Bismillah

00:00:03--> 00:00:07

Alhamdulillah wa salatu salam ala nabina, Muhammad, Sharon,

00:00:08--> 00:00:09

la

00:00:10--> 00:00:11

sharika

00:00:12--> 00:00:12

Nando.

00:00:15--> 00:00:16

dialysis

00:00:20--> 00:00:20

is

00:00:23--> 00:00:27

truly the religion with Allah Islam, submission, submission to him.

00:00:29--> 00:00:31

And also listen to what that says.

00:00:43--> 00:01:02

And whoever seeks a way other than submitting them or you could almost translate that as a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he will be one of the losers. Now, before the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW Selim, Allah Subhana, WA tada sent different prophets to different peoples.

00:01:05--> 00:01:07

And those prophets, one of the

00:01:08--> 00:01:10

distinguishing characteristics of the promises cinema

00:01:12--> 00:01:20

is that those prophets were simply sent to their own people, they were not sent for all of mankind, the purpose of cinema, as we'll discuss later, was sent for all of mankind.

00:01:21--> 00:01:45

And so therefore, you can say that before the promise I sent him, there were different versions of Islam, there were different Islam, all of them were true Islam. All of them are true submission to Allah subhanho wa Taala, based upon what was revealed to them through their specific prophet. So anyone who believes in that Prophet and followed him properly, he would be Muslim.

00:01:46--> 00:01:55

So the true followers of Abraham, one Muslim, the true followers of Moses, who are Muslim, the true followers of Jesus, this report, all of them were Muslim,

00:01:57--> 00:02:10

not those who distorted their teachings and who preach something else, and who did not really believe in them properly and did not really submit and follow them properly. Now, we're talking about the true followers of these prophets, they were all Muslims.

00:02:11--> 00:02:24

And you can find it would be possible before the time the promises to have two prophets being sent to two different peoples. And so therefore, all these people even know if they're following different prophets, all of them.

00:02:26--> 00:02:29

However, after the time of the processor,

00:02:30--> 00:02:32

now that the problem has arisen and has been sent,

00:02:34--> 00:02:37

and he is the final messenger for all of mankind.

00:02:39--> 00:02:49

And his message supersedes in abrogates, all of the messages of the previous prophets. So after the time of the promises,

00:02:50--> 00:02:54

now when you use the term Islam, there is only one true Islam.

00:02:57--> 00:03:09

And that is the Islam, meaning following the way of the problem Hamas asylum and submitting to Allah subhanho wa Taala according to what the problem homosassa them.

00:03:10--> 00:03:14

So Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the Quran, for example.

00:03:38--> 00:04:01

And we have sent down to Mohammed the book and truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and as a witness over, so judge between them by what Allah has revealed and follow not their vain desires, diverging away from the truth of this country. So in other words, this book of the foreign preserves, protects and witnesses to the truth found in the earlier revelations.

00:04:02--> 00:04:10

At the same time, though, it shows the falseness of any, or some of the distortions that have been done to the previous revelations.

00:04:12--> 00:04:15

Thus, anything that is in conformity with the Quran is true.

00:04:16--> 00:05:00

So now that the problem is as Adam has done, and this final message has come, and this book, the final book, and this message that is meant for all of mankind until the day of judgment, that no one if he wants to be Muslim, if he wants to submit to God in the proper way, again, as I said earlier, submitting to God in the proper, proper way means submitting to that according to what God has commanded not according to what you conclude in what you desire what you want, but it is according to what Allah has revealed and what Allah has commanded. So Allah subhanho wa Taala has sent the problem homosassa as the final messenger for all women, so therefore no one nowadays has any

00:05:00--> 00:05:05

Right through not for the problem homosassa them and even to claim to follow an earlier prophet.

00:05:07--> 00:05:08

If he does that,

00:05:09--> 00:05:10

he is no longer

00:05:11--> 00:05:12

nowadays almost.

00:05:14--> 00:05:25

Even the prophet SAW Selim said that Moses was alive today Locanda Musa Hyun Bina and horican Mahal Allahu Allah and

00:05:27--> 00:05:33

the prophet SAW Selim said if Moses were alive today among you, you would have no option but to follow me.

00:05:34--> 00:05:50

And the prophets of Salaam also said when did enough so Mohammed in Vietnam de la is melby admin has illuma Yahoo Do you want to know so Ronnie Yun? From my emote? What am you mean bill Larry are assumed to be elected him in his hobby not.

00:05:51--> 00:05:58

The prophet SAW Selim said that I swear by God, the one who sends is my soul is the soul of Mohammed,

00:05:59--> 00:06:09

there will be none of my address people be Jewish or Christian. So the process that I'm here is referring to the Jews and the Christians as part of his oma or part of his address.

00:06:11--> 00:06:15

After his coming, it is obligatory on everyone to follow him.

00:06:16--> 00:06:21

And that is his just people that is his nation in a general sense.

00:06:22--> 00:06:33

So he said to continue, no Dr. Christian who hears from me, and dies without believing in that which I was sent, except that he will be from the inhabitants of the hellfire.

00:06:34--> 00:06:50

So Islam, again, going back to the definition of Islam, and what Islam is, it is the submission, the proper and true submission to God, and only to God.

00:06:52--> 00:06:59

And this has to be based upon what Allah has revealed and what Allah has commanded and demanded of human beings.

00:07:00--> 00:07:02

Obviously, there's no submission,

00:07:03--> 00:07:09

there's no true submission, if you're the one who decides what you're going to submit to and what you're not going to submit to write, there's no submission.

00:07:11--> 00:07:19

If you have, for example, a slave or servant, and your slave or servant decides what he's going, what orders he's going to accept an order he's going to reject. And he is this is not servitude.

00:07:21--> 00:07:31

This is in fact, in gratitude, right? If you had a slave or servant, and you told them to do this, and do that, and he said, Okay, I'll do this, but forget that one, and so forth. This is not servitude whatsoever.

00:07:33--> 00:07:40

So this submission to Allah Subhana with that, which is what Islam is all about, is based upon what Allah has revealed.

00:07:43--> 00:07:57

And all of the true prophets of God were submitting to God, they were all Muslims, all the true religion from the time of Adam and Eve Salaam until the day of judgment, the true religion will always be Islam, and only Islam.

00:07:59--> 00:08:03

But that Islam can have different meanings and different requirements at different times.

00:08:04--> 00:08:19

Now, at this time, the requirement is that someone must accept and believe in the promise or settlement or all of the implications of that, and submit to Allah, according to what has been revealed to the front.

00:08:22--> 00:08:25

And that's a unique feature, by the way about this.

00:08:26--> 00:08:28

Religion, what they call religion.

00:08:30--> 00:08:33

If you ask me, I mean, this is this is something that points to

00:08:34--> 00:08:36

the truth of this religion as well.

00:08:37--> 00:08:43

With the name of it in itself, is describing what we are doing we are submitting to God.

00:08:44--> 00:08:46

We are not named after a human being.

00:08:47--> 00:09:15

You know, we're not Christians, like the Christians are named after Jesus Christ, are named after a tribe, like the Jews and so forth, a Buddha, again, a human being, no, we are actually named based on what our action is. And our action is the submission to God. And actually, all of those, especially the Jews, and the Christians, all of them will have to accept the fact that the real religion is submission to God.

00:09:18--> 00:09:21

So therefore, that is actually what we as Muslims are doing.

00:09:23--> 00:09:28

And that is the only religion that is acceptable to Allah Subhana with that.

00:09:31--> 00:09:35

Now, as I said, I want to speak about some of the basic foundational points.

00:09:37--> 00:09:41

That was obviously one of them, the religion, the definition of Islam.

