all praise and thanks belong to Allah the Most High we thank him and we seek His help and aid and we asked him that he forgives us and we seek His refuge from the evil of ourselves in the sense that we commit. Indeed whomsoever Allah guides, no one can lead us astray. And whomsoever Allah leads astray, no one can guide and I've ever witnessed that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah alone and that Mohammed sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is his slave and messenger. Indeed, the best of speech is the book of Allah. And the best of guidance is that of habits of Allahu Allah He was in them. And the words of religious matters are those that are innovated. Every religious innovation is
a bit of an every bit is misguidance and was very misguided and so being held right
We are, as you know, in the month of chabanne few days away from the blessed month of Ramadan.
And for us to understand what the month of Shaban means and how we should be in it, what state we should be in. In this particular month, we have to understand it in relationship to the month of Ramadan, and in particular to the relationship to our relationship to the month of Ramadan.
If we were to pause for a second and ask ourselves, what is it that we love about the month of Ramadan? You go back to the last Ramadan were the ones that you know passed before and ask yourself what is it that I loved so much about it.
And one thing that the month of Ramadan does is that it restores a balance to our life balance that we seem to miss and corrupt and Miss located in the rest of the for a lot of us. Because for the last rest of the year, life throws at us, all of its weight, all of its concerns, all of its priorities. It's asked us to worry about our careers, our businesses, our families, different types of priorities. It stresses us out and we are engulfed, we are withdrawn into its concerns. And we forget we've got a lot of things. Forget sometimes about our families we forget sometimes about a lot that greeted us. A lot of times we forget about our own selves and what we actually need who we
are strange to hear that we forget about our own selves when we are constantly thinking about it, but we're not thinking about the most important thing. I like a person who suffers from a disease and busies himself or herself shopping for instance forgets about the disease that he or she has. This is a person who has forgotten about the most important thing that he or she is going through forgotten about himself forgotten about first
Self. So the month of Ramadan comes in it does something that is vital because it reconnects us with the most important thing in this life reconnects us with what was what, what is lasting, what would be everlasting with what is permanent. And it also reconnects us with our fitrah with our own inner self so that we can understand ourselves again. So there is a balance that Ramadan brings us brings to us a balanced as I said that we lose in the rest of the year.
So there is a transition. In the month of Ramadan, there's a state a particular state in the month of Ramadan, that is different from other states. That's why the messengers So a lot of you it will send them you know, as he said, in one Hadith, Ramadan, Ramadan can meet up at FEMA, but you know, manage to get by Ramadan and Ramadan from one Ramadan to another Ramadan, it will forgive the sins that are in between as long as a person avoids the major sins. So there's a state special to Ramadan, that is different from the rest of the year. And for a new state to be introduced, we need a transition. any state in life, when you move from one state to another state, you need a
transition, a buffer, when you wake up from your sleep, you don't wake up immediately refreshed, you transition, when you go to sleep, you also transition anything in life, you need to transition to it. And for a lot of us, that transition unfortunately happens in Ramadan.
And in fact, it should be before a mother.
Let's give me I'll give you an example. So that you know, we can relate to this a little bit better.
If there was a king, or let's say, if we don't have kings, or many kings today, a rich person who decides to be very generous, and he says, I'm opening the doors of my Treasury and everybody can come and pick up whatever they want of it. coins, dollars, precious metals, whatever they want on a particular day. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is invited.
Would we wait to that day for us to start preparing for what we're going to do? Or will we take preparations days or even weeks in advance? so that we understand exactly what travel we're gonna take to that location? Exactly. When are we going to go we're going to set not one alarm or two alarms, five alarms, because if you miss that opportunity, then you miss it.
We will plan that would be to be the first in line we will take will know how many bags to take with us what kind of food we're going to eat, we will strategize, you will bring your entire family I'm sure if you're interested in that offer, you will go to this side, you will go to that side, every one of us will take and take whatever we can you will strategize and prepare days or weeks in advance
if that thing is important to you. In fact, this is what we do with everything that is important in our life, isn't it? If it's important enough for you, you will prepare for it. You will plan ahead and we will tend to blame ourselves and blame others when they fail to plan for important things in their life who fault them for being careless.
Compare that to another person or would you like to be that person who on that particular day where you can collect all the coins and all that money that you can accept plates and then only then start to say what route Am I going to take? Who is going to come with me? How much am I going to take and by the time that he or she actually makes it to that location he will find it to be overcrowded and probably empty. Now the treasure is of Allah subhana wa tada never empty and know nothing and no one will empty them. And the grace of Allah subhanho wa Taala and his mercy are open. But the month of Ramadan is that month where the gates of Allah subhanho wa Taala open from the beginning from the
first day and a loss of Hanover Dallas's savable in the middle of the race towards a loss forgiveness towards Allah bounty Are you on my Are we all of us are going to still adjust to the month of Ramadan when the month of Ramadan starts still labor with the pains of fasting, still labor right with or transition into reading the Quran. So on the first day instead of us actually being prepared and reading perhaps ages also reading one page or two and saying still I'm not ready yet I need to build up my stamina. I mean, they need to build up my ability my habit to reading the Quran, and you will see that with a lot of us during the month of Ramadan starts. We don't yet have that
habit. We don't yet have that habit of reading the Quran. We don't have the habit of praying at night. We don't have yet that habit of fasting
so we need to change
And then when that transition happens by the time we actually are used to it and have the strength it's about the middle of Ramadan or the last 10 days of Ramadan we've wasted a good deal of Ramadan just getting used to Ramadan itself.
