Salam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh All praise is due to Allah subhana wa tada who revealed the Quran to be our guide and our life's program, and who sent to us His chosen servant and messenger from the progeny of Abraham, and who perfected for us and gifted with his chosen religion of Islam. It is to him We shall return and be questioned on that final day, the day of our exam Alhamdulillah we thank Allah subhana wa tada that we have now reached Surah Al anon. And the goal of our series, remember is to summarize the essential message the takeaway points. This is a very cursory, a very bird's eye view of the entire surah. And the goal, once again, is so that you listen to this

lecture. And then you read the entire surah on your own in Arabic and also in the translation. false gods, it takes on their internal in consistencies. Also, it talks about their psychological stubbornness to refuse to accept the truth. And Allah subhanho wa Taala keeps on saying that when somebody is so arrogant when somebody has decided that they're not going to believe no matter what you do, they're not going to believe and we'll give you some examples for this. So let us now dive into these three overall pillars. And the first verse sets the entire tone. Generally speaking, the first verse of a surah really sets the tone of the entire sutra, the first verse, All Praise be to Allah who created the heavens and the earth, and who made darkness and light, and yet still, those

who disbelieve they ascribe others to Allah. So this verse, look at the creation around you thank Allah for that, rather than acknowledging the miracles around you. You are ungrateful and rather than appreciating and then worshipping Allah, you do the worst of all things and that is that you direct your worship to other than Allah subhana wa tada throughout this entire surah. Allah reminds mankind and the Quran in particular, have so many blessings that they have in verse number six, Allah says, look at the histories of those before you in verse number 13. Allah says To Him belongs every creature that rests in the day or the night in verse 18. Well, who will call you for clarity

buddy? He is the Supreme over his entire creation. In verse 59, Allah subhanho wa Taala demonstrates how perfect is his knowledge and this is one of the most famous verses in the

In other words, not the fact that Allah says wet or dry is that even the characteristics of existence are known to Allah, not just that there is something but how it is its temperature, it's every minute

detail. And not only does Allah know it, but rather Allah has written it down in the preserved tablet in verse number 60. And what an eloquent verse here he is the one who causes you to go to sleep, and who knows what you do during the day. Look how this verse combines between the power and the knowledge of Allah, you go you lie down at night, how do you go to sleep, who causes you who blesses you with that sleep, who will lead you to believe he causes you to blesses you to rest at night? And then during the day, he is well aware of all that you do? In verse 95? In the law, local happy one hour, Allah is the one who splits open the grain and the seeds you planted. Yes, you pour

water on it. Where does that power come from? Who created the laws of nature that we now in the modern world we like to talk about science does this and science decrees that and from science, we learn what is science? It is the laws that Allah instituted? Where do these laws come from? A lot of talks about the miracles of the creation, the harmony of the night and day and verse 97, the beauty of the stars, the constellation, and then in verse one, or to

In all of these verses, Allah links together two facts or two realities that should intrinsically be linked, but most people don't link them and especially the harsh The first is to acknowledge there's a higher power. And Allah says that self evident Look around you, you all admit that there is a God. The second once you've acknowledged there's a higher power than you should

worship that being rather than worshipping false gods. So Allah azza wa jal keeps on underscoring this method. ensuited Anam. Who else do you turn to when your ships are about to drown or they're about to falter your nature calls out to Allah subhana wa Tada. It is a law who responds to you when you need him then and whenever you need him, and yet still, you worship others besides Him. By the way, this first also is a optimistic sign for all of us. Allah is speaking to the pagans of the Quran. And Allah is saying, when you call out to me sincerely, I do

answer you, even those who worship other than a law when they are sincere to Allah, Allah subhanho wa Taala responds to their to us, Allah even answered the door. We believe safewatch a time when he believes may do it to him. So how can we lose hope of being answered by Allah when we believe in Him? How can we not have that optimism when Allah is telling the kurush? Look, I answer you, whenever you reach out to me, you called out to me sincerely, I am the one who answers you, then why do you worship others besides me? So Allah answers the entire creation, whoever turns to him, therefore we should never feel shy of turning to Allah. And Allah never criticizes in the whole

Koran, becoming religious at times of distress. Allah never criticizes thinking of Allah when you're about to drown when your son is sick when you're in a trouble, trouble or problem.