00:09:42--> 00:09:44

Now I emphasize the fact

00:09:45--> 00:09:51

that the Prophet Muhammad SAW Selim is the final messenger for all of mankind until the day of judgment

00:09:53--> 00:09:57

and everyone is obliged to believe in Him and to follow him

00:10:00--> 00:10:14

And what this implies, by the way, is that the religion of Islam, the what was given to the problem homosassa them and the teachings that were given to the promises, these teachings are both universal and timeless.

00:10:15--> 00:10:18

They are both universal and timeless.

00:10:19--> 00:10:27

And again, I'm talking about basic concepts, right? Like, what is the definition of Islam? What if these concepts are clear, and a Muslim is mine?

00:10:28--> 00:10:40

He knows, for example, what he's all about, he's about submitting to God. If these concepts are clear, in a Muslim mind, they go a long way in improving and helping and benefit benefiting is Islam.

00:10:44--> 00:10:48

And I have a lot of experience with converts to Islam.

00:10:49--> 00:10:54

And many of them, unfortunately, they become Muslim

00:10:55--> 00:11:07

Alhamdulillah, I mean, they become Muslim inshallah with a good intention. But at the same time, they become Muslim, without understanding many of the important issues related to Islam.

00:11:09--> 00:11:13

And this causes a lot of problems, in many cases later on.

00:11:15--> 00:11:22

So I'm trying to tackle these issues, which I know, you know, some of you probably looking at me, as you know, you know, all of this, and then why am I

00:11:23--> 00:11:57

emphasizing it so much, but believe me, this is based on my experience with many, many converts to Islam. And not only that, not only does it cause problems when they don't understand them, but on the on the, on the other hand, when they are understood properly, they greatly benefit the individual, and they greatly benefit his practice of Islam and his growth and develop it in Islam and Islam and is coming closer to Allah Subhana Allah and inshallah in the long run and is becoming, beloved to Allah subhana wa.

00:11:59--> 00:12:14

So these are not actually minor issues. They are basic introductory issues, but they are not minor issues. And so this is another aspect, this universal universality of Islam, and the timelessness of Islam and what does it really imply?

00:12:16--> 00:12:26

So the prophet SAW, Selim has told us that up to become a Marine, then COVID lu mathema system became a key terrible light was something that that

00:12:28--> 00:12:37

I've left them on to things that if you cling to them, you will never be misguided after me. We refer to this idea earlier, I think, early electric.

00:12:39--> 00:13:07

If you cling to these two things, you will never be misguided. After the processor, the Book of Allah and the sooner of his profits, right, we discuss the right. Okay, so, what the prophets I sent him is saying that a human being, whether during the time of the promises, or 1400 years later, or x number of years later, no matter how many 1000s or whatever, how many years this creation exists.

00:13:09--> 00:13:18

As long as a person adheres to these two, he will never be misguided. So these are the guides for a human being.

00:13:20--> 00:13:29

These are guides for the human being until the danger that this religion has been completed. It's been perfected, the blessing that Allah subhanaw taala has

00:13:31--> 00:13:34

bestowed upon us has been completed as Allah subhanho wa Taala says,

00:13:40--> 00:13:51

todo como esta la Medina this day. I have perfected your religion for you completed my favorite Kuan Yew and I've chosen for you Islam as your religion.

00:13:54--> 00:13:55

So what this implies

00:13:58--> 00:14:02

it implies that the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah

00:14:03--> 00:14:07

are valid and obligatory upon all of mankind until the difference.

00:14:09--> 00:14:11

So whether you're living in an Arabia

00:14:12--> 00:14:20

or you're living in Malaysia, or you're living in Manhattan, or you're living in Hawaii

00:14:21--> 00:14:22

doesn't matter where you're living.

00:14:24--> 00:14:28

The teachings of Islam apply to you and have been meant for you.

00:14:30--> 00:14:40

They have been meant for Allah subhana wa tada revealed this book has completed it has completed his favorite bonus has chosen this way of life for us.

00:14:42--> 00:14:47

So no matter where you are, this religion has been meant for you. It is your guide.

00:14:48--> 00:14:50

It is the way of life that is best for you.

00:14:52--> 00:14:53

No matter where you are.

00:14:55--> 00:14:59

The law and the teachings of Islam are applicable upon you and now

00:15:00--> 00:15:02

If they are your guide and what is best for you

00:15:04--> 00:15:12

don't look at yourself as Oh, I'm an American. So therefore I need some newest lamb or something like that. No, the Quran and Sunnah is sufficient through

00:15:13--> 00:15:35

on living now in the 21st century, or actually 1400 years after the Bahamas, awesome. So I need some kind of new way of life, this, this is no longer the way of life that I can follow No. If you claim that then you are contradicting what Allah subhanho wa Taala has declared in the Quran and what the prophet says Adam has declared.

00:15:36--> 00:15:39

This is the guidance for all of my guidance to the DOJ.

00:15:42--> 00:15:50

So this guidance is applicable to you. And not only is it again, not only is it applicable for you, but it has been meant for you.

00:15:51--> 00:15:53

It is what you're supposed to follow.

00:15:54--> 00:15:59

And what Allah has mercy has given to you, for you to vote.

00:16:02--> 00:16:19

Now, you might be wondering, you know, how is it? And this is, we get this a lot from, from non Muslims who don't know much about Islam, and unfortunately, sometimes even Muslims are confused on this point. You know, how is it that a book could be revealed, and a way of life established 1400 years ago,

00:16:20--> 00:16:32

and we are expected to continue to follow that way of life and that book in the modern age, and even when some people call the post modern age, the Age of Enlightenment, and whatever,

00:16:34--> 00:16:38

all of these nice terms and civilizations like to give to them themselves?

00:16:40--> 00:16:46

Well, when you study the Quran, and when you study, the soon of the process,

00:16:47--> 00:16:50

you'll see that the Islamic guidance

00:16:51--> 00:16:52

and Islamic law

00:16:54--> 00:17:00

has the needed flexibility that allows it to be just as practicable today.

00:17:01--> 00:17:06

And just as practical today, I guess I should say, as it was during the time, the promises.

00:17:08--> 00:17:09

First, for example,

00:17:11--> 00:17:14

in reality, the nature of human beings do not change.

00:17:17--> 00:17:18

Our nature does not change.

00:17:20--> 00:17:33

Our need to worship God is the same now it was it was 1400 years ago, our human weaknesses, our desires that cause us to stray sometimes are the same in nature, as there were 1400 years ago, and so

00:17:35--> 00:17:45

and so therefore worship and ethics, and the foundations of human character, and behavior, and so forth. All of these haven't changed that humans have not changed.

00:17:48--> 00:17:52

And there's no proof whatsoever that humans have changed. And that since

00:17:54--> 00:17:58

Secondly, there are matters that are harmful for human beings.

00:17:59--> 00:18:04

Those matters were harmful for human beings 1400 years ago, and they continue to be harmful for them today.

00:18:06--> 00:18:33

Whether we're talking about things that are consumed like alcohol, or whether we're talking about practices that affect the morals and, and the society as a whole, whether we're talking about murder, promises, security, stealing, all of these things are harmful nowadays, as they were 1400 years ago. So those three aspects and by the way, one of the or the thing, which is actually most harmful, is

00:18:35--> 00:18:38

prescribing partners to Gun Company, what is known as shark.

00:18:40--> 00:18:53

So these things which are harmful to human beings, have been prohibited by the Sharia. And they continue to be prohibited, and they continue to need to be prohibited. And they will continue to need to be prohibited until the day of just

00:18:55--> 00:18:57

beyond those two aspects.

