But when we look at the companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, we know that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam chose some companions, and he gave them a special status over all of the other companions. So for example, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that those who accepted Islam before the conquest of Makkah, are better than those who accept Islam after the conquest of Makkah. And we also know that those who participated in the Treaty of Abia are better than those who accepted Islam after the Treaty of Abia. And we also know that those who are present during the Battle of butter are better than those who were not present during the Battle of

butter. And we also know that the early ones to accept Islam are better than those who accepted Islam later, are from amongst all of those we also know that there are 10 companions that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam chose above all of the other companions, and he promised them paradise within this world before his death, and before they even died. He promised that they would enter into Jenna that they will be from the people of Paradise, and from amongst them is Ramada de la hora. So these 10 companions, if you like would be in the a team, they would be your star team, because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam chose them over all of the other companions. Now,

this doesn't mean that all of the other companions therefore have no merit or value No, very means that these 10 companions have a status that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave to them over every other single companion. And we can do something similar also when it comes to the scholars of Islam. So there are certain scholars of Islam, whom the other scholars say we're from the best of scholars. And from amongst them is Omar Abdul Aziz Rahim, Allah tala. So this is the reason why I've chosen to speak about these two models when it comes to the law, and then we're going to start with him first.

Many of us have heard of the life of our model, the long run, we've heard over and over again, we've read the articles, we've read the books, we've heard the CDs, we've attended the lectures. So what I've tried to do here for this lecture is not to go over those facts about animal's life, which are well known. Those things which everyone reads and hears, and is well known for. And I think the whole personality of Omar, the whole appearance of Amara de la langue, can be summarized within this. religion. There is no concept of being a monk in our religion. You don't stay in the machine all day, go out and earn a living, support your family go and work, and he would be the ministry. And people would remember this about our motto, the law one, some of the great companies like Apple Musashi and others. When it came to the beatings of armor, they would run, they would be scared. So we all know the famous story of Amara de Allah and Abu Musab actually goes and knocks on his door three times Rama doesn't respond. So Abu Musa walks away. So Omar comes and says, Why did you walk away after Three? Three times, you're not going then you walk away. And he says, because the Prophet

sallallahu alayhi wa sallam commanded us to do this. Someone had never heard the Hadith. So he said, either you bring the witness, or I'm going to make an example out of you. So Abu Musashi runs and he goes and he looks for the companions and he's saying, who will support me, who's going to vouch for me? Who's going to say that he heard the prophet SAW Selim say this, otherwise Romar is going to sort me out. And this is an abusive Ashley's not just any companion. It's not like you know, someone that's unknown is one of the major most famous companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. But this was the way that the loved one

Now what's interesting here

is Rama rhodiola Wang who develop this personality from his childhood.

And he developed this personality because his father

was a very harsh and severe father. He was someone who was very strict with his son, and armor of the law, one who mentioned that when he was a young boy, he would be a shepherd, for the sheep and the goat of his father.

And in some narrations for the sheep and the goats of his Auntie's, and he would work the whole day being a shepherd is a young boy, the whole day, he would work as being a shepherd going into the desert, grazing with the sheep. And he would spend the whole day in the long, hot summer heat. And at the end of the day, all he would get in return was a handful of dates. This was his wage. And day in and day out, he would do this, he would be a shepherd. So he was someone who grew up in a very strict environment. And he would say that if my father found me doing something else, or slacking off on my job, he would beat me severely. He would beat me severely. So this was the way that I'm

rhodiola one who grew up, and this helps you to know why he developed his personality. Many people develop their personalities because of the way they're brought up, because of the way that their parents are, and their own personalities. was a young boy, back in Makkah, and I would be a shepherd, for the goats and the sheep of my father and my Auntie's, and I would work the whole day without taking a break. And all they would give me in return was a handful of dates. And then he went off the minbar. That's all he said. So the people gathered around expecting to say something important, and this is what he said. He just told them his background and how he was treated when he was young. So when he came off the minbar Abdul Rahman who for the Allah who I'm one of the great companions, he came to Rama and he said, Oh, Mira, meaning old lead of the believers. All you've done today is humiliate yourself. You've done yourself