It's like that person who waited to prepare for the most important day on that important day.
And let's see what it was the example of the messengers of Allahu Allah you it wasn't
Saddam Hussein notice something about the messenger
and he asked him about it. He said yeah, Rasul Allah in America so mommy Sharon masumi Siobhan says messenger of Allah, I haven't seen you fast from a month as much as you fast from chabang. You're fasting a lot in the month of Shabbat more than any other month of course, except Ramadan.
For Cod, in Oceania, una Sabina Raja bien, Ramadan, it says, this is a month that people overlook, it's between Raja and Ramadan. So this is the first reason he gave well Shahada.
Allah, for your family sign
says and it is a month where the record of our deeds is going to be brought up to the Lord of all creation. And I love that my record would be raised when I am fasting.
So the habit of the messenger of the messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was what? That he would fast most of Shabbat almost all of Shabbat. And he gave two reasons for this and there is beautiful in them. The first one is that this is a month that people neglect and do not think about, they just finished Roger and Roger is a sacred month. And they're anticipating Ramadan so that they overlook shot ban. So there's a thing in it that people in a place or a time overlook the remembrance of Allah subhana wa Taala it's recommended that you remember Allah there and then so that no time and no space is empty of the remembrance of Allah subhana wa tada even if you have to do it alone, even
if you're alone, it does not matter. So you said they neglected and I like to enliven it with remembering Allah subhana wa tada with fasting This is the first thing. The second thing The second reason given is that there is a record that is being sent to Allah Subhana Allah and annual account where your deeds are being raised to Allah subhana wa Taala and inspected and accepted or rejected. That happens this month. This is when it happens just before the month of Ramadan happens.
And showing gratitude to Allah subhana wa tada and also showing humility, great humility so that when Allah looks at us, and when he looked, in the case of the messenger sallallahu sallam, when he looked at him, he saw him fasting, closely worshiping Allah subhanho wa Taala. And hope that allowed except our his deeds, the Prophet would fast
and so that we thought if we want to follow his example, we would also be fasting and hope that Allah subhana wa tada would accept our deeds that are being raised to him right now, in this month.
So in anticipation for the month of Ramadan, the messenger salallahu alayhi wa sallam would engage in worship, and wouldn't be a sudden, it wouldn't be abrupt. It wouldn't be all of a sudden when Ramadan comes now I'm starting to worship Allah. Now I'm starting to read the Koran because as I said, your body yourself need adjustment. You need to build up stamina like anything else in life and you need to transition. And when you transition to it in Ramadan, you're starting to waste Ramadan. And you know, I and you and all of us cannot afford to waste any man in it or any day of Ramadan. If we are truly believing that Allah subhana wa tada is doing something marvelous and
something that doesn't happen the rest of the it doesn't happen.
The gates of Paradise are open. Remember the example of that those gates are the doors of the rich person these are the gates of heaven are open and the gates of Hellfire are closed. And Allah subhanaw taala changed your fiercest enemy or shavon
whizzing down so that he does not bother you as much but does not whisper to you as much and ally is telling you race go
so if it's important for us, for me and for you, we would want as soon as ramadan ramadan come to raise towards Allah Subhana Allah
for the holy lie Do you want to confess
In Hamden, Kathie
Lee was Sandy manasu Lee Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa aalihi wa sahbihi hiromichi been
one other virtue that belongs specifically to the month of Shaban and another Hadith, the messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says the affiliate Allahu energem a healthy feeling that in swimming shabang Allah subhana wa tada looks at all of his creation, and the night of the middle of shabang fail and thoroughly Jamie I helped a Illa Lucia came along
and he forgives all of his creation except for to one guilty of ship
or one guilty of feuding with others. That is the meaning of moonshine.
So there is great forgiveness that is coming toward us still, the middle of Shabbat did not come yet. So there's great forgiveness that is coming towards us. But the only two categories of people who will be exempted from that forgiveness. And if it's important for us we want to understand who will be exempted and denied that forgiveness and why. The first one is the
one who is guilty of shame
as important brothers and sisters when we hear this not to feel so totally secure from shuriken say oh that's for other people. Right? That's that's for the non Muslims you know, I immune from that I am safe from that.
Prophet Ibrahim Ali Salaam pray to Allah subhanho wa Taala. And he says, Would you don't need to have any nabooda last name and protect me and from my progeny from worshipping idols.
worshipping idols is one of the most you know blatant obvious forms of [???]. And he's asking a lot well what protects me Ibrahim protects me from worshipping an idol. No one today would think would imagine that he's gonna eventually or at one point be worshipping an idol. Yet we have to understand that you do not own your own heart and you do not know the future.