00:18:59--> 00:19:02

Then what human beings need are some general principles.

00:19:04--> 00:19:29

You know, some detail laws and other than the some detail or some general principles that will lead their lives at different times and locales and places. And so, this is exactly what the Islamic law does. It gives us some detail laws that we'll need. But otherwise, when it comes to the mundane matters, the worldly matters, actually, Islamic law leaves the door open for all kinds of technological innovation and so forth.

00:19:30--> 00:19:38

It gives us general principles, and we'll talk about some of them later. So as long as we stay within those general principles,

00:19:40--> 00:19:49

and we stay away from those things which are harmful and will always be harmful for human beings, as individuals and society.

00:19:51--> 00:20:00

And we adhere to the basic ethics and the principles of worship that will develop our inner souls and so forth. This is really

00:20:00--> 00:20:01

All that we need

00:20:02--> 00:20:03

as human beings for guidance.

00:20:04--> 00:20:09

And this is what Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us an Islam in the Quran and the Sunnah of the process.

00:20:12--> 00:20:29

And so therefore this is applicable to anyone anywhere, whether you are new convert to Islam, whether you grew up in Islam, whatever the case might be, whether you're living in Cleveland, or South America or you're living in a Muslim land, doesn't matter.

00:20:30--> 00:20:35

Doesn't matter the guidance is there, you have to turn to it, you have to learn it.

00:20:36--> 00:20:43

But the guidance is there it is complete Allah's favorite bonuses are complete. And this is the way of life that he has chosen.

00:20:46--> 00:20:47

And this means, by the way, also

00:20:49--> 00:21:01

that this guidance is complete, it means it does not need any kind of improvement. It doesn't need any kind of alteration doesn't need any kind of changes or deletions.

00:21:03--> 00:21:09

Everything is actually there in Islam itself, if you understand it, if you apply it properly.

00:21:11--> 00:21:12

And this also means that

00:21:14--> 00:21:25

Muslims don't have to go to other sources and try to get guidance from other sources. Again, the Quran is complete the soon as complete. And it is, as I said, flexible for

00:21:26--> 00:21:28

to be practiced for all of mankind.

00:21:30--> 00:21:33

And this means actually that there are there is no excuse.

00:21:35--> 00:21:45

There is no excuse for any human being to turn to Islam and say no, Islam doesn't work. You know, I'm here as an American, how come I'm going to try to apply Islam.

00:21:48--> 00:21:49

As I said, this is actually

00:21:50--> 00:21:55

contradicting and denying what Allah subhanaw taala and what the problem Hamza Salaam has told us.

00:21:57--> 00:22:01

And when we meet the man with the Allah, and this is the important point.

00:22:03--> 00:22:07

When we return to Our Lord, this is not going to be an acceptable excuse.

00:22:09--> 00:22:19

Because this religion was meant for us, in the sense that it is obligatory upon us to follow it and to become Muslims and to really submit to Allah subhanaw taala.

00:22:20--> 00:22:26

But also in the sense that this is Allah subhanho wa Taala his favor and blessing and mercy upon us.

00:22:28--> 00:22:37

And if we turn away from it, we are turning away from Allah, his favor and blessing and so forth. And this is something that no human being conceivably would want to do.

00:22:39--> 00:22:44

So, we have to understand what it means to be Muslim what Islam is,

00:22:46--> 00:22:56

and understand what is the ramification for that, or what is what are the ramifications of that upon us, as new converts as old Muslims, whatever, wherever we might be, whenever we might be living.

00:22:58--> 00:23:06

And as I said, if these concepts, these basic concepts are clear, in our minds, they will go a long way to inshallah helping us grow in Islam

00:23:07--> 00:23:18

and become better Muslims. And inshallah it will, they will also help us from some of the difficulties and some of the confusions that some Muslims have fallen into

00:23:20--> 00:23:30

the first time the ultimate goal of each and every one of you has taken the Shahada of nightline. And you know that the first and the ultimate goal of Islam is the worship of Allah, Allah.

00:23:32--> 00:23:40

This is the greatest goal of Islam, obviously, and this is also the greatest contribution that it has to the welfare of humanity,

00:23:42--> 00:23:44

the worship of Allah.

00:23:45--> 00:23:51

In reality, this is the actual purpose for which human beings have been created.

00:23:52--> 00:23:58

And there is no purpose there is no goal that is nobler and more important than this.

00:24:00--> 00:24:07

And I know this in this day and age, I know from my personal experience, speaking to non Muslim living some of my relatives

00:24:09--> 00:24:13

in this materialistic age in this individualistic age in this

00:24:15--> 00:24:16

egotistical age,

00:24:18--> 00:24:22

the idea of your goal is to become a real servant

00:24:23--> 00:24:28

of God and worship only God. Some people downplay this as something that is not that important.

00:24:30--> 00:24:44

But in reality, all of those other goals that they make for themselves, whether it is to be you know, the greatest superstar, whatever caliber in this world or to match whatever wealth actually all of those goals are useless and purposes.

00:24:47--> 00:24:55

The only ultimate goal that will have any real meaning is this goal of worshiping Allah and worshiping Allah alone.

00:24:57--> 00:25:00

And as I said, this is what the purpose for which we have been created.

00:25:00--> 00:25:02

Almost Allah says in the Quran.

00:25:10--> 00:25:19

And I created mock the jinn in humans, except that they should worship me alone. So no matter what, no matter what other goals people have,

00:25:22--> 00:25:25

even if it is, you know, bringing peace to the world,

00:25:26--> 00:25:38

or ending diseases in the world, or whatever. Actually, when you think about all of those other goals, as I said, in reality, in the end, they are purposes purposes are meaningless.

00:25:40--> 00:25:43

Because either they're all done for self satisfaction.

00:25:45--> 00:25:49

And all people want to bring peace, because that brings them happiness,

00:25:50--> 00:25:52

even altruistic.

00:25:53--> 00:25:58

Even altruism, actions usually have self containment as the ultimate goal.

00:26:00--> 00:26:10

So the person is really in a kind of self worship, instead of submitting to God, and accepting God's authority, and accepting what God has decreed as the most important

00:26:12--> 00:26:14

and as object of life and as the purpose of life.

00:26:16--> 00:26:19

Instead of that they have selected their own goals for their own

00:26:20--> 00:26:25

selfish or egotistical reasons. They're trying to satisfy their own soul.

00:26:27--> 00:26:35

And so therefore, as I said, that really, that goal in the end is purpose. So they satisfy their goal. But in reality, when they meet God,

00:26:36--> 00:26:41

they have not satisfied the reason for which they were created. And that is the worship of Allah Allah.

00:26:44--> 00:26:56

As a corollary of this, the worship of God alone has been one of the goals of Islam. As a corollary of that is obviously freeing humans from the worship of any other thing.

00:26:58--> 00:27:02

Whether it is other humans, whether it is any other

00:27:03--> 00:27:07

object of worship, whether it is an idol, whatever the case might be,

00:27:08--> 00:27:14

it's them come to freak humans from worshiping anything other than done.

00:27:16--> 00:27:21

And this was eloquently stated by some of the companions of the problem.

00:27:22--> 00:27:24

When they were spreading, it's them.

00:27:25--> 00:27:33

And they were brought to the emperor of Persia, and the emperor of Persia, ask them for what reason have they come? Why are they bringing this Islam

00:27:34--> 00:27:46

to these other lives and so forth, and they told the emperor of Persian, Allah had sent us to take whoever wishes, from the servitude of mankind to the servitude of Allah.

00:27:47--> 00:27:50

And from the tightness of this world, to its to its excellence,

00:27:51--> 00:27:56

and from the injustice of the ways of life, in this world, to the justice of Islam,

00:27:58--> 00:28:01

to take people from servitude of mankind to the service.

