Hadith Series – #39 – Be Selfless

The Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said in the La Habra, la coma men and were hurt. So men I know hurts is like preventing or not doing what's required of you, when it comes to things like charity when it comes to giving people what they need to survive. And this shows a really important ethic in Islam, which is that our money is not just for ourselves. And our wealth is not just for ourselves, and our lives are not just for ourselves, the community that you live in, has a right to, yes, a portion of your wealth, yes, a portion of your talent, yes, a portion of your time. And there's a balance, there's a middle path that needs to be tread here, that they don't have a

right to all of it. But at the same time, it's not just yours. You don't get to just build your house in the suburbs and just live in your castle. And not ever give back to the community know, the things that Allah has given you. Whether it's money, whether it's health, whether it's time, whether it's talent, there's a part of that, that you have to give back. You have to donate in a meaningful way you have to uplift people. And that can be with money, that can be with food, that can be with contributions. We see it in the in the mosque all the time and in other houses of worship. The community runs based off of the talents of the members of the people who are in the congregation. So

somebody is good at video. Somebody is good at photography and other person is really good with kids. Right? Everybody has a skill and a talent. And a law expects us to use that talent to uplift everyone around us and to contribute and make our community a better place.
