Brothers and sisters on, again privileged to address you tonight for few moments. I pray that our

00:00:34 --> 00:00:53

being together tonight will be beneficial. I always like to begin my talk with a duel, a supplication that the Prophet Muhammad May peace and blessings be upon them. Allahumma in order to become an element, Lion for all our lives seek refuge with you for knowledge that doesn't benefit.

00:00:54 --> 00:01:05

Those who hear tonight, Muslims or non Muslims alike, I think the overwhelming majority of the people who are Muslims, but I want to tell you what I'm going to attempt to do tonight.

00:01:07 --> 00:01:08

I make no pretense.

00:01:10 --> 00:01:11

But what I'm going to do tonight,

00:01:13 --> 00:01:24

my discussion is an age old discussion is something that you're going to have to wrestle with as students in universities and colleges. And that is

00:01:25 --> 00:01:27

revelation from God,

00:01:30 --> 00:01:42

or man made law. That's the issue here tonight. And I make no pretense that where I'm coming from tonight, is from what you call divine sources.

00:01:43 --> 00:01:55

I'm going to talk today about one of the most compelling topics confronting all of you as students and all of us and that is wealth, I need someone to write on the board for me.

00:01:56 --> 00:01:58

I need volunteers on the board.

00:02:00 --> 00:02:01

Come on, guys.

00:02:10 --> 00:02:18

When I tell you to write, I want you to write, I want to give us six or seven things to write. First, I want to want you to put the word money

00:02:22 --> 00:02:23

under that.

00:02:28 --> 00:02:29

Put a gold

00:02:35 --> 00:02:36

three property

00:02:43 --> 00:02:45

for four possessions.

00:02:52 --> 00:02:54

Five things.

00:03:00 --> 00:03:02

Six, wealth

00:03:09 --> 00:03:11

in seven stuff.

00:03:15 --> 00:03:17

Tonight, we're going to talk about

00:03:19 --> 00:03:20

this secret.

00:03:22 --> 00:04:16

Thank you stay close by what I need you again, the secret of the metal, the secret of gold and possessions and property and things and stuff. We're going to talk about that tonight. And in an eye again, make no pretense where I'm coming from. I'm coming from the traditions of the prophets, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, peace and blessings upon all of them. And and you have to make a decision. As people of faith, are you going to follow revelation? Or you're going to follow mankind? I begin with something that the Prophet said this was for me, this is something that God said there was not in the Quran, the Prophet saying that God said that Allah said, Yeah, Eva de

00:04:18 --> 00:04:28

colo cuando Lune Illa men had a to festa Dhoni, the comb, all my servants, every one of you are misguided.

00:04:29 --> 00:04:59

Unless I guide you therefore acts me and I will guide you This is why every day you say at least 17 times a day is Dino sir autonomous stalking guide me to the straight path. Why do you say that so often? Because I'm telling you brothers and sisters without divine revelation. Without the Quran without an angel and the Torah. Mankind is misguided now

00:05:01 --> 00:05:03

I want to say something about the Torah.

00:05:06 --> 00:05:07

Torah,

00:05:09 --> 00:05:11

Torah and NGO, put to the side.

00:05:15 --> 00:05:26

Am annato solo Bhima on Zilla? illa himirror be one me noon coloane m&r Bella mala ekati wakatobi waru suli

00:05:27 --> 00:05:27

Thank you.

00:05:30 --> 00:05:31

This Torah

00:05:33 --> 00:05:47

muscle believing it revealed to musar li salat wa salam. O. Allah said, when's Allah Torah while in jail, and we revealed the Torah and the NGO gospel, it comes from Allah.

00:05:48 --> 00:05:59

We do not believe that God sent many religions. We believe that God said one religion. And this is why the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said MBL,

00:06:00 --> 00:06:07

Latin, oma, Hatoum, Shatta Wale, Dean Whitehead, the prophets, all of them are brothers.

00:06:09 --> 00:06:20

All of the prophets of brothers, their mothers are different, but the religion is one. So we believe that the Divine Source came to prophets.

00:06:22 --> 00:06:23

Moses, Jesus,

00:06:25 --> 00:06:28

and I want to show you what Allah says in the Koran about the Torah.

00:06:30 --> 00:06:31

He had who doesn't want to

00:06:34 --> 00:06:38

see how, who doesn't want nor

00:06:39 --> 00:06:42

in, in it is guidance and light.

00:06:44 --> 00:07:38

What Allah says about the Injeel, the gospel revealed to Jesus fee who then when you're in it is guidance, and light. So you must believe that God has always guided mankind through prophets and Revelation. as Muslims, we believe in all of the revelation and we believe in all of the prophets. In fact, the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said about Jesus. Either m&r Raja Lu B, Isa foom, am an IB, fellow who, as Ronnie, whoever believes in Jesus and then believes in me will have a double reward. So as Muslims, we don't make any distinction between the prophets. All of them are from Allah named them and by the way, burns, this is an hour I want to clarify something here, which

00:07:38 --> 00:07:50

Muslims are at, I heard an email give a talk and said that God that Jesus and and David cursed the children of Israel. How many of you heard that?