Allah criticizes neglecting him after that. Allah criticizes Look, when you were sick, when you're on the hospital bed, all of a sudden a lot comes in Allah May called me and I promise this and do that. And that's fine, no problem. The fact that you call out to a lot of times of distress, it shows that you believe in Allah, Allah praises that what Allah criticizes is, once your relief comes, once I give you what you want, then you neglect then you reject, then you turn to other than Allah. And this is especially pertinent to the Quran. Because the Quran as this surah and other students tell us, they would actually call out to Allah when the going got tough, when they're

trapped, when they have no alternative, they would not call out to their false gods, they would call out only to Allah. And that is what Allah is saying, from your own experiences you have learned that making there are too many miracles can happen, then why then do you make dua to others besides me? So this is the theme of the oneness of Allah and linking Allah's creation and a less power with the fact that we should worship a lot. All the science around us, shout out to us the existence of Allah. We don't need complicated philosophical proofs to prove the existence of a law, everything around us. We ourselves are a proof of a law as even taymiyah said, How do you want me to go find

proofs for Allah's existence, when everything around us and even us is a proof of existence, you don't need to find anything. So the Quran Surah Al anon is telling us over and over again, look around you. And then when you see the beauty of Allah's creation, worship a lot alone. The other motif that we said is the prophethood and the Quran, so he decided after Right, so the Salah, and restart, it is comprised of two things. Number one, that there are human beings that Allah has chosen, and sent to guide the rest of mankind. And number two, that these human beings get a Book from Allah. And that book is meant to be our reference point. And again, sooner than an arm is full

that you have, the one who perfected your creation wouldn't just leave you without telling you how to live your life. So Allah is saying, when you deny Prophethood when you say oh, there is a God. And by the way, there is still there are a lot of people in the world. They're called deists, they believe in a God but they don't believe in religion. And Allah is saying that is nonsensical. It doesn't make any sense and to deny prophecy to deny that there are human beings whom Allah has chosen and sent as prophets. You are denying the mercy, the compassion, the wisdom of Allah, and that is what Allah is saying. When they denied the Prophet system. They said God doesn't send

prophets because remember, the Quraysh were not Jews and Christians, the Quran did not believe in prophets. They didn't believe in the concept of an abbey. So Allah is saying, when you deny Prophethood, you are in fact negating the high majesty of Allah subhana wa Tada. It is an insult to Allah. Why would Allah create you and then not guide you? Allah, Allah woman, the one who has created knows what is best. So Allah is saying that when they deny Prophethood they negate me they negate My majesty. And Allah azzawajal affirms in verse number 19. He is the one that has sent this Koran down to the Prophet salallahu it he was setting them in verse 114. Allah says that it is He is

the one who has revealed the Book explained it in detail in verse 38, maharatna vilket albumin shape, we have left nothing out of the Quran. The Quran is all encompassing everything we need is in the Quran. So the Prophet is a prophet. The Quran is the book of Allah. Yet the Prophet doesn't become superhuman. Verse 50, very beautiful verse, say to them, Yasuda law will say to them, I am not saying that I control the treasures of Allah. I am not saying that I know the future. I'm not saying that I'm superhuman that I'm an angel. I'm just a human being I'm a mortal. So the macom are the status of the prophets of Allah while he was setting them. He is being told to say in the Koran

very clearly he is saying I don't know the unseen I don't know the future. I'm not superhuman. I'm not in a

Angel, I am just a Bashir and an idiot, I am a warner and a giver of glad tidings if you obey Allah, I'm here to give you good good news. And if you disobey Allah, then I am a warner unto you. And this surah as well linked to the concept of prophethood linked to the concept of rissalah. There is also a sub motif underneath this before we move on to judgment day, there's also a sub motif in the entire sutra, and that is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he himself felt psychologically troubled and pained at having been rejected, he was hurt that his people rejected him accused him of all types of things. And so there are so many verses and so little and on that

And so they need to really take the profits as role models and understand it is a huge responsibility of them. And this is very, very powerful. Being a prophet doesn't mean that just because people mock you make fun of you, you are immune. A lot is saying what am I the NA n mo n

Fact of the matter is that's not true. Words can hurt words can sometimes be worse than a physical, some physical pain. And this is something that a lot is saying in the Koran, that what they say, you know, when they accused him with those vulgarities, you're crazy, you're a madman, you're a lunatic, you're possessed, you're a liar, and he never uttered a lie in his life in his entire life. And then they accused him of lying about Allah, you know, an honorable person and only those who, you know,

no, no, an honorable person, when he's accused of these types of things, it really hurts that you are sincere, you're doing your best. And then somebody comes and twists it around and says something very, very heinous and evil, it really hurts. And a lot is saying, we know it hurts you out of sort of law. Therefore, look at this. When somebody is in pain a lot is teaching us we validate the pain, we don't dismiss it, we validate the pain, we know I know it's difficult, it's a It must be a difficult time, then you give words of encouragement, then you try to move on give them inshallah it'll be better. So Allah is telling the prophets Listen, Look, I know it hurts you. But people

