Okay,

00:00:19--> 00:00:22

Yasuda

00:00:42--> 00:00:43

smilla, Rahmanir Rahim.

00:00:45--> 00:00:47

Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen

00:00:48--> 00:00:49

taki

00:00:51--> 00:01:13

alameen wa sallahu wa la ilaha illallah wa ala sharika eyeshadow now Mohammed Abu Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa ala alihi wa sahbihi Omen da vida de he was standing up asuna t la Yomi Deen was seldom to Sleeman kathira Am I bad?

00:01:14--> 00:01:17

All praises due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

00:01:18--> 00:01:21

And surely the best reward is for those who have Taqwa.

00:01:23--> 00:01:27

And surely there is no animosity, except for the oppressor.

00:01:29--> 00:01:38

And I bear witness and olara is one, and has no partners, that Mohammed the son of Abdullah is his servant and his last messenger.

00:01:39--> 00:01:52

May Allah constantly and always send peace and blessings to Mohammed, and to his family, and his companions, and all those who call to his way and establish his son to the Day of Judgment.

00:01:54--> 00:01:59

As to what follows Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

00:02:01--> 00:02:12

I begin will hamdulillah and I bring you the warm salams greetings and feelings of solidarity from your brothers and sisters in South Africa.

00:02:13--> 00:02:25

And I pray that a loss Aparna would make you and make me all successful in this life and would bless us inshallah, to be of those who would enter agenda in the hereafter.

00:02:27--> 00:02:30

No doubt, since the last time I was here with you.

00:02:31--> 00:02:33

The world has changed radically.

00:02:35--> 00:02:48

And the position of Muslims in many parts of the world has gone from being very obscure, to being openly placed in front of the eyes of the people.

00:02:50--> 00:02:53

Muslims are fine finding themselves under pressure,

00:02:55--> 00:03:13

not only in the traditional areas of pressure, but they are finding themselves under pressure even in countries and some of the Western countries where we never expected to feel psychological, physical, emotional, financial pressure.

00:03:14--> 00:03:18

And I seek refuge in the words of Allah subhanho wa Taala

00:03:19--> 00:03:46

who has revealed to his beloved messenger alayhi salatu salam, the best of words and the final revelation. And Allah Subhana tells us ooh Billahi min ash shaytani regime? Yeah, you had Latina amanu in touch taco La Jolla Allah comb for Canon. When you cafe uncom, Seiji RT como yo feiyr.com will la hold on father Alvin and Serato unfiled.

00:03:47--> 00:03:59

Allah subhanaw taala has revealed, oh you who believe if you keep your duty to Allah. If you have Taqwa, he will grant you a criterion

00:04:01--> 00:04:07

and he will release you from your sins and forgive you. And Allah is the Lord of great bounty.

00:04:11--> 00:04:14

Many of the great orlimar have looked into this ayah

00:04:15--> 00:04:24

and I believe it is of special importance to us today with the world being so covered with confusion. And with deception.

00:04:26--> 00:04:29

I'ma show Kenny rahimullah and his federal Kadir

00:04:30--> 00:04:33

speaking through the eyes of many of the football ha

00:04:35--> 00:04:40

has shown us that this photo can because it's saying that if we have Taqwa

00:04:41--> 00:04:43

Allah would make for us the fourth part.

00:04:44--> 00:04:58

This fourth part is the battle galoob workqueue battle basa hostal hedaya that this farrakhan would give us in sha Allah, the battle loop, that Allah would strengthen the hearts

00:05:00--> 00:05:17

couvercle bosiet the law would give us that vision that we need and that pulsera that we need not to look just at superficial things, but to be able to go to the depths of the issues and that Allah would give us hedaya the best of guidance.

00:05:18--> 00:05:21

The four of the four can can also refer to

00:05:22--> 00:05:26

that which separates a hawk middle bottom

00:05:27--> 00:05:44

that which a criterion that separates the truth from falsehood. The fourth con also can refer to an najat min cool Lima Taha, funa, and escape from all that you fear.

00:05:45--> 00:06:01

And so the more we return to Allah subhanaw taala, the more we come closer, the more we surround ourselves in the consciousness of the Creator, the more we connect this higher to dunya with the next life and realize that this life is passing.

00:06:03--> 00:06:10

And that to a certain extent, it is only an illusion, the more we can come to this understanding.

00:06:12--> 00:06:38

This will help us to be able to deal with this pressure to deal with these demons, real false, that are popping up around us and around Muslims and people of consciousness throughout this planet. So I seek refuge in the words of Allah subhanaw taala. And I pray that Allah would plant our feet firmly in the earth, and that Allah would clear our hearts of any fear.

00:06:39--> 00:06:57

And he would replace that fear with taqwa, he will replace that fear with the consciousness of him. So that whatever happens in this world, that as long as we know we have pleased Allah subhanaw taala that inshallah we will be satisfied with the power of Allah. And however it falls,

00:06:58--> 00:07:00

brothers and sisters, friends,

00:07:01--> 00:07:05

billions of dollars are being spent

00:07:06--> 00:07:08

to distort the image of Islam.

00:07:09--> 00:07:12

And we are seeing it now done on an international scale.

00:07:14--> 00:07:21

Even though we know Islam is the religion of peace, we know that it comes from the root Salama.

00:07:22--> 00:07:25

It is seeking peace through submission to the will of Allah.

00:07:26--> 00:07:31

We know that Islam is the way of all of the NBR of all of the prophets

00:07:32--> 00:07:50

that allow sent prophets and messengers to every nation, to every tribe, that this understanding of not submitting to material things, not submitting to desires. This has been shared by people throughout the planet. And it is through this way that human beings found peace,

00:07:51--> 00:08:09

that human beings found a way to relate to each other other than through racialism, or through tribalism, or through class, struggle and class differences. That this way of tawheed this way of the oneness of God, when it comes into the hearts

00:08:11--> 00:08:15

is even greater than police forces, there is no security,

00:08:17--> 00:08:37

higher than the security of the hearts. And if the hearts of human beings are brought close, and we understand our relationship with the Creator of the heavens and the earth, then there would be no need for secret police, there would be no need for these task forces that are put together in order to control people.

00:08:38--> 00:08:43

But Allah knows best that there are people who do not want this,

00:08:44--> 00:08:45

who have another agenda.

00:08:46--> 00:08:54

And so millions and billions are being spent through the airwaves in the media,

00:08:55--> 00:09:00

and the educational systems to try to distort the image of Islam.

00:09:01--> 00:09:11

And while this negative image is being carried out and shown for Muslims, horrific crimes are coming about in our community.

00:09:12--> 00:09:34

And we have seen horrific scenes coming out of Bosnia Herzegovina, horrific scenes from Kosovo in Chechnya. And now we are seeing murder on a wide scale happening in India. Terrible murders, without justice in the land. And we are now witnessing and the whole human population

00:09:36--> 00:09:37

witnesses Janine

00:09:38--> 00:09:47

and witnesses naked aggression. And people being killed and crushed and bleeding to death in front of the media.

00:09:49--> 00:09:51

And the information is beamed around the world.

00:09:52--> 00:09:55

And yet people are not responding.

00:09:57--> 00:09:59

And that is not all the time because of

00:10:01--> 00:10:04

The size of the army

00:10:06--> 00:10:13

in any of the illegal material estates, but in many cases, there is a type of deception.

00:10:14--> 00:10:17

There is something happening in the human family,

00:10:18--> 00:10:30

where individuals have the capability of creating illusions of deluding people. So that even when they see what is true, they can't believe it.

00:10:31--> 00:10:34

Or they're not sure whether it's true or not true.

00:10:35--> 00:10:44

And so we need to ask ourselves and ask the world and, and try to analyze what is going on? What did we do as a nation?

00:10:45--> 00:11:23

Because we pray, because we believe in one God, because we fast, because we don't want to judge people based on their color is this the reason why they are trying to punish us, we have to analyze this to try to understand what is going on around us and to begin to look at issues not just from the superficial side, but to go deeper into issues. And try to understand the symbols and the signs and the groupings of people who are having profound influences upon the human family.

00:11:24--> 00:11:41

We need to look in the Koran, not only for superficial guidance, but we need to believe that the court and gives us historical precedents that it shows us incidents that have happened in history, not just as assets,

00:11:42--> 00:11:53

not just stories and fables of those who came before us. But it shows us this for guidance for understanding about what is happening today.

00:11:55--> 00:12:06

And we need to begin to look at these incidents that have happened to study what happened to the NBR alehissalaam. And to try to see how it relates to us in our own lives.

00:12:08--> 00:12:14

In the oft repeated story of Musa alayhis salaam And Pharaoh around the Pharaoh of Egypt,

00:12:15--> 00:12:25

we see one of the great historical precedents that was set in the court and itself. And when Benny Israel started to get powerful,

00:12:27--> 00:12:36

and the information of Musa alayhis salam came to the upper class ruling councils within Egypt. They came to the federal

00:12:38--> 00:13:06

they came to their leader and they said, What will you do about them? You must have some kind of plan. You must have some way to stop this insurrection going on in the house of Egypt. And the pharaoh own answered, and it is enshrined in Surah two are off in verse 127. And in many places in the port and Kala sanlucar de la abna home when a stallion Isa home was in FOCA home party room,

00:13:07--> 00:13:18

the fair own said we will kill their young boys and keep the women alive. For surely we have irresistible power over them.

00:13:19--> 00:13:21

And so we see the precedent happening.

00:13:22--> 00:14:09

The killing of the youth and the control of the sexuality of the women. And we see it happening today so vividly and Philistine gunned down the young people. If you don't kill them, shoot them in their knees, maimed them, destroy their minds, destroy their bodies, let him drink Coke. Let them be filled with drugs fit fill their mind with confusion. So they will never be able to stand up against the oppression that is happening in the land, control the sexuality of the women and make them think more about their own bodies, more about pleasing people with their physical self. So they won't have time to raise children who would stand up against evil.

00:14:10--> 00:14:29

And so when this information got back to Musa alayhis salaam, we see also enshrined in this in these famous verses. Karla musala comi. He is studying ob la he was Spiro in the out of de la he UD su ha mania Shah evaluate. Well, Rp

00:14:31--> 00:14:52

musar musala salam said to his people, seek your help from Allah and have patience. Surely this earth belongs to Allah, and He will give it to whom he pleases from his servants from his worship is and the best reward in the hereafter. The best reward is for those who have Taqwa.

00:14:54--> 00:14:59

So Musa alayhis salam did not talk about numbers. He did not talk about weapons.

00:15:00--> 00:15:06

But he spoke about something on the inside. While akeeba talking.

00:15:08--> 00:15:09

He spoke about taqwa.

00:15:11--> 00:15:11

And

00:15:14--> 00:15:16

it is interesting that throughout Islamic history,

00:15:17--> 00:15:59

there have been many of the leaders and luminaries in Islam and the scholars of Islam, who looked not only at the outside what was happening, but try to understand the complexity of the inside of the Muslims. Knowing that Allah has said in the law allow you, you do my bit, oh man, what are you how are you, Bobby unforeseen law will not change the condition of a people till they change that which is in themselves, not change it to the positive until they change that which is in themselves and in other in other interpretations. If they are going positive, and they change themselves into negative than Allah will punish them.

00:16:00--> 00:16:09

So either way that you look at it, change will not come about. We cry for change, we make dua,

00:16:10--> 00:16:14

we cry and I'm a sajit. We cry in our houses.

00:16:15--> 00:16:20

But Allah will not change us until we change that which is in ourselves.

00:16:21--> 00:16:30

And so we need to begin to look inside, taqwa, we know is a combination of factors.

00:16:32--> 00:16:34

Mainly alhaja.

00:16:36--> 00:16:39

It is a combination of fear, and of hope.

00:16:41--> 00:16:44

And fear and hope, are stimuli.

00:16:45--> 00:16:48

They are things that call you to action that push you to action.

00:16:50--> 00:16:54

And one of the great scholars of Islam even Kodama makdessi, Rahim Allah,

00:16:55--> 00:17:04

in his manhandled posse Deen. There's even Okm Rahim Allah many of the scholars tried to understand these terminologies in a deeper way.

00:17:05--> 00:17:07

But in this particular texts,

00:17:09--> 00:17:14

the scholar tells us a home for rajasa economy. yamasa Allah, Allah, Allah,

00:17:15--> 00:17:25

Allah, Allah lamalfa for Hua Hua, he said that fear and hope to stimuli, they stimulate you to action.

00:17:27--> 00:17:32

And that which does not stimulate you to action, it is deception.

00:17:33--> 00:17:36

Fear makes you run from something,

00:17:37--> 00:17:49

when you hope in something, you move towards it. So you are actively involved. But the issue of deception, one of the big issues in deception is when we are stagnated.

00:17:51--> 00:18:13

When we are looking good, when we look, our numbers look large, but it has no impact. And people have looked at the Muslim world, they said, you know, you have everything and you have money. You have leadership, you have armies, you have strategic position, you have everything. And it's like a beautiful vehicle that is standing there looking good. But there's no petrol in it.

00:18:14--> 00:18:24

He's in his Lamborghini, and he's ready to drive. And everybody's sitting at the stoplight in there waiting for him to go. And they look at him and the light turns green. And he's looking good, and he's going nowhere.

00:18:26--> 00:18:27

But he's looking good.

00:18:29--> 00:18:39

He's looking like he's gonna win the race. So this is what we need to consider about ourself. Because the body of Islam, to a great extent, has all the potential

00:18:41--> 00:18:49

to set the stage for this century, to govern over the peoples of the earth. But yet some type of Voodoo war

00:18:50--> 00:19:10

is happening now. And this war is a general thing. And there is a specific thing and we want to try to understand deception, to look at some of the levels of deception, the types of deception and the danger and how it can make us look good and go nowhere. And looking at deception there are many different meanings for this term.

00:19:11--> 00:19:15

Some of the meanings translated into English could be illusion,

00:19:16--> 00:19:18

or delusion

00:19:19--> 00:19:20

or conceit.

00:19:21--> 00:19:23

It also could mean danger.

00:19:24--> 00:19:29

And it could also mean vanities, or it could mean the shaytaan was able to build up

00:19:30--> 00:19:44

and even Kodama Rahim Allah He told us, the photo is Maja vooral in Zen. Min mal with Jada was she was shower was shaytaan anything

00:19:45--> 00:19:49

that deceives the person, whether it's the wealth,

00:19:50--> 00:19:52

whether it is your position,

00:19:54--> 00:19:59

whether it is desires, or whether it is the shape, taught himself whether he will be law

00:20:00--> 00:20:19

You will see houda coming many in many forms in the court and itself in Alli Emraan, we see in part of the IRS says what mal hayata dunya illa metalphoto, that the life of this world is nothing but material deception.

00:20:20--> 00:20:34

Allah tells us we're not yet at home with a shaytaan illa, who Torah, and that the shaitaan promises them nothing but deception. It's an illusion here today, and it's gone tomorrow.

00:20:35--> 00:21:04

And you see many different verses dealing with this. And the general form of Moodle, we see being carried out within the Western society, which now through globalization has influenced people all throughout the planet. And we see people being caught up with the hierarchy dunya struggling for wealth, struggling back and forth, and even this deception of wealth, this danger of wealth is in the Muslim world.

00:21:05--> 00:21:25

And it may be one of the biggest fitness that we face today. And the prophet SAW Selim has told us clearly in the liquidly, oma fitna will fit not to have the hill, oma Alma, every nation has a trial as a temptation. And the trial and temptation of this nation is wealth.

00:21:26--> 00:21:34

But the general form of Gouda we need to try to understand. So there is a form of hudl that happens to people.