00:07:53 --> 00:07:53

Did you ever hear that?

00:07:54 --> 00:08:03

It's not true. You have to say what alone says. Luke in that Latina castle room in benicia? Il? Allah Allah Sangeeta O'Dwyer is even Miriam.

00:08:05 --> 00:08:42

The disbelievers of the children of Israel, were cursed by the tongue of Jesus. And and and David and Jesus, the disbelievers. You see, Francis, you got to think about this. Don't Don't make this mistake of condemning all of the children of Israel, you should never do it because you know what? Many of our great profits came from the children of Israel if you studied the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon them, he said that the the children of Israel had many profits and once one of them died was succeeded by another prophet.

00:08:44 --> 00:08:45

None Think about this.

00:08:46 --> 00:08:52

Think about some of the names that we have. This is just an aside from I'm going to go off topic for mom, would you mind?

00:08:53 --> 00:08:56

You don't mind? Okay, good. Think about this right?

00:08:57 --> 00:09:03

Look at the names that we have as Muslims. And when I mentioned the name of a prophet, tell me if you know Muslims who have that name,

00:09:05 --> 00:09:05

ready?

00:09:07 --> 00:09:07

Sulaiman.

00:09:09 --> 00:09:14

Okay. As the name of, of the children of Israel, Prophet, the

00:09:16 --> 00:09:21

children of Israel, Isa, Musa. Harun, are you?

00:09:22 --> 00:09:30

These are children of Israel prophets. And we take the names so don't know don't say I'm gonna change my name now. No.

00:09:32 --> 00:09:50

But you get my point. So don't condemn all the children of Israel. When Allah mentions the disbelievers among the children of Israel was cursed by the on by the tongue of David, Prophet David and Prophet Isa. Even Marian hungama die. Okay.

00:09:53 --> 00:09:54

Let's talk about money for a moment.

00:09:56 --> 00:09:58

Let's be real. You all want it

00:10:02 --> 00:10:03

Tell me one of you who don't

00:10:06 --> 00:10:10

you want it costs you though? acceding your eyes.

00:10:12 --> 00:10:16

And let's let's be real, it's, it's it's needed.

00:10:17 --> 00:10:24

We need we need money. You need money for tuition. By the way Brandon says is one of my

00:10:25 --> 00:10:32

one of the things I want to do not make a new promise now, but let me tell you one of the things that I would like to do is to find a way

00:10:33 --> 00:10:34

to finance

00:10:36 --> 00:10:40

students who want to go to college and get interest free loans.

00:10:41 --> 00:10:44

That this is this is a dream of yours.

00:10:45 --> 00:10:47

Yeah. Which which organization?

00:10:51 --> 00:10:52

Where are they located?

00:10:54 --> 00:11:00

get that information for me? Get it for me, right. Because is it? Is it? Are they working on an operation?

00:11:01 --> 00:11:03

Okay, excellent. And what kind of money are they given?

00:11:05 --> 00:11:08

Like, like, how much partial loans for loans?

00:11:13 --> 00:11:14

Excellent.

00:11:17 --> 00:11:20

Excellent. This is, this is wonderful.

00:11:21 --> 00:11:25

I was this year in the west of Canada,

00:11:26 --> 00:11:50

an area called Fort McMurray, Canada. And I'm delighted some Muslims don't exactly that, but they don't have a whole lot of money, but they're making interest free loans. So you need money to go to school and in the tuition is unbelievable. In some schools, the tuition is this mind boggling. So you need money for school, you need money for food and your love to eat.

00:11:51 --> 00:12:15

Especially youngsters man, like college students love the E. Okay, so you need money for clothing. You need it for to build masjids and synagogues and churches and temples and hospitals and in all of that, so so don't get me wrong. We need money on the one hand, but money is is.

00:12:17 --> 00:12:17

It's it's a

00:12:19 --> 00:12:19

it's

00:12:21 --> 00:12:21

it's

00:12:23 --> 00:12:24

what I want to say.

00:12:28 --> 00:12:29

It's tricky.

00:12:30 --> 00:12:31

It's tricky.

00:12:32 --> 00:12:42

And what I like to do today is show you how tricky money is. And what I'm going to what I think do for you today. First of all,

00:12:43 --> 00:12:51

there is nothing in the Quran and the Sunnah in scriptures that prevent you from getting as much money as you want. Nothing.

00:12:53 --> 00:13:02

Allah is silent on the amount of money that you get. I'm going to talk about at hacker motor castle in a few minutes.

00:13:03 --> 00:13:09

He's silent on how much money you make. But two issues that you never forget issue number one.

00:13:10 --> 00:13:14

Min, is it possible? How did you earn it?

00:13:16 --> 00:13:18

is a crucial question with Allah.

