Today, I would like to go through some

what exactly happened. Number 1, who were these

messengers?

They were chosen by Allah. As Muslims, we

believe they were always the best of the

time.

00:00:16 --> 00:00:19

Allah would never choose sinful people to lead

00:00:19 --> 00:00:20

the communities.

00:00:20 --> 00:00:22

Allah would never choose those who were not

00:00:22 --> 00:00:24

loved by him

00:00:24 --> 00:00:26

the most in order to be

00:00:27 --> 00:00:30

carrying his message to the rest of us.

00:00:30 --> 00:00:31

So Allah almighty

00:00:32 --> 00:00:34

has chosen these people.

00:00:34 --> 00:00:35

Allah.

00:00:42 --> 00:00:45

A beautiful verse where Allah says, Allah has

selected, carefully chosen

00:00:47 --> 00:00:49

his messengers from the angels and from the

00:00:49 --> 00:00:51

people. So he's chosen them.

00:00:52 --> 00:00:53

So Adam

00:00:54 --> 00:00:55

when he actually

00:00:55 --> 00:00:57

was created by Allah,

00:00:57 --> 00:01:00

there is discussion as to whether he was

00:01:00 --> 00:01:02

over and above being the first of the

00:01:02 --> 00:01:03

species.

00:01:03 --> 00:01:04

Was he actually

00:01:04 --> 00:01:06

a messenger or a prophet?

00:01:07 --> 00:01:09

If you look at it from the aspect

00:01:09 --> 00:01:12

of him having taught his children what Allah

00:01:12 --> 00:01:13

wanted from them, then indeed,

00:01:14 --> 00:01:15

he did have that.

00:01:15 --> 00:01:17

But remember right at the beginning,

00:01:18 --> 00:01:20

there was something that happened in his life

00:01:20 --> 00:01:21

that was

00:01:22 --> 00:01:22

really

a great lesson for all of us. When

00:01:24 --> 00:01:27

Allah told him not to do something, not

00:01:27 --> 00:01:29

to eat from a particular tree, and that

00:01:29 --> 00:01:31

being almost the only prohibition

00:01:32 --> 00:01:34

for him, that's exactly what he ended up

00:01:34 --> 00:01:36

doing. And from this what we learn is

00:01:36 --> 00:01:39

as human beings, we may falter. We may

00:01:39 --> 00:01:41

go exactly into what Allah told us not

00:01:41 --> 00:01:43

to quickly come out of it.

00:01:43 --> 00:01:45

So in Surah Al Araf,

00:01:46 --> 00:01:48

verse number 23, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala speaks

00:01:48 --> 00:01:51

about the words that were used by Adam

00:01:51 --> 00:01:52

and his wife,

00:01:52 --> 00:01:54

Eve or Hawa, may peace be on them

00:01:54 --> 00:01:55

in order

00:01:56 --> 00:01:58

to attain the forgiveness of Allah after they

00:01:58 --> 00:01:59

had sinned.

00:02:13 --> 00:02:15

The 2 of them said, oh, our Lord,

00:02:15 --> 00:02:16

we have wronged ourselves.

00:02:17 --> 00:02:19

And if you don't forgive us and have

00:02:19 --> 00:02:21

mercy on us, we will be from among

00:02:21 --> 00:02:22

the losers.

00:02:22 --> 00:02:25

Allah says, we forgave him, And then Allah

00:02:25 --> 00:02:26

appointed him on earth,

00:02:27 --> 00:02:29

and Allah gave him children and asked him

00:02:29 --> 00:02:31

to guide his children. And Allah promised we're

00:02:31 --> 00:02:34

going to be sending messenger upon messenger.
