Welcome to the show of Ramadan, a date with Dr. Zakir I'm your host Yousef chambers and today we will be discussing the topic, common errors committed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan. So, without further ado, let's ask the first question of Dr. Zakir Naik. Dr. Zakir
what are the reasons behind Muslims continually falling into these same errors? Ramadan after Ramadan

in surah, uncovered, Chapter 29 was the most 69 that those who strive in the way of Allah subhanaw taala. Those who do jihad feasable Allah, Allah subhana wa Taala opens his pathways for them to the criteria for us to get the guidance of Allah subhanaw taala the criteria for us where Allah subhanaw taala will open up our pathways is to strive in this way to do justice, Allah. And Allah says in the Quran in surah, Chapter 16
verse 43, as well as for the ambia chapter number 21 verse number seven, Allah says, first Alou holistically in quantum law, which means, if you do not
possess or if you doubt,
then ask the person who possesses the knowledge. If you doubt anything, ask the person who's knowledgeable.
And hamdulillah. We have in oma several Muslims who are scholars in this team. So it's our duty to ask these scholars, these people who have the knowledge of Islam, regarding the rules and regulations of our Deen
as far as
fastings concern, which is one of the important Pillars of Islam, every Muslim should know, at least, when is the time for fasting? What are the basic rules and regulation. And today, in the age of science and technology, it's very easy to find. It is only the negligence of a Muslim that makes them unaware of these things. It's very easy to know when is the time for fasting windows fast begin the day before? When is the time for a start for breaking the fast? What are the things that break the fast etc etc. It is mainly due to the negligence and ignorance of the Muslims that we regularly keep on falling and committing the same mistakes. Furthermore, what are the common errors that are
made by Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
The common errors committed by the Muslims in the month of Ramadan can be broadly classified into four categories. The first category is the common errors committed by Muslims regarding the obvious
Gayatri rules and regulations of fasting.
The second category is the common errors committed by Muslims which are contradictory to the Sunnah of fasting.
The third category
is the errors committed by Muslims, mainly
due to neglecting the obligated duties in Islam and
indulging in Acts which are prohibited.
And the fourth category is the other common errors committed by Muslims in the month of Ramadan.
Clearly, Dr. Zakir, it's going to be difficult for us to discuss all of the common errors made by Muslims during the month of Ramadan
in this one interview, but over the next 32 days, we will inshallah try to cover those issues, but could you just state or list the most grievous mistakes made by Muslims in the month of Ramadan? As far as the common errors that fall in the first two categories? inshallah we'll be discussing in detail in the next inshallah 30 days, I will, inshallah speak about the common errors committed in the third and fourth category. Before we discuss categories three and four, can we at least list the most common errors from sections one and two, the most grievous amongst the errors in the first category, that is errors committed regarding the obligatory rules and regulations of fasting is the
most common is that Muslims, many times, they don't do the Nia for fasting. intention is very important. Without Nia, without intention, the fasting is not accepted. So making intention is obligatory, and we've been discussing this inshallah, in detail in shelter model. The sixth
common error made by Muslims in this category is that many Muslims, they eat excessively during Easter, and many of them even eat throughout the night.
The seventh common error is that many of them, they are negligent as far as traffic is concerned, because traffic is not a fourth, they think it is no problem. But specifically, we should be more careful, we should be careful trying to avoid these acts for the life. But in Ramadan, we should be more careful. And the most common number one, the Muslims involve themselves is backbiting and slandering.
backbiting is a great sin.
And Allah says in the Quran, in Surah, Chapter 14, verse number 12, that those who backbite they are people who eat the dead meat of the own brother,
to backbiting and slandering is one of the grievous sins. The second common error in this category is

and that was this, there is a lot of wastage of food. So this was in brief regarding
the list of mistakes done by persons commonly in the third category, that is indulging in Acts which are prohibited and neglecting acts which are first in Islam.
So does exactly what are the other common errors committed by Muslims during the month of Ramadan.
The other common errors covered by Muslims in the month of Ramadan. The third category is number one is that many of the Muslims, they stay awake the full night and then the sleep in the day.
And they do the normal activity, the nighttime and sleep in the daytime. They're converting day into night and 900 a day and the whole purpose of fasting is defeated.
The second error in this category is that many of the Muslims they remain lazy and inactive during the daytime, which is contrary to the spirit of fasting. The third common error is that many of the Muslims they try and kill their time during the day by playing