00:13:19 --> 00:13:31

How did you earn it? Did you earn it in a lawful manner? What did you learn? Did you earn it in a non lawful manner? And haram way? Number two, FEMA and faco. How did you spend it?

00:13:33 --> 00:13:46

So the two issues that's gonna be before us about men about property about gold, about what is how did you earn it? And number two, how did you spend it? Now?

00:13:49 --> 00:13:53

I said, I said money is interesting. And

00:13:55 --> 00:13:59

I'm going to do something that you sell them here. You've heard me give lectures before.

00:14:00 --> 00:14:05

Seldom Have you heard me do what I'm going to do today.

00:14:07 --> 00:14:12

I said that I'm coming from the tradition

00:14:13 --> 00:14:19

of have divine guidance from Scripture, from prophets.

00:14:20 --> 00:14:24

I'm going to quote something from the Bible to three things from the Bible.

00:14:25 --> 00:14:43

The reason that I'm doing it I'm trying to show you the consistent consistency and the message of Mohammed peace and blessings be upon them with the message of Jesus now just take a look at this. Just take a listen. And because of this some Christians here they can pick and bear witness what I'm doing.

00:14:50 --> 00:14:51

I think this is an incredible

00:14:53 --> 00:14:55

and Matthew

00:14:57 --> 00:14:58

19 chapter

00:15:01 --> 00:15:10

In the 16th verse and just listen to me and then and this, see if we can find something similar in the court, no Hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon them.

00:15:12 --> 00:15:20

And behold, one A man came and said to him, Jesus, good Master,

00:15:21 --> 00:15:26

what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

00:15:28 --> 00:15:44

And he Jesus said unto him, Why call is doubt me good. There is none good, but one, that is God. But if that would enter into life, keep the commandments.

00:15:45 --> 00:16:18

He said unto him, Which ones? Jesus said, Thou shalt not commit murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father, and thy mother, and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man said unto him, all these things I have kept from my youth, what do I lack? In Jesus said unto him, now listen to this, this, the essence of my my talk,

00:16:19 --> 00:16:34

is that will be perfect. Go and sell that that has all that have go serve it, and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasures in heaven, and then come and follow me.

00:16:37 --> 00:16:45

But when the young man heard that saying, he went away, sorrowful, for he had great

00:16:47 --> 00:16:49

possessions.

00:16:50 --> 00:16:51

The stuff for me,

00:16:52 --> 00:17:03

is Jesus saying wealth is bad? No, he's not saying wealth is bad. In this young man wants to know, how can I get to the kingdom of God? Jesus, okay.

00:17:04 --> 00:17:17

keep the commandments or keep the commandments. Okay, good, good. Now what I want you to do take all your wealth, and sell it, and give it to the poor. And that man couldn't do it. Number one, number two,

00:17:19 --> 00:17:25

Jesus continues, according to the Bible, and again, I'm coming from from the Scripture. So that

00:17:30 --> 00:18:01

and when the man heard that, saying, he went very away very sorrowful, for he had great possessions, Then said Jesus until his disciples, verily I say to you, that a rich man can hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again, I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

00:18:05 --> 00:18:09

Say about a dusty Bible, man, we don't believe in the Bible, we believe in the Koran.

00:18:10 --> 00:18:23

That's true. Let's see, if the Prophet said something similar. Let me give one more verse from the Bible if I can. And you've probably all heard of it. I'm going to start it and you continue it, you finish it, right?

00:18:26 --> 00:18:27

The love of money

00:18:29 --> 00:18:29

is

00:18:33 --> 00:18:35

Who said that? Say it again.

00:18:38 --> 00:18:41

The love of money is the root

00:18:42 --> 00:18:43

of all evil.

00:18:45 --> 00:18:46

So the Bible isn't in the Bible.

00:18:48 --> 00:18:50

Hmm, I don't know.

00:18:51 --> 00:18:56

Take it for me. I used to be a Christian. It's there and Timothy, take it from me. You believe me?

00:18:57 --> 00:18:58

you believe me? Okay, good.

00:19:00 --> 00:19:00

All right.

00:19:03 --> 00:19:05

Where was Jesus coming from?

00:19:07 --> 00:19:10

Let's see what Mohammed said. sobre la seldomly.

00:19:16 --> 00:19:21

You're the Hulu corrigenda, kubla Agni, a become simian army

00:19:23 --> 00:19:32

or people will enter Paradise 500 years before rich people.

00:19:34 --> 00:19:35

Why do you say that?

00:19:39 --> 00:19:40

It is normal to

00:19:42 --> 00:19:45

elect to have agenda fried to early

00:19:47 --> 00:19:58

alpha Cora. I looked in Paradise and saw that the majority of the inhabitants poor people hmm

00:20:00 --> 00:20:00

Hmm.

00:20:02 --> 00:20:03

Can rich people go to Paradise?

00:20:05 --> 00:20:05

Cause they care?

