Salam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

00:00:09--> 00:00:13

Philomena praise is to the Lord of the world.

00:00:14--> 00:00:23

I was just thinking now, about a subject, we spoke about sins, about evil, about doing the wrong things.

00:00:24--> 00:00:52

And it occurred to me that there was a big evil, a very major sin, something called maaseiah. In Arabic, that happened long ago, at the time of the Prophet Adam, Alisa them. And I thought maybe you would like to know about this subject. You see, Adam and Eve, are now living on the earth after leaving the paradise. And then Eve, she was going to have a baby.

00:00:54--> 00:01:14

And To their surprise, they had two babies at the same time, exact same time, two babies came. And in English, we call this twins. In Arabic, it's called talam. Tao unknit means twins. She had a boy and she had a girl.

00:01:16--> 00:01:21

And then some years later, she also had twins again.

00:01:22--> 00:01:33

Again, a boy and a girl. Now these children grew up, they grew up there on the earth, with Adam and Eve. How.

00:01:35--> 00:01:38

And then, it was time for them to get married.

00:01:39--> 00:01:50

And Adam had inspiration which came to him from Allah, this is what happens with prophets, you know, they get ideas from Allah. So he told his son

00:01:51--> 00:02:32

that he needs to get married to the sister but not his own sister, but the one of the other. So there are two sets of twins. So the boy from one group needs to marry the girl from the other group. And then the boy from this group, he will marry this girl. And that was the way it was supposed to be. But there was a problem. One boy, his name is Habib. Now in English, they call him Cain. He didn't like the idea. He didn't like it at all. Because his brother's twin sister, his brother's name was hobby, Hubble's twin sister was not very pretty.

00:02:33--> 00:02:42

And in fact, the really pretty one was the sister from his own, his own twin sister. So he wanted to marry his own sister.

00:02:44--> 00:02:47

So he disobeyed his father Adam

00:02:48--> 00:03:20

said, I refuse, I'm not going to marry her. I want my own sister. Now, again, Adam gets inspiration from a law because he has a law, which is good for us to do. When you have any problem. You asked the law. Adam, he asked the law, it came to him, they should offer each one a sacrifice, offer some sacrifice to a law, whichever one that Allah accepts, this will be the right one. So you he's talking to cane? Or do you offer some sacrifice?

00:03:22--> 00:04:12

And have you able his name able in English, you offer a sacrifice. And whichever one Allah accepts, this is the one who gets to make this choice. But Adam, all of a sudden, he already has idea which one is going to be because he knows the inspiration. So they offered it. Now what did they offer? Well have you now he was a person we call it animal husbandry, but in simple terms, he took care of animals. He raised animals. So he took the best sheep that he had the best one. And he offered it sacrifice to a law to find out, you know, follow accept from him. But kabil Cain, the one who didn't like the idea, he worked with plants in a garden, she had many things, but he took the worst of the

00:04:12--> 00:04:19

fruit that he had not something good, took the worst. And he said, Okay, I'll give that for sacrifice to a law.

00:04:21--> 00:04:52

Then fire came down and consumed the sacrifice of habil, which is the RAM. When this happens, it becomes obvious. Allah wants her bill to marry the sister of a bill. And Bill needs to marry the sister of Hi Bill that have to just what Adam said. But even after this obvious, very clear event takes place. I mean, this is a miracle, right? Amazing. So it's obvious. Clear.

00:04:54--> 00:04:56

Kabir still said No, it won't do it.

00:04:57--> 00:04:59

But now he's becoming

00:05:00--> 00:05:52

Very angry inside. He's afraid. He doesn't want to lose the chance to marry his own sister. He loved her. He, he actually is more than love. He had this, this desire, like we call it lust. After his own sister, she was beautiful. He wants her he doesn't want the other one. He doesn't think anymore. That clear thinking just once. Well, what happened? told his brother, Bill, he said, I will fight you, I will kill you. Because he figured, okay, if he's dead, then he's out of my way. And I will take the one I want. I will do that. His brother? He said, No, no, what you do is what you do, but me, I'm not gonna fight you. And I'm not gonna kill you. And if you fight me, if you kill me, then

00:05:53--> 00:05:54

you when you die,

00:05:55--> 00:06:46

can go to hell for that, and you will take all my sins with you to hell. But even then Camille's brain didn't tell him he's doing something wrong. So he began to just boom, boom, boom, take like big stone, it killed his brother. Now a lot tells us in the Quran is Muslims, whoever takes the innocent life, whoever kills the innocent person. It's as though they killed all the human beings. But whoever saved your life. It's as though they saved all the human beings. Do you see that? It's very important to know it. But now let's come back to the story and see what happens next. Kabir is looking at his brother like, there is dead now what do I do? What do I do with him? What can I How

00:06:46--> 00:07:09

can I put this? It said that he even carried him around for a long time and kill the body began to smell bad. What will I do? What How will I I don't know what to do. Look at this. And then Allah sent two birds. We call them crows. You know, those big black birds make a lot of noise, ah, like this, a bill is watching them.

00:07:10--> 00:07:26

Until one he killed the other one. He said, Whoa, what's that. And then the crow began to dig the ground, dig the ground, dig the ground metal hole, and they push the other dead bird into the hole. And then the crow push the dirt over the way.

00:07:28--> 00:07:35

Kabir said, Ah, look at this. And I couldn't even think what to do. But now. So he dug a hole.

00:07:37--> 00:07:46

And he put his brother in the hole and covered it up. And today, we still very Muslims the same way don't we dig a hole, we put them in the ground.

00:07:47--> 00:07:49

A lot of things come from this story.

00:07:50--> 00:08:34

Many things come from destroyed. One of the things that we learn right away is about something called hassad. Has it is envy. This is when you're jealous, because somebody else has something and you want it. Even though it's not logical. It's not yours. You just said I want that. I want that. I want that. And he wanted what belonged to his brother. So much so that He even went against his father, his brother told him what to do. nearly went against the law. A lot showed him what to do. And then he went against his brother and even killed him because of this hassle, and where does it come from? And we talked about that we talked about what they call the dichotomy of the thinking of

00:08:34--> 00:08:56

the human being. I'm gonna make it easy for you to understand. This means to know right from wrong. do you no good. And you know, evil, good and bad. You know, right? Yes. It's good to tell the truth, isn't it? Yeah, but it's bad to lie isn't? Yes. It's good, to be honest. But it's bad to cheat, isn't it?

00:08:57--> 00:09:07

It's certainly good to help people. But it's bad to hurt them. Yeah. And never Is it right to take innocent life to kill anybody. True.

00:09:08--> 00:09:55

So we learn a lot, that inside the human being, there are these two things clicking all the time. Now in Islam, we know something. We know when you're born you're born pure, innocent and sweet luchador Holic know, insanity. Asana. jacquimo, Allah says, He created human being in the best shape, the best fumar reductor know philosophically, and this means that they're reduced to the lowest lowest lowest base of human beings. And how does that happen? Because Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him told us that what happens when you're born, Allah attaches to you something called Korean and Arabic, or as they call it in psychiatry, an alter ego or an ID doesn't matter what you

00:09:55--> 00:09:59

call it. What it means is you've got two things going for you. One is telling you to do

00:10:00--> 00:10:28

Good. The other one is telling you to do back when the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, told this, they asked him, Do you have one Jew? He said, Oh, yes, but Allah made mine submit, which is Islam or Islam. So we know that every human being has this capacity. So inside of you, sometimes you get a good idea to do something. But sometimes you get a bad idea to do something. Yeah.

00:10:29--> 00:10:34

So it's up to you to make the choice, though, isn't it? It's up to you.

00:10:36--> 00:10:55

If you want to do something good, you should do it. But if you want to do something bad, you have to tell yourself, this is wrong. Don't do it. Right. So we know that every human being has this capacity. So inside of you, sometimes you get a good idea to do something. But sometimes you get a bad idea to do something. Yeah.

00:10:57--> 00:11:02

So it's up to you to make the choice, though, isn't it? Yeah, it's up to you.

00:11:03--> 00:11:13

If you want to do something good, you should do it. But if you want to do something bad, you have to tell yourself, this is wrong. Don't do it. My right. Now what happened next?

00:11:14--> 00:11:15

When

00:11:16--> 00:11:18

qabil was back to his father,

00:11:20--> 00:11:43

his father is looking where? Where is my son? What are his hobbies? Look what he says, am I supposed to take care of my brother and my his protector. And the way he said it, Adam, he understands something's happened to his son. It became very sad. stories have it that that's when kabil had to be kicked out, away, go away from us.

00:11:44--> 00:12:01

But then Allah gave him more children. Adam had more children. And we'll be talking about those children too. Would you like to know the name of another one of the sons that came afterwards? Well, in English, they call him Seth. Seth, can you say Seth,

00:12:02--> 00:12:04

but an Arabic she's.

00:12:07--> 00:12:59

The difference is because in Hebrew, the letters are opposite between seen and sheen. So that's why in Hebrew, they say shalom. And in Arabic, we say Salaam, so set, Chef or chef. Anyway, he was good. He was really good. And he worked hard. And he did good things. And his father was very happy with him. And he had children. And from him came a good leader, and from him another from him another and another. And finally, there was one who was so powerful in the land. And this one, he used to take all the trees and cut them and make things which nobody did before. He started building buildings and forts. And it said that he is the one who built first location in Babylon, which is today in

00:12:59--> 00:13:50

Iraq. Yes, so many generations came after Adam as a synonym, and some were good, some were bad. What I wanted to talk about is this big sin. There's major sins and killing is one of the major sins. But what's really interesting is in the Koran, and in the Bible, we found something amazing that in the order, it's called priorities. The first thing of all, is never make partners with a law. Always you worship Allah alone with no partners. That's number one. In the Bible that tells him Thou shalt not have any Gods beside God. In the Quran, it said, La Ilaha Illa law, meaning there is no god beside a law for worship, you have to give everything to a law. After that, it tells us clearly that you have

00:13:50--> 00:14:29

to obey your pants. Be good to your pants, you have to this is in Islam. There's a story we find in the Koran about somebody named Luqman. In fact, there's a chapter of the Quran called Surah lukeman. And look, man had a son, and he was giving his son good advice. You know what he told him, my son, whatever you do, always worship Allah alone with no partners. And don't let anybody confuse you on this issue, Your Worship Allah, La Ilaha Illa law. Then he continued, he said, and you obey your parents in anything, obey your parents.

00:14:30--> 00:14:59

In less, they want you to do something like worship some gods that you have no knowledge of, don't worship these false gods. Other than that you obey your parents. Well, when I look in the Bible, I find essentially the same thing shelling them, you obey your parents, you obey your parents, you honor them, you take care of them, when they become old, and infirm. The Quran says you take care of them and no matter how

00:15:00--> 00:15:38

How hard it is to take care of your parents, maybe they get you know, like old people get an order to deal with, you can't even say off, while you're taking care of them, just keep taking care of them, take care of them. Because if you do, then Allah is going to take care of you. The way Allah says in the front, you lower the wing of mercy to your parents, especially when they become old like this. You want to always, always remember how important it is to take care of your parents. And what's interesting is the next commandment in the Bible, and the next commandment in the Koran is the one about don't kill anybody.

