Do Not Belittle Any Act of Goodness – Reminders and Reflections

topic that we discussed in the hotbar yesterday was about the prophetic teaching where the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, Let me run the mineral mango fishery,

do not belittle any act of goodness. This is such a wonderful motto, a slogan, an attitude, a philosophy and ideology by which a person ought to live life. Do not belittle any act of goodness, it may be a literal Act, in our estimation, but to the recipient of that act, it may mean the world in the estimation of Allah subhanaw taala it may also mean what grants you salvation

and in the Hadees

Imam Al Ghazali narrates it in his book here Aluma Deen, a man comes to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and says Ya rasool Allah He Alemany karamat in and Tefera Obeah or messenger of Allah teach me words that would be of benefit to me. And the Prophet peace be upon him said to him, let them have their own nominal marble fisheye. Do not belittle any act of goodness and also Imam Muslim narrates the Hadith on the authority of Abuja, and in it he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to him, let Iran nominal Margot vishay wallow until a haka big and Talia, do not belittle any of act of goodness, even if it may be that you meet somebody, or your brother with a cheerful face. Prophet peace be upon him gave the example of a woman during one of the Israelites, she held a profession that was not very good. She was a prostitute. And one day she will felt thirsty, she went and she drank water from a well. And as she is coming out of the well, there was a dog hanging by the well and the dog was panting. Yell hasn't been allowed push. So the woman felt sorry for the dog went back in again, filled her shoes with water, came up and gave the dog water. And it said that Allah subhanaw taala appreciated that ditch so much. So much so that Allah subhanaw taala forgave her sins. Yet when you compare it to the act of goodness, you say, but this really does not. They don't really match. She did not like stablish a shelter for all the dogs in the city. Do not belittle any act of goodness,

the same way that we do not belittle act of goodness, we should also never underestimate a sin or a mistake or a poor choice. If this can lead to Paradise, unfortunately, that can also lead to our demise. So do not belittle act of goodness, but also do not belittle any act of sin. And then finally, what is that act of goodness, it could be that people are involved in backbiting, and you choose not to partake in that. It could be checking up on somebody, I gave the story yesterday of a brother who passed away he fell in the bathroom, as he was taking a shower and he was dead for four days. And nobody knew about him. And he was dead dead for four days. And act of goodness with the

pick up the phone and ask somebody, how are you doing? We haven't seen you in a while. That's an act of goodness. An act of goodness would be checking up on people, especially the elderly nowadays with the pandemic, giving them a call check in on them and seeing how are you doing? You hear the stories about somebody who said that I was on my way to end my life. But then somebody gave me a call. And they said why don't you come over and have tea. And just like that a random act of kindness. That did not really mean much to the person was doing it. But it meant the world to the person who was receiving it. And sometimes we don't even know about these things. And the final reminder, whenever

we speak about this act of goodness, please remember, we always begin by our immediate family members. It's nice to be good. It's nice to be kind. But remember the people who should be the first recipients of our goodness and kindness and generosity they ought to be
