so continuing with the branches of faith, going back to the hadith of Abu Huraira or the yellow tion that there are 70 Odd branches of faith and hamdulillah in the last few days we have covered some of them and we will be continuing on this journey. So today we are talking about dua This is one of the things that Imam Ali Abdullah Hamza Allah Allah He has mentioned in his book, that this is one of the signs and the branches of iman which is to make dua to Allah subhanho wa taala. Now in 1520 minutes, it is very obvious and very, you know, it's common sense that there's absolutely no way that I can cover every single aspect of dua, there are books and books written on the subject of

dua, so today inshallah in 50 minutes, there are just few important things that I want to share with you. Hopefully I can motivate you inshallah and motivate myself keep on making dua to Allah subhanho wa taala. First of all, brothers and sisters, there's a hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, in fact, not one, but there are three Hadith I want to share with you all from a sunnah Timothy or German or Tirmidhi. The very first one a very well known Hadith the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, wherein he says a dua Oh, mahalo Riba, that dua is the essence of worship. Meaning that as a believer when I say that I am the slave of Allah subhanho wa taala. When the Quran says

To worship and to serve Allah subhanho wa Taala and there is no worship there is no way you can worship Allah, there is no way you can, you know, to ask Allah subhanaw taala without dua dua is the essence of worship. Not only that, but the prophets of Allah who it was also mentioned, that anyone who does not ask ALLAH SubhanA wa taala, Allah gets upset. Yes, Allah subhanaw taala gets upset. Now think about this. Why would ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala get upset? You know, a lot of times we get we you know, we get irritated. Imagine if someone came to us and they asked us, and they asked us and they

asked us, we're human beings. At the end of the day, we will say what sub asking even our own children at times when they come to us and they ask us, we say what, don't ask, we get upset if they will ask ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala is different. Allah subhana wa Taala gets upset when we don't ask. And so think about this. Why would Allah subhanho wa taala? And the fact that Allah of course he has his treasures are so great and so amazing. We also learn that why would Allah subhanaw taala get upset when we don't ask him is because that means that if we're not asking Allah, we're asking someone else. See, as a human being, we always are in need of help. We always are demanding and we

always want more and more. But Allah subhanho wa Taala knows that if I'm not asking him, I'm asking someone else. And that in itself makes Allah upset too. Let me give you an example. Imagine if some guests came over to your home one day, and while they're about to leave, you know, people they get, they'd gather at the door and they say a Salam aleykum and they say partying, you know, some good words and so forth. Imagine if your child walked up to one of those guests, and they said that, you know, Uncle, Auntie, can you please give me $1? Now just think about this. If they say, Can you please give me some money. Now the very first thing that's going to happen to the parents is they're

going to feel embarrassed that my child is going to someone else and they're asking someone else, but more than being embarrassed after the embarrassment phase is over. Then the one thing that's going to happen to the parents is they're they're going to be really, really upset. Why are they going to be upset that I as a parent

Since we take care of you, we look after all your needs, you know, we we provide for you, we support you, you know, we take care of so many, you know, financial matters for you and so forth. We have budgeted so much clothes, we have bought you a bed, there's so many things that we buy for you. And at the end of the day, you wanted something and you went to a stranger, you went to ask someone else, and that in itself makes a person quite angry and quite upset. Think about Allah subhanaw taala Why does Allah get upset? Because Allah is saying, I'm the one who's nourishing you. I'm the one who's taking care of you, that job that you have, Allah has given I have given it to you, that

family that you have, I have given it to you. So Allah is telling us that everything that you have from A to Z, all of it is from Allah subhanho wa Taala and yet you're not asking me yet you're going to someone else and you're asking someone else. This is why Allah subhanho wa Taala gets upset. And this is why the Prophet sallallahu it was so he also says in a hadith, that there is nothing there is nothing dear to Allah subhana wa Tada then do