00:15:39--> 00:16:28

It's It's true. Look how important it is to be good to your parents. And then remember the story of Adam and see what happens. Remember, Adam told his son, you need to marry this girl. And he told the other one you need to marry this girl. From what happened he disobeyed his obey? Didn't you see exactly what Allah is saying? In the Quran, and what we find even in the Bible, that one God, or the god beside him, and what refers to that, and then obedience, and honor Are your parents, and then don't kill anybody. So this is really, really important to know how much Allah really wants you to care for your parents, and obey them. And let me explain something to you. So you understand. When

00:16:28--> 00:17:12

you're real little, you're real small, you don't know anything, do you? Nothing. You're just a baby, who takes care of your parents, right? And as your parents are taking care of you, they're showing you how to live. They're teaching you what to do, they show you how to talk, they show you how to walk, show you how to eat, they teach you everything. So you obey them. You follow that? until you find something they do that you know, is wrong, that you don't do. If your parents smoke cigarettes, is that right? No, it isn't. So should you smoke because they smoke? No, no, you shouldn't smoke. But you still have to honor them, don't you? You don't go up to them and insult them and say, Hey,

00:17:12--> 00:17:20

you don't smoke. Children don't talk to their parents. That way. It's wrong, isn't it? If the parents drink alcohol, this is very bad, isn't it?

00:17:22--> 00:17:26

And you shouldn't drink alcohol. But still, you have to take care of your parents.

00:17:27--> 00:17:42

Now, sometimes, even the parents are not Muslim. Sometimes one or both of the parents, maybe they don't believe in La la la la. What should you do? Should you just leave them okay? You don't believe? Go jump in the lake? No.

00:17:44--> 00:17:57

You have to take care of them. Be kind to them. You even have to give them presents and gifts. Did you know that and if they need anything, you have to take care of Why? Because you don't do it for the parents. You do it for a law.

00:17:58--> 00:18:40

You do it because on the Day of Judgment, Allah, he's not going to look at the ones who didn't take care of their parents, whoever was bad to their parents, Allah is not even going to look at him. So be careful how you take care of your parent. And always we know you don't kill anything. But in Islam, we also know it's wrong to take any innocent life, not just the human life. But you can't go around killing dogs and cats either. Just for fun, you're gonna go kill an animal. No, we don't have that in Islam. There's no sport of killing animals in Islam. Killing is totally wrong. Unless there is what a purpose, we only kill the animal to eat it. And even then we say Bismillah before we check

00:18:40--> 00:19:34

the life, and we use all of it, we eat and we will use the skin. And we thank Allah for that. But we don't abuse the animals. We don't hurt them. And we only take life when it's necessary. Another point is we also don't torture animals. You know, like some people pull the wing on a butterfly and think it's funny. He's flapping one wing and he can't fly this I know this is really bad and Islam. Allah hates it when you do that. This is called oppression, room. Any kind of oppression that you do is wrong. You want to know what Allah said about this. Allah says that he never oppresses, he forbids himself to do Golem on anybody. Allah never ever, ever, ever oppresses anybody. And he hates

00:19:34--> 00:19:53

it when we oppress each other. So maybe you know, some boys that are smaller than you and you can push them around. And when you do this, this is called Golem. And Allah does not like this. Whenever you push around somebody smaller than you, when you take advantage of somebody, maybe you're rich and they're poor, and you will tell them, hey,

00:19:54--> 00:19:55

do this do that.

00:19:56--> 00:19:59

When you do this, this is normal. It's not funny.

00:20:00--> 00:20:01

Very serious.

00:20:02--> 00:20:05

And when girls make fun of other girls,

00:20:06--> 00:20:08

and beautiful and you're not

00:20:09--> 00:20:48

really bad, really, really bad. So we stay away from small things like we spoke about before, stay away from the bigger sense. And we certainly stay away from masya What is my secret? And again, this is like when you kill somebody, this is massive, big, massive, huge. Also, if a person kills themselves, if you kill yourself, if anybody kills themselves, I'll never forgive them for that, ever. You know why? Because it means you give up on a lot. You don't like what Allah has planned. So you do something on your own. And, of course, taking your life means you don't believe that Allah is the one who gives life and God. So Allah he's not gonna forget that.

00:20:50--> 00:21:36

The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him toward us. Whoever stabs himself to death Hmm. In this life, you will find him in the Hellfire and the next life doing what? stabbing himself over and over whatever he used to kill himself here, it will be using that in the hellfire. But remember to what Allah says in the Quran, whoever saves the life, whoever saves the life, it's like what? Like he saved all mankind. And you know, one of the best, best things you can do to help people to save them. Tell them about the lives of these prophets. Let them know the truth about the message that these prophets brought. Because when people understand how important it is to follow these steps,

00:21:36--> 00:22:11

then they can also live good because if people believe in the law, and he's one, and they believe in the message that comes with it, how we treat each other, how we don't oppress each other, how we behave with each other, then certainly this will improve the society, the people that you live with. And our law tells us that in the Quran about Amr Bill maroof what's going on here moon car, what you mean una bella being the best of people because you call to the right way of life, Allah, Allah forbid the things which take people away from what Allah has commanded. And you believe in Allah, La Ilaha

00:22:12--> 00:22:13

Illa

00:22:14--> 00:22:15

Let's say it together

00:22:16--> 00:22:24

in La, La La. I love that. I love to say that because it makes me feel good all over

00:22:25--> 00:22:26

rahmatullah wa barakato.

00:22:34--> 00:22:36

salaam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh

00:22:41--> 00:22:55

hamdulillah. I mean, the praise is to the Lord of the worlds. You know, I was thinking about something very important, something that people talk about a lot these days, called Haram, and halau.

00:22:56--> 00:23:05

What is haram me, that means anything, which is forbidden, and you shouldn't do it. halau means things that you can do is they're permitted.

00:23:06--> 00:23:37

When I first looked at Islam, I knew something about the profits from before. But after I learned about the prophets in Islam, I learned a lot more about this subject of halal and haram. I used to be confused, can I eat this food or not eat that food? Is this okay? Or is that okay? Can I drink this? Or this? How come this? How come that it seemed contradictory and confusing many times. When I came in Islam, I learned a good rule. This is a general rule that all the people can understand easy.

00:23:38--> 00:23:50

Anything you want to do in this world? You know, the life that we live in. And Arabic is called higher to junior life higher of the material world junior high.

00:23:51--> 00:24:00

And anything you want to do is okay, anything is okay. In less and less you see proof that you can't do it.

00:24:01--> 00:24:42

Let's understand that again. Does that mean I can lie? No. Because that's forbidden, isn't it? Does that mean I can cheat? No. That's forbidden. can't kill anything without reason like animal you can kill it to eat only? Yeah. But other things. What have I said? Well, I would like to know, because at the time of, let's say Prophet Moses, people didn't have cars, did they? So how do I know if I could write in a car? Maybe it's haraam? I need to know if they have microwave oven. No. Can I use the microwave oven to cook my food? I don't know. Is it okay or not? Okay. At the time of Moosa at a cinema, they also didn't have cigarettes.

00:24:44--> 00:24:48

So how do I know if it's haram? Is it forbidden or not?

00:24:49--> 00:24:59

There are many questions that come in my mind. But I remember the rule. In this world. You can do it unless you find the evidence, the proof that says no, no

00:25:00--> 00:25:18

No. Let's look at an example. One example let's see, I want to ride a bicycle. But nobody had a bicycle even the time of muhammad the last prophet peace be upon him. Nobody had a bicycle. So can I ride a bicycle or no? The rule says, If I don't find evidence against it, I can ride it.

00:25:19--> 00:25:54

Hmm. What did the prophets used to do? Okay, all the prophets they used to write donkeys. They used to ride camels or horses or whatever they had they wrote it. Yeah. Even goats, I guess. Who knows? Maybe sheep? I don't know. But they didn't have any law anywhere from scripture from Revelation that says, No, you can't ride this. You can't ride that. So how about boat profits, even road boats? We know a very famous story. They'll be telling you about later about a prophet who wound up on a boat for a while.

00:25:56--> 00:26:34

In fact, we know about nor Allison I'm here at a very boat journey, so they could ride on boats. Would you like to know what Noah said when he got on the boat? A lot inspired nor what to say. And this is what we use when we write anything even if you want to ride your bicycle. You can say this. Who knows what it is. You know it Bismillah supernova de Sahar Alanna Haida from acuna, la mcrainey was in Ravenna, the moon, Kali Boone. Do you know this one? Yes. Who knows this one already? You say it with me? We say Bismillah first right Bismillah

00:26:35--> 00:26:36

Alhamdulillah.

00:26:37--> 00:26:58

Now let's say su Pon Allah de ser Alanna has lahmacun Allahumma okra Nene. Why in in the Ravenna law moon gala Boone? When I first learned it, I said, What's the moon got to do with it? They said what I said I heard you say La moon. And

00:27:00--> 00:27:39

I said, What does it mean? They said, Okay, okay, okay, because you get in the car, or you get in the boat, or you get in the airplane or you get on the donkey, whatever you say to a law, this Superman allottee suparna means to glorify the majesty of a law. So upon Allah, the glory to the one who gave us the sucker means the control, who gave us the control over how the other means this. The praise is to the one who gave us the control over this vehicle, the car or the animal, or bicycle, whatever,

00:27:40--> 00:27:48

which we wouldn't have, unless he gave it to us. I'll give you the control, but you would not be able to do it if I didn't give it to ya.

00:27:50--> 00:28:28

And then it says real clear in there, that the real journey because you're going to go on a journey you see, the real journey is to go back to a law. The real journey is to go back to Allah subhanho wa Taala the rub Ballymena Lord of the worlds so it means I learned from this that I can ride my bicycle. But I should say this. If I'm going to go on a journey, I should say this Don't ever I'm going to ride in a car on a boat in an airplane or whatever. It's okay. But there are some things I should do. And I should follow it as much as I can. But can I take somebody else's bicycle? without permission? Just go

00:28:30--> 00:28:33

Whoo. I like this bicycle. It's shiny. It's pretty as a bell.

00:28:34--> 00:28:39

Oh, man. Isn't that a horn Honk honk. I'm having fun here.

00:28:40--> 00:28:54

But did I get permission? No. So what is this haraam? Yes, it's not because of a bicycle. Not because of that, or injury or the Hong Kong is because of the word, no permission. It's called stealing.