00:20:08 --> 00:20:12

Does being rich stop you from going to paradise? Of course not.

00:20:14 --> 00:20:17

But now let's see the reality.

00:20:18 --> 00:20:38

Now we're going to talk about the nature of human beings. And brothers and sisters, this is the secret of wealth. If you understand what I'm about to say, Now, you will get the secret of wealth, you will get it. And the Prophet said it peace and blessings be upon them about six different ways. I'm going to give you a couple he said

00:20:40 --> 00:20:42

la cannoli Ebony Adam.

00:20:43 --> 00:20:45

Now this word

00:20:50 --> 00:20:51

in Hades literature.

00:21:25 --> 00:21:26

Even though Adam

00:21:27 --> 00:21:42

literally it means the son of Adam, in Hades literature whenever you see even though Adam it means all of humanity. That's what it means. It means he, unless the Prophet is specifically talking about one of the sons of Adam,

00:21:44 --> 00:21:53

when you see it, no, Adam, he's talking about humanity. So as a general generality is not just men. It's Children of Adam. That's all of us as

00:21:59 --> 00:22:00

human beings.

00:22:06 --> 00:22:13

is the son of evolution of human beings isn't a value of gold.

00:22:14 --> 00:22:22

A value of gold is he was given a valuable this guy right here. This handsome unmarried

00:22:23 --> 00:22:25

man, this Merry Christmas.

00:22:27 --> 00:22:30

This he's given a valuable,

00:22:33 --> 00:22:34

valuable.

00:22:42 --> 00:22:44

Why? Because

00:23:01 --> 00:23:01

he said

00:23:03 --> 00:23:04

Laemmle

00:23:06 --> 00:23:09

jofa, Ebony Adam. electron.

00:23:11 --> 00:23:42

He said, Because nothing can fill the stomach of human beings except dust. We say what that means. This is a what's called a euphemism. When it said that nothing can fill the stomachs except thus it means death. that a person will never stop wanting until they die. This is the nature of human beings. They want more and more and more. And no matter how much you give them. They still want more.

00:23:44 --> 00:23:46

Now, I'm gonna put my granddaughter on the spot.

00:23:48 --> 00:23:51

Don't get nervous, right. Okay.

00:23:53 --> 00:23:55

Do you have shoes? You don't?

00:23:56 --> 00:23:58

In front of the entire world.

00:23:59 --> 00:24:09

Now we never we didn't talk about this right? I haven't spoken to you today. Right? You have no idea what I'm going to do. Right? Okay. still nervous. Now you are nervous right?

00:24:11 --> 00:24:13

Marian How many? How many shoes do you

00:24:16 --> 00:24:17

know?

00:24:19 --> 00:24:21

is so many you can't count?

00:24:23 --> 00:24:24

About how many think

00:24:25 --> 00:24:25

about

00:24:28 --> 00:24:30

but 10 could come in here.

00:24:37 --> 00:24:38

I love them.

00:24:39 --> 00:24:40

She put her head down.

00:24:43 --> 00:24:44

A lot. Oh, yeah.

00:24:46 --> 00:24:47

Hey,

00:24:50 --> 00:24:58

can I tell you that? The average American woman how many shoes they have. Do you know what you think? 150

00:25:00 --> 00:25:11

No isn't actually know the average American woman has 19 pairs of shoes but only use about four men don't have a lot of shoes watch this watch

00:25:12 --> 00:25:40

me shoes yeah 33444364354345 huh eight Mashallah you the winner

00:25:41 --> 00:25:49

but you see my point? You my point women is different. There's some women won't even tell us how many shoes they have.

00:25:50 --> 00:25:54

The who has the most shoes who who's famous for for having a lot of shoes.

00:25:56 --> 00:25:56

Hmm

00:25:58 --> 00:25:59

the right the

00:26:03 --> 00:26:08

see was the first lady of Philippines. Imelda Marcos was her name.

00:26:10 --> 00:26:12

Let me show pitch you see her?

00:26:16 --> 00:26:17

See?

00:26:19 --> 00:26:25

It depends on who you speak into. They say the bare minimum 1600 up to 7000.

00:26:27 --> 00:26:32

On believeable what are you gonna do all those shoes?

00:26:34 --> 00:26:36

And you know, she was exiled.

00:26:37 --> 00:26:43

In many of those shoes, they said termites termites ate it up. destroyed, wasted.

00:26:44 --> 00:26:50

People likes stuff. 2003 I think it was

00:26:52 --> 00:26:53

an album came out.

00:26:54 --> 00:26:56

What was the name of that album?

00:26:57 --> 00:26:57

Very famous.

00:27:03 --> 00:27:03

Set again.

00:27:05 --> 00:27:19

Get Rich, or that trial by Curtis Jackson, who's named citizens. They can say 50 cents. You got to say 50 cents.

00:27:21 --> 00:27:25

Honestly, honestly, if you tell somebody His name is 50 cents.

