is being tested. You are either being tested with

difficulties and hardships.

You might say prosperity, can prosperity be a test? Yes, it is.

and afraid for their lives, because bombs and the sound of machine guns go off in their area on a daily basis.

When the sun rises, they don't know if they will see it set. And when it sets, they don't know whether they will see it rise.

They're facing a lot of difficulties. Yet we are in a situation where many of us here we are in prosperity, those who are being tested with hardships and difficulties.

Those are difficult tests yet

That test is easier than the test of prosperity

might say how can that be the case? The reason is because when someone goes through hardship, they're more likely to return to Allah.

But those who are in prosperity,

they are less likely to be thankful for what they have.

And what is being thankful mean, being thankful means you use the blessings that you have in the obedience of Allah. So when they're being tested, yes, they're being tested. When they're being tested. We're being tested that same time to see if we are

living in the United States of America where we are right now. Where are we going to do anything about it?

Can we do anything to help them

and so if we're given that opportunity to help others,

Well, having wealth is not something that's bad,

but not being thankful for what you have

is something that is not praiseworthy. It's something that we have to reflect upon all the time. And that's why we see people in different situations, and sometimes a person is born without an eye or a hand or their mental state is not complete, as honors, you might say, Why are they born in such a way, it is to remind us of things that we take for granted on a daily basis, that we're able to see, we're able to hear, we have all the faculties

we have to spend those blessings in the obedience of Allah, and to help others and that's what makes us happy. It is not the collecting of the wealth that makes us happy. But it's the spending of it in the path of Allah helping others helping the needy and those who are less fortunate than ourselves. And that is why a Harvard professor by the name of Michael Norton,

the level of happiness did not change. Even though they spent the money on themselves, they treated themselves with the money that they were given. And they were given. It's not just one group of people, the poor people and the rich people and people from different parts of the world. And they tested this, and they asked different people of different social statuses and wealth and things like that.

And then they gave some money to another group of people.

And they said, use this money and spend it on somebody else, make them happy.

Buy something for someone, make someone happy, give it to someone,

And then that's something that's pleasing to Allah subhanho wa Taala. And that is why when you see someone who is very wealthy, someone is very wealthy, you have

Why is that the case? Well, this is an indication that these people you know, they have they have what we want the majority of people think they have everything

yet money doesn't bring happiness. And before you have a you think that you know what, you still have hopes, but will you've reached that level and you see that you're still not happy? And that there's still there's something missing, then that's

So, you see some people, the super wealthy at the end of their lives. Most of them end up being philanthropists. They end up spending their wealth and helping others and spending it, building wealth, helping cure malaria and things like that. Why?

It's because they realize that what brings you happiness isn't the amassing of wealth. But it's spending that wealth to make others happy to help others, because that's what we have been created to do. And so by helping others, and helping alleviate hardships and difficulties from others, Allah subhanho wa Taala the day of judgment will help us. And when you're asked to help, you are being tested just like they're being tested. But they're more likely to pass the test because they're going to return to God. mean they're going to supplicate to God. And they're going to increase in their worship. But us when we're given something, we are being tested with the, the trials and tribulations of prosperity. And so when someone stands up and says, you know, there are brothers and sisters, and there are people who need

help, in such in such a country, there are orphans who are in need, there are widows who are in need, there are people who are hungry, and you have money, and you have wealth that Allah has granted you and you don't give, you have failed the test.
