Episode Notes

This talk sees Shaykh Yasir Qadhi touching base on the topic – wudhu. He discusses how Iman is also that which is manifested in the limbs. One of the branches of Iman that is mentioned in details throughout the Quran and Sunnah, which is Wudhu (ablution). The Prophet ﷺ said: “Doing wudhu is half of Iman”.

Shaykh tells us that the Prophet ﷺ  mentions that nobody will maintain or protect their wudhu except a true believer. It means that a Mu’min (true believer), which is a higher level that just a Muslim, will always want to be in a state of wudhu. Whenever he or she breaks their wudhu, they immediately want to perform wudhu again to always be in the state of spiritual purity. That is why the Prophet ﷺ  encouraged us to protect our wudhu so that we are that we may obtain this higher level of faith.

In conclusion, Shaykh Yasir Qadhi has highlighted the benefits of wudhu and makes us realise that we must thank Allah that so many blessings are linked to such a simple ritual- wudhu, that takes barely two minutes every time we do it.

salatu salam, ala rasulillah Allah Allah He will be here woman while

00:00:32--> 00:01:10

we're still on our journey of talking about the various pillars of human Eman is based on 70 odd branches. And today's branch is going to cover our first action based branch. Hitherto we've been talking about branches that are in the heart and we're going to come back to some of those as well. But Iran is also that which is manifested in the limbs. And today we're going to talk about one of the pillars of EMA and one of the branches of human that is mentioned in the Quran and the Sunnah in a lot of detail. And this branch, believe it or not, might might shock some of you or surprise some of you, because many of us don't consider this as a branch of Iman. And yet it is by explicit text

00:01:10--> 00:01:55

of the Hadith, a branch of Eman and that is the branch that we know as we'll do, we'll do our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said after hooroo chateauroux li man doing will do is half of Eman. Now this hadith is commonly Miss translated as purity is half of a man. And it is not an accurate translation because the word the hood here does not mean only purity. It's a specific type of purity. And the purity that the Hadith is talking about is the purity of Wu. And this is demonstrated because the word the hood is using other Hadith to indicate will do so this heading should be translated as performing ablutions is half of a man who shot through a man. Our scholars

00:01:55--> 00:02:40

commented on this, that how come we'll do which seems to be so trivial has been made half of a man and the response is very simple. Who does will do when do we do will do what is the purpose of we'll do that we'll go is the key that unlocks the Salah. Correct. The only people who do will do regularly are the ones who pray. Now, the people who pray are the ones who establish all of the other autoconf of Islam. There are plenty of people who don't pray, and they'll fast Ramadan. There are plenty of people who don't pray, they will go for Hajj, they don't pray, they might give some money to the poor. But it is inconceivable that a person prays five times a day and he doesn't

00:02:40--> 00:03:26

foster mobile without an excuse. The one who prays automatically fulfills all of the other can and that is the real experience that all of us have the one who's a regular masala namazi the one who's always praying that's the one who's fasting Ramadan going for Hajj giving Zakat, and therefore, the indication of all of this is the will do because the one who regularly performs the will do will be the one who is doing all of the work and so it is correct to say as to who chateauroux a man doing will do is half of all he man and our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said in another head Ethan muslimah Mohammed is stuck a move keep in the path and try your best to get to the end. One two, so

00:03:26--> 00:04:10

you're never going to be perfect and know that have the best of your deeds is the salah and no one protects the will do except for the men. Once again we'll do and minima are linked together. No one protects the will do except the moment What is it mean protect the will do it means that the person wishes to be in the state of will do as much as possible. Most of us were struggling to pray five times a day The only time we do we'll do when we stand up to pray and that's fine and hamdulillah that's Islam. But we said Islam Eman yes and the more we want to be in the state of will do the more this is an indication that we want to be close to Allah in a purified state. And that's why when you

00:04:10--> 00:04:50

have the other will do it in men only the moment will make a fault or protect the widow only the moment every time the moment breaks the will do they're going to feel you know what I'm not in a good state I want to go do will do even if it's not the time of sada they're just going to do will do to feel pure. The famous Hadith we've all heard of it. Our Prophet slowly sent him in a dream he goes up some say it happened in his story Mirage as well. And some say it's a dream. Both are valid opinions. And he heard the footsteps of Bilal, when he came back down or when he woke up he said Oh, Bella, I heard the footsteps your footsteps ahead of me in Jenna. I heard your footsteps ahead of