before you, the prophets have come, they too had to face what they face. So another thing is that you link people in pain, you link them with look, you know what it's happened before, there are other people as well. And that's where a lot of times, you know, when you go to therapy or counseling, you get linked together in these types of thing. And here, Allah is telling to the profitsystem You're not alone. There were prophets that came before you, what are they could do, but through some public for sobre, la moku. They too, were tortured, they too had to face persecution. So you're in a very good group over here, you're not alone, the group of the prophets. And so all of

this shows us that's a part of our students as well, that when people are in pain, we comfort them with words, if a law can comfort our Navy, Salah lorrison with words and he needed to hear that so Pamela, well, then me and you we are also in need of being comforted as well. So all of this is about the issue of prophethood and the issue of reciting

And I went into a tangent about the psychology of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. So another tangent still related to the issue of prophets is the issue of the miracles of the profits. And this is also a common theme throughout students an arm and that is the issue of miracles. Why doesn't Allah send more miracles, and this is again, very clear in verse number 35, Allah subhana wa tada describes to us the eagerness of the Prophet system to obtain miracles, he wanted a miracle, he wanted to show

something to them. And Allah says, if you could climb up to the heavens, if you could get a stair and ladder and just go all the way up and grab a miracle, you would do it in verse number 37. Allah speaks of the Quraysh they taunt the Prophet system, that why doesn't he come with a sign? Show us a sign? And Allah says, Allah can indeed send a sign down but you don't know. Because we learned from other suitors that when the sign comes when a miracle of that nature comes, you either believe or else you are destroyed. Allah does not play games, Allah, this is in the Quran as well, that there is nothing that is bolted there is nothing that is just for with a law. Yeah, and when a law will

send a miracle, either you believe or that is it. And we see this and the people of color and the people have moved in the previous nations as well. Then a law also tells us another reality of why he does not send miracles down is sort of that an arm verse number seven, are hoppy. Sub recited verse number seven that had we sent down to a book that they could see from the heavens, on paper could last scrolls paper on paper, and they touched it with their own hands, they would have still said, this is magic, we don't believe and verse number eight, they challenged they say, why doesn't an angel come? believe or all of you will be destroyed, you're not going to be given a second chance, when that type of miracle comes, they were the people of solid they wanted that miracle, Allah subhanaw taala sent them that miracle from the rock have created a large camel, that type of miracle, if it comes, you do not get a second chance. So Allah is saying, if I sent that that Angel down, you would not get a second chance. And our Prophet system was offered that later on in Mecca. As our books of Sierra mention that the angels gibreel said, if you want I can give you something like this. And then they will not be given a second chance. And the Prophet system then said no, in that case, let

them continue persecuting me, perhaps they will accept Islam and they did indeed accept Islam at the conquest of Mecca. In verse number nine, Allah says, but you know, even if we sent an angel down, he would have looked like you, you human beings cannot see the angels in their angelic form, you cannot even notice them. So they would have been transformed into be a human. And then you would have doubted and debated Well, this isn't an angel. It's not this. It's not that and therefore it wouldn't do the job. And in verse number 111 111, Allah says, even if we had sent the angels down, even if we had resurrected the dead from the graves, and they spoke to them, even if we gathered

together all the animals and plants and gin and ins, and they shouted to them to believe in Allah, they would still not believe in other words, deaf, dumb, and blind. Once you get to that level, nothing is going to benefit you. And you know, let's be real here. Those who deny the existence of a law, existence of a god, those who are hardcore atheists, what more miracle Do you want than the miracle of life, He who is blind, to the miracles that are already present around him, shall be blind to the miracles that shall come upon demand. It's as simple as that. And a lot xojo does not play games, that you demand a miracle, you snap your finger and something like this is going to

happen. A law has given you enough miracles, the miracle of life, the miracle of 100, things mentioned sooner than the miracle of the creation and the stars in sleep and the resurrection, everything around us. If that's not enough for you, there is no point sending anything else. And a lot also says if I were to send such a miracle, then once you reject, you will get the punishment. And of course, the miracle of the Quran is also mentioned a number of times in the Quran itself. Now you're going to come back to us one by one, and you will leave everything behind you that you had in this world, everything that we gave you, your wealth, your entourage, your power, your possessions, all that you would take pride in, you have nothing as the head he says, naked, barefoot and uncircumcised you will stand in front of a lot, nothing to show

except for your deeds. And Allah says, Where are your intercessors? Where are these other gods that you worship that you falsely claimed were there, the takapa beynac What a powerful verse, every single bond that you had has now been severed, you have nothing and no one except for Allah subhana wa Tada. And all that you claimed was true, has been proven to be false. In verse 130, Allah subhana wa tada will ask you, I'm actually a genie will ins or assemblies of jinn and humans? Didn't I send prophets amongst you? Didn't they tell you a revelations? Didn't they warn you about the meeting of the Day of Judgment. And on that day, Allah says, they will have to testify against themselves,

