my dear brothers and sisters, this series of lectures is is focused at those people, those of us who teach the Quran
This is a great and sacred responsibility
and a series of lectures is to help us to reflect about this, to introspect and to try to ensure that we do this work in a way which will be a source of benefit for us, both in our lives as well as in the ACA and to correct those things which might be there in our teaching in our near in our methodology, which instead of being a source of hire, become a source of problem for us. I want to remind myself when you that to learn the Quran is for us to teach the Quran is not for So, let us not do something which is not for to begin with. problem, because unless we are willing to listen and to reflect, then all the telling in the world cannot get cannot get us anywhere. teaching the Quran is a privilege, it is not a right privilege has to be earned. It is not inherited. privileges come with responsibilities, and they are taken away if you fail to fulfill the responsibility. And taking a privilege for granted is the best way to lose that privilege. So let us think about this, the privilege of teaching the Quran
do we really want this privilege because it comes with responsibilities. And the responsibility is to teach it in the way that the first teacher of it taught it, the one who received the column the way he taught it.
And if you are unable to do that, for whatever reason, then I say it once again. Let us do ourselves a favor. Let us say I will learn the Quran. I will read the Quran, I will follow the Quran, but I will not teach the Quran because I find myself incapable of teaching it in the way of and to keep in keeping with the standard that Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said for us
there are seven critical principles to teaching the Quran I will list them and inshallah we will do a series of this whole lecture series is based on these. My intention of teaching the Quran is to connect the student to Allah Subhana Allah, Allah, Allah Allah.
And to remember very clearly, that you cannot connect, unless you are yourself connected. There's no way that you can connect to Allah, when the current does not pass through you. If you want to connect an appliance to the source of power, you need a copper wire, you need a conductor of electricity, you cannot cannot you cannot connect a an appliance to the source of power using a rope using a threat. You have to have something which conducts the power. And that's what the student is at. That's what the teacher is, is the conductor which connects Allah subhana wa tada to the student. And the third and very important element of ensuring that we have the correct class of Nia
is never to take money to teach the word of Allah. My brothers and sisters, Islam is not a business, keep it free. The Prophet sallallahu Sallam never took money to teach the Quran. And let us not violate the sun after we sell sell him by charging money to teach Quran

We teach students to learn to memorize the Quran, and they don't even understand what they're memorizing. And as it happened, when we looked out of the door of the mother, sir, we saw some chickens grazing in the in the in the yard. So I told the student I said, Look at those chickens. What do you understand about this? Ayah from those chickens? A poor student? I mean, nobody ever asked him this question in his life. He was totally confused. He asked me sir mother, I don't understand what he was saying. What? What does the chicken have to do with the caliber of Allah
says the chicken has everything to do with the Kalam Allah. This is exactly what Allah subhanaw taala is saying to you look around, see my creation and see what I have created, and wonder and glorify me when you see my creation. So I said to him, I said, Tell me what is the chicken eating? He says eating insects and it's eating, you know, things like that. So I said What happened? What will happen to you if you go and eat what the chicken is eating? Supposing The chicken is eating a lizard? What will happen if you eat the lizard? What will happen if you eat those insects? He said I will die. I said you will die true. But the chicken is not dying. And when that chicken after the
chicken has finished eating those lizards and whatever else it's eating, if you
if you slaughter the chicken, and if you cook the chicken and eat it, the willow dies, no I will not die. So as it is this not something that you need to wonder about and think and glorify a lost battle.
Tell about that he created this Buffalo, which can eat something which is poisonous to you, it goes through the system of that knockaloe but when you eat the flesh of that animal, the thing does not harm you. Even though if you are eaten that thing by itself, it would have killed you.
This is the issue of connecting the student to Allah subhanaw taala and this is the, this must be the purpose why we teach how to how can I connect the student to Allah?
When my student learns from me, what is the effect of that on his on his, on his Salah, for example, is the student able to get better also in his Salah when he learns the Quran from me is the students better able to connect with Allah subhanho wa Taala when he learned the Quran for me, this is the this is the last of the Nia that I'm talking about. And my brothers and sisters, I can assure you, I can tell you, I implore you, I beg you I request you do not spoil that class by taking money to teach the word of Allah subhanaw taala Islam is not a business. teaching the Quran is not a job teaching the Quran is not a means of your livelihood. Don't make it a means of your livelihood, it
is the means of earning the agenda of Allah subhanaw taala it is the means of gaining daraga before Allah subhanaw taala it is the means of opening the doors of hedaya for yourself and for for all those who come into contact with do not corrupt that do not spoil that influence by taking money which will destroy all of this. You will get your money, the students may well benefit. I'm not saying the students would benefit the students may well benefit but the benefit to you will be nothing. Allah subhanaw taala causes benefit to come from all sorts of sources. For example, you find you you see a a film on on natural history on biology, of the world of different kinds of
things in the world, which is made by a non Muslim filmmaker. That film reminds us of Los Banos and when I watched this film, I see these these creatures of Allah subhanaw taala. I keep saying Subhan Allah Subhana Allah all the time, but the one who made the film, does he get the benefit of the seeker of Allah subhanaw taala? No, even though his work is causing benefit to others, because this is one of the big arguments that is that is used. People say about you see, after all, it is beneficial. Don't worry about it is beneficial. Even things that are done by people who are not even Muslim are still beneficial. But that does not mean that the person doing that thing is getting any
benefit from it. So I am saying to you, when you are teaching the Quran, focus on yourself and say what is my benefit to it?
What is my benefit from this teaching? How am I benefiting from the teaching? And if the only answer you get is I'm benefiting because I'm getting a fee, then I'm sorry to say you have to seriously ask yourself, Is this why you're teaching the Quran, do not do this to yourself. I request you do not do this to yourself, do not make teaching of the Quran, do not do not corrupt your class with taking money. It's not my opinion. This has been the opinion of everybody from the masala salam to the Sahaba to all our Salah Sally, who have all unanimously agreed that money corrupts and money spoils the class of the near money and fame. These are the two major spoilers of the class of the year. And
that is why I request you do not fall into this trap. Teach only and only for the pleasure of Allah subhanaw taala teach to connect the student to Allah subhanaw taala and teach because you
are focused on how you will benefit from this teaching. I ask Allah subhanaw taala to be pleased with you and to make it easy for you to do this in a way that is pleasing to Him and to make this hugely hugely beneficial for you in your dunya while akhira was Allah Allah Allah will carry while he was savage when we refer to God