00:28:55--> 00:29:28

And that's another sin mentioned real clear in the Koran. Also in previous scriptures. You can't steal anything. So this is around what's haram? Not the bicycle the stealing of the bicycle. Also, can I drive my bicycle over somebody else's flowers? Polo those fun? Little is there? Boom. into the flower. Can I do that? No. Why? Because it belongs to them. If I asked some lady by the way, those are pretty flowers. Can I grab my bicycle over what she could tell you? Get out of here much known you crazy guy go away.

00:29:30--> 00:29:36

There's another part two of Hello in Rome. When it comes to the worship of a law,

00:29:37--> 00:29:38

everything is haram.

00:29:39--> 00:29:44

You can't do anything except what Allah has shown you you can do.

00:29:45--> 00:29:54

Think about this for a minute. It means you can't make up any religion. You can't do anything unless you find the proof to do it.

00:29:55--> 00:29:57

I love a lot you love a lot.

00:29:58--> 00:30:00

So you want to show a lot how much

00:30:00--> 00:30:08

Loving. So you say, Well, I'm going to pick all these flowers right here, which I like these flowers and throw them in the water and say, Allah, I did that for you. is Allah gonna accept that?

00:30:10--> 00:30:27

No, because he didn't ask you to do that. He didn't ask you to grab somebody else's flowers and throw them in the water and do that. Or have you said I'm going to jump up and down on my bicycle 20 times everyday and Allah he's gonna love that. Is he gonna like it? No, you did it cuz you like it? Yeah. Or if I'm going to go swimming for a law, we don't have that.

00:30:28--> 00:30:42

There's nothing like this. If you want to worship alone, you worship him the way he told you how to worship Him. Let me share with you what the law says about this subject. This is the Hadith from the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. He told us

00:30:43--> 00:31:26

that he declares war. It's called Harbin Arabic language. He declares Harb war on anybody who acts bad to a friend of his, he said and nobody comes closer to me with anything that I love more than what I told him to do in the first place. So you like to love a law you want a lot of love you What do you need to do? You need to do what he ordered you to do in the Quran. A lot to a prophet Muhammad what to say. Colin guten to de buena Lofa Tabby oni you've come along? Well, you have to come to Nobuko well, ah, before I came, in this case, look what Allah is saying. say to them, Mohammed say to them, because some people came to Mohammed. Oh, a lot of a lot people do that today.

00:31:26--> 00:31:34

I love the law. Why don't you wear hijab? I love a law don't bother me. Allah. Why don't you pray? I don't need to do so. I love Allah.

00:31:35--> 00:31:47

Why don't you fast? It's Ramadan. I don't need to Allah, Allah don't bother me. They will talk like that. But here's the answer. say to them, oh, Mohammed, if you really love a law, then follow me.

00:31:48--> 00:31:52

Then, and only then will allow love you.

00:31:53--> 00:32:35

And he will forgive your sins, as he's the forgiver. And he's the merciful. Does that make sense? Yes, it makes big sense, I think because the worship of a law is what gets you into paradise. And it also is how you get forgiven for the mistakes you make in this life because we do make mistakes. But suppose I made a mistake. Maybe I did something wrong. And I said, Okay, now I need a love Forgive me, right? So will I go to this tree and tell this tree? Hey, tree, tell a lie. I'm really sorry. Okay. Will that benefit me? No, no. Why? Well, first of all, the tree didn't hear what I said. Anyway, second of all the tree is going to do anything is

00:32:36--> 00:33:14

that people do that. They have rock sticks, stones and bones that they pulled together and tried to make statues, images, and all kinds of things. And they go to that and they want that thing to forgive them rather than a law. So this is one of the key things, you have to understand that if you want to reach a law with the with something from you, you have to do it the way the prophets did it. Let me give an example. The Prophet Ibrahim, we've been talking about him a lot, haven't we? The Prophet Abraham, he wanted to worship a law. But he didn't know where a law was. He didn't know a law tells us in the Quran. He didn't know. But he knew there was only one God that he was sure. And

00:33:14--> 00:33:23

he knew that a law was not in the statues that his father used to make for the people of the temple. So what did he used to do?

00:33:24--> 00:34:08

He used to look to the sky and think, where's the law? How can I reach a law? Oh, oh, look, look at the stars. Wow. Well, that's something but then the stars went away said nada doesn't work. Then he saw the moon, hey, the moon, that maybe that's a law, but it goes away. The sun comes out. But the sun goes down. He said, Now, these things all come and go. And my God is not something that's going to go away. He's always wherever he is that he's the one who created created the heavens and earth in situ ion, which means six days or periods of done through Mars tower hours. And then he rose above his throne. And we don't say sits on we don't say he lays on it. We don't know. But he's up

00:34:08--> 00:34:19

and out of the creation. That's what we know about the law. So when we want to reach a low with our worship, when we want to send a message to Allah, all we have to do is clean the heart.

00:34:20--> 00:34:59

Clean the heart, and in the heart, ask Allah and then allow will hear and he will know what you want. So this is real clear. Let me give you another idea. I like to talk about the hedge. We haven't talked about that much yet. But we will be talking about that in future programs. The hedge is something that's associated with Ibrahim In fact, he's called hedge Ibrahim. Because of this hedge means pilgrimage, to go on a long journey to go to a place for the sake of a law and many people have pilgrimages Hindus have pilgrimages Jewish have pilgrimages. Christians have pilgrimages and Muslims

00:35:00--> 00:35:11

Have pilgrimages they have this harsh, but what will a lot except? And that's what we're talking about. Because maybe somebody could say, well, I want to make a new religion and make pilgrimage to the moon.

00:35:12--> 00:35:59

They could and say, I have a moon God up there and they can say crazy stuff. Like, does that mean they're really going to get to along with what they're doing? No, you need to know. Does it say anywhere in Scripture from real profits? Something like this? And the answer's no, then you must stay away. It's haraam to do worship, except what the Lord showed you to do. And back, the place of worship today for Muslims is called the place of haraam. Did you know that the Haram in Mecca means everything is around. Don't do anything there except what Allah order you to do. Even you can't kill ants there, you can't. You have to leave everything alone. Everything is around when you go to the

00:35:59--> 00:36:12

Haram in Mecca, except the right worship of Allah, to worship Him, to pray to Him, and to make your record or the bowing record, only for him only. It's all for lots of panels.

00:36:13--> 00:36:36

Let me give you another example. Whenever you're going to make Hodge or the pilgrimage or Omer Omer you can do anytime hard, you can only do once a year, right. But either case, when you're going to go for our or Hajj, you put something on the boys, girls, you can wear what you normally wear, but the boys have to put on something called what?

00:36:37--> 00:36:45

Ron, you're right. You knew that, didn't you? Are you pretty smart? Yeah, ROM comes from the same word.

00:36:47--> 00:36:54

Because as soon as you put these like two big towels, in my case, it's two huge towels because I'm very big.

00:36:57--> 00:37:06

You pull down the towel, and you put this towel on your roll that thing up, and then you get another towel and throw it over like this. And that's it. Do towels. That's all.

00:37:08--> 00:37:26

Yeah. And even I don't have my shoes on anymore. We're going with our bare feet. Did you know that? No. But the girls, you can keep your shoes, no problem. Allah is very merciful to the ladies. But you do have to wear your hijab. Yeah, that's not a joke that you've got to have in your

00:37:27--> 00:38:14

Rome. And then you go to for your house. But why is it called the one because when you put it on, then you can't do anything haram anymore. Even things like somebody smoke cigarettes. He can't do that when he's in it wrong. Because maybe Allah he's not going to accept his hij because he's doing something really wrong and he's wearing it wrong. Now guess what else? Every day Muslims are going into a from a state of everything is wrong. Do you know that? Every day Muslims are doing that? You know how? Because when you stand up to pray when you want to do Salah, you say oh like that? Yeah. And this is called tech beer. Tech biretta. How wrong? Am I wrong? Because after you do this,

00:38:14--> 00:38:34

everything so wrong. As soon as you start to break, can you eat? No. Rom. Can you drink? ROM? Can you talk on the telephone? Like this ring ring? So I'm gonna come now I'm really in slot right now. Can I call you but Oh, really? It's on TV right now. We'll turn it up. I'll listen to it while I do. So. Can you do that?

00:38:36--> 00:38:40

This is crazy. This is nuts. This is stupid.

00:38:43--> 00:38:56

So when you say Allahu Akbar, no matter what somebody calls you a Yo, Yo, what's up? What's up? I can't answer. Can I? Can I go like this? No.

00:38:57--> 00:39:08

I'm prayer. No, just keep praying to a lot. Think about Drew. does everything became her own. I'm worshiping along. I can't go walking around. Oh,

00:39:10--> 00:39:59

I have to finish so long. Until this this motion right here. Look at this motion. When you do this. You're going into a state of love. And now everything is between you and Allah until you finish and you say salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah salaam aleikum. wa rahmatullah until you do that. It's all for soon as I say Salaam Alaikum. Salam, okay, so I can answer the phone, I can do what I need to do. And when you worship alone, worship according to the way he wants you to worship. And how is that? We know in the worship, we pray five times a day. Yeah. And we fast the month of Ramadan. We give charity called Zika and we make

00:40:00--> 00:40:47

Hodge that I've been talking about, all of this is a part of worship. So the prophets taught their people, each Prophet taught his people, what they needed to know how to worship along. Some of the prophets we spoke about before, they came with clear revelation that the people passed on, for a period of time anyway. And those are called received messengers. And they came with clear messages for their people. This continued over the centuries and centuries and centuries, until the last prophet, which is Muhammad Sallallahu, wasallam. And what he came with was very clear, it's called Sharia of Islam, or Islamic law. And that is the final and last and the complete, of all, what Allah

00:40:47--> 00:41:26

wants you to do for what he wants you not to do. But for you and I today, we want to keep it simple. We want to make it easy. When you leave, and you go home, you want to be able to think, what can I use from what I learned today, it's easy. If it's in the world, you can do it unless it's Haram. But if it's in the worship to a law, you cannot do it, unless it's halau. And the only way it's halau, is if you find proof from the Quran, or from the teachings of the prophets, that says you can do it. And of course, we find that in Iran, and the teaching of Mohammed, several lives.

00:41:28--> 00:42:10

And I'm reminded to when I think about this, that all prophets always said basically the same thing. The only difference was when there were differences for their communities or their nations at that time. But the last prophet came for all nations and even for the jinn. He came even for the jinn and for the human beings. So halau and haraam for us is very clear. Very clear. And if you're in doubt, now, let's look at this last thing before we end this program. What if I'm in doubt? I'm not sure? Should I do this? Or should I not do this? If I do this, this will happen.

00:42:11--> 00:42:38

If I don't do it, that will happen. Then what I will look at, I'm going to look over here and see the results. And if I think it's going to be bad, should I do it? No, no. But if I think it will be good, then I'll do that. But what if I'm just not sure at all? I just doubt. I don't know. It might be if I do it, it's a lie. Maybe if I do it, it's cheating. Maybe if I do it, some people will be hurt. I'm not sure Should I do it?