What a powerful phrase over here, the life of this world, the luxury of this world, the beauty of this world, it was a temporary illusion, and it made them neglected, they're going to die. Death is a reality. Nobody talks about, we just, it's awkward conversation. And in the meantime, we enjoy this world, but the wise person understands this world For how long will it last? Do not be deceived. Allah says follow your heart, run the command higher to dunya. Don't be deceived. Don't be lulled by the illusion of this world, think of the next world and so Allah azza wa jal reminds us of this again, in spirit. And so these

are the three main pillars, as we said to be the decider and our hero.

So that an M also has one very interesting story in it.

And that is the story of the Prophet Ibrahim alayhis salaam, arguing with his people about the oneness of Allah. And the famous story that he saw the sun, he saw the the stars, and then it disappeared, he saw the moon and then it disappeared. You saw the sun and the disappeared. And then he said, I'm not going to worship any of these things. I will worship the creator of all of this and

in verse number 79, Alyssa Abraham says that in the word Jackie was ready for a seminar Tomorrow, I will turn my face and turn my direction to the one who created and originated the heavens and earth. I am a monotheist. And I am not of those who worship others besides a law. Now one important point as you read the story, realize Ibrahim alayhis salam was not searching for God. This is a big misunderstanding that takes place. Ibrahim already believed in Allah Ibrahim was never a polytheist. He was never an agnostic or atheist. Ibrahim, even as a young child knew that Allah was his Lord, and that idolatry was false. This entire conversation is a debate. It is not a searching for the

truth. Ibrahim is arguing Ibrahim is using this language to argue the truth with the people around him and not searching himself. No, the point is to have an argumentation with the other people around him. And then after the story about him from verse 81 onwards, there are a long list of prophets. In fact, the longest list in the entire Koran, eight teen prophets are mentioned by name, please open the Quran and read them. And there is one particular prophet who is only mentioned twice in the Quran. And he is mentioned once over here as well. And we have no details about him whatsoever. Nothing Zilch except for one name, and it is over here. And it is in one other place. If

Do you want us to turn back on our heels to turn our backs after Allah has guided us? Do you want us to walk away after we know the truth, the courage we're telling the Muslims to come back to idolatry? And Allah is saying, You want us to turn back from the truth and walk away? Will in who the law who

When they get when they harvest their crops they gives the cat on the crops. So this purifies our wealth. Our wealth must be pure when we purchase something. And the next verses 143 to 145 long list of the animals that are allowed and not allowed. And also, some of these verses are a little bit confusing I understand in English, but just understand that what is being referenced are superstitious practices that the Jedi or the pre Islamic pagan Arabs had invented and Allah

criticizes and refutes all of these practices that Allah did not forbid those types of animals, the animals that you think they had some very bizarre notions of superstition and a law abrogates all of that and Olam makes it all Hello, and then Allah azza wa jal in verses 118 to 121. And again, it is self explanatory. If you were to follow the majority of people on earth, they would lead you astray from the path of Allah, I don't need to comment more about that. If you were to follow the majority of mankind, they wouldn't guide you.

And it's a beautiful verse and I want you to read it in the Arabic is also very powerful say, Come, let me tell you what your Lord has forbidden upon you, that you associate nothing with him, that you honor your parents, that you do not kill your children

because of poverty, we shall provide for you and for them, that you do not come near in decency as far hisher whether outwardly or in secret, that you do not kill the soul commit murder that Allah has not allowed you to do, except in the course of justice, and all of this, he has enjoined upon you so that you understand that you do not come near the property of the orphan except with the best intentions until he reaches maturity, and that you give full weight and full measure equitably. Don't be dishonest, be fair and just, we do not burden any soul beyond its capacity. And when you speak be fair, even if it concerns a close relative, whatever you speak, speak the truth, fulfill

your covenants with Allah subhana wa Tada. Any covenant you have for the sake of Allah fulfill all of this, he has enjoined upon you. So pay heed and take attention and this is my straight path. So follow it and do not follow the other paths, lest they divert you from his path. All of this he has enjoined upon you that you may refrain from wrongdoing, beautiful passage, the 10 Muslim or Islamic commandments, read them in the Koran. And then the surah concludes by reminding us of the Day of Judgment, warning us against false ideologies. And then Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us, verse 160, whoever comes with a good deed, I shall reward him 10 times its amount, and whoever comes with an

evil deed will be given only that one evil equivalent, and they will not be shown any wrong. The stakes are in our favor.