00:28:03--> 00:28:07

When you think about human beings worshipping and serving other human beings,

00:28:08--> 00:28:11

this is actually a very degrading act on the part of the human.

00:28:12--> 00:28:21

Because every human, you know, you look at any other human, they have all the same weaknesses, all this all the same frailties as any other company.

00:28:23--> 00:28:26

And so therefore, why would anyone belittle himself,

00:28:28--> 00:28:40

belittle himself to worship something which is equal to him, there's no difference between innocence, there might be some difference in quality, but in reality, there's no difference between them nests.

00:28:41--> 00:28:42

And so therefore,

00:28:44--> 00:28:54

one of the greatest dread tragedies of the of the lives of human beings of the history of human beings, is this submission to the human beings.

00:28:57--> 00:28:59

And this can take many forms.

00:29:00--> 00:29:12

And as I said, when we talk about, it's not going to free humans from the worship of anything other than but sometimes people don't realize the forms in which the stakes, especially the submitting to other human beings.

00:29:15--> 00:29:32

For example, people might see a tyrant, say, look how this parent is making other people submit to Him and his own is ruling over them. And he's like being a battle with them. And some of them aren't submitting willingly and some are too many unwillingly. And this is a disgraceful.

00:29:34--> 00:29:36

disgraceful thing, it's tiring to be removed.

00:29:37--> 00:29:54

What about other human beings rolling over humans and other forms where they lay down laws and they lay down ways of life for that human being. And they say you must follow this way of life. Just because we are the majority

00:29:55--> 00:29:58

or just because we are the clergy or just because we have

00:29:59--> 00:29:59

the

00:30:00--> 00:30:01

designating ourselves as being special.

00:30:03--> 00:30:10

These are also ways in which human beings may submit themselves and worship other human beings.

00:30:11--> 00:30:14

In fact, a lot of handle data, for example, says in the Quran

00:30:24--> 00:30:29

they talking about the Jews and the Christians took their rabbis and their moms to be the Lord.

00:30:32--> 00:30:56

What is Allah subhanaw? taala referring to here is referring to the fact that when they say something is permissible, then the people follow them, they say, yes, you have this right, we're gonna follow you. You know, regardless of maybe what God says in the Torah and or revelation, he says, we can if you say we can do this, like nowadays, homosexuality and gay marriage and all that stuff. Oh, if you say it's okay, yes, then we jump to this, okay.

00:30:57--> 00:31:10

There are many ways by which human beings submit themselves to other human beings. Some are quite obvious, but some are less obvious. And Islam has came come to free humans from all that.

00:31:11--> 00:31:24

And obviously, not just the worship of other human beings, but the worship of anything other than Allah Subhana. With that, because, again, human beings have been created for the purpose purpose of worshiping Allah and only worshiping Allah.

00:31:25--> 00:31:32

And so therefore, if they submit themselves to anything other than almost kind of what data they are actually degrading themselves,

00:31:34--> 00:31:49

they are really killing themselves. And what they submit to instead of data can be many things. Of course, we know idols for example, still, we have a for example, and many parts of the world, people worship all sorts of different kind of idols made out of stone or whatever.

00:31:51--> 00:31:58

I mean, obviously, this idols, the human creation in the first place, you know, why would it why would any human to do it or something of that nature.

00:32:00--> 00:32:20

But there are, there are other maybe more important, especially nowadays, and less obvious, especially for the people in the West. Right? We in the West, we don't have that many words, for example, we compare India to the United States, to worship of idols is very different. But there are a lot of things that people worship in the United States, other than all the time with them.

00:32:22--> 00:32:24

They worship their own desires,

00:32:25--> 00:32:40

what whatever they seem to be good and, and something to their liking. This is then they'll demand that this is the right, and this is what they're going to follow. Who is the side of it, just their own desire, their own, their own soul.

00:32:41--> 00:32:51

And so therefore, they have taken their own souls, their own desires, as their object of submission, their object of worship, as always.

00:33:21--> 00:33:25

Have you seen He who has taken X has got his own desire,

00:33:26--> 00:33:33

and a lot of symptoms straight due to knowledge that the last and he had said, a seal upon his hearing, and it's hard to put over his vision.

00:33:35--> 00:33:39

So who will guide him after all, Will you not then be reminded?

00:33:41--> 00:33:47

It becomes enslaved to his own, whatever his passions decide for him, this is what he follows.

00:33:48--> 00:33:52

So therefore, he's a slave to them, he may consider himself free.

00:33:53--> 00:33:59

He may consider himself free and declare to the world that he's free, but in reality, he is not.

00:34:01--> 00:34:08

He's worshiping something, and he is a slave to something. And unfortunately for him, that thing which is worshiping and as a slave to,

00:34:09--> 00:34:10

it is not the

00:34:13--> 00:34:19

industry in the contemporary society, many people realize even that they're worshipping what they call the almighty dollar.

00:34:21--> 00:34:25

They're worshipping material things. Well.

00:34:27--> 00:34:39

And what do we mean by the fact that we are that they are worshipping Jesus? Obviously, the dollar doesn't sit there and give them commands, right? You don't see George Washington's mouth, moving on the dollar bill, telling them what to do.

00:34:41--> 00:35:00

But their whole goal in life, their whole purpose in life, why they'll do this thing, why they want to this thing, you know, even their ethics and their behavior, that all this all revolves around the amassing of wealth, and getting that wealth. And if they get that wealth, they're happy if they don't get it. They're

00:35:00--> 00:35:15

I'm not happy. And so this is really their object of worship, objects of worship, you have to keep in mind the object of worship, like the word Illa. In the Arabic language. It also refers to the thing that is most beloved in the heart, the thing that is driving the heart.

00:35:17--> 00:35:27

So someone could even say, Oh, I'm alive, it took the decision, not my Muslim, but still in his heart, he has many things that are more beloved to him than Allah.

00:35:29--> 00:35:31

He has yet to remove these things from his heart,

00:35:32--> 00:35:38

yet remove some of his desires from his heart, and some of these things that he will compromise his faith for,

00:35:40--> 00:35:58

even though he is now a Muslim, and so forth. So this, this kind of points to is extremely important to realize that Islam came to make the torture or badness of worshipping only Allah. And part of this is to understand that there are many things that people worship other than Allah.

00:35:59--> 00:36:04

And we have to be free of all of them. And this is one of the goals of

00:36:06--> 00:36:18

you know, this idea of worshipping the almighty dollar, as they call it. This is not something No, actually the prophets, I seldom refer to the fact that people can get into this way of life.

00:36:19--> 00:36:25

And how did the prophets I send them to die? It's absolutely not, but they will people will homies,

00:36:26--> 00:36:44

the prophets, I send him send me the slave of the north of the dead hand of the people and the Cammisa is all forms of money or clothing, or clothing. To me the slaves, that the same word, you know the word I've done, the slave of Allah,

00:36:45--> 00:36:46

man, the slave of

00:36:47--> 00:36:54

man, the same word from which a better worship comes from the same word, the use

00:36:56--> 00:36:58

of the dinar, worshiper of distance,

00:37:00--> 00:37:07

he said, may this person perish, if he's given them is happy, if he doesn't give them then he's not

00:37:09--> 00:37:28

see what the Bible says Adam is describing here, he's saying that these people are servants, slaves of these things, because their whole life revolves around them. They are happy because of these things. They are unhappy because of this. They are not happy if they are worshipping Allah, they're pleasing Allah and unhappy of their displeasing Allah.

