And so I want you to be the hermit in your circle of influence. Let people begin to pray because they see you praying.

When you see people skipping prayer or hiding their prayer, when you go to school you pray in public. When you see sisters start taking off their hay job, or showing their bangs or their neck, you wear your hijab more tightly. You show the people that I'm happy of being a Muslim, I am proud of the symbols of Islam.

Be the hammer in your circle of influence, you may not be able to lead the Ummah and be Rama for all of mankind, but you could at least be Rama, be a guide be a source of strength for Muslims in your workplace or your school. Because we live in a time brothers and sisters when it's difficult, it's hard. And we see people every day struggling and they need a symbol of hope they need someone they could attach to right nowadays, unfortunately the the our role models have have flipped, who we take as as our examples in our guides who we learn our religion from, you know, when we choose to follow someone we check first, how many followers do they have on Instagram?

How many followers do they have on Twitter, and the social media personalities, these activists maybe we take them now as our source for our religion.

But they've been sitting alone Tada. He sees us relate about humanity

principle that you have to know, a principle that you can't forget.

we see that we see that they're given a public platform, and so we, we, we gravitate towards that, but we have to understand that our religion comes from people of knowledge, not those who have the numbers. So let your influence be taken from those who are appropriately they should be taken from and then let you take that and bring that to the other people. Let you be that example for the people around you, you know, this Islamophobia machine, right, millions and millions of dollars are spent to make people afraid of a stem right? Do you know who is the number one target of the islamophobes? Who, whose minds do they want to influence the most? Have you ever thought about that?

Who do you think?

You know, if Joe Blow down the street,

says, Yeah, these Muslims are terrorists, man, these Muslims are backwards. Do they bring him on TV and give him some airtime on CNN?

on fox news?

Do they give him a book deal?

Do they start inviting him around the country to speak at how backwards Muslims are?

They don't.

But what happens when a person named Abdullah Ahmed

starts saying the same things. Muslims are backwards, I was a Muslim myself, I know them inside and outs.

Then all of a sudden, he's plastered all over the news channels. He gets every radio show and every talk show.

He gets booked deals and he makes he makes us his fame. He makes his money.

But why do Why does he get that attention?

You see a sama phobia. The number one target is actually you and i,

you and i,

to get us to hate ourselves, to get us to look in the mirror. And when we see the beard, when we see the hijab, when we see these symbols, when we see someone praying, when we see a Masjid, we say this isn't the place for the Muslims.

And it's working.

And you and I are beginning to embrace a change,

whether knowingly or unknowingly, that's now slowly creeping out and further and further into the mainstream Muslim society. So we have to be careful brothers and sisters, we have to be careful. But they are the people that don't like Islam. Love When this happens, you know, when I talked about the Sahaba, having an aura about them, there was a companion by the name Abdullah dafa of the Allahu Allah and who, who was in the amongst the Muslims who set out to battle, and he was taken as a prisoner of war. Now guys are the leader of the Romans, he heard about the Sahaba. And how that this world can't get to them, that their focus is Al Qaeda, their eyes are kept on the prize that they

love the Messenger of Allah, like no one else. And so he wanted to test their fortitude. He said, Is there a Sahaba? Is there a man who was a companion of the prophet who was amongst the prisoners of war? And they were told, yes, we have a man. So he said, Bring him to me. So they brought him to the king.

And he says, I'm gonna cut you a deal.

I'm going to give you half of my kingdom.

Half of my kingdom, if you become a Christian.

He says,

I'm the loving haha he tells him in response that if you were to give me all of your kingdom, and the kingdom of the whole world, mattock, to Dina Mohammed interfor time, I will not leave the religion of monocytes on him, even for the blink of an eye. He said, Okay, fine.

And they told him to eat it. And he said, No. Now is he allowed to eat it?

Does Islam allow him to eat it in this situation?

The King knew that. And so when he refused, the king brings them and he says, Why don't you eat the pork and drink the wine when your religion has allowed you to do so?

You know what he said in response? He said something very powerful. He says, I'm in the Alamo and Medina Hello, Javier in the default mode. He says, I understand I know that my religion allows me to do these things in a case of need to stop me from dying. I know that.

And if

that for every hair on my body,

So Abdullah went and kissed him on his forehead. And all the Muslims were set free and they went back to Medina. He said, this is a comment upon every single Muslim, that you will go and kiss the forehead of Abdullah for what he did for all the Muslims and he says well, that will be dannic

And they're trying their best to stay strong on Islam. And this is a repetition of history. When we look at Muslim Spain for 800 years, the Muslim rule there, and when the time the Christians took over, when they first took over the Muslims, they were promised security, they were promised you could practice your religion, you can, you know, be free to be Muslims. But we have the power now. And they agreed.

But it was within eight years that all of this changed. And they began the Spanish Inquisition. And they banned the hijab, they banned the beard, they forced people to convert to Christianity.

And soon, if anybody was heard saying Arabic words, they were taken to prison or killed. If a Muslim was seen taking a shower, if someone was seen taking a shower on Thursday or Friday, they would take that he is a Muslim, and they would imprison him or kill him. And Muslims have to go undercover, they became known as the moriscos. The Secret Muslims and Subhanallah, you know, there was a sister, and one of the African countries who was working on translating some of these old manuscripts, because what happened was they banned the Arabic language. They banned the Arabic language. So Muslims, all the books, there was a library with over 1 million books that was burned. So the most

Like this, add that within our religion. For example, when you make your heart you face the Fibonacci, right. When you read a quote on your face, circle, you have all these kinds of things. So if you're praying and somebody walks by, you can pick up the Bible and it looks like you were reading the Bible.

And it became a tradition that the Christians followed after the religion was lost. You know, there was a third.

When I went to Spain last year, and I got to see some of these things in tour some of these things. There's a brother who was giving us the history and Mashallah he takes tours for different groups that come in. And he was telling us that there was a brother He knows who is a third or fourth generation Muslim. And when he first met him, he said, I know almost all this a small community. I must know all the Muslims here.

And you know what the brother said, he said, You know, my great grandmother, when she was on her deathbed

when she was on her deathbed, she called her son

and said, Come here, I have to tell you something.

And she said, You can't tell anyone.

And but I want you to teach it to your children. Later when they get older.

She said we are the descendants of the moriscos the secret Muslims.

And she says I know nothing about this religion.

I know nothing about Sanaa's, Liam's the guy. I don't nothing. The only thing I remember I was taught from the religion that we our forefathers used to practice

And so this man,

he went to Morocco, the nearest Muslim country.

And he researched what what this was, he found out about Islam and he embraced, he came back to what his forefathers were on and he embraces that.

And now his kids are Muslim and his great grandkids and the brother who met his great great great grandchild as a Muslim. But this is what they went through brothers and sisters. What are we giving up our religion for? Why are we shy or scared to hold on to our religion? You know,

I'll wrap up my talk with sharing with you a couple of things.

After the prophets I send them died.

There was a man who had gained a lot of popularity and following him perhaps some of you've heard of him his name, his name is Mustafa Malika.

And so the Sahaba were set out to to fight him. And he says, Islam and

You are the follower of a religion that teaches justice that teaches compassion, teaches mercy that teaches brotherhood and sisterhood that teaches that you give you love for yourself, love for your brother, what you love for yourself that teaches you to sacrifice and give preference to others over your own self that teaches you to show mercy to the cats and the dogs and the birds of the society.