no favors. All you've done is humiliate yourself. You didn't need to tell people how you were treated when you are a young boy. Now people will think oh, he was was a lowly shepherd, and you're the need of the Muslims. So Amaro, the alarm rang, who said to me, oh, my soul. My enough's was telling me that today I am the most powerful and richest man in the world. He's the belief of the Muslims. He's conquered the Persians and the Romans. He's the richest man if he wanted to be, he's the most powerful man on the earth. He saved my soul was telling me that today armor, there is no one more powerful to you. up on the minbar and said, why I said, in order to humiliate and humble myself, to show myself where my origins were, where my roots were, this is how I started and that I'm nothing special. So Subhanallah Look, I'm one of the low one. And this small incident shows you the personality of Hmong. Yes, he was harsh. Yes, he was severe. But at the same time, he had this humble and he had this humbleness and humility, in his approach and personality. When it came to the religion of Allah. When it came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he would have this humbleness and humility. But what's really interesting here about the personality of Omar, his background,

is whenever we think about Rama, Rama radi Allahu anhu is always harsh. He's always severe. He's always a strictest person. He's always the most fiercest when it comes to defending Islam. But the question I have is that there is someone who even Omar was scared of. There was someone who even are more used to be scared of Does anyone know who he was?

I will back up rhodiola one. Now when we think about aboubaker, we think gentle, and soft, and merciful. This is what we think of a worker. But Amar is saying that he's scared of a worker. How does this make sense? And this is why when you look through the life of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, whenever Amaro the Allahu anhu is doing something that and someone needs to calm him down, who calms him down. Who is the one who always says to him, oh, no, calm down, sit down, hold back. It's always Abubakar as Amara de Allahu anhu even though he says he's angry, and the people are staying away out of his way, because they

don't want to be, you know, harmed by him. When aboubaker comes, he just says sit down, and he just goes away. Because he's scared of the wrath of aboubaker he knows Abubakar rhodiola one better than anyone else. And this is why I'll just give you one simple example of this. the corners. So everyone goes until eventually Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu comes in. And he wants to speak. So what is this a trauma? Does he go and start negotiating? Does he stalls you know, calming him down? is some counseling going on? No.

Sit down or Sonata. That's all he says sit down and just quietly Sit down. So I'm a rhodiola, even though he had his personality, and he had it for the sake of Islam, when it came to Abu Bakar the other one, even he would be scared as a panel. This is a beautiful concept in Islam, that is not about your personality, whether you got a soft personality normally, or whether you got a harsh personality normally, what matters is how you portray this personality when it comes to Islam. When it comes to the Quran, when it comes to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, because Abu Bakar was the gentlest and kindest of people. But when it came to Islam, and something was Haram, or

someone was doing something contradictory to Islam, then he was like a lion. And he was even more fierce than those people who normally lions. But if someone has that harsh personality, but when it comes to Islam, he doesn't even use it. When it comes to his fellow brothers and sisters, his harsh personality is oppressive and it's unjust, then it doesn't make any sense and it has no value or no merit. As a panna loman, Abu Bakar, the Allahu anhu passed away. When Abu Bakar, the loved one who was on his deathbed, he wanted to appoint or model the loved one as the next halifa. So he gathered all of the major companions, and one by one as they were coming in, he was asking them, who do you

think I should appoint as the halifa? And then he would mention to them that I want to appoint to our model, the old one. So what do you think so early on Horace, Mann, and Ebony, and zubayr and all of the major companions, they said, Yes, appoint him. He's the best person from amongst us. There is no one better than him. All of them said this except one companion. The companion was telling her evening obey the law, or the law one was also one of the 10 that was promised paradise. When Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu mentioned it to Paul when he said, I want to appoint Mr. Paul have replied and he said, Oh Rama Oh Abu Bakar What will you say in front of Allah on your monthly Yama when Allah