00:37:29--> 00:37:37

So as a new Muslim, and this may take some time for us to develop, we and we have to be honest with ourselves in when you become Muslim, and the point that we're going to be making.

00:37:39--> 00:37:50

You know, when you become Muslim, as I said, you're the kind of new kid on the block, don't think that you're all of a sudden now, perfect with respect to Islam, you still haven't challenged

00:37:51--> 00:37:53

a lot of growth and development

00:37:54--> 00:37:55

that will come to you.

00:37:57--> 00:38:05

And so therefore, when you become a Muslim, sometimes you don't recognize all of these false forms of worship, that you accepted before and it's still being

00:38:08--> 00:38:23

you missed, we may be able to submit to Allah by by praying and faxing and then and you know, you can recognize that at a theoretical or abstract level that yes, you have to be submitting to God and inshallah this will be acceptable to Allah.

00:38:25--> 00:38:34

But to be completely purely Muslim, and a believer, you have to identify all of these faults from the worship and remove them from your

00:38:37--> 00:38:55

and this may take you some time to realize, first of all, and this may take you some time to remove them. But the sooner you do it, the sooner you realize it, the sooner you remove them, and shall have been much better it will be for you. Another goal of Islam also is actually to make life on this earth flourish.

00:38:57--> 00:39:00

And be in a prosperous and sound man.

00:39:01--> 00:39:09

The religion of Islam coming from Allah subhanho wa Taala, Allah is the one who created us and who in his mercy had sent this message for us.

00:39:11--> 00:39:17

Obviously, the religion of Islam or a lot of our data knows that we as human beings, we have made up both

00:39:18--> 00:39:20

the physical body

00:39:21--> 00:39:22

as well as the soul.

00:39:25--> 00:39:28

So, we have both the spiritual as well as the material side

00:39:29--> 00:39:35

and both sides are real, and both of the sides together make up the human being.

00:39:36--> 00:39:40

And so, therefore, really neither of these two sides can be neglected.

00:39:42--> 00:39:51

And that is one of the problems with some of the different what they call isms, like capitalism, socialism. So what some of the main main theories

00:39:52--> 00:39:59

is that many times they they will concentrate on one aspect of human beings and in fact, in fact, in reality, mostly what they can control

00:40:00--> 00:40:02

Create a fun, or the material aspects.

00:40:03--> 00:40:11

Because the spiritual aspects are beyond their worth what they are capable of conquering and understanding completely.

00:40:12--> 00:40:24

But Allah, Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us a message a way of life, in which the two sides, the spiritual material do not compete with one another. They're not in conflict with one another.

00:40:25--> 00:40:50

And that's another aspect. I mean, you, for example, in Christianity, you know, then upon the physical world, that something evil and so forth, so you have this conflict always, you have to live in this world. And yet you're supposed to leave your experience over there, not part of this world. So you always have that conflict, no hamdulillah as Muslims, we understand that Allah has created us, and put us in this world.

00:40:51--> 00:40:58

And put us here on purpose, we're the reason and this world, the physical world is not in itself evil.

00:41:00--> 00:41:04

But instead it can be used and it should be used to please others.

00:41:05--> 00:41:10

So the spiritual and the material work together, to worship Allah alone and to please Allah.

00:41:13--> 00:41:24

So hamdulillah there is no conflict. There's no conflict within Islam. Allah told us that is put humans here. We know that Allah Subhana, Allah has put humans here.

00:41:25--> 00:41:33

And at the same time all the time with Allah therefore has given us guidance to have for life both in this world,

00:41:34--> 00:41:37

both the mundane and the spiritual aspect of it.

00:41:38--> 00:41:42

So one of the goals of Islam is to bring about

00:41:43--> 00:41:49

the proper way of life, that sound way of life in this world, from even from a material

00:41:53--> 00:41:56

another goal of Islam is the goal of justice

00:41:57--> 00:41:59

and the prohibition of growing others.

00:42:01--> 00:42:06

Life on Earth cannot really be flourishing and sound and proper without justice.

00:42:08--> 00:42:20

So we find that Allah subhana wa tada in numerous places in the Quran, Allah subhanho wa Taala has demanded from Muslims, that they behave and they act justly.

00:42:22--> 00:42:28

There is no excuse actually for a Muslim not to behave in a just and righteous manner.

00:42:30--> 00:43:17

Even if, even if by acting justly, he harmed himself, because he does it wrong. Or he supposedly harms other Muslims because they have done something wrong. It doesn't matter. The requirement from Allah subhanaw taala to be just overrides or takes precedence over even the individual's own needs, or the needs of his friends and close relatives and whatever. So for example, let's run with that Allah says, Oh, you will believe stand up firmly for justice as witnesses to a lot, even though the against yourself or your parents or your kin. The ritual for Allah is a better protector to both the need to follow not the lusts of your hearts, lest you may avoid death.

00:43:18--> 00:43:50

And if you destroy your witness, or refuse to give, it really allows what acquainted with what you do. And Allah subhanaw taala also says, are you who believe stand up firmly for Allah and be Dutch witnesses, and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you sure from justice, we just there is near to piety and fear Allah, barely Allah is well acquainted with what you do. So and Islam, for example, nobody is above the law.

00:43:51--> 00:43:57

Justice cannot be violated for any individual. Even the problem has

00:43:58--> 00:44:06

given the boss I sent him in one case in which someone stole something and some people tried to come to the province and intervene with the voters and

00:44:08--> 00:44:14

try to get them to go against what the law has decreed percentages.

00:44:15--> 00:44:38

The prophets I send them said that those people who came before you were destroyed, because we can all go in our local among them would steal them, they will live. So the rich for example, the richer they commit a crime that they don't apply the punishment to them. But if a weak person among them feels, then they apply the penalty, and the punishment to that person.

00:44:39--> 00:44:50

And then he swore by law, they fought him or the daughter of Muhammad, so is referring to his own daughter, mother, daughter of Mohammed, were to steal, I would have her hand amputated.

00:44:51--> 00:44:59

So nobody, nobody is above the law, not the rich, as opposed to the poor, not even the daughter of the promises.

00:45:00--> 00:45:14

Just this can only be just if it is applied to everybody, to the rich to the poor, to the young to the old, to the ally and enemy to the Muslim and non Muslim, and so forth. It can be no double standard whatsoever.

00:45:15--> 00:45:18

Once you apply a double standard, then you no longer have

00:45:19--> 00:45:43

you no longer have justice. Therefore Muslim is required to be just to everyone friend or foe, and even to his own, so it's not even allowed to roll his own. So, instead, under all cases, a Muslim must be just and in fact, you must be even more than just, it must be benevolent and forbearing, as Alex says, put on.

00:46:02--> 00:46:14

Rarely Allah enjoins justice and beneficence and giving help to given kin any forbids old lewd acts evil and oppression that monitors you that you may take him

00:46:15--> 00:46:21

back this establishment of justice and working for justice is one of the heavy responsibility on the Muslim community as a whole.

00:46:22--> 00:46:24

This is our obligation.

00:46:25--> 00:46:30

We are supposed to be witnesses to the rest of mankind to the truth of Islam.

00:46:31--> 00:46:32

Part of the truth of the

00:46:33--> 00:46:34

Justice

00:46:52--> 00:47:00

this, we may do a destination was the two may be witnesses over mankind and the messenger be a witness for you.

00:47:01--> 00:47:06

Finally, there's another there's an important point that I need to make sure with respect to what is justice,

00:47:07--> 00:47:18

especially for Muslims. Maybe they haven't thought about this point. In reality, there is a very important link between justice and following the revelation from Allah Renata.

00:47:21--> 00:47:28

Because if you look at any law, laws are made, for example, and this world nowadays laws are made by human beings.

