And inshallah, if we receive that guidance, as we said, we will receive the greatest blessing and this dunya that will stay with us, both in this life and in the Hereafter, when we meet Allah subhanho wa Taala, who is Maliki or Medina.

And if we have this blessing, both in this life and in the Hereafter,

actually, no harm will be able to come to us from anyone or from anything

harm in the Sharia sense. And the sense of what actually harms the individual and his soul. We're not talking about maybe losing things of the material world. But for the real believer for the one who has real guidance from Allah subhanho data that does not is not equivalent to harm. So as long as when the person is on that straight path shala he will not be harmed, especially by those people who wish to follow any other path.

And again, I'm not trying to critique the translations or claim that I know a better way to translate it but you'll see clearly

in the translations, there's something missing.

So that we will follow that path, there's a big difference between knowing and seeing what the path is.

And having that will to follow that.

So as I said, all of these translations, whether it is show us the path or guidance to the path, there are only actually covering a small part of what the verse means. And if someone, for example, if someone just relies on those translations, and that's what's in his heart, when he makes this do it is not in his heart is not making the complete what he should be asking for.

And this shows us once again that we should not rely on because this is of course the Quran and the Sunnah of the prophet SAW said, this is the basis of our Deen and we should not rely on for example, just a simple translation of some of the meanings of the Quran.

First of all, no other language, no other language is going to be able to convey what the Quran actually says. And there's always going to be failures, there's always going to be shortcomings. And there might also be mistakes.

But even beyond that, we have to go through study what the words actually mean turn to the books of tafsir turn to the guidance of the scholars to understand really what the Quran is saying.

now that we have a better understanding

of what we mean when we say the Muslim claim that we're asking Allah subhana wa Taala for knowledge of the straight path we're asking Allah subhana wa tada to help us to have the will and the intent to follow that straight path. And we're asking Allah subhanaw taala to give us the ability to follow the straight path. All of that is captured in Dennis little stocking.

And as we said, also, it covers not just present and future it even covers what we did in the past. Guidance with respect to the actions that we've already done and what we should do to correct them and so forth. So once the entire nature

of the job is understood, and what we're really asking for is understood, then it's very clear to understand why Allah subhana wa Taala has ordered us to make this

over and over again.

Because we are always in need of guidance. No matter how much guidance actually that we already have. No matter how much and shallow we are along the straight path. We're always in need of guidance. Because every moment every step we take, there's options to do something maybe halal maybe haram maybe we don't know what is the ruling from Allah subhanaw taala.

So in every moment, we are in need of guidance.

In fact, turning maybe five times to Allah subhanho wa Taala and and repeating this job, this is completely understandable. And in fact, if we did not have this command from Allah subhanaw taala perhaps we would have understood ourselves that we should turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala continuously and ask Allah subhana wa Taala for decades.

Between we make dua to Allah subhana wa tada and of course this is a

we should not make the dua to Allah subhanho wa Taala.

And then simply expect the results without any effort on our part.

Even though it does the job,

we should not just expect the list of Hannah with data to answer our drought without any efforts on our part. And in fact, one of the signs that you are sincere in your door,

one of the signs that you really want, the thing that you asked for is that you tried to follow all the steps and all the causes that you can find, to bring about that, to bring about what you asked and that. then you don't just sit and hope for something to come. But you also try to do what you can to bring it about.

If we take a different kind of case,

And even if he believes firmly that Allah subhanho wa Taala is a rose up

because he is so desirous of having that thing that he may die.

He'll do anything that he can that he knows is within his ability to fulfill that job.

So what about when we turn to Allah subhana wa tada and we asked Allah subhanaw taala for guidance.

Same thing, by the way with respect to forgiveness,

there are causes that are seen in the Hadith and so forth,

that will inshallah lead to Allah's forgiveness. And there are causes that will lead

to Allah subhanho wa Taala his guidance

so as a sign that we want to we are sincere about this drive to Allah subhanho wa Taala. And we want Allah subhana wa tada to answer it, then we should be seeking those causes and those things that will help us get that goal that we desire.

Actually, there's some lines of poetry, as I said, that's actually related to forgiveness, but it is also completely relevant to what we're talking about here when we make dua for guidance.