The sixth common error is that many of the Muslims, they renovate
the house and they shop in the month of Ramadan. Spend more time in that then
miming Allah subhanaw taala the seventh common error is that many of the Muslims
they spend their nights instead of removing Allah subhanaw taala in activities which are unproductive, for example,
they spend the time
in excessive socializing after tarawih. There's a massive many of the Muslims, they spend many nights and most parts of the nights in shopping.
The 10th common error is many of the Muslims, they spend most of the time in the night anything.
The 11th is many of the Muslims, they spend their time in Roby.
And in loitering during the night. And that was common errors. The last 10 days of Ramadan are mainly the days in which the Muslims should do more bother. But most of the Muslims, they spend time in shopping in celebrating and preparing themselves for it.
And most of them spend time in activity with the unproductive rather than spending the time in Nevada. These are some of the other common areas that Muslims commit and I hope inshallah that they will abstain from these arrows in future Irishmen. all the errors that are mentioned earlier, by General Muslims throughout the world, there are some errors which are made mainly by people living in certain country, a certain culture for example, in the Indian subcontinent, that people live in India and Pakistan and Sri Lanka
during Ramadan, many of the Muslims in the night they play night cricket
and they spend most of the time in night cricket rather than doing a bother of Allah subhanaw taala. So this playing net cricket is more common in the Indian subcontinent.
If you go to the Arab countries, especially the Gulf countries, there many of the offices
many of the working places that is in the market, etc. They change the timings. They hardly work for a couple of hours in the daytime, and they open most of the time during night. So what happens it encourages people to do shopping in the night, rather than the day and they get more business and they inviting people rather in spending time in women, Allah subhanaw taala Muslim spend that time in shopping in eating during nighttime. And furthermore, those people who are employed in the shops they're forced to come at nighttime because it's the duty so these Muslims live in preventing their employees
rather than a mimic Allah Spano tala, involving themselves in business and spending most of the time in activities which are not 100% toxic each

will nullify the past. But the chances are way negligible. What our beloved Professor Lawson said, as mentioned as I headed up without one number 200 number 2360. But you have to put the water in the

And remember, several years back when I was in school, and when I heard this hadith that the devils are in the month of Ramadan, immediately the question that came to my mind and the question that comes to many Muslims mind and many non Muslims is that if the devils are chained, then how do people how do human beings get committed? Since
this question is based on the data from masala Salaam, which I mentioned earlier? I say hadith of Muslim amod
volume number two, Page Number 230 Hadith number 7148 which is also repeated in
Sunnyside, chapter number five. How did number 2106 were the Beloved Prophet said
that only people the blessing month of Ramadan is approaching.
And Allah has ordained for you that you fast in this month.
And
the gates of heaven will be open in this month and the gates of hell will be closed and the devils will be chained
in this month is a night
which is better than 1000 months. And a person who's deprived of the blessing than this man is truly a depressed person. So when we get this added,
it clearly mentions that in this month of Ramadan, the devil's will be chained and so logical question if there is the chain, then how the human being that committed sins
to make the people understand
realize that when the devils are chained, it does not mean that the devil is asleep. They have been killed, yet present, but they're chained.
They're not killed, the power is in there, but it is diminished. For a better understanding. I like to give you an example, that when there is a lion, or a tiger who is free, there are high chances that he may kill you. You're likely ninja. But the moment that Tiger or that line is chained, you're safe.
You're safe as long as you maintain a safe distance.
After the tiger has been chained, if you come too close to him, there are chances that you can be killed. So as long as you maintain that distance from the tiger, who is chained, you are safe. Similarly, in the month of Ramadan, if you maintain a safe distance from the Satan, you will be saved. And if you read the Quran, Allah says in Surah Baqarah chapter two was the 116th. Be careful of the Hooda to shaitan of the footsteps of the devil, for his to you and about enemy. Many places a last minute Allah says in the Quran, that Be careful of the footsteps of the devil.
Allah doesn't say that Be careful of the devil. Because a normal Muslim, an average Muslim, who has every man, when he sees the devil in front of him, he will be careful. For example,
suppose that a young girl
who comes to an average Muslim, young boy,
who has average man, if a young girl comes and tells him that let's spend the night together,
that Muslim will say, spending the night together with a girl is haram. It is dinner, he will immediately object. But that same girl, if that girl phones, that young boy and speaks to him on the phone, the boy will say, speaking to a girl on the phone, there is no problem. So he speaks to the girl for a few times on the phone for a few minutes. Later on, the girl says, Let's go and have some snacks in McDonald's. And Kentucky Fried Chicken, having snacks for a few minutes for half an hour with a girl and McDonald's. No problem. See goes enhance snacks with the girl and McDonald's. later on. If the devil comes directly in front of an average Muslim who has the man he will abstain, he will run away from it. But the kutako shaytan are the things which are dangerous. So what we have realized, when the devil is chained
his footsteps are restricted.
So many of the things are prevented. But if we go close to him,
then the chances that we'll be overtaken by the devil and commit a sin are very high. So what we have to be careful that in Ramadan, if we keep the distance, then the chance of committing sin is less. But if we go close to the Satan, even though he's chained, like our Tiger can walk even after his chin, same the devil. So this is my understanding. And applauded Prophet said the devil is that chain, the devil can it move, but left distance. So if we keep the distance we'll be safe.
The second reason that I feel is that
in the month of Ramadan, do the devils are chained. We fail to realize that the balanced 11 months they are free
and the impact that the devil has on the human beings for these 11 months. It leaves those impact that impression in the month of Ramadan. To give a better understanding. I always give the example
that there are drug peddlers which try and get customers, the youngsters from the colleges from the universities to what they do initially, they give the drug free
and the entice the youngsters fighting drugs later on after some time, they charge a nominal amount for the drug. later on. They charge an exorbitant amount. But by the time the youngster is already hooked on to the drug.
So even if the drug dealer is not there, they will try and find where the drug dealer is. They will go out of the way to find them and get the drug
Many of them, even if the drug peddler, the drug dealer is imprisoned by the law, they will go out of their way to find someone else. They may go in a chemist shop and buy mandrakes whatever it is, they're so much hooked on to it. So these people who have become addicted
to drugs, or other say addicted to the Satan, even though the Satan is imprisoned, the effect is that they so this big understand as a drug dealer, as a duck peddler, even after it goes, the drug addict,
gets accustomed to the drug to V human beings, we are accustomed to the sin. And even though the Satan is imprisoned, we keep on committing these mistakes, but mainly those people who have become addicts fall in this category. So those who made the sin for this category, but the normal Muslims, the average Muslim who haven't become addicted, it's easy for them to stay away from sin.
And the third reason that I give
is
that though there are some scholars who say that in this month of Ramadan, the strong devils, the moderates, then present, the smaller ones afraid. So that keep on coming in mistakes, but on my understanding,
the third reason is
that
Whoa, the devils are chained by Allah subhanaw taala they can yet whisper and one of the ways the devil's try and get the human beings close to them is the spring.

