I have a friend of mine,

who I've known my entire life.

And my entire life, his father has been smoking cigarettes.

My friend became a very practicing Muslim.

And as much as he tried to encourage his family to adopt better behavior, one thing that he could never get his father to stop doing was smoking cigarettes.

And on one occasion, recently, I was talking to my friend on the phone, and he said to me, guess what I said what? He said, My Father, quit smoking, said Allahu Akbar. His father is in his 70s. He's been smoking since he was a teenager. That's over 60 years of smoking cigarettes. What made your father stop? He said, My father's older brother.

He has an older brother, even though he's in his 70s. He has an older brother, who he loves and respects so much. Just like he was his hero when they were kids. He remained his hero his entire life.

And so he said, his brother lives in a different state. He came, and he visited us and spent a couple of weeks with us. And before he left, he was going to leave the next day. He said, My mom came to me. And she whispered to me privately, and she said, before your uncle leaves tomorrow,

talk to him privately, and ask him to tell your dad to stop smoking cigarettes. And my friend said, I can't do that. It's not my place. It's inappropriate for me to impose myself like that. She said, No, just do it. He said, Okay.

So he went and he talked to his uncle. He said, Before you leave, can you just talk to my dad and tell him to quit smoking? He said, Okay, I will.

And while they were at the airport, when they were bidding farewell, his uncle pulled his dad aside.

And he said to him, I am completely pleased with you.

I am completely happy with you. If you could just do one thing for me, said What is it anything? He said, quit smoking cigarettes.

He said done.

And he didn't smoke cigarettes since.

And I thought to myself when he was telling me this story, what incredible rapport must this brother have with his younger brother, what incredible love admiration respect this brother has for his older brother, that when he commands him, not even a command makes a request, he immediately response. And he changes lifestyle habits, that he never was able to change because of the request, and not wanting to disappoint someone that he loves so much.

That say,

if you know the commander, the commands become easy.

When you know the commander, the commands become easy, not even in our lives. When I was in kindergarten, I would have to explain to other kindergarten students why I wasn't able to switch my tuna sandwich for their salami sandwich or their ham sandwich. And I would explain to them that I'm not I'm not allowed to do that. And they will say why Allah doesn't allow it.

And they say, Well, why does Allah care? And then when you got to middle school, and people started today, you'd have to explain why you're not able to date girls and have a girlfriend by seventh grade or sixth grade or eighth grade. And you would say, Allah doesn't allow it and then when you got to middle and high school and people start drinking, Allah doesn't allow it and then when you get to university and even more things are opened up. You are navigating and avoiding and staying away from things that are Shaohua their desires.

They're, they're pleasurable, and everybody else is racing to indulge in them. And you say, I'm not going to indulge because Allah subhanaw taala doesn't allow it. And when you graduate from university and even more of the world is opened up, because now you have money and you have things that you have interest and you have other things that you can take advantage of.

Still, you say Allah doesn't allow it. And the question remains the same. Why? Would you refrain from doing something that is an opportunity? Why do you refrain from desires? And why do you refrain from

You know, if you meet a father, and you ask him and you say, How many kids do you have? If he says anything more than two? He's at the risk of people saying, Look, well, that's a lot. That's a lot of kids.

And people say things like, that's a lot of mouths to feed, a lot of mouths to feed.

Okay, how many miles does Allah feed

a billion people every day wake up. And they've got dreams and aspirations and problems and concerns and needs. And Allah subhanho wa Taala provides for them. And then the creatures that we know exist and those that we don't know, to exist, Allah subhanaw taala provides for all of them. He is the love boulard I mean, and when you are bending over in your record and saying Subhana Allah be allow them. I want you to appreciate the greatness of this Lord that You are bowing down to.

We believe that Allah Subhana Allah, God is love. And he is my rock

so intimately and privately, but he is the rub of everyone else, just as beautifully and just as perfectly. We believe that Allah Subhana Allah God is perfect in all of his attributes.

Everything that we've heard about Allah from Allah or from his messenger cellulitis is completely perfect. Allah is perfect in his knowledge.

Who wants good for me? And so the prophets of Allah Islam says Ajibade movement in

a popular question that I get is, why do and many of you I'm sure have heard before, why do bad things happen to good people? And the answer to that is bad things don't happen to good people. Because the province of Florida has said them said, amazing is the affair of the believer. Everything that happens to the believer is good. That's only for the believer. Because if something good happens to them, they are

thankful and that is better for them. And if something unpleasant, undesired painful happens to them, they are patient and that is better for them. They understand that Allah subhanho data says the good and the bad as tests. And so the consequences if I am patient are always going to be good. It's only to lift me it's never to break me.

I recognize that ALLAH SubhanA diatas Mannerheim so we believe about Allah, that he is what

And when everyone else is following a lifestyle,