00:42:39--> 00:42:44

Well, why? Because there is a possibility for haraam.

00:42:45--> 00:43:10

But what if I want to do a good deed? But I'm not sure it's going to be a good deed. But it looks like it could be a good deed. It's possible it could be good. And I don't see anything really bad. Should I do it? Yeah. Because it looks good. But when you're really in doubt, and you have no answer, Prophet Mohammed, the last prophet peace be upon him told us when you're in doubt, leave it.

00:43:11--> 00:44:00

Don't do it. Whatever makes you doubt, leave it for what doesn't make you doubt. And in Plano, Texas English, I always say, when in doubt, chicken out. Don't do it. Some boys come to you. And they say do this and do some girls come to you? Oh, I can do but you don't feel good about it. doesn't feel right. Don't do it. Stay away from it. And Allah, he'll reward you. Sometimes we're not sure we try our best. And there's something really nice in Islam about that. The scholars have to make decisions all the time. And they work hard to give you the answer. If they're right, in their answer, they get a double reward from a law. And if they're wrong, they still get one full good reward with a law.

00:44:01--> 00:44:14

Why? Because if you're wrong, that you tried your best, Allah knows your intention. And I want to end by saying what the prophet Muhammad said. And it was almost ready Allahu anhu said this.

00:44:15--> 00:44:54

He said that Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said that all of your actions are going to be rewarded according to the intention. Whatever you intended to do, Allah He will give you the reward for it if you mean to do good, that's what you'll have the reward, but if you meant to do bad, then that's what you had a punishment for. And he said in a mala, Mia, in her malo in Nia, everything is according to the need or the intention. So Let's all make a good intention that we're gonna do a lot he will like it. Good idea. And

00:44:55--> 00:44:57

salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato.

00:45:07--> 00:45:10

We've been talking about the profits up until now

00:45:11--> 00:45:18

in a general term, and talking about the effects of following what they brought,

00:45:19--> 00:46:05

and what happens when people don't follow it. And now what I like to do is to tell you a little bit of background of some of these profits so you can get a better understanding of how things came about. So you know, the stories, we talked about Adam, and we talked about his wife, how they were created. We also talked about their children and what happened to them. Then after that, we mentioned another child that came called sheet, or Seth is they call him an English, he was instructed by Adam, as a prophet himself, to know certain things like the alternation of day and night and the effects and the meaning of it. He also understood some of the prophecies of things to

00:46:05--> 00:46:15

come. Even he knew about the great flood that would come one day, when you're looking after Seth. He had a son.

00:46:16--> 00:46:18

And his name was anoosh. Can you say that?

00:46:19--> 00:46:22

Yeah. And then keen on non

00:46:24--> 00:46:25

mal halaby?

00:46:26--> 00:46:34

Who cares how you said their names, right? And then he had yard? That's a strange name, isn't it? Yeah. And then

00:46:38--> 00:47:29

I don't know what's a cleaner look. But we call him Enoch. And his name is also Idris. Now with Idris came the first time people really start to learn how to read or write and use letters and the basic language, like we sort of understand today. And Allah inspired him so much. In fact, he had some really good sayings, some excellent sayings, some of them reach us today. One of the things he said was, a person becomes very happy, when they look at their good deeds, to intercede for them with a law. What does that mean? It means when you do good deeds, then these things are good in front of a law and helps maybe offset the bad deeds. And by the way, the Prophet Muhammad peace be

00:47:29--> 00:47:42

upon him told us essentially that if you do a bad deed, follow it up with what good deed. Another thing that he taught us about is that if you really want to show your gratitude, to a law,

00:47:43--> 00:48:01

for what Allah gives you, then you share it with other people. And by the way, some time that's hard for people to do, because they have wealth, or they have some money or something. And you don't want to share that with other people. You want it for yourself, but Allah gave it to you. So if you want to really show a lot, thank you, you do what

00:48:02--> 00:48:15

you give it, and you share it? Well, after this one, after inocle Idris, he also had a son, and then he had a son. And then came

00:48:16--> 00:48:19

the next one for Noah or no.

00:48:20--> 00:49:05

And this is the one we want to talk about today a little bit about him. And we have talked about it to some extent. But we just talked about the flood and what happened. But what actually came about in the beginning helps you to really understand today's point. The point today being what happens when people worship other than a law. This is our main point to understand how real evil comes about we've been talking about since talking about evil. But what really brings it about is when people begin to worship other than a law. It comes in stages. And it's the same stages that came at the time of Noah la Salaam. What we know is that when people begin to worship other than the law, that's

00:49:05--> 00:49:31

the beginning of the breakdown. That's the real problem. And so what happened, there were times when there were very good people, very good people, and they used to worship a lot. And they were following the religion of Adam. And when I say religion, I mean the way of Adam, what he did, what he taught, and what he was all about, like a lot worshiping only a law and doing what Allah wants you to do.

00:49:33--> 00:49:38

One of the people who at that time was very religious, his name was what Dan?

00:49:40--> 00:49:59

Everybody loved what done and he was very nice. And he did what he worshipped along. He shared his wealth that Allah gave him with other people who was very kind, very nice. And then he died. And the people were sad. Oh my god, they were sad.

00:50:00--> 00:50:27

crying. And then shaytaan came to them and said, Oh, you're so sorry for what Don has gone? Yes. Yeah, he's both. So okay. How about if I give you like a picture of him? So you can remember him? This is this is good. A good idea. even make a statue of him. Oh, that's good. Put a statue in the meeting place where people used to sit and meet, put it right where he used to sit. Good idea.

00:50:29--> 00:50:34

And the people used to come and even look at it and remember what on what a great guy he was.

00:50:36--> 00:51:18

Then she had gone came to him again and said, How about I put one picture or image of him in your house and in your house? And in your out? Oh, good idea. So we'll remember him. We love him so much. And they did. Now the people didn't pray to Him. And they didn't think he was alone. But they did like those statues. And when those people died, and their children came in, they looked at them and they said, Who is this? This is what done? Who is what done? Okay. And they see, huh? Everybody seems to like this guy. So they start to ask, they're asking the statue for something. And their children did the same. And they began to believe if I need anything, I can ask what on the statue

00:51:19--> 00:51:45

for what do I need? Will it work? No. If they get it, it was really coming from a law. If they didn't get it, I was still because of a law. But they forgot about a law. And they started thinking about the statues. And it wasn't just were done. There was another one one that they thought had power, another one that they thought had wisdom, and another and another and all these used to be people and they died. And then they made the image or statue of those people.

00:51:47--> 00:51:54

The people became far away from the right way. Because they were practicing something wrong.

00:51:55--> 00:52:26

And we know it's not logical to ask from a rock or a stick or a stone. We already said that this doesn't fit in your thinking does it? It's wrong. So it's a lie. It always starts the same way. Watch what happens. Remember this story we talked about? When the children of Adam, they were upset? What happened? Because one of them, he doesn't want to obey his parents. Now. He didn't. He was disobedient to his parents marry this girl. He said no, I want to marry this one, remember?

00:52:27--> 00:52:42

And then when a law made it clear which one of them was right, which are the two boys, he still disobeyed. First, he disobeyed his parents, then he disobeyed along. Then what did he do? He became angry. And

00:52:43--> 00:52:56

he killed his own brother. You're right. This is horrible. Yeah. But you see how it comes, it starts with lies. It starts with envy. Oh, he wanted what his brother had, I want that for me.

00:52:57--> 00:53:40

So all of this adds up, and it adds up. And the people of the time of Noah were really bad, really, really bad. And they used to want everything for themselves and a few of them. They became rich, powerful and wealthy. But most of the people were poor. And they had nothing. So when your adolescent came along, inspired him, and let him understand the religion of Adam, the way of doing what Allah wants you to do. So he was very smart, by the way, high intellect. And he could argue with people in a good way. And he understood how to show them the signs, the signs they belong in the day. And what comes in the day is the sun. And what happens in the day, things grow. It becomes

00:53:40--> 00:54:25

warm. And this is the time for activity. Now what happens in the alternation, though, of the night, in the nighttime, what happens? It's cool, quiet, and dark. And what happens then you can look up or relax and think and look at the stars. Oh, we know our direction now by the stars. And we know that times the seasons by the position of the moon and the shape of the moon. And we can tell even what day it is by the moon. Yeah. So the people understood a lot from the signs. And he said this air signs from a law. This is from a law, not from the statutes that you guys have. And then he met with all of the gathering and ability to guys check this out. Listen up. Here's what I have for you. He

00:54:25--> 00:54:59

began to talk very high intellectual explaining things to them proving things and they were like, Huh, double shot shocked, because they hadn't heard something like this before. These statues can benefit you. There's no benefit here. Do you need something you ask a law plant stuff in the ground? let it grow out. Ask the Lord to give you water. Can these statues make water rain here? No, but a lot can cause he created everything. They're like, huh? Yeah, well, huh. They were pretty shocked. Now what happened right away the poor people

00:55:00--> 00:55:07

The downtrodden, they began to think, yeah, this makes sense. And they began to believe. And they began to follow no allissa now.

00:55:08--> 00:55:46

But the wealthy people, the powerful people, the community that said, No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't believe that. And besides, you know, you're no angel, you don't come to us and tell us anything. You know, I listen and said, okay, check it out. Did I tell you, I'm an angel. I'm a human like you. I'm no different than you. except Allah inspired me What to say? I'm just showing you signs. Oh, is it? Yeah, yeah. But you got all these losers, man, you got all these poor dudes with you. And I can be honest about it. If you want us in your religion, you need to kick these guys out. And then we'll talk about it because the rich and the powerful, can't be in the same religion with

00:55:46--> 00:55:48

the losers. And the losers. Let them go.

00:55:50--> 00:55:55

upon Allah Look at this. And what did know is and I'm telling him,

00:55:56--> 00:56:01

he said, No way. No way, I'm not gonna drive away the believers.

00:56:02--> 00:56:08

It's not for me to do that. If you want to believe this is with you. But if you want to disbelieve,

00:56:09--> 00:56:44

only Allah is going to be the guide. So what happened? They began to reject what he said. And then they would say this and that, and then he would bring more proof. Oh, darn, oh, what about this, and he would bring more proof and more signs. And this went on and on until they were exhausted, they were fed up, and they bring something else. And he bring more proof, because the law has many signs, many proofs for the disbeliever. Even it went on for almost 1000 years, on and on and on.

00:56:45--> 00:56:49

And they still, what we learned from this is

00:56:50--> 00:57:02

that knowledge, and intellect are a big benefit to us, if they're based on truth, but no benefit if they're based on lies. And what no ally saddam had

00:57:03--> 00:57:05

was knowledge and truth.