The whisper in the hearts of the human beings and they withdraw amongst them. That gentleman is talking about the satanist talking about the devils whispering to the hearts of the human being and the withdrawal. And among these devils are the jinn and the human beings. So maybe Allah subhana wa Taala has imprisoned the devils who are the jinn. But the human beings we are yet free. So one category of devils that the gyms have been in prison, but the Satan's or even
amongst the men. That's what the law says.
While you're free, and yet we have to be careful of the whisper of the devil. The boss was a, this was mainly his thing that attacks towards the sin, the sin that committed but the chances are less. seeking the door of Allah subhanaw taala surely the devil will not be able to entice you. And the best logical way to prove this is if we check the crime rate
of
the Muslim countries during Ramadan it goes down.
But if you check the crime rate of the non Muslim countries in them that it is the same.
The reason is that because they are not fasting, the non Muslims, this devil yet has an effect on them.
Because the Muslims are fasting,
if not all properly at least majority or at least quite a large number. So because of that the crime rate in the Muslim countries in the month of Ramadan is low as compared to the other ones, but the crime rate in the non Muslim country is approximately the same indicating otherwise, even the non Muslims they will not come at me since the criteria is that they have to fast properly for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala. Well, the last question today regarding Prophet Muhammad SAW some statement which you mentioned in your last answer regarding the fact the gates of Paradise are open and the gates of hell are closed. Does this mean that we will be going to paradise if we die in this blessed
month? This is the same question in the same Hadith, same Hadith which occurred earlier of muslin amod. run up to page number 230 added number 7148 and it also appears in chapter number 500 number 2106 again,
Same Hadith, the prophet said, he told the people that the blessing of Ramadan is approaching, and allies are in for you, that you fast in this month.
And in this month, the gates of heaven reopen, and the gates of hell will be closed, and the devils will be chained in this month of the night of Qatar, which is more blessed than 1000 months.
And a person who is deprived of the pleasures of the blessings in this month is truly a deprived person. Here again, this is a common question that if the gates of having open and the gates of hell are closed, then anyone who dies but naturally go to the gym, because the gates of hell are closed and open. Does it mean that even if a non Muslim dies in this month, they will be left to go to them? The reply to this question is, when Allah says, that is in this month from man, the gates of heaven are open, it means the gates of heaven inviting you to enter.