00:47:29--> 00:47:30

And what kinds of human beings are

00:47:31--> 00:47:36

in reality, all lots of handwork data is the only one with the impartiality

00:47:37--> 00:47:43

with the depth nature to be able to lay down laws that do not favor one class of people

00:47:44--> 00:47:54

that are not unjust in any way. And in fact, he's the only one that has the knowledge to know what is a law and what is not a law.

00:47:55--> 00:48:05

So when we speak about justice, we cannot speak about justice just in an abstract sense, but not the Justice comes through, or come to via following the law

00:48:07--> 00:48:08

and applying the law

00:48:10--> 00:48:17

and almost without His justice that is found in his law of Islam. It applies not just to this world, but also in the F

00:48:19--> 00:48:30

in numerous places in the Quran, Allah subhanho wa Taala makes it very clear that when he does his people, Allah subhanho wa Taala is not going to wrong anyone in any way whatsoever.

00:48:31--> 00:48:37

And part of this justice includes the fact that no one will bear the burden of another individual

00:48:38--> 00:48:41

for Nepal, is

00:48:50--> 00:49:12

about burdens not a person beyond the scope. reward for that which is earned and is punished only for that which isn't. Now justice not only has a positive aspect to it, which is the fulfilling and restoring of rights after they have been infringed upon. But it also has a negative, so to speak and negative component to it. And that is the prohibition of wronging others.

00:49:14--> 00:49:33

The prohibition of Rohingya Muslim is not allowed to wrong others. So there is a Hadith, the prophet SAW Selim has quoted Allah saying, All my servants, I have forbidden wrongdoing for myself. And I have made it forbidden for you, therefore not wrong.

00:49:35--> 00:49:39

And there's another By the way, very important relationship between justice and Islam.

00:49:41--> 00:49:44

And that is that in order for justice really to be implemented,

00:49:46--> 00:49:53

there has to be something in the human being, driving him and making him desire just

00:49:55--> 00:50:00

because otherwise people easily stray from what is just either to help

00:50:00--> 00:50:09

Friends out are to help themselves out, or to get a bribe here or to get some kind of benefit. And so therefore they do not do what is just.

00:50:11--> 00:50:15

And they'll have the law. Obviously, as we know, Islam inspires the individual.

00:50:17--> 00:50:20

Islam inspires individual wood wood, what can you do on the inside,

00:50:21--> 00:50:26

to not only believe in justice, but even to sacrifice for the sake of

00:50:27--> 00:50:43

sacrifice his own interests for the sake of just sacrifice, the interests of his friends and so forth for the sake of this. So you need really for true justice. We hear a lot of talk nowadays about justice. But true justice, you really need Islam.

00:50:44--> 00:50:52

You need to know what is really just what our laws are just and to have within you what will help you bring about justice.

00:50:53--> 00:50:55

Another goal of Islam is true peace,

00:50:57--> 00:51:04

which spoke about the fact that Islam doesn't mean peace. But we mentioned that real peace, true peace will come about

00:51:06--> 00:51:06

via Islam.

00:51:08--> 00:51:13

Allah subhanho wa Taala has described, this light and guidance is given.

00:51:48--> 00:51:56

come to you from Allah, a light and a clear book, where with Allah guides, all those who seek His good pleasure, two ways of peace,

00:51:57--> 00:52:23

and he brings them out of darkness by his will and delight and guides them to straightaway. In fact, I'll listen with data via the Quran via this message of worshipping Allah Subhana. Allah, Allah subhanho wa Taala is calling all humans to the abode of eternal peace as always, with Allah says, Allah pulls to the home of peace, and died to the world, to restrict the home of peace, he was talking about paradise.

00:52:25--> 00:52:36

More and more people I think nowadays are recognizing the true and complete peace can only be achieved when the individuals have achieved internal peace, and this internal peace,

00:52:37--> 00:52:43

this internal peace and happiness can only come about when the individual knows his Lord.

00:52:45--> 00:52:54

Allah subhanho wa Taala has created human beings in such a way that actually they have a desire to know the Lord. They are looking, they're constantly looking

00:52:56--> 00:52:58

for that thing which they are supposed to worship.

00:52:59--> 00:53:04

And so therefore, until and unless they know the Lord, they will never have to peace.

00:53:06--> 00:53:24

They will never have that true life in this world that will bring them happiness. In fact, Donna described what the what are the problems that cinema is calling us to what God is calling us to as the real life, the true life, all the time what Allah says,

00:53:35--> 00:53:51

Oh, you will believe enter Allah and His Messenger when he called you to that which will give you life. So this true peace and also true contentment in the soul comes about by knowing that

00:53:53--> 00:54:02

it doesn't come about by material by you know, matching as much wealth as you know the richest people in the world. You look at the richest people in the world and you find

00:54:03--> 00:54:07

them turning to drugs and alcohol and sometimes committing suicide.

00:54:08--> 00:54:11

Because that's that cannot bring true peace to the individual.

00:54:12--> 00:54:18

to peace to internal peace can only be found when the person knows Allah.

00:54:20--> 00:54:29

And in fact, that is not only the true peace, but that is the true richness. Do you want to be rich, it is by the richness in your soul

00:54:30--> 00:54:37

and in your heart, as the problems are limited in the medal winner winner will prove

00:54:38--> 00:54:48

the true richness is the richness of the heart. And the true poverty is the poverty of the heart. And once an individual attains this internal peace

00:54:50--> 00:55:00

once this individual obtains this internal peace and is at peace with himself and free of any internal agitation, then it can be done.

00:55:00--> 00:55:04

Truly, an enter into truly peaceful relationships with others,

00:55:05--> 00:55:15

starting with those who are closest to home, to a family and extends to his neighbors, and others, the community, and in finally extending to humankind as a whole.

00:55:17--> 00:55:21

But it has to start with the human being with the individual.

00:55:22--> 00:55:27

When you find true peace and happiness and contentment in it, so

00:55:28--> 00:55:38

then you can have true peace and contentment with it. Because if he doesn't have that true peace and contentment in at all, then he always be looking for that true peace and contentment

00:55:39--> 00:55:48

given what other people possess, what they all the riches that they own, or the demons that they have, or in kind of owning or having others.

00:55:50--> 00:56:03

And so therefore, you will always be after what other people have. And there always be this kind of war between him and other individuals. But what he has true peace and contentment at its heart, by knowing all of that,

00:56:05--> 00:56:22

once he knows Allah subhanho wa Taala, and has the true relationship with Allah subhanaw taala, that he's not interested in anything that anybody else might have. And that is how we can have two beats and enter into true, peaceful relationships with others. Now, as you might have noticed, these goals that I mentioned,

00:56:23--> 00:56:34

obviously, there is a very clear relationship between all of them. And all of them go back to that one ultimate goal of worshiping Allah and only worshiping Allah.

00:56:35--> 00:56:37

All of these things are tied into that

00:56:38--> 00:56:43

when the person worshiped alone, and obviously he freed himself from worshiping anything other than

00:56:44--> 00:57:19

for the more he will leave his life in a way that is best for himself and for society and for civilization, he will then work for justice, because this is what I'll let demands on him. And within himself, he won't have the proper forces within himself to drive himself to establish justice no matter what. And to keep himself from wronging. Others, he will find through peace within itself. And you'll pass that along to others again, and so forth. And this goes as we alluded to, this goes on met in Islam, because of some of the excellent features that we find within Islam.

00:57:20--> 00:57:25

For example, within Islam, we find the teachings of pure monotheism.

00:57:26--> 00:57:29

Now, this is obviously sounds like I'm

00:57:31--> 00:57:33

just repeating myself, but let me

00:57:34--> 00:57:36

explain what I mean by that.