The lines, and I know it's very rare to hear me recite poetry, but here goes

So let's take the first aspect of being shown the straighter so we turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala and we say that almost nothing. Now we're talking about just this aspect of a diet. So I'll use that translation, show us the straight path, we want to know what is the straight path what is the knowledge of the streets

and with respect to this aspect of guidance, what is the most obvious answer to what is the straight path

obviously, it is the Quran and the Sunnah of the possessor.

So when we ask Allah subhana wa tada it denotes that almost nothing.

The first level is knowledge of the state that and that state that is contained in the Quran and Sunnah.

Now when you make that,

suppose you make that draw and it's clear, I mean, every Muslim inshallah knows that. For example, the Quran is a book of guidance

that Allah subhana wa tada has revealed this book, to guide mankind. So if you are saying that hamdulillah I am a Muslim, and I know that the book The Quran is the book of guidance, and you are making dua to Allah subhanaw taala and say, Dennis wrote almost nothing. And yet you never study the Quran.

And I don't mean just read it to get better color or read it to get 10 rewards for each letter that you read. All those things, of course, are true and important. But if you never turn to the Quran, to get guidance,

then what is that saying about the dog that you're making? What is that saying about how sincere and how seriously you yourself are taking that dog

That you're making.

You're asking Allah to show us the straight path. And in fact, if you do open the Quran, as soon as you finish the Fatiha, what does Allah subhana wa Taala tell you that he Kalki tabula rasa Buffy, who then Wu token.

Allah subhanho wa Taala says that this is the book concerning which there is no doubt guidance for those people who have.

So as soon as you open the book

is captured in the Koran.

And the more serious you are in this job, the more sincere you are in this job, the more you will turn to the forum.

So that's with respect to the first form of guidance, as we said, showing us the script that's giving us like the directions what is the straight path.

The second aspect of course, is where Allah subhanho wa Taala puts the guidance into our hearts

and makes us from the people of guidance makes us devoted to guidance, following the guidance, having the will and intention and the love for that guidance. And also, there are some ascribe some causes also that we should turn to and try to benefit from to also get this guidance from a listener that

Who is deserving of Allah guidance? If you've never thought about that,

then again this might be a sign that you have not thought enough about what you're saying when you say it Dennis adoptables nothing

And one of the key things here is to turn away from or to turn away from living your life in such a way that it has no purpose or you're not fulfilling the purpose that you have already made a covenant with Alyson Hanna with God.

doesn't make any sense. You turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala for guidance. It's not conditional, right? guidance is guidance. You're either on it or you're not.

So when you turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala. At the very least, your intention is whatever that guidance applies. You want to have that want and that desire to do it.

This is what I mean by repentance as a very important step of getting the guidance from all those men with that. It means turning to Allah subhanho wa Taala within sincere intent of whatever the guidance implies, whatever it implies, that's what you want.

So whatever Allah subhanaw taala says is good, and whatever Allah loves, that's what you want. That's what you love. And whatever Allah subhanho wa Taala says is bad. Whatever Allah subhanho wa Taala is displeased with. That's what you are displeased with. That's what you want to avoid. Even if you fall into doing it sometimes.

As I said, because everyone is going to commit sin, sometimes everyone's going to commit mistakes. You're still abhorrent, even when you do it. And you want to be away from those actions that you're doing.

This is the very minimum because otherwise, if you're saying I'm Dennis about the Muslim game,

and you're saying Guide us to the straight path, but not all the straight bat, not all those things.

What kind of job is that? It's not a serious job.

Because basically you're saying, Okay, leave me the way I am. And maybe if you want to prove me a little bit here, there, but otherwise leave all of these things.

So this is not a real asking Allah Subhana Allah for guidance

is not a sincere and complete asking Allah subhanho wa Taala for guidance.

Secondly, we also have seeking of knowledge.

And knowledge, of course, it's very important on both levels. We already talked about the fact

that if you want to know what is the path, just see what the path is that involves knowledge, right? That involves knowledge to see that this is, this is haram. This is what you should do every day. This is what you shouldn't do this is this is knowledge. But at the same time, there's something else about knowledge. And that is the knowledge.