00:21:35--> 00:22:04

And it is really carried out you really see an extreme version of this, that comes about with casinos, and with gambling. Because this is where you see the raw nature of people coming out. That greed and that desire to win something that is an illusion. And 99.9% of them are losing all of their money. But they keep going back thinking that they're gonna win. And some foolish Muslims, they think they're gonna win to

00:22:05--> 00:22:29

one Muslim even came to me. And he won. He actually won, I don't know about $20,000 or something like that. And you can see brother Abdullah, please let me have a fair to a brother. I mean, I'll pay my cat or pay my as a cat. I can't give you a fair comment. If you win something in the lotto. If you win something by gambling, it's Haram. And I can't give you a fetch off of this.

00:22:30--> 00:22:44

But this Hurrah we saw carried out in Canada, a young woman won in the lottery, the Ontario lottery, she won $21 million.

00:22:45--> 00:22:50

Now imagine that $21 million. She went overnight. She's a millionaire.

00:22:51--> 00:23:25

But she came on television that night with her father. The father had some wisdom. And he said, may God help us? May God help us. The next day, they were frantically calling the family. They wanted to marry the girl. They wanted to move in next door to the house. They start threatening their lives. And so he had to take his daughter and hide, change their identity and go underground. So the money that was supposed to free them, put them in prison. Well, manhyia to dunya is lamotta

00:23:27--> 00:24:03

material deception. In Britain, I remember a man 121 all about 20 million British pounds in the lottery. And the whole of the country stood still. He's in paradise. He's in heaven. He has everything that he wants. And then his knifes took over his nap. So I'm out of the suit. And they describe it's a real thing. It was an article he starts eating food. He started importing food and eating food and eating food until he gained weight and became about 310 pounds and he dropped dead.

00:24:05--> 00:24:06

Malhotra dunya

00:24:07--> 00:24:13

ilimitado. So the money that was supposed to give him life took his life.

00:24:14--> 00:24:21

It's a deception. You think the money is liberating you. But it's not liberating you you don't get something for nothing.

00:24:22--> 00:24:33

It's a deception known it's put out in front of the people. So the people live with this dream, and they continue to play the lottery. They continue to gamble thinking

00:24:34--> 00:24:35

that they will be successful.

00:24:36--> 00:25:00

But what is interesting for us tonight is not just the general form of this deception. We want to go to the specific with the Muslims. And it is always good within our series. And anything that we do that we start with ourselves in the law, you know might be pohlman hot Are you gay, you might be unforeseen we need

00:25:00--> 00:25:01

To start with ourselves.

00:25:02--> 00:25:24

And the scholars looked into many different categories of Gouda. We want to talk about a few of them tonight. There is one form where the people are deceived bisola about him, that they are deceived by the goodness and righteousness of their families. So they think that because of their family, they're saved.

00:25:26--> 00:26:09

And so they say, No, no, no, I don't have to make a lot. My father used to mix a lot. My father was a great Harlem. We come from a long line of scholars. I don't have to get up for pleasure. He is deceived. No, my mother used to give us a cat. Why do I have to give a cat? We are an important family. And we built the most we built the center. Why do I have to give us a cat. This is deception. This is where the Voodoo war comes in. Because he is now stagnated because of the issue of his family, that should actually inspire him to do more. It becomes turned around, and because of his family, or his nationality, or his village, he thinks that he's saved. And this is a form of

00:26:09--> 00:26:11

deception that is in our oma.

00:26:12--> 00:26:52

And it is even reached the point that we had people who call themselves Shetty. And we have great respect for the family of the Prophet alayhi salatu salam, but some people are running around playing like they are nobleman or they are saints and they think they can do anything because they have that name. Even some of the rulers are countries some corrupt tyrants, who have ruled countries claimed to be from the family of the prophets, Allah Salah, but your blood alone is not enough. Because if it was enough, then let us look back at the time of North alayhis salaam. Look at the son of Nora Alayhi Salam who drowned with the other people.

00:26:54--> 00:26:56

Look at the wife of loot alehissalaam

00:26:58--> 00:27:13

look at many of the NBR and you will see that some of their parents even though they were prophets, some of their parents are in hellfire. And if you look at Banu Hashim, you will see that Abu lahab the father of the flames, is Hashi meat.

00:27:14--> 00:27:19

He has the royal blood, but he is burning in hell.

00:27:20--> 00:27:27

And his name will be now on the lips of Muslims to the Day of Judgment. Even though he Sharif

00:27:28--> 00:27:29

if you want to go by blood.

00:27:30--> 00:27:33

And so the family is one way that a person could be confused.

00:27:35--> 00:27:44

Another form of Hurrah also comes in when the person has the Muslim has Hassan and say he at he has taught at MRC.

00:27:46--> 00:28:09

So he has good deeds and he thinks well, I have a lot of good deeds. So even though his bad deeds might be more than the good deeds, he is deceived by the shaytaan. Well, he has to be law. He is deceived, and he thinks that because he has these good deeds, he doesn't have to worry about the other ones. He doesn't need to make Toba or he'll wait 30 years, and then he'll make his Toba. He is being deceived.

00:28:10--> 00:28:13

In some cases, he gets up in the morning.

00:28:14--> 00:28:16

And he makes his took a fire 100 times.

00:28:18--> 00:28:20

And he starts counting his Baraka

00:28:21--> 00:28:32

or he goes in the mosque, and then he makes extent is that far at a certain time of day? And he says no, it's 27 times 1000 times six times this and he gets his calculator discountenance us on that.

00:28:33--> 00:28:37

Right? So by nine o'clock in the morning, he's already agenda.

00:28:39--> 00:29:06

The rest of the day, he's cursing, he's backbiting he scandalizing he's calling the mom names and trying to scandalized this organization and talk about that organization. But he thinks that because he made his default 100 times that he's free, he saved he is deceived. He does not he does not know that the process of Solomon said lejano Jenna know, Mom,

00:29:08--> 00:29:15

that the person carrying scandal will not enter Paradise. He should never forget that.

00:29:17--> 00:29:22

And so the deception can come even to a believer who has done righteous deeds.

00:29:24--> 00:29:26

But they took it a step step further.

00:29:28--> 00:29:29

Even the older man

00:29:30--> 00:29:34

can be deceived. And we are living in a time

00:29:35--> 00:29:48

when many of the Olimar many of the so called scholars, that the knowledge is actually not being given out in the proper way that the knowledge could actually end up being on any person. It could be a curse on them Yokoyama.

00:29:50--> 00:29:58

And so the scholar can also be deceived, as we have found from the great scholars. When the scholar he knows about hoorah

00:30:00--> 00:30:01

He can tell you the idea.

00:30:03--> 00:30:04

He can explain it to you.

00:30:05--> 00:30:08

But he thinks that because he's a chef, it doesn't apply to him.

00:30:09--> 00:30:21

It only applies to the awam it only applies to the general people. He doesn't remember that a lot. A lot told us insert two, chumps got a floor ha man Zakah

00:30:23--> 00:30:30

that the one who purifies His heart is the one who succeeds, not the one who knows about purity.

00:30:31--> 00:30:38

But the one who actively is involved in purifying himself. That is the one

00:30:39--> 00:30:46

who was successful. He doesn't remember that Allah told us in circle Juma and he makes this

00:30:48--> 00:30:57

this test to be this this this description, he tells us what we could become. He said, commercial hammer, yummy Lu, as far as

00:30:58--> 00:31:02

that you can be like a donkey, with books on his back.

00:31:03--> 00:31:11

The donkeys riding he's got Tafseer, he's got Bukhari and Muslim. He's got everything on his back, but he can't read.

00:31:12--> 00:31:23

So he's just moving along carrying the knowledge, and the knowledge is of no benefit to him. And so this Hurrah can happen even to the people of knowledge.

00:31:24--> 00:31:34

And we could take it a step further. There are even those whose the complexity of Guru goes to the point where they know the ayah.

00:31:35--> 00:31:53

And they apply the Quran to their superficial self, they do some of the outward rituals of Islam, they are doing their rituals, but they do not apply the knowledge to their hearts. They stop on the outside.

00:31:55--> 00:32:25

And so even though they know what deception is, they still have tolerable or aloof. They want power and position. They can't control the shower. They can't control their desires. They can't control their material needs, even though they know that it is wrong. But they don't apply it to their hearts It is like and the example is giving is like a person, he looks in his backyard, and he has grass and weeds.

00:32:26--> 00:32:33

So he cuts the grass and he sees the weeds. And so he cuts the weeds, but he only cuts it on the surface.

00:32:34--> 00:32:48

And he says now, now my garden is perfect. I can't see the weeds, but he didn't go to the root of the wheat. And by not going to the root it will grow up again. Next time it'll grow even stronger.

00:32:49--> 00:33:04

So he needs to go to the root of the issue. right down to the heart. And this is one of the crucial points. How can it last the Potala give us authority in the land? If we have to cub board?

00:33:05--> 00:33:14

If we have arrogance and pride in our hearts? How would Allah give us power in the land if we look down on people, even as a Muslim because of their color?

00:33:15--> 00:33:35

Or because of their language? Or because of the economic status? How can we expect Allah subhanaw taala to give us a dart? How can we expect Allah subhanaw taala to give us victory if we have high sat? And we are so jealous of each other? Always looking back at each other? What material progress did he make? Did she have a new baby?

00:33:36--> 00:34:14

Okay, if you want one, that's fine. But if you hate the fact that another Muslim has a baby or another Muslim has a new car or they made some progress, the masjid has a new carpet in it. If you hate that, then the Hassan destroys everything. And so we could be fasting we could be praying we could be going to Hajj Panza cat, as opposed to Salam said er como hacer for nl hacer dacula Zanetti, comma taco de nada hardtop. Beware of jealousy and envy, it eats up your good deeds, like a fire eats up firewood.

00:34:16--> 00:34:19

And so the hasard can destroy us from the inside.

00:34:21--> 00:34:23

This guru also

00:34:25--> 00:34:27

can take an interesting form.

00:34:28--> 00:34:39

And I was shocked to read in books there are over sometimes 1000 years old, and to find issues that are very similar to what is happening in our own community.

00:34:41--> 00:34:50

And I say this with all humility, to the movement leaders that we have. But our Islamic movements should be bringing us together.

00:34:51--> 00:35:00

Our Islamic movements need to unite us on the truth needs to be humble and sincere and bring the Muslims together.

00:35:00--> 00:35:17

This is what we need in these times, strong examples, not just his, on other Muslims, but his alleged caffeine, that standing up in front of of the disbelievers and the haters of truth, but there is a form of Hurrah that is mentioned by the scholars,

00:35:18--> 00:35:23

where the person spends all their time on Elon Musk laugh

00:35:25--> 00:35:50

that he gets the books of fic he gets the books of aqidah. And he only studies the differences between this scholar and that scholar. So he becomes a master in showing you the differences between that and that. And he can actually point out a difference and tell you 10 mils for this thing, he can tell you the opinion of debt, and he can't even make salad right.

00:35:51--> 00:36:01

But intimacy laugh. And so what happens is, many of our young people get caught up fighting each other over triviality.

00:36:02--> 00:36:22

Now, there are some points which are very important, but the difference of opinion should not make you hate another Muslim. It should not make you threaten the life of another Muslim. Then what is the purpose of it? And the prophet SAW Selim has told us ma de la Coleman UT pada, Huda Illa, una Jetta

00:36:23--> 00:36:31

that people would not go astray after guidance, until they were given the ability to argue with each other.

00:36:33--> 00:36:34

The ability to argue

00:36:36--> 00:36:41

when our energy should not be spent on arguments that we need to go forward.

00:36:42--> 00:36:48

Because we are in a deep struggle now, whether we know it or not. And if you're in a hot struggle, a hot battle,

00:36:50--> 00:36:57

and the bullets are flying, and people are dying, and a Muslim comes on your side, and you look at him, Are you gonna say what method by you brother?

00:37:00--> 00:37:00

What does it matter?

00:37:02--> 00:37:03

You have a Muslim on your side.

00:37:05--> 00:37:08

It doesn't matter where he sits in timeout, and he moves his finger or not.

00:37:10--> 00:37:15

If they have de Lille, if there is part of Alexandre Jamal, what is the problem.

00:37:16--> 00:37:25

But some people are so overly heavy, they are actually tilting towards their whole life is based on a laugh

00:37:26--> 00:37:37

on finding what is wrong with other Muslims and attacking them and shooting them down and destroying them and breaking up their organization. You don't have to have Mossad.

00:37:38--> 00:37:43

You don't have to have these organizations, man. Just let loose some of these twisted Muslims on them.

00:37:45--> 00:37:58

And so the great scholars of Islam 1000 years ago set, it is hoorah it is hurrah. It is deception. And we need to look at this, before we even look outside.

00:37:59--> 00:38:09

Another group spends their time and they really into this thing and it is happening. And may Allah help them they spend their time on maharjan roof.

00:38:10--> 00:38:24

So they learn as much wheat and they are reading how to pronounce the hearth. And so he spends all his time on mythology of truth. And he learns to to pronounce it perfectly. And he never reads the meaning of the Quran.

00:38:25--> 00:38:36

So he knows how to say it, but he's not putting it into his own life. And the prophets are seldom said the time would come when people would read the Quran and melodious tones, and it wouldn't pass their throats.

00:38:38--> 00:38:39

It wouldn't pass their throat

00:38:41--> 00:38:45

sadaqa Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:38:46--> 00:38:50

Others read or spend their time in the human self.

00:38:52--> 00:39:08

And they learn the rules of now. And we need to know these rules of grammar we need to know it. But if the whole day is spent upon now and sort of and people are dying, and they're dying in the streets, and you're arguing about the struggle between the poofy and the bustling, and Grandma,

00:39:09--> 00:39:11

people are dying in the streets.

00:39:12--> 00:39:40

So we need to come out of this Moodle. It is the first deception. It is the first and most lethal form of deception that we are facing. It is the essence of the struggle with this code that is going on today. Because I believe strongly and Allah knows best that this oma is moving toward the front. And this Omar has the potential to lead the world. But we need to try to repair ourselves.

00:39:41--> 00:39:43

And I want to leave you with a few points.

00:39:44--> 00:39:50

One is that we need to renew our relationship with Allah.

00:39:51--> 00:39:58

We need to renew our relationship constantly, and to try to humble ourselves in front of the Creator of the heavens in the earth.

00:40:00--> 00:40:21

To try try to build up the taqwa that our consciousness of Allah will not be only when we are in elections, but only when we are around other Muslims, that even if we are by ourselves, even if we are downtown, and the time comes for salaat, we look for a place to make salaat. Even if we're downtown in the mall,

00:40:23--> 00:40:25

we don't only pray inside of the masjid.

00:40:26--> 00:40:29

And so we need to get to build that taqwa inside of ourselves.

00:40:30--> 00:40:49

We also need to seek authentic Islamic knowledge, to try to base our understandings upon the great self of this oma, who have given us authentic guidance, and not to necessarily base our lives upon dreams.

00:40:50--> 00:40:55

And no doubt there is something in the dreams, but it is not the basis of our lives.

00:40:56--> 00:41:11

Not based upon the length of a person's beard. in Cape Town now we have all times all types of people running around Alhamdulillah Allah has blessed us with many massages, 120 massages in just one city and it's in its suburbs.

00:41:12--> 00:41:27

But all types of movements and now you got to watch out because people are coming with giant beards and giant poofy is on the head and turbans that are like you know, two feet wide and they're coming in now and people are fooled at the size. They're measuring the turbans now

00:41:28--> 00:41:29

who's got the biggest one?