says key? Why did you appoint someone as harsh and severe as armor over the Muslims? What response when you give, you know his personality? You know how harsh he is? You know how severe he is. So why are you appointing him as the leader of the Muslims? So Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu responded. And he said, If I am asked on numerous pm about this, then I will tell Allah subhanho wa Taala that I appointed the one who was the best from amongst them. That's why I appointed him because there is no one better than normal. And then he said to Paul, how you see him as harsh, you see a severe, but by Allah He only does this because he thinks that I am too soft and gentle. And he doesn't want people

taking advantage of my good side, my good nature, but when he becomes halifa himself, you will find that he will change you will find that his personality would become different. And so he is telling Paul here that he is only being harsh and severe to make a balance. And so Pamela chef will not be able to Tamia Rahim Allah He mentioned this beautiful point, that when the leader is someone who has a strict harsh personality, his deputy should be someone who is gentle and soft. And if the need is someone who is gentle and soft, then his deputy should be someone who is harsh and severe. So there's always that personality so that people don't think that they can take advantage of the salt

One, oh, they don't feel that the harsh one will always oppressed and doing justice to them. There's always that balance. So I'm gonna do one who, when he became the halifa, he became soft. Another beautiful thing about the life of Mr. De La Hoya is that whenever you look at the life of Rama, he is always at the forefront. He's always at the top. He's always the one that's doing everything. He's always the one that's initiating everything, any major thing that you want to think about any battle, you want to think about any major incident during the life of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, or during the life of Abu Bakar. Omar is always at the forefront. And so Pamela, think

about this. I'm one of their loved one who has been promised paradise, he can go into paradise, he's got a guarantee. But even so he is still at the forefront. He's still the one that's working the hardest, always aiming for better than best is not enough that he's just achieved paradise. He wants to continue and he wants the highest ranks of paradise. So he is always at the front. And there are many examples of this, where Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu first became the halifa

or more of the a loved one who was walking during the streets. And he found that there was a woman there. And that woman was looking for Abu Bakar. So he went to look with her. He went to his house, he went to the masjid. He couldn't find him anywhere. Eventually he finds him in the marketplace. Abu Bakar is in the marketplace. What's he doing? He's Buying and selling. He's doing his trade. So Rama goes to him and he says, oh, Abubakar, you are the halifa of the Muslims. People are looking for you. They have needs, they have problems, and you're here Buying and selling. So Abu Bakr says, I don't have enough money for me and my family to live. Pamela, Abubakar is the halifa. If he wants,

he can just go to the Treasury take as much money as he wants, who's going to say anything to him, but he would rather work. So he's in the market and he's saying there's not enough money for me and my family. So Amara, the Allahu anhu says to him, go back and do the work of the halifa. And we will give you a wage from the treasury of the Muslims. sermon of the Allahu anhu gives him a treasure away from the Treasury.

And then, after a few days, again, he looks for Abu Bakar Anika Abu Bakr is nowhere to be found. So again, he goes to the marketplace and is there a worker What's he doing is buying and selling again? So he goes, Oh, boubakeur. Have we already given you a we've been through this and this is like deja vu, we've been through this. We've given you a wage, and you're back here again. So abubaker says is still not enough for my me and my family. What you gave me is not enough. So Omar says, Okay, we'll increase it go back and do the work of the halifa. So Amara de la huanqiu. Throughout this khilafah, Abu Bakar. He's always there with him, always his deputy, always helping him in another incident.

