If you ask yourself one question, how much time do I invest in learning the Quran every day? How much?

Do I spend more time

in leisure activities

than I spend on the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam learning my Deen?

That's the question that we should ask ourselves.

Because when there is nothing that we face, except that the Quran has the solution for it, Imam Shafi Allahu Anhu when he returned to Mecca

as an accomplished scholar, he said to the people in the helm, he said, ask me any question you have, and I will give you the answer from the Quran.

That's what a scholar does. That's who someone that's what someone who understands the Quran and truly invests in the Quran and trusts the word of Allah, so he invests in it. This is his attitude. Ask me any question you have, and I will get you the answer from the Quran. But a lot of us because we have not invested in the Quran

we're not interested in the Quran.

With problems that face us, at the individual level, at the family level,

at the level of our Ummah, what do we do?

We turn to human made solutions that are mainly made by people who don't believe in Allah.

People who don't care for the actual people who don't believe in it. People who believe that there is only one life and that's it here in this world. People who don't believe in the absolute morality that comes with divine guidance. For them, it's all about pragmatism. And the end justifies the means. We look up to them, because they seem to be more advanced. They seem to be more affluent. They seem to be more influential. We look up to them for the answers. And meanwhile, meanwhile, we turn our backs to Allah and his messenger salAllahu alayhi wa salam. And our attitude reflects a conviction that the Quran doesn't solve our problems, that the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu

alayhi wa sallam doesn't have what it takes to face modern problems.

Could this be could this possibly be the attitude of someone who believes in Allah

then we feel comfortable looking at previous nations and the stories in the Quran and condemn them for the bad choices that they made. While we are guilty of the same thing. And I'm not here to beat ourselves up.

But we need to shake each other, to wake up

to wake up.

Because if you will read the history of the Muslim ummah, and specifically, I want to emphasize the last 300 years of the history of the Muslim ummah, you will find that what is happening today at the individual level, at the family level, and the social level, and at the level of our Ummah, in general has been happening for 300 years, the same story repeats itself almost verbatim.

And we still apply the same solutions,

exactly the same solutions that we have borrowed from people who don't believe in Allah, and people who had some success as an anomaly.

And we resort to their example, to their solutions.

And things and matches get worse in our Oma.

Then, a decade or two passed by we forget that experience. We go ahead to repeat it again. And again, and again. And again and again and again and again.

And every time we go on a hype,

and we are enthusiastic, and we think with some kind of impulse, and some kind of intensity of our feelings, that somehow we can break the rules that Allah placed in this universe to govern

how life works. We think with some passion, we can alter the rules that run the universe that Allah installed in this in his creation.

And we're not learning from the same mistakes.

And we don't, don't we don't have to go into details. We don't have to go into details.

We just have to look into the Quran.

We just have to celebrate it. We just have to appreciate it. And most of us when we do it today, and again, bear with me and forgive me if I'm a little bit harsh here.

The maximum most of us go with the Quran is to try to memorize it to earn the word half of so people can look up to us and respect us. That's it.

The Quran is light. The Quran is guidance. The Quran is the word of Allah who knew everything.

But when we brush over the Quran, when all of our approach to the Quran is about winging that kind of engagement with the Quran, we don't see much we touch on the surface of the Quran, we are unable to tap into the wisdom because if you don't truly trust Allah, if you don't truly believe that Allah has given you something of great value of ultimate value, and you look up to non Muslims, human beings just like you.

And you think that their

thoughts and their means, and their view of the world is superior.

You're not going to invest in the Quran, you're not going to tap into its full potential.

And thus you would live with the impression that our solutions don't have answers in the Quran.

And then what exacerbates this is some people who are usually again the main folk among those who practice Islam they practice Islam with a lot of ignorance and a lot of superficial approach to Islam.

And a lot of show rather than a lot of substance, and these people also give exacerbate the situation by giving the wrong example.

And they think that they can address complex and complicated issues, like matters of the ummah. So what is the solution? Refer things to the experts, to the people of knowledge. Yes, and it takes courage and it takes obedience to hold back with your passion is burning your insides. But you do that for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala you hold back and you don't speak without you don't speak when you don't have the knowledge. You don't act when you don't have the knowledge. This is how the Muslim community the Muslim ummah can be strong can be united.