00:41:31--> 00:41:34

be fooled by Don't be fooled by the turban.

00:41:35--> 00:41:39

Don't be fooled, because sometimes it's the opposite.

00:41:41--> 00:42:01

And if we are really supposed to humble ourselves to Allah subhanaw taala, then why would we even try to do that, to be struggling against each other in this type of thing. So we need to strengthen that taqwa within ourselves, and to try to look for the type of authentic knowledge that can help us separate Islam from culture,

00:42:02--> 00:42:20

Islam culture, because our cultures are many times not Islamic. And many times we are doing things because we saw our parents do it. We are doing things because this is the way of our people, not because it is the way of the Sahaba and the early generations. Number three,

00:42:22--> 00:42:38

that we need to ask Allah for hikma for wisdom. And surely in these times, it is that hikma that balance that tuazon that we need in these times, because one of the dangers about Omar again in deception is to go to extremes.

00:42:39--> 00:42:58

But we need that balance to be able to make the right decisions as the Arabs would say, what is shaping mahali putting things in the proper place. The Colima Carmen McCall for every situation you're in, there is the right thing to say is like a doctor when the doctor sees his patient.

00:42:59--> 00:43:42

And if the doctor would just look at you and say, Okay, take this medicine here, my friend. He might give you the wrong medicine is not enough and you still sick or he might give you too much and kill you. But no takes your temperature. He takes your weight. He asked you about your history. He feels your pulse. Right and after he gathers this information now along with his knowledge of medicine, then he makes this decision. That's the hikma so we shouldn't be going into situations where we don't know the circumstances around us. That you need to have patience to relax and to go into the situations. You know, you know with the sub. And with Basia now look at everything. Try to look

00:43:42--> 00:43:52

through the lines. Don't just judge people on the hip. Don't just judge on the superficial things that we see. So we need to ask and pray to Allah for the heckler.

00:43:53--> 00:44:14

Next we need to focus more on Islamic character on Warhammer law. And for a long time we focused on a bat that we focused on how to make salaat how to pay zakat how to fast how to make Hajj and definitely that is the basis. But now there is a great need for Islamic character.

00:44:16--> 00:44:44

Because we are under the spotlight, and you will be surprised to know that even though in America, where it seems to be so bad for Muslims in New York City, right in New York City itself, in many parts of America, you can't get a copy of the court and you cannot get a copy every single English copy is has been sold out. In Brazil, I received message every Portuguese translation of the Quran and Brazil has been sold out.

00:44:45--> 00:44:53

Everybody wants to read this book. So out of this evil out of this action, which I don't believe that any of us did.

00:44:54--> 00:45:00

And Alon knows best who did and I do not feel that it is a victory for Islam. It is a tactic

00:45:00--> 00:45:34

action that was done and 1000s of Muslims might have died in those flames. But out of that evil that went on on that day, Allah is bringing us closer to where we need to be. And maybe we need to have some pressure on us. Maybe life has become too easy for us. So we need to study the character the prophet SAW someone he told us boys to leave. Mima macadam one o'clock, I have been set to complete the best of character. So you need to look at our character, man. You can't fast in the month of Ramadan. And as soon as show welcomes, you start swearing.

00:45:36--> 00:45:49

A person goes to Hodge and comes back to his shop and then he raises the prices on people. he cheats people after he just made hoche Then why did they make Hutch just to just to put Haji for landfill land on his shop.

00:45:54--> 00:46:16

Number five, we need to strive for unity. How many times is Allah told us while testing will be humble Elijah Mian wala tarraco ordered us to hold on to the rope of Allah together, don't be divided how many places we've been told us. So we need to work for unity. In the same way that many jamaats work for this unity.

00:46:17--> 00:46:26

Work for the show, he laughs We need to now do work, to come together with other Muslims and to love and appreciate the people of the Qibla.

00:46:28--> 00:46:41

And the great Football Hall of Islam, if they had a difference of opinion with each other, they would give naseeha politely and they would make to offer that person they would make to offer the person and not curse the person and scandalize their name.

00:46:42--> 00:47:29

So we need to work towards seeking this unity in the ranks of the believers. Number six, we need to have a positive approach, a positive approach, not a negative approach. It seems difficult, no doubt. And in the Battle of the duck, you can recall that the armies of the Azov were coming from Mecca to surround the Muslims to destroy the Muslims. And they were big, they were digging a trench. And they came to a stone they couldn't break it. They asked for rasulillah so sell them and he came in he hit the stone. And he saw a flash and he said I see the empires of Persia opening up the empires of Roma opening up. And imagine the same like empires of Rome and Persia would be about to

00:47:29--> 00:47:45

be attacked by almost 20,000 Haha, wild Bedouins but see how positive he was? In the most difficult circumstances, the greater picture, the greater the ultimate goal, and not just caught up on the pain of depressant.

00:47:46--> 00:47:53

So we need to have a positive approach as opposed to someone would say yes, SEIU allowed to a zero. But Shirou allowed to

00:47:55--> 00:48:08

make things easy, don't make it difficult. call people to Islam, don't drive them away. And lastly, I believe that now is the time that we need to go public,

00:48:09--> 00:48:44

not to hide that we need to come out in the schools in the universities in any possible way and explain the beautiful aspects of Islam and distance Islam from any confusion coming out of Akuma distance Islam and show the lies that are coming out of Hollywood and the lies that are coming on the media. Because Surely, the ultimate goal is Allah And surely Allah is the one who will decide who will rule this earth. As musala salaam said very clearly

00:48:46--> 00:49:15

is that you know Billa he was bitten in now out of de la he Ud suha manga minibar de bollocky battling Mata Ki, seek your help from Allah and have patience. Surely this earth belongs to Allah, and He will give it to whom he pleases from his servants his worship is and the best reward is for those who have Taqwa. Aku lowpoly howdah Rostock for lolly walakum wa salaamu alaykum warahmatullahi

00:49:21--> 00:49:33

smilla rahmanir rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa sallahu wa salam ala Fatima and vi were more Celine Seder, Mohammed Ali, he was off the edge My bad.

00:49:37--> 00:50:00

There were a number of questions, some that were repeating themselves, and also some that were a little bit distant from the topic. So we've tried to bring together those that that could be a benefit and those where there is a possible response to it. And the issue of deception I mean what I am attempting

00:50:00--> 00:50:20

to do with this with this study is not to give you the final conclusion concerning deception. And its many forms, but to try to open up this issue in your minds, because it is something that could take a person a whole lifetime, to try to understand the complexities about what is happening in this world.

00:50:21--> 00:50:34

And there is so much deception going on at different levels within society. And I don't claim to have all of the answers to this, I claim to be a student, of the present world situation that we are living in.

00:50:35--> 00:50:50

And I hope in sha Allah that Allah will bless you and people of conscience, especially from the Muslim Ummah, to be able to clear their vision, and to get good insight as to what is happening in the world.

00:50:51--> 00:51:01

One of the questions is saying, What do you mean by there will be a time when people will recite the Quran, in melodious tones, but it won't go past their throats.

00:51:03--> 00:51:05

Basically, what this means is that

00:51:06--> 00:51:51

the prophet SAW Selim is talking about the time would come when people would be reading the Quran, in very beautiful melodious ways, even following the rules of touch read, but it would not go to their heart, meaning it would not affect them. So if Allah is saying, a payment, Salah will add to Sokka established prayer, and you should also give Zakat, and a person reads this. And other people are listening say, Allah, Allah, when he reads the verse, and then as it comes, and they don't mix a lot, or the person reads the Koran itself, you know, reads it in a very beautiful tone, and, and he and he doesn't pay a cat. So he's read it in a beautiful way, but he didn't apply. It didn't apply

00:51:51--> 00:52:34

to himself. And when the early Sahaba rhodiola, one who used to deal with the Quran, they would deal with it Ayah by ayah, section by section, small amounts and practice, not large amounts just to read like parents, right, but you're reading it for a number of, you know, you're reading it not only for the the tilava. But to double it, it's been a while, maybe you're reading it to reflect on the verses, and to put it into practice. And so this time has come that we are living in. And you know, you've seen many situations where people you know, are, you know, moaning and groaning when the Quran is being read. And as soon as it's done, they go right out and disobey Allah.

00:52:36--> 00:52:46

So really, that is not, you know, this tun zeal came not as a nice song, you know, you could listen to a Michael Jackson or somebody and cry.

00:52:47--> 00:53:26

It's not like music that you do people listen to, and it changes their emotions. This is the words count. This is Columbia Law. This is the words of Allah subhanaw taala. And it's supposed to affect us, not only emotionally, but it should affect us in our life. The other question is, how does somebody purify their heart? Now, this is an issue that the great scholars of Islam have studied, you know, for many centuries, and in the Quran, and in the Hadith, sayings of the Prophet, peace be upon them, there is much guidance. And what happens with many of the issues is that the scholar will look at, for instance, the diseases of the heart. So they will, they will describe to you the

00:53:26--> 00:54:11

problem, and then they will, they will show you what is the way to fight this problem. Like, for instance, one of the diseases is takabuti Kibriya, like pride and arrogance. And so they say, if you're proud of yourself, you're proud of your clothing, you're proud of you the way you look and who you are, and whatnot. That you know, some of they said, number one, you should reflect upon yourself in relationship to Allah. Really think about this, because no matter how beautiful you think you are now, we all came from a very ugly place in the sense that nobody wants to look like what we look like. When when we were being formed in the, in the in the womb of the mother. Also, we

00:54:11--> 00:54:17

one day we will all return to the earth. And when we die, nobody wants to follow you down into that hole.

00:54:18--> 00:54:31

So really, what do we have to be proud about? When this life is only a fleeting thing? So the scholars say remember yourself in relationship to the Creator of the heavens and the earth. If you have too much

00:54:33--> 00:54:37

pride, then one of the action ways serve people.

00:54:38--> 00:54:49

You serve people, you think you're big and proud and you're a special person, then you take some time, you invite some people over your house, or you go to an occasion and you serve them you serve the food.

00:54:50--> 00:54:59

So you're no longer the big archief and the big Shetty from the big queen. You serve the food to the other people Humble yourself to other Muslims. wear clothing, you know

00:55:00--> 00:55:36

That is not so nice, sometimes be humble and simple sometimes. And then this way, you know, it fights off that false pride that comes into the heart, the hazard, we have to remember if jealousy is in our heart, you have to remember that if somebody has some good in their life, it is a gift from Allah subhanaw taala. And really money and wealth is not necessarily a blessing. In many cases, money is a curse. And it is coming to our ummah. And there are some parts of the nation who had strong masculine people, strong, feminine, good Muslims. And when they got some money, they changed.

00:55:37--> 00:56:17

Their whole outlook changed. And they became arrogant. And this has happened throughout our history. Maybe this is why the Prophet peace be upon him has said that every nation there is a test and the test of this nation is wealth, right? There's too much is like getting too much wealth. So you need to read there are a number of texts that go into the Murat loop, the diseases of the hearts, you know, what are the cures, you need to find, try to find some of these texts, you know, but but I think, you know, really, the essence of it is, you know, your intentions. And, you know, it's not a complicated definition in the sense that we need to really purify ourselves and humble ourselves

00:56:17--> 00:56:22

before. If we do this, then we can begin to look at other creations in another way.

00:56:23--> 00:56:24

Another question is saying,

00:56:26--> 00:56:29

Is it better to stay in the West, or to make digital

00:56:30--> 00:57:11

to the land of the Muslims? Really now, you know, there's a saying that began about 20 years ago or so. And now it's really come to fruit in the sense that the whole world is like a global village. Okay, and really, you know, the, the barriers between countries and cultures have decreased and have changed radically, especially in the past 10 years, with the, with the Internet, and with the the, the the communication systems that people are sharing throughout the planet. So really, at this point, you know, there's no east and the west like it used to be there's no east and west. And some of the Muslim countries, I'm sorry to say it are more oppressive than living right here in

00:57:11--> 00:57:17

Australia. Because in Australia, and in South Africa, I can say that from South Africa also, you know,

00:57:18--> 00:57:20

there are there are people who can reason with people.

00:57:21--> 00:57:38

But in some of our own countries ruled by tyrants, you can't reason with them. If you disagree with them, they throw you in jail. You forget about lawyer, lawyer, that's a joke, man, some of these kinds of lawyer, you mentioned noon or something lawyer, what is this?

00:57:40--> 00:58:25

You know, so I mean, you know, you have to, we have to respect, you know, the fact of the goodness in some of the countries that we live in, and what you have to recognize is that Islam is not something which is just controlled by Muslims, because part of Islamic culture, the establishment of justice, the car D, the judge and the system in the courts and whatnot. This was passed by Muslims, in Andalusia to the Spanish, and then the Spanish, passing it on to other European cultures, so many of the laws, even in this country, in the setup of the courts, and the educational system, much of this comes directly from Muslims themselves. So, you know, there are some Islamic tendencies in this

00:58:25--> 00:58:32

country itself in the people of this country. This is why I say when you give Dawa, you have to realize that every person is born as a Muslim.

00:58:34--> 00:59:17

They are they have the ability to submit to the Creator is within every human being, it is not the property of any master race. Allah has sent prophets and messengers, messengers to every tribe. And so we should try to appreciate that fact. And, you know, we need to try to practice Islam, you know, in the best way, wherever we are. Because at this point in time, there is no real country that can say it is a it is an Islamic State. We don't have any Islamic states that you can just go to, you know, when you go to the Muslim world, and they say, raise your visa, Tasha, come, come, yo, you know, we how many days say come home, I'm Muslim? Yo, my [???]ter is la li la la. Why are you asking

00:59:17--> 00:59:22

me for a visa? But no, they weren't visas. If your visa is up, out,

00:59:24--> 00:59:27

you know, so this is the reality. So wherever we are,

00:59:28--> 00:59:30

you know, we need to practice Islam wherever we are.

00:59:31--> 00:59:50

Not because we're in a western country and Eastern country, we practice you know, wherever we are, you know, there was a person in in Canada in Toronto, a sister came to me and she was very upset. And she said that there was in the sisters section which is on the second floor, that you know, this brother was up by the sister section and it was Juma.

00:59:52--> 00:59:54

So one of the sisters

00:59:55--> 00:59:59

went to this person she was coming in and she saw this person said go down once you go to the brothers

01:00:00--> 01:00:20

What are you doing here? He said, I don't have to make Joomla. She said Why? She says, because this is this is real. I mean, I don't know if there's something wrong with him. But this is what he said. He said, I don't have to make Joomla. Because, you know, I'm not in my country. And because I'm not in my country, I can't have to harder, I can't have.

01:00:21--> 01:00:22

So I don't have to make Juma.

01:00:24--> 01:00:37

So he thinks that if he only in the Muslim country he can make the harder you can make with him. And he can make a lot. And then anytime he's outside. So what does that mean? So what happens if you die outside of the Muslim world? In lillahi,

01:00:38--> 01:00:50

the verse says, the whole earth is a loss. anywhere on the earth you are, you can make salaat. That is the difference between us. And one of the differences between us and the other nations.

01:00:52--> 01:01:03

Another question is saying if I want a prize of money that I am, I got it by luck, can I accept it, I never went near gambling and never thought of it. You see, everybody has a test.

01:01:04--> 01:01:29

And your test is really shaped and measured for you. As well as mine is shaped and measured for me. And one day will lie I received this thing. And it said, Mr. Abdullah Hakim quick, you have won a prize. And I want you to come down to the hotel and pick it up, come and pick it up. And we will give you a prize. And if you answer the right question, you might get a free trip to Hawaii and a new

01:01:30--> 01:01:31

Toyota.