00:27:27 --> 00:27:30

You're not cool. You got say 50 cents.

00:27:32 --> 00:27:39

And, and then two years later, 2005 we came up with a movie, same name, get rich or die trying.

00:27:41 --> 00:27:42

Actually,

00:27:43 --> 00:27:49

there's a more accurate term he could have said he could have said get rich or go to prison trying.

00:27:51 --> 00:28:06

Because many people because of this something about wealth, about money, about gold, about possessions about stuff about property. It's like you gotta have it. Let me give you some cases that just happened last week.

00:28:07 --> 00:28:18

A man murdered his son. Let me let me put a word here that you should always use to help you evaluate things is a Latin word.

00:28:24 --> 00:28:27

Que Bono. se que Bono.

00:28:29 --> 00:28:33

Does anybody know what that means? Of course, you're going to tell us Of course, of course.

00:28:37 --> 00:28:41

Oh, no, almost. Anybody know? Cubano?

00:28:42 --> 00:28:57

You in a law enforcement have to understand this term is important. When you study what's going on in the Muslim world right now. You should always ask yourself the question coupon or coupon Oh means who benefits?

00:28:58 --> 00:28:59

Who benefits?

00:29:00 --> 00:29:02

When the World Trade Center

00:29:04 --> 00:29:07

was brought down? who benefited?

00:29:09 --> 00:29:14

See, detectives always want to know when they tried to find the criminal. They ask the question Who benefits

00:29:15 --> 00:29:23

Boko Haram that group and Nigeria who benefits? Has Muslims benefited the Muslims benefit from 911

00:29:25 --> 00:29:27

the Muslims benefit from Boko Haram

00:29:28 --> 00:29:34

this ISIS now look at the chick that you see now ISIS right. Islamic state of Syria and Iraq.

00:29:39 --> 00:29:46

is is is That's right. That's right. Islamic State Iraq and Syria right.

00:29:50 --> 00:29:53

If you notice now, a trend

00:29:54 --> 00:30:00

I was reading today I was in Atlanta, Georgia today and I got I was on a plane like I got a copy of it.

00:30:00 --> 00:30:01

The Economist.

00:30:02 --> 00:30:04

And now what they're saying.

00:30:06 --> 00:30:08

Is Islamic State.

00:30:10 --> 00:30:22

In every way you look now, they're saying Islamic State, we're going to fight the Islamic State. The subtle the South is clear to me. Now this ISIS

00:30:24 --> 00:30:25

Cui Bono.

00:30:27 --> 00:30:28

We've all know

00:30:30 --> 00:30:39

the Muslims benefit from this. Is this given down? Is this making people want to become Muslim? Or is it making people hate Muslims?

00:30:41 --> 00:30:41

Cui Bono.

00:30:45 --> 00:30:45

Last week,

00:30:48 --> 00:30:49

a man killed his son.

00:30:51 --> 00:30:52

Have you heard about it or not?

00:30:54 --> 00:30:58

Well, you every day, right. Why did you kill a song? Anyone have any idea?

00:31:00 --> 00:31:00

Yes.

00:31:02 --> 00:31:03

Again?

00:31:05 --> 00:31:16

No, that's good. But that's a good guess. Couldn't afford us in the school. That's actually there's something other other things I want to mention that similar to that. But no, anybody know anybody hear about it.

00:31:17 --> 00:31:25

And what happened is that when he was arrested for killing his son, it found out and found out that years ago, he also killed his wife.

00:31:26 --> 00:31:32

And he killed his wife for the same reason he killed his son. And what was that?

00:31:34 --> 00:31:35

Money?

00:31:36 --> 00:31:37

And what form

00:31:39 --> 00:31:54

life insurance. Brandon says, I'm telling you, if you research how many people have killed their husbands, their wives, their children, their parents, just to get money. There's a woman who killed four family members

00:31:55 --> 00:31:58

just to collect the insurance.

00:31:59 --> 00:31:59

Imagine

00:32:02 --> 00:32:04

killing somebody, you killing your father

00:32:06 --> 00:32:10

for insurance. Now 50 cents.

00:32:14 --> 00:32:16

What did he do before he became a rapper?

00:32:17 --> 00:32:18

So drugs

00:32:20 --> 00:32:24

and people trying to get rich

00:32:25 --> 00:32:29

selling drugs. Let me give you some facts.

00:32:31 --> 00:32:39

More money is spent on illegal drugs than on food, clothing, education, housing,

00:32:40 --> 00:32:42

medical expenses.

00:32:43 --> 00:32:49

These you know that drug is an unbelievable multi billion dollar operation.

00:32:50 --> 00:32:52

But is it legal?

00:32:53 --> 00:32:54

Is it ethical?

00:32:55 --> 00:32:58

Khosla because you know why?

00:32:59 --> 00:33:03

The money, the money, get the money.

00:33:05 --> 00:33:18

It's something about that matters. Wealth is a trial, it's almost a curse is almost a curse. If you're not careful. It can happen to you.