and so this is why brothers and sisters do it is so important that we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala you know, in the Quran, Allah subhanho wa Taala in the context of Ramadan. There's only one passage in the Quran where Allah talks about Ramadan. He first talked about fasting, that he talked about the Quran, he talked about the legacy, the legislation of fasting, that fasting is upon who and who's not upon. And then after that, Allah subhanaw taala, he talks about dua. Now see, what's interesting to note about this idea is that Allah subhanaw taala, he begins the ayah by saying what either and when, and when. So this is where Allah subhanaw taala says, now there's a difference

between when and if, see, if Allah Subhanallah could have said, If my slaves they ask the ask about me, or he could have said when my slaves asked about me, which tells us the why that Allah use the word either when because ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala is saying that no matter how far a person may be from Allah subhanho wa Taala but when Allah says when he comes back to me, Allah is optimistic. See ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala he has so much optimism for us, that a time will come in sha Allah from inshallah my slave will come back to me where either sir, I like everybody I need for me. Corrib your long time ago, people would come and they will ask questions from Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi

wa salam, they will come there they will ask questions about for example, the healer. So Allah so Allah says in the Quran, yes. Aluna can hinda they ask you about the moon, the phases of the moon and so forth? Allah subhanaw taala says yes or no naka, Magda Yun own the Sahara, they will come and they will ask jasola Where should we spend our money? There are many questions that the Sahaba will ask to the prophets of Salaam and nothing about this. Allah is telling the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and then the Prophet Allah you Psalm is conveying Allah's message to the Sahaba and to the entire ummah. But in that there is sort of a delay, right? Allah could have told the Sahaba

directly, but here Allah chose to tell the prophet, and then the prophet is going to convey to them the message, there is sort of a delay. Allah subhanaw taala, when he talks about dua, listen to this ayah very carefully, what either Celica or Muhammad when my slaves ask you about Me. Now Allah could have told the prophet, tell them that I am near. Now in doing that Allah is telling the prophet the prophet is telling us there is sort of a delay, but Allah wants to tell us and he wants to send a very strong message to us, that there is absolutely no delay and Allah is there, he's listening to us. He is close to us. This is why Allah did not say in this ayah Oh Muhammad, tell them that I am

close. Allah came forward and said for in the Hadith, I am close. Now when you have a person who is far versus a person who is close, you able to talk to each other, right? You know, you have more intimate conversations when a person is sitting right next to you, right? Versus a person who's sitting far. You're on the phone you're on you know, there's someone who could be hacking or someone Someone probably knows about your conversation. But when you're sitting next to another person, you're having an intimate conversation, it's only between you two, ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada says, I am close. Oh gee boo, I respond. Tao with a dairy either the iron I respond to the DUA maker when he

makes dua. So the actual definition of the ayah is I respond to the call of the caller when he calls Tao with a diary either the iron all these three words. The root word is what do ya Allah subhanaw taala saying make

Do our to me in specially in the month of Ramadan. So brothers and sisters it is so important that especially in the month of Ramadan, we should always be asking Allah subhanho wa taala. And once again Allah is saying he is so close to us. Now the next question that many people have asked, in fact, you know, I was going through some of the, these YouTube videos, and there was a brother who actually asked his question that, you know what if you know, you ask Allah subhanaw taala and Allah does not accept it, and what happens in that kind of situation. So I want to quickly talk about that too. What happens is that there are three things that happens to our dua. The first thing that

happens is that either Allah subhanho wa Taala gives us what we are asking for. The second thing that may happen is that Allah subhana wa taala, he may save us from an affliction, or he may give us something in our life as a result of that dua. How many times Imagine if your child is sick, and one day you go back home, and your wife tells you, or your child or our child, our child is feeling much better? Right away, you feel Alhamdulillah, who knows, you probably one day you may do. And for that dua, Allah gave you the news, the good news of the cure of your of your son or your daughter. Imagine one day you're just sitting, and all of a sudden you get an email in your inbox, and you