01:01:34--> 01:02:10

And so they said I won this prize. And really Magnus was saying that istockphoto law, you know, he's going to ask you a question. You know, whatever, maybe this is not, you know, the things that are by chance, you throw the dice, you roll the numbers, you know, whatever like that. This is not Islamic man, that that we should be, you know, you can with skills, you run a race, everybody puts down $5, the winner of the race takes all of the money. But you don't stand on the side and say I put $5 on saved because he's big and he's gonna win the race. Now,

01:02:11--> 01:02:16

that's gambling. So in any form, we need to try to avoid this. Because this is a test.

01:02:17--> 01:02:25

It says are you highlighted the importance of the need for Islamic unity? What is your opinion in terms of the Quran and the Sunnah,

01:02:27--> 01:03:04

in the setup of the Islamic Cooperation society, to help remedy the problems of the Islamic community, definitely, the basis of unity would be the book of Allah and the Sunnah of the prophet SAW something. If a person is not underneath these two things, then it's very difficult to unite islamically with that person, because the prophet SAW Selim said, I have left you two things, if you follow them, you will never go astray. And that is the book of Allah, and my sooner and my way. So these are the only two things that he left that we would never go astray by following it is the basis of our faith, and it should be the basis of the unity. Now there may be varying

01:03:04--> 01:03:28

understandings, you know, within the book of Allah and within the Sunnah. And we need to have an editable ft laugh, that we need to have the etiquettes of different if we differ with somebody, you need to differ with politeness. And we need to look at the dilemma that the veal that is there, and we need to have respect for other people and their opinions. And if you if they disagree, you're even if you're right, then you say Alhamdulillah you make to offer the person leave.

01:03:29--> 01:03:34

Okay, maybe Allah would guide them to the truth. And so you need to try to

01:03:36--> 01:03:57

make a unity. But you have to remember that who they are even your man read the law when he said to the products and sell them in a long Hadeeth something to the effect of it's gone as a long, hot day. And at the end of it, he said, what should we do in a time of real fitna and the Prophet peace upon him said go to the Imam and go to the JAMA. They said what if there's no mom and no Gemma?

01:03:58--> 01:04:21

He said then in that case, you know, you should cling on, cling on to the roots of a tree, go by yourself, hang on to your faith until you meet a lot in that state. So the Muslims are all divided and is no drama and no ma'am. We still have to stay on the path as though we were Ibrahim Elisa, one oma, each person has to have that inside of themselves.

01:04:26--> 01:04:59

Now the question is coming from a non Muslim perspective. What do you answer as a Muslim? If he says to you, where are non Muslims going after death? We have to always remember that you know, Allah subhanaw taala. Allah is the Creator. He is the one who will judge and not us. And you know, those people who have followed the prophets of different nations, whether it's Moses, whether it's Jesus, other prophets, peace be upon them, you know, they are considered to be

01:05:00--> 01:05:19

Those who submitted to Allah. Okay. Also, the Quran says valid path now frequently, oma Rasulullah, Abdullah was tending to target. We have said to every nation a messenger, that they would worship Allah and stay away from false gods. So amongst the Aboriginal people in Australia,

01:05:20--> 01:05:26

amongst the indigenous or Aboriginal people in Africa, in South America, the Aboriginal people in Europe,

01:05:28--> 01:05:32

all tribes, all nations, China, everybody received the Prophet.

01:05:33--> 01:06:16

And then if a person is following to heat oneness of God, and they did not receive the message of Islam, clearly and directly, then they are under the mercy of Allah. If he pleases, He will punish them. If he pleases, he will forgive them, that is out of our hands. If the person has gotten the message directly, and they refuse to accept that message, then you know the Koran shows us that they will receive a painful punishment in the next life. But we are not the ones who judge people, our job is only to deliver the message and people must choose the message across the deen cut to be in a rush to minute, there is no compulsion in religion, truth stands clear from falsehood.

01:06:17--> 01:06:33

Now, the question is saying, Brother, what do you think about the many European people who see oppression and stand up to God with their lives? And it goes on with different points? What about the people who are protesting against the situations in the world

01:06:35--> 01:06:42

we have to realize that oppression and deception is not based upon any particular color,

01:06:43--> 01:06:47

that it can be found in any color, in any race in any nation.

01:06:48--> 01:07:13

And with that, as a basis, you know, with right and wrong is the basis. It's not based on tribe. And this is one of the blessings of Islam, that it spread to all different nations, all different types of people. And it was shocking for people in South Africa, you know, so far away from the Muslim world to realize, you know, these old anthropological definitions of race, they used to say caucasoid,

01:07:15--> 01:07:24

Mongoloid, negroid, right, the describing people to give these old type of definitions and the Caucasian people or the European people,

01:07:25--> 01:07:50

the people of Chechnya, you know, who waged are still waging a struggle against the Soviet communist oppression. They have been Muslims over 1200 years. And they are sure white, Caucasian people belong here, blue eyes, their roots in Caucasian culture is probably one of the purest roots if you go back to the actual basis of European culture, but they're Muslims.

01:07:51--> 01:08:11

So it's not based upon color. It's not based upon race. And that has to be our basis, because other people are basing things on color. They're basing it on race, and we should not use those definitions. But if the people are wrong, they're wrong. I don't care what color they are, or how powerful they think they are, or what language they speak.

01:08:12--> 01:08:12

It says

01:08:14--> 01:08:15

okay, that's the same question.

01:08:20--> 01:08:29

Yeah, it said, Brother, well, this problems are going on for Muslims. Is it better to go and jihad or study Islam? Because jihad is,

01:08:30--> 01:09:10

as far as I know, or should I study? What should I do? There's a few questions concerning jihad. Now, we have to realize that the definitions that are coming in the newspapers, when they use the word jihad, they are saying holy war, okay. But we know that the word Jihad from the Javad or you're struggling you're exerting yourself and that this this struggle isn't all different forms. There's even a Jihad which is inside of the persons you had to knifes which is not necessarily the greatest jihad, that's a week of death, that said that that's the greatest jihad. But there's an internal jihad, which is a which is a very strong powerful one. And we have to go to this Jihad every day.

01:09:11--> 01:09:14

That's a struggle to choose between right and wrong.

01:09:15--> 01:09:52

And that is a form of jihad is a Jihad that goes on in your, in your house, is a jihad in your community, when you clean up when you stand against evil in any form, that is jihad. There is also jihad, Bill Mao, is also a struggle with your wealth, right, where you can actually, you know, support people who are struggling and jihad, you can even hold back your wealth, which we'll be talking about, which is like boycotts, you know, you know, things like that, you know, so there's many different ways of struggle. There is also a form of the struggle when people are attacking you and fighting you, you stand up and you fight and you defend yourself. And there's nothing wrong with

01:09:52--> 01:09:54

that every nation in the world.

01:09:55--> 01:09:59

You know, says our heroes they have Memorial Day. Do you have Memorial Day here?

01:10:00--> 01:10:32

Australia. So you have Unknown Soldier, about those soldiers, for instance, who fought in World War Two and you know, against the Japanese, or whatever it is, they'll say here in Australia, right? So every country has that. So there's nothing wrong with Muslims also feeling proud about the people who have died in the path of Allah. And also be prepared to stand up to defend their rights. This is a God given right to every human being. And it is agreed upon, even in the United Nations and other things like that you have the right to resist occupation. So that this is nothing, which is, you know, special.

01:10:33--> 01:11:02

And, but we have to realize that if you see evil as a process, I'm said, change it with your hands. If you can't do that, say something. If you can't do that, then feel it in your heart. And that is the weakest form of faith. So, in terms of the struggles that goes on in the Muslim world, it's not always proper for Muslims to necessarily personally go inside that struggle. Because you may make it worse in the struggle. Then, you know, for the people who are there in the struggle,

01:11:03--> 01:11:22

you want to go and into jihad in a country where it's snowing outside, there's some brothers in South Africa. They want to go up, you know, in the mountains in Chechnya or whatever, the Soviets Okay, man. I said, Have you ever seen snow before? He said, No. I said, You have never seen snow before. And you want to go up there.

01:11:23--> 01:11:26

Okay, and they live in in the snow, they sleep in the snow.

01:11:27--> 01:11:37

Okay, you want to struggle and jihad. I said, it's a cold night, it was raining out. I said, Take this blanket and go sleep outside on the sidewalk. And wake up tomorrow morning and tell me how you feel.

01:11:38--> 01:12:15

Okay, then you will see whether you really want to go out there. You're not necessarily prepared to do that. Right. But you can make do are you can you can you can support people, other things. So there's different levels of struggle, and you need to see where you where you fit in. But the point is, is that if we see evil, that we should try to do something, some sort of resistance to the evil that is around. The other question is saying, What is your advice in seeking authentic knowledge? In a country like Australia, where the scholars are scarce? Or the Muslim country, you know, what should we possibly do? Well, we should try to seek knowledge wherever we possibly can. And really,

01:12:15--> 01:12:52

you'd be surprised to know, if we get serious about learning Arabic. If we get serious about the basis of Hadith, there's enough knowledge right here, you know, we tend to want to be great scholars, and we won't take the first step. Right, First, start learning how to read first heart Arabic properly, try to learn your vocabulary is try to learn the basic grammars start to learn to read the core and properly with touch, we also start to learn how to code, learn your basic things. And then in sha Allah, there are different cities and in parts of the world, where you can get a lot of knowledge, there's a lot of problems in the Muslim world. But still, there are places like I've

01:12:52--> 01:13:01

been told, there's many brothers and sisters who are in Damascus now. And they say there are a lot of good scholars in Damascus, that are around and you know, it's fairly

01:13:02--> 01:13:12

safe in the sense, you can come in there, get some knowledge and you can leave. So there are still places like that in the Muslim world, where you can seek knowledge, you know, with the right struggle.

01:13:14--> 01:13:55

There are a number of questions concerning unity itself. And concerning the issue of unity, like I said, we need to work towards this. And there is no set way that we gain unity, but we need to try to unite with other people. And the best way I believe to unite is not just talk, but is action, that we try to do things together. You know, you try to struggle together doing positive things. One thing I'd like to say we may talk about it more, you know, we were talking today with the children about the environment, we know that the struggle to clean up the environment is one of the most dangerous issues facing human beings today. A lot of Muslims don't know that. And do you know that

01:13:55--> 01:14:19

if we are struggling to clean up the environment, that we are actually doing something Islamic, because we believe it is Allah it is the creator who made this environment. And if we preserve it, if we protect it, if we clean it up, then we are actually doing a positive positive thing in Islam. And the prophet SAW Selim used to used to always encourage his followers to plant trees, plant trees, even if tiama is coming, plant a tree.

01:14:21--> 01:14:43

Okay, so planting trees, preserving life, cleaning up the environment, these are Islamic actions that we can do. So there are many things that we can do within the society in pointing out to the good and forbidding people from evil and we need to try to unite upon you know, good Quran and Sunnah type, attitude and action programs.

01:14:44--> 01:14:45

Another one is saying

01:14:46--> 01:15:00

that I am 18 years old, and I'm in a very, very bad situation. And he said that he's dropped out of school and he's failing, he's having problems. And, you know, he doesn't know what to do and he's in a bad section.

01:15:01--> 01:15:38

What I would like to say is that, you know, you need to go to some of the groups that have, you know, brothers who have been out there. And I know that the Jamaat is not jamaa has brothers who have been out there who have, you know, been in the streets, so to speak, if you use that language of the streets, right? You say that here, right? Okay, they've been in the streets and allow support Allah guided them back to the truth. So you need to go to somebody who's been out there, you know, and suffered some hard times, you know, and then you know, Allah guided them to the right path. And you know, then listen, you know, get counseling, and you need to get counseling, and somebody who

01:15:38--> 01:15:45

can sit with you and spend some time with you, and then show you through example, as well as words how to go to the right path. Okay.

01:15:48--> 01:15:49

Another question is,

01:15:51--> 01:16:31

if this world has become a difficult place, okay, so says why shouldn't we do something about we of course, we say that we should do something about it. The other question is, is that is it correct to say that we cannot pray Joomla if we have to work, work is more important? There are people saying this, is this correct? This is Moodle, this is another form of deception. And it was even one of the Muslim cards. I don't like to name countries individually, but there was a Muslim country where the head of state actually said don't fast and Ramadan, do some extra work, okay. And you know, this is deception, this is the shaytaan who was deceiving somebody, you know, concerning these issues,

01:16:31--> 01:16:31

because

01:16:33--> 01:17:16

those things that are the most important are those are those issues that have been made compulsory upon us, by Allah subhanaw taala and by the Prophet Joseph, right, this they are Sharia tashlich comes from the creator and His Messenger, we do not have the right you know, to, to, to to dissolve that which has been made compulsory, in order to do something else. Okay? So the Juma is made compulsory for a reason, Ocelot is five times a day for a reason. And if we look at the weakness of our hearts, and the weakness of our lives in this material world, you can see the reason why we need to stop and make prayer, we need to fast, some of us need to fast three or four months a year, right

01:17:16--> 01:17:28

and not especially brothers who are not married yet. We need to fast three or four months per year, and not just in Ramadan. Okay, but the hamdulillah the Creator is merciful, and made followed upon us the days of Ramadan.

01:17:29--> 01:18:11

And so, you know, the creator knows better than us, you know, what is good for us, and we don't have the right heel to try to put our own opinion above the opinion of Allah. Another question is saying that the person suffers from depression, and that is caused by Islam and culture. And they find it hard to practice Islam because the family, their family came in the way of them, they dominated by culture. And they even make it difficult, and they treat the person like a stranger. Well, this really is a test and everybody has their tests and inshallah Allah will give you will give you a reward a great reward, you know, for struggling with politeness, you know, be gentle, but be

01:18:11--> 01:18:48

steadfast in your deen and you show respect to your parents, but if they try to lead you off the path, like you read and sort of look, man, try to return to look, man, and then you will see that, you know, you obey your parents, but you don't obey them in Masia. If they are taking you to sin, we don't obey them, we don't follow them, if they are commanding us to do that, which is not from Allah subhanaw taala. And you know, you need to reach out of the Muslims. And because our real family is within the within the family of Islam. And so I pray that Allah would make it easy for you in your life. And you know, we need to make dua for this person, you know, and for others who are

01:18:48--> 01:19:32

struggling, you know, with Muslims, you know, who are just cultural Muslims. Another question says, in terms of advice for the young people, for the young people, you know, I believe that the young people more than anybody else are feeling the effects of the globalization. And inshallah I want to talk more about this tomorrow night, in Sharla, about this issue and how it is impacting upon our nation. But in terms of the internet technology, the digital technology, they are really under this pressure law. And my advice is, don't spend your time or the majority of your time in front of the television. Because they are creating a false world. They are making an illusion, and they have the

01:19:32--> 01:19:34

ability to make it seem real.

01:19:35--> 01:19:52

You need to spend more time traveling in nature, playing sports, you know, look at the real creation of Allah. Don't look at the other false creations. Because if that becomes your arm, the basis of your world, then you are being taught racism.

01:19:53--> 01:20:00

You are being taught class ism. And you're also being brainwashed into be a sheep being a

01:20:00--> 01:20:41

ashamed of yourself, ashamed of your color, ashamed of your language, ashamed of your people, and it is, it is purposely being done. And, you know, when you look at these programs too much, that becomes your reality, or that becomes the base in which you judge the rest of the world. But if you spend more time, if not all of your time, you know, looking at the real creations of Allah, then right then if you if a TV is in front of you, or movies in front of you, you can see how shape tonic The thing is, you can see with Alliance, right, so so and then so the sitting type things, we just sitting there, and you're an observer, and it's been this message is being pumped into your mind,

01:20:41--> 01:20:55

don't spend that much time in front of that tube, give it up, right and go out into nature, be involved in action oriented programs, right. So so your life can become real and not, you know, a like a Hollywood construct.