00:04:50--> 00:04:59

me. What is the one deed that you think that because of it, Allah Subhana Allah has given you that honor. So below the alarm and said Jada Sorolla, I can't

00:05:00--> 00:05:38

have anything except that every time I break my will do, I go do will do again and I pray tulika nutfield just to please Allah subhanho wa Taala just it's not something that has to be done by the understand. It's not why job is not fun, but Bilaal he always wanted to be in the state of Waldo. And every time he would use the restroom, every time he would break his window, he would feel I'm not in a good state. I want to go double once he did well, though, he just pre told that kind of thing. And he said, that's the only thing I can think of you're rasulillah so this is why belaz footsteps were hurt by our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in under had eaten Timothy, our

00:05:38--> 00:06:19

Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he performed a complete and full will do and we all know and if you don't know you should look up online and also even a class on will do, he performed a full ablution three times all the limbs and making sure everything was touched. And then he said, Whoever performs will do like this will do of mine. month old Bar Mitzvah will go ahead, which is the perfect will do, whoever does will do like this will do of mine. Then he stands up and prays to America, without any whisperings coming in other words, concentration of those to the car, then all of his previous sins will be forgiven. So this is a beautiful technique, a beautiful gift that our

00:06:19--> 00:06:58

Prophet system has given us. You want your sins forgiven, all you have to do, do will do a perfect will do and pray to God in which you concentrate, don't think of anything else. And then ask Allah for forgiveness. And our Prophet Sall Allahu alayhi wa sallam also said, should I not tell you of those deeds that cause your sins to be forgiven? And your ranks to be raised in gender? They said yes, he said number one is spell who will do Ll Makati doing will do in difficult circumstances will explain what this means. Number two got throttle hotel aided massage in lots of footsteps to the masjid which means you're always going to the mosque you're always a regular at the mosque number

00:06:58--> 00:07:38

three in divaldo salewa teabaggers Salawat waiting for the Salah. In other words, you just wait for the Imam and you're the only reason you're in the masjid. You're just waiting for Asia. Otherwise you'd be at home you're waiting waiting until the Imam comes and then you pray and then you leave so you're waiting in the masjid for the Salah. He said Valley Kumar rebels daddy Kumar Reba daddy Kumar about that is jihad in the way of Allah these three things number one perfecting will do at times of difficulty. Our scholars say the classic example of this is having to do will do at fudger time when the water is cold. It's a very difficult time of us we are all luxurious, we turn on the hot water,

00:07:38--> 00:08:14

we wait for three minutes, five minutes until the water is hot. We don't even have that and we're still you know a little bit you know, finicky and a little bit awkward because once we put the water it's still cold in the atmosphere. But imagine once upon a time, the Sahaba would have to crack the ice on top of the bucket and they'd have to put their hand inside of that bucket while the wind is blowing while the cold wind is blowing in that point in time. It's mom will will do is bow who will do making sure every part of the body is touching that water and I have experienced this a few times in my life the cold of Medina between MK and Medina multiple times have had to do will do with

00:08:14--> 00:08:55

nothing but a jug of water. And it is not something that you look forward to doing it's actually a very, very difficult thing. And this is what the process is saying that your love of Allah is so much at that point in time. You're more eager to perfect the world. Oh, it's about what we'll do. Alan Macari these things are equated to striving in the way of Allah subhanho wa Taala and another beautiful Hadith our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once visited, but there is a very emotional editor as well that I want you to memorize it beautiful Hadith. And he may do it for the people of both here. And then he said, How I wish I could see my brothers, my whiny. The Sahaba said, Dr.