open it up. And you see that there is a company that is reaching out to you. They want your services, they want your expertise. And you had no idea where it came from. Yes, the word may have passed on to them, but the word came from them and they are looking for you. And they're willing to give you a much bigger salary, a much bigger, you know, income, and you're thinking to yourself Subhanallah, this is amazing. But you don't realize we may not realize that we may do us someday. And as a result of that dua, Allah subhanaw taala made this happen, or who knows that one day when we are driving on the street, and there's some person who may not know how to drive well, and we

save ourselves and we hit the brakes the last second last second. And we're able to save ourselves from a calamity and a disaster and an accident by one second, one second. And we say Alhamdulillah. And we're like, you know, amazing ALLAH SubhanA save me, who knows that one day you made a DUA and as a result of that dua, ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala saved you. It is absolutely true that Allah will either save us or Allah will give us something as a result of our dua. The third thing that happens is that on the Day of Judgment, a person will be sitting, and all of a sudden, he will see that there is so much reward for this person. And he's thinking to himself that there is absolutely no

way that this or this reward is mine. And then he will ask Allah Subhana Allah, Oh Allah, where did all this reward come from? And Allah subhanho wa Taala will say, Oh, my slave, oh, my slave. You used to make so much dua in this dunya. And there are a lot of things that I did not either compensate it like I never saved you or I never gave you something for it, and neither did I accept your DUA. So for those doers that I did not accept. This is all this reward is for you on the Day of Judgment. At that time, a person will say, Oh Allah, Oh Allah, why did you accept any of my drugs? Subhan Allah, Allahu Akbar. A person will say why did you accept any of my dual eyes? Because when

we see in the hereafter the benefits of those who eyes we will say this to Allah subhanho wa taala. So this is why brothers and sisters never feel when ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada says, I respond to the call and the DUA maker when he makes dua, ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala will respond but how does Allah respond to that? That is not what the verse has mentioned. And this hadith teaches us that Allah's way of responding is totally different, not the way you and I we understand the concept of response, but Allah has a different idea of what a response is. It Musa Allah Hassan one day, he's making dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala the people beneath Saeed are standing with him. They're all making dua

for rain. Oh Allah sent upon us rain, oh Allah sent upon us rain. And Allah subhanho wa taala. He says to Musa alayhis salam Musa, there is a person amongst your nation. He is an Aussie he is a disobedient person. He has committed a grave mistake, a grave sin until that person does not make Toba to Allah subhanho wa taala. Allah will not send down the rain. So moose Allah is somebody turns around to his alma he says, All people Allah has just told me that there is a person from amongst this group who has committed such a major sin, that till he does not make Toba to Allah. Allah will not bring

The way rain upon us, this person who knows he knows we internally, I'm the one that Musa is talking about. So he makes a dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala he makes an internal dua. Oh Allah, Oh Allah. Yes, indeed, I am the one who has made this mistake. But Oh Allah, I asked you, I beg you that do not today do not disgrace me, in front of these people. If I were to come out and I say that I'm the one who come into sin. I have no way to show my face later on in my community. Oh Allah, Oh Allah protect my honor, protect my dignity. And all of a sudden, it began to pour. Now just rain poor. Musa alayhis salam, everyone is happy everyone moves on. Musa alayhis salam, he's a prophet of

Allah. He needs sort of an explanation. He says, Yeah, Allah. How did this happen? How did this happen? And he says Jana Wila. That Oh Musa, the person he made a sincere Toba to Allah subhanho wa taala. So Musa says, show me who that person is. And Allah subhana wa Taala said, Absolutely not. This is something between me and that person. For it, Nico, even Allah says, I, Emir, Allah truly is near. So Allah says to Musa that you think I'm going to tell you who that person is? Absolutely not. I am the one who made who forgave him. I'm the one because of him, I send out the rain and there is no way I will expose his his identity. Because if I would have told you who he is, then you will

know that who was a person who in fact in the first place committed that sin Subhan Allah, Allah subhanaw taala is near. Just to give you a few more examples, beautiful stories from the Quran from the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, there was a mother ones.

