Step 4:
Love of Allah

Love of Allah is a condition of Imaan. It is a sign of the believers. “The people of faith are the people who love Allah more than anything else!”

“Say to them that if they love their parents, children, spouses and business…. More than they love Allah, Rasul (Saw) and jihad then wait for the punishment of Allah. Allah does not guide the people who are rebellious….”

The reason we love dunya is not because we consciously do it but because we have grown up in a system which teaches that our well-being is linked to that which is shallow and materialistic. But as Muslims we should know that our well-being is linked to Allah and Islam.

Love of Allah is unlike anything else. It is expressed only in obedience to Allah through sujood. Increase your sajdah! The life of a Muslim is a life in sajdah! Entire life is in obedience to Allah (swt). Muslims do not ask about small sins and big sins. We should care more about displeasing Allah rather than the severity of the sin.

How do we gain the love of Allah? We strive in obedience to Him (swt).
So what is the root to expressing the love of Allah? Following the Sunnah of Rasul (saw). Do not leave the Sunnah if you want Allah to love you!

What happens when Allah loves the individual?

“When Allah loves a person, He calls Jibreel and says: ‘I love So and so, so love him.’ So Jibreel loves him, then he calls out to the people of heaven, ‘Allah loves So and so, so love him.’ So the people of heaven love him and he finds acceptance on earth. If Allah hates a person, He calls Jibreel and says: ‘I dislike So and so, so dislike him.’ So Jibreel dislikes him, then he calls out to the people of heaven: ‘Allah dislikes So and so, so dislikes him.’ So they dislike him and he is disliked on earth.”

Popularity comes by pleasing Allah (Swt)

“My slave comes so close to me by fulfilling his obligatory and then his sunnah…until I begin to love him

This doesn’t happen automatically! It will happen only by efforts with Ibadah to please Allah!