00:57:06--> 00:57:24

So when you use that, and you bring your proof, you can use this for your own understanding, and to share it with others exactly what he did. Even those people accused him remember, they said, Oh, Are you some kind of angel? And he said, I didn't claim to be any Angel. I didn't say that.

00:57:25--> 00:57:37

So what do you want from us? He said, I didn't ask you for anything. I don't need anything from you. But I get a gift from Allah. But if you want to believe it's good for you.

00:57:39--> 00:57:56

Well, what happened next, he kept warning them. Now there's 1000 years, and he's warning them and saying Allah punishment is gonna come if you don't do it, because up to now you notice the people kind of gradually got away from the right belief to worshipping these statues gradually.

00:57:57--> 00:58:25

And the Lord tells us that he never punishes any nation until What? After he sends a messenger. And this is their messenger. He was the messenger to these people. And he was telling them guys don't have false worship, worship, blah, blah. And they rejected it. In fact, the court they said, Oh, yeah, if your truck will bring it on, where's where's the punishment? We don't see it.

00:58:27--> 00:58:52

Guess what happened next? He told him, don't ask for this. Don't rush it up. Because when it comes, when it starts, it's too late. And I can't help you then. No benefit then. And this is even true. Even today. You have to remember that when you start seeing the income, it's too late. When somebody is about to die, it's too late them to believe.

00:58:54--> 00:59:03

The time to believe as soon as you get the message in your head accepted. Well, they kept asking him teasing him make fun of him haha.

00:59:04--> 00:59:37

Then Allah inspired him to do what you remember the story because he was telling them, there's going to be this great flood. And they're like, Oh, we got a drought. We don't even have enough water to take care of our plants. Oh, yeah, sometimes we get a little water. But when they did, by the way, they weren't thankful to Allah. And then that goes away. And sometime we get some fruit or crops but that goes away. We keep battling all these problems. And water would be great to have and you're telling us it's going to be a flood. Ah, bring it on. Bring it on.

00:59:39--> 00:59:48

Then No, I said I'm starting to build the ship, the big boat, huge boat. We talked about it. It got really big. And people really laughed. They were like,

00:59:53--> 00:59:59

who would go with this guy? And really those poor people. The losers Hello. I'm not going with them. No

01:00:01--> 01:00:04

Because they thought they were gonna get in the boat and just sit there and nothing's gonna happen.

01:00:06--> 01:00:23

And then an amazing thing. All are inspired. No, I still have to go get what? Animals, two by two by two to bring the animals in. They're gone. Okay. Okay, that's it. He lost that taken animals into the big boat, and there's no water.

01:00:24--> 01:00:33

But some people believe and they went with him and they help, you know, but animals must have been hard. Hmm. Can you imagine what that was like, with all the animals in there

01:00:34--> 01:00:36

must have been pretty strong.

01:00:37--> 01:00:42

But they did it. They got everything in there. And then it started a little bit of rain.

01:00:43--> 01:00:43

A little bit more.

01:00:45--> 01:00:47

He couldn't see see, they said

01:00:49--> 01:00:52

and some more rain. And then he started coming water from underneath. He said, Look,

01:00:53--> 01:01:02

don't worry. Even he called his son. And his son said, Don't worry, I'll just go up the mountain. He said it's gonna go up the mountain. He said, I'll go higher. I'm not going to go with

01:01:03--> 01:01:22

his son and his wife didn't believe they wouldn't go in the ship. But the others did. And they went in and sealed it up. And as you know, the rain came and the water gush. And it came more and more and more on to the ship lifted up and went up

01:01:23--> 01:01:48

and killed the water began to go way up the mountains. And this is amazing. That's a lot of water. This is we're not talking about leaving the bathtub overflow, we're talking serious water. Huge flood. And then what happened, covered the mountains. Once it covered the top the mountains, there was no place for the people was there. So they all drowned. Except for the people in the ship with no.

01:01:49--> 01:02:03

As we know that was a long time, a long time that the water came down in a very long time that they were out in the water in the ocean. Nobody even can tell you exactly how long but it was very long.

01:02:04--> 01:02:35

It was after no LSM released some birds. He released them, they might come back with nothing. But then he released some birds. And they came back with something and he said, Aha. Because you came back with this branch this thing. I know that must be some land somewhere now. Then he released some birds they never came back at all. He said okay that we're getting close, then allow me to shift stop on where mount Judy? We talked about that. Some people think that's where Kurdistan is today, don't they?

01:02:37--> 01:02:43

So what do we learn from the subject? We learn that knowledge based on truth

01:02:44--> 01:02:55

is a good way to have the right beliefs. One of the things that these prophets taught Idris and no lie.

01:02:56--> 01:03:32

They taught people about justice, how to be fair. They taught people about Salah what is Salah, Salah is when you stand in worship belong and you bow down on the ground, you put your head down on the ground and thank Allah for all the things that he's given you. And they taught the people about fasting. Even if you're wealthy, you have money, you have everything. Why should I fast? I don't have food, why should I not eat. But this is when you let your brain overcome your desires. My body said Eat eat. But my brain said no don't. Instead, give your food to somebody else today.

01:03:33--> 01:03:51

And this was teaching people how to share so that instead of meat eating today, I'm gonna find a poor person and say you eat today. And this is what it was talking about. When Allah gives you something you show gratitude to Allah by sharing it with the other people. And this shows what gratitude

01:03:52--> 01:04:09

is like saying big thank you to a law, when you take care of the people. A very good lesson from there. Also, there's something they taught called the cat. The cat means to purify, you purify with Zika. And it means to purify your money, your wealth.

01:04:10--> 01:04:24

And even Idris was telling the people about this. And even know LS Nam was telling people about this. Take some of what you have, every year, take a certain amount and give it to the poor, give it to them.

01:04:25--> 01:04:36

And what will happen, I'll be pleased with you. Because you shared what Allah gave you. And this is a beautiful thing. So fasting

01:04:37--> 01:04:59

Zica charity is another word for charity, and the Salah, the worship of Allah. These are all things that we know from all the way back with the ancient prophets. We find it even in the Scriptures, even today in the Old Testament, when it said they used to fall on their face. Well, I don't think they slipped on him.

01:05:00--> 01:05:21

Banana peel and Bell, I think you can see that it's talking about such that the prostration when you bow down and put your head on the ground, and you thank a law, you thank the law for what he's giving you. And it talks about when the people used to bow down, and they bowed, and how do you do Bow, bow. And they used to pray to Allah and we do that suffocation, or

01:05:23--> 01:05:27

all of these things were being taught by these prophets, to their people.

01:05:28--> 01:05:37

All the way from Adam, and all the way down through these prophets, all the way to the last prophet Muhammad Sallallahu wasallam.

01:05:38--> 01:05:55

And today, even though Muslims we do the same thing, first, we bear witness to the intellectual clear understanding of the truth. There can only be one God, a law, and you have to worship Him. And second in the worship, you do it the way he wants it to be with our Salah.

01:05:56--> 01:06:01

Third, to take what you have and share it with other people with the Zika

01:06:02--> 01:06:15

and don't forget fasting not just in Ramadan we have Ramadan a whole month of fasting Yeah. But Allah tells us even in the Quran, Nia EULA Dena amanu. All you who believe

01:06:17--> 01:07:01

quotevalet comb, it's ordered for you to do the sound of Ramadan, fasting Ramadan, as it was ordered for the people before you. So we know even in the Quran, that the people before were ordered this same thing to do this fasting, and in the fasting. And I think one of you mentioned this, to me the other day, that fasting is more than just staying away from food, and staying away from drink. It's also not fighting or arguing, right? We don't fight and argue that time we're not supposed to anyway, but especially not when we're fasting. So all of these things have always been a part of the message that comes with the prophets. And as we study more of the prophets lives, and their

01:07:01--> 01:07:14

conditions, we'll find more of the things in more details. And understand how it came to them, and how they used it and how they taught it to the other people. Does that make sense?

01:07:15--> 01:07:25

And this is a good place for us to take some time and think about what we've been talking about. So I will say to you the greeting, and listen for it back Salaam Alaikum

01:07:31--> 01:07:32

Bismillah Alhamdulillah.

01:07:33--> 01:07:56

Sometimes we can go straight through the lives of the prophets one by one by one to a point. And other times we're going to go through and mention them not in any particular order, but according to the message that they have. Because the message is always the same. It doesn't change. The biggest message of all remind me what's the main message.

01:08:00--> 01:08:39

And I love the way you guys do that. That sweet is really sweet, you got it. That's the main message, if we don't get anything else from our program, except that inshallah that's sufficient. But there are many, many other things that we're going to be talking about. Now, to continue. After the time of neural lace the noun, you have to realize that a lot of his people were very impressed with this big sign because I guess that flood was probably one of the biggest signs they had ever imagined. Wouldn't you think? That was pretty big, but still after him. There were from his own children. Now remember, this is for him, his own children in his own believers, people with him.

01:08:39--> 01:08:52

there were still some people later on. But we ended disbelieve again, they began to lie, they began to change the message and teach what to worship the creation instead of the Creator.

01:08:53--> 01:09:34

And as they did, their society will do again, the same thing, it starts to break down, because it's full of lies. And human beings begin to make the rules. And when humans make up the rules, who knows what it's going to be? Like, if the boys make all the rules, the girls won't get in anything fair out of that. But if the girls made up all the rules, the boys wouldn't like that, would they? And if the old people make rules, and young people can't say anything that's not very good either. Isn't? How about if the rich make all the rules, and the poor people don't get to say anything. So it matters very much to know that it's only fair if the law the Creator, the one who created us, the

01:09:34--> 01:10:00

one who makes everything, the one who takes care of everything. He's the only one who gets to make the rules. But it's up to us to understand it and follow it. Some of the prophets who came later on afternoon a salon. They also were abused by their people. Has we're going to learn in some of the stories you're going to hear about prophets that were horribly abused. Some of them were punished some of

01:10:00--> 01:10:46

them are whipped and beaten. Some of them they even killed them. They killed their profits. Can you imagine such a thing as that? In fact, they tried to kill Jesus peace be upon him. They tried. And what about Muhammad? sallallahu? Alayhi. Salaam? Did they try to kill him? Oh, yeah, we know real well about that. Did they beat him? Oh, we know they threw stones on him. There's so many beautiful stories we have with the prophets. And you learn a lot from it. But the most important thing is don't consider these just stories. These are not just fables, these are not use tales. But these are real life experiences that real people lived. And they saw it. And we know it. So you and I will

01:10:46--> 01:10:55

take benefit from it. And we see in our life what we need to do with it. When we deal with our parents, we have to be what? obedient

01:10:56--> 01:11:40

good to them. If they get old, during our life, we have to take care of them. And even if they get really, really sick or bad, we can't even say off when we're trying to take care of them. This is in the books before and this is also in the Quran today. We have to take care of parents. What are some of the other things we have to do? Well, it tells us real clear not to commit adultery, it means you have to get married. You get married, you don't have a boyfriend, you don't have a girlfriend. What else? Don't lie. Don't say something and you know it's not true. What else don't steal. Don't take things that don't belong to you. This what our law says. But listen to this one. Don't have envy.