00:57:38--> 00:57:55

As we said, The ultimate goal is the worship of Allah alone. And this is what Islam brings to the human being. This is one of the excellent features of Islam. At the same time, it's done work to remove any kind of worship other than the worship of Allah and with that,

00:57:56--> 00:57:57

anything that could lead to

00:57:59--> 00:58:15

anything that could lead to associate importance with a lot of analytic data has been promoted by the Sharia. And this is because this is because as we said, The ultimate goal, and the main thing and a human being is going to be this pure market.

00:58:17--> 00:58:21

You know, it's no secret. And it's no wonder really, that when we look at the life of the promises, and

00:58:23--> 00:58:30

the boats, I tell them, it's spent, after receiving the religion from Allah subhanaw taala, it spent 13 years in Mecca.

00:58:31--> 00:58:33

And it's been 10 years and Medina.

00:58:34--> 00:58:42

And those 13 years ago, when you look at the Quran, me and you, and you analyze the verses of the Quran that were revealed, and

00:58:43--> 00:58:53

you'll see in the, emphasize the teaching of Christ, the pure monotheism. And he made this foundation very strong in his companions

00:58:55--> 00:59:12

such that they removed virtually any hint of should from the lives of associating partners with a lesson without undue delay. And what we can get from this is obviously the importance of having this foundation. So this is one of the most important excellent features of establishing.

00:59:13--> 00:59:22

And so the Muslim, the especially the new Muslim, should always try to understand what really is still monotheism or what they call actually an Arabic

00:59:23--> 00:59:31

term that probably should get used to what really is dying? And how do we implement it? And how do we preserve it and how do we save

00:59:33--> 00:59:43

we also see that Islam is the religion of all that's fine with that. First and foremost, obviously, Allah subhanho wa Taala is the only one who knows how he should be working.

00:59:44--> 00:59:50

To me this this point is very obvious, but I'm surprised sometimes when the talking with non Muslims how

00:59:51--> 00:59:54

this point is not clear somehow to everybody.

00:59:56--> 00:59:59

we as human beings, we can study many aspects of this

01:00:00--> 01:00:17

physical worlds, we can see many of what they call the laws of nature. And we can understand how things act and react and so forth of the other laws of nature and we can try to study them. And we can kind of master some, some of the aspects of the physical world

01:00:19--> 01:00:22

when it comes to God,

01:00:23--> 01:00:31

and knowing how we are supposed to worship God, and what should be our relationship to God and how we should interact with respect to but

01:00:33--> 01:00:42

this is something beyond the realm of human interaction. This is something beyond the realm of testing and observation.

01:00:43--> 01:00:53

And so therefore, this is something that really human beings have no ability to comment about, about except maybe in the most general fashion.

01:00:54--> 01:01:05

But the details of it, there's no way that any human being could claim the tmos the details about how Alyssa handled that how bad is to be worshipped.

01:01:07--> 01:01:09

There's only one source you can turn to.

01:01:10--> 01:01:25

And that source is obviously God Himself. And then hamdulillah we have in Islam, we have the revelation preserved, both in the Quran and Sunnah of the prophet SAW Selim. And we can say really, that Islam is God's religion.

01:01:26--> 01:01:34

One of the characteristics also of Islam is its comprehensiveness. Islam is comprehensive in many different ways.

01:01:36--> 01:01:41

It is comprehensive in the sense that it applies to all human beings at all times, as we spoke about before.

01:01:43--> 01:01:49

It is comprehensive in the sense that it covers both this life and the hereafter. Islam is not just a religion, concerned about the here,

01:01:50--> 01:02:04

as we spoke about, Islam is often concerned about how you live your life in this world. And it ties us to what is best in this room. So Islam is comprehensive, both covering both this world. And here.

01:02:05--> 01:02:10

Islam is also comprehensive with respect to the various components of human of a human.

01:02:12--> 01:02:22

It's not misconstrued concerned with the human spirit with his intellect with his body. Its physical body with this belief through this actions with morality, with its ethics.

01:02:24--> 01:02:32

It protects the human from diseases of the heart, as well as from diseases of the body and the diseases of society as a whole.

01:02:33--> 01:02:42

So therefore, for example, when we look at the teachings of Islam, we find guidance concerning the disease of arrogance that appears in the heart,

01:02:43--> 01:02:50

buying guides, ripping human beings to balance, eating and drinking, without extravagance,

01:02:51--> 01:03:01

and guidance, fearing human beings away from corruption, and structural diseases such as the butcher in the leg. So it's time consuming, a very balanced life,

01:03:02--> 01:03:18

in which no component whatsoever is ignored or neglected. And in fact, each component receives its proper attention that it deserves and required, and each component actually works together. For the ultimate goal

01:03:19--> 01:03:24

is also comprehensive, in the sense that it covers all aspects of a person's life.

01:03:25--> 01:03:45

From ritual worship, to ethics and moral behavior, to act of business and government. Nothing of the law by the grace of God has been neglected. What this implies for a new Muslim, and for many of Muslim for many new Muslims, this might be completely different from how we practice religion before becoming Muslim.

01:03:47--> 01:03:48

In many religions today,

01:03:51--> 01:03:54

and the way that many religions are practice today,

01:03:56--> 01:03:59

there's really very little complete guides

01:04:00--> 01:04:22

in what to do in your in your business life, and your ethics or your relationship with your wife or your friends or neighbors or family. Many times in many religions nowadays, these are almost basically up to you. You know, you have some general kind of idea that you have some punches that you're supposed to follow, but otherwise, it's really up to you.

01:04:24--> 01:04:40

But in Islam, this is not the case. Alhamdulillah Allah has not left these very important components of our life, to our own whims and our own desires and our own sometimes false knowledge, what we think is knowledge but maybe it's not really true at all.

01:04:42--> 01:04:45

And hamdulillah Allah has not left us without guidance.

01:04:47--> 01:04:50

Allah has not left this blind and wandering.

01:04:51--> 01:04:59

But at the same time, we have to realize that Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us this guidance for all components of our life.

01:05:00--> 01:05:12

We do not have the right to choose to pick and choose, okay, I'm going to, I'm going to apply this and part of my life and apply that. But I'm going to ignore that, and so forth. No, this is not, this is not the proper way.

01:05:15--> 01:05:19

We cannot pick and choose what part of the Quran we're going to follow. You cannot pick and choose.

01:06:12--> 01:06:33

You believe in part of the Scripture and disbelieve in part thereof. And what is the reward of those who do to accept this grace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection, they'll be consigned to the most grievous tomb for Allah is not unaware of what you do, such as those who by the life of this world at the price of the hero,

01:06:34--> 01:06:59

their punishment will not be lightened, neither will they have support for picking and choosing. This is a very strong passage from the Quran, saying, for example, okay, I'll believe in what Islam says I have to believe in and I'll maybe playing fast, but outside of that, you know, my relationship with the opposite sex or what I drink, or what I eat, and so forth. The system doesn't have anything to do with this or something of that nature.

01:07:00--> 01:07:02

This is completely incorrect.

01:07:03--> 01:07:09

And it violates one of the important distinguishing characteristics of Islam,

01:07:11--> 01:07:18

this comprehensive niche, and by the way, this comprehensive nature of Islam, this is another sign that this religion is truly from that

01:07:19--> 01:07:40

only God could reveal or revelation or give such a complete teach, so consistent in itself, and so beautiful, and having such great results, touching every aspect of life, no human being produced. So this is again, another sign that this religion is from Allah.

01:07:42--> 01:07:56

And the more you learn about this religion, and the more you see these kind of important aspects, and the more your certainty in this religion will grow, and the more your faith will grow. And this will make you more and more dedicated to this religion.