01:20:56--> 01:21:00

Also, you know, this question of Islam and culture.

01:21:01--> 01:21:34

The young people who study Islam study, you know, the Quran, the Sunnah, the first three generations, the early generations, study how they practice, and then you will see the real Islam, okay, then you can judge what is going on, you know, in later generations, and especially today, and you will see some of the cultural practices that happened within your own family, you know, and you will see, you will be able to start to distinguish between one and another. And this is very important for us, because it seems confusing many times, what is happening in our families? Another question is saying,

01:21:35--> 01:22:17

is there any sin in delivering the newspaper? Okay, I'm not a Mufti. Actually. And I've never seen this question like this, it depends on the level of the newspaper, I've never seen anybody say that it was her Rama did like the daily newspapers, although some of these papers are getting really bad. I don't know how the papers are here. But some of the papers in the paper now in South Africa, you know, it would be wrong to deliver this, because it has naked women on the pages and, and things like that. So it's actually a form of filth, and propaganda that is being spread. And if that's the case with the newspapers here, then you should try to deliver something else, you know, deliver

01:22:17--> 01:22:20

halaal, the halaal restaurant, deliver their food,

01:22:21--> 01:22:29

or try to deliver you know, you have delivery skills, right, you can use your delivery schools for the skills for something else, other than delivering the newspaper.

01:22:30--> 01:22:51

The question says, what could you tell us about the simple step to go forward to bring the Islamic unity? Okay, these are enshrined in those 10 points that I gave those seven points that I gave the other question, it said, Why did you study Islam in Africa? That's an interesting question.

01:22:52--> 01:23:39

Well, to be honest with you, I studied this, partly because of my own desire to understand my roots, okay, and the connection between my family and Muslims. Because many times when new Muslim when you accept Islam, and I accepted, I had accepted Islam hamdulillah and when you accept Islam, sometimes you feel isolated. And you know, the people say this new Muslims this revert or convert or whatever, and they say this Muslims born in Muslim families, as though the people born in Muslim families are the authentic, true Muslims. And the ones who accept this lamps are like, you know, like, we say, US Lee and tuck lady like, one is actually the original. And the other is a, you know, an imitation,

01:23:39--> 01:23:53

imitation product, you know, they used to say, made in Japan, right, but now, you know, people want things made in Japan, right? So Asli and tuck lady, you know, you see that really, all of the Sahaba, you know, accepted Islam.

01:23:55--> 01:24:07

And there are some other Sahaba wet drinking problems, and kill people and fighting problems. And they had many problems and they accepted Islam and they were the best generation. Okay.

01:24:08--> 01:24:47

So if they were the best generation and they accepted Islam, then there is no difference between whether you're born in a Muslim family or not. It is, Your Honor. It is your actions. It's your taqwa. That's the difference, and not necessarily the family that you were raised in. But I found myself in that situation. And so I was interested to know, because we have a thing called roots, we are searching for our roots, right? And our heritage. And so I was searching and I found out that, um, you know, when I was first coming into Islam, you know, it was through the study, it was within African history. And in West Africa, many of the great kingdoms there, and empires were actually

01:24:47--> 01:24:59

Islamic, Mali and song guy and cities like Timbuktu and gender and all that these are actually cities of learning. Okay, so I found this out and I became very interested in this

01:25:00--> 01:25:45

I found out that over 30% of the people who are captured and taken to America has captured prisoners of war slaves were actually Muslims. I was shocked to find out that there were a law in Brazil, in Jamaica, in Haiti, in Trinidad, in Suriname, in the United States. So we're writing books in classical Arabic, during the slavery period. Okay, so when I found these things out, it became very interesting. And then in terms of Dao, which I have been involved in all my life as a Muslim, and Sharla hope to be involved in for the rest of my life, that this call of dour in America, that if you go to the town, if you go to a university, and you say, we're having a problem, or what is this

01:25:45--> 01:25:46

law,

01:25:47--> 01:25:48

nobody's going to come.

01:25:49--> 01:25:59

Okay, most people, they want controversy, or they want something that interest because their programs, right? What if we said, we are studying African history roots?

01:26:00--> 01:26:02

Okay, hundreds of people come,

01:26:04--> 01:26:15

because they want to know about their roots. And so we should give shows them about Islam, on the African continent and the great scholars that were there, and the contributions made, and through that we're able to give out.

01:26:16--> 01:27:06

Also, I found that there were great luminaries, great leaders, great scholars in on the African continent, you'd be surprised to know that, in the 15th and 16th century, scholars came from hijas, and they went to Timbuktu. And when they went there, they found a city of 100% Muslims, with 1000s of books. Just recently, the President of South Africa, went to Timbuktu. And he visited the city and he found 15,000 books in Arabic, still in somebody's house 15,000 books in one house and courtyard, still there and on science, math, astronomy, medicine, everything is there. At one point, the scholars found over 80 to 90,000 books was in the homes in Timbuktu. That's only in this

01:27:06--> 01:27:21

century. It was a great center of learning. And so through this, we were able to understand more about Islam. The beauty of Islam has always spread in different parts of the world, and also able to give doubt by using this methodology.

01:27:22--> 01:28:03

It said that, do you recommend that people marry the same culture of intermix? It seems to me that not many people have mixed cultural marriages because they are racists. Okay, um, that's a big question. Since, you know, really marriage as we know should be based upon the deen and you know, the promise of Solomon has told us very clearly that you should marry for for things that that you know, you should marry for. You should marry for wealth, marry for genealogy NASA, you know, you can marry also for beauty, but you should marry for Deen and then you'll be successful. Okay, the base rough translation of the Hadith. So there's these four categories that you look at when we're

01:28:03--> 01:28:24

dealing with marriage, okay. But some people they put NASA as number one, and everything is the family and the genealogy. Okay. Some people say to their young daughter or son in cultural Islam, they say to them, do what you want to do, go to college, play around, do anything. But when you're ready to get married, you got to marry your cousin.

01:28:26--> 01:28:28

That's it. You got to marry your cousin.

01:28:29--> 01:28:29

Okay.

01:28:31--> 01:28:51

This is not the way of the prophets Hello, Sal. And one of the one of the blessings in the fact that he was allowed to marry so many times, he broke down all types of barriers. He married somebody who was not as Try not his his color. Right? A woman who was divorced before a woman who was previously from a Jewish family.

01:28:52--> 01:29:21

Right, he married her. So he broke down all the artificial barriers that we have in our minds, okay. He broke down all of those barriers. And so these barriers, you know, these things should not be the basis of the marriage. I'm not saying that you shouldn't take it into account. They are sections in Kapha or where you are judging you should judge based upon these things. You should ask about somebody's family. You should ask about their wealth. You know, if the brother wants to marry you sisters, make sure he's got a job, man.

01:29:22--> 01:29:30

You know, he says yes, I'll marry you on Quran and Sunnah. All I have is Quran and Sunnah. Okay, Mashallah. But you got to have a house man.

01:29:31--> 01:29:32

You got to have a job, right?

01:29:34--> 01:29:54

You got to have a job. Okay. So, these are factors that you have to we have to get involved in. And I would say that really, when a community when you come to a jamaa in a city that has all types of Muslims, and you see in the mosque, or the gathering, there's only one type of people, something's wrong.

01:29:55--> 01:29:59

Okay? When you see a mixed gathering such as this, you know, something's

01:30:00--> 01:30:27

going right? It's Islamic, because Islam is supposed to bring together all nationalities, all groupings is supposed to bring it together. And that is one of the blessings of people in America who are very mixed up, you know, they have mixed genealogies, right? like myself, right? So you have African, you have European, and you have native Indian, right? Indian Mohawk tribe, and you have all types of things in your blood, you know, so you don't worry about these issues. All of us are from Adam and Adam is from dust.

01:30:30--> 01:30:31

The next question is saying,

01:30:32--> 01:30:36

Please, I need Okay, saying that isn't allowed me

01:30:38--> 01:30:48

to get the nationality of a non Muslim country. And I don't intend to live here. But you know, I want to get medical benefits, am I deceiving the society and whatnot?

01:30:50--> 01:30:53

We have to be honest with what we are saying to people.

01:30:54--> 01:31:32

And really what happened in Canada, unfortunately, is that some Muslims came to Canada. And they were actually they came, and they actually deceived the society. They came, and they had welfare under four or five different names, you know, and they had jobs. And some of them were even sending their wives what he had to be done, down to the social welfare office, and she comes in full head job. And she reports and she says, I'm not married. So the people say you're not married. Okay? And you are Muslim? Yes, I'm a Muslim. Okay, we sign you up. 10 months later, she comes with a baby.

01:31:33--> 01:31:44

Right? And she's still collecting her check. So the person says, oh, what happened to you? You are holy people. Then where'd you get the baby from if you're not married?

01:31:45--> 01:31:58

Right. So she has to lie to the people and say, I'm not married. And really, and surely I'm not a Mufti. But if you're making statements like that, this is serious, man. You're telling people I'm not married, you're swearing that you're not married.

01:32:00--> 01:32:13

Okay. And when you swear oaths like this, even if it is to the Cafiero, you're not at war with someone is going to shoot you and kill you. If you if you, you know, other brothers over there over there. And if the brothers were over there, I'd say they're over there, sir.

01:32:14--> 01:32:58

Right? I can lie like that. But can you lie because you want extra money to buy leather coats? Or to buy new cars? that's that that's not right. That's not right. And we shouldn't take advantage of anybody. And it is through our good character, and our honesty, that Islam spread in Southeast Asia. And in many parts of the world, no armies came into Southeast Asia, but it was good merchants who had good character, honesty, justice. That's what spread Islam. And so we should set an example, you know, of honesty and justice and the group that that we were in Allah knows best the empty imams Council in Canada, you know, said, especially for people who were in very dire situation, if the

01:32:58--> 01:33:11

person had to take the oath to the country in order to be in the country, there's nothing wrong with that, you know, you know, you have to take it as something that you have to do. But, you know, our ultimate allegiance is to Allah subhanaw taala. That is the reality.

01:33:12--> 01:33:13

Another question is saying,

01:33:18--> 01:33:20

okay, so describe the deception

01:33:21--> 01:33:43

that Muslims have toward Christians and other people, the lack of forgiveness, understanding and harboring of bad feelings. Okay, one of the deceptions or one of the wrong understandings that Muslims have in dealing with Christians and Jews and other people, the book is that, you know, Islam as a way of life.

01:33:44--> 01:33:49

And I found out that when I accepted Islam, that I was practicing a lot of Islam already.

01:33:51--> 01:34:23

I was already doing that. Because the same principles of being honest and being good, and trying to have a family and to get married, and to eat good food, I was already doing it. I stopped drinking alcohol. Before I was a Muslim. I stopped taking drugs before I was a Muslim. I stopped eating pork before I was a Muslim. So there are many things that I was already doing. But Islam now as the last message, it gives you the clear explanation for the things that the People of the Book have lost, because the scriptures of the People of the Book have been confused.

01:34:25--> 01:34:35

And so Islam gives the right direction. But Muslims, Islam, when you accept Islam, you accept it not for Muslims. You accept it for Islam for Allah subhanaw taala.

01:34:36--> 01:35:00

And that is the true guidance. And so you find that many people, you know, who are not Muslims have many characteristics of Islam, also tawheed many people already have the oneness of God. And you find it in many of the cultures. So this is how you need to look at the people, when we are dealing with the people coming from other cultures is that we are not the only people who believe in one God. We're not the only people who tell the

01:35:00--> 01:35:41

Truth are not the only people who try to eat clean things. Other people do that just as much as us. But we are blessed with the last messenger who gives the complete message. The clear message is here, the revelation is here in the original language, that's what we have. And this is what has helped us not to go astray, like the other nations, because we still have the book, we still have the sooner and we can go back around in the circle back up to the top. And this is what has blessed us, not we Muslims ourselves, because it was just us, we would have been gone a long time ago, man who would have gone 500 years ago. But Allah is the one who raises up people. And many of the people

01:35:41--> 01:35:48

who accept Islam actually turned out to be the leaders of Islam. Right. And this has happened throughout our history throughout Islamic history.

01:35:50--> 01:35:51

It says that

01:35:52--> 01:35:58

is just she was sent the sister say, I was jealous of a girl, a beautiful girl,

01:35:59--> 01:36:11

you know, of her beauty and everything. And, you know, he said, I know it's Haram, but I can't help it. You know, you know, she's just too beautiful. Can't help us. Okay, um,

01:36:14--> 01:36:56

this is a very honest question, and it's real. But what you have to understand is that real beauty is not just in the physical, the outward part of the person. The real beauty in the person is the character and the taqwa. These are the things that that really makes a person beautiful. And our beauty, our physical self changes over time. Right? And everybody will change. Okay, so if you see beauty in something else, or somebody else, you say, Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed and tested that person with beauty. Because sometimes a beautiful woman today, really in this world is in trouble.

01:36:57--> 01:37:33

Because there's all types of what you call peeping Toms, and John's and all type of things chasing you know, in a beautiful woman is chased down the street, everyone's looking at her, her life is a fitna, in a society that we live in today. So you need to look at all of these things. And to realize that beauty is not just, you know, the skin is not just the physical feature of the face, right? Or the thinness of the waist or whatever. But really, the beauty is in the heart. That is where the real beauty of a person is. And may Allah subhanaw, taala give you that beauty. I'm sure you I'm sure you have the beauty, but but you don't really know it. Right. But you know, because

01:37:33--> 01:37:41

they have that this this fable they used to say about Mirror mirror on the wall, you know, who's the most beautiful person of all? And they also say like, you know,

01:37:42--> 01:38:21

the grass is always greener on the other fellows yard. Right? Those are used to say so his grass is always greener than that's the shaytaan. Well, yeah. And he uses this, he always tells you, I'm not good enough. I'm not good enough. I'm not, you know, you know, and this happens to people. And this culture does it to people. Look at Michael Jackson, you see what happened to Michael Jackson. He was a strong young man, look at him when he was young. And look what he did to himself. He ruined his face, he ruined his skin. He made his hair fall straight, he broke his nose and try to make it bigger. He put up his cheeks. Right? He had some strange dream that he was Elizabeth Taylor, Diana

01:38:21--> 01:38:22

Ross or something like this.

01:38:25--> 01:38:47

And so it transformed himself. He's not satisfied with himself. This is Gouda. It's deception. He is deceived. He had everything in the world going for himself, but he's not satisfied. You see, that's the essence of deception. So we need to look inside ourselves for other aspects other than just physical beauty. It says, You speak about.

01:38:52--> 01:39:04

Okay, they're also saying you speak about unity. And I began by saying this person is a teacher, and they want to instill Islamic awareness, you know, in the youth, you know, what can they do to help really in the school situation?

01:39:06--> 01:39:09

What would you do if you were a teacher in these difficult times, really,

01:39:11--> 01:39:15

in the Islamic school, especially the teachers job is crucial.

01:39:16--> 01:39:26

And really, the teacher is the frontlines. And I have spoken to teachers in many Islamic schools, because really, they don't they underestimate the importance of their job.

