Alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu.

I hope and pray that everyone is well on this blessed day a Friday, a day that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, is a day of light, a day of illumination, a day of nearness and closeness to Allah subhanaw taala. There is a reserved hour during this day, a time during this day, when the supplications of people are accepted by Allah.

This is a day on which the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam he advised us to send Salawat to send peace and blessings and salutations doodled upon the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam abundantly. This is a day on which the prophets a lot he said I'm taught us to commit to reciting the Quran on a regular basis, particularly surah number 18. So to get half, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam demonstrated and he instructed us to have a regular practice of reading sort of to get half every single Friday. So this is indeed a very, very blessed and remarkable day. And as has probably been said on previous sessions of the Friday reminder,

it is not lost on me.

The difficulty, the adversity, and the unusual nature of our circumstances, where many of us are still not able to attend the masjid or different congregations, even where there are congregations occurring, then it is a very brief short congregation. But we are all missing and lacking that inspiration, that motivation that insight that we

gain on the day of Friday, where Allah subhanaw taala says either new deal is Salatu Meeow meeow. eager once again, to get that nourishment for your hearts. In the current circumstance, the predicament of the pandemic that we face right now, that's something that is not as available. That is something that has become very difficult than scarce to acquire due to the circumstances. But it's important for us to utilize whatever means we do have whatever outlets we do have whatever capability we possess, to do the best that we can, and to do the most that we can. The Prophet of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says in a very beautiful Hadith, that man he took a man who fetched any boo, the Prophet sallallahu Sallam says, When I tell you to abstain from something, the

prophet to lobbyism says what I tell you to stay away from something, to abstain from something, to desist with something

first, and

then stay away from it. abandon it, immediately stop engaging in it. Well, my mother token behavior. And when I tell you to do something, when I instruct you to do something, to mean who must have taught them, then do it to the best of your ability, do it to the best of your ability. And so we are supposed to engage with the remembrance of Allah subhanaw taala we're supposed to be inspired and motivated, and to be reinvigorated in our commitment to Allah subhanaw taala on the day of Friday, that is a function of July. And there's an ideal way to do it. If that is not available, then it becomes

it becomes our responsibility to do the best that we can. And so in light of that, in the spirit of that we join you here every Friday afternoon in the current circumstances, to be able to provide a little insight and motivation for ourselves and also be able to share some of this inspiration with y'all at home.

So

The theme that we're going to be talking about and that overall dominates the days that we are in right now is the Prophet Ibrahim alayhis. Salam, the month of

the 100 without the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the spirit of the season of Hajj. And through all of that we have a very clear focus on the Prophet Ibrahim Ali said, I mean, let's be clear about him as a loss of power which Allah says, The Prophet of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, our messenger Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when he was asked Maha de la Bahia, Rasul Allah, the Messenger of God the sacrifices that we offer, what is the purpose? What is the objective? What exactly is the inspiration behind the sacrifice? And the Prophet of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said sooner to abiko Ibrahim, that this is the tradition established by your

spiritual forefather Ibrahim alayhis salam. Ibrahim Ali Salaam is willing to even confront his own father about what he believes Ibrahim alayhis salam is ordered by Allah subhanaw taala to leave his family in the middle of nowhere.

And it was actually the sacred place of the Kaaba. But at that time as he sees it, he describes it, boo. I didn't add that I there's nothing growing there. There's no signs of life there.

Ibrahim alayhi salam, and he does so Ibrahim Ali son was commanded by Allah subhanho wa Taala to sacrifice his son.

And again, he's willing to do that. Allah subhanho wa Taala spares him from that, but he's willing to go through with it if that's what Allah subhanaw taala commands and requires time and time again and the last panel will tell us summarizes it best. And he's able to thrive and succeed in the face of every single test and trial that he faces. And what I wanted to highlight is, while all these events are very remarkable and profound, and we would benefit from an in depth discussion about any of them,

but what I specifically wanted to talk about is something Allah subhanaw taala brings our attention to in Seurat Ibrahim, the sutra named after Ibrahim Ali Sina sutra number 14

intuitive Rahim where Allah subhanaw taala tells us about Ibrahim Ali Salam at the end.

Allah subhanho wa Taala says something very interesting in the in the beginning of the sutra

that there are a few things here a few principles

Also,

there are a few principles here in the beginning stated in the beginning of the sutra, that thematically helps you understand who Ibrahim Alayhi Salam is, why he does what he does, and how he's able to do what he's able to do.

So Allah subhanaw taala says, first and foremost, what is the other than a broken leg in Chicago Tula as either know

that if you are grateful,

that I shall increase you. Allah subhanaw taala says, if you are grateful, Allah is telling us that if we are grateful, then he Allah will increase us.

See, to take on challenges to face adversity head on, to be able to succeed through difficulty and tragedy and adversity and trial and tribulation. Because if you are not grateful for what you have, if you are not grateful for what you have been given, then the moment that tragedy strikes, the moment that difficulty arrives,

you're only going to be thinking about one thing, you're going only going to be obsessing about the fact that why me Why me?