00:33:19 --> 00:33:23

They said one of the oldest professions, is prostitution.

00:33:24 --> 00:33:27

A woman selling her body?

00:33:28 --> 00:33:31

Why would a woman sell her body?

00:33:34 --> 00:33:37

mass, gold money.

00:33:39 --> 00:33:42

Now, what I'm going to say now is a little personal.

00:33:43 --> 00:33:46

Brand says if I had a lot of money, you know what I would do?

00:33:47 --> 00:33:53

I would invest it in a business so that I can hire as many people as I can.

00:33:54 --> 00:34:08

And that that will be my only objective. Is it wrong to have a business to make money? Of course not. You can make as much money as long as you want. But again, what are the two questions you have to ask number one?

00:34:11 --> 00:34:15

How did you earn it? Number two? How did you spend it?

00:34:16 --> 00:34:40

Now, the reason I say that you go across this nation, from Cisco and other major corporations that have laid off 1000s and 1000s of workers. You know why they lay them off? Could you blame them if they were losing money? I say you know what, we have to lay you off because we lose the money. Could you blame them? No.

00:34:41 --> 00:34:50

But what if I told you that despite making billions of dollars in profit, they lay off these American workers

00:34:52 --> 00:34:52

why

00:34:55 --> 00:34:56

greedy

00:34:58 --> 00:34:58

greedy

00:35:00 --> 00:35:11

For them, everything is the bottom line. We got to make more money. We ain't making enough money, money. And you know, one of the mistakes that we make

00:35:13 --> 00:35:15

we look at the little people like this guy

00:35:19 --> 00:35:23

is a little drug dealer that that you enjoy. But you're not me right?

00:35:27 --> 00:35:37

But you know what I mean? We look at look at them, look at them you know Brahmas man do Robin to people but you know what some of the biggest robbers a nation's

00:35:38 --> 00:35:47

they robbed countries, they do the same thing that normal people do the drug dealers do. But they do it on a higher scale.

00:35:49 --> 00:36:01

Money, money, money, money, money, money, the love of money. The dunya is what people love. They love the money. They love the dunya. Now, that by the way,

00:36:02 --> 00:36:08

you know, does anybody know the most expensive house in the world? What country is it in?

00:36:11 --> 00:36:17

second debate has the tallest building, but not the most expensive personal house.

00:36:18 --> 00:36:25

Where's that? What country? India who said that? And who built that house?

00:36:27 --> 00:36:28

A man

00:36:29 --> 00:36:31

a man from India. I love

00:36:34 --> 00:36:39

Yeah. Give me a high five man. All right. Now you cool.

00:36:40 --> 00:36:41

Now,

00:36:42 --> 00:36:49

the richest man in India built a house 27 stories, six stories just for his cause

00:36:50 --> 00:37:00

600 workers to take care of that house. And you know how much the house costs $1 billion $1 billion

00:37:01 --> 00:37:23

to have this indeed that? I mean, come on, the stuff that's in it to possessions that's in it. That's what people do. And you know what? It can happen to all of us. Because the human nature is I want more. And if you get it, you want more? And enough.

00:37:24 --> 00:37:24

So

00:37:26 --> 00:37:28

So now, what are you gonna do?

00:37:30 --> 00:37:31

There's always an exception.

00:37:32 --> 00:37:35

Go back to the example of Jesus piece of blessing department.

00:37:36 --> 00:37:37

Here come this man.

00:37:39 --> 00:37:39

And

00:37:41 --> 00:37:43

he wants to know about eternal life.

00:37:45 --> 00:37:46

Do you really want it?

00:37:48 --> 00:37:54

I mean, do you really want it? Okay, sell everything you have, sell it, give it to the poor and follow me.

00:37:55 --> 00:37:58

Few can do that he walked away disappointed.

00:38:00 --> 00:38:20

Let me give you an example of the exception to the rule. The Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said that if I were given wealth, the size of Mount Hood, it wouldn't please me except I give it away in three days, except what I would keep to pay debts. This is exception

00:38:22 --> 00:38:24

code the size of no

00:38:25 --> 00:38:26

to profit set the profit

00:38:28 --> 00:38:41

is the profit set it he means are given away in three days. What does he know about this man? What does he know about this money, this wealth this possession this stuff? The property

00:38:43 --> 00:38:45

exception number two,

00:38:46 --> 00:38:51

Omar read the law and how would you agree is a great Muslim? Second Khalifa.

00:38:53 --> 00:38:55

He said he got some money.

00:38:57 --> 00:39:02

And the Prophet peace and blessings be upon them ordered the Sahaba to give charity.

00:39:03 --> 00:39:18

And Omar said I got this money. And today I'm going to beat Abu Bakr I'm going to give more money than money for what to build a house for shoes for clothing for Kmart

00:39:20 --> 00:39:21

for charity.