01:11:41--> 01:12:11

Because even at the time of Adam la Salaam, remember about the boy who is envious of his brother. He had envy hasin How come you get the good looking girl and I don't? This is envy. hassad don't love the themes that are going to go away. Don't fall in love with these things that you want it so much that you forget. It's all gonna go away. A beautiful girl becomes an old lady, doesn't she?

01:12:12--> 01:12:14

He's not beautiful anymore. Is he?

01:12:15--> 01:12:20

handsome man. He becomes the old man. Not so handsome anymore.

01:12:22--> 01:12:23

Except for me. I said handsome hungry.

01:12:27--> 01:12:30

A fancy car becomes old, it becomes junk. Nobody wants an old guard.

01:12:34--> 01:12:46

A nice big house becomes old falls down. Have you seen old buildings where you live? Real old old buildings. You said Ooh, look at that. But at the time, they don't appear one by Sir. Oh,

01:12:47--> 01:12:56

I wish I have that. Okay, you can have it today. I don't want it. So don't have that you don't want to have this has it for something. Make sense?

01:12:58--> 01:13:17

All of these things that we've been talking about in the lives of the prophets will benefit us. Only if we get the message. Only if we get the meaning of the story. Otherwise, it gets stories. You know, like SpongeBob? Is this a story? There's nothing.

01:13:19--> 01:13:29

In other things, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck has a new stories about the profits. Stories are something that we can use.

01:13:31--> 01:13:32

And it can benefit

01:13:34--> 01:13:34

should I tell you?

01:13:37--> 01:14:00

Well, it turns out that from New acnm and his people this went on and on for a while things were pretty good. But people began to spread out. They began to go to different places, and out farther and farther. We also know that a Drees at least amount he had also gone out, he'd taken off and went to a place called mess.

01:14:01--> 01:14:15

This is called Egypt for Egypt. Now there's a very interesting story about something here to mazing story actually, you see one of the descendants from Noah la sallam.

01:14:17--> 01:14:41

His name was Abraham, or Abraham. Now we've got a lot to talk about with him. But to start with, we already know that his father was the statue maker. He built the statues. You remember the story? What happened when Abraham didn't like the statues? And he broke them off? And the people want to know hey, how come you know was this? Did you do that? He said Why are you asking me? The big statues got the hammer. Remember he left the hammer there.

01:14:43--> 01:14:59

And what did they say? This is what I want you to know what they said because this is what's important about the story not about breaking the statues, not about the hammer. What's important is what the people said when he goes to ask the big statue. He's got the hammer. They said he can't hear

01:15:00--> 01:15:44

And he can't speak and can't answer us. And then what did he say? Why do you pray to him? You just said he can't hear. You just said he can't answer you. So why are you praying to Him? Get it? Well, you remember what happened next. He had the argument with him, rode and rode, throw him into fire alarm made the fire cool. But then he still had to leave, didn't he? And he went into Egypt. We talked about that. But what happened next, after he followed around in Egypt, different places that he went, he met some of the descendants of some of the other children of Adam. Because remember, there's no human being except all of them originally came from all Adam and Eve.

01:15:46--> 01:16:11

So now, when they met, they came there. And the king gave them what some sheep and a girl Anheuser. Remember what happened to her? What happened next? And they went out into the desert. He took hyzer and her child which was his male, into the desert, let them then allow me water come What was the name of the water? Do you remember?

01:16:12--> 01:16:37

Where you guys are paying attention? It's good. What did she do before the water came? Anybody remember? What did she do? She was looking for? Yes, ma'am. She does some stuff up to seven times. She ran back and forth between stuff. And Marla seven times. Very good. What was she looking for? somebody coming? What did she want? She was looking for? You looking for water? Yeah. She was hoping to see something though. What was she looking for?

01:16:39--> 01:16:49

People, she was hoping there would be a caravan or something like that, looking looking for people. Now after the water came, and they had water, and two people came, didn't they.

01:16:51--> 01:16:56

And she told them, they asked her you know, for permission to come. And she said you can come but you can't take over.

01:16:57--> 01:17:00

And they respected that they did.

01:17:01--> 01:17:43

And we talked about what happened later, after it's my job became older, he became bigger, he got married. One of the things we have to remember when you get married, it's very important that you have to be good to your wife and honor her. And you have to be good to your husband and honor him. But the obedience is to a law. The real obedience is to a law and to his messenger. And so your parents, so if your parents tell you something, you really need to listen to them. This is very important. This relationship with our parents, we've been talking about so many prophets, that most people know about. Now, let's talk about a prophet that a lot of people don't know about. Or if

01:17:43--> 01:17:46

they've heard his name, they're not real sure about his real story.

01:17:47--> 01:17:50

His name is Luke. Can you say Luke?

01:17:51--> 01:17:58

Now the way they spelled it in English with only one Oh, they thought it was a lot a lot. They call him prophet blocked.

01:18:00--> 01:18:09

Well, he was very close to Ebrahim at a salon he lived about the same time. Now remember, this is long after the flood.

01:18:10--> 01:18:25

And what happened here is strange, really strange. Because Luke lived in a strange place called Sodom and Gomorrah. And the people there were very strange to very strange.

01:18:26--> 01:18:38

It was really bad. Now loot, he had some daughters. And they were pretty. But the men there didn't want to marry his daughters. In fact, the men wanted to be with other men

01:18:39--> 01:18:51

is very strange. It's not normal. Not something a lot. Like, it's really bad. This is mentioned in the scripture from before, and it's mentioned in the same way.

01:18:53--> 01:18:56

Let's talk about how loot had to do with the subject

01:18:58--> 01:19:09

to travelers came to loot house, knock, knock knock on the door. He let them in. And he thought they were like just two men. They were very handsome. And he was very happy to have visitors.

01:19:11--> 01:19:13

But then he found they are what there were angels.

01:19:14--> 01:19:27

Yeah, they were real angels. But he didn't realize right away. So when they came, then some people banged on his door. And these men were saying hey, we saw some handsome men go in your house. We want those guys send them out.

01:19:29--> 01:19:59

He said I can't they're my guess I'm protecting them. They said come on open the door. We want those guys. Come on, send them out. said no, I'm not gonna do that. That's bad. And you guys are bad. And Luke had been telling them the same thing that all the prophets still the people. There's only one God worship Him. He stay away from things which are evil and stay away from this real horrible thing which you guys are doing. This is bad. Don't do this thing. Not nice. But they didn't like that.

01:20:00--> 01:20:29

Why. And Allah explains it to us real clear, because inserted inside of those people, their desires had become so strong, that they became almost like crazy. Because when a person wants too much and too many things, and he keeps going like this, then his brain stops working right? He starts becoming Majnoon crazy. And it happened. It happened to these guys. They were weird.

01:20:30--> 01:20:45

But look at esalaam he peace be upon he kept protecting, protecting them, not going to open the door, you can beat on it all you want to and they were trying to break the door down and it was getting really serious. Dangerous told him, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. It's going to be okay.

01:20:46--> 01:21:26

But what you need to do, you need to take your wife and your family and you need to get out. Because the last punishment is going to come on these people. Now look, he's a prophet, and he's trying to tell these people and he did the same as we've learned before, he tried to warn the people about the punishment of alarm. This is called anger, rather, his anger and azab which means punishment of loss upon without any stealing, telling them has fear of this, you better be afraid of a loss rather his anger and you better fear his at the Azov of a law the punishment of a law. And by the way, do you know how to say that in Arabic,

01:21:27--> 01:22:10

taqwa taqwa, just what is to have something between you and Allah, his anger and his punishment, you put up something between you and the punishment of Allah. How can you do that? is to have Taqwa for Allah, and do what a lot likes, and stay away from what he doesn't like. And he was trying to tell us people a simple thing, just stop doing this thing you're doing. And then we're going no, you don't tell us what to do. They were bad. They did other things, too. They did lots of other horrible things. But the most and worst thing of all, they didn't worship the law. They didn't believe in the law. And they didn't do what Allah wants them to do. They were very passive. This obedient to Allah.

01:22:10--> 01:22:30

Guess what happened? The punishment of Allah came. It came big time. Loot, la tsunami listen to the angels. They told him that to get out of town. Okay. So what he did, he took his family, and he was leaving. Let's get out of here. Let's go. Because the punishment is coming.

01:22:31--> 01:22:36

Big time. But his wife wouldn't go. Sarah stay here.

01:22:37--> 01:22:45

Because she was from these losers. She was from these bad people. She stayed, didn't go. Children, our

01:22:46--> 01:23:12

children are Muslim. Well, if you don't follow the profit that comes to you, then you can't be considered as a true believer. or Muslim. So that's what happened. He had to live because you can't force anybody. Can you force somebody to be a Muslim? No. Can you force people to believe? No, you can't. There's no way. So they left. He took his family they would go under law.

01:23:13--> 01:23:34

And after they went to a certain distance for a certain period of time, then the law made something happened. Now remember the flood that came with North? That's pretty bad, right? Look what a lot did this time. He made it rain again. Only this time it didn't rain water. What do you think rain down on these people? alarm made it rain Fire.

01:23:35--> 01:23:41

Fire came down on them. Horrible fire? Yeah, it had stones in the fire. I guess you know

01:23:44--> 01:23:45

what happened to her?

01:23:47--> 01:23:49

Same thing she burned up with them.

01:23:50--> 01:23:51

It was horrible.

01:23:52--> 01:24:03

so horrible. But this is what happens when people don't obey their prophet. This is what happens when they ignore the clear proofs. They ignore the warnings that come to them.

01:24:04--> 01:24:50

They have to pay the price that will suffer in this life and they will suffer in the next slide. We say the fire came from a law but obviously he made it come out of the sky. Some people said it was a volcano. Some people said that it was an eruption from the ground. It just went up in the air like a gas fire or something like that. But does it really matter does it they burned up all of them. And then what happened? Allah made all of it to go underwater, under under under. Some people say it's still there today at the bottom of a sea called the Dead Sea. What's strange about this sea is nothing grows there. Nothing at all lives there. Why? Because it has so much salt in it.

01:24:51--> 01:24:59

Maybe, or maybe because the law just doesn't want anything to be alive there anymore. But that's what they say at the bottom of this season.

