stay at home, most of us are still working from home, stay at home as much as possible. And inshallah Let's hope that we can benefit through reminders of this nature. Now, having said all of that, to you know, switch the switch of optimism and positivity. When when you look around you see that Allah subhanho wa Taala has blessed us with seasons, seasons of goodness, seasons of opportunity, and season after season he blesses us subhanho wa Taala season after season so we're basically moving from one season of goodness to another season of goodness from one season of opportunity to another season of opportunity. So Allah azza wa jal, he blessed us all with the month

of Ramadan and he blessed us to experience the month of Ramadan to witness the month of Ramadan and we sincerely pray that Eliza Virgil blesses us with good health and productive long lives to attain many more Ramadan in the future. I mean,

move to prepare ourselves in a move to educate ourselves. That's why we're discussing all of this we're looking at the guidelines that have been established by the messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam to help us prepare for these special 10 days.

Why because Hajj is specific to the season of Hajj, but these 10 days of the hedger incorporate and include Hajj in them as well. And that's why these days are so powerful. You have all these powerful deeds taking place during these 10 days of the hijjah. You have Salah

obviously because you're you you don't I mean throughout the year it is a season of Salah, no doubt about that. Say I'm fasting it varies right so but then then during these 10 days you will see that it is highly recommended it is from the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu Sallam to fast during the 10 days of the hijjah. There are guidelines with regards to fasting like for example, you can't fast on the 10th day of the ledger. So we're talking about from day one to day nine, it is recommended to fast and at the very least you're supposed to fast on the day of alpha, if you are so we'll talk about it in detail inshallah as we get into the part about fasting. Now with regards to

Salah, we know how important Salah is it is this divine link that is established between us and Allah subhanho wa Taala and my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, it is something that we have to constantly keep working on in terms of our who sure in terms of our whole door in terms of our concentration in terms of our discipline, our focus our levels of spirituality, the inner dimensions of Salah This is something that will constantly keep working on your own. So during these 10 days it's a beautiful season to seize this opportunity to work on our Salah to ensure that we prayed on time to try and offer it in congregation if if in your areas if the you know massage it allows you

to do so I mean if if the situation is not too bad, but otherwise even with your family members you can look at offering the Salah in congregation right so because there's more virtue attached to Salah in congregation. Having said that, you have fasting so with regards to fasting Now interestingly, we have

one narration from Allah the eyeshadow the Allah one however she is reported to have said that

So now based on this Hadith, and the earlier one, you might think and some of you might have you ever come across these narrations and a question could arise as to whether there is a contradiction between these two ahaadeeth. And how are we to reconcile these two a hadith on one hand, you have eyeshadow, the loved one has saying that she never saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu Sallam fasting during the 10 days of the hijab. that I share with your loved one how not seeing the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam fast during these days, that does not necessitate that he never fasted them at all. So basically, this illustrates the beauty and the flexibility of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam always striving to strike a balance from this one way to reconcile these Heidi these two narrations is that it is it is a recommended Suna and there is no harm in not fasting some of the days. therefore, the the affirming statement is given more priority when you have two statements, the one that is affirming is generally given more priority or given more preference over the negating statement. So in this we have two narrations where one narration affirms the practice of the Prophet was the other negates it so at this juncture, we would give priority to the one affirming the practice of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam and along with that, a very beautiful way to reconcile is that it is permissible, it is flexible, where you you know, if you wish to leave some of the days of the fasting, you may do so and you may fast some of the days you know, and involve yourself I mean,

the days that you are not fasting you can involve yourself in other acts of worship, like reading of the Quran, like remembering Allah subhanho, wa Taala and sadaqa and so on and so forth. So, now with regards to the day of our fact,

that here we have many narrations where the Prophet sallallahu Sallam for example, the Hadith is in Muslim, a man comes to the Prophet sallallahu Sallam and he says they are a sort of law. What is your view about fasting on the day of arafa the Prophet sallallahu Sallam his report tribe said I consider it with regards to Allah that it expiate the sins of the previous and the upcoming years. Subhana Allah, do we not need this many brothers and sisters in Islam, we are perpetual sinners, we constantly keep making mistakes. So by by fasting on this powerful day, many brothers and sisters in Islam

what happens is we secure the forgiveness of Allah azza wa jal in another Hadith, the Messenger of Allah said I listen to his report, perhaps a jab or the Allah one who he makes mentioned. The Prophet sallallahu Sallam is reputed to have said, No bet no day is better to Allah than the day of alpha. This is the ninth of the ledger. Allah descends to the lowest heaven and he boasts to the inhabitants of the heavens about the inhabitants of the earth, saying, Look at my servants, they have appeared disheveled and and dusty. They came from every mountain pass, hoping for my mercy. They do not see my punishment yet they do not see that on the day on do not see that on no day are

more saved from the Hellfire than the day of arafah. So the day of arafah many are saved from the fire of jahannam and Allah azza wa jal boasts about the pilgrims gathered on the day of RFI, it's an extremely powerful date. as per this Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam he tells us a lot comes to the lowest Allah descends to the lowest heaven and he boasts about the pilgrims on the day of arafah. I mean, so I mean, the discussion for Hajj perhaps another day in sha Allah. Now moving on to South Africa, these 10 days, my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we have to try and involve ourselves in as much sadaqa as possible and their need is immense. Due to the chaos due to the pandemic, there are so many people,

so many vulnerable individuals, vulnerable families, living you know, bordering Subhanallah on poverty and they're, you know, they're in this very difficult and desperate situation. So it is a time if Allah Subhana Allah has blessed you, you must fulfill your responsibility of that blessing by helping those in need. So throughout the 10 days of del hijjah, you must strive to do as much sadaqa as interest strive to do as many good deeds as possible strive to give out as much sadhaka as possible. And along with that, you have a very important act of charity that is highlighted during these 10 days of the hedger and that is the the sooner of all the hey, yeah. Now hold here My dear

brothers and sisters in Islam is one of the great rituals of our Deen. If not, you may give it in the form of cattle, otherwise, you may give it in the form of sheep or goats along with that a camel or a or cattle can be, you know, shared across seven people because we have a Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that says that you know, a camel or a cow can be shared across seven individuals and 1/7 of it can be given by the person who is supposed to give out. So, ideally,

now, this is the thing just because this permission is in place, we should not fall back on to the bare minimum, you see. So, in terms of an investment in terms of feeding the poor feeding the hungry, in terms of fulfilling this act of worship, if you are able to give out an entire animal then by all means, you must strive to do so, if you can give out to them by all means you must strive to do so, if you can give out three then by all means you must strive to do so, the bare minimum because Think of it this way when it comes to matters of the dunya Do you do we generally settle for the bare minimum? I mean yes, I mean if that's all that you can afford, then by all means

the deen is extremely flexible, you understand? So if that is all that you can afford, then well and good. But do we settle for the bare minimum when it comes to dunya? No, we always strive for the best if you can afford the best you want to afford the best when it comes to dunya there was about an aha but about good days Why are we settling for the bare minimum. So basically what we have to understand is it depends on your capability, if it is the bare minimum that you can afford, then that is something that you fall back on to but otherwise you must strive to give out that which is the best for the sake of Allah for the for the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala. saying there are some scholars like for example, if I'm not mistaken one opinion from Mr. Mohammed Rahim Allah and certain other scholars as well that it is oblique