01:39:27--> 01:39:59

Because when that teacher is teaching the student, that teacher actually represents the Messenger of Allah, because you can't see the prophets or something. even deeper than that, you can't see a law. So that person in a sense represents everything in Islam to that child. So you are holding a great amount of in your hand. You see, and really, you know, Allah subhanaw taala will bless you greatly for trying in any way that you possibly can to instill the character. So we all need to upgrade ourselves. We need

01:40:00--> 01:40:09

to study the work of great scholars study the Hadith and try to raise our taqwa, raise our consciousness, so we can try to give this to the youth in the best way that we possibly can.

01:40:11--> 01:40:24

Another question is saying I'm an Australian from a Christian background, who was extremely intrigued by Islam and hope to grow and learning more about it, what is the best way to go about? I would say that, you know, it's important for anybody

01:40:26--> 01:40:29

to study, read, study, meet people.

01:40:30--> 01:41:08

You don't have to believe everything that everybody says, okay? But you need to stay but to really study Islam, go back to the roots sources, look in the book of Allah in the Quran, read the life of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon. And it was really for me, in my travels, you know, I had met Muslims doing all types of strange things. But when I got the Quran itself, and I read it, and I began to read the life of the prophet SAW them, I said, this is the person who I want to follow. That's him. And the way he acts, the way he treats people, the way he struggles, this is the character, this is the personality. And this is what you need to really do at this time, you know,

01:41:08--> 01:41:18

to focus on this on the principles of Islam, and to try to get different opinions from the Muslims. But if you feel something in your heart, then you should act upon that as soon as possible.

01:41:19--> 01:41:24

Another question, which is very similar to it, which I want to read right away. It is saying that,

01:41:27--> 01:41:37

that there's even a person who's feeling about reverting to Islam, right, but they wanted to do it by themselves, and only do it by themselves. Okay.

01:41:38--> 01:41:48

Really, Islam is not an organization. So when you accept Islam, you're not signing on the dotted lines, right? It is something that you do is between you and Allah.

01:41:49--> 01:42:26

But the Muslims be a witness to this. And it does not have to be in a large crowd of people can be very with one or two people it can be right. But you should have somebody who can help you say the words properly, right, and to make sure your understanding is correct. And also to be a witness to the fact that you have come in. This is very important. And if you want to do it tonight, I would humbly advise you and encourage you that if you have that feeling, you should act upon it immediately. Because only Allah knows how long that will live, you should be a witness to the oneness of Allah. If you've come this close, then the Shakedown and the forces of evil will try to

01:42:26--> 01:42:37

stop you from coming into Islam. So you should be a witness as soon as possible. And realize that you go and stages go in stages, you don't have to do everything immediately.

01:42:39--> 01:42:51

But you learn your faith properly. And then you begin to learn different aspects of Islam and you put it into your life. And then you move in stages, right? You don't have to do everything right away. And it is even permissible

01:42:52--> 01:43:26

that if your family was too strict, right, you don't have to announce it to all your relatives and all your family immediately. Okay. But of course, it is encouraged as soon as possible, when you can explain it properly, that you would explain it in politeness to your family members. Or you would have somebody who could explain that, to come to the house and explain it to your family. You know what Islam really is. So they can see that it's not this terrorist thing on TV. And, you know, it's not a cult, where you're brainwashed, like, you know, with moonies or whatever you're in these different, there's not anything like this, okay? And, but whatever feelings you have, you know, may

01:43:26--> 01:43:31

Allah guide you and bless you. And may you may lead you into Islam as soon as possible.

01:43:33--> 01:44:14

is also saying in terms of the best way of avoiding deception. As I said, it's important for us to strengthen our relationship with Allah subhanaw taala. And it is important to us to humble ourselves, and to always remember opposition with Allah, and to investigate. Don't just accept things, especially coming from television, especially from the media, don't accept everything for face value, you must investigate. And when we when I was in the history department, in the University of Toronto, one of the good things that they taught within this department is that when you are studying an issue, try to go to primary sources. Always try as we say in America, take it

01:44:14--> 01:44:15

from the horse's mouth,

01:44:16--> 01:44:56

go to the source. And if, for instance, somebody's studying about a battle that happened, don't just study the position of the winner of the battle. What happened to the losers? What happened to the people who are watching the battle, the news house got ruined by these crazy people fighting each other. Get the opinion of all different types of people, then you understand the phenomenon in the proper way. What is happening today is that people take only from one source, right? And then they form their opinion, and they don't go to two primary sources to understand issues from the people themselves. This is why it is important for us, as Muslims to go to the society to go to public to

01:44:56--> 01:44:59

the public, reach out to the people and explain to them what is Islam

01:45:00--> 01:45:12

So they won't think that Muslims are just these terrorists blowing up the building, and Otto swats niggas against us and Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal, and everyone in the world is chasing us, not everyone's chasing us,

01:45:13--> 01:45:20

right? Or Aladdin and the lamp and all this other stuff, right or blowing up buildings with destroying the world. This is the hype.

01:45:22--> 01:45:51

This is the hype. Right? This is another illusion, which is being created in order to cover the minds of people from the beauty of Islam, and what we have to offer to the world, especially in this time of racism, this time of economic exploitation, this time of perversion, we have a lot to really, you know, give to the world. But one of the first things that we need to do is to deal with deception in ourselves.

01:45:52--> 01:46:40

That we can protect ourselves from the plots of the evil one happening within our own hearts and our own lives. And if we begin to do this inshallah, and maybe Allah would make us vessels of the truth that allow would make us deserving and worthy to hold the banner of Islam in these times. Only a lot decides when it is time for Muslims to have authority, but he has promised us if we believe if we have patience, he will eventually give us authority in this earth and the province of solemn has told us this message will enter every single home. One day inshallah this message will go all around the world, and it will enter every single home look will carry health caffeine, while most rakuen

01:46:40--> 01:46:45

will not feel alone, even if they hate it. This is the word of Allah. It's not our words.

01:46:46--> 01:47:26

It's not our it's like a fool, trying to blow out the sun. You can't blow out the sun. If you gather together all the people in the world you blew at the sun, you'll never put out the light of Allah. No matter how many people you try to kill, or you try to hurt a disgrace, you will never put out the light of Allah and Allah has raised people in the past and inshallah he is capable and has shown us in his book that he is willing to raise up believers but let us take the first step in the law allow you to be Coleman hot Are you here to be a physician, allow them to change the condition of a people until they change that which is in themselves. A cool look at how the stock for lolly Welcome

01:47:27--> 01:47:49

suppiler Calhoun behind deca national one La Ilaha Illa enter the stock flew to blue lake Bismillah R Rahman Rahim Allah has in Northern Santa Luffy, who was in the Medina Armando Romulus Ali had to also be awkward to also be Saba masala la de la semana Mohammed wherever he was safiya Jemaine will aka Tawana and Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah

01:47:51--> 01:48:05

that whole. So really, what do we have to be proud about when this life is only a fleeting thing? So the scholars say, remember yourself in relationship to the Creator of the heavens and the earth, if you have too much

01:48:07--> 01:48:11

pride, then one of the action ways serve people.

01:48:12--> 01:48:23

You serve people, you think you're big and proud, and you're a special person, then you take some time, you invite some people over your house, or you go to an occasion, and you serve them, you serve the food.

01:48:24--> 01:49:05

So you're no longer the big archief and the big Shetty from the big queen. You serve the food to the other people, humble yourself to other Muslims, wear clothing, you know that that is not so nice, sometimes be humble and simple sometimes. And then this way, you know, it fights off that false pride that comes into the heart, the hazard, we have to remember if jealousy is in our heart, we have to remember that if somebody has some good in their life, it is a gift from Allah subhanaw taala. And really, money and wealth is not necessarily a blessing. In many cases, money is a curse. And it is coming to our ummah. And there are some parts of the nation who had strong masculine

01:49:05--> 01:49:10

people, strong, feminine, good Muslims. And when they got some money, they changed.

01:49:11--> 01:49:51

Their whole outlook changed. And they became arrogant. And this has happened throughout our history. Maybe this is why the Prophet peace be upon him has said that every nation there is a test and the test of this nation is wealth, right? There's too much is like getting too much wealth. So you need to read there are a number of texts that go into the emeraude glue the diseases of the hearts, you know, what are the cures, you need to find? Try to find some of these texts. You know, but but i think you know, really the essence of it is, you know, your intentions. And, you know, it's not a complicated definition in the sense that we need to really purify ourselves and humble ourselves

01:49:51--> 01:49:56

before Allah. If we do this, then we can begin to look at other creations in another way.

01:49:57--> 01:49:58

Another question is saying

01:50:00--> 01:50:43

Is it better to stay in the West, or to make his return to the land of the Muslims? Really now, you know, there's a saying that began about 20 years ago or so. And now it's really come to fruit in the sense that the whole world is like a global village. Okay, and really, you know, the barriers between countries and cultures have decreased and have changed radically, especially in the past 10 years, with the, with the Internet, and with the the the communication systems that people are sharing throughout the planet. So really, at this point, you know, there's no East in the West, like it used to be, there's no east and west, and some of the Muslim countries, I'm sorry to say it more

01:50:43--> 01:50:51

oppressive than living right here in Australia. Because in Australia, and in South Africa, I can say that from South Africa also, you know,

01:50:52--> 01:50:54

there there are people you can reason with people.

01:50:55--> 01:51:12

But in some of our own countries ruled by tyrants, you can't reason with them. If you disagree with them, they throw you in jail. You forget about lawyer, lawyer, that's a joke, man, some of these kinds of lawyer, you mentioned noon or something lawyer, what is this?

01:51:14--> 01:51:59

You know, so I mean, you know, you have to, we have to respect, you know, the fact of the goodness in some of the countries that we live in. And what you have to recognize is that Islam is not something which is just controlled by Muslims, because part of Islamic culture, the establishment of justice, the party, the judge, and the system in the courts and whatnot.

01:51:59--> 01:52:07

country itself in the people of this country. This is why I say when you give Dawa, you have to realize that every person is born as a Muslim.

01:52:08--> 01:52:51

They are they have the ability to submit to the Creator is within every human being, it is not the property of any master race. Allah has sent prophets and messengers, messengers to every tribe. And so we should try to appreciate that fact. And, you know, we need to try to practice Islam, you know, in the best way, wherever we are. Because at this point in time, there is no real country that can save it is a it is an Islamic State. We don't have any Islamic states that you can just go to, you know, when you go to the Muslim world, and they say, raise your visa, Tasha, come, come, you know, we how many days say come home, I'm Muslim, you know, my shader is la li la la? Why are you asking

01:52:51--> 01:52:56

me for a visa? But no, they weren't visas. If your visa is up, out,

01:52:58--> 01:53:01

you know, so this is the reality. So wherever we are,

01:53:02--> 01:53:04

you know, we need to practice Islam wherever we are.

01:53:05--> 01:53:25

Not because we're in a western country, in Eastern country, we practice you know, wherever we are, you know, there was a person in, in Canada in Toronto, a sister came to me and she was very upset. And she said that there was in the sister section, which is on the second floor, that you know, this brother was up by the sister section. And it was Juma.

01:53:26--> 01:53:28

So one of the sisters

01:53:29--> 01:53:54

went to this person, she was coming in and she saw this person said, Go down. Why don't you go to the brothers, man? What are you doing here? He said, I don't have to make Juma. She said, Why? She says, because this is this is real. I mean, I don't know if there's something wrong with him. But this is what he said. He said, I don't have to make dua, because, you know, I'm not in my country. And because I'm not in my country, I can't have to harder I can't have.

01:53:55--> 01:53:57

So I don't have to make Juma.

01:53:58--> 01:54:11

So he thinks that if he only in the Muslim country he can make the harder you can make with you. And he can make a lot and then anytime he's outside. So what does that mean? So what happens if you die outside of the Muslim world? In the dot lillahi.

01:54:12--> 01:54:24

The verse says the whole earth is a loss. anywhere on the earth you are, you can make salaat that is the difference between us are one of the differences between us and the other nations.

01:54:26--> 01:54:37

Another question is saying if I want a prize of money that I am I got it by luck, can I accept it? I never went near gambling and never thought of it. You see, everybody has a test.

01:54:38--> 01:54:59

And your test is really shaped and measured for you. As well as mine is shaped and measured for me. And one day will lie I received this thing. And it said Mr. Abdullah Hakim quick, you have won a prize. And I want you to come down to the hotel and pick it up. Come and pick it up. And we will give you a prize and if you answer the right

01:55:00--> 01:55:03

Question, you might get a free trip to Hawaii and a new

01:55:05--> 01:55:05

Toyota.

01:55:08--> 01:55:44

And so they said, I won this prize. And really Magnus was saying, nah, stop for the law, you know, he's going to ask you a question. You know, whatever, maybe this is not know, the things that are by chats, you throw the dice, you roll the numbers, you know, whatever like that. This is not Islamic man, that that we should be, you know, you can with skills, you run a race, everybody puts down $5, the winner of the race takes all of the money. But you don't stand on the side and say I put $5 on saved, because he's big, and he's gonna win the race. No,

01:55:45--> 01:55:50

that's gambling. So in any form, we need to try to avoid this. Because this is a test.

01:55:52--> 01:55:59

It says are you you highlighted the importance of the need for Islamic unity? What is your opinion in terms of the Quran and the Sunnah,

01:56:01--> 01:56:12

in the setup of the Islamic Cooperation society, to help remedy the problems of the Islamic community, definitely, the basis of unity would be the book of Allah. And the sooner the,

01:56:13--> 01:56:51

if a person is not underneath these two things, then it's very difficult to unite islamically with that person, because the prophet SAW Selim said, I have left you two things, if you follow them, you will never go astray. And that is the book of Allah, and my sooner and my way. So these are the only two things that he left that we will never go astray by following it is the basis of our faith, and it should be the basis of the unity. Now there may be varying understandings, you know, within the book of Allah and within the Sunnah. And we need to have an edible afterlife that we need to have the etiquettes of different if we differ with somebody, you need to differ with politeness. And we

01:56:51--> 01:57:02

need to look at the dilemma that the veal that is there, and we need to have respect for other people and their opinions. And if you if they disagree, even if you're right, then you say Alhamdulillah you make to offer the person leave.

01:57:03--> 01:57:09

Okay, maybe Allah would guide them to the truth. And so you need to try to

01:57:10--> 01:57:31

make a unity. But you have to remember that who they are even your man read the law when he said to the person, sell them in a long Hadeeth something to the effect of it's gone as a long, hot day. And at the end of it, he said, what should we do in the time of real fitna and the purpose of problems that go to the Imam and go to the JAMA. They said what if there's no Imam and no jamaah?

01:57:32--> 01:57:56

He said, then in that case, you know, you should cling on cling on to the roots of a tree, go by yourself, hang on to your faith until you meet a law in that state. So the Muslims are all divided and is no Jamal. No, ma'am. We still have to stay on the path as though we were able Rahim, La Silla, one oma, each person has to have that inside of themselves.

01:58:01--> 01:58:49

Now the question is coming from a non Muslim perspective. What do you answer as a Muslim? If he says to you, where are non Muslims going after death? We have to always remember that, you know, Allah subhanaw taala. Allah is the Creator. He is the one who will judge and not us. And you know, those people who have followed the prophets of different nations, whether it's Moses, whether it's Jesus, of the prophets, peace be upon them, you know, they are considered to be those who submitted to Allah. Okay. Also, the Quran says valid path now frequently, oma Rasulullah, Abdullah was tending to toggle, we have said to every nation, a messenger, that they would worship Allah and stay away from

01:58:49--> 01:58:53

false gods. So amongst the Aboriginal people in Australia,

01:58:54--> 01:59:01

amongst the indigenous or Aboriginal people in Africa, in South America, the Aboriginal people in Europe,

01:59:02--> 01:59:06

all tribes, all nations, China, everybody received the Prophet.