01:25:00--> 01:25:41

The place of Sodom and Gomorrah, and it's a tourist attraction even today, if you go there, you will find people who will take me say yes, there it is. And, you know, this is probably this. And that might be where this happened and that happened doesn't really matter. But what's the truth is, whenever Allah sends a messenger to you with a warning, then you have to do what you have to obey. Obey your messenger, and stay away from this dangerous thing. Now it's a little bit about the Prophet lute. Also, there's more about the Prophet lute, that he was joined at one point back with Ibrahim alayhis, salam, and they had many sheep and Tyrell and they went different directions, and

01:25:42--> 01:26:20

many good things like this. But the main point of the story of loot, I think, is the mentioned about this subject. And talk about it a little bit. Well, when people have desire to be close to another person, like the marriage, when you get married, you want to be close to your husband, and you want to be close to your wife in a good way and have children together. That's normal, Allah puts that in your head. But when people have this big desire, that's really strange. It just burns inside of them. It starts going cuckoo, starts clicking wrong loading the head and in the heart, and they start desiring strange things that are not what Allah wants for you.

01:26:21--> 01:27:01

Now, let's ask the question, What if a person has this because many people today have this? In fact, in my country, they're saying that oh, this is normal. It's okay. No problem kind of scares me because I keep thinking, hey, what am I doing here? And they're sounding like the people who they call them cold, more loot the nation of loot. But anyhow, what do we do? And I've had some of them come to me and say, What do I do? I have this inside of me. And it's a boys that I rather be with a boy, I don't want to get married to a girl. I want to get married to a boy. I said, Oh, that he said, but I don't know why that's a mechanic be fixed. What do you think I told him? I told him,

01:27:01--> 01:27:26

yes, it can be fixed. If you believe in a law, if you ask a law. And if you make elbow to a law, and you didn't do it anymore. You know what he did, he sent me emails. And I wrote a big article for it. And I put it on my website. And he read this article, and he read the article to his boyfriend. That sounds strange than avoiding a boyfriend. Guess what happened.

01:27:28--> 01:28:03

Both of them, they understood the message. Both of them, they made talbo to a law, both of them became Muslims. Both of them stopped this way. One of them got married to a lady, the other one, he moved to the opposite side of the United States. So he wouldn't see those people anymore. And this is amazing that he did that when he sent me the last email, he said, I'll never write to you again. Because I changed my life, I changed my name, I changed everything. And I don't want to remember anything there. But I want to say big thank you to you. And thank you to a law, because this is how I got guided the right way. I cried. When I read the letter, I became very, very happy. Because I

01:28:03--> 01:28:26

see that a love can work in many strange ways, on anybody. So no matter how bad a person is, they need to remember, if you just go to a law and ask him, ask him to guide you ask Him to forgive you, he can do that. That's a law. When the Luddites, you in a lab brings you to the right way, then inshallah you're in good shape, and a lot forgives everything.

01:28:27--> 01:29:01

It's one thing by the way to be punished in this life. And it's quite another matter, the punishment that comes in the next life to the disbelievers. And it's even worse than anything here. And one of the things we know about this, is that whoever is believing in Allah, and doing what Allah wants them to do, allow will make it easy for them here. And definitely, it will be better for him in the next slide. And this is a good place for us to take some time and think about what we've been talking about. So I will say to you the greeting, and listen for it back, Salaam Alaikum.

01:29:09--> 01:29:23

In the stories of all of the prophets, we keep coming back and seeing the same thing. There are those people who wake up to the truth, and they want to obey along. And then there are those people who don't want to obey along

01:29:24--> 01:29:38

in another story, and I really like these stories because they helped me ever since I was a small boy. I've heard the stories, but sometimes I got confused in the story. I didn't understand it. When I came in Islam and I found all the stories of the prophets,

01:29:39--> 01:29:59

the cassettes, Colombia, then I understood because the message is still there. It's not changed, altered, or corrupted. Would you like me to tell you one? Well, this is a story about people who also disobeyed the law. And they had a prophet they had a messenger and they were close to the place where Abraham Allison

01:30:00--> 01:30:44

started from this is Iraq. And there was a place called Ur of the Chaldees. And that's the mountain range that's there even today. And the city that they were in was called Nana wha Can you say nanoha? Manila? Yeah, that's Arabic. But also it's called Minerva, Nineveh? Yeah, we say Nepal because you have the VI in your language but Arabic doesn't have to be. Doesn't really matter. The name of the city does it? What matters is what happened there. Now they didn't get a flood, and they didn't get rain of fire. In fact, what happened to them was really strange. Their Prophet was named what Yunus? Can you say Eunice?

01:30:45--> 01:30:54

In English, they call him Jonah. I don't know how they got Jonah Yunus. But that's his name. Eunice. La salaam, peace be upon him.

01:30:56--> 01:31:10

Alone inspired him as he inspired the other prophets. And he went to them. And he explained to them and he talked to them if you remember the story of Noah a tsunami give good examples. And he told them and only a few people believe no, at least to them.

01:31:11--> 01:31:35

But how many people listen to Eunice zero. nobody listened to him. And he kept talking and talking and just like no la Sonam. And then he told him about the warning just like loot and a Salaam that allows punishment is going to come on this city, this village is going to be destroyed alone is gonna send punishment. And they were saying, okay, who cares?

01:31:37--> 01:31:55

Same as before, every time that people do the same thing, but then what happened? This time the Prophet is supposed to stay and give the message. But he ran away. He said, I'm not listening. I'm not gonna stay around and be part of this. They won't come to the right belief. So

01:31:56--> 01:31:58

got a boat. There was a boat leaving he said,

01:31:59--> 01:32:32

I want to go on here. Give me a ticket. On the boat away, they went out into the sea. And when they were out in the sea alone made a big storm come a big storm. It was so bad that the ocean was throwing water over the top of the boat and the boat was going way down. And the ocean looked like mountains and then they'd be up here and then they'd be down there. And the people were so scared and the boat was rocking back and forth like this. So they extended people were scared. We're gonna drown. We're gonna die. Somebody on this boat must be really bad for this dam. But we never saw such a storm. Is this ever.

01:32:33--> 01:33:12

Then they were deciding who to throw overboard. You're the guy. No, not me. No, you You're evil. No, you're bad. You're bad luck. No, they went through this thing. And finally unicyclist and I'm sick. It's me. I'm the one. You're the only good guy on the whole boat. We're not gonna throw you over. He said no, it's really me. They said no, no, no. Let's cast lots and see who goes. It's kind of like, you know what? When you have some straws, and you put them in your hand one is shorter than the rest. And they would put it out. Okay, you take one you take one you take one and who got the shortest one. Yunus? They said, No, no, no, let's do it again. They get some more and they put them

01:33:12--> 01:33:22

in is okay. You take one you take one who got the short one, Eunice. Well, we don't like to throw this guy over. But it's what it looks like.

01:33:23--> 01:33:45

Now, by the way, they didn't say they believed in the law. They believed in good luck. Anyway, they threw him over boom, Flash. As soon as he went overboard. A law made the storm stop. And it settled down and they went Oh, and sailed off. And the meantime, what happened to Eunice a big whale. Now you know what a whale is, is a whale of fish.

01:33:46--> 01:34:06

What's not? whales are not fish. whales are animals. whales breathe air. And they give birth to a live baby. Whereas fish, they breathe through the water. And they lay eggs. So whales are not fish

01:34:07--> 01:34:23

was an animal. And by the way, that whole on top of their head. They breathe through that. They get air in there. And when they come up, that's why they go and they blow everything out like that. You seem to do that. That's when they're catching their breath. Kind of like you hold water and you've ever done that be underwater. Hold your breath. Hold your breath and you come out you go.

01:34:25--> 01:34:59

That's what the whales doing. Anyway, the whale swallowed portal Jonah. And now here he is peace be upon inside of this whale. Now do you imagine he was in bad shape? Oh, yeah. Oh yeah. Even if a person is in prison in a prison, which is bad. At least there's some room to move around. He didn't have any room and they're dirty. Even in a prison. There'll be a little bit of light within there. There was no light at all where he was in a prison. You could eat something. What is Jonah going to eat inside a whale? Maybe some dead fish. I don't know.

01:35:00--> 01:35:51

But it was pretty bad all the way around. And it wasn't Yes, for a couple of minutes either. It was for a long time. Some people said days and nights and days and nights that he was there in that way. And by the way, in a prison, at least, you can breathe and live, but instead of whale whales digesting you, and that was the condition that he was in, being digested even by this whale, for all this time, all this time, then Allah inspired him. And this is the part that I didn't know. Until I read it in the Koran. It's the most beautiful story. It's in chapter 20 Surah Taha, if you want to look it up, I think you'll find it's a beautiful thing. Because this unit what he said, La Ilaha, il

01:35:52--> 01:35:55

panaca in a quantum and it dawned on me.

01:35:56--> 01:36:02

What does that mean? He realized, this worry was he didn't blame a law.

01:36:03--> 01:36:06

He knew better than to blame a law, didn't he? He said,

01:36:07--> 01:36:14

Only you are the one worthy to be worship. Just you Allah. Allah worship is for you.

01:36:15--> 01:36:18

The glory is for you.

01:36:20--> 01:36:29

And for sure, I'm the one that did the wrong thing to myself. Can you say that? La Ilaha

01:36:30--> 01:36:33

Illa Japonica?

01:36:37--> 01:36:38

What's the rest of it?

01:36:40--> 01:36:41

Very good.

01:36:42--> 01:36:45

I mean, you guys are pretty sharp on this stuff.

01:36:46--> 01:36:58

You know what? When you go to Islamic school, you learn a lot, don't you? It's good, isn't it? So what happened next? As soon as he said that a lot made that whale go. And it went and

01:36:59--> 01:37:06

spit him out. were right on the dry land. He was back. I imagine he was a bit dirty, too. What do you think?

01:37:08--> 01:37:54

It was bad. And he's like, wow, wow. And he went into the whale alive. And he came out alive. That's pretty amazing, isn't it? When he got back to his village, he went to the people guess what he found? were the people destroyed by the flood? Nope. destroyed by a fire? Nope. They weren't destroyed at all. You know why? Because every one of them accepted the belief. And they became believers. While he was gone, they did. Because when he left, they went, hey, what's that crazy guy's been running around here telling us all about the end and everything. Then somebody said, You know what? He's gone. He ran out. You know what, maybe it is gonna happen. That's probably why you

01:37:55--> 01:38:22

guys, wait, let's wake up. You know, maybe this is what happened. And anyway, they decided we better believe we better believe in the law, to better believe in that messenger. And we better do what Allah wants us to do. They became believers. When he came back, he was like hope. They're all believers. This teaches us a huge, huge lesson about conveying the message telling other people about the message. It means if you warn the people,

01:38:23--> 01:38:42

or if you don't warn the people, it's all the same to the people. Because they'll believe or they won't believe, according to a law, your job is only to tell the truth. Tell the people but if they don't accept it, so many messengers before didn't get accepted either.

01:38:43--> 01:39:14

But if they believe that's not from you, either, that's from Allah. It is a law and only Allah who guides to the truth. And whoever Allah guides, nobody will miss guide them. But whoever Allah lets go astray to be lost, and nobody can guide them to the truth. Did you know that? Yeah. So I want to think about that for a minute and realize that this message that comes from the story of Eunice, Allison and Jonah, peace be upon him.