When Abu Bakar first became the halifa, there were many, many issues that he had to deal with. There were people who refuse to pay the soccer. There were people who had stated from Islam, the Romans and the Persians were attacking the Muslims. There were people who claim to be prophets after the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. So there were many issues. So I'm one of the a loved one who came to Abu Bakar and he said to him, oh, Abubakar, allow me to be your Judge of Medina. You be the halifa you worry about the affairs of the Muslims. As for me, I will deal with the affairs the day to day affairs that the problems of the people of Medina have allowed me to be your judge. So

Abubakar agrees. And he says to him, go ahead. So I'm one of the Allahu anhu remains in this position as Judge for a whole year. And after a year, he comes to Abu Bakar and he gives him his resignation. He handed in his resignation. So Abu Bakr radi, Allahu anhu says to him, I mean, Misha cotton he, Is it because of the difficulty of the job? Because there's so much pressure, there's so many problems with this job is this one, you're resigning? So I'm gonna do a lot one who says no, it's not because of this. But for the whole year that I've been judged. Not a single case has come before me. No two Muslims have disputed before me. So it's not that I don't want the job. There's

just no need for the job. You don't need a judge. No one has any problems. Every single Muslim knows their rights. So they take their right to justice. And every single Muslim knows the rights of others upon them. So they give people their rights with justice. This is the community that they were living in, or the Allah

Subhana Allah. And this doesn't necessarily mean that people didn't dispute they disputed people always dispute. But when they would know what the truth is, who's right is where they would solve it. They didn't need to go all the way to the judge, and they didn't need to go to a more rhodiola one. So I'm rhodiola. Anwar any time in any stage of the life of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam on the life of Abu Bakar

He was always at the forefront, or the one who was the one who was always at the forefront. And then when he becomes hollyford, the Allahu anhu himself, he's still at the forefront. And this is something which we need to realize. Many times we go about our daily lives and we go and we visit our friends and our cousins and our relatives, and they may be doing stuff which

weakens that heat in one way or another shirt might be creeping in, or they may be performing with us and innovations, something may be happening, which weakens that oh hate, but we remain quiet. And we think it's not a big deal. And we move along Amara de la Juan when he would even smell anything similar to shell, he would put his foot down and he will stop it. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that during the life of Rama because of the way he was, no trials would affect this oma. And this is why during his life, there were no problems. And I'll give you a couple of examples from this. One of them is when he's performing hajj or Umrah, and he's going around the Kaaba making power. And he comes to

He says, I know that you are only a stone, you don't benefit and you don't harm. And if it wasn't that I saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam kissing you, I will not kiss him, showing to the people showing to those around him, that we know that it is only Allah who harms and benefits only Allah subhanho wa Taala. So when we kissed a stone, it's not because we think the stone will answer our doors, or the stones will forgive our sins, or this black stone even though it is a holy stone. We don't believe that it will enter us into paradise to preserve us from

Jenna from Jana, from the fire, but it's only because we're following the Sunnah of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And in everything we do, we know that a larger version is the one who is the real Lord, and He is the one who controls everything. So I'm gonna be along with Andrew throughout his life, he's always presenting to him. And another example of this.

When I'm one of the one who first became the halifa, one of the first things that he did was replace the military General of that time, the general during the time of Abu Bakar of the Armed Forces, was hardly the leader of the long run. One of the first things that Amara, the Allahu anhu does when he becomes halifa is replaces Holly, the beloved one. And He replaces him with our VEDA genre, or the Aloha, another of the great companions. And so people will come into America complaining because harlot was a military genius. So the companion say to him, choose a wage for yourself, choose what you want. So Tom says I want my wage, I want three things. Number one, I want an animal upon which I can go for Hajj

and Umrah, a writing beast. Number two, I want two sets of cloth, one in the winter, and one in the summer. And number three, I want enough food for me and my family. So I'm rhodiola one who goes and he brings his wife, and he makes a shelter. And he says to his wife, go and attend to this man's wife. So she goes to attend. And he says to the man built a fire, I will bring food for you. So I'm rhodiola Wang, who goes back

and he carries sacks of grain and rice upon his own back.