01:59:07--> 01:59:50

And then if a person is following to heat, oneness of God, and they did not receive the message of Islam, clearly and directly, then they are under the mercy of Allah. If he if he pleases, He will punish them. If he pleases, he will forgive them, that is out of our hands. If the person has gotten the message directly, and they refuse to accept that message, then you know the Koran shows us that they will receive a painful punishment in the next life. But we are not the ones who judge people. Our job is only to deliver the message and people must choose the message across the deen but to be in a rush to win okay. There is no compulsion in religion. Truth stands clear from falsehood.

01:59:51--> 01:59:59

Now, the question is saying Brother, what do you think about the many European people who see oppression and stand up to God

02:00:00--> 02:00:07

With their lives, and it goes on with different points. What about the people who are protesting against the situations in the world,

02:00:09--> 02:00:16

we have to realize that oppression, and deception is not based upon any particular color,

02:00:17--> 02:00:21

that it can be found in any color, in any race in any nation.

02:00:22--> 02:00:47

And with that, as a basis, you know, with right and wrong is the basis, it's not based on tribe. And this is one of the blessings of Islam, that it spread to all different nations, all different types of people. And it was shocking for people in South Africa, you know, so far away from the Muslim world to realize, you know, these old anthropological definitions of race, they used to say caucasoid,

02:00:49--> 02:00:58

Mongoloid, negroid, right. The describing people to give these old type of definitions, and the Caucasian people are the European people.

02:00:59--> 02:01:24

The people of Chechnya, you know, who waged are still waging a struggle against the Soviet communist oppression. They have been Muslims over 1200 years. And they are sure white, Caucasian people belong here, blue eyes, their roots in Caucasian culture is probably one of the purest roots if you go back to the actual basis of European culture, but there are Muslims.

02:01:25--> 02:01:45

So it's not based upon color. It's not based upon race. And that has to be our basis, because other people are basing things on color. They're basing it on race, and we should not use those definitions. But if the people are wrong, they're wrong. I don't care what color they are, or how powerful they think they are, or what language they speak.

02:01:46--> 02:01:47

It says, I'm

02:01:48--> 02:01:49

gonna ask the same question.

02:01:54--> 02:02:03

Yeah, I said, Brother, well, this problems are going on for Muslim, is it better to go and jihad or study Islam? Because jihad is,

02:02:04--> 02:02:44

as far as I know, or should I study or what should I do? There's a few questions concerning jihad. Now, we have to realize that the definitions that are coming in the newspapers, when they use the word jihad, they are saying holy war, okay. But we know that the word Jihad from the jihad, or you're struggling, you're exerting yourself, and that this this struggle isn't all different forms. There's even a Jihad which is inside of the person she had to knifes which is not necessarily the greatest jihad, that's a weakened teeth, that said that that's the greatest jihad. But there's an internal jihad, which is a which is a very strong powerful one. And we have to go to this Jihad

02:02:44--> 02:02:48

every day, that's a struggle to choose between right and wrong.

02:02:50--> 02:03:26

And that is a form of jihad is a Jihad that goes on in your, in your house, is a jihad in your community, when you clean up when you stand against evil in any form, that is jihad, there is also jihad, Bill Maher, is also a struggle with your wealth, right, where you can actually, you know, support people who are struggling in jihad, you can even hold back your wealth, which we'll be talking about, which is like boycotts, you know, you know, things like that, you know, so there's many different ways of struggle, there is also a form of the struggle, when people are attacking you and fighting you, you stand up, and you fight and you defend yourself. And there's nothing wrong

02:03:26--> 02:03:28

with that every nation in the world,

02:03:30--> 02:04:05

you know, says our heroes, they have Memorial Day, you have Memorial Day here in Australia. So you have an unknown soldier, about those soldiers, for instance, who fought in World War Two, and you know, against the Japanese, or whatever it is, they'll say, here in Australia, right? So every country has that. So there's nothing wrong with Muslims, also feeling proud about the people who have died in the path of Allah, and also be prepared to stand up to defend their rights. This is a God given right to every human being. And it is agreed upon, even in the United Nations and other things like that you have the right to resist occupation. So that this is nothing which is, you

02:04:05--> 02:04:06

know, special.

02:04:07--> 02:04:37

Then, you know, for the people who are there in the struggle.

02:04:38--> 02:04:56

You want to go and into jihad in a country where it's snowing outside, there's some brothers in South Africa. They want to go up you know, in the mountains in Chechnya, whatever the Soviets Okay, man. I said, Have you ever seen snow before? He said, No. I said you have never seen snow before. And you want to go up there.

02:04:57--> 02:04:59

Okay, and then live in in the snow. They sleep in the snow.

02:05:01--> 02:05:11

Okay, you want to struggle and jihad, I said, it's a cold night it was raining out. I said, Take this blanket and go sleep outside on the sidewalk, and wake up tomorrow morning and tell me how you feel.

02:05:12--> 02:05:48

Okay, then you will see whether you really want to go out there, you're not necessarily prepared to do that, right? But you can make two or you can you can, you can support people, other things. So there's different levels of struggle. And you need to see where you've where you fit in. But the point is, is that if we see evil, that we should try to do something, some sort of resistance to the evil that is around. The other question is saying, What is your advice in seeking authentic knowledge? In a country like Australia, where the scholars are scarce? Or in a Muslim country? You know, what should we possibly do? Well, we should try to seek knowledge wherever we possibly can.

02:05:49--> 02:06:26

And really, you'd be surprised to know, if we get serious about learning Arabic. If we get serious about the basis of Hadeeth. There's enough knowledge right here, you know, we tend to want to be great scholars, and we won't take the first step. Right, First, start learning how to read first heart Arabic properly, try to learn your vocabulary, try to learn the basic grammars start to learn to read the Quran properly with touch, we also start to learn how to code, learn your basic things. And then inshallah, there are different cities and in parts of the world, where you can get a lot of knowledge, there's a lot of problems in the Muslim world. But still, there are places like I've been

02:06:26--> 02:06:35

told, there's many brothers and sisters who are in Damascus now. And they say, there are a lot of good scholars in Damascus, that are around and you know, it's fairly

02:06:36--> 02:06:47

safe in the sense, you can come in there, get some knowledge, and you can leave. So there are still places like that in the Muslim world, where you can seek knowledge, you know, with the right struggle.

02:06:48--> 02:07:29

There are a number of questions concerning unity itself. And concerning the issue of unity, like I said, we need to work towards this. And there is no set way that we gain unity, but we need to try to unite with other people. And the best way I believe, to unite is not just talk, but is action, that we try to do things together. You know, you try to struggle together doing positive things. One thing I'd like to say we may talk about it more, you know, we were talking today with the children about the environment, you know that the struggle to clean up the environment is one of the most dangerous issues facing human beings today. A lot of Muslims don't know that. And do you know that

02:07:29--> 02:07:54

if we are struggling to clean up the environment, that we are actually doing something Islamic, because we believe it is a law, it is the creator who made this environment. And if we preserve it, if we protect it, if we clean it up, then we are actually doing a positive positive thing in Islam. And the process I'm used to, I used to always encourage his followers to plant trees, plant trees, even if tiama is coming, plant a tree.

02:07:55--> 02:08:17

Okay, so planting trees, preserving life, cleaning up the environment, these are Islamic actions that we can do. So there are many things that we can do within the society in pointing out to the good and forbidding people from evil. And we need to try to unite upon, you know, good Quran and Sunnah type, attitude and action programs.

02:08:18--> 02:08:19

Now, the one is saying

02:08:20--> 02:08:58

that I am 18 years old, and I'm in a very, very bad situation. And he said that he's dropped out of school and he's failing, he's having problems. And, you know, he doesn't know what to do when he's in a bad situation. What I would like to say is that, you know, you need to go to some of the groups that have, you know, brothers who have been out there, and I know that the Gemma that is not Gemma has brothers who have been out there who have, you know, been in the streets, so to speak, if you use that language at the streets, right? You say that here, right? Okay, they've been in the streets and allow support, Allah guided them back to the truth. So you need to go to somebody who's been out

02:08:58--> 02:09:19

there, you know, and suffered some hard times, you know, and then you know, Allah guided them to the right path. And, you know, then listen to you know, get counseling, and you need to get counseling, and somebody who can sit with you and spend some time with you, and then show you through example, as well as words, how to go to the right path. Okay.

02:09:22--> 02:09:23

Another question is,

02:09:25--> 02:10:00

if this world has become a difficult place, okay, that says why shouldn't we do something about we of course, we say that we should do something about it. The other question is, is that is it correct to say that we cannot pray Joomla if we have to work, work is more important. There are people saying this, is this correct? This is Moodle. This is another form of deception. And it was even one of the Muslim countries I like to name countries individually, but there was a Muslim country where the head of state actually said don't fast and Ramadan, do some extra work. Okay, and you know, this is December

02:10:00--> 02:10:06

And this is the shaytaan who is deceiving somebody you know concerning these issues, because

02:10:07--> 02:10:15

those things that are the most important are those are those issues that have been made compulsory upon us by Allah subhanaw taala and by the prophets

02:10:16--> 02:10:58

right this they are Sharia law, Sharia comes from the creator and His Messenger, we do not have the right you know to, to, to to dissolve that which has been made compulsory in order to do something else. Okay? So the Juma is made compulsory for a reason, Ocelot is five times a day for a reason. And if we look at our the weakness of our hearts, and the weakness of our lives in this material world, you can see the reason why we need to stop and make prayer. We need to fast, some of us need to fast three or four months a year. Right and not especially brothers are not married yet. We need to fast three or four months per year, and not just in Ramadan. Okay, but uh hum to allow the

02:10:58--> 02:11:02

Creator is merciful and made followed upon us the days of Ramadan.

02:11:03--> 02:11:45

And so, you know, the creator knows better than us, you know, what is good for us and we don't have the right he'll to try to put our own opinion above the opinion of Allah. Another question is saying that the person suffers from depression. And that is caused by Islam and culture. And they find it hard to practice Islam because the family, their family came in the way of them, they're dominated by culture. And they even make it difficult, and they treat the person like a stranger. Well, this really is a test and everybody has their tests and inshallah Allah will give you will give you a reward a great reward, you know, for struggling with politeness, you know, be gentle, but be

02:11:45--> 02:12:22

steadfast in your deen and you show respect to your parents, but if they try to lead you off the path, like you read and sort of look, man, try to return to look, man, and then you will see that, you know, you obey your parents, but you don't obey them in Masia. If they are taking you to sin, we don't obey them, we don't follow them, if they are commanding us to do that, which is not from Allah subhanaw taala. And, you know, you need to reach out to other Muslims. And because our real family is within the within the family of Islam. And so I pray that Allah would make it easy for you in your life. And, you know, we need to make to offer this person, you know, and for others who are

02:12:22--> 02:13:07

struggling, you know, with Muslims, you know, who are just cultural Muslims. Another question says, in terms of advice for the young people, for the young people, you know, I believe that the young people more than anybody else are feeling the effects of the globalization. And inshallah I want to talk more about this tomorrow night, in Sharla, about this issue and how it is impacting upon our nation. But in terms of the internet technology, the digital technology, they are really under this pressure a lot. And my advice is, don't spend your time or the majority of your time in front of the television. Because they are creating a false world, they are making an illusion, and they have the

02:13:07--> 02:13:08

ability to make it seem real.

02:13:09--> 02:13:26

You need to spend more time traveling in nature, playing sports, you know, look at the real creation of a lot, don't look at the other false creations. Because if that becomes your arm, the basis of your world, then you are being taught racism,

02:13:27--> 02:14:09

you are being taught class ism. And you're also being brainwashed into be a shape, being ashamed of yourself, ashamed of your color, ashamed of your language, ashamed of your people. And it is it is purposely being done. And, you know, when you look at these programs too much, that becomes your reality, or that becomes the base in which you judge the rest of the world. But if you spend more time, if not all of your time, you know, looking at the real creations of Allah, then right then if you if a TV is in front of you, or movies in front of you, you can see how shake tonic The thing is, you can see with Alliance, right? So So and then so the sitting type things, we just sitting there,

02:14:09--> 02:14:29

and you're an observer, and it's been a message is being pumped into your mind, don't spend that much time in front of that tube, give it up right and go out into nature, be involved in action oriented programs, right. So so your life can become real and not, you know, like a Hollywood construct.

02:14:31--> 02:14:34

Also, you know, this question of Islam and culture.

02:14:35--> 02:14:59

The young people who study Islam study, you know, the Quran, the Sunnah, the first three generations, the early generations, study how they practice and then you will see the real Islam, okay, then you can judge what is going on, you know, in later generations, and especially today and you will see some of the cultural practices that happened within your own family, you know, and you will see, you will be able to start to distinguish between one and another.

02:15:00--> 02:15:08

And this is very important for us. Because it seems confusing many times what is happening in our families? Another question is saying,

02:15:09--> 02:15:51

is there any sin in delivering the newspaper? Okay, I'm not a Mufti?

02:15:51--> 02:15:54

halaal goal, the halaal restaurant deliver their food,

02:15:55--> 02:16:03

right? Well, I'll try to deliver you know, you have delivery skills, right? You can use your delivery skills for the skills for something else, other than delivering the newspaper.

02:16:04--> 02:16:25

The question says, what could you tell us about the simple step to go forward to bring the Islamic unity? Okay, these are enshrined in those 10 points that I gave all those seven points that I gave the other question, it said, Why did you study Islam in Africa? That's an interesting question.

02:16:26--> 02:17:13

Well, to be honest with you, I studied this, partly because of my own desire to understand my roots, okay, and the connection between my family and Muslims. Because many times when new Muslim when you accept Islam, and I accepted, I had accepted Islam hamdulillah. And when you accept Islam, sometimes you feel isolated. And you know, the people say this new Muslims this revert or convert or whatever, and they say this Muslims born and Muslim families, as though the people born in Muslim families are the authentic, true Muslims. And the ones who accept Islam or like, you know, like we say, US Lee and tuck lady like, one is asleep, the original, and the other is a, you know, a, an imitation,

02:17:13--> 02:17:27

imitation product, you know, they used to say, made in Japan, right, but now, you know, people want things made in Japan, right? So, Ashley and tuck lady, you know, you see that really, all of the Sahaba, you know, accepted Islam.

02:17:29--> 02:17:41

And there are some of the Sahaba were drinking problems, and kill people and fighting problems. And they had many problems, and they accepted Islam, and they were the best generation. Okay.

02:17:42--> 02:18:21

And so I was searching, and I found out that, um, you know, when I was first coming into Islam, you know, it was through the study, it was within African history. And in West Africa, many of the great kingdoms, their empires, were actually

02:18:21--> 02:19:08

Islamic, Mali, and sangai, and cities like Timbuktu and Gen ne and all that these are actually cities of learning. Okay, so I found this out. And I became very interested in this. And I found out that over 30% of the people who are captured and taken to America has captured prisoners of war slaves, were actually Muslims. I was shocked to find out that there were a law in Brazil, in Jamaica, in Haiti, in Trinidad and Suriname, in the United States who were writing books in classical Arabic during the slavery period. Okay, so when I found these things out, it became very interesting. And then in terms of Dao, which I have been involved in all my life as a Muslim, and

02:19:08--> 02:19:20

Sharla hope to be involved in for the rest of my life, that this call of Tao in America, that if you go to the town, if you go to a university, and you say, we're having a problem, or what is this law,

02:19:21--> 02:19:22

nobody's going to come.