What am I supposed to do with this? How am I supposed to handle this? What am I supposed to do now.

But if you have a baseline, if you have a foundation of gratitude to Allah subhanaw taala. And one thing goes wrong. That's exactly what you'll think at that time, is that one thing has gone wrong, and 100 other things are correct and right.

100 other things are correct and right.

It's the summertime.

Like many other people, I might have had some plans to take my kids here to take my family there, to vacation or to have some, you know, excursion, you go out to explore, you see different places, I might have had some plans like that along with a lot of other people. Maybe in the current situation, that's not something that's, you know, I feel like I'm able to do.

So, once again, if I do not have a baseline, a foundation of gratitude, all I'm going to be thinking about is, oh, man, I worked hard all year long. The kids went to school, we finally have summer, and now our summers ruined, we don't have anything anymore. versus if I have a baseline and a foundation of gratitude, that I'm sitting there thinking I'm still alive and healthy, with a roof over my head.

with bread on the table.

My wife and my kids are alive and healthy,

safe and sound. We're all together

with a roof over our head bread on our table Imani in our hearts.

And if I have that foundation, I'm thinking about that, then when I think about the fact that Oh, but I wasn't able to go here, I wasn't able to do that.

Then at that point in time, that will not rattle me, that will not shake me because I know what I do have they in Shackleton? And through that gratitude, Allah subhanaw taala says he will give you more. But if you think about it, you grow in that moment. You grow you realize more and more blessings in that moment.

Let us see the next. The second principle that I wanted to highlight here, that is talked about in the beginning of surah number 14, so let's Ebrahim and it helps us understand.

You know, who Ibrahim Alayhi Salam is all what he did and how he was able to do what he was able to do.

Do the believers place their faith in their trust.

And then in verse number 12, while marlana

put our faith in our trust in our reliance upon Allah? Why wouldn't we

he's the one who showed us the way

to show trust, to show faith, to show reliance.

Let those who have the ability, the capacity to show faith and trust, let them put their faith and trust in Allah and only and solely upon the law.

And so these are two principles that we see here laid out for us to very foundational ideals laid out here in the beginning of sort of to Brahim that helps to decipher it is decipher it helps us understand the stories and the experiences of Ibrahim Ali Sara, that how is somebody able to endure that and do that? Stand up?

In the face of such difficulty, such adversity, be able to make such profound sacrifices? How is someone able to do that? What when they are grateful to Allah for what they have?

And then they put their faith and trust in Allah?

Then really anything is possible.

And to illustrate this, I will close with this one particular moment from the life of Ibrahim Ali Salam that is illustrated to us in the Quran, you might have, you know, heard me talk about this before previously. If that's the case, I apologize. But nonetheless, the Quran tells us whether kid we need to continuously be reminded

that they cannot infer meaning because there are benefits to believer. So Allah subhanaw taala in Surah number 21 tells us about one particular moment from the life of Ibrahim alayhis Salam welaka atina Ibrahim urrutia NaVi alameen he came of age he was a young man now young adults is a bee You owe me he Mojave Timothy realty until the hockey phone. He told his people his father, what are the sculptures the statues that you worship? Other than God? Follow? Would you then I bought another hobby then they said we found our forefathers worshipping them. that he turns to Allah.

Allah says putting now we we decreed we said we pronounced at that moment in time. Yeah, now. Oh fire. Cooney berdan wa salam and Allah Ibrahim

become cool and peaceful. Cool and safe. Upon Ibrahim

I have faith, I have human, I know who you are, I worship you. And he was grateful for his faith, even when his life was in jeopardy, think about that.

And number two, look at how much faith and trust he has in Allah.

And then

even the impossible,

the seemingly impossible, what people would call it impossible. It's totally possible.

Miracles will happen.

But we first have to remember to be grateful.

And we got to remind ourselves to put our faith and trust in Allah. Now I know that's easier said than done.

I'm certain somebody's thinking, well, that's easier said than done, brother.

But there is a pathway to it, there is a formula to it, there is a method for it. And that method is, initially you'll have to start off by just telling yourself that you put your trust in Allah telecontrol Allah Allah, I put my trust in Allah. That's all you got. You just tell yourself that and tell yourself that every time you face a difficulty, tell yourself that when you wake up in the morning, tell yourself that in the afternoon, tell yourself that when you are going to bed at night, I put my trust in Allah. And you will keep telling yourself and then you'll start arriving at moments where you'll get the opportunity to practice that. And ultimately it will start to become

your reality, your default mode, that you just have your faith in your trust in Allah.

May Allah subhanaw taala grant us all Eamonn May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant his gratitude, and May Allah subhanaw taala grant us the trust, the resolve, the resilience and the reliance upon Allah, as demonstrated by the prayer by the great prophet and messenger of Allah, Ibrahim alayhis salam.