So his slave sees him and he says, oh, Rama, amirul mumineen. Allow me to carry this for you. Let me carry it for you. Now Ahmadi Allahu anhu is not only the halifa of the Muslims, the most powerful man upon the earth, He is also one who has been guaranteed paradise, he doesn't need to do anything more if he doesn't want to. But he says to his slave, no, by Allah, because on the Day of Judgment, you will not carry my sins for me, I will carry this myself. So he goes, and he goes back to the man. And he caught, he starts to cook for him, he begins to cook and prepare a meal for them. This is the halifa himself, cooking and preparing the meal. And then they hear the good news that the

wife has given birth. And so he gives him the food and he says, This is for you, and for your family.

And he says, Come to me tomorrow, find me tomorrow, and I will give you a monthly wage from the treasury of the Muslims.

I will give you a stipend, a wage for yourself and your family, from the treasury of the Muslims. So after he leaves this man is a means to is this man who just helped me so much. And tomorrow he's promising me money from the treasury of the Muslims. And then he finds out that it's the halifa.

Probably Allah Subhana Allah Look at this. And when we think about welfare, and we think about the government help the government help and support that it gives to people, we think that this is something which the West invented, or whatever, hottub, over 1400 years ago, was doing the same, giving money to the weekend for Muslims who couldn't afford anything, and it would give them a monthly wage and a monthly stipend from the treasury of the Muslims. And you were able to sleep like this. Because of the way he rolled, because of the way he was. He was given just to hear justice, and the people would give him security and he was able to sleep during the day not fearing anyone. And he was the one during the night who would walk alone, not fearing anyone, but the people would fear and whatever ohata

rhodiola. Amara, the Allahu anhu was also someone who respected the scholars. So when he would have his Shura when he would have his counsel that he would ask for advice. One of the people that he placed within this council was undeniably our best for the loved one human. And even our best seller, the Allahumma was one of the youngest companions. So after the prayer finishes, he says to that man, who are you? What, you know, who are you to come and just pull me away? So what are the Allahu anhu hears this? And he says to him, Do you not know who this is? This is the leader of the believers. This is the leader of the believers, obey even he can rhodiola one. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam instructed us that when the Imam comes to pray, the people who stand directly behind them should be the people of knowledge and understanding. It should be those people who stand directly behind the

of these appearances. Nothing will save us we will be humiliated.

Something else that took place during the life of our model. The last one was that he was always calling people back to Islam, to hold firmly to the son of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to be strong in the Eman.

One year there was a severe earthquake in Medina. And after the earthquake, he gathered the people in the masjid and he said to them,

by a law this earthquake only came because of the sins that you are committing. He's saying this to the people of Medina. And the vast majority of people of Medina during his time will still companions.

Very few of them are from the next generation, the Tabby in the majority of them are still companions, and many, many of them with a major companions. So he's saying to them that this earthquake, this punishment from Allah is as a result of our own sins. So he said to them, either you stop sinning, or if something else similar comes to this to Medina ever again, I will leave Medina I will leave staying with you. So have a look at this power that he had. He's saying to the people, you are sending so much that Allah is sending punishment upon us. So either stop sinning, or I'm going to go and live somewhere else. I'm not going to live with the people who sin so much that

the punishment of Allah comes upon them.

away from any type of battle or war. How in Medina Are you going to become a martyr who's going to kill you? But I'm one of the one who made this to her. And then when he returned back to Medina, during that final year,

Amara, the Allahu anhu, one day came out for the federal prayer. And he was sorry divinization

rhodiola and the reason why he was included was because he was the brother in law of Amr and his first cousin. So he didn't want people thinking that he was appointing his own relatives, his own cousins, his own family members. So he said to him, No, you will not be part of the Council.

This he's on his deathbed. He is dying. that if I choose one of the six, then the people will think that I am preferring him, that he is my preferred choice. And so they will make him the next halifa. So I don't want to influence the people. Don't let any of the sixth lead choose to hype of Rumi, one of the other great companions of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, allow him to lead the press.