00:08:55--> 00:09:40

rasulillah are we not your brethren? And he said, No, you are my Sahaba unto us halaby my brethren are those who are going to come after you. They've never seen me and they would give up all that they own just to see me once. May Allah make us amongst those who love the process of that much. That's my brethren. So they said the other sutala How will you recognize them on judgment day? How would you know the bread? You know Abubakar? Mrs. Man? How do you know Bella, you know us? How will you recognize your brethren on judgment day? So he said, Don't you see if one of you has a beautiful horse that is more and more head gel and horse is the horse that has that white strip on its

00:09:40--> 00:09:59

forehead and across the world and I'm not a horse owner. I'm not into horses. yet. When I see such a horse, I'm like, Wow, that's a beautiful horse. You have that white streak in the middle. This is called the Mohawk journal is the horse that at the very bottom of its limbs, there is that white streak as well or the bottom tip above the foot is white as well.

00:10:00--> 00:10:43

This was the most beautiful type of horse that is the Arabian stallion, the Arabian horse that has that white strip in the middle. It's a dark horse. It has that white strip and it's limbs 234 of its limbs. It's the our white stripped on top of the, the the hoof. So this is more agile. So he said, if one of you had one of those stallions, that's hora Mahajan, and it was in a whole flock of horses. Couldn't you recognize that one stallion and all of those horses. They said, of course. So the profitsystem said, in oma t tuna, yo malkia, ma, te horen Maha jelly and I'm in a third and we'll do my own mo will come, all of them will have those bright faces and those bright limbs from

00:10:43--> 00:11:27

the effects of the will do. This means all Muslims, the only way that our Navy and our school will recognize you and me out of the billions of people on Judgement Day to call us to drink from his fountain to call us to drink from the house to call us so that we can be under his shefa the only way we'll be through the wazoo. If we do not have the effects of will do then our nebby will not recognize us what a loss that is. So my own mo will come Horan mahogany from the effects of the will do our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also recommended after we make will do he said whoever perfects the will do, whoever does will do with it, ma'am and again with it, ma'am. Doesn't mean

00:11:27--> 00:12:04

sloppy slush. Just throw water on the face. We don't care where it's going. No, this is a big mistake brothers and sisters and I speak especially to our youngsters and even to our elders. When we do we'll do that means every part of the body that water is supposed to touch it must touch it. We don't just splash some water here and there. And that's it know, wherever the water is required to touch and that's difficult we'll do but basically all the way to the elbows, the entire face wiping of the head obviously the feet up until the ankles all of the feet has to touch the water that includes between the toes as well. So our process then whoever perfects the will do what does

00:12:04--> 00:12:47

it with it man. And then he says, I shadow Allah ilaha illallah wa who la sharika was shadow Mohammed and Abu who are a pseudo Allah Jalla de Mina Tobin which eliminar Matata hidden simple da if you don't know it, look it up. It's as simple Dora Aloma Jimena to well being which aluminum Matata hidden, make me amongst those who repent and those who are pure. Whoever says this, after perfecting the will do, all eight doors of Jen will be flung open for him, all eight doors of genda will be flung open for him What a simple deed to do to get that great blessing from Allah subhana wa Tada. The bottom line brothers and sisters is will do is the key that opens up all of the other

00:12:47--> 00:13:23

rituals. The one who does will do is the righteous Muslim, who is praying who wants to be pure. And by the way, the same applies to Genova as well, the Mothman does not remain in Geneva for a long period of time, you can't maximum is like 12 hours after pray fudger you cannot remain in Geneva for a long period of time. And that's why our profit system, the being the perfect person that he was, he would never even go to sleep in the state of Geneva even though it is valid. And you can do also at fudger time, no problem. But he being who he was, he would never sleep in that state without at least doing a will do without some type of purification, then he would go to sleep even though it is

00:13:23--> 00:14:02

hard, you don't have to do hustle until the next Salah. So basically you cannot remain in the state of Geneva. You cannot remain outside of odo for long periods of time and the movement wants to be in the state of will do as much as possible. To conclude we'll summarize by saying that we'll do is half of faith will do purifies our sins will do raises our ranks will do opens the door for agenda will do protects us from the fire of hell and will do is the most important mechanism through which our nebby and our Sol sallallahu alayhi wa sallam will recognize this on judgment day and so we had better make sure that we are perfecting our rule and perfecting that which comes after it which is

00:14:02--> 00:14:06

the salon the other deeds and the shallows data. We will continue later said I'm watching