01:39:15--> 01:39:43

This is a story that carries a double message first, don't just obey a law because you could suffer in this life and in the next life. Second, don't think you can guide the people because you can't even if you're a prophet, and Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, was told the same exact thing in the Quran. Allah told Mohammed Salah Salaam, you don't guide the people.

01:39:44--> 01:39:59

You'll find it in chapter four. You do not guide who you love. But it's Allah who guides whoever he wants to. But you can sure tell them and you can pray for them and say, Oh Allah guide the people.

01:40:00--> 01:40:45

Guide us, guide all of us. And we say it every day in our prayer. By the way, did you know what we say in the prayer every day? We say, Edina Serato. Mr. King, what does that mean? Allah Guide us to the straight path. And that's my dog for all of us right now. I mean, I'm not sure you'll find it in chapter four. You do not guide who you love. But it's a law, who guides whoever he wants to. But you can sure tell them and you can pray for them and say, oh, Allah, guide the people, guide us guide all of us. And we say it every day in our prayer. By the way, did you know what we say in the prayer every day? We say Edina Serato. Mr. King, what does that mean? Allah Guide us to the straight path.

01:40:45--> 01:41:02

And that's my dog for all of us right now. I mean, I'm not sure how long shall we now? Take some questions? Maybe you have a question or something you'd like to talk about? Because we've covered a lot of ground today. I want to start with the girls. I like girls by the way. bowhead?

01:41:06--> 01:41:24

whale. Yeah, yeah. By the way, whale is called what in Herbie hood? I thought was the first time I heard it. They said Who? I said Who? Like you hit the horn? They said, No, no, no. Good. Okay, good. How many days? Was he in the mood? Good question.

01:41:25--> 01:41:41

According to some scriptures, says, three days and three nights. But these are old scriptures can't verify according film, we know from Islam even longer, some people said 40 days and 40 nights. But I think what's important is not how long.

01:41:42--> 01:41:51

But I think what's important is the conclusion that came to us after he was in there when he said, Lyla, elantas upon

01:41:52--> 01:42:34

me, I think that's the most important point. It was for me, because I didn't really care how many days I don't want to be in a whale for even three minutes, you know, or 40 seconds. I just want to get out of that deal. The best way obey Allah. Good question, though. I'm glad you brought it up. Who else has a question? Okay, let's take one from a boy in the story of UPV upon him, while the flood worldwide. According to old scriptures, they said it covered the whole earth and everything drowned. But according to some they said no, it was only local in a certain area. So this is a good question. I don't think it really matters. What matters is that the people didn't obey and they got

01:42:34--> 01:43:13

drowned. Everything they knew was underwater. Because you could say, well, maybe all of Europe went underwater, you might say all of Arabia went underwater, maybe the whole continent went underwater. But what about the other side of the earth? What about where the Americas are? And there are stories, by the way, just in case you didn't know this. There are stories all around the world about an ancient flood that came at one time. Even in South America, they have stories of a big flood that happened centuries and centuries ago. They have stories in Arabia of a big flood that came a long time ago. Again, like I said, the most important thing to realize is that all the world that they

01:43:13--> 01:43:30

knew was underwater. And the reason that we need to know the story is not about how much water there was. But what happens when you disobey and disbelieve in the law. But it's a good question. Thank you. Who else has a question like this? Ladies, I think you have a question, huh?

01:43:32--> 01:43:33

You have a question?

01:43:38--> 01:44:13

Why did they throw units in the water? They were superstitious. They had believed in omens. They didn't. It wasn't because they believe in Allah. But they had superstitions about things if certain things happen, they used to believe different things about it. For instance, if they saw a group of birds, and they want to know, should I go this way? Should I go that way? Maybe Should I buy a cow today or sell a couch? I want to know different things. They see a group of birds flying and they say, Okay, do the birds go to the right, then I'll do this. But if they go to the left, I'll do that is superstition. Birds fly where they're gonna fly. And so they have these superstitions and they

01:44:13--> 01:44:56

believe that somebody on the boat was evil, or bad luck, more like bad luck than anything. And that's why they want to start throwing people overboard. Another thing that people used to do a long time ago, when anything bad happened, they used to throw innocent people into the volcano to burn up. They particularly like to take a young girl and said let's take her as a sacrifice to the God of the volcano or the God of the sun or something and Thor in there. Okay, and now we'll have good crops next year, even at the time of Omar rhodiola. Juana when the Muslims had gone into Egypt, the river Nile not her meal dried up almost like there was an almost no water and it was supposed to be

01:44:56--> 01:45:00

the time of the year of the water. It didn't come and they were still

01:45:00--> 01:45:27

Oh man, this is a big problem. Now we got these Muslims Here and Now see, we don't have any water. So you know, we got to go back to our old way. And their old way, even though they were Christians, by the way, their old way was every year, let's throw a girl into the Nile River, throw some girls in the Nile River, let them drown, and when they're dead, okay, then we're going to get the water to run again. They were sacrificing to the God of the river.

01:45:28--> 01:45:42

Yeah, but the Muslims forbid them and kill them. No, you can't do that. They wouldn't let them do that. Um, or even the last of them? No way, Ray, I'm not gonna let you throw any women in this river.

01:45:43--> 01:45:44

But the people kept complaining, this

01:45:45--> 01:46:21

is a proof we need to throw some girls in there. I'm reading the last send a message to Omar ready lohana. He said, Oh, river. Hmm. If you are under the control of Allah, then come on, and run on. But if you're under some kind of like magic or you have your own control, then stay where you are. We don't need you. And of course, what happened allow made the water run and run and it still runs until today. The message that we get from this is that there's a lot of superstition out there. People do things thinking it will help them but it really won't. What's your question? When

01:46:22--> 01:46:46

when the time when the Nile dried up, so when they drowned, one go in the water and after what the what the man filled up. So they will they will again thing that because we throw the girl the water came again didn't follow. So what they did afterwards? Actually what you said right, there is a very important statement.

01:46:47--> 01:47:25

Very important. You see, it's only a law that controls but he tests people doesn't he? So he knows what's inside of people's hearts. He knows that they want to disbelieve in him. So it makes that easy for you to believe if you want to believe. But he makes it easy for the disbelievers to disbelieve if they want to unlock and make things happen. And so some people might say, Well, you know, if I get out of the bed on the left side every day, I'll make money. But if I get on the right side of the bed, I'm gonna lose money. So what Allah is going to do any day he gets out on the left side, Allah will give him money, he'll say, Oh, wow. And on the day, he gets out on the right side,

01:47:25--> 01:48:03

you'll lose money. And then what will happen? He'll say, oh, man, this bed is important to me. Hmm. And how I get out of this bed is everything. But it has nothing to do with it. It all comes from alarm. No matter how many times he gets on the left side or the right side, whatever he gets is not from the beds from a law yes or no. Yes. Sometimes when you're walking on the sidewalk, you see these cracks the cracks on the sidewalk. And somebody tell you, oh, if you step on this crack, it's bad luck for you. So you have to step over the crack. I remember when I was a child, they used to say, step on a crack. Break your mother's back in something horrible like this, you know?

01:48:04--> 01:48:43

But it's stupid. So one day I decided, well, I'm gonna step on the crack and see what happens. I went home. And my mother came home from teaching. She was a schoolteacher. When she came home. She said, you know, my back's been bothering me all day. I said, Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What did I do to my poor mother? Oh, and I told her what I did. I'm sorry, mother. I stepped down at Greg. And she was, by the way, she said even though she wasn't Muslim, she understood from Christian. That doesn't mean anything. She said that superstition. She said, I've had back problem for a long time. Did you step on a crack yesterday? I said no. She said I had a pain yesterday. And you didn't step on it. So

01:48:43--> 01:49:17

don't worry about it. I said, Oh, okay. Some people believe in things like that. They look at the stars. And they say, okay, when that star moves over there, it's going to be like so and so. And when the moon is over here, such and such and this and this, and they act like they know everything, you know, they even write books about it, and they tell people Oh, come to me and I will tell you how to have good fortune and good luck, I will tell you how to have many children or to have a good position. Just come to me and I'm going to tell you do this and do that you're born on such a day. You're born in such a time in such a place and this and this and that and they complicate things

01:49:17--> 01:49:22

very much. But what is it? Zippo nothing is nothing.

01:49:23--> 01:49:41

Some people believe in colors. I heard about a religion of colors that people believe that red This is the color of war if you work you're going to have all kinds of things happen all day. It's going to be like really crazy stuff gonna be you know, people fighting and everything. You're wearing red. Oh my god, I got a fight with you.

01:49:42--> 01:49:50

What is it? Or if you wear blue? It's like a cool. It's gonna be like laid back. Okay, he's wearing blue. Okay, cool, dude.

01:49:52--> 01:50:00

If you were black, it's like real serious intellectual. They had all kinds of crazy stuff. I don't know if that's exactly what they had. But then I

01:50:00--> 01:50:40

Somebody's telling me about numbers. They said this number means this one is the prime number two is doubled up three. That's a perfect Trinity blah, blah, blah. Somebody said four is a magic number, because it means the fam blah, blah, blah. And I said, why is this up? You're telling me, I used to have a book, I had this book, and it had all these weird things. And I used to read that book and say, Hmm, maybe this maybe that, you know, but all of it is nothing in front of a lot. This is bad. It becomes what it says what a lot does is to stay away from called shirk, avoid that at all costs. Now, that was a good question you brought up. But by the way, I will tell you one more thing. One

01:50:40--> 01:51:03

time there was a famous debate between a Muslim and a Christian. At the end of the debate, the Christian said, Oh, you know, there was somebody, and he wanted to be a Muslim, but he had cancer and he said, Oh, Mohammed, cure my cancer, cure my cancer, and it didn't get cured. Many said, Oh, Jesus, cure my cancer, cure my cancer, and it got cured. So I said, I guess Jesus belief is better.

01:51:05--> 01:51:49

The Muslim should have said, Excuse me, we don't ask Mohammed, anything. We asked a law. And if the person had asked that law, then it would be up to a lot to cure him or not curing, but at least he would be in the right belief. But whoever asked a human being, whether it's Muhammad, peace be upon him, or Jesus, peace be upon him, doesn't matter. You can ask them, you can only ask for law. It's one thing by the way to be punished in this life. And it's quite another matter, the punishment that comes in the next life to the disbelievers. And it's even worse than anything here. And one of the things we know about this is that whoever is believing in the law, and doing what Allah wants them

01:51:49--> 01:52:05

to do, Allah will make it easy for them here. And definitely, it will be better for him in the next slide. And this is a good place for us to take some time and think about what we've been talking about. So I will say to you the greeting, and listen for it back Salaam Alaikum.