If it is real, if it penetrates your art, it will have an effect.

It'll have an effect on your actions. It will have an effect on your behavior with a listener and with that,

if the knowledge really penetrates your heart, and penetrating Your heart is part of the guidance that we're asking for, from Allah subhana wa tada Allah subhanho wa Taala says, In the Yorkshire lambing Abadi Hill lemma,

that it is the people of knowledge who have the real fear of Allah subhanaw taala.

In fact, in some of the books of diversity, we'll find some of the early scholars saying that only the Ummah will antigen,

because they're the only ones who have the real fear of Allah subhanaw taala. But who are the Lama, they're the people who have the knowledge and their knowledge and to their heart, and they apply that knowledge.

This is what is meant by Allah, Allah is not someone who has memorized 500 books,

or something of that nature. But the allameh are those people who get the knowledge, and then they apply it in their lives, they might not have a great deal of knowledge. But at least they have the knowledge that they need to guide their lives.

So one aspect of knowledge is that aspect of knowing what is right what is wrong.

That is one part of guidance that we were referred to. But here we're talking about also making that knowledge come into our hearts and affect us.

And as I've spoken here, or close to here, on many occasions, knowledge is something that takes effort and general

knowledge is something that takes effort.

If you really are serious about getting knowledge, whether it is first that basic knowledge of what is right what is wrong, and then have it further go into your heart and really affect you. This knowledge takes effort.

And if you're serious, when you're asking Allah subhanaw taala to guide you, you should be serious about it for getting the knowledge

that you need to be guided.

If you look through the different ideas through the process,

you'll find that the power system is always showing us that basically, to get knowledge, you have to follow a path, you take some effort, you have to exert something.

In fact, the prophet SAW Selim said in the Milan norbiton, that knowledge is through learning.

Knowledge is actually only through intimate

knowledge is only through learning. You have to exert.

And in fact, the different Hadeeth as I said, when I when the officer said, I'm referred to knowledge, he, in most cases, he's talking about like following a path exerting yourself, like in the heads in which the promises of them said man Celica 30, can you tell me Sophie elmen sallallahu Turrican iljin, the one who follows a path, seeking in its knowledge, then Allah subhanho wa Taala will make easy for him a path to gender.

sometimes very useless information. For example, if you go to the Internet, and you want to know something, sometimes you have to go through a lot of steps and you have to be patient. If you want to get the latest cricket scores, right? You have to go through the right websites. If that's down, you have to find another website and search here and there wants to get the best price on the car that you're you know, how much is this car worth? Is anyone else selling it cheaper, you have to go through all these steps. And people are willing to take this effort to get that kind of knowledge. And they're very clever when it comes to getting that kind of knowledge.

They know now how to use the internet. They know how to email someone to get other websites and hook up and do this and that. And then when it comes to the Islamic question of basic Islamic question, then all of a sudden they act like they have no tools.

They have no means of getting knowledge whatsoever.

The most basic question that's in the most basic book in the library, they can't even figure out how will I get the answer to this question

and the reason for it is because they've never been willing to put in the effort to follow those same kinds of steps that you get this other kind of knowledge. Well, sometimes also there's certain steps you follow on inshallah you like you read certain books, if you turn to hopefully reliable website and so forth.

Shallow you will get the same but people are willing to put steps into one and effort into one but many times they are not willing to put effort into into the

third aspect. A cause inshallah, that will help you get guidance from Allah subhanho wa Taala is increasing one's Amen.

To do what one can do to get a man and increase Amen.

Now remember, when we talk about guidance, we're talking about something very comprehensive, right?

And we're talking about guidance for every second for every moment for every new situation and so forth.

So obviously, when we say increasing one's Amen,

We have to believe in Allah subhanho wa Taala, for example, and we have to believe in what Allah subhanho wa Taala has revealed, and our belief in it must be very certain. Some people believe in God but they don't believe for example, what Allah subhanho wa Taala has revealed.

And so therefore, they do not benefit from what Allah subhanaw taala has revealed they do not give guidance.

But secondly, we have to always look for ways that we can increase our demand, increase our belief,