00:39:22 --> 00:39:27

So he went to the Prophet peace and blessings be upon them and gave them half his wealth.

00:39:28 --> 00:39:43

And the Prophet said What did you leave for your family? He said something similar. So that if Omar had 100,000 he gave 50,000 to the prophet and 50,000 to his family. These numbers are making up you understand but just to make a point

00:39:45 --> 00:39:46

and then he'll come up.

00:39:48 --> 00:39:53

He goes to the Prophet peace and blessings be upon them. This Hadith authenticated Tierra Medina Buddhahood

00:39:55 --> 00:39:58

he gives the Prophet everything that he has

00:40:00 --> 00:40:04

The Prophet Aksum Abubakar, what did you leave for your family? He said Allah.

00:40:06 --> 00:40:07

Allah, Allah and His messenger.

00:40:08 --> 00:40:14

He gave everything that he had. He'll say, Come on, man.

00:40:15 --> 00:40:15

Come on,

00:40:16 --> 00:40:17

come on.

00:40:20 --> 00:40:24

No, I can hear you say that right? I was listening to your little brains say that.

00:40:28 --> 00:40:29

You know why?

00:40:30 --> 00:40:31

The key?

00:40:33 --> 00:40:34

The key is faith.

00:40:36 --> 00:40:41

Never, ever let your objective in life be for money.

00:40:43 --> 00:40:45

Let your objective and life the pleasure of Allah.

00:40:47 --> 00:41:02

And money is a means for that. In this is why the companions peace and blessings be upon them. The poor Muslims complained to the Prophet Alayhi salat wa salam, he nobody complained to him. He said, because the wealthy ones,

00:41:03 --> 00:41:12

the habit, the thorough the jury, the wealthy ones among us, they take all the reward. They pray, like we pray.

00:41:13 --> 00:41:45

They fast like we fast, but they're able to give charity with the excess excess. Well, we can't. We don't have it. So they want to compete. But it's another kind of competition. They're competing for agenda. And this is the key. You see, Ron says, The problem with us is that we caught up in this we this is the law, this is the thing that we want. And you know, you want to study law enforcement, many of you will go to law enforcement from those from from j&j.

00:41:46 --> 00:41:54

Some of you may be judges one day, or prosecutors or even defense lawyers, you know, who's gonna come in front of you a lot of cases.

00:41:56 --> 00:42:07

So many cases dealing with this, you know, how many judges how many Congress people, Senators, and people that's been caught for fraud,

00:42:08 --> 00:42:09

governance.

00:42:11 --> 00:42:12

Because of that,

00:42:13 --> 00:42:16

and this is the key, I conclude I conclude with this.

00:42:22 --> 00:42:24

And how komuter castle

00:42:25 --> 00:42:26

to macabeo.

00:42:29 --> 00:42:30

This word

00:42:32 --> 00:42:34

in Arabic is a word called derived

00:42:43 --> 00:42:44

from the word

00:42:46 --> 00:42:47

laiya.

00:42:49 --> 00:42:52

Allah means to,

00:42:53 --> 00:42:56

to divert, take your attention away.

00:42:58 --> 00:43:00

I'll have to cancel

00:43:01 --> 00:43:30

it, it's not just wealth. What is competing with wealth, trying to outdo the other in more and more stuff. A lot of times competition. I want my neighbor, my neighbor have this. And I want that I want more and more and more and more and more. Had the zoo to macabeo Zoo to from the word Zara to visit

00:43:32 --> 00:43:33

Zara to visit

00:43:37 --> 00:43:37

now,

00:43:38 --> 00:43:40

Zoo means

00:43:41 --> 00:43:42

zoo.

00:43:44 --> 00:44:19

You visit this isn't another protocol a euphemism. When you say Allah says you continue to do that until you visit the grave. A lot of mean that you go to the cemetery to visit the cemetery know what is saying is what the prophet said is that when you visit the grave meaning when you die, you continue that struggle trying to accumulate stuff until you die. And then when you die you know the reality of it. Now let's go back put put it back on

00:44:21 --> 00:44:21

put

00:44:23 --> 00:44:27

who's my technical man? But I totally leave the divorce there.

00:44:31 --> 00:44:33

The castle

00:44:35 --> 00:44:38

I want to go to the end of the verse.

00:44:45 --> 00:44:59

I want to go on I'm going to go all the way from there. Color color the moon for to become a go formula. No the next one. Yeah, formula to Selenium is a 99. I'm gonna go here and then I'm gonna

00:45:00 --> 00:45:00

To wrap up

00:45:06 --> 00:45:08

this one I want to leave you with brothers and sisters,

00:45:11 --> 00:45:12

Ollie radula. And he said,

00:45:16 --> 00:45:20

in the human animal law, he said, well, then he said, Well,

00:45:22 --> 00:45:23

this is

00:45:24 --> 00:45:37

we live in now in a time of action, and no accounting. And then there will be a day of accounting and no action. Now, you have so many gifts from Allah, called the netmask.

