if you are on the path of righteousness, the single most reliable sign of that is that you

will get pushback, you will get resistance, people will be against you.

And that is why you need steadfastness. Because if you say something, and if people resist that, and you give up, then goodness will not spread. If you want goodness to spread, then you have to stick to that no matter what people are saying, even if you are the only person doing it, you have to stick to that.
