa Conoco what unphysical.
When you call me Morocco now,
and they spend of what we provide it to them,
why don't you call me merasakan
and spend a wise commanding us to spend, spend, what
does the law say? Spend your wealth.
No one says, spend what we have given to you.
What's the secret in that the secret in that is very clear. A lot of us to remind us
that this wealth is what we gave to you, it is what we entrusted with you, we put it in your hands, now give it to others. Give it a piece of Ebola, return it back to the owner
So when you want to
you know, rebuke
a poor person who you gave your solder or to remind yourself of that.
The second lesson that we learned here is how Islam took into consideration the feelings of the poor.
Look at how Islam came
to preserve the dignity of even the poor among us.
Poverty is not something
that anyone likes, nor is it
something that we have control over.
A law causes certain people to fall into poverty, for circumstances that are beyond their, beyond their capability.
And so, look at how Islam came to take into consideration the feelings of the poor and the needy.
Where we have an entire idea here, entire verse, talking about preserving their dignity.
Don't look down on them.
Don't be arrogant towards them.
Something that you won't find in any other
religion on the face of this earth. And so this is one of the one of the beautiful aspects of Islam.
Look at how it came to take into consideration
the feelings and the sentiments of
the those who are less fortunate in society. The third lesson that we learn from this parable
is that it
is a sign of weak a man
to insult a poor person after giving him
How do we where do we get this from?
Allah starts the ayah by
calling upon us yeah you have levena Amman, owner who believe all people have a map.
So if you are not fulfilling this, what this verse is talking about.
If you're not fulfilling it, then it's a sign of your week.
The fourth lesson that we learn from this parable is that elmen
reminding others of your generosity
in this manner,
it is one of the major things
It is one of the major things.
So, we need to be extra careful. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
there are three whom Allah subhanho wa Taala will not speak to on the Day of Judgment.
The one who does not give anything
he does not give in sadhaka except that he reminds people of what he gained. And Monette
and the seller of goods, who sells them by taking false oath and the one who hands low is his or his garment is coming below his his ankles.
So this hadith is clear
the person who reminds
the poor of his generosity.
This Hadith is clear about the fact that this is a major sin. Because what is a major sin? What is the definition of a major sin? Anything
we're doing there is a specific punishment mentioned for that sin in this dunya or in the accurate or
Allah mentions his curse for such people.
or allow mentioned that such people are removed from his mercy. And this is an example of that. These people, the loss of Hannah who would die won't look at them on the Day of Judgment.