And some of the sugar, the messengers have a lot to it says Sallam described he says
mean the baby namely he later some forms of shirt are more hidden than the black and in the moonless, darkest night, very hard to detect.
So that if we want to be of those that Allah Subhana Allah forgive, we have to worry about, should
we worry about any other disease that take our life? What do you do when there's a disease in some area that actually could kill you, you stay away from it, you know how to save yourself from it. You know what immunizations you can take to protect you, you will be educated about it. If your life is important to you, you will be educated about it. If it's the life of your family is important to you, you'll be educated about it. So if sugar is the is the killer, no greater sentential, then you have to be educated about it, know about it, its major forms and minor forms so that you don't be guilty of it. And it doesn't do you or doesn't deny you the forgiveness of Allah Subhana Allah so
this is important.
And the next thing
is feuding with other people.
The first ship is the right that belongs to Allah subhana wa Taala. The next one is right that belongs to his slaves, jealousy and animosity between people feuding, cutting relations, whether it's a relative or not, when it happens for the sake of this dunya not for the sake of religion, but this for the sake of this world. It's this this members the community and this members, the Muslims and dismembers and this connects families. Allah subhanho wa Taala does not love it is not pleased with it. And denies forgiveness not only in Shabbat but every Monday and every Thursday, you will be denied forgiveness
because you're not talking to so and so.
Because he broke in relationship with so and so and why it's because of this
so here there is great lesson and the month of Shabbat in anticipation for the month of Ramadan to remove the obstacles that stand between you and Allah subhanho wa Taala It is because of schilke that we do not rely on Allah subhana wa tada enough, if we truly love Allah,
truly love Allah Subhana Allah and trust in Him. We will not trust anything else or anyone else who will not put our trust in anything else. If we truly are dependent on Allah subhana wa tada we will not worry about anything except pleasing Allah. That is the essence La ilaha illAllah Muhammad Rasulullah to trust and love our last panel data more than anything else. So to remove the obstacles
before Ramadan comes right before even that 15th night come to remove the obstacles between you and Allah subhana wa tada and make him first in your life as much as you can and remove another obstacle between you and other people to understand that you as a Muslim, do not live alone. You worship alone. Your Salah is in congregation you fast with other people, you go to Hajj with other people, it's always with other people, and you need other people. And Allah right is connected to the rights of his servants. So if you have insulted someone, if you have wronged someone, if you have done something to upset someone, and you're not talking, this is the time for you to reach out to them
and say I am sorry forgive me and also to ask for their forgiveness as well. to mend relationships so that you are ready when the month of Ramadan comes here. I am ready to receive forgiveness and blessings from Allah subhanho wa Taala. So remove these obstacles. What should we do in the month of Shaban in order to prepare for the month of Ramadan, take the worship that you want to do in the month of Ramadan and then deduce it from now.
So you won't even go into the fasting by the will of Allah fast prepare yourself for it. You want to be reading the Quran, why not just half a page the first day or than one page verse day, but as much as you can know introduce this practice now. So you can build up so by the first day inshallah you can build up into maybe edges or half inches or whatever you can whatever your time permits, but increase increasing so that you can do more than done last year. You want to give charity in the month of Ramadan, introduce it now give a little bit every day or every week so that you have this habit this generosity by introduce charity, not only you know, wealth by charity of character,
smiling in the face of other people for being forgiving with other people. Helpful, very helpful with your time were generous with your time generous with your help. And to do that now. So you could actually increase it in the month of Ramadan. And then finally, plan ahead. What is it that you will do? What is it that you want to accomplish this month? So that you are a better person than last Ramadan? What is it that you want to do and plan ahead? What is it that you want to do with your family? What is it that you want to do with your community? If the month of Ramadan, as we said, is so vital, and it's so important it deserves that we take at least a few moments before it
comes for us to understand how important it is and what we want to do with it. So we ask Allah subhana wa tada the Most Merciful, the makers of those that he forgives on the night of the middle of Shabbat Allah you ask us that you cleanse us from all [???]. Allah we ask us that you we ask you that you cleanse us from all [???]. While we ask you that you remove any feud between us and other Muslims. Allah we ask you that you remove any animosity and jealousy between us and other Muslims. While we asked you that you remove any jealousy and animosity between us and other Muslims. Allah we asked you that you make us those who prepare themselves for the month of Ramadan and are forgiven in
the month of Ramadan. Will Allah help us to faster than accept our fasting in the month of Ramadan and it helped us a lot to pray in the month of Ramadan and accept our prayer in the month of Ramadan and help us to be of those who give charity and are charitable in the month of Ramadan and except for that from us to help us to be of those who are forgiven in the month of Ramadan. Well we ask you that you send victory upon Muslims Allah and defeat upon the enemies of the Muslims. Allah grant Muslims helping aid in this rule then the next