Just Oh, let me give you first of all, let me give you an idea. Imagine if you had a child and it was born blind. You know, there is this excitement and this happiness that parents have when they have brought in a new addition to the family into this world. A lot of you know a lot of congratulatory remarks, you know, people are sending them, you know, robotic body and all that kind of stuff. And that, you know, congratulation and so forth. But let's imagine if the nurse walked in and they're trying to do a screen a hearing test, you know, on eyesight test and they said to us, may Allah protect us anyway, all of us from this and they said that we're sorry to inform you that

your child is blind. Immediately all that happiness is gone in the mirror in the in the matter of a blink of an eye. thing about this mother as Mother has a child

and she keeps on making dua to Allah subhana wa Tada Oh Allah, Oh Allah returned the eyesight of my child, return the eyesight of my child. And this dua, this mother she kept on making dua kept on making dua capital making dua

you know what happened? One day, this lady, she saw Ibraheem Alehissalaam in her dream. And Ibraheem Alehissalaam said to her, that because you kept on making dua to Allah subhanho wa taala. Allah has returned the eyesight of your child. You know which child I'm talking about. This child grew up to be Imam Bukhari Rahmatullah. Yachty. Imam Mohammed. Yes, we're talking about the author of Sai hood Bukhari, the author of an edible muffler and so many other books of Hadith. A you know, a juggernaut when we talk about Hadith and so forth, and amazing personality II mumble hottie, his mother made so much dua for him, and Allah subhanaw taala accepted her dua think about Jacoba his sunnah Jacoba

some made dua for years and years and years, just like the mother Yamahai she made dua to Allah for years and years and years. And then later on Allah subhanho wa Taala he returned, not only Jacoba his snom to

Allah subhana wa Iacobelli ism all the way to Egypt. Not only that, the Quran says that he became blind out of out of his excessive grief for losing use of Allah he said, Allah subhanaw taala will return to his ISA to all that happened after many years. Go back to the story of OMA sunnah model the Allah Tirana OMA cinema when she was migrating to Medina, her her husband and her child, all three of them separated. Can you just imagine a mother being separated from her child? It is the worst thing that can ever happen to her mother. worst thing that can happen to her mother, yet she lived in that kind of situation. You think she was on making dua she was making dua every single day

and the books have said I mentioned that Allah subhanaw taala reunited her with her child and her husband in Medina after one year. That means that

She made dua for one entire year. And then Allah subhanaw taala accepted her dua. The point I'm trying to make is that brothers and sisters, Allah may not accept our eyes right away. But there is something that will come from our dual eyes. And even if Allah subhanaw taala is going to give us what we want, it may happen, it will probably take some time. Once again, we cannot compare ourselves in our status to Jacoba you Sam Iacobelli, Sam was a prophet of Allah. Yet there were so many years, years after years, probably like probably two, three decades that went by that he did not see his son, and it took that much time. So once again, it's very important for us to understand

that Allah subhanaw taala will inshallah accept our two hours but it may take some time. So having said that in sha Allah, I ask Allah subhanaw taala to give us ability to keep on making dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala once again, Allah gets upset when we don't ask him and so keeping that in mind, always ask ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala This is the time for Soho, ask ALLAH SubhanA wa Taala make dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala don't worry about is Allah listening or not Allah is listening, ears and Allah is listening. Yes, we have to keep on making dua and make sure that our life as much as we can we stay away from disobedience and disobeying Allah subhanaw taala as much as I can, the more we

stay away from disobeying Allah subhanaw taala the more we stay away from committing major sins, the more the chances of our dua being accepted are going to be really high. Ask Allah subhanaw taala to accept our to us. May Allah subhanaw taala give us an understanding of what dua means. What does it entail? What are the implications of DUA and ask ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada at the all the doors that we have made? May Allah subhana wa Tada accept them am eurobodalla mean?