01:07:58--> 01:08:17

Because this lack of knowledge, and this lack of certainty is one of the one of the major obstacles to someone becoming a complete Muslim. If he lacked certainty in Islam, he might think there's other things out there that are maybe better or or some other way of life or some other teaching some other guide, and he's also going to follow the same thing.

01:08:18--> 01:08:33

But inshallah when he understands Islam properly, and when he really concentrate on what Islam has to bring him, inshallah, which will increase the certainty and his belief in Islam, and that will increase his commitment and his practices.

01:08:35--> 01:08:51

We also see that it's not takes into consideration the welfare of this life of this world, as well as the character. This is one of the features that we spoke about that we spoke about the fact that Islam fits in the consideration of spiritual needs as well as the material needs.

01:08:53--> 01:08:59

For example, the scholars of Islam have spoken about the central needs or subsidies of this life.

01:09:01--> 01:09:10

And when you study the laws of Islam, you say that, that the laws of Islam are actually geared around preserving

01:09:11--> 01:09:57

and assisting and bringing about these necessities of life. If you don't have the necessities in life, then your life will be lacking here. Even from a Muslim perspective, you may not be able to practice Islam and the complete passion. And these necessities of life that the scholars have spoken about. These are five. As I said, the laws of Islam, preserve and implement and assist to bring these things about his or religion, life, family ties and relationships, mental capacity, and wealth and property. If you look, if you think about the laws of Islam, all of these these five goals or these five aspects are being protected and assisted in the law by the laws of Islam, religion, for

01:09:57--> 01:09:59

example, and religion By the way, come first

01:10:01--> 01:10:13

The number one necessity in life, if you don't have religion than then from Islamic point of view, really, life is not even worth living. And that is why religion takes precedence over life itself.

01:10:14--> 01:10:22

Therefore, in the laws of Islam, you'll see, for example, that you are required to pray five times a day. And there are other prayers and so forth, and you have the fasting of the month of Ramadan. And

01:10:23--> 01:10:47

all of these things are, of course, acts of worship in and of themselves. But if you look at them and study them, you'll see that, in reality, they also assist in the establishment of the religion, and making the religion is stronger, and making the religion stronger, and society as a whole, as well as individuals. With respect to life, we see that all the time and what data for example, has preserved prohibited murder,

01:10:49--> 01:11:25

with respect to the size of the family ties, and so forth, Alyssa what data has prohibited, adultery, which is one of the main things that can cause the breakup of family and so forth, with respect to mental capacity all the time without is prohibited alcohol, and so on, and so forth, with respect to wealth and property, although no data has prohibited stealing, and other such laws. So we see that, in reality, Islam is really taking into consideration the needs and the welfare of this world, as well, obviously, as the needs for an individual. And here

01:11:26--> 01:11:47

we see also in the laws of Islam, one of the acceptable features of Islam, we see what we can go is an absence of hardship in the law. One of the aspects of Islam that many scholars have spoken about is that hardship in itself is not a goal of Islam.

01:11:48--> 01:11:51

For example, if you think about earlier moms and so forth,

01:11:52--> 01:12:06

they would, you know, cause them to hardship and cause them to have to go through difficulties, as a kind of purifying process as something that they considered a bone in itself. But in reality, that is not the case in Islam,

01:12:07--> 01:12:16

as you may have to go through hardships, in many different cases, and there's going to be benefits to those hardships, but hardshell hardship in itself is not to go.

01:12:17--> 01:12:30

On the contrary, part of the part of the blows of the laws of Islam is actually to bring is and to reduce the hardship upon human beings. So for example, let's have no data that says in the Quran,

01:12:35--> 01:12:41

Allah intends for you is and he does not want to make things difficult for you. Hello also says,

01:12:43--> 01:12:43

lovely

01:13:01--> 01:13:18

to place you in difficulty, but he wants to purify you and to complete this favor on you, that you may be thinking. Another verse a lesson without it says strive hard problems sake, as you ought to strive. He has chosen you and is not laid upon you in religion any harder.

01:13:19--> 01:13:24

And in fact, let's begin with diala describes the problem of cinema as a mercy for all mankind.

01:13:25--> 01:13:43

Cinema was a much broader market that's teaching the lesson what Allah has sent through the problem. So tell him again, hardship difficulties are not the store. But mercy and ease and removing of hardship is part of the characteristics.

01:13:44--> 01:13:46

And you can see this in many of the laws of Islam,

01:13:47--> 01:14:05

even becoming a Muslim, all of you are not allowed to become Muslim, even becoming Muslim. It's an easy process, right? There's no special indoctrination. There's no ceremony that you have to go through. It is just a very simple process, you make the testimony of it. That's it.

01:14:06--> 01:14:26

With respect to that torture, you can find many examples where the laws of Islam demonstrate this principle of making things easy for the people not trying to make harder. Even the head for example, the pilgrimage to Mecca. There's some conditions if you cannot meet them, if you do not have the means to go to Mecca, then you do not have to make Hajj

01:14:28--> 01:14:55

and praying for example, if you're traveling while praying, then you shorten the prayer you can combine the prayers, if you are hurt in any way you can pray sitting and lying down or whatsoever. Fasting the month of Ramadan, if you're sick, you don't fast and so forth all of these, you know for this man what Allah had willed to decree for us that no matter what state you're in, you have to pass it on even even if it's going to kill. Let's all Let's run with that if we

01:14:56--> 01:15:00

could have revealed this law, but instead all it does is that

01:15:00--> 01:15:42

We're sick of her traveling, and we can make up those days at a later time, we don't have to fast. Again, this is part of the ease of the laws of Islam, this message from all Islam with that. Now for the new Muslim, let me just add a footnote here, a very important one, I think it is important to realize that the relaxation in the laws, under certain circumstances, like what we just described, it does not open the door for any individual now now than to say, Well, this was too difficult for me, and this is that so I don't have to apply this, this doesn't require any burden upon me. So I don't have to do this. Obviously, such laws in which the burdens are lessened. These are based on

01:15:44--> 01:16:25

anything that you have to do anything that you're required to do is going to require some effort on your part, right? I mean, if you're going to pray five times a day, you have to get up you have to actually stand and pray and take the time and effort to break. So you could say someone could say, Oh, this is a burden. And that doesn't require any burden. So I don't have to pray. Oh, there's some, there's some limits, or there's some amount of expected. But this is not what we're talking about when we say that the law removes burden from the individual. Because there's a limited amount of burden that is actually good for you. It's actually true. Like they say, No pain, no gain. Well,

01:16:25--> 01:16:41

it's not quite, not quite like that. But in reality, this effort, you're the one benefiting from it. But what the law has removed as any kind of excessive burden, which is, which the benefit is very limited as compared to the actual harm the tourism.

01:16:42--> 01:17:05

So this, this principle is applied within the laws of the chinian. It's not for an individual, and especially not for No, I wouldn't expect a new Muslim, to understand the limits of it and be able to say for himself, okay, this is too much of a burden. I don't have to do it, because the law says that, you know, the law is meant to remove unnecessary burdens and so forth. So be very, very careful about

01:17:07--> 01:17:24

what not for you point I wish to mention, there are other obviously other aspects. One of the very important exceptional features of Islam is that it develops a strong relationship between the creator between Allah subhanho wa Taala and the Creator, the human being.

01:17:25--> 01:17:39

Obviously, the gold and the teachings of Islam go well beyond any legal issues, the laws of Islam and so forth. But it seeks to create a type of individual who has a strong and proper relationship.

01:17:41--> 01:17:44

So inshallah on that point that will end this particular lecture.