00:45:38 --> 00:45:52

And according to this ayat of the Quran, Allah is going to actually about the nightmare that you have two things the Prophet nipmuc attorney, two things that most people they miss, and that is free time.

00:45:53 --> 00:45:54

And health.

00:45:56 --> 00:45:59

You see brothers and sisters, let me talk about the sisters for a second.

00:46:01 --> 00:46:05

When you look at the woman, this age

00:46:06 --> 00:46:09

17 1819 2021

00:46:11 --> 00:46:14

This is the time of great beauty.

00:46:15 --> 00:46:17

This is a time of strength.

00:46:18 --> 00:46:22

And you know people do and again, I don't, I'm not saying this to make fun

00:46:24 --> 00:46:38

of anybody in their religion. But people tell me from the church, Atlanta last night on the line metals, a woman, her name is Sonia. She was an associate pastor in a church. She took Shahada.

00:46:39 --> 00:46:45

She was at my house last night. This woman is a gem

00:46:47 --> 00:46:57

studying of Islam now. She's preaching, she came with her husband. And she goes to the masjid, she's studying, she's studying everything.

00:46:58 --> 00:47:03

Most Christians will tell you that. Many of the churches are filled with old people.

00:47:04 --> 00:47:14

You notice like, smack in the face. So a lot, you know what? My best of myself ain't given it to you.

00:47:15 --> 00:47:16

I'm giving it to the dounia

00:47:17 --> 00:47:51

in later on, when I get old, I give you myself. When I'm 16 1718 years old, then I go back to the masjid I go back to the church I go back to the synagogue. You brother strong now the time to give yourself to a lot now. I wait till I get older. You know what? Because you know what? I you know, I gotta have my fun. Now having my fun getting my stuff magga get paid. This is the attitude that is the attitude of the people. And you know what man?

00:47:52 --> 00:48:11

in our lives looking at us, you look at some of the companions of the Prophet peace and blessings be upon them. They were young. And they gave their lives to Allah. And they gave a lot lives to the dean, when the young and strong and beautiful and all that.

00:48:12 --> 00:48:16

But you know what? People don't really believe in Africa.

00:48:17 --> 00:48:22

This is the one that now and what this verse is saying, on that day,

00:48:24 --> 00:48:33

everyone will be questioned about what they had. I give an example of a man you heard about it two years ago in Bosnia.

00:48:36 --> 00:48:37

He wanted to make Hodge

00:48:39 --> 00:49:07

he had much money. So not only did he walked from Bosnia to Mecca, in form harch 3600 miles, I fly I have driven from New York to Atlanta as 900 miles I drove and I was tired after driving 900 miles he walk 3600 miles you think a lot of not pleased with that. That person given that for Allah,

00:49:08 --> 00:49:15

people spending their wealth for Allah so in the end, brothers and sisters I just conclude that

00:49:17 --> 00:49:47

be grateful for whatever you have in believe me you have a lot me I look at myself so upon Allah, I feel blessed. I'm not rich at all, by any stretch of the imagination. Allah always give me exactly what I need. I had to go to the dentist and I got two crowns put on my my two family you know the crown is enormous. It cost me $2,000 no insurance. Allah bless me pay for it. Not wipe me out. But I paid for it.

00:49:48 --> 00:49:52

So you need the wealth. But at what costs?

00:49:53 --> 00:50:00

That's my question. You will come you some of you will be business people. Some of you will have jobs. You will have money.

00:50:00 --> 00:50:29

I'm saying to you that whatever you have you get it. You have a right to grow it. But don't forget your obligation. Allah makes it an obligation booni and Islam Allah, Islam is built on five one of them is painted as a cat to give to the poor. And the Prophet peace and blessings be upon them have given us all a way to what to do with the money with the wealth that we have. Please be careful. When I go visit the prisons. I'm shocked how many Muslims in prison.

00:50:30 --> 00:50:53

People get desperate to get desperate they need money to ever get desperate. I don't care how bad things get. You put your faith in the Lord Almighty. Don't you ever get desperate and just remember that we're going to be held accountable for every thing that we do melas upon water Bless you. I pray that you become wealthy

00:50:54 --> 00:51:04

in the hallway, and that you spend it in the hallway. The lobby pleased with you. And that all of you into Gentlemen, I mean Assalamu alaikum

“Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you. Until you visit the graveyards.” [Qur’an 102:1-2]

Wealth, while one of the greatest blessings that mankind has been given, is at the same time one of the greatest trials and temptations. It is mentioned in the Holy Quran, “Your wealth and your children are only a trial. And Allah – With Him is a great reward (Paradise).” [Qur’an 64:15] Furthermore it is mentioned, “And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial (fitnah) and that surely with Allah is a mighty reward.” [Qur’an 8:28] Hence, every material possession is only a test and a trial. To make this test even more difficult, the value of wealth is raised high above most other worldly goods. Almost every person has a strong craving for wealth.