02:19:23--> 02:19:33

Okay, most people they want controversy or they want something that interest because their programs, right. But if we said we are studying African history, roots,

02:19:34--> 02:19:37

okay. Hundreds of people come

02:19:38--> 02:19:59

because they want to know about their roots. And so we give shows them about Islam, on the African continent and the great scholars that were there, and the contributions made, and through that we are able to give out. Also, I found that there were great luminaries, great leaders, great scholars in on the African continent, you'd be surprised to know that

02:20:00--> 02:20:50

In the 15th and 16th century, scholars came from hijas and they went to Timbuktu. And when they went there, they found a city of 100% Muslims with 1000s of books. Just recently, the President of South Africa, went to Timbuktu. And he visited the city and he found 15,000 books in Arabic, still in somebody's house 15,000 books in one house and court yet, still there and on science, math, astronomy, medicine, everything is there. At one point, the scholars found over 80 to 90,000 books was in the homes in Timbuktu. That's only in this century. It was a great center of learning. And so through this, we were able to understand more about Islam. The beauty of Islam has always spread in

02:20:50--> 02:20:55

different parts of the world, and also able to give doubt by using this methodology.

02:20:57--> 02:21:38

It said that, do you recommend that people marry the same culture of intermix? It seems to me that not many people have mixed cultural marriages because they are racists. Okay, I'm happy to have the question. Since you know really marriage as we know should be based upon the dean and you know that the promise of Solomon has told us very clearly that you should marry for for things that that you know, you should marry for, you should marry for wealth, marry for genealogy NASA, you know, you can marry also for beauty, but you should marry for Dean and then you'll be successful. Okay, the bass rough translation of the Hadeeth. So this these four categories that you look at what we're dealing

02:21:38--> 02:21:58

with marriage, okay. But some people they put nessa as number one, and everything is the family and the genealogy. Okay. Some people say to their young daughter or son in cultural Islam, they say to them, do what you want to do, go to college, play around, do anything. But when you're ready to get married, you got to marry your cousin.

02:22:00--> 02:22:02

That's it. You gotta marry your cousin.

02:22:03--> 02:22:03

Okay.

02:22:05--> 02:22:25

This is not the way of the prophets, Allah Salah. And one of the one of the blessings in the fact that he was allowed to marry so many times, he broke down all types of barriers. He married somebody who was not as Try not his his color. Right? A woman who was divorced before a woman who was previously from a Jewish family.

02:22:26--> 02:22:55

Right, he married her. So we broke down all the artificial barriers that we have in our minds, okay. He broke down all of those barriers. And so these barriers, you know, these things should not be the basis of the marriage. I'm not saying that you shouldn't take it into account. They are sections in Kapha are where you are judging, you should judge based upon these things. You should ask about somebody's family. You should ask about their wealth. You know, if the brother wants to marry you sisters, make sure he's got a job, man.

02:22:57--> 02:23:04

You know, he says, Yes, I'll marry you and Quran and Sunnah. All I have is Quran and Sunnah. Okay, Mashallah. But you got to have a house, man.

02:23:05--> 02:23:06

You got to have a job, right?

02:23:08--> 02:23:20

You got to have a job. Okay. So these are factors that you have to we have to get involved in. And I would say that really, when a community when you come to a jamaa

02:23:21--> 02:23:29

in a city that has all types of Muslims, and you see in the mosque, or the gathering, there's only one type of people, something's wrong.

02:23:30--> 02:24:01

Okay? When you see a mixed gathering such as this, you know, something's going right. It's Islamic, because Islam is supposed to bring together all nationalities, all groupings is supposed to bring it together. And that is one of the blessings of people in America, who are very mixed up, you know, they have mixed genealogies, right? like myself, right? So you have African, you have European, and you have native Indian, right, Indian Mohawk tribe, and you have all types of things in your blood, you know, so you don't worry about these issues. All of us are from Adam and Adam is from dust.

02:24:04--> 02:24:05

The next question is saying,

02:24:07--> 02:24:11

Please, I need Okay, saying that isn't allowed

02:24:12--> 02:24:23

to get the nationality of a non Muslim country. And I don't intend to live here. But you know, I want to get medical benefits. Am I deceiving the society and whatnot?

02:24:24--> 02:24:27

We have to be honest with what we are saying to people.

02:24:28--> 02:24:46

And really what happens in Canada, unfortunately, is that some Muslims came to Canada, and they will actually they came and they actually deceived the society. They came in, they had welfare under four or five different names, you know, and they had jobs. And some of them were even sending their wives

02:24:48--> 02:25:00

down to the social welfare office, and she comes in full head job, and she reports and she says, I'm not married. So the people say you're not married, okay. And you almost

02:25:00--> 02:25:06

practicing this Okay, we sign you up 10 months later, she comes with a baby.

02:25:07--> 02:25:18

Right? And she's still collecting her check. So the person says, oh, what happened to you? You are holy people. Then where'd you get the baby from if you're not married?

02:25:19--> 02:25:32

Right? So she has to lie to the people and say I'm not married. And really and surely I'm not a Mufti. But if you're making statements like that, this is serious, man. You're telling people I'm not married, you're swearing that you're not married.

02:25:34--> 02:25:47

Okay, and when you swear oaths like this, even if it is to the coffee room, you're not in a hot war with someone is going to shoot you and kill you if he's to give you you know, other brothers over there over there. And if the brothers were over there, I'd say they're over there, sir.

02:25:48--> 02:26:32

Right? I can lie like that. But can you lie because you want extra money to buy leather coats? Or to buy new cars? that's that that's not right. That's not right. And we shouldn't take advantage of anybody. And it is through our good character, and our honesty, that Islam spread in Southeast Asia. And in many parts of the world, no armies came into Southeast Asia, but it was good merchants who had good character, honesty, justice, that's what spread Islam. And so we should set an example, you know, of honesty and justice and the group that that we were in Allah knows best the MD imams Council in Canada, you know, said, especially for people who were in very dire situation, if the

02:26:32--> 02:26:45

person had to take the oath to the country in order to be in the country, there's nothing wrong with that, you know, you know, you have to take it as something that you have to do. But, you know, our ultimate allegiance is to Allah subhanaw taala. That is the reality.

02:26:46--> 02:26:47

Another question is saying,

02:26:52--> 02:26:54

okay, so describe the deception

02:26:55--> 02:27:17

that Muslims have toward Christians and other people, the lack of forgiveness, understanding and harboring of bad feelings. Okay, one of the deceptions or one of the wrong understandings that Muslims have in dealing with Christians, and Jews and other people of the book is that, you know, Islam is a way of life.

02:27:18--> 02:27:23

And I found out that when I accepted Islam, that I was practicing a lot of Islam already.

02:27:25--> 02:27:57

I was already doing that. Because the same principles of being honest and being good, and trying to have a family and to get married, and to eat good food, I was already doing it, I stopped drinking alcohol. Before I was a Muslim, I stopped taking drugs before I was a Muslim, I stopped eating pork before I was a Muslim. So there are many things that I was already doing. But Islam now as the last message, it gives you the clear explanation for the things that the People of the Book have lost, because the scriptures of the People of the Book have been confused.

02:27:59--> 02:28:09

And so Islam gives the right direction. But Muslims, Islam, when you accept Islam, you accept it not for Muslims, you accept it for Islam, for Allah subhanaw taala.

02:28:10--> 02:28:48

And that is the true guidance. And so you find that many people, you know, who are not Muslims have many characteristics of Islam, also tawheed many people already have the oneness of God. And you find it in many of the cultures. So this is how you need to look at the people, when we are dealing with the people coming from other cultures is that we are not the only people who believe in one God, we're not the only people who tell the truth, or not the only people who try to eat clean things. Other people do that just as much as us. But we are blessed with the last messenger who gives the complete message. The clear message is here. The revelation is here, in the original

02:28:48--> 02:29:23

language, that's what we have. And this is what has helped us not to go astray, like the other nations, because we still have the book, we still have the sooner and we can go back around in the circle back up to the top. And this is what has blessed us, not we Muslims ourselves, because it was just us. We would have been gone a long time ago man who would have gone 500 years ago. But Allah is the one who raises up people. And many of the people who accept Islam actually turned out to be the leaders of Islam. Right. And this has happened throughout our history throughout Islamic history.

02:29:24--> 02:29:25

It says that

02:29:26--> 02:29:32

is just she was said the sister say I was jealous of a girl, a beautiful girl.

02:29:33--> 02:29:46

You know, of her beauty and everything. And, you know, he said I know it's Haram, but I can't help it. You know, you know, she's just too beautiful. Can't help us. Okay, um,

02:29:48--> 02:29:59

this is a very honest question and it's real. But what you have to understand is that real beauty is not just in the physical out

02:30:00--> 02:30:30

Part of the person. The real beauty in the person is the character and the taqwa. These are the things that that really makes a person beautiful. And our beauty, our physical self changes over time. Right? And everybody will change. Okay, so if you see beauty and something else or somebody else, you say Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed and tested that person with beauty. Because sometimes a beautiful woman today, really in this world is in trouble.

02:30:31--> 02:31:07

Because there's all types of what you call peeping Toms, and John's and all type of things chasing you know what a beautiful woman is chased down the street, everyone's looking at her. Her life is a fitna, in a society that we live in today. I'm sure you I'm sure you have the beauty, but but you don't really know it, right. But you know, because

02:31:07--> 02:31:15

they have that this this fable they used to say about Mirror mirror on the wall, you know, who's the most beautiful person of all? And they also say like, um, you know,

02:31:17--> 02:31:53

the grass is always greener in the other fellows yard. Right? Those are used to say, so his grass is always greener than that's the shaytaan. But he had to be that. Right? He had some strange dream that he was

02:31:53--> 02:31:56

Elizabeth Taylor, or Diana Ross or something like this.

02:31:59--> 02:32:21

And so it transformed himself. He's not satisfied with himself. This is rudaw. It's deception. He is deceived. He had everything in the world going for himself, but he's not satisfied. You see, that's the essence of deception. So we need to look inside ourselves for other aspects other than just physical beauty. It says, You speak about.

02:32:26--> 02:32:39

Okay, they're also saying you speak about unity. And I began by saying this person is a teacher, and they want to instill Islamic awareness, you know, in the youth, you know, what can they do to help really in the school situation?

02:32:40--> 02:32:44

What would you do if you were a teacher in these difficult times, really,

02:32:45--> 02:32:49

in the Islamic school, especially the teachers job is crucial.

02:32:51--> 02:33:00

And really, the teacher is the frontlines. And I have spoken to teachers and many Islamic schools, because really, they don't they underestimate the importance of the job.

02:33:01--> 02:33:43

Because when that's to teacher is teaching the student, that teacher actually represents the Messenger of Allah, because you can't see the prophets or someone even deeper than that, you can't see a law. So that person in a sense, represents everything in Islam to that child. So you are holding a great Amana in your hand. You see, and really, you know, Allah subhanaw taala will bless you greatly for trying in any way that you possibly can to instill the character. So we all need to upgrade ourselves. We need to study the work of great scholars study the Hadith, and try to raise our taqwa, raise our consciousness, so we can try to give this to the youth in the best way that we

02:33:43--> 02:33:44

possibly can.

02:33:45--> 02:33:58

Another question is saying I'm an Australian, from a Christian background, who was extremely intrigued by Islam and hope to grow and learning more about it. What is the best way to go about? I would say that, you know, it's important for anybody

02:34:00--> 02:34:03

to study, read, study, meet people.

02:34:04--> 02:34:44

But when I got the Quran itself, and I read it, and I began to read the life of the prophet SAW them, I said, this is the person who I want to follow him. And the way he acts, the way he treats people, the way he struggles, this is the character This is the personality. And this is what you need to really do at this time, you know, to focus on this on

02:34:44--> 02:34:52

the principles of Islam, and to try to get different opinions from the Muslims. But if you feel something in your heart, then you should act upon that as soon as possible.

02:34:53--> 02:34:58

Another question, which is very similar to it, which I want to read right away. It is saying that

02:35:01--> 02:35:11

That there's even a person who's feeling about reverting to Islam. Right, but they want it to do it by themselves, and only do it by themselves. Okay?

02:35:12--> 02:35:22

Really, Islam is not an organization. So when you accept Islam, you're not signing on the dotted lines, right? It is something that you do is between you and Allah.

02:35:23--> 02:36:00

But the Muslims bear witness to this. And it does not have to be in a large crowd of people can be very with one or two people that can be right. But you should have somebody who can help you say the words properly, right and to make sure your understanding is correct. And also to be a witness to the fact that you have come in. This is very important. And if you want to do it tonight, I would humbly advise you and encourage you that if you have that feeling, you should act upon it immediately. Because only Allah knows how long that will live, you should be a witness to the oneness of Allah. If you've come this close, then the shaytaan, and the forces of evil will try to

02:36:00--> 02:36:11

stop you from coming into Islam. So you should be a witness as soon as possible. And realize that you go and stages go in stages, you don't have to do everything immediately.

02:36:13--> 02:36:25

But you learn your faith properly. And then you begin to learn different aspects of Islam and you put it into your life. And then you move in stages, right, you don't have to do everything right away. And it is even permissible

02:36:26--> 02:37:00

that if your family was too strict, right, you don't have to announce it to all your relatives, now your family immediately.

02:37:00--> 02:37:05

Allah guide you and bless you. And may you may lead you into Islam as soon as possible.

02:37:07--> 02:37:48

is also saying in terms of the best way of avoiding deception.

02:37:48--> 02:37:49

from the horse's mouth,

02:37:51--> 02:38:30

go to the source. And if, for instance, somebody's studying about a battle that happened, don't just study the position of the winner of the battle. What happened to the losers? What happened to the people who were watching the battle and whose house got ruined by these crazy people fighting each other? Get the opinion of all different types of people, then you understand the phenomenon in the proper way. What is happening today is that people take only from one source, right, and then they form their opinion. And they don't go to two primary sources to understand issues from the people themselves. This is why it is important for us, as Muslims to go to the society to go to public to

02:38:30--> 02:38:46

the public, reach out to the people and explain to them what is Islam and so they won't think that Muslims are just these terrorists blowing up the building. And Otto swats niggas against us and Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal, and everyone in the world is chasing us not everyone's chasing us,

02:38:47--> 02:38:54

right? Or Aladdin in the lamp and all this other stuff, right or blowing up buildings with destroying the world. This is the hype.

02:38:56--> 02:39:25

02:39:26--> 02:40:00

That we can protect ourselves from the plots of the evil one happening within our own hearts and our own lives. And if we begin to do this inshallah, and maybe Allah would make us vessels of the truth that allow would make us deserving and worthy to hold the banner of Islam in these times. Only a lot decides when it is time for Muslims to have authority, but he has promised us if we believe if we have patience, he will eventually give us authority in this earth and the Prophet

02:40:00--> 02:40:19

Solomon's told us this message will enter every single home. One day inshallah this message will go all around the world and it will enter every single home. look below carry health caffeine, while mostly corn will not feel cool, even if they hate it. This is the word of Allah. It's not our words.

02:40:20--> 02:41:02

It's not our it's like a fool trying to blow out the sun. You can't blow out the sun. If you gather together all the people in the world you blew at the sun, you'll never put out the light of Allah. No matter how many people you try to kill, or you try to hurt a disgrace, you will never put out the light of Allah and Allah has raised people in the past and inshallah he is capable and has shown us in his book that he is willing to raise up believers, but let us take the first step. In the law you too might be common, or you might be a physician, allow them to change the condition of a people until they change that which is in themselves. Aku Kali how the stock Fulani welcome so political
